Hello hello! 👋✨ I hope you’re doing well!

I love your art dearly and have gained a very stark fondness for Depot Agent Josh because of it. He’s so very sweet and it’s always a pleasure to see him in little comic strips. And I realize that it’s been mentioned that he has a crush on Emmett… but truth be told, I feel like we’ve seen him with Ingo a lot - particularly, there’s been a fair few instances of *Ingo* being the one to protect him when he gets into Bad Situations and he’s good at keeping him calm despite Josh being on the more jittery side. Josh notices a lot about Emmett, but it feels like Ingo notices a lot about Josh in turn. And while Josh might not be amazing at hiding his feelings for Emmett… I could see Ingo being very good at keeping them under wraps, especially with professionalism and comfort as reasons why.

(Besides… I think it would be hilarious for Ingo’s tastes to be SO divergent between Melli and Josh lol)

and WELL while ingo cares about all of his employees it would be dishonest to say he doesn’t have any favorites. ingo admires josh’s work ethic and earnestness and keeps an eye on him from time to time. it’s all strictly professional but ingo considers josh a friend. I actually like to think that they keep meeting each other outside of work meet cute style

but also alternatively, it would also be funny if ingo did have feelings for josh but josh just being totally oblivious and takes all of ingo’s flirtations as ingo just being “a nice guy” LOL

Happy Melly Monday everyone!

Today is yet another commission blog. This time,it is from Issycake again with Hero Melia

So for this Hero Melia commission, I wanted to show what Melia looks like when she is ready for battle. I already gushed about Hero Melia's design when I first saw her in a previous commission blog, but I have not talked about what got me awestruck by her design, and it is this pose:

It's just incredibly elegant looking. Like Melia is floating in the air during battle with the telethia-like wings all spread out. It is so glorious, and I wanted to capture that in the best way possible with a full-body render. And I believe no one else can do it, but Issy.

I then asked her back in October of last year when her commissions opened up again if she can do a perspective similar to this Taion art that she also has done:

She went with it, and we began the process.

There isn't as much change from the sketch compared to the final product. The only change I mentioned to her was to raise her arms up a little bit higher. As well as the World Ender not taking as much form as of yet.

Here is the lineart of everything besides the World Ender. As you can see, her lineart is incredibly good. Especially when you look at Melias hair where you can see so much depth in the strands and light reflection. It is so well done.

As for the art itself...

HOLY SH*T THIS IS FANTASTIC!!!

The way Issy colored and rendered her has seen so much improvement since the last commission. From the light shining on her body, the World Ender radiating with power, the telethia wings glowing with brilliance, to the gradient background blending into Melia's resplendence. It was just incredible. All of it was just incredible. So much in fact that I currently still have it as a profile picture on some gaming social media websites.

And many people believe so too because it has over 4K likes on Twitter a year after the art came out. It was simply incredible from the reception that it has gotten.

Despite probably one of the best Melia commissions that I have seen, she hasn't been super active in drawing as of late. But she still takes commissions though, so definitely check that out so she can get back to drawing again. Because I believe her potential is incredible.

Melli is the tallest twink frolicking through Hisui

When I saw Volo, I thought he would be the tall guy™ for Pokémon Legends Arceus since his height is emphasised in his concept artwork. I was sorely mistaken. There is another stinky, smelly contender for this distinguished honour of tall guy™--an underdog, if you will.

This thing twinkie is rediculously tall. He has no right to gallavant through the fields of Hisui as such a long boi. For the sake of my self-indulgent fanfictions general curiosity, I decided to guesstimate how long this boi actually was. (Was? Is? He lived in the past. He was.)

The Volussy has a canon height of 190 cm in his concept art. Thankfully, they included some kind of canon height for one of these characters. The Pokémon game designers rarely add info like exact height or age, forcing silly humans such as myself to hyperfixate at 4am on such random details.

Using generator, am gonna assume that Akari is about 135,5 cm based on where she stands compared to Volo in the concept art. My estimates are in increments of 5 because they are a very rough estimate. Pls add more canon heights in the future for characters, Pokémon

There is immaculate HD wallpaper for Pokémon Legends Arceus featuring the literal GOAT Dialga✨️, and Akari standing beside the leader of the best Clan. The wallpaper shows both characters in the foreground which makes it easier to imagine the height difference. Hurrah!

After adding them into the graph, I would venture to say Adaman is somewhere around 170,5. Not in the same league as Volo, but size doesn't matter kings!

In his stinky concept art, sMelli is announcing how amazing Adaman is and for once, he is recognising someone outside himself as amazing.

I adjusted Stinky sMelli's pose to better see the difference between the two. The shoulders are slightly raised because of the pose. His knees are no longer weak and his palms are no longer sweaty.

The top of Adaman's head is somewhere slightly below sMelli's stinky shoulder. Adding him into the graph with this general difference leads me to speculate that this atrociously stinky twinkie is approximately 215 cm. He is well over 200 cm no doubt, which means only Zisu of the Security Corps could possibly rival him. She is super-ultra-mega tall!

I can now understand how sMelli bodied every guard posted outside the Galaxy Expedition HQ. RIP Beaureguard. He invited himself and shoved his way up the stairs to include himself. He didn't even bring any of his Pokémon with him so I like to imagine sMelli either went for the cheap shots and kicked each guard in the pokéballs, or he threw them aside. He is apparently one of the tallest characters in this game, so I would expect nothing less out of a pissy twinkie like himself.

My problem with the whole Lady Sneasler thing is that while Ingo is someone who is incredibly polite and friendly, even without his memories he views Pokemon as his equals and friends, so it feels really out of character for him to refer to Sneasler as "My Lady" or "Lady Sneasler" or this very polite way of talking.

In general he also feels more unbothered by the events happening or the beef between the Clans. He comes off as tired and slightly annoyed by the things Melli does to throw rocks in the way but it's more in a sense of how it interferes with his thoughts on safety.

So seeing him as a devoted "Sinnoh" believer just because his saviors believe in that just rubs me the wrong way. You just don't embrace everything thrown at you when you are without memories. He is an outlier, he uses Pokeballs which are frowned upon by the Clans and as already mentioned does not fear Pokemon and views them on an equal level. Because that is what he grew up with. They are friends. (I believe him being on more friendly terms with Pokemon and knowing how to deal with them made him a Warden in the first place?) And all this is still part of him even without the memories of context. He might not remember Emmet or anything significant of his previous life in Unova. But he still has the same values and moral compass. He's still the same guy encouraging others and loving to battle with Pokemon.

So basically the whole "Lady" Sneasler thing really is just the tip of the ice berg but the most used one. If anything he would be the least likely use that title. And getting side eyes by the clans for that...

But yeah, this is my beef with this rabbit hole.

I get it. You're saying they take Sneasler too seriously and have Ingo showing too much respect. Have a silly comic of Ingo feeding Sneasler beans.
