23. Which specific location (e.g. Besaid Island) would you most like to live in?

I go back and forth on this all the time. Balamb Garden has the most “home” feels to it for me, and not just because it’s pretty/you spend so much time there…it felt that way the first time I saw it. Now, there are logical reasons I’d never want to live there, but from a purely aesthetic standpoint, it had me from the moment I saw that first cinematic sweep. 

41. Which character has the best outfit?

Gilgamesh, of course.

56. Do you own any merchandise?

…Yes, nearly all of them FFVIII related, a few FFVII. I have/had several Guardian Force posables and the resin statues. Unfortunately the statues proved to be extremely fragile, and either broke in transit and could not be replaced, or were knocked over by a cat and shattered on a carpeted floor. I didn’t try again after my THIRD Bahamut & Squall statue went down. They’re just too expensive for what they are. 

More fun, I have a bunch of FFVIII wall scrolls that are pretty sweet and a complete deck of Triple Triad cards with a board (paper, laminated to protect it because I don’t plan on ever selling it). 

I have a teeny tiny (boss) Griever as well as a teeny tiny Bahamut Zero, though they are not part of any particular set. 

I have a 6″ metal gunblade. Not a euphemism, but I’m sure you giggled anyway. 

I also have some of the old plastic figurines of both FFVIII and VII. I think I promised my Angelo to someone, but I need to find it, still. 

And of course I have a few Griever emblems. My favorite is this one: 

Stainless steel, perfect mold, just the right size. I have had several others that were varying degrees of not-quite-right, either the design was slightly inaccurate, they were too big, too small, or made of flimsy nickel or pewter. Although the loop at the top is slightly wrong, I’m happy enough with this one. 

I also have a set of Rinoa’s rings, but they’re not as good. 

I kinda burned out for a while on merch once I had the TT deck, but I enjoy the old stuff I still have. Nowadays I go after fan-made stuff more often. I have a few T-shirts, a framed print or two. Still looking out for more. I’m just pickier, nowadays.

He woke violently, trembling and covered in a layer of cold sweat, unable to determine at first if the scream which came from his mouth had happened here amongst his bedding or elsewhere, in his mind. Only silence came after a few beats, after a few agonizingly long moments of catching his breath and letting his eyes adjust to the darkness surrounding it all.

The shaking eased on its own but not as fast as he’d like, his fingers skittering through damp locks as Lance held himself tight, alone in a room full of the sounds of gentle slumber. It didn’t seem to matter much whether he peered through the darkness or closed his eyes tight, he still saw it: The blaze of golden eyes through the trees. He’d seen them before, felt the wave of being watched bleed through his dream and into reality, too scared to turn and look out his window to the forest that mirrored his existence while he slept.
