jay: have loved him ever since his debut. i thought he was a bit rough around the edges when he first got thrown into all these high profile matchups, but thats only natural lol he was literally a child. i think lots of ppl perked up tho after him vs kenny in sapporo. i was a bit disappointed they didnt do more with the history between him and hanger, kenny and ibushi for wembley but there was a lot of negative stuff going on at the time so w/e.

i love him a lot but id have to say that i have cooled down on him a bit cause im not watching aew rn and there really isnt any other way to perceive him, sadly. i know the gang gang scissor ass bang or whatever is immensely popular and i did like some of the stuff i was sent by friends but i gotta say im a little bit over it just by consuming from afar lol so next i would love for him to get into a grimy nasty t i g h t feud with someone swerve someone and really bring back the rat (like during the time he was chasing after ibushi like he wanted him to [redacted] him sm that [redacted])

hes still for some reason kinda an underrated wrestler who does lots of small things in the ring i appreciate but that dont necessarily stand out so ppl dont really pick up on it a lot. hes not very flashy, i suppose (in the in-ring sense; hes very loud otherwise lol). i think he really stepped up like kenny said and grew into his own, and thats not as easy to do as ppl sometimes say it is. i hold a lot of his matches in high regard, especially him vs ibushi g1 finals, that match is immortal to me and one of my fav matches of all time, ever.

julia: i was extremely meh on her when she started out, the cheerleading stuff just didnt appeal to me even if i can agree that its athletically impressive. whoever trained her tho did a really good job, there are a lot of areas that you can tell she really did her homework in and improved a lot. i think joining hob was the best thing that could ever have happened to her. i said this before somewhere else but i absolutely do NOT get what anyone (tk cough) was smoking to say she shouldve stayed with the varsity blondes, that wouldve been the death of her character 💀 i love her father daughter relationship with the hob guys out of kayfabe and in kayfabe she has some of the coolest gear and entrances.

i really liked her match against kris for the title and i wish it couldve been a little bit longer but i still felt they did everything in their power to get over in those 8? 9? minutes. julias turnbuckle jumpscare is probably my favorite thing about her.

other than that i sadly dont have much of an opinion on her bc, again, i dont watch aew, so if shes done something cool lately sorry folks 🤷 (i did see her gay entrance with skye? iirc, so that was 👌)

first and foremost — YO I JUST MET MY 2024 READING GOAL! 60TH BOOK OF 2024 WHO CHEERED!

anyways i need to be real. this book was really confusing for my tiny little pea brain. i will admit i think i might have liked this story a bit more if i had read it at a different time. like im so serious i have no critical thinking right now. changing to a new antidepressant coupled with a cold? yeah i have about zero reading comprehension at the moment so take everything i say critiquing this book with a grain of salt. hell i might come back to this book in 6 months and give it an extra star cuz i did really enjoy this book at times! but idk i don’t think i can give this 4-stars when i was confused for a good chunk of the book 💀

most of my confusion i think comes from what the character’s motivations are and why they’re doing xyz. rose, judith, the barber, the foreman, garreth & merley or whatever the fuck his name was, none of their motivations made logical sense to me. yet again i am not one to talk about logic when i am literally noncoherent in daily conversations & my memory is of a goldfish. like gun to my head i cant figure out what the M guy’s actual goal was, or damien/damian (i’m gonna go with the ‘a’ spelling & if im wrong sue me). i am still confused by that.

i am also confused about the time period this takes place in, as well as the actual setting. yeah i know its in canada and its snowy and shit. but like do the girls live in a mall? where is gareth living? what even was the camp supposed to be?

the ending was lowkey kinda fire, i did not see those reveals coming (but tbh you could’ve given me a mystery novel where the killer literally confessed on the first page & i still would’ve been blindsided at the moment). i really loved the white alice chapters and as things slowly started to make more sense i was having the time of my life. but when those reveals only come with 20% of the book left….. i mean like i said i cant 4-star it.

the characters themselves were….. fine. rose was likeable most of the time. i really couldn’t work out her motivations or her true thoughts by the end. willow was also fine. judith was meh. the other blooms were literally non-characters. garreth was insufferable. the rest of the male characters were fine. i still don’t really get the barber’s motivations by the end regarding him & rose but 🤷 im not mad at it. same applies to M-guy what the fuck was he trying to do at the end. numbskull

the plot was… Ok! the actual story felt like it was going nowhere, but like i said i absolutely loved the white alice chapters. give me an entire book expanding on those chapters & im sold. those chapters kinda remind me of ‘i who have never known men’ and i adored that book so!

the preachy messages about the patriarchy and men sucking got tiring at times. yes i know men suck. they are opportunists and shallow and see women as objects and blah blah blah. sorry you’ve said your message to me, now do something with it. i mean the book kind of did at the end with white alice & rose but… idk more should’ve been done with that. i really liked the grimy vibe of this book. idk what more to say about that it had a real edgy vibe that i liked.

i have a feeling this review is all over the place (when are my reviews not) but anyways. i had a good time. i found this book average. probably shouldn’t have read this whilst my brain is mush. i defo want to come back to this in the future and see if i enjoy it more when i can actually think coherently. anyways off i go to increase my reading goal now that ive met it with *checks calendar* FOUR MONTHS LEFT OF 2024.

so, here's the thing, and you might be reluctant to it but just hear me out: you don't have to keep "staning" him if he's no longer doing something you like 🤷

like, you're not entitled to him performing for your entertainment just as much as he's not entitled to your unwavering support if he's no longer performing what you expect of him. it's that easy. you're making it sound like you have an obligation to continue being a fan. you don't.

but also, you're clearly wrong. he's still actively making music, we have proof of that. it's just that he's taking his time to make something he's proud of and he's not interested in touring right now, which he doesn't really have to since he's already made his money and doesn't need the touring revenue. i think he's entitled to taking as much of a break as he feels he need and doesn't owe any of us explanations as to what he's doing, though i appreciate the monthly photo dump updates.

hell, if he decided to just disappear off the face of the earth and never show his face in public ever again i would support his decision because it's his to make and i'm just someone who likes his music and has no right to an opinion. he's not mine and he's not a dancing monkey, he's a human being who deserves to live his life however makes him the happiest.

you can stop being a fan. you can not like what he's doing right now. what you decidedly can't do is feel like he's lying to you or owes you any explanations on how he's living his life.

I agree with the monogamy thing. Like no where in that conversation did either of them voice wanting someone else, like why would they. I mean Ian literally brought it up as an example of what they want the marriage to be. I just think Mickey took him bringing it up as Ian wanting to change that and Ian mistook Mickey not agreeing with him as Mickey wanting something else. And that lead them to do stupid questioning and miscommunication. If either wanted something else they would have flat out said it not had to flip pieces of papers and such LOL. Mickey was being blunt and bratty the whole episode he would have just said it. I think Mickey running away after was him being “oh shit he doesn’t Not want monogamy let me just say I spelled it wrong instead of admitting I thought he wanted something else”

also the whole “do it together” is so obvious a “the only way I see myself ever with someone else was with you” mostly said hypothetically. They probably just like a show. Something they thought they could try but just ends with them on top of eachother. They got jealous in that orgy episode for fucks sake 😂 sorry to rant im just so tired of people calling them open or thinking they’d ever want someone else. They aren’t open 😭 and It’s not even about jealousy to me, its like do people really think they’d pick someone over eachother in the presence of eachother???????? Give me a break. I think the writers wanted them to deal with problems that young couples deal with, but they forgot Ian and Mickey have a certain personality for 10 season and that the storyline just doesn't fit. (Same with Ian suddenly not knowing where they can find gay people, after literally leading a gay community, granted it's what Mickey would describe as 'meh and bleh' but still a better to start than the gym)

Also Mickey wasn't that embarrassed about spelling Gallagher wrong on his chest. I doubt spelling monogamy would create such a reaction.🤷

Something they thought they could try but just ends with them on top of each other. -> I can totally see that, and them being a bit delusional and still referring to it as "the orgy" even though neither of them touched another person. It could lead to them discovering the like being watched together and they would explore that. But come on, if Mickey had Ian's dick right there, why would he touch another lame ass dick?
