i think what we really need is a spinoff, cute cozy show about vlad going to live with sally and george for a bit and all the shenanigans that would occur. not any supernatural life threatening things.
just like, vlad having to enroll in a college or something, or hiding him from the neighbours (bonus points if one of them is a little robin branagh-esque) or george having some kind of school project and he has to learn about breather things like geography or gymnastics. them playing tig or hide and seek and vlad uses some of his vampire powers. or sally has a dinner party and vlad has to pretend to be human and george coaches him in what she thinks normal boys like, which is hilariously off (or they go in the opposite direction and just play him off as moody emo teenager and he has to walk around being weird and listening to music on a computer in his room or something)
i just think it would be so fun.
heres how the 1st episode could play out:
we open on them pulling into the driveway, they hurry to cover vlad with something, maybe a hoodie and then they run inside while he’s smoking profusely. they get inside and show vlad around, then they show his room and explain that he can decorate it if he likes. then they are interrupted by the doorbell.
we meet the nice neighbour lady, who asks what the smoke was about. she has to think on her feet and make something up,like she recently found her teenage son who she gave up years ago, and he has some behavioural issues (implying he vapes/smokes) and that theyre working on it. the neighbour makes some remarks about “oh you poor things!” and then leaves.
sally closes the door and we cut to george running around and closing all of the curtains and sticking up some black card on vlad’s windows telling him all about how it's “like they did in world war 2” then vlad thanks her and sally calls them downstairs.
they are all stood in the kitchen and sally is pottering around making food for lunch/dinner she tells george to lay the table and then stops “sorry vlad! i forgot,um, will you be needing… you know” and he has to awkwardly just be like “no. its fine…” and explain his prefered diet and all.
after they eat vlad goes ip to his room to get some sleep.
maybe a bit later the nice neighbour turns up at the door with her own child(or children.maybe she has a child georges age) and says that she thought that they could rub off some good on him,and since theyre of a similar age it could be nice. sally has to awkwardly let them in and run off to tell vlad of the situation, cue him having to get out of his coffin, throw on a hoodie or something and make his way downstairs. then he has to try not to fall asleep while stopping them from finding out his secret and keeping them entertained. shenanigans ensue.
we end the episode with the teen leaving and vlad and the others sighing with releif
wouldnt have to go exactly like that of course, but it would be a way to introduce the new story and characters while keeping it lighthearted. i think it would be much more of a silly kids show like the first 2 seasons than a dark teen drama like seasons 3,4&5

Going Angst Week 2021: Family/Friends
Read: [1: Birth] [2: Instinct]
Continuation of the No One Knows AU plotline.
---
Everything had changed since the accident. The biological differences were obvious. He glowed, his hair inverted, his eyes turned green, he had ectoplasm running through his veins, he was cold, he didn’t need to breathe as much in human form—the list went on.
But the psychological ones were easily more terrifying.
And nothing scared him more than the way his friends and family were treating him as of late.
He knew that deep down he would never be able to match the way he acted when he was fully human. But that didn’t mean that his heart didn’t skip a beat every time someone shot him a worried glance, every time someone asked if he was alright, every time he caught himself doing something wrong.
He wasn’t human anymore. He wasn’t even sure what he was now, and Vlad seemed to have too much fun emotionally torturing him to give him a straight answer.
“You up for a movie tonight?” Tucker asked, leaning across Danny’s desk.
“Hell yeah,” Sam said. “My house?”
“Oh, you know me too well. What do you think, dude?”
Danny realized that both teens were looking to him for an answer.
He wanted to stay home. Hanging out with either of them meant there was a chance they would see him slip up, and he couldn’t have that.
“Sure.” He hoped his voice didn’t sound too pained.
“Perfect!” Tucker clasped a hand down on his shoulder.
Danny tried not to duck away.
“So we’ll go to Sam’s after dinner. I can bring snacks. Anything you want in particular?”
The thought of eating anything was nauseating. “No. I’m fine.”
“Alright, I’ll just bring the usual then.”
But Danny should have known that something was up. After all, it had been a while since they’d done a movie night. And lately, Sam and Tucker had been acting...oddly.
Well, that was nothing new. Danny thought that as time went on, they’d forgive him for being a bit jumpier than usual and everything would go back to normal.
Except, of course, it didn’t.
The past few weeks had been especially hard. It seemed like they constantly had something to say, but never did. The worried glances had only increased, and the silent conversations seemed to only grow.
Danny had been trying his best to act normal, act human, but it seemed like the more he tried, the worse they’d get.
So of course, in between the first movie and second, the elephant in the room finally stomped all over Danny’s metaphorical floor.
“Hey, Danny.” Sam glanced over at Tucker. A moment passed between the two before Sam nodded and turned back to Danny. “We really need to talk to you.”
Dread pooled in his stomach. He knew exactly where this was going. “I can start the next movie if you want?”
“No, Danny. Listen, can you just sit down for a second?”
His ghostly instincts were begging him to run, but his human side forced him to sit down.
“Listen, we know that...well, Jazz told us about the lab accident.”
Danny could have sworn his heart stopped beating.
“She said it was pretty serious? And she was surprised that you hadn’t told us?” Sam fidgeted with her black rings. “We didn’t say anything to you because we wanted you to be the ones to confide in us.”
“That and we didn’t want you to get upset that we were talking to Jazz about you,” Tucker interjected.
“Right, and Jazz only told us because she was worried. And honestly? We’re really worried too.”
Any oxygen left in Danny’s body was sucked out of his throat like a vacuum.
They’d found out. They knew the truth, they knew he was a freak of nature half ghost and they were going to out him, they were going to tell his parents, they’d tell the school counselor, and Danny would have no one and he’d have to run away to become Vlad’s apprentice and he’d change, he’d be corrupted, he wouldn’t make it out alive.
“I’m just wondering why you didn’t say anything?” Sam asked, her violent eyes brimming with concern.
“I…” Danny’s mouth felt like it was lined with cotton. He tried to swallow, but it was like swallowing sand. “I didn’t want you to worry is all.”
“Yeah, and we get that,” Tucker said carefully. “But, I mean, we’re your best friends. And dude, you’ve been...well…”
At Tucker’s helpless glance, Sam took over. “You just have been acting really off lately.”
“Sorry.”
“No!” Sam nearly leapt out of her seat. “Danny, don’t apologize. It’s not your fault. I mean, hell, if I nearly died in a lab accident I’d be acting off too. It just, you know, it explains a lot. It must have been really terrifying.”
Danny didn’t trust himself to say anything.
How much of his personality had shifted because of Phantom, and how much had shifted because of the accident? Were his ghostly instincts really creeping up that much into his human form?
Would he ever be the same again?
Did they know?
“Is there anything you wanna talk about?”
“We’re all ears, dude.”
He had so many questions he wanted to ask, but he couldn’t say a word. Not without outing himself as Phantom, and that was bound to backfire on him in the worst way possible.
Oh god, he was acting too suspicious. He needed to save this.
“I’m good.”
There was a beat of silence.
Sam leaned forward. “Danny...I don’t mean to sound like Jazz, but bottling stuff up isn’t—”
“I’m fine!” Danny snapped. “I didn’t say anything and I’m sorry, but you know it’s not every day like you’re nearly electrocuted to death in your parents’ ghost portal.”
“Is that what happened?” Sam’s eyes grew wide. “Oh my god, Danny.”
“Holy shit,” Tucker agreed.
Danny threw his arms out. “Ta da! I survived, I’m fine. Nothing to talk about.”
“Danny, I—”
“No.” His tone was final. “Drop it, seriously.”
Another beat of silence passed, and then Sam finally sighed. “Fine, but I’m telling you as your friend that if you ever need anything, we’re here for you.”
He wished he could have trusted those words. But he knew they were nothing more than a farce.
It would have been cruel to hold onto false hope.
Still, he tried to smile. “Thanks.”
Even though he knew he hadn’t fooled anyone.
---
Maddie’s POV
Maddie watched her son from across the kitchen table, just as she’d done every night for the past several weeks. Quietly, as inconspicuous as possible, always watching.
Ever since the lab accident, he’d been….different. Jack hadn’t noticed, but to Maddie the changes were far too obvious. The dropped spoons, the flash of green behind his eyes, his limbs losing visibility without him even noticing, their ecto-inventions that always seemed to go off around him.
One day, she even saw him walk through his bedroom door.
At first, she thought it was just a simple case of possession. But there were telltale signs of possession, one’s that Jack, for all his enthusiasm, always failed to take into account.
Sure, Danny’s eyes flashed green every so often, but most of the time they were blue. Human blue.
And then there was his personality. In cases of possession, the ghost would be completely controlling the body. But in Danny’s case, he was still very obviously Danny. Still the sweet boy she always knew him to be, but he was just...different. Jumpier. Scared.
Like he knew he was living a lie.
And then, just a few weeks after Danny’s run in with the portal, a new ghost appeared.
Of course, Maddie didn’t make the connection at first. The ghost was obviously new, and didn’t seem to have a grasp on its powers. Its fighting was laughable, its ectoblasts nearly always missed, and it seemed to constantly forget about its core powers.
Not to mention, its hair was white. Danny had black hair.
But then the ghost gave itself a name: Danny Phantom. And that was when Maddie decided to take a second look at it.
It was Danny’s height and build, its voice sounded similar to Danny’s, it seemed to know all of Danny’s classmates, it used a Fenton thermos, it wore a hazmat suit that looked eerily similar to the ones in their basement closet—not to mention that Danny’s hazmat suit had gone missing recently.
On its own, one small correlation didn’t mean anything. But when the little similarities kept piling up, then Maddie had to draw some sort of conclusion.
Just what was the conclusion though?
The Danny across the table had gone to school like any other human child, he’d eaten his meals like anyone else, he’d hung out with his human friends, he talked with his human family. On paper, he seemed normal.
Human.
But his grades were in a downwards spiral, Jazz had expressed concern about him and his friends, he’d been breaking curfew, and there were times when she’d peak into his room at night to find him gone.
He could have been just experiencing trauma from the accident. Maybe he was rebelling. There were so many explanations for his behavior that didn’t involve ghosts.
But then he’d do something ghostly or a weapon would beep around him or Phantom would fly nearby, and her red flags would be raised once again.
Maddie learned long ago to trust her red flags.
The Danny across the table took a bite of his salad, and his face immediately scrunched up.
Maddie felt sick.
He swallowed, and Maddie could see his eyes watering. “Is there something wrong with the lettuce, Mom?”
She feigned innocence. “Hmm?”
“I don’t know,” he prodded a carrot on his plate. “Something just seems off.”
“Tastes fine to me,” Maddie said. “I just bought this lettuce today. Jazz, is yours okay?”
“Yeah,” she said.
Maddie suppressed a grin. She could always count on her “facts and research only” daughter.
“It could be the dressing? I used a new brand tonight. It’s healthier than the other stuff.”
That, or it was the small amount of blood blossoms she’d blended into the vinaigrette.
“Maybe.”
But it couldn’t end here. She needed to know. She was a scientist, she had to see the experiment through.
“Eat the rest of your salad, honey. I’ll buy the other brand tomorrow, okay?”
Danny carefully put another forkful of salad into his mouth. He gave a small wince, but swallowed.
“Good boy,” she said. “I have fudge in the fridge for when you’re done.”
“Oh, fudge?” Jack exclaimed. He shoveled the rest of his salad into his mouth. With a mouth full of food, he said, “Thanks, Mads! You’re the best!”
“You’re welcome sweetie!”
Jazz made a face. “Gross, Dad.”
Jack laughed and bantered back at his daughter, but Maddie had already tuned out of the conversation. Her only focus was on Danny, whose face was now just too flushed to be healthy. Still, he forced himself to eat.
There was just no question. No doubt about it.
No matter how Maddie looked at it, this was proof enough.
Danny Fenton wasn’t human. The portal hadn’t nearly killed him, it probably did kill him. And now here he was, pretending to still be a part of the family while using Phantom to distract them from the fact that he was a ghost.
It was a truly elaborate ploy. And if Maddie was anyone else, his plans probably would have worked.
But she was Maddie Fenton. She had a PhD in ectobiology. She’d been researching ghosts for twenty years.
Dinner ended, and the children went upstairs to do homework. Although, if Maddie looked, she was sure Danny wouldn’t actually be in his room. And if she went outside, like she’d done in nights past, there was no doubt she’d see Phantom soaring through the skies.
But she knew. She knew. She knew.
She slipped a white business card out of her jacket pocket, grabbed her cell off the counter, went into her bedroom, and dialed the number.
It rang once, then twice, then stopped. A deep voice sounded from the other line. “Maddie Fenton? I figured I’d be hearing back from you. Have you made your decision?”
“Yes.” Her voice was mechanical, as if she’d only called about a malfunctioning weapon. “I have. I agree to the partnership.”
“Excellent. And the terms are to your liking?”
“Yes.”
“Understood. We’ll be in touch tomorrow to sign the official contract. Will your husband be involved in this, or are you working alone?”
Maddie closed her eyes. “The contract will be for my name only.”
“All right, then. We’ll talk tomorrow. You won’t regret this.”
“I know.”

Out of Time (8)
First/Last
Read on AO3
Word Count: 4108
Previously: "Dan Phantom grew up to be one of the worst ghosts in the history of the Ghost Zone; he destroyed the world, and the ghost zone, multiple times over. In meeting you, he inadvertently created the one ghost powerful enough to stop him. He would have continued to raze the world if I hadn't saved your family, leaving no one left to stop him." Clockwork's smile fell, and dread started to pool in Danny's stomach again. "This paradox is the best shot of defeating him once and for all."
Danny nodded, feeling the crushing weight of his powers and responsibility. "Three outcomes?" he asked, bringing it back to Clockwork's original conversation.
"Three outcomes," Clockwork confirmed, frowning.
"One favourable," Danny finished, closing his eyes. Silence descended on the pair for a few minutes, Clockwork watching Danny's body stiffen as he slowly realized what that meant. "Clockwork," he said eventually in a small voice, looking up at the Time Master. "I'm not… I don't… survive this…. do I?"
Now: Danny meets with Valerie, Dani and Vlad.
Link to the next chapter will be in the replies once posted. As always - please let me know what you think!
---
"Okay, spill," Tucker said, glancing at Sam from the corner of his eye as he worked at the console. The girl in question looked at Tucker with wide eyes. "You've been mopey and distant ever since you came down here. Something must have happened." Sam sent him a weak glare of annoyance. Tucker chuckled quietly as he continued to type in code at the computer. He paused, looking at the screen in thought as he pulled up the shield schematics.
"Any luck?" Sam asked, breaking her silence.
Tucker sighed. "Kind of – I think we have the energy to create a shield of this size, but separating Danny's ecto-signature from his jerky self is difficult. I thought if we just used the sig from the booo-merang, it would be enough, but using that will either keep Danny out of the town or allow Dan to manipulate his way into it." He put his hands under his glasses and rubbed his eyes tiredly. "I mean, it would help if we could get Plasmius' ecto-signature and try and figure out ratios, but something tells me that's an even worse idea at the moment. The only good thing about all this is we know that they have different ecto-signatures. We still have no idea why or how… but the fact they do means we can figure this out." Tucker swivelled his chair to face his best friend beside him. "Now, what's eating you? I could use the break and your presence is dampening my mood."
Sam sent the boy another glare, but sighed as she realized he wasn't going to let this go. "I was upstairs looking at some photos, ran into Danny…" she said, blushing slightly at the memory.
Tucker sat straighter in seat, eyes gleaming with excitement as Sam shifted uncomfortably. "Wait – you told him!?" Tucker exclaimed, gathering a few strange looks from the ghosts in the basement.
"No!" Sam yelped back, her face completely pink from embarrassment. "And would you keep it down?!"
Tucker held up his hands as an apology and gestured for her to continue. "So what happened?"
Sam sighed. "We were talking, next thing I knew he was bringing up Nocturn and…" she trailed off, suddenly crestfallen. "I stopped him before he said anything he was going to regret."
Tucker blinked, mouth opening and closing from the cluelessness of both of his friends. "Let me get this straight… Danny, our Danny, the most clueless idiot on the planet when it comes to his own feelings, was about to tell you how he felt about you and you stopped him?!"
"Of course I did!" she shot back. "He has no idea what he's feeling right now with all of that time energy and the visions going through his head. Didn't you hear what Mrs. Fenton said? He's reliving parts of a timeline where we all died, Tucker. I don't want –"
"To get your hopes up," Tucker finished, pointing a finger at the girl. "Sam, all three of us know how you and Danny feel about each other. I've known longer than probably both of you even realized it. You've been doing this dance for almost two years. If he's finally coming to his senses, regardless of whatever is happening, I think you should be jumping for joy. Or whatever Goths do when they're happy."
Sam sat silent for second before sighing. "I asked him why now," she admitted quietly. "He said he wasn't afraid anymore." Tucker made some excited gestures in victory as she continued. "If Clockwork hadn't interrupted, I'm fairly certain he would have said something."
Tucker watched as Sam looked down, lost in thought. "Sam," he said kindly. "Do you want things to change?" Violet eyes met teal ones as Tucker pressed on. "Danny just told you he's not afraid anymore… so what are you afraid of?"
"Of him not coming back," she said softly, looking away. Tucker's eyes widened as the words tumbled out of her mouth. "He's choosing this moment, the one where he's about to face off a big enemy, to tell me. Why would he do that if he didn't think he'd make it?"
Tucker sighed, annoyed. "You idiot." Sam's head whirled back to her best friend at the insult. Tucker's face was serious, but his eyes sparkled with amusement. "The both of you. Sam – he knows what's at stake. Danny's not trying telling you to fulfill some stupid self-sacrifice ritual. He's trying to tell you to make sure he comes back. Sure he has a bazillion reasons but there's only one person that gives him the hope to fight through anything. He wants someone to fight for."
Sam stared at Tucker as his words sunk in. Tucker sighed as he turned his chair back to the screen in front of him. "Besides, if anything goes down, we're going out there to save his ass. The both of us - not just you lovebird. He's my best friend, I'm not going to let him lose to some jerkface. So stop being a Negative Nancy, go upstairs and tell our clueless Ghost Boy you like him."
Sam smiled, feeling more confident than she felt in a long time. "Thanks," she said quietly. Tucker smiled, not looking away from the screen and waved her off. She stood up, walked a few steps towards the staircase before stopping. She turned back to Tucker with an eyebrow raised. "Did you just say 'Negative Nancy?' What are you… 80?"
Tucker grimaced. "Shut up," he said, embarrassed. "I said what I said."
Sam chuckled a bit, turning, and came face to face with Clockwork. "Whoa!" she said, taking a few steps back. Tucker looked up at the pair, turning to face the mysterious time ghost with a small frown. "Clockwork! Is Danny still upstairs?"
Clockwork's red eyes looked over the human carefully, his face emotionless as ever as he floated toward the ground. "No," he said simply. Suddenly, he sighed. "I'm being summoned," he said, a hint of disdain and promptly vanished.
Sam and Tucker looked at each other in confusion as the world continued around them.
:-=-:
Green light illuminated Danny's face as he flew through Amity Park. He sighed, looking down toward the town; it had taken a lot for his parents to convince Vlad that the town was in danger and had agreed to up security. Now to add some more he thought as he continued to fly into the outskirts of Amity and into Elmerton, just under the shield.
There are only three possible outcomes here – only one of them is favourable.
Danny frowned as Clockwork's words came across his mind once again. It wasn't like he expected anything different; he knew that this battle would be difficult. He was literally his own worst enemy – powers, strategies everything. Well, almost everything. He shivered slightly as he remembered the coldness of Dan's voice threatening him. If there were three outcomes there had to be one of Dan winning. The jerk could take him out; in fact, he almost did a couple times already. There was also a possibility of him defeating Dan – though with the shield around the town and time energy attacking his core, that was looking pretty slim. Resignation filled the teen as he mulled over the last possible option before he shook his head; right now he had to focus.
Green eyes scanned the apartments below as he attempted to find the right building. Valerie's apartment should be around here somewhere. Danny landed onto the roof of the nearest building, crossing his arms in thought as he tried to remember her address. Without warning, blue sparks of energy coursed through him. Surprised, Danny let out a sharp groan of pain as he fell onto his knees, curling into himself. "Really?" he asked, annoyed as more time energy moved through his body.
The last time he had seen Valerie was the funeral. Why did she get to be so free? Why was it his burden? The hunter would pay; If his family was gone, maybe hers should follow.
Danny gasped as the vision left him, feeling ill as he tried to let the vision pass. He breathed hard, putting one hand out to steady himself as he felt more electricity come to the surface. "Not now," he said, pushing back against it. His core responded, flaring slightly as the energy started to dissipate. A few minutes later and Danny was left panting on the rooftop. "Still… not loving this," he grunted, finally regaining his bearings.
A whine of an ecto-gun from his right made him stiffen on instinct before he sighed heavily. His body relaxed slightly, feeling slightly more in control as he still knelt on the rooftop. "Hello Valerie," he said softly, not looking in her direction.
"Phantom," Valerie replied curtly, as she stopped the charging weapon. She floated in full ghost hunting gear, the red and black sled bobbing up and down in the wind. She put the gun in her holster, flying down to the rooftop and retracted her sled. The ghost in front of her still held his position on the ground, making her frown in confusion. "We've been looking for you."
Danny's head whipped up, looking at her through tired, confused eyes. "We?" he asked.
Valerie crossed her arms and cocked her hip. "Yo kid!" she yelled. "I found him!"
A grey and black blur flew upward toward them, landing next to Valerie gracefully. "Danny!" Danielle yelled, running over to her cousin quickly. "You're okay!" She threw her arms around the stunned boy in a large hug.
"Dani!" Danny exclaimed, standing slowly as the girl released him from the hug. Danny frowned worriedly as he looked between Danielle and Valerie. "What are you doing here? Are you okay?"
Valerie rolled her eyes, annoyed. "She's fine, I didn't hurt her," Valerie told him evenly. Dani frowned as she looked between the hunter and her cousin. "She got stuck here when you put up this stupid shield. She's staying at my place to avoid Plasmius."
Danny's eyes widened slightly, still frowning as he looked Danielle over. "How long have you been here?"
Danielle shrugged. "Almost a week," she said nonchalantly. Before Danny could protest, she pressed on. "Are you okay? We saw your fight on the T.V. yesterday. Who was that ghost? Why did you put the shield up? Who were the ghosts that helped you?"
Danny sighed tiredly, crossing his arms. He looked over at Valerie, who was surprisingly content to observe them. "I've been better," he told them cryptically. Valerie shifted and Danny saw her eyes move up and down, assessing him for any lies he may tell. "Had another run in with him last night too." Danny put a hand on Danielle's shoulder. "I'm glad you're here – honestly we could use the extra fire power." The younger girl beamed at him.
"Who's attacking the town?" Valerie asked bluntly, causing both ghosts to turn back to her.
Danny's face darkened. "A really long story," he replied. He caught Valerie's eye as the two teens stared at each other. Danny broke their gaze first, staring up at the shield. "He'll attack again tomorrow and I don't think this shield will last much longer."
Both Valerie and Danielle looked at him worriedly. "Danny, what are you talking about?" Danielle asked, confused. "The shield's been up for days! There's no way it'll break that easy."
Danny ignored her, looking directly at Valerie. "I need your help," he admitted. Valerie looked at him questioningly. "This ghost is something you have never faced before and will not hesitate to take out the town. If my shield goes, for whatever reason, I need you to protect it."
"I always protect the town," Valerie replied with a huff, looking away. Danielle looked at her quizzically, remaining silent as she looked between Danny and her new friend.
Danny sighed. "Valerie," he started, getting her attention again. "Regardless of what you think I am, Dan is much, much worse."
Valerie laughed. "Dan?" she asked. "Really? There are more of you named Danny Phantom?"
"Hey!" Danielle exclaimed indignantly. "I didn't ask for this name! Besides, I like it!"
Danny brought a gloved hand to his face and pinched the bridge of his nose, trying not to lose his temper. "We don't have time for this," he told her urgently. His hand hands flew outward, moving quickly as he tried to press on. "If my shield goes down tomorrow, take whatever weapons you have, and defend Amity Park. You need to destroy him; take him down with whatever means necessary."
Danielle gasped as Valerie looked at him with wide eyes. Phantom never destroyed a ghost in a fight – Valerie had been stopped by him multiple times for trying to do just that. The fact that he was here, almost begging her to do just that was a testament of how desperate he must be. They were silent for a long time, Danny's words weighing heavily. The ghost boy looked away from the two teens in front of him, while all three tried to figure out what to say next. It was Valerie who broke the silence.
"Where will you be?"
Danny laughed darkly at the question. "It doesn't really matter where I'll be," he said bitterly. "If that shield goes down, it means I failed."
Both girls gasped at his tone. "Danny, no!" Danielle cried, grabbing him around the middle. Danny looked at her, surprised. "Let me go with you!"
Danny smiled gently at his cousin and knelt beside her. "It'll be okay," he said reassuringly, hugging her back. "I need you here – Amity Park needs one Phantom that can kick ghost butt." He heard her laugh into his shoulder. Pulling away, he put his hands on her shoulders. "The Fentons are working on a shield to keep Dan out; you should be safe because they have your exact ecto-signature from the last time you were here. If my shield goes down, their shield will go up. I'm not alone in this." He looked at Valerie once more before looking to his young counterpart. "Stick with Valerie. She'll protect you."
Danny stood again, patting Danielle on the shoulder affectionately. Green met green as Danny locked eyes with Valerie once again, the latter finally realizing the gravity of the situation. "Hey Dani," she called. "Can you give us a minute?" Danielle glanced at both older teens apprehensively, Danny giving her a small nod of approval before she agreed.
Valerie waited until she felt Dani was far enough away before she addressed the boy in front of her. "You were right," she said directly. Danny's eyebrows rose in confusion. "About Vlad – I went back after I released you that night… he really is Plasmius huh?"
Danny observed Valerie carefully before letting out a long breath. He didn't look her in the eye. "Does he know?"
Valerie shook her head. "If he does, he hasn't come after me," she told him. Danny's shoulders relaxed slightly but said nothing. "You've worked with Plasmius before, haven't you?" Danny nodded. "Are you going to him next?"
Danny's arm found the back of his neck awkwardly. "Unfortunately," he said. "Vlad might be an insane mastermind, but he is mayor of the town and powerful to boot. The Fentons have already reached out to create a security plan – I'm headed there to ask him to defend the town too. I doubt he would give up a chance to be the 'Saviour of Amity Park.'"
Valerie took off her helmet, her long hair dropping to her waist as she regarded the ghost in front of her. Neither teen spoke for a few moments, just staring at each other from across the rooftop. "I've seen that look in your eye before," she said softly. Danny looked at her, confused. "During the Ghost King attack - you took my mask off in front of my Dad. Back then, I thought you wanted me out of the way to trick the town. I went looking for you afterwards, to kick your ghost butt back to the Ghost Zone… but you were gone for almost a week afterwards." The two teens locked eyes again. "You're going to face this…Dan, aren't you? Just like the Ghost King." Valerie shifted her tone into an accusation. "You're not here for another team up, you're here in case that ghost wastes you."
They stood in silence for a few minutes after that, before Danny wordlessly nodded. The dark skinned girl was taken aback by his honesty, how much older and tired he looked in that moment. He was injured, almost begging for her help. Snow white hair moved softly in the wind, making his green eyes spark with determination through whatever he must be going through. He was the reason she became a ghost hunter and vowed to destroy... willing to risk his afterlife for a town of humans. She didn't understand –couldn't understand - but regarded him with determined eyes anyway.
"Okay Phantom," she assured. "I'll protect Amity Park and Dani from anyone who wants to hurt them. If that shield goes down, I'll go after this Dan with whatever I got."
Danny's entire body relaxed as if a weight was lifted off his shoulders. Valerie observed him carefully as he masked any uncertainty he must feel in her presence. "Be ready," he told her before teleporting away.
Valerie stood tall as she scanned the shield around the town. The mantle was passed – all she had to do was wait. It wasn't until Danielle came back to the rooftop and asked her what's wrong that she realised she was crying.

Clockwork sighed heavily as he watched many Observants fly off in different directions. He moved slowly, hovering feebly as he made his way inside of the Observant Tribunal Headquarters. As he entered, many more Observants flew about, often yelling about the 'end of the world.'
"Clockwork! There you are!"
The Time Master sighed again as an Observant came into view. The large eyeball seemed to be more accentuated by the deep black collar of his robe. Clockwork kept his staff on the ground, holding himself in place as the Observant came toward him.
"Is there any news?" the Observant asked desperately.
"As I have told you the previous seven times you've summoned me here – no," Clockwork replied firmly. "There has been no change to the time stream, nor the events that are to come."
"Are you sure Clockwork?"
Clockwork scoffed irritably. "If I could see past a paradox, believe me, I would have told you by now." He gestured to his appearance. "Or at least make myself younger – these trips are becoming tiresome."
The Obersvant's eye narrowed. "Your powers are fading – just like ours." When Clockwork didn't respond, the Observant continued. "So this is truly the end of time? The boy will lose and Dan Phantom will rule the world once more?"
Red eyes rolled in exasperation. "How are you so sure he'll lose?" Clockwork asked, ignoring the question. "He's beaten him before."
"Because of your interference!" the Observant snapped. "Even you can't stop a paradox Clockwork! Once these two face off, your powers will be locked until it is all over."
Clockwork turned his back toward the Observant. "I know my role during a paradox," Clockwork said dangerously. "The next twenty four hours will determine the pathways to the future. Will the Observants face the future head on or run away like the cowards they are?" Clockwork looked up at the Observants flying frantically in every direction. "How many times have you all asked me to intervene to save the timeline? How many times I've refused? You have no right to lecture me when I only interfered because the Observants asked." Clockwork pressed a button on his staff, engulfing him in a blue light. "I will be there when Time recovers, as I have been for centuries – regardless of what happens in this paradox."
The Observant scoffed at Clockwork's tone. "Your fondness of the boy has clouded your judgement," he accused.
Clockwork's red eyes narrowed as he looked back toward the Observant. "My fondness has done nothing," he replied coldly. "Danny Phantom will face his future self once more and once it is all over, I will return to my duty as the Master of Time, regardless of the outcome. You, however, will continue to be blinded by your fear and hatred." Clockwork looked up at the frantic ghosts one last time in disdain before he disappeared.
:-=-:
Dan's eyes were closed as he felt more shadows appear in front of Amity Park. His army was growing, made more powerful by his undeniable rage he felt for his younger self. How has the boy scraped by so easily, Dan thought angrily, eyes opening as he flew upward. He could see the shadows at the shield, ready to attack once he gave the signal.
The boy still had twelve hours left before they attacked. He observed the shield calculatingly, trying to find a weak point to destroy any pitiful resistance that the humans of Amity Park would attempt.
Danny will rue the day he locked me in that infernal thermos.
:-=-:
As he touched down in the Mayor's office, Danny grabbed hold of the closest solid object he could find and doubled over, gasping. His vision swam slightly, vaguely seeing a mass of ghosts attacking the shield as he tried to desperately focus on the task at hand. He felt the sparks of electricity run through his body again, grimacing at the now common event.
"It's about time, Daniel," the annoyed voice of Vlad Masters brought him into focus. Vlad turned at his desk, glaring at the young ghost. "Now, care to tell me what the hell is going on?" Danny said nothing, not quite catching his breath. He fell onto his knees, transforming back into Danny Fenton in the process. Vlad's face shifted from annoyed to concerned quickly, standing up slowly as he regarded the boy in front of him. Danny blinked rapidly, shaking his head as if he was trying to focus, panting from exertion. Vlad could sense the exhaustion the boy felt from where he stood, and sighed heavily. The man walked over to the wall and turning his hand intangible, he stuck it through, pressing a button. In an instant, the wall parted, revealing a steel blue safe. Vlad opened it and pulled out a small black pouch with Phantom's logo on it.
Finally making his way over to the teen, Vlad knelt in front of Danny. "Here," he said gently, helping the boy into the armchair that he was currently gripping for dear life. Once seated, Danny deflated slightly, finally starting to calm down.
"Vlad?" Danny asked, confused.
Vlad frowned as he watched Danny closely; the young half-ghost's breathing finally became normal, but was still quite weary. "Daniel," Vlad said softly. "You've had the shield up for four days now. It's exhausting your core; if you keep this up –"
"I know," Danny said, cutting him off. "But I need to keep them out."
Vlad's frown deepened at the boy's insistence. "What's going on?" Vlad pressed again.
Danny sighed heavily. "Apart from an evil version of me from the future trying to kill everyone I care about and the end of time?"
Vlad blinked, nonplussed, before regaining his thoughts. "You mean to tell me that the evil ghost that's been causing havoc both here and the ghost zone is you? Goody two-shoes Danny Phantom?" he asked incredulously.
"It's a long story," Danny replied ominously, looking away. "A lot had happened."
"Really? Did someone steal your thermos?" Vlad asked sarcastically.
Danny's head whipped forward and glared at the man in annoyance. "More like an explosion killed my friends and family, got sent to live with my cheesehead arch-enemy, asked you to rip out my ghost half who went crazy and merged with your ghost half and destroyed the world," he told the older man darkly.
Vlad blinked as the boy's words sank in, leaving a small silence in its wake. "And you know this how exactly?"
"Clockwork."
"The Master of Time?" Vlad asked incredulously. "You do get around, don't you."
Danny ignored him. "I stopped him once," he continued. "In an alternate timeline. But he exists out of the time stream-"
"Creating a paradox?" Vlad surmised. Danny nodded. "How far in the future are we talking here?"
"10 years."
"Meaning he also had my powers for 30 years," Vlad mused. He looked at his rival young again, noting how rigid the boy was in front of him. "How did you beat him last time?"
Danny looked away slightly, avoiding the question. "Vlad…" the younger half ghost gripped the arms of the chair harshly. "If the shield goes down… I need you to protect the town."
"Daniel?" Vlad was worried at the sudden shift in tone. Steely blue eyes watched as Danny shifted tiredly, grimacing at some unseen force wracked his small frame.
"Promise me," Danny said, looking at the older hybrid desperately. "He'll go after my parents, Jazz, Sam, Tucker. If I'm not strong enough-"
"Not strong enough? Daniel what on earth-" Vlad stopped, wide eyed as he realized what this was. "Daniel, no - I don't care what infernal complex you may have, but facing that ghost the way you are now? That's suicide."
"It's the only way," Danny said softly, shaking his head. Vlad scoffed at his tone. "Vlad, he basically has my ecto-signature. There can't be two of us in one time stream. The only way time can move forward again is if I face him."
"Alone?" Vlad sneered. "Contrary to what you believe little badger, the world does not rest on your shoulders."
"Vlad," Danny started, letting out a large breath. "He has an army – look at me. You and I both know I have no chance alone. Mom and Dad have a plan, so all I need to figure out is to get past to face him - just to make the time lines restart. When that happens, hopefully we'll figure out how to destroy him once and for all."
Vlad raised an eyebrow, questioningly. "We? Are you asking for my help?"
"Dammit Plasmius!" Danny exclaimed, stunning the billionaire at the outburst. Vlad took a few steps back at the sudden volume. "You think I want this? You think I like knowing there's an evil version of me waiting to destroy my friends and family and me? You think I wanted to come here today to beg you to save my family?" Danny's eyes lit up green in frustration. "Fine! I'm begging you, please: When my shield falls; protect my family and friends okay? Happy?! Do what you can to destroy him. You hear me? Whatever it takes."
They sat in stunned silence for a few moments, Danny's chest heaving from his outburst as he started to calm down.
Vlad recovered first, swallowing slightly.
"You said when," he said quietly. Danny looked away from the man. "Danny, you said when your shield falls. Not if." Danny stayed quiet, confirming Vlad's suspicions. The white haired man sighed, resigned to the boy's decision. "You have my word."
Danny deflated, nodding in acceptance. A heavy silence enveloped the room, neither half-ghost speaking. Vlad moved tentatively toward Danny, kneeling next to the boy once more. "Here," Vlad told him. He offered the small pouch he took from the safe to the teen. "I had these created after our run in with the Ghost King."
"What are they?"
"I call them Ecto-Enhancers," Vlad explained. "Think of them like an energy drink." He unzipped them and showed the teen three syringes, all glowing neon green. "They'll give your powers a bit of an extra boost when you're exhausted or hurt. It'll give your body a chance to recover if you're using a lot of energy. Only use them for extreme circumstances; use one every few hours." Danny nodded, taking the pouch. Vlad stood up, turning his back to the teen. Silence descended on the pair once more for a few minutes before Vlad broke it. "Daniel…" he started, before sighing, shaking his head. "Are you sure about this? Facing him?"
"Not like I have a choice," Danny mumbled. Vlad heard the teen grunt behind him. He turned to see to boy standing. "I should get going. Thanks for the Ecto-Enhancers."
"Danny wait," Vlad said, stopping the younger halfa in his tracks. They stared at each other for a second, neither speaking. There was so much Vlad wanted to say to the boy; they were so similar and yet so different. Eventually, Vlad broke the silence with a sigh. "Be careful."
A look of confusion washed across Danny's face briefly before it changed into a sad, guarded mask. Vlad saw it now; Danny's reserved acceptance of his fate, the understanding that he'll probably never make it out of whatever disaster awaits him. A small nod was all Vlad got as Danny transformed and flew out of the office.

Phantom was currently drifting on the Ghost zone trying to hunt down his next unsuspecting victim among the ghosts.
‘Oh, how the turn tables.’ the halfa chuckled.
Jazz had kept her word and after pulling an all-nighter they had come up with some interesting options.
Now he just needed to pull them off.
The sound of growling at his back made him freeze on his tracks. He turned around to look at the source of the sound.
“Oh,” Well, this certainly had not been on the plans. To stumble upon such a mighty beast this early on. He smiled. “Hi, Cujo!”
The happy barking that followed the greeting was rather endearing, normally whenever he crossed paths with the pup he would spare some time to play with him and teach him some tricks. After some months of the pup following him around and of the halfa trying to deny to anyone who would listen, especially Val, that the dog was not really his, Danny finally gave up and got him a new collar.
The little guy was quite spoiled nowadays.
Sadly, right now he was on a timeline.
“Sorry, bud. No playtime today, I’m on a rather tight schedule.” Phantom cooed softly, reaching down to briefly scratch behind the pup’s ears.
Cujo sat on his hind legs, paws in the air and tail wagging, effectively cutting off his path.
Not like he couldn’t try to fly around, mind you, but with a dog that could go gigamax on your ass, it was better to just talk your way out.
Just when Danny was about to open his mouth the pup upgraded to excited wiggling on the non-existent floor of the zone.
The halfa sighed to himself. Fond smile growing without his explicit permission.
“Cujo-” he tried, just to be interrupted again. “And there goes the whining, Oh. My. God.”
The boy covered his face with his hands, not daring to look until the sounds stopped completely. After a moment, he finally took a peek from between his fingers.
Sad, puppy dog eyes were looking up at him, small little whine making a comeback.
Fucking shit.
He was going soft.
-.-.-.-
“Match head.”
The sound of the nickname momentarily dragged Ember’s full attention from the tuning of her guitar to the new arrival.
“Baby Pop.” She took notice of the green puppy posing as a hat on the white-haired boy’s head and snorted, eyes going back to the guitar. “Blessed the eyes. You going Cruella on us now or what?”
“Please,” The boy jested. “Like we need a remasterized skulker around here.”
“At least the woman did it for fashion.” She hummed. “You would make a horrid carpet, you are too fucking skinny.”
“Excuse you, bitch.” Phantom shot back, irritation clear on his voice. Ember rejoiced on it.
She faked a gasp,“ Are you saying you want Skulky to make you into a rug, baby pop? Scandalous!”
“T-that’s not-!” the halfa spluttered before Ember cut him off.
“What do you want, cupcake? It’s not like you to venture so far into the Zone willingly unless you are looking for blood.” She questioned, carefully putting her guitar back in the case.
The boy huffed.
“Whatever, Ashley,” he grumbled under his breath. “I think it’s time we revisited the terms of our agreement ” The boy sat by her side nonchalantly, not noticing — or outright ignoring — the sudden rise in temperature as the girl’s blue hair flared violently, a deep frown marring her face.
Cujo did notice. But the little doggo was more distracted with the movement of the pretty light-emitting hair, and the fluffiness of the hair on his current method of transportation to register the imminent danger to his fur.
Priorities.
“Revisit? You want to fucking revisit?” She growled. “I will tell you what you can fucking revisit-!”
The halfa just laughed at her reaction. Ember’s hair doubled in length. The laughter died off.
Her hand was getting dangerously close to her guitar.
Danny swallowed hard, deciding to just get on with it before Ember tried to use the instrument as a wanna-be war hammer again.
“It’s quite the contrary, my dear flaming hot,” he rushed to appease her “I want to expand on it,” he said, throwing in a sickeningly sweet smile for good measure.
He hoped it was enough to regain her attention in a more positive light. He didn’t want to explain to Jazz why his ghost form’s eyebrows were singed off. Again. He didn’t have time for more lectures. Thank you.
Luckily, If the hair-inferno reducing to a cheerfully blazing bonfire and the growing smirk taking over ember’s face was any indication he had succeeded. Cujo whined for the loss. Danny wanted to squeal for the win.
He did not. But it was a very close thing.
“Oh ho, now we are talking, baby pop.”
-.-.-.-
The window of opportunity to pull this off was very small. He had to take into account the amount of time that had passed since the last fight, the reason for the aforementioned fight, and how much of an emotional investment the objective really held for it to be a proper detonator.
This operation required surgical precision, which meant a lot of preparation. And research.
It was a good thing it happened so often.
“I will be direct with you, sister,” Phantom spilled, sprawling himself on the free seat on Kitty’s right side. “your bitch boyfriend doesn’t know the jackpot he hit with you and that just ain’t gonna fly.”
knowing where Kitty would end up after a fight with Johnny was not a problem. tracking down which bar she was going to be crashing for the aftermath was the real problem.
Danny hadn’t even known there were bars in this place.
In the last months of his treaty with one Ember Mclain, he had learned plenty of- interesting facts about the Zone that he would prefer to forget. Not that he really had an option, Jazz had taught him early on that information on the enemy — and sometimes on friends —was a valuable asset to ensure victory.
So he would play dumb about knowing these things. But he would not forget about them.
Couldn’t afford to forget them.
If the Ghost Writer pulled another surprise quiz on him and the answers were less than perfect the man would riot.
The halfa stretched out a hand to take a menu and leaned his elbows against the bar-top. Cujo chose that moment to leave his position on the teen’s head to sit next to his forearm so he could peer at the menu too.
He skipped the drinks section and went straight to the food. There was no way he was getting any alcohol.
Don’t get him wrong. They would serve him whatever the fuck he wanted if he asked for it on the zone, but the teen had tasted it before and hated it with a passion. Fuck the peer pressure. Never again. Good for when you are sad? Bitch, just get ice cream. Maybe he should have asked Ember for Kitty’s favorite flavor and save himself the hassle. Oh well.
Too late now.
Danny chose his order but decided to risk a look at the drinks for non-alcoholic options while he waited for Cujo to paw at whatever he wanted.
Kitty, who had been spluttering and getting progressively redder since he made his entrance, was about to smack him upside the head because even if it was true the brat shouldn’t just go saying it like it was any of his goddamn business. They were in the middle of a crowded bar, these people didn’t need any more confirmation for her relationship problems. Couldn’t she keep some dignity?
Before her hand could connect though, a pair of arms surrounded her, bringing her firmly into a backward hug against a warm chest.
A very familiar warm chest.
Startled, she looked up to stare into fiery green eyes.
“Cool it kitten,” Ember purred, clad in a leather jacket that was, most likely, scammed off some unfortunate soul. Still. She looked damn good. Kitty got so tongue-tied she couldn’t manage to even begin to stutter a response, let alone a protest. Danny took advantage of Ember’s intervention to finally place his first order. “Babycakes is right.” Ember continued, effectively cutting off all the air from kitty’s sails once and for all, because really, Ember was her best friend and if there was anyone who knew exactly how many times Johnny and Kitty had fought it was the blue-haired girl.
Kitty let out a defeated sigh and wiggled a little on the embrace to settle into it properly. Might as well get the best out of this-
“Oh, they have frappes!” Phantom trilled in awe. Kitty twitched.
If only Phantom would go away. Ugh. She couldn’t deal with males right now.
“Can’t you leave that thing alone?” Hissed Ember, who had seen the teen open the conversation with her kitty kat just to completely ignore her right after in favor of the menu. The bitch boy needed to focus, they were supposed to be on a mission here.
“Hey! You were the one calling me skinny earlier!” Remarked the teen, only to get a raised eyebrow back from the rockstar.
“As if a single frappe is going to fix that. Give me that!” She sneered at him and snatched the laminated paper from his hands. Phantom tried to snatch it back and failed. So he resorted to pouting and tried to give her the sad puppy dog eyes.
It wasn’t going to work with the matchstick, he knew, but it was good practice.
To pull this shit with Ember you had to be either Kitty, Youngblood, or an honest-to-god puppy. He was not risking ticking off Kitty more than he already had. Youngblood was not here — for obvious reasons—. Cujo was here and didn’t hate him, but sadly the dog wouldn’t be any help right now.
The pup was already accepting belly rubs from the waiters and completely ignoring the world around him.
Again: Priorities.
So really, Danny was just doing this for the sake of being extra.
While Ember and Danny continued with their dramatic standoff, the other girl blinked rapidly and turned her head towards Phantom.
“Oh” Kitty’s bad mood banished almost magically in favor of curiously peering at the teen’s figure. Danny fidgeted on his seat apprehensively.“I hadn’t noticed. You are really lean.” Ember snickered. Cujo — coming back from the belly rub induced coma — barked. Phantom sighed and just accepted defeat.
“I suppose that’s somewhat better-” He grumbled under his breath.
Kitty allowed a tiny smile to escape from her lips but shook herself slightly to get back on track. “What are you two even doing here anyway?” She asked, alternating glances between them.
“Pretty sure you already know,” Ember answered, rubbing her cheek against kitty’s green hair and sending A Look at Phantom. “Because someone is not subtle. at. all.” She ended with a hiss and a flare of her hair. Kitty winced lightly at the confirmation. Phantom rolled his eyes.
“Oh, Cry me a table, matchstick.”
Kitty knew alright. Ember made it her personal business to get involved in whatever petty fight Kitty got into, more so if it was about Johnny.  Phantom getting involved in the aftermath — and not the fight itself — was new though.“It was just another stupid fight. And- You know, his obsession-”
“Nope. That’s no excuse, Kath.” Ember cut her off. “If you can work around yours for him, then so can he.”
“You can do better.” The teenage boy agreed while Ember continued squeezing her.
“What do you suggest then?”
Phantom and Ember exchanged a look, mirth flashing in their glowing green eyes and matching smirks growing bold, they turned to look back at Kitty. The green-haired girl gulped down her growing unease. In her experience, these two banding together was never a good thing for anyone.
“We are here to talk to you about the Remember Initiative.”
-.-.-.-
“Such a skinny boy!”
“Hey! I’m just lean-!” Phantom let out a yelp as he ducked under yet another juice box “What’s with you people and your obsession with my weight-! Ugh! If you would just listen-! Wait. Is that apple grape?” He said the last part in a hushed rush, looking in silent awe at one of the little juice boxes she was about to throw his way.
The Lunch Lady preened.
“Boxy got them for me! 100% Juice Fruit guaranteed!” She was radiating smugness about these facts.
“Oh my gosh- Wait! NO. That’s not what I came here for!” Danny managed to shake himself out of his stupor just in time to keep evading the Lady’s attempts to shove a spoon full of food down his throat while he was distracted with the juice.
The last time she had gotten a hold of him he had ended up feeling like one of his mom’s thanksgiving turkeys. Danny gulped. Best to just go for it and hope for the best.
“Did you know that there are 37.2 million people living in food-insecure households?!”
The screamed question froze the lunch lady on her tracks. At the look of horror his words achieved, he decided to keep going.
“1 in 6 American children don’t even know where their next meal is coming from.”
The lunch lady let out a horrified gasp, “Those poor children-!”
And with that, the woman exchanged her attempts at stuffing him for furious-but-mournful whisperings. She looked really constipated about this new information. Danny almost felt sad. Almost.
“There is a way to help, you know?”
The lunch lady’s head snapped back towards the half-ghost, eyes narrowed in a glare. Not the usual I’m-going-to-choke-your-skinny-ass-in-food glare, but an I’m-paying-attention-to-your-skinny-ass glare.
Danny refrained from openly cheering after sensing his upcoming victory. Better not chance it.
“Have you ever heard about old San Nicolas?”
-.-.-.-
“You know,” Danny murmured, slurping noisily from one of his juice boxes as he watched from a safe distance how Johnny and Skulker got wrecked by a pair of cute-murderous-girls, “I wasn’t expecting that to work so well.”
His only response was a pair of little barks from the green puppy that was happily squirming on his lap.
The boy paused on his watch to look down at Cujo. Danny extended one of his hands towards the puppy to carefully try to swat at him. The cub rolled onto his back and trapped Danny’s upcoming fingers between his paws with a playful growl, giving little nibbles to the appendage.
He couldn’t help the giddy giggles that escaped him.
Those little paws were precious.
At the sound of high pitched screams Danny’s head snapped back up to continue watching the ongoing smackdown, surrendering complete possession of his hand to Cujo to do as he pleased.
If the Initiative didn’t work out, both girls would do awesome on the wrestling circuit. Not like Ember lacked in the costume department.
Speaking of costumes, he wondered if the match stick would let him borrow her feathered hat. That thing was awesome.
Better just ask.
Once she was done throwing down with skulker, of course.
He was not about to become cannon fodder.
Priorities.
-.-.-.-
“Ahoy! me fellow comrades!! Your future Cap'n ’s talking!! I’m here on a recruiting mission to embark on the most perilous dangers of the Realms!! May ye, dear comrades, embark under your own risk! Arrrgh!! ”
Thanks to Youngblood’s presence the main residential area of Phantom’s keep was starting to become complete disarray. The adult ghosts were frantic for the possible kidnapping of the tiniest ghosts that was most likely going to happen. The children amongst them were cheering for the possible playtime in their future.
The guards were starting to panic. No one had seen the kid enter, much less bring along that enormous ship of his. The little brat was not supposed to be here!
“Who the freaking hell let Young Blood get in?!” One of the guards hollered.
“It’s fine, I invited him.” Came the cheerful reply from behind the guard. “I’m expanding the lair so the kids have more space to mess around. Just don’t tell them.”
The ghost was startled at the voice but didn’t panic anymore. Instead, they started to relax. They knew that voice, but they needed to confirm-
“P-Phantom?”
Phantom, in full cosplay and sporting the biggest feathered pirate hat on this side of the realms, landed lightly beside the startled ghost with a little chuckle, “Just play along, man.”
“Also, pretty sure there should be a ‘Lord’ in there somewhere.”
“I-I thought you preferred to not be called that, my lord?”
Phantom winced.
“Ah- No. It’s- You know what? Never mind, I keep forgetting you guys don’t really get updates of pop culture on this side of the coin” Phantom frowned. “I really should see about getting some wifi for this place”
He continued to murmur about the updates he would need to do to the tech to make that possible. But the guard was not paying attention to his words anymore.
They were staring speechless at the whole pirate get-up the halfa had managed to assemble. It had been mostly borrowed last minute — not that the guard knew that—. It looked really good. Especially the gold hoop earrings that kept swaying slightly alongside the fluffy white hair with every motion of Phantom’s head.
The guard let out a dreamy sigh.
Their Lord was so cute.
“How is everything going?”
“Wha-?” Getting suddenly pulled out of their daydreaming
“The preparations?” Danny hummed distractedly, diligently searching for his journal and pen among the numerous layers of clothing he had donned for the occasion. Why the fuck did this thing have so many pockets?
“Oh,” Came the ghost’s soft exclamation, suddenly remembering the requests the owner of the keep had left the last time he had come around. Finally emerging victorious from his search, Phantom turned to look at them, raising an eyebrow at the lack of proper explanation “Oh, yes! Everything is going smoothly, and we received the last confirmations this morning, sir.”
Danny smiled at the answer, completely unaware of the effect his playful smile had on the guard and the other ghosts that had started to converge there upon seeing their ‘landlord’. “Awesome.”
That was the last one.
-.-.-.-
Well, almost the last one.
He must admit that the shell shocked expressions on Sam and Tucker were funny the first few minutes.
But after having to repeat himself over and over again it had gotten increasingly less funny.
“Y-you are leaving?” Tucker stuttered.
Danny sighed, “Yes, we are leaving. As in, Jazz and me.”
After gaping at him for another few seconds, Sam finally gathered herself enough to start talking again.
“what about the ghost?”
“I- um- already took care of that,“ Danny mumbled, nervously avoiding eye contact while playing with his milkshake straw. “I also cashed in some debts and asked some favors from my allies, so most will be taken care of until we come back. Either way, I will leave enough Fenton Tech for the both of you and Val. Just in case.”
“Enough tech?” Sam repeated incredulously. “That’s it? Just leave some tech and jump boat just like that?” Danny frowned but refrained from answering her until he thought it through. Sam wouldn’t accept less.
Jump boat? That was not really the case. Jazz and he had really put some thought into this, heck even before the Internship on Loony Capital had come up — specifically, since Jazz’s breakthrough — the siblings had already been toying with ways to get some of the most persistent ghosts to back the fuck off, distract them with better and useful targets or entice them into submission.
At first, it had been a tentative thing, something fragile that they didn’t let themselves hope for. But with Jazz’s change of course of action, it had become something more urgent.
They had to pull it off. There were no other options.
Danny pursed his lips, then took a deep breath to strengthen himself for what was coming. “That’s not it-”
“You are just going to dump us.” She announced like it was final in a harsh whisper.
At least she was keeping her tone quiet.
“No one is getting dumped, Sam,” Danny tried to reassure her in the same tone of finality, sans the harshness. “I told you. We already thought this through. I already put some plans in motion and rigged some backups and- ok. Meaby they are not good enough to be permanent but-”
“You are going to put everyone at risk just because Jazz somehow got the ridiculous idea that ‘talking it out’ is the answer” She scoffed.
“Maybe it is. Maybe not. We won’t know until we try.”
“They are ghosts-”
“So am I.” Danny Interjected. Sam seemed to choke on her next words.
“You are not a ghost Danny.” She had, somehow, gained a tone even more quiet and harsh than her previous one.
“Aren’t I?” He was looking directly into her amethyst eyes. Daring her to fight him on this.
He already knew she wouldn’t.
She had opened her mouth to rebut but closed it immediately after. She took a long breath; most likely to prepare for her next rant than to calm herself. Weighing her options. She didn’t seem willing to have that particular conversation. Not yet. Danny had counted on that. “It’s still a goddamn risk.” She finally countered, a slight sliver of defeat coloring her words.
Maybe he had been a little harsh, but he needed her to understand. “There is risk in every choice I could make. This is not different-”
“What about us?”
Ok, so she was just getting her second wind. Fucking amazing. “Sam, please-”
“We are your friends!”
“And she is my sister!” He finally snapped.
She startled. Gazing at him speechless for a moment before standing up and storming out of her seat without a backward glance, making the people on her way part like the red sea. Leaving in her wake a bunch of curious persons staring after her and throwing shameless glances to their table.
So much for not causing a scene in the middle of the Nasty Burger.
The boys ignored the stares. They were already accustomed to being the focus of attention. Almost never positive, mind you. But that was what cleansings were for.
Tucker, who had been silent for most of the back and forth, finally spoke.
“She just needs time to cool off.”
The Fenton boy would be lying if he said he hadn’t seen this coming. Sam had always been very opinionated and believed herself to be right most of the time. In her defense, she usually was right and knew how to go about expressing it to her friends without resorting to this kind of standoff. This just appeared to have struck a nerve.
Living with her parents and having to fight for every single choice she wanted to make had left her on a constant defense mode that the boys had learned to navigate in their years of friendship. It hadn’t been easy for anyone. But neither Danny nor Tucker were perfect. They had their quirky shit to deal with.
The three of them stuck together and hadn’t bothered to try and expand their friend group that much over the years. Not like they had many options. But that was ok.
Until now.
With Danny leaving them the relative feeling of a support system was trembling at its foundation.
She was probably scared. So was Tucker if the wobbly but sincere smile he was giving him was any indication.
Danny had to admit that when he let himself think about it he got scared too.
They had been in the same boat for a while and parting ways was not something they had accounted for, not for the near future, at least.
In a weird way, they still would be in the same boat even after they were apart. Struggling to learn how to function without the other there.  Sam and Tuck would have each other, they were resilient, he was sure they could cope. He would have Jazz like he always had, enough said. And they would keep going like they always did.
Tucker was right. She would come around. But-
Danny slumped on his seat, running a hand through his hair releasing a big sigh.
“Yeah, I know” He murmured looking pensively in the direction their friend had stormed off. “Doesn’t mean I have to like it.”
“So, you are not mad?” Danny asked when he finally turned around towards Tucker.
“Nah, man. Just a little squeezy about dealing with this without you. But if your sister is really going to do this she is going to need you there.” Tucker shuddered a little bit. “I have never been there personally but if the social media and forums are not lying Gotham is a goddamn beast dude.”
The halfa hummed in agreement. Not like Amity Park didn’t have its own reputation on their corner of the internet, but still.
Gotham.
Danny took a sip from his milkshake before doing a mental check-list and frowning, “I’m starting to feel like I’m forgetting something” he whispered.
“Oh god, please don’t say that.”
“It’s okay,” Danny had made his best at planning, so his friends wouldn’t have to deal with the ghost in his absence. But with things like this, you never knew for sure. Not until it slapped you right across the face.“Probably just the paranoia.” ‘I hope’ he finished mentally with a weak laugh.
“Dude,” Tucker started before taking hold of his friend’s hand and squeezing it. “If you need help with anything I’m your man. just say the word.”
Tucker may not understand the full extent of the situation, but he was trying, and that meant a lot to the Fenton. He squeezed back and shot his friend a small but grateful smile.
“It’s ok. Thanks, Tuck-” He cut himself off, being interrupted by the sudden ding of one of Tucker’s devices.
The afro American boy ignored the sound though, in favor of putting his full attention on his friend, an action that demonstrated how serious he was with his words, but Danny was already lost in thought, staring intently at the briefly, but brightly, illuminated screen.
“Actually-” The halfa suddenly chirped, turning his full attention back to the boy across the table. Tucker just blinked back, waiting. Danny leaned forward dragging the other boy towards him so he could continue with a whisper. “You could help me with a pair of things.”
The mischievous smile Tucker was witnessing had come out of nowhere and couldn’t presage anything good, but as it was not aimed at him — necessarily — he couldn’t help but join in.
Several cities over, some of Gotham’s more infamous residents couldn’t find an explanation to the sudden shiver that ran up their spines.
-.-.-.-
When Danny made it back home he didn’t waste time tracking his sister down. She was down in the lab, typing away on the main computer and using one of her shoulders to keep her mobile pressed against her ear.
She was in the middle of a conversation and still managing to rewrite part of the ghost portal code like a pro.
His sister sure loved multitasking.
At the sound of the door closing behind the younger Fenton, Jazz looked up from the screen to shoot a brief smile to her brother before carrying on with her conversation.
“Yes. That’s perfect, I will be sending the three files then-”
The boy froze on his step and blinked a pair of times. She was already talking with one of the G. A. proctors? When he left this morning he had just dumped his proposals on Jazz for a second revision. He wasn’t expecting to have them sent already.
Hmm. Well, to be fair, he had rambled at Jazz about his projects relentlessly whenever he had a chance and didn’t feel like death warmed over.
Which weren’t many times. But once he got into a ramble it was an Olympic endeavor to shut him up. He was a Fenton. It was in their blood. Jazz did it too, even if she tried to chalk it up to healthy-and-completely-natural excitement.
So. Jazz already knew the contents pretty well, it was just a question of pulling off the presentation, which was the thing that Jazz was supposed to check over.
His sister had given him some tips, and even if his parents were not as invested in the writing process as in the practical, the fruit loop had more than enough experience doing it and didn’t give two flying fucks over whether or not Danny wanted his knowledge.
Danny knew monologing was an essential part of a villainous experience but he had spent way too much time listening to Vlad bitch about most of his employees to last him a lifetime.
Even little Madeline couldn’t stop the loneliness that had brought the madness. Danny had put so many hopes in the fluffy thing.
Letting out a resigned sigh the boy decided to just let it go and be grateful that his sister - who had more than five Universities fighting over her-  deemed it acceptable already.
He liked writing his ideas down, but using formal language and fudging APA was fucking exhausting.
Good fucking riddance. He thought, shaking his head slightly and sending a light sneer in the computer’s direction. As if the files on it could feel his disdain from his position on the other side of the room.
Danny spotted some of her sister’s nail polish bottles by her side on the table and made a beeline for them and took most of the little bottles before retreating to a chair on the other side of the desk.
He had heard some of the cheerleaders saying that the nail polish helped to keep the nails from getting all fucked up quite as easily, and it had caught his attention.
Danny had looked down at his hands and winced. Normally he didn’t pay much attention to his nails, but ever since getting on a constant string of fights he was more aware of how easily the goddamn things could break on you if you didn’t trim them properly, and it hurt like a bitch every time. It always seemed to be the tiniest things that told you to ‘fuck off’ to your face like nothing else.
Danny guessed that it was worth the try. And if anything, putting some color on them would help hide some of the blood — and ectoplasm — that got under his fingernails.
So he tried it out.
By this point, he was not sure if it really helped or he was just fooling himself into thinking it did work. The only sure thing was that he didn’t feel comfortable going without it anymore.
Danny liked to borrow the clear nail protector from Jazz, but most of the polish he had in his possession had been previously Sam’s. All pastels and cheery colors that her mom kept insisting on buying her because they kept being used.
“Thank you, Miss Gordon!”
If she had bothered to pay more attention to her daughter’s friends for more than sneering at them she may have noticed Danny’s pastel pink nails. But she hadn’t. And that had just ensured Danny a constant supply of pastels to cover his bloodied nails with-
“So, how did it go?”
“Uh.” The boy startled at the sudden proximity of the voice. He looked up from his nails and to his sister, who was now seated beside him.
“The execution.” Jazz prodded, smiling at him in anticipation. It looked downright creepy, considering the words she used.
“Seriously Jazz?” He snorted. “You make it sound like I went there to dispatch murder at random.”
“Don’t be ridiculous.” His sister scoffed, watching how her brother resumed painting his nails.  “They are already dead. You couldn’t kill them any more than they already are.”
“I could certainly try.”
“Danny-”
“Let’s just say the all-nighter paid off, and leave it at that.”
“So you had fun.” She teased. Stealing back one of the bottles of polish to finish her own nails with a second coat.
“For the most part, but-” He stopped, struggling to find words to describe the sheer mayhem that went down in the zone-
Jazz just hummed and gave him a little nod, still focusing on her nails. Danny relaxed. He could tell her later. When he had cooled off some more from the attack-protect mode he got into whenever he visited the zone. Remembering it all right now would just set him off again.
“So, what do you want for dinner?” The redhead asked suddenly.
Danny blinked a pair of times, perplexed, and stole a look at the clock.“It’s a little late to be asking that, don’t you think?”
“I suppose, but I decided to wait for you and then got sidetracked with the files.” She really needed to work on her awareness of time. “Didn’t even notice the hour.”
“I don’t even remember what we have in the cupboards.”
“Maybe we could-” She didn’t manage to suggest something before she got interrupted by their mother’s voice.
“Dinner is ready!”
“They made dinner?” Danny whispered to Jazz in dread.
“So it seems,” she responded, sharing his dread.
“Why did they make dinner? They never make dinner!”
“I mean, they do for special occasions, like-” She shuddered. “Like thanksgiving.”
This was ridiculous. Jazz and he were normally the ones cooking. Their parents spent most of their time in the lab or trying to hunt down ghosts. Today was not a holiday. They hadn’t invented anything new worth the ‘celebration’. There wasn’t a reason for them to-
“Oh! and Vlad is here~!”
Danny slammed his face against the desk with a groan.
Jazz winced at the sound.
“Time to face the music, little bro” She closed the polish bottles and patted him carefully on the back a few times before standing up and going to the kitchen.
“I still feel like I’m forgetting something…” Danny grumbled under his breath before following his sister upstairs.
-.-.-.-
It was the last Friday of the month and this could perfectly be one of Jazz’s many attempts to make them a functional family unit.
Except that the Fenton girl had let said efforts slip in favor of pursuing her little brother’s scholarship.
Oh, And the fruitloop was here.
Vlad had weaseled into the family’s — unplanned — plans because of course, he did.
“Everything looks absolutely lovely Madeline.”
Jazz would have believed his words. If she hadn’t seen the man poke at the food on the table with the wariness of a man on the death warrant whenever mom was not looking.
The siblings had spent way too many family dinners doing the same thing whenever they couldn’t quite manage to keep the older Fentons off the kitchen. And even when they did, they didn’t lower their guard. The chance of contamination was always a latent threat to the house.
Jazz turned her head slightly to look at her brother. The boy was, very pointedly, not poking at his food and just watched it with all the scorn he could gather. He refused to do the same things as Vlad, which didn’t mean he was crazy enough to try and eat the food on his plate.
The dinner proceeded with making some catching up, abundant science talk, teasing, scathing remarks, sighing, and finally dissolved in a three-way match between the Fenton children and one Vlad Masters to see who could dispose of the food in the most sneaky way.
She had always wondered how the man survived with her parents for as long as he did back in their college years. She knew now.
“Oh! And Jazzrinces finally decided on a college! The G.S.A. is backing up her research on ghosts! Isn’t that incredible?!”
Vlad smiled blandly at Jack. Skillfully suppressing the sneer the man’s cheeriness was trying to invoke to his face. He had lots of practice.
“And Danny decided to tag along to help his sister! Isn’t he such a sweet boy?” Maddie added with a cheer a little more forced than her husband’s. But still, cheer.
Now, that. That got Vlad’s attention. And he decided to take advantage of the children’s distraction to get more information and decide a proper plan of action.
Dany was making it a point to completely ignore the three adult’s conversation. Jazz stuck to taking small sips from her glass of water. That was, until-
“Surely you’re not planning on sending them without some proper equipment, are you?” Vlad tutted. “Don’t get me started on weapons. I mean you never know for certain what will be indispensable, right?”
“That’s a wonderful idea!”
The heads of both children snapped up.
“I mean, most of my research isn’t-” Jazz tried hastily to stop this on its tracks.
Sadly, it was not to be.
“Nonsense Jazz,” Her mom interrupted her, “It’s better to be prepared!”
Vlad hummed in agreement, “They won’t, after all, have anyone else to protect them from those trashy ghosts.”
Just like that, the Fenton parents started to list out loud all the things the kids would surely need for the research.
Vlad smirked.
Danny narrowed his eyes at the pompous fucker.
Jazz resigned herself to keep sighing until the end of times.
-.-.-.-
“How are we supposed to take this with us..?” Danny whispered looking horrified at all the equipment his parents had just thrown their way
“Can’t you just put it in the thermos?”
“The ectoplasmic energies of each Item would clash horribly” Danny winced
“You tried to…?” Jazz side-eyed him
“Yes.” He said curtly, “Wouldn’t really recommend” he continued with the air of someone haunted by the consequences of their life choices. death choices. Both were accurate, she supposed.
Jazz swallowed.
Cue in more silent horrified staring at the equipment.
“Maybe if we start with some boxes-”
“BEWARE!!! THE BOX GHOST!!!”
“Oh my god-!”
“I Fucking knew it!!”
-.-.-.-
A little while after, once the ghost box was gone, and the siblings had retreated to Jazz’s room for safety and the opportunity of proper evening gossip. The fruitloop came barging into the room.
“Ok. I raided the kitchen. There is nothing edible in this house. How do you even survive.” He stated, not asked, in a deeply judgemental tone.
“Magic. Pokemon Magic.” Danny deadpanned from his place on the bed. Jazz, who was cuddled beside him, was still chewing on the dry crackers that managed to survive the onslaught of their parents, for the simple reason that the things had been in her room.
Vlad sighed and started to massage his temples.
“Fine. Truce. Grab your things, we are going out.”
Jazz slightly choked on her crackers. Danny just choked on air. “What? Where-?”
“To get some proper food, of course.” The man sneered like it was completely obvious and tagging a smirk on for good riddance.
“Why would-”
“You have directions. I have the money. Chop chop. Before your parents catch us.” With that, the millionaire turned around and left, leaving the door wide open fully expecting them to follow along.
The siblings stared at each other for a moment before scrambling after Vlad.
Food was more important than playing the archnemesis-game.
For the hundred time that day:
Priorities.
ENDNOTES:
I couldn’t help the fucking references. Danny is a dork and I am ashamed.
-.-.-.-
I headcanon Danny as someone who really likes pet names, be it because he really likes the person or because it pisses them off. Two stones a deader bird.
-.-.-.-
What do you mean The Avengers aren’t a boyband?
-.-.-.-
The siblings are firm believers of the borrowing culture. There is no shame in asking to borrow some things.
Are those Ember’s hat & earrings? Yes. Yes, they are.
Why does Danny have his ears pierced, you ask? BECAUse there is no absolute heteronormative bullshit in this household AND I MUST ADD THAT-!
-Danny & Jazz watched ‘The parent trap’ when they were small little beans and were really interested in whether or not piercing your sibling’s ears was the ultimate bonding moment.
Jazz insisted on researching a lot more about proper sterilizing, mind you- but like the tiny feral unsupervised cupcakes they were, they decided to try it.
Jazz already had her ears pierced, SO, yeah.
It hurt like a bitch for Danny, and Jazz panicked for a week afterward about infections, but it was indeed a good bonding moment.
-.-.-.-
If I ship Jason with some fucking therapy does that mean I can ship him with Jazz?
Ship’s name is JJ for you.
… I just gave myself YOI flashbacks.
Fuck.
-.-.-.-
You might want to say: ‘but author-san, those are not all the ghosts Danny deals with?’, and you are damn right they aren’t, but you must trust in Danny thousand-back-ups Fenton, my children.
(Also, where would be the fun if everyone was accounted for since now? You will see what went down later on. :p)
-.-.-.-
Don’t know if you noticed, but Jazz is not the only one that thinks Danny is a cutie patootie :v
Danny has long ago resigned himself to the being called “Lord” thing. Is better than the ‘K’ word.
-.-.-.-
The thing about the nails is something I do. I started because they looked pretty, I kept painting them because I felt they broke up more easily if I didn’t put like three coats of polish on them.
At least I don’t bite them as much anymore. :p
-.-.-.-
If there is someone on this green earth that knows about the struggles of living with Jack and Maddie Fenton, that someone is Vlad Masters.
Change my mind.
You can’t.

Is Everything Okay? Ch. 2
"Danny you had some pretty stupid ideas." Sam started, looking at the raven haired boy in front of her. "But this by far was the dumbest."
"Yea man, she has a point." Tucker jumped in, a concerned look burned into his exhausted friends face. "Running off like that was suspicion... What if he calls CPS!"
Daniel groaned, running a hand down his face. He couldn't believe how stupid he was. Right after the confrontation from Lancer Daniel ran straight home, or more so flew straight home. He locked himself in his room, and slept. He didn't want to think about what could happen. Didn't want to think about Lancer calling his parents or what it was that his parents and sister wanted. All he wanted, all he needed was uninterrupted sleep and he planned on getting it. He did, but when he woke up Sam and Tucker were there. Turns out he slept clear till Saturday morning.
"I know guys. I don't know what to do." Daniel frowned. "I was exhausted, and my whole body hurts. I don't understand it but what ever Skulker attacked me with stunted my healing, I just don't know anymore." Daniel groaned, falling back onto his bed missing the concerned moment the Goth and the Techno-geek shared. He threw his hands over his eyes, the heels of his pals digging into his eyes another sigh escaped his lips.
"Danny..." Sam trailed, sharing another glance at Tucker. Both were concerned of what Lancer would do. He knew something was up,and everyone feared what he would do next. "What are we going to do?"
Daniel felt his heartbeat increase drastically, tears pricking at the back of his eyes. Digging the heels of his palms firmer against his eyes, taking a deep breath. Vexation bubbled from underneath the panic, how could he have been so stupid? He messed up big time, and he doesn't think he can fix this. He could stand up against Pariah Dark, Vortex, Spectra, and even Vlad but Lancer? He went straight into panic. The only way he can even think to fix this is tell Lancer everything... But he can't. He doesn't know why, and it frustrates him to no end. He needed to come up with a plan, and he needed to before Monday.
"DANNY!" A concerned voice shouted, causing the zoned out teen to jumping, removing his arms and being met with the troubled faces of his friends. The confusing must have been noticeable on his face because Tucker continued. "We've been calling your name for a few minutes dude, you were completely out of it."
"I'm... sorry." Daniel sighed, sitting up. Ignoring the sharp pains that erupted throughout his body or the sting of tears behind his eyes. "I'll talk to Lancer in the morning. If he won't listen to me, then I don't know what I'll do."
"I have an idea." Sam's eyes glistened. "If he won't listen to you, maybe he'll listen to Phantom."
"Sam, you know I can't tell him"
"I know, I mean you could visit him as Phantom and tell him that Danny Fenton has been helping him hunt ghosts." Sam spoke, giving Danny a look, hoping he'll caught what she was throwing. Any hope left her body when all she was met with Daniel's cliche clueless stare met her.
"What do you... Oh..." Daniel's eyes widened, mind racing in thoughts. "That's actually...smart. First I'll talk to Lancer, and if he doesn't drop it then I'll talk to him as Phantom."
"Okay yea. Less likely for Mr. Lancer to notice the connection." Tucker's gaze fell on his PDA before he sighed. "I'm sorry dude, but I need to get back home. Sam and I will cover tonight, with Valeria. You need your rest."
Sam paused for a moment, most likely contemplating if she can take a second day of hunting without Daniel. Giving a small, hesitant smile and placed a hand on her friends knee. "Take it easy Dipstick." Sam followed Tucker out the door, the two flashing their best friend another glancing only to noticed he was already falling asleep...
Vibrant blue eyes fluttered open, taking time to adjust to the darkness. Confusion plagued Daniel's mind as he wondered what woke him from his dreamless sleep. Sitting up, he swung his legs off the bed and rubbed his tired eyes. 'I guess I should grab a snack, who knows how long I've been asleep' Daniel thought, yawning. He sat there a bit longer, trying to will himself to get up. A sudden knock on his door caused the boy to jump, head whipping promptly to stare at the bedroom door. His mind still foggy from sleep,it took him a moment to speak, but the person on the other side spoke first.
"Danny?" A tentative voice called through the wooden door. Daniel blinked, before his mind supplied who was speaking.
"Come in." Daniel shook his head, trying to clear the fogginess that still lingered evidently in his mind. The door creaked open, before the redhead entered, closing the door softly behind her.
"Danny..." She started, taking a stand in front of her baby brother. "Lancer spoke to me the other day." Before his sister could continue, the teen groaned.
"I'm trying to handle that Jazz, it's fine."
"It's not fine Danny." Jasmine spoke firmly, crossing her arms. "Lancer could very well contact the police, we better be glad he didn't."
"When did he talk to you?" Daniel questioned, resting his chin on his hand, eye dropping.
"During lunch." That elicited a soft sigh of relief. Daniel was just glad his sister hadn't heard of his moment in front of Lancer. "I told his to talk to you on Monday, so we need to come up with a good excuse."
"Don't worry Jazz." He sighed, continuing before his sister could cut in. "He already talked to me... I'll talk to him again on Monday, Tuck and Sam came up with a plan." Jasmine gave a hesitate nod, her eyes skimming over her brother.
"Is everything alright?" She held her hand up, silencing her younger brother. "Don't tell me everything is okay. Lancer does have some valid points. I just want you to know that even though I'm studying to be a psychologist, doesn't mean you can't talk to me."
"Jazz, really I'm okay." Daniel quickly cut in, giving her a smile. Her unconvinced look had him add on. "Just tired, I've pulled a few all nighters to hunt ghosts and I just need a break." Jasmine gave a sad sigh.
"That's a text book re-"
"Jazz please." Daniel sighed, shooting his sister a pleading look. "I'm honestly just tired, can I just sleep?" Jasmine moved to speak again before her eyes took in the younger teen's dark bags that circled his eyes, and the way his eye lids dropped. With a defeated sigh, she headed to the door.
"Okay Danny, BUT" She turned, pointing a finger at her brother. "We are having a serious talk when you wake up." Daniel gave a nod, flopping back onto his bed. The soft click of his door barely registered in his mind as he wondered why he was so tired. He slept from after school the day before to Saturday morning, then a few hours and he still feels like he's going to fall over any moment.
With another sigh, Danny curled up on his side. His eyes sliding close, only to shoot open again. Annoyance filled his veins, when he felt the shiver and blue wisp of air. He sat up and stretched.
"Here comes misplaced aggression."
"DANNY!" The shrill voice made Daniel wince, a hand still holding the side of his face. The ache causing him to keep his left eye shut, the hand trying to guard it from the pain, sadly the pain was internal. "This isn't good! We need to come up with a plan and we need to do it fast." His best friend Sam spoke, pulling the teen's hand away from his face and gave a wince.
"Dude, that looks like it hurts." The glare the African American received caused the teen to smile sheepishly. "You could say it was an invention accident."
"Tuck, I've used that excuse like twenty times from now." A realization dawned on the teen which caused him to groan and rest his head in his hands. "What am I going to tell my parents!"
"You were mugged?" Tucker attempted to supply, only to be glared at again, this time by both of his friends. "Okay but listen. You'll be walking home late from Sam's house. It's dark, you feel someone push something against your back and demand money. You don't have any so they pistol whip you and they ran. They were behind you and you didn't get to see him." Tucker cringed slightly, waiting for the onslaught of words that were to come. When nothing came, the teen turned his shocked face to his two friends who looked thoughtful.
"That could actually work." Sam spoke incredulously. "You actually had a good idea."
"Hey!"
"Do you think Lancer would buy that?" Daniel piped in, his fingering poking the left side of his face, wincing ever so slightly. "It's great that he cares, but I really hope he drops this."
"He might." Sam nudged his shoulder, giving a smile when he glanced at her.
"Yea, if we convince him enough he'll drop it that's for sure." Tucker jumped in, the trio making their way down towards their homes.
"Yea... I can't help but wonder why he didn't just contact CPS already?" Daniel questioned. "Don't get me wrong, it's awesome he hasn't, but wouldn't he have?" Sam and Tucker shared a look, confusion clouding their faces before they nodded.
The trio walked in silence from there, all three trying to come up with some plausible reasoning as to why Lancer was doing this. All three shared the same anxiety among each other. They all knew what was at risk, if Lancer contacted authorities the truth would have to come out. There was no way the Fentons would be cleared of child abuse with all the wounds Daniel was sporting.
When they reached the intersection, they exchanged goodbyes and went off to their respected homes. Daniel felt the anxiety rise, close to bubbling over. He couldn't help the looming fear he felt for tomorrow, when he would have to face Lancer. With their block schedule, he didn't have the English teacher tomorrow, but he was going to stop by his office after school. This all had to be dealt with and fast, before things get extraordinarily out of hand and completely down the drain. He released a sigh of relief when he noticed all the lights off in his home. At least he got away from a lecture that night.
To tired to bother with his powers, he lightly made his way towards his room. Taking a glance at his cell phone, he stifled the millionth sigh of the day. He had four hours before he had to be up and ready for school. Once in his room, his eyes drifted to his bag that rested on his desk. He needed to do his homework, he slept or ghost hunted pretty much all weekend and didn't get an ounce of work better. He couldn't leave it for today when he got back from school. There wasn't a doubt in his mind that he wouldn't ended up getting it done. With a sigh of defeat, he dropped himself in his desk chair. If he wanted Lancer off his back, he definitely needed to pick up his pace. Turning to his math homework, he tried to focus his bleary eyes. Half way through his homework stack, Daniel fell asleep on his desk.
Daniel sulked further into himself, gripping the straps of his bag tighter. No one else in the halls of Casper High School noticed or paid any mind to the teen. Not a mention of his half bruised face, or how he was dressed in an over sized hoodie. His heart hammered against his rib cage, anxiety and fear clutching at his stomach. He felt unbelievably nauseous, tears pricked the back of his eyes and he couldn't help but scold himself.
He couldn't understand why he could stand up to Lancer. He was able to fight, and taunt so many ghosts who wanted nothing more in their afterlives, but this English teacher was able to spike his anxiety to unbelievable levels. Made every step to Lancer's office feel like he was being held down by lead. With a hesitant hand, he pushed open the ajar door and was met with the back of his teacher, a folder held in his hands. Or it was.
The moment Daniel stepped into the room, Lancer turned. His face filled with shock and the folder he held crashed to the ground. There was a pregnant silence, no word was shared between the two. Until Lancer exclaimed his very common and well known curses.
"Great Gatsby!"

Blind Panic

Blind Panic
Word count: 7K
Summary: That afternoon was absolutely perfect. How could it not? Kirishima was with his best friends, and his lover. He walked beside the explosive blonde a bright smile painting his face as the group made their way out the front door. What a perfect afternoon, almost perfect. All of it gone in an instant, torn from them by a villain. A villain holding the Kaminari hostage at the front gate. With his options limited Kirishima did the only thing he knew how to save his friends, but what are the consequences for his actions? Permanent or temporary?
Kirishima stretched out his arms head tipping back against his chair. The final bell had just rung the final echoes reaching the end of the hall. “Hey Kirishima,” he sat up hearing his name called out, it was Denki.
“What’s up Denki?” The redhead asked looking at the boy sitting in front of him. Standing on either side of the electric teens desk were Mina, and Sero his other close friends.
“How about a trip to the mall? Bakugou should join us too,”
“Yea sure thing. I’ll ask him,” Kirishima stood up and walked over to Bakugou who sat two rows to the left of him. “Yo! Bakugou! Wanna go to the mall with us?” He stood in front of Bakugou’s desk as he waited on the answer.
“Mmm, why the fuck not,” Bakugou stood up grabbing his bag. “Lets go,” Kirishima nodded waving to the others. He joined Bakugou’s side as they headed to the front entrance.
“Kirishima catch!” Denki called tossing him his backpack as he and the other two made their way to the front right behind them. Kirishima caught the bag easily.
“Thanks man,” Kirishima raised his fist toward Denki who gave him a fist bump. The small group of teens headed out Sero and Denki playfully jogging ahead.
“Yo slow pokes keep up!” Denki sprinted out the building Sero casually chasing.
“Shut up you Damn asshats!” Bakugou shouted at them grunting some other phrases as he followed them out. Kirishima laughed slipping through the door beside his annoyed boyfriend, quietly taking his hand. Mina slipped by them joining Sero in his pursuit of Denki. Kirishima looked ahead to Denki who was standing at the gate not moving.
“Hey Denki are you ok?!?!” Kirishima stepped ahead of Bakugou slightly concerned when he got no answer. Soon he was stepping in front of Mina and Sero. “Yo Denki!” He paused for a moment confused. Denki turned slowly facing them eyes wide with terror beside him was a man with his hand rested on Denki’s shoulder.
“So this is the great UA high? It isn’t all it's cracked up to be if I can get my hands on a student so easily,” the villain laughed looking at the other students. “What fun, hey kid show me what you’ve got for a quirk,” Denki looked at his friends eyes pleading them to run away. Kirishima analyzed the situation to decide the best course of action to get his friend to safety. He decided maybe talking to the villain would convince him to let Denki go. If he wouldn’t let his friend go he’d at least stall for an adult to help them
“Hey I think we can talk this out. Is there something you want?” Kirishima looked at the villain taking a step toward them.
“Stop right there kid, don’t want your little friend here to get hurt,” Kirishima stopped moving looking at Denki.
“That’s true, I don’t want my friend injured. Any of them. So please tell me is there something you need sir?” His eyes never left Denki’s as he spoke trying to keep everyone calm.
“Shut your trap you little brat. There is nothing you can do that you can do that will get me any results. So I suggest you stay put,” Kirishima could tell his plan to talk wasn’t going as he had thought. The villain was right he was only a kid, he had no power to get the things that the man wanted, and he was running out of time to stall. The Villain was rather impatient and unwilling to wait for the answer he wanted. He stood still looking back at the three behind him. “I think it’s time I get my point across to your dear teachers. No matter how hard they try they can never protect you. Which one of you would like to die first? Maybe all of you will what do you think?” Kirishima could tell they were out of options, especially since they had no idea what this mans quirk was or his true intent.
“Please run,” Denki mouthed to his friends as his eyes rolled into the back of his head. Kirishima suddenly understood how dire the situation they were in was becoming. Before he could warn his friends a bright light erupted from Denki aimed straight for them. The young redhead did the only thing he could think of to protect his friends. With his body hardened he stepped in front of the electric current racing toward them. Behind him Bakugou was screaming at for him to get our of the way as Sero and Mina held him back both shaking as they knew what was about to happen. All of them did. Using his body as a rod Kirishima took the full force of Denki’s quirk blocking it from hitting his friends.
“Kirishima!” Bakugou screamed trying to fight off the two holding him back desperate to get to his lover. Between Bakugou’s screams and the electric no one noticed the glass break from a window on the second floor. Suddenly the electric current disappeared completely as if it hadn’t existed in the first place. Sero and Mina let go of Bakugou in the confusion. Bakugou stumbled forward not wasting a second to get to Kirishima.
Kirishima teetered before his legs gave out from under him, his unconscious body falling forward toward the pavement.
Bakugou threw himself at Kirishima landing under him so he wouldn’t land on the pavement. Carefully he rolled himself over pulling Kirishima close to him hands trembling ever so slightly.
“You’ve made a grave mistake harming my students,” a dark voice called out from behind the students. The owner of the voice was none other than Mr. Aizawahome room teacher of class 1-A. “I suggest you leave before you regret coming,” he grabbed the scarf around his neck ready to fight the villain.
“You plan to fight me? What can you do? Are you even a true hero?” Aizawa growled walking past his students shards of glass cracking under his black boots as he stepped. He stopped a moment to kneel beside Kirishima who was cradled in Bakugou’s arms, he could tell that Kirishima was still breathing but each breath was slowly becoming more and more unsteady.
“Not only are you trespassing on school grounds you injured two of my students and proceed to threaten me as well as anyone else who may reside on this campus. That includes my students, I will not let you harm another hair on their bodies, ever. I cannot let you continue with your cruel intent,” Aizawa blinked finally but knew that Denki had no more power in him, only sparks emitted from the boy who was still being held by the villain. “Unhand my student and leave,” he wasn’t taking no for an answer, he again used his quirk on the villain to keep Denki from any more harm, his scarf began floating up away from his neck he grabbed hold of it throwing it toward the Denki grabbing him with ease. “Sero, catch!” Aizawa tossed the unconscious teen back toward his friend using the force to throw himself forward toward the villain. His scarf set Denki free once safely away. Sero ran forward catching Denki with is tape and with the help of Mina brought him carefully to the ground. The black haired teacher twisted in the air using his momentum to smash his heel into the villains jaw. He landed sliding on his feet across the pavement. “It seems your limitation is that you have to touch your victim. Now that my student is safely away I can make you eat dirt,” he threw his scarves at the villain entangling him in them holding him tight. Aizawa took the villain by the back of the head shoving his face to the ground with ease. THe first chance the U.A. teacher got he looked in the direction of his students making sure all five were safe.
“Aizawa!” He looked behind them to see Vlad King and Present Mic running to him.
“The students, two of them are injured they need immediate assistance,” Aizawa got to his feet pointing to his students.
“Kirishima open your eyes damnit,” Bakugou moved red strands out of Kirishima’s face hoping they would open. He looked up to Vlad King who knelt beside him. “Please, he needs help,” Bakugou shifted allowing the home room teacher of class 1-B take Kirishima from him.
“Mic, we need to get the injured to Recovery Girl,” Vlad hoisted up the redhead with ease.
“I’ll take Denki,” Aizawa insisted handing the villain off to Mic. He lifted the electric teen onto his back following Vlad into the building. “Move out of the way!” He shouted along the halls as they ran warning any students that may still be there. Tailing behind him were the other three students involved in the incident. Once they reached the nurses office Aizawa shut the door behind him keeping out the other three. “Recovery Girl, these two need immediate medical care. Eijiro Kirishima more importantly,” he set Denki down on one of the beds as he spoke to the older woman.
“Of course, a bunch of trouble your students are I tell ya, do you happen to know what happened to put these two in this state?” She asked as she began her work on the redhead.
“From what I saw the villain that had Denki was about to manipulate his body and quirk, Kirishima took the full force of Denki’s electricity to save his friends,” Aizawa explained watching Recovery Girl gather supplies she’d need.
“Take your other students home to the dorms. I will come by the dorms later with an update,” Aizawa took the hint, she needed to work without any distractions. Including himself, he left the infirmary without any resistance. He wasn’t surprised to find Sero, Mina, and Bakugou waiting outside the room faces ridden with worry.
“Ashido, Sero, and Bakugou we’re going to the dorms. Recovery Girl will come with an update when she has one,” Aizawa didn’t give them a second to protest, carefully he ushered them out of the building following behind them as they walked to the dorms. They stopped a moment at the school entrance so they could gather their bags as well as the ones that belonged to Kirishima and Denki. Their walk to the dorms was quiet his students said nothing hearts filled with sadness as they continued down the streets. As they reached the dorms Aizawa held the door for the three entering seconds after.
Uraraka turned to see her returning classmates and home room teacher. She quickly noticed the sad atmosphere they were emitting. “Welcome back guys,” she greeted them with a smile gaining the attention of the others.
“Give them a little space. They had an unwelcome encounter with a villain,” Aizawa stated simply as he headed to the kitchen. Where he watched the other students rise from their seats on the floor or couches in the large lounge room.
“Oh I see, come join us. We were just about to play a game of cards,” Uraraka offered gently. She rested a hand on Mina rubbing her shoulder.
Mina sniffled wrapping her arms around her friend tears falling instantly. “We were useless. Completely useless,”
Uraraka watched Sero turn his face away as he bit down on his quivering lip trying to hold himself together. Uraraka held her friend rubbing her back, she knew better than to pry while they were in this state.
“Where is Denki, and Kirishima?” Mineta asked stupidly unable to read the current atmosphere.
“Mieta,” Tokoyami hushed him harshly arms folded against his chest.
“Both were injured by the villain,” Sero stated taking a seat on the floor while his fellow classmates watched him with caution. He was surprised that Bakugou wasn’t shouting for them to shut up, they all knew how touchy he was when it came to Kirishima. It had startled the tape wielding teen to see Bakugou sitting on the floor. Hidden on the other side of a couch, he had made sure to face away from everyone. Sero had figured the explosive teen would want to be held up in his room, yet he was there, face hidden from everyone.
“Lets go sit,” Uraraka helped Mina sit on the couch sitting beside her the other girls surrounding them. She looked down at the two boys on the floor, she could tell Sero was holding back tears, and Bakugou, she was unable to read his emotions. She sat quietly consoling her pink haired friend along with the others.
Aizawa watched his students from the kitchen. He was stunned that Bakugou wasn’t hiding in his room, he was actually sitting alongside his classmates listening to them as they spoke kind words to their three friends. The homeroom teacher turned away rummaging through the cabinets and fridge to find food. In the end he was able to find some random ingredients that he used to make homemade Mac n’ cheese for his students. He made sure there was enough for everyone, including the two that were in recovery. “Eat up,” he said to them as he brought each of them a bowl.
“Thank you,” Mina said to him at a whisper taking the bowl from him.
Aizawa nodded returning to the kitchen to watch each of them. He didn’t find it surprising that Bakugou, Sero, and Mina barely touched the food given to them. A gentle knock disrupted the silence they were all in. “Stay put,” Aizawa ordered as he stepped over to the front door looking out to see who was knocking. A second later he opened it and allowed Mic to enter, behind him was Denki and Recovery Girl. He gave Mic a small smile then looked at Denki. “Good to see you on your feet,”
“I don’t want him attending classes for a couple days. So I am thankful it is the weekend. He needs proper rest and minimal activity,” Recovery Girl looked at each student as she spoke.
“And Kirishima?” Everyone’s head turned to the sound of the hoarse voice. Stunned they looked at Bakugou who was on his feet eyes red from crying, up until that point he was completely silent.
“The damage he took from using his body as an electric rod was severe. But thanks to the quick work of your teachers I was able to heal him. He will still need a little healing once he has rested some more,” everyone sighed in relief making Recovery Girl hesitant to finish.
“However,” Aizawa prompted her he too wanted to know the full extent of his students condition.
“However, as I examined him I noticed that his eyes were unresponsive to any test I gave. Though I healed them there is a chance of temporary blindness,”
“How likely is the chance that it's permanent?” Aizawa listened carefully
“Very unlikely, but the chances of temporary blindness are of a higher percentile,” Recovery Girl finished filling them in then looked to Mic. “Shall we head back?” The two said their goodbyes leaving Aizawa with his almost complete class of anxious tudents.
“I’m so sorry,” Denki broke the silence eyes trained on the floor.
“It wasn’t your fault. Don’t blame yourself. I know Eijiro wouldn’t,” Bakugou said sitting on the floor again.
Aizawa handed Denki a bowl. “Eat, and sit. Bakugou has a point, this wasn’t your fault. And you know Kirishima wouldn’t want you blaming yourself,” he stepped away after consoling the electric teen. The room returned to a tense silence. One by one the students fell asleep on the floor or couches. Aizawa sighed gathering blankets and pillows from each of their rooms making sure each teen had one for the night. “A pack of trouble I tell ya,” he spoke to himself cleaning the dishes and kitchen. Though he couldn’t blame them, he too was worried about his injured student.

Bakugou was the first to rise the next morning, he was confused when he realized he wasn’t in his room, it didn’t take him long to remember what had happened the evening before. Blankly he stared at the wall finding it hard to sit there and wait.
“Bakugou, Recovery Girl came by earlier. Want to see him?” Aizawa saw that Bakugou was already awake which hadn’t surprised him.
“If I can,” Bakugou answered hesitantly getting to his feet.
Aizawa nodded to him. “Give me a sec,” he went back to his room disappearing for a moment.
Bakugou watched his teacher go out of view into his room, then return with a familiar loud mouth blonde. For a second Bakugou almost didn’t recognize his English teacher with his hair down shirtless and in what were obviously Aizawa’s iconic pink sweatpants.
“Lets go,” Aizawa motioned him over. They headed out silent in the beginning but he could tell the silence was beginning to eat at the boy. “Kirishima is strong, he’ll pull through,”
“I know,” was all Bakugou replied. He wasn’t in the mood for talking. All he wanted was to get to the person he loved most in this world. With that he walked the rest of the way to the school in silence entering ahead of Aizawa not stopping for anything. The explosive blonde rushed to the infirmary leaving his teacher in the dust. Quietly he entered one of the private rooms eyes locking on the motionless redhead that lay in the hospital style bed. “Eijiro,” the name slipped through his quivering lips as he sat beside his boyfriend. “You big idiot,” he took his hand pulling it close to his chest and watched as his lovers chest rose and fell to the gentle breath he took.
Aizawa watched from the door, he decided to let them be and return to the dorms. Recovery girl and Vlad King were there if needed. Without a word he left the school returning to the dorms.
Bakugou rested his head on the bed beside Kirishima’s chest holding his hand tight. Casually he dozed into a light sleep. He woke an hour later to the infirmary door opening and the sound of his classmates entering the room. He looked up to see Denki, Sero, and Mina standing at the end of the bed.
“Any change?”
Bakugou shook his head as an answer. “You can stay, I wouldn’t mind the company,” he whispered almost hoping they didn’t hear him. But they had, the trio pulled up chairs beside the bed watching Kirishima all of them dozing into a lazy slumber not long after sitting down. The room was silent aside from the occasional sounds of the machines that were attached to Kirishima. Bakugou held his boyfriends hand as he studied every inch of his body, his arms and torso were covered in bandages reaching to his neck, as well as his eyes. The blonde sighed softly standing up he leaned over the bed kissing Kirishima on the forehead, after making the sweet gesture he returned to his seat scrolling through his phone to help pass the time. A few of the others stopped by to check in but didn’t stay long not wanting to disturb the four already there. Bakugou was intrigued but not surprised when the three idiots didn’t wake to the constant movement of the others.
“Bakugou, he’s stable and by the looks of it should wake up soon,” Recovery Girl told him after giving Kirishima an examination. Bakugou nodded as his reply, he hoped he didn’t have to wait much longer. Without knowing he fell asleep as the sun set the warm light bathing them in beautiful shades of red and yellow.
Kirishima scrunched his face feeling the light on his face unconsciously squeezing the hand that was rested in his.
Bakugou stirred when he felt Kirishima move but didn’t fully wake in his own slumber squeezed Kirishima’s hand as his lover had.
Kirishima woke eyes blinking slightly but all he saw was darkness it confused him. He reached his free hand up to rest on his face finding his eyes covered in bandages, he figured that was the cause of why he couldn’t see and tore them off. As the bandages fell onto the bed after being removed Kirishima reached up to touch his face, it was still dark pitch black in fact. It terrified him that he couldn’t see, he didn’t know where he was, who he was with, or if he was even alive. He began to panic pulling his hand out of Bakugou’s he grabbed his chest breathing in an unsteady manner heart rate climbing. The young teen sat up holding his chest in both hands gasping for air as the tears rolled down his cheeks.
Bakugou woke as soon as he felt Kirishima’s hand disappear from his grasp he sat up rubbing his eyes he looked around the room for a second then to where Kirishima lay. He got to his feet the second he saw the redhead sitting up crying in a panicked state. “Hey, hey I’m right here,”
“W-Where I can’t see you,” Bakugou could tell Kirishima was scared and couldn’t blame him.
“Right here,” Bakugou climbed onto the bed straddling Kirishima it was the fastest way he could calm down his boyfriend. Gently he reached out taking Kirishima’s hands and rested them on his face then rested his forehead against his upset lover. “I am right here. It’s all going to be ok, I promise,” he held still as Kirishima ran his hands along Bakugou’s face. Bakugou gently kissed his palms as they slid down to his chin. “Take a deep breath, that’s it,”
Kirishima pushed a little on Bakugou’s forehead not wanting him to move away. Clumsily he wrapped his arms around his boyfriends grabbing the back of his shirt. Slowly he took some calming breaths tears still rolling down his cheeks.
“Hey now none of that,” Bakugou wiped away the tears making sure his tone was sweet. He kissed Kirishima’s cheeks before pulling him into his arms. “You’ve got other guests. Want me to wake them?”
“W-who’s there?”
“The three idiots,” the blonde smiled when Kirishima gave a slight smile. “So how bout it?”
“A-as long as you don’t leave me,”
“Now why would I do that?” Bakugou planted a gentle kiss on his lips. “Here scoot over a little,” he shuffled with Kirishima as they moved a little. Then he slid off his boyfriends lap and sat beside him. “See I’m not going anywhere,” he waited for Kirishima to get comfortable before waking the three idiots. “Oi wake up,” Bakugou called out in his usual hot temper tone, when they didn’t wake up he threw something at each of them. “Get up,”
Denki woke when the box of tissues smacked him in the chest. “Dude what did you do that for?” He sat up rubbing his messy hair. With a large yawn his eyes trained on the bed to see Bakugou and Kirishima sitting up Kirishima’s eyes open. “Hey, hey, hey,” Denki slapped Sero in the chest getting to his feet.
“The fuck?” Sero woke to being slapped not happy that he was. Once he realized why he gently woke Mina.
With her messy pink hair Mina sat up smiling to see Kirishima awake. She joined the others at his side. “Hey you. It's good to see you awake,”
“Yea man you had us seriously worried for a second there. I want you to know I’m sorry,”
“Denki, there is nothing for you to apologize for. I know it wasn’t you who did it, and I was the one who made the decision to be an electric rod,” with little coordination he reached out to try and find his friends hand struggling greatly.
Bakugou reached over and assisted his lover guiding his hand to Denki’s. Sero looked over at him his eyes asking the question everyone was worried about, Bakugou replied with a nod.
“Got it Denki, it's not your fault,”
“Mhm, thank you,” Denki held his friends hand choking back tears.
Mina looked at the floor sighing. “Honestly Kirishima we all felt pretty useless. So thank you for saving us,” her voice quivered as she choked back her own tears.
“Hey now no crying. I know my move was foolish but I also knew that I was the only one that could take the force of Denki’s quirk and be alright. I want you four to promise me you won’t blame yourselves for anything that happened,” he waited a second for answers but didn’t get any.
Bakugou tensed realizing they had all nodded rather than giving him a verbal answer. “We all nodded,”
“I figured,” the redhead laughed softly leaning on his boyfriend.
“I’ll go get Recovery Girl,” Mina stood up shuffling out of the room.
“I guess it's a good idea to call the dorms and let everyone know you’re awake,” Sero got to his feet following Mina out.
“Oh hey before you go do you guys want anything from the cafe?” Denki asked pulling out his phone taking orders. “Bakugou, Kirishima do either of you want anything?”
“I’ll have a breakfast burrito the bacon one,” Bakugou answered him.
“I’m good but thanks,” Kirishima wasn’t in much of an eating mood. He knew it may worry his friends so he had a plan. “I’ll share with Bakugou, he never finishes those burritos,” he laughed softly hoping that answer would satisfy them.
Denki looked at Bakugou, even with that answer he worried. When Bakugou nodded to him he took the small list and left.
“Are you really going to eat my leftovers?”
“Saw right through me, like always,”
Bakugou sighed softly at him kissing his head. “We’ve been dating for a while now of course I’d notice when you’re lying. Promise me you’ll have a couple bites at least?”
Kirishima nodded he could manage to eat a couple bites to keep them from worrying.
Mina re-entered the room with Recovery Girl behind her.
“I see the young man is awake, how are you feeling?”
Kirishima looked in the direction of the voice not quite looking at the healing hero. “I’m alright, a bit sore and well,”
“As you suspected he is blind, hopefully only temporarily,” Bakugou answered for him seeing he was having a hard time coming up with the right words.
Recovery Girl nodded softly before stepping up to the bed. “Let me run some tests and check your other injuries. I need the rest of you out,”
Bakugou slid off the bed but was stopped when Kirishima grabbed his arm with a shaking hand. “Hey, I’m going right outside for only a bit. She needs to make sure you are healing properly, I’d be in the way if I stayed,” truth be told he would rather stay by his side through this but knew Recovery Girl needed the space.
Kirishima hesitantly let him go of his arm with a nod.
“I will be right back,” he kissed the redhead on the nose before he left the room with Mina. As they exited the room they saw the rest of class 1-A was standing outside the room waiting on some answers. Bakugou ran his calloused hand on the back of his neck letting out an irritated sigh. “He’s awake, Recovery Girl is looking at him now,”
“That’s good. Guess Recovery Girl was wrong about the blindness,” Mineta spoke up amongst the silent group.
“I never said that you asshole!” The halls echoed with the sound of his explosive punch hitting the wall next to him. As soon as the echo dissipated Bakugou realized what he had done closing his eyes he looked away from the group. “Sorry, but you were wrong. He is blind,”
Aizawa was stunned by Bakugou’s control and ability to admit he did something he shouldn’t have. Honestly he was rather proud of his student for his actions. “With that said, we can all wait here until Recovery Girl comes to tell us anything,” he leaned on the wall watching each of his students in the various places they decided to place themselves. The pro hero found a spot where he could survey each of the students especially Bakugou and Denki. It didn’t take long for Recovery Girl to exit the room causing heads to turn.
“He is healing well, and his vision will return though I am unsure when. He is asking to go back to the dorms, I’ll grant this request if close eyes are kept on him,”
Bakugou nodded to her knowing very well he had no plans to leave Kirishima’s side. He went into the room, closing the door behind him keeping the others out.
“Bakugou is that you?” Kirishima asked hearing the door shut harshly.
“Of course, let's get you home,” he walked over to the bed seeing he was already unhooked from the machines sitting up feet hanging off the bed. “I’ll carry you on my back, how does that sound?” He smiled softly when Kirishima nodded sheepishly. “Alright hold still,” Bakugou was very careful helping Kirishima onto his back. Once secure he walked out of the small hospital like room unsurprised to find his fellow classmates all still outside the room. “By the way, the class is here,”
“Oh, uh, hey guys,” Kirishima lifted one of his hands to wave nearly smacking Bakugou in the face.
Bakugou moved his face out of the way saying nothing as the class snickered a little. “Lets go,” he grumbled walking away from the others making sure Aizawa was following.
Kirishima made casual conversation with his friends to the best of his ability. It wasn't easy, draining rather but he didn’t say any of that during the walk.
Bakugou noticed how the chatter was tiring Kirishima out so he was sure to walk fast to the dorms. Upon their return Bakugou had aimed to take the redhead to his room but was instead dragged into the lounge room plopping Kirishima down gently on a couch. He then sat himself on the floor between Kirishima’s legs.
Kirishima was happy Bakugou was indulging their friends but knew it was also upsetting him. To hopefully calm him Kirishima began to calmly Pet Bakugou’s spiky head while resting his legs over Bakugou’s shoulders so he knew he was still sitting with him.
“Hey Kirishima, have you had anything to eat today?” Uraraka asked planning to get herself a snack but felt the need to ask him.
“Mm no, none of us who were at the hospital were given the chance to eat. We left before Denki could get the food,” Kirishima shrugged hands still playing with Bakugou’s hair.
“Well Mr. Aizawa made us some mac n’ cheese last night. There’s a leftover bowl he made for you. Let me heat it up for you!” The floating teen spoke in her chipper tone skipping to the kitchen. Kirishima aimed to protest but felt Bakugou touch his leg telling him not to.
“You need to eat,” Bakugou whispered tipping his head back so he could look up at Kirishima. He relaxed when Kirishima nodded to him. “Even if it's just two bites,”
“Ok,” Kirishima closed his eyes leaning back on the couch. Bakugou kept shifting under him signifying he wasn’t very comfortable. “What’s the matter?”
“I need to use the bathroom. But I’m not going to leave you,”
“It’s alright Katsuki, go I will be just fine for a little. Plus everyone is here. I won’t be alone,” Bakugou hesitated for a second even though he was told it was okay he still worried.
“Don’t worry Bakugou, we’ve got him,” Sero assured him taking a seat beside Kirishima. Bakugou nodded getting to his feet.
“I won’t be long, holler if you need me,” He slipped into the bathroom checking over his shoulder as he went.
“How are you feeling?” Sero asked Kirishima calmly sitting next to him.
“I’m not going to lie, exhausted. It has been a little hard to track everyone’s voices and keeping up. Also even though I know where I am being unable to see my surroundings makes me nervous,” he admitted playing with his hands in his lap. Bakugou was his security blanket but he wasn’t going to make him sit there in discomfort. “But it's only temporary, so I just have to adjust for the time being,” he nodded taking a deep breath the relaxation that washed over him didn’t last long. A loud clatter came from the kitchen followed by light cursing.
“Sorry guys I broke a bowl,” Uraraka admitted as she cursed some more. Kirishima took a breath to calm down but it only did so much in his high alert state.
“Guys! Guys!” Denki shouted holding up his hand. “My quirk is back!” Small sparks bounced between two of his fingers.
Kirishima flinched clumsily covering his ears the shouting and the sound of the sparks making him more nervous. He didn’t want to panic, calmly he took deep breaths.
“Hey Kiri are you ok?” Mina asked seeing her friend acting strange. “Denki put your hand down, the sound,” Kamanari did as told, putting his hand down he quit playing with his quirk eyes locked on his friend hoping he didn’t scare him too much. Mina crawled up to Kirishima, carefully she rubbed his leg causing him to flinch. “Hey it's ok. It's just me Mina,” she reassured him quietly. Gently she rested her hand on his chest hoping it would help. Small and gentle were words often used to describe Mina’s demnior and hands, in this case it sent Kirishima into panic. The gentle fingers touching his chest landed unknowingly against the wound he got from Kamanari’s electric quirk. Mina pulled her hand away more worried than before. “Ei?”
Kirishima felt so small sitting on the couch hands trembling as he finally couldn’t hold back the brewing panic in his mind. ‘Katsuki, I need Katsuki. My Katsuki,” the mantra rang in his head as he frantically tried to find his beloved in the darkness. “I-I need Katsuki,” he stammered rising to his unsure feet. Aiming to walk forward he stumbled to the floor, still weak his legs didn’t want to hold his weight. Shakily he returned to his feet taking a few more steps before bumping into the coffee table the normally cheerful boy tumbled backward, falling to the floor at a rapid pace. Sero moved first jumping from the couch reaching out to catch his fiend but was too late, Kirishima hit the floor with a heavy thud. Though he missed his chance to catch his friend he still scrambled over to him to make sure he was alright.
Curled up on the floor Kirihsima covered his hers his body shaking in fear. Sero reached out resting a hand on his friend wanting to calm him down. “Hey Eiji? The redhead boy flinched away from the touch whimpering clearly afraid.
Mina ran over to Kirishima checking on him. “Ei, it me Mina,” she spoke reaching out laying a tender hand on his back. Once she saw him relax slightly under her touch she rested his head in her lap petting his head as the tears began to roll down his cheeks. It scared her to watch her friend go through this not knowing what to do. She looked toward the bathroom hoping Bakugou would hurry.
Bakugou emerged from the bathroom sighing in relief. His wasted no time looking for Kirishima on the couch he left him on. Perplexed when he didn’t see Kirishima, or Sero for that matter. His gaze scanned the room confused he saw Kamanari standing his yellow eyes staring at something with deep concern. That’s when the blonde boy heard the soft whimpers from the floor, accompanied by the soft sounds of what he presumed was Mina’s voice. Unable to understand what she was saying Bakugou decided to look at what was going on. The crimson irises locked onto Sero sitting beside Mina, and Mina was shakily petting something red in her lap. It didn’t take long for Bakugou to realize the red belonged to his lover, who was trembling uncontrollably in the lap of his friend. Quickly he joined Mina on the floor checking every inch of Kirishima. “What happened?” He asked harshly taking Kirishima from her.
“He was starting to panic and tried to leave. He fell trying to get to you,” Mina told him in a quiet tone.
“Eiji, I’m here now. And I won't leave again,” he scooped up the shaking redhead holding him close. “I think that's enough for tonight,” without another word he began walking to Kirishima’s room quietly. The hands that usually made destructive explosions were tenderly wrapped around Kirishima as they quietly made their way up the hall. Bakugou said nothing until they were safely inside Kirishima’s room door shut and locked behind them. “It’s ok, Eiji. Let it all out now,”
Shakily Kirishima grabbed onto Bakugou tightly letting out his terrified cries tears soaking into Bakugou’s shirt.
“I’m right here,” Bakugou whispered tenderly, his hands calmly rubbing Kirishima’s back as his cries filled the room. The two sat on the bed for a solid thirty minutes before Kirishima had finally taken a deep calm breath relaxing. “There you are,” Bakugou pushed back guiding Kirishima’s forehead to rest against his.
“Kiss me,” Kirishima demanded closing the distance between them locking their lips. Bakugou didn’t pull away instead he did as Kirishima asked of him and kissed him gently guiding him to lay on the bed. In his usually feisty manner he bit Kirishima’s lip tugging it back as he sat up.
“Anything else I can do for you Ei?” He asked resting his hand on Kirishim’s hips.
“Will you kiss them?” Kirishima covered his face cheeks turning a shade that matched his wild hair. “My injuries?”
Bakugou chuckled softly. “Of course,” he pulled off Kirishima’s shirt then removed the bandages discarding them to the floor. Quietly he leaned down pecking the scratch just above the hem of Kirishima’s pants, the next was the one on his side, he tailed it up to his shoulder, then back to the one that scared them all. Bakugou caressed the wound letting the redhead know it was next. Kirishima didn’t shy away from the touch he nodded knowing Bakugou was asking him if it was alright to kiss that particular wound.
“Please Katsu,” his voice soft as he assured his beloved boyfriend it was alright. Without further hesitation Bakugou leaned down kissing the wound lovingly
“And lastly,” he whispered kissing Kirishima’s eyes. “Any better?”
Kirishima’s cheeks were still bright red as he nodded tracing his fingers along Bakugou’s face. After a few silent seconds Kirishima was struggling off Bakugou's shirt. “I want to feel your warmth,”
Bakugou obliged tossing his shirt to the floor laying beside Kirishima. Arms wrapped around each other Kirishima nestled his face into Bakugou’s chest falling asleep. “I love you Eijiro, don’t leave me. Ever,”
“I will never leave you Katsuki, I promise. I love you too,” both the teens dozed off into an easy slumber. Kirishima flinched as the early morning light caught his face. Slowly he blinked at the overly bright room, his eyes landed on Bakugou who gently snored beside him. He realized in that very second he was finally able to see. Tears welled up in his eyes as he caressed Bakugou’s face.
Bakugou groaned opening his eyes to look up at Kirishima sitting above him crying. “What’s the matter Ei?” He sat up worriedly.
“Nothing. Absolutely nothing,” Kirishima looked at him dead in the eyes smiling. “Did you know I love the shade of your eyes. Such a beautiful crimson,”
Bakugou realized in that very second that Kirishima was looking right at him. “Eiji..”
“Shut up and kiss me,”
Bakugou did exactly that pulling him into a tight embrace never wanting to let him go again. He pulled away to look into his lovers eyes hands rested on each other’s cheeks they both let tears of joy slip down their faces
Extra:
Kirishima stood at the island counter in the kitchen eating the bowl of Mac n’ cheese that his homeroom teacher had made for him a few nights ago. Bakugou was attached to him chin rested on his shoulder as he stood behind him.
Denki, Sero, and Mina entered the kitchen seeing the two of them. “Oh mornin’,” Denki greeted them
Kirishima looked up from his meal and smiled. “Morning Denki, Sero, and Mina,” he said looking at each of them.
Denki watched him in confusion. He took notice that Kirishima not only greeted all of them he looked at all of them. To test what he was thinking he began to wave his arms wildly while jumping from one foot to another.
Sero erupted into laughter nearly falling to the floor. “What..”
Kirishima laughed with Sero. “Dude what the hell are you doing?” He asked raising his brow.
Denki stopped immediately running to Kirishima embracing him in a hug. “Thank god!”
Sero finally caught on taking Mina’s arm his face lit up in excitement. “Its back Mina! Its back!”
“What are you talking ab..ooohhhh!” She and Sero ran over wrapping their arms around him toppling all of them to the floor.
“You dunces be careful!” Bakugou complained from the bottom of the pile only there to keep Kirishima from taking a hard fall.
Kirishima laughed loudly attracting the attention of the others in the dorm. They all gathered in the doorway to check in on the crazed group.
“What in god's name are you all doing so loud this early in the morning, and on the floor for that matter,” Aizawa mumbled hair messy as he entered the room.
“He can see!” The three idiots stood shouting as loud as they could laughing happily.
The rest of the class entered the room smiles on their faces helping Kirishima and Bakugou to their feet joining in the happy laughter.
Aizawa watched from the doorway a small smile graced his lips as he watched his class laugh in joy. It was something he would never admit he missed over the last couple of days. The gloomy silence was not something he ever wanted to have again
Kirishima looked back at Bakugou giving him a gentle kiss. “I love you, you know that right?”
“I love you too,” Bakugou retorted kissing the redhead happily.

A Year of Danny Phantom prompts
Day 1) The End Leads to a New Years Eve Countdown
Something was...off. Danny could feel the shift in the air, the coldness that seeped deep inside. Everything seemed so normal, but on its axis at the same time. Like if all of your furniture was moved two centimeters to the left. It all seems normal, but so wrong at the same time.
Ghosts came and attacked Amity as they always do after the Christmas Truce. It was normal, no fights out of what had become his ‘ordinary’ these last two years. But Danny found himself more tired after every fight, no matter how big or small. What used to be just a lingering sleepiness from late night fights became the inability to walk without tripping. Fights that would usually leave him to take a nap turned into a full eight hour sleep. Now days just moving seemed to be a burden on his shoulders.
Not that he would even consider stepping to the side. Amity needed a protector that took both sides into account. And, well, he is certainly the most fitting for that position.
Now it is New Years Eve. Jack Fenton has started preparations for a feast tomorrow, Maddie was tuning up some inventions set to go off at directly midnight, and Jazz began searching for whichever channel would best show the ball drop in New York City later that night. And Danny… Danny is still passed out in his room. At 2pm. With no signs of naturally waking anytime soon.
While Jack and Maddie didn’t seem to notice the boys absence, whether it was because they are wrapped up in their own things or because the two of them are just so used to him being with Sam and Tucker all the time is unclear, Jazz worried for her little brothers well being. Ever since Christmas she’s been finding him sleeping in the oddest places. And now he just looked so, as Sam put it, dead on his feet.
But she knew to let him rest for as long as she could. They could always talk later, and whatever was happening to him seemed to take up a lot of energy. With how sacrificial her brother could be, it was best to keep him to full power as possible. So for now, she worried silently on the couch, absently flipping through different news stations to keep her distracted.
---
About an hour later, Danny came downstairs still looking exhausted. Slight bags under his eyes, slouching more than usual, yawning periodically. It was as if he hadn’t just awoken from a 12 hour nap. Before anyone could say anything (namely Jazz), Danny went straight to the door and opened it to Sam and Tucker standing on their porch, Tucker’s hand raised and ready to knock. None of them said or did anything. The three of them simply left to their destination in silent agreement.
--
Hours later, around ten at night, Sam, Tucker, and Danny found themselves surrounded by gadgets and gizmos in the middle of the woods. The trio had tried everything they could to find out what was wrong with the halfa. From Fenton tech and Tuckers devices to stolen items from Vlad and the Guys in White, nothing worked. Everything turned up normal. Or hurt the ghost boy in some way.
“I’m sorry, man. I really don’t know what's wrong. And something is wrong. Don’t deny it.” Tucker spoke up as he packed away everything back into the duffle bag.
The ghost sighed, more from exhaustion than anything else. “It’s fine, Tuck. We did everything we could think of. Let’s just hope that whatever this is will go away soon.”
Before anyone could say anything else, a puff of cold blue air escaped Phantom’s mouth. “Looks like we got something else to worry about.” Sam snarked. “Who do you think it is?” she asked, looking around the seemingly empty area.
“I’m not sure. But you guys should head home. Your families will be getting worried soon.”
Sam scoffed. “Like that has ever stopped us before.”
“Yeah!” Tucker agreed. “We’re in this for the long run, you know that. Especially when you look like a walking corpse.”
Danny smiled “Well, technically-”
“Shut up, Danny.” Sam interrupted. “Let’s just go find that damn ghost.”
The three nodded to one another, already used to the drill by now. If the ghost wasn’t in sight, Danny would scout by air, Sam would by ground, and Tucker would try and use his ghost tracker in case something was blocking their visual. Sam and Tucker never strayed far from one another, safety in numbers and all. But Danny had this bad habit where he would try to find and deal with the problem first, usually leaving his partners behind in order to protect them… and get himself into to dumb situations.
Today was no different.
The ghost boy found himself back in town, face to face with one of his newer foes. A magician ghost that goes by Presto, master of illusions and magic. Or if your Danny, Clown is a common replacement in the midst of battle.
“What do you want Presto? Can’t this wait?”
“Why? Haven’t been feeling well, my boy?” the magician replied smugly.
“Wha- how did you-?”
“My, my. The Christmas Truce is such a funny thing, isn’t it? So many gathered, and yet no one suspicious.”
The halfa bristled.”What did you do?”
“Oh, just a light spell on your drink. Draining your power. Slowly using your core against you. It won’t kill you. No, no! That’s no fun at all! But me? Oh yes, I most certainly can. The spell will wear off at midnight, the start of the new year.” the ghost brought up a gloved hand, orb of purple power concentrated with a blinding light in their palm. “I do wish we had started sooner, but I think five minutes is plenty of time to take you down.”
“Funny.” Danny scoffed, both fists glowing a more subdued green. “I was thinking the same thing about you.”
5 minutes
Light clashed in the night sky, purple and green hitting each other violently. Sparks of power flew between them as the two bodies clashed. A large beam of deep purple soars towards the other opponent, shield being summoned to block off the attack.
But he is weaker than usual, the shield cracks and breaks under the power of the other, shards of ectoplasm breaking off and fading away. The beam just barely singeing the young halfas side.
4 minutes
It is then as the intense ectoplasmic heat bubbles and bristles his pale skin that the direness of the situation settles on his mind. That blast hurt. It always did, but now his healing power wasn’t kicking in like it usually did, leaving the pain to simmer and burn aggressively.
He shouldn’t have left Sam and Tucker behind.
Or maybe it was good that he did after all.
Biting the inside of his cheek to mask the pain, Danny raised his fists once more. “That all you got, circus act?”
3 minutes
The other didn't take kindly to Phantom’s jabs. They were the one in control. He was the one that is weak and pathetic tonight. In a fit of blind, pent up rage, Presto released more energy, creating duplicates with each form covered in a purple glow. There were 12 of him now. Phantom didn’t stand a chance. “You wish, half freak! But I’m afraid the climax of our show has just begun!”
Blasts came in all directions to the cocky teen. Energy crackled through the air with force, suffocating the halfa as he tried to fend off the duplicates. Ice formed into spears popped into the fake bodies with very real powers. Two down, then five more, another two. Just puffing out of existence like they were never there. Never a threat.
2 minutes
But one landed a hit. The beam hitting the same place as the previous, but more direct. With more power. Surprisingly Danny didn’t feel the same pain as before. Aside from the shock of being pushed back, he felt fine.
Until he looked down.
An entire chunk the size of his fist was completely missing from his left side. Nothing but the sick green goop the absolutely poured from the new wound was there. No suit, no skin. Just a crater and sick amounts of blood splattering down himself and onto the roof of the building below.
Has ectoplasm always glown this bright?
The ghost felt sick. He’s been hurt before, but it never gets easier. The things he’s seen at only 15… and now with his healing factor not working the halfa was left to stew in that bubbling pain, a single tear running down his face with the intensity. It was nothing like when the Ghost Portal claimed half his soul, but it wasn’t much better. At least he wasn't conscious the entire time.
Purple filled his vision as Pesto came to float in front of him with a broad smile, hand aimed at the younger like a gun. “Any last words, young abomination?”
Below them, Danny could hear families beginning the countdown to midnight. To when the poison would wear off. Whether he was delusional or not can be debated, but he swears he can feel the energy he’s been missing slowly coming back to him. It was so, so slow. He would need to stall. Ten seconds. That’s all he needed as he felt muscles and arteries sewing themselves together. So painfully slow, but real.
“Yeah. Maybe a few. I do have a life you know?”
Eight
“Out with it then, or are you trying to stall your demise? No one can evade death, Phantom. Not even you.”
Seven
“I think you forgot, I already did once.”
Six
Pesto charged up his hand. “You are wasting my time.”
Five
“Alright, alright!” Danny wondered if they could hear the countdown too. He hoped not. “Then my last words is some advice.”
Four
“Oh really? And what advice could you possibly want to give me?”
Three
“Pesto is a really stupid name. Change it if you want someone to take you seriously.”
Two
“Soon they will see how dangerous I really am, once I destroy you!”

The Apocalypse Comes To Amity Park In The Form Of...Danny? - Phic Phight
Prompt Creator: @feministhotline Prompt: Phantom uses duplication to get Jack and Maddie off his tail. Summary: In a time of desperation and spilled ice cream, Danny must use duplication to escape, but things go horribly wrong! When a wild Danny appears! Things To Note: Vlad becoming mayor isn’t canon here, PP is never canon and Valerie is on a friendly truce with Phantom.
Warning: excessive swearing, broken bones, violence.
Let Danny say fuck, taking a piss on canon, Danny is a fidget spinner, Danny’s an angry boi, Valarie is an angry gal, teenage superheroes are just the embodiment of anger
“You have got to be kidding me!”
Trash can lid goes flying.
“Of all the lousy timing!”
A duck squawks angrily as it’s almost stepped on.
“Why can’t they just not!”
Car horns blare from people far too used to Amity parks shit.
“For one fucking day!”
A loud whack! Is heard as someone’s head impacts a sign.
“Shit! shit! shit!”
A child cries as his ice-cream cone is knocked to the ground.
“You know what? Fuck it!”
Loud crashing, as a running boy launches himself through a window.
“Yeah yeah this’ll work”.
One pale black haired boy pokes at a mirror as he turns to give a thumbs up to a floating white-haired boy. Their bodies would match in every way if not for the glowing and colour inversion. Quickly spinning around they both take in the mess of broken glass and discarded bottles. Then snapping their heads up at the fast approaching footsteps. The black haired one quietly shouts “you hide or anything”, as the white-haired one zips under a pile of wood. Using his ghostly tail to make himself look like a sleeping cat. While the black haired one pretends to be passed out in the corner, clearly visible to any incoming people.
“Danny! Oh my god! What are you doing here!” A women runs up and shakes the black haired boy, Danny. Danny then pretends to groggily wake up due to the shaking, “m-mom? Wha?”. Danny looks around and pretends to be unaware of his surroundings, it’s extremely effective.
“Danny-boy, are you ok?” A large man in orange asks. “Jack, I think it’s better we get him home” then the lady turns back to Danny “honey you’ve been missing all day, where have you been?”. Running from you, “Uh, can’t say I know”. shaking his head, Jack says “yeah Mads, I think it’s best we just go home. I think Danny boy here whacked his head a little too hard. Whoops.”.
Just as Maddie and Jack are getting Danny, who’s still pretending to be groggy, into the Fenton assault RV. The white-haired version slips out of the building just at the wrong moment. “Mads! Look! Phantom! We still got a chance!”. Jack aggressively grabs the wheel spinning it around, sending the RV after the boy. “You’re not getting away this time you ectoplasmic menace!” Oh come on! Danny Phantom mentally grumbled. Jacks awful driving, however, was a problem. Resulting in the vehicle careening off to the side, back doors flying open and sending Danny Fenton flying out. Who’s knee jerk reaction is just to phase through the wall. “Wait shit!” As Danny Fenton spins his head back to the wall, that a human shouldn’t have been able to go through. Just as he’s about to hop right back through a stray ectonet from his parents, flings around him cutting him off from using his powers. “Oh for Plasmius sake”, Danny Fenton groans from in the net. Danny Phantom, on the other hand, flies around and through a bunch of other walls, redirecting his parents away from Danny Fenton. “CRAP! SHIT! What the fuck am I supposed to do now?” Sighing, Danny Phantom gets one potentially stupid idea and he doesn’t know yet just how stupid it will be.
Dropping to the ground to conserve and build up more energy, Danny Phantom makes haste and sneakily works his way to the wall that Danny Fenton stupidly phased through. “I am giving myself a C- for plan creation and execution today” Danny Fenton shakes his head, still inside the net. At that time Danny Phantom just makes it back to the wall, using his stored up energy he duplicates again; failing to notice the sharp jab in his back. Once again white hair faces black hair, and black gives a thumbs up as he pretends to be knocked out, slouching against the wall. Danny Phantom quickly squeezes himself behind a wall and just fucking waits, hoping his parents don’t have a scanner on them.
Jack and Maddie grumpily ball up their fists at the now likely escaped ectoplasmic scum. But quickly run up to Danny when they see him slumped against a wall. Maddie lifting Danny up as Jack flips the RV back over, like a straight beast. Everyone loaded back in again, they finally do indeed go home. Jack and Maddie both feeling highly guilty about the (fake)knocked out teen in the back seat. They don’t even attempt to check the scanner, instead putting their son first as they should have from the start.
Back at the warehouse, Danny Phantom comes out of hiding and removes the weird dart from his shoulder blade; instantly feeling off. “Ok, bad idea” after a couple seconds, “ok, really bad idea” as suddenly there’s a fourth Danny and something about him is not right. Then there’s a fifth, then sixth and then a seventh.“Oh fuck”, Danny quickly sticks the dart back in. Thankfully, no more Danny’s split from him however the Danny’s start teleporting all over the place like a glitching hellscape. Groaning head titled back, with a hand on the dart making sure it doesn’t accidentally fall out. “What did I ever do to deserve this”, at that second one Danny teleports and smashes straight into him. Knocking the dart out. By the time Danny has scrambled to the dart and jabbed himself again, there’s 11 new Danny’s. “Ok now I feel like I’m going to be sick”, Danny watches the hell show of Danny’s bouncing about, occasionally smacking each other, and slowly flips out his phone calling Sam.
“Hey Sam”
“What’s the problem now Danny”
“You’re not going to believe this but there’s like 17 Danny’s right now and I can’t make it stop, without stabbing myself with this STUPID FUCKING DART! Anyways how’s your day been?”
“Danny, what the fuck? Do you, like, want that suppressor jacket Tuck made? And my day’s been worrying, you dick. You just up and vanished!”
“Yeah that sounds like a good I-ack!” As two Danny’s slam into him, the dart comes out for only a few seconds before he shoves it back in. But that was enough time to make more Danny’s.
“Danny?”
“GREAT! JUST GREAT! THAT'S JUST WHAT I NEEDED! THERE'S THREE FUCKING MORE NOW AND THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME DAMN FACIAL EXPRESSION!”
“Okay Plasmius cool down, Tucks on his way to your phone's location. You Pan or Fan?”
“Drying Pan all the way. Can’t be a Screaming Fan with this STUPID FUCKING DART IN ME! And I’ve been running all freaking day, Power bars down the drain.”
“Wow, well do I need to set up anything for when you get here?”
“Ectoproof-fishing line maybe, to control these wild Danny’s”
“Uh can’t you just, exert self-control”
“FUCKING NOPE, APPARENTLY NOT! THEY'RE JUST FUCKING. TELEPORTING EVERYWHERE”
“That’s actually way more concerning, what the hell.”
“Shit looks like Tucks here, so uh talk later?”
“Yeah sure Danny, I don’t know how your life always goes like this”
Hanging up the phone, Danny carefully works his way around all the bouncing, teleporting and floating Danny Phantom duplicates. The Danny Fenton who has finally gotten himself out of the net, phases his head through the wall and just mutters “this is so fucked”, walking fully through the wall; Fenton follows the “normal” Phantom. Tucker, then makes his way around a wall staring at his PDA. The two “normal” Danny’s just stare at him as one of the wild Danny’s crashes into him. “What the fuck Danny!” Then Tucker looks around and to the two Danny’s that are just standing. “Uh Danny?”. The two Danny’s nod “yeah, we’re fucking normal, well as normal is I or we can ever be. Welcome to hell.” They finish as another wild Danny slams into Danny Fenton. “Normal” Danny Phantom walks over to Tucker “dude I can’t take this stupid dart ou-” Danny Phantom gets cut off as both he and Tucker are slammed by a wild Danny. “This is like teleportation Danny ping-pong! What the hell Danny!”. Danny Phantom snapping his head over to Tucker “Oh I dOn’T kNoW mAyBe I wAnTeD tHiS fReSh HeLl TuCkEr!!!!”...yanking Tucker over to him. “JUST GIVE ME THE FUCKING VEST TUCK!!!”. Just as another wild Danny crash into them sending the dart flying “OH FUCK ME SIDEWAYS AND UP A FUCKING POLE!”. As more Danny’s start popping up Tucker aggressively shoves the vest at him. Then Tucker takes off after the dart, as Danny gets the vest on and activates it. “OH THANK FUCK! IT ACTUALLY FUCKING WORKED!” Danny flops on the ground as Danny Fenton walks over and helps Tucker avoid the wild Danny’s. Tucker shoves the dart into his pocket and immediately drags both “normal” Danny’s outside. In the process one very exhausted Danny Phantom returns to Fenton form. Tucker, then looking between the two Fenton’s and then through the doorway at the 40 odd wild Danny Phantoms. Turning back to the Fenton’s “how is this even possible? Last I checked you could only do four and that was pushing it and what the fuck is wrong with their faces?” Danny on the left just jabs a finger at him and says “you’re dragging our asses to Sams, crazy wild Danny’s included”. The other Danny cuts in “and all those are that darts fault and that dart is courtesy of my parents and I’ve been missing today also due to my parents and I CURRENTLY WANT TO DIE!”. Tucker just looks back into the room “so what are we going to do? play fucking Pokemon with your hellspawn and again what’s with the faces?” Glaring at Tucker right side Danny says “I fucking guess so and I don’t fucking know, IT'S NOT LIKE I HAVE ANY FUCKING CONTROL OVER THEM!”. “Fucking Christ” Tucker breathes. “Dude all I’ve got is 3 thermoses and obviously you don’t have one at all otherwise you would have caught some already”. Tucker looks at the Danny’s as they just stare and slowly facepalm each other. “Danny you have got to be kidding me”   Tucker groans when left side Danny shrugs saying “we were just going tackle them and drag them to Sam’s. Stringing them to ectoline like fucking balloons.” Left Danny then pulls out a, clearly empty, thermos. “You’re a fucking tit, you know that?” Right side Danny glares and then points at other Danny “that FUCKER has been running all FUCKING day, I’ve been stuck inside a FUCKING net and the third one is off pretending to be knocked the FUCK out on the Fenton couch. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM US!”. Tucker’s jaw drops “there’s another one? Seriously? And man you’ve had one hell of a day.” Both them glare at him and shout “TELL ME ABOUT IT!”.
“Alright, Danny’s let's take some of that, clearly pent-up, anger out on yourselves.” Pausing to think “do you think that counts as self-punishment?”. One of the Danny’s hits him on the head with their thermos as the other says “I can’t feel whatever happens to them others wise I’D BE SCREAMING IN FUCKING AGONY BY NOW”. Tucker is confused until he clues in that the wild Danny’s are straight up crashing into everything, spinning and teleporting rapidly. “Ok, point and I also think you would be vomiting, sweet Plasmius. Uh I think we should do this shit, like, now, dude”. Shrugging the two Danny’s run in, fucking screaming, thermos’s in hand and shooting the beam everywhere. Shaking his head Tucker runs in and joins the fun. Eventually, Tucker has to switch to his second thermos because, sweet fuck there are so many Danny’s. Eventually, they stand, with shaking thermoses and one remaining wild Danny. One of the Danny’s eyes his thermos with a mix of caution and anger “this shit is going to FUCKING EXPLODE”. “Yeah no shit Danny, so I guess let’s tackle? The last one and just like drag it away?”. The other Danny shrugs “yeah, fuck it and then we’ll throw it at Sam. Maybe the balloon idea is still useful.”. Tucker chuckles “that is going to be fucking hilarious”. On that note the three fucking leap on the last wild Danny as it spins in front of them. However, the wild Danny keeps teleporting; dragging the Danny’s and Tucker with it. “HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT NOT HAPPY TIME NOT HAPPY TIME” Tucker cries as one or both? Danny’s scream “OH YOU GOD DAMN FUCK, FUCK ALL OF THIS I WILL FUCK YOU WITH A POLE AND ROLL YOU IN FUCKING CAT LITTER!”. The Danny’s just end up wailing on the wild Danny, teeth bared and basically full on feral. Scaring the living hell out of Tucker, as Tucker just decides fuck it and suck the wild Danny into his over-filled thermos as well. The three get dropped to the ground, both Danny’s completely started and genuinely mad at their opponent's sudden cop-out. “WHAT THE FUCK!” Both snapping their heads towards Tucker, “TUCK! WHAT THE FUCK!”. Tucker just throws his hand up at the two feral ass Danny’s “dude it needed to be done, chill out.”. Lowering his hands “though honestly, I shouldn’t be surprised you’d be so eager to beat yourself up”. The two Danny’s get up and silently stalk over to him, grabbing both his arms as he internally freaks out. They drag him outside the building, Tucker finally rights himself and gets them to let go. Tucker digs into his pockets and throws down a tiny disc creating a tiny self-contained ghost trap and he puts the thermos’s inside. Both Danny’s follow suit, though they do it angrily.
“Dudes, my cars just down there. Like always I’ll ask you, try not to destroy it.” Both Danny’s flip him off but then all three of them burst out laughing. “This is easily the weirdest fucking thing to ever happen to me and whoops” Tucker instantly stops “whoops what Danny?”...”DANNY WHOOPS WHAT?”. One of the Danny’s says “third me joined us in laughing and now mom and dad thinks he has a concussion”. Tucker laughs some more “Wow this day really really hates you”.
Meanwhile, in the Fenton household. “Jazz I’m fine, I swear!” Jazz glares at him “Danny you keep barely containing laughter, jerking randomly and your basically furious for no reason. You are not fine.”. Danny falls back groaning against the sofa as his parents hover around him and Jazz, kicking his legs and silently screaming into the pillow. Rolling back over he growls and stares defiantly at the ceiling. I really wish she knew our code terms right about now. At least other mes are off to Sam’s now. This is all just fucking peachy, fucking great. Jazz snaps her fingers in Danny’s face “there you go being all pissed off again.”. Maddie chimes in “Jasmine, sweetie are you sure he doesn’t need to go to the hospital?”. Both Jazz and Danny quickly say “no, that’s not needed.”. Danny, trying to salvage the situation, “how bout I just take a nap, right here and we can all see how, TOTALLY FINE I AM. Once I’m awake and y’all have CHILLED OUT.” Danny forcibly curls up on the couch pulling blankets over his shoulders. “Fine. But I’m staying here and watching you for anything. And I mean anything” Jazz says with understood meaning. Danny, of course, doesn’t actually fall asleep but he makes a damn good show of it. Jazz eventually shoos Jack and Maddie to bed and as soon as they’re gone Danny snaps his eyes open. Jazz, startled “ Danny what the hell?”. Rolling his eyes “I was waiting for them to go because they don’t know”, Jazz is confused for a heartbeat but then nods. “Ah so ghost thing then?” Chuckling Danny says “I’m a duplicate Jazz, mom and dad spent all day running after me so much so that I had to duplicate to trick them away. But then I had to do it again because they found Phantom me, again and then I entered a brand new fresh hell.”. Jazz stares and then shakes herself “so where’s the real you or aren’t your duplicates real yous as well? And what do you mean by hell?” Jazz quickly looks up checking that Jack and Maddie really are in bed. “The other two are with Tuck and about 40 or 50 other Danny’s” at that Jazz goes completely bugged eyed “what? How?” Danny huffs “like I told Tuck like, 2 hours ago. Parents got me with a weird dart and my duplication powers went fucking nutty. Got Tuck to bring a power suppression vest we designed, shit fucking works it seems, and now we’re heading to Sam’s to try and fix it.” Jazz shakes her head “so what there’s, what 50 or so invisible yous all flying into one house?”. Danny bursts out laughing at this “fuck no, all the duplicates that resulted from the dart thing are completely fucked up. Bouncing all over the god damn place, teleporting and shit. To kick that shit off  I have no fucking control over them at all so they’re all stuffed in thermos’s”. Jazz rubs her temples, “well I can’t let you, or at least this you, go over to Sam’s. That would be too suspicious.” Sighing “so you’ll just have to stay put and try to act normal.”. Danny stares at her “fucking normal? Really and how fucking well has that worked so far. I’m exhausted, been assaulted multiple times by myself, assaulted myself, and did I mention that the stupid vest is very fucking uncomfortable?” Jazz raises her eyebrows so Danny continues on with his rant. “It’s like being fucking pressure cooked inside a pot filled with nails. But if I take it off BAM! More fucking wild Danny’s. Plus so long as it’s on I can’t absorb any duplicates. It’s fucking exhausting controlling three fucking bodies. Being stuck in a net for hours also wasn’t any fucking fun, they’re not made for comfort you know. Oh and both my legs are fucking busted from going out a fucking window and shit-“ Danny bats away Jazz’s hand as she, alarmed, tries to check his legs. “Not these fucking legs, my originals. I don’t even think Tuck’s fucking noticed since I’ve been fucking floating every damn where. But I had to run on them for a bit to conserve energy earlier so they’re probably pretty damn fucked.”. Jazz sits massaging her head, “is there literally anything I can do Danny? And please have your original stay off your or their legs.”. Chuckling “Jazz all you can really do is help convince mom and dad I’m fine so I can go over to Sam’s as soon as possible. The trips going to take about another 10 minutes. So it’d be fucking fantastic if I could focus on the shit going down there, rather than trying to put my effort towards managing mom and dad here.”. Jazz sighs, “I’ll do what I can little brother, for now you can just pretend to be sleeping at least. Think you can tell me what the dart looks like though, so I can check the lab for it?”. Danny facepalms, “yeah, fuck, that’s probably a good idea. I don’t know what colour the liquid or whatever inside was but it’s about the size of my thumb, has a flaming Fenton F on it, and the needle part is really fucking long.”. Jazz pats Danny on the shoulder as she gets up “alright you get some sleep and try to sort this out.”. With that Jazz heads down to the lab with one more look in on her parents, who have both fallen asleep.
Tucker pulls up to Sam’s place and the Danny’s phase them and their cargo straight into her room. “Wow that took you, three? A while. What the hell happened?” Sam asks with a curious smirk. Tucker’s the first to open his mouth “well the Danny’s basically assaulted us, we had to play Pokemon with them and Dannys’ parents think his other duplicate has a concussion.” One of the Danny’s throws his hands up “Yeah because I’m acting fucking nutty because of dealing with these FUCKING THINGS!” he gestured wildly to the thermoses. “Don’t need the ectoline anymore by the way. Oh, also both legs are fucking smashed”. Tucker whips around “dude what! When?”. And Sam aggressively says “sit” while pointing to her bed after putting plastic on it. “When I fucking launched myself out a DAMN window after being smacked in the face by a SIGN and destroying a child’s ice-cream cone.” Sam rolls her eyes “you damn monster”. “I couldn’t fucking float cause my power bar was down the drain. Still kinda is but not so damn bad.”. Tucker shakes his head “dude, again, today hates you.”. The second Danny floats over to Tucker as the first Danny lifts up his pant legs. “You have any more vests? Cause while this shit is horribly fucking uncomfortable it’s better than descending waves of wild Danny’s upon Amity Park.” Tucker shakes his head “no, but I’ll get right on that cause yeah I don’t want to see another one of them.” Sam rolls her eyes “could they really be that bad, basically they’re just Danny but not under his control right?” Both Tucker and the two Danny’s all say “sweet Plasmius fucking no”. Just as Sam exclaims “Plasmius Danny! Did you like walk around on them like this or something?!”. The Danny’s smirk. “You fucking did you moron!” Sam slaps him on the head as she gets to work fixing his shredded legs. After about an hour the second Danny pipes up, “hey, Jazz found some more of what is likely the STUPID FUCKING DARTS that did this. And of course there’s no already made cure for it because WHY WOULD THERE FUCKING BE!”. Tucker waves off the Danny “we’ll just have to make our own. Think other you or Jazz could get it here?” Danny shakes his head “no they’ve basically under lockdown till that Danny’s deemed healthy. But I don’t see why this Danny can’t go.” Danny starts to float but prompt slams back down with an angry growl, both Danny’s suddenly look much worse for the wear. “Uh dude, I think that’s not happening. I’ll just go myself.” The Danny slumped on the windowsill flat out growls “this is FUCKING STUPID!”. Sighing Sam asks the Danny she’s working on “should we be concerned?”. That Danny shakes his head tiredly “no it’s just because of all the duplication and actively maintaining 3 bodies. The fucked up Danny’s don’t seem to be a drain but the two true fuckers are”. The other Danny turns his head over “hey, I take offence to that!”. Which causes for Sam to look quite concerned. “Fuckin chill Sam, I’m stuck with this bullshit for now so I’m going to fucking dick around with it. Plasmius I could use a fucking nap”. Danny flops back in the bed, earning a glare from Sam. “I’m trying to fix your legs you know and I hate to say it but this is a lost cause. You are actually going to have to go get this fixed, Danny.” Windowsill Danny is the one to respond “ha! BeCaUsE tHaT wIlL gO oVeR sO fUcKiNg WeLl! Hey, Mr. And Mrs. Fenton your son came in with his legs straight fucked.” Moving his hands wildly “What do you mean he’s sitting on our fucking couch with a probable concussion”.  Sam sighs “yeah well, Danny only so much can be done without actual major surgical equipment. And they won’t let even me buy that stuff, they’re afraid of start-up serial killers or something.”. This time bed Danny replied, “well then I’ll just wait my legs out and see if they fix themselves”. Sam stands up so she knows he can see her glaring “Danny that’s completely moronic, the sooner you go the better. This isn’t going to magic itself away.”. All she gets out of bed Danny before he passes out is “says you”.
—During that time at Fenton works—
Jazz watches as Danny just sorta groans and then suddenly looks like he just ran a marathon. “Danny, you alright there?” Concern filling her voice. “Yeah just tired and drained, by now I’d normally have automatically reabsorbed my duplicates but I can’t with the vest on. So I’m still expending energy maintaining them, oh and Tucks on his way over for the darts.” Jazz nods understanding, “I’ll give it to him when he gets here but you need to actually sleep or let the original you sleep.” Danny just tiredly waves her off and he wiggles in his blankets. By the time Tucker gets there Danny is out cold. “Tucker quick question, just how bad are actual Danny’s legs?” Jazz asks as she gives Tucker the darts she found. Tucker, pulling out the one from his pocket confirms they’re the same before answering “pretty bad, the idiot walked with them all busted up”. Jazz sighs “I know, he mentioned that while ranting. I’m not impressed.”. Tucker, chuckling “I don’t think anyone is but-”
Tucker is cut off by a massive explosion. Tucker sighs but Jazz is the one to speak “I don’t want any of hims going off fighting. I don’t care what it is, Danny gets the night off.”. Tucker chuckles “tell that to Danny not me...” Tucker trials off as he stares at the road “oh no”. “Whatever it is Danny’s not dealing with it”. Tucker just side-eyes her, “Uh actually it’s Danny or a Danny that needs to be dealt with”. Jazz juts her head out the door as she says “what?”. Quickly she spots Danny floating in the street with a strange facial expression when it suddenly is above someone house and then slams into a mailbox. “Dear god, that’s one of the wild Danny’s isn’t it. God that’s weird.” Tucker nods “yeah now imagine 40 of them all doing that in a small room”. Tucker turns and waves bye at her as he runs off back to Sam’s. Leaving Jazz to shake her head at Danny’s sleeping form though she pauses when she notices that he almost looks like he’s glitching occasionally. “Well there’s no way that’s good”.
When Tucker gets back he sees that Sam’s side window and wall have all been blown out, one Danny is passed out in the grass and Sam appears to be carrying the other. Shouting at Tucker “we need to get both them somewhere safe to recharge and holy hell you guys were not kidding about these things being hellspawn.”. Just as she finishes a wild Danny knocks her feet out as it slams into them, causing her to fling broken legs Danny on to the ground. Grunting awake, that Danny goes to get up but Tucker rushes over, “dude, no you are way too drained. Go back to sleep.” Tucker, picking him up yells to Sam “grab the other, well take them to Danny’s house. Mines too far away and we have to deal with this bullshit before they destroy the town!”. “Roger that! He can heal faster in his room anyways!” Sam yells back as she hoists up the lawn Danny. Booking it down the street to Danny’s house.
Jazz is watching the board-cast of the dubbed “dannypocalypse” that just started on ghost watch, as Sam and Tucker burst in carrying two unconscious Danny’s. “How the hell aren’t your parents up?” Sam asks as she and Tucker take the Danny’s to his/their room. Once they run back down as quietly as they can Jazz answers “dad can sleep through anything and mom has special earplugs to sleep through dad.”. The two nod as the rush to the lab, coming back up with many thermoses in tow. Quickly running right out the door, shouting back “take couch Danny to his room!”. Jazz quickly does so, though she’s not sure why, before she shakes her head as she turns back to the screen covered in Danny’s going everywhere like ping-pong balls of doom while also teleporting randomly. One flies face first at the camera with its never-changing facial expression, almost making her scream. Shaking herself off “at least they’re all Phantoms, otherwise Danny would be completely outed.”. Jazz opts to go back to the lab, to see what else she can find. It doesn’t take her too long to find the plans for the darts. “Well, this would have been useful to find earlier. Tucker could use these I’m sure.”. Sitting down Jazz elects to read over the plans herself. Eventually wheezing out “oh Danny is going to love this.”.
Sam and Tucker spend most of the night rounding up the Danny’s but early on they had been joined by The Red Huntress. “What the hell are you two doing?!”. Tucker looking up “what does it look like? Making fine wine?”. Gliding down near them she fires a blast at a wild Danny, making it spin but leaving it completely unharmed “what the hell is up with these things!? They're like indestructible!?”. Tucker chuckles as he catches another wild Danny in his thermos. “For once you really truly can blame the Fenton’s!”. Sam shoots Tucker a warning glare but he just rolls his eyes at her. “What the hell do you mean?!” The Red Huntress asks as she full on drops to the ground walking up to Tucker. Tucker whips out his PDA, scrolls a bit and shows her the image some kid had captured of the offending dart hitting Danny in the back with the Fenton’s holding the weapon. Shaking her head “Jesus Christ what the hell was in that! And you’d think after everything they would have stopped going after him!”. Shrugging Sam says “that’s stubborn grown-ups for you”. Eventually catching up a sizeable amount of Danny’s, The Red Huntress walks up to the two of them; deciding now is a good time to have a relaxed conversation in the middle of the street as the remaining wild Danny’s wreak havoc. “you two have any clue where the actual Phantom is or how to fix this?”. Tucker smirks “well hopefully, his resting because there’s no way this” gesturing at the occasional wild Danny, “isn’t exhausting”. She nods curtly “yeah from what I’ve seen duplication is really tiring but there’s something seriously wrong with these duplicates”. Sam mutters under her breath “yeah no shit”. “Well whatever, I’m going to the Fenton’s to see if I can find that dart thing and tear a new one into those idiots.” The Red Huntress turns to leave but Tucker snatches out to grab her arm. “No!” Composing himself as she eyes him annoyed. Tucker fishes in his pants, producing the empty dart “already done and the Fenton’s are sleeping. Personally, I don’t want them waking up to this and trying to “deal with it” themselves.”. The Red Huntress takes the dart and eyes it “I figured as much, you were probably already hanging out at Danny when this happened. Where is Danny anyways?”. Sam and Tucker both shrug unable to come up with a good excuse. “Figures, that kid runs off at the worst of times. But I AM going to Fenton Works and I AM berating those two. They deserve to experience this bullshit, reap what the sow and all that.” The Red Huntress zips away before either can stop her. “Well fuck” is all Tucker has to say as the once hunter of Danny Phantom flies to Danny’s House, which has two too many Danny’s in it. At that moment another car alarm goes of as the stiff arm of a wild Danny impales it.
The Red Huntress speeds over to Fenton works and knocks angrily on the door. Jazz, all too familiar with angry knocks, glares at the door as she walks over “Well look another pissed off basket case, hooray for me.”. Opening the door she’s shocked to find The Red Huntress. Composing herself quickly “let me guess, you want Fenton stuff to help deal with the dannypocalypse?” As The Red Huntress steps in aggressively. “Tucker apparently is already working on the dart thing so no, I’m here to shout angrily at YOUR DAMN PARENTS”. The Red Huntress, quickly stalks up the stairs before Jazz can stop her but just before she gets past Danny’s room one of the Danny’s pitches out the door crashing to the floor in front of her. Both The Red Huntress and Jazz yelp “Danny! Are you ok?”. The Red Huntress momentarily forgets about the Fenton’s in lue of helping Danny. However, one of the other Danny’s was already dragging that Danny by his feet back into the room. Looking up, the second Danny locks eyes with The Red Huntress‘s helmet. Who quickly jerks her head up and down from Danny to Danny as Jazz just stares in shock. “Danny? Danny what the HELL!” The Red Huntress borderline yells but is quickly hushed by Jazz as the floor Danny replies “Uh, hi?” As the third Danny, with still broken legs groans “THIS DAY COULDN'T GET ANY MORE FUCKING PERFECT!”. Causing The Red Huntress to shove her head in the door as Jazz pinches her nose. The Red Huntress, no longer giving a shit, as she takes in the sight of a third Danny, rips off her helmet off. “WHAT THE FUCK!”. Jazz throws her hands up completely giving up on the hope of some peace and quiet. She then follows Valarie, as she storms in. Jazz stops to help second Danny heave the floor Danny off the floor and onto a beanie-bag. Sighing “why can’t you ever just let yourself sleep, Danny”. Valarie paces back and forth. “Why are there three of you? HOW are the three of you? What is going on? WHO ARE YOU?!”. Danny mutters “a lot of fucking bullshit that’s what” before genuinely responding. “Now is like the worst fucking time Valarie, BUT GOOD GOD DAMN FUCK IT!”. The broken Danny flails his arms straight up smacking another Danny in the face. Beanie-bag Danny and just-fucking-smacked-in-the-face Danny turn and glare at broken Danny. “I will hit me IF I DAMN WELL WANT TO!” Broken Danny shouts as the just-fucking-smacked-in-the-face Danny starts weakly smacking him, which then descends into a slap fight. Valarie rips them apart shouting “I’ll repeat WHAT THE FUCK DANNY!”. The beanie-bag Danny stands up and points at her as she turns her head to him, still holding the two other Danny’s wrists in the air. “EVERY SINGLE KIND OF FUCK! EVERY SINGLE ONE! FENTON PHANTOM FENTON PHANTOM! SAME FUCKING THING! NOW PUT ME DOWN!”. Jazz then realized that broken Danny’s actually being lifted off the bed as Valarie quickly drops both Danny’s. Broken Danny rubs a hand down his left leg “fucking Christ FUCK ME SO MUCH!” Jazz runs over, yanking his pant leg up to check for bleeding. Groaning, she runs downstairs to get fresh bandaging. Valarie wide-eyed and worried “what happened to your leg?” And not even half a second later “WAIT WHAT DO YOU MEAN “SAME FUCKING THING!” WHAT THE FUCK!”. The Danny that was previously on a beanie-bag grabs her shoulders, spinning her around, and just straight up transforms into Phantom in front of her. “HOW THE FUCK!” Valarie jumps a couple of inches off the floor and nearly falls over but standing Danny Fenton catches her. Just as Sam, Tucker and Jazz all run into the room.
“Wow, didn’t know you two? Had gotten back together” Sam smirks with a hand on her hip as she waves around her thermos. Danny Phantom, being closest to the door, looks them up and down; noting their dishevelled appearances. “Ok, what the fuck did I miss?”. Valarie, struggling back to her feet, “we haven’t and how? Seriously how? Did you miss THE FUCKING SWARM OF PHANTOMS OUTSIDE!” All three Danny’s snap their heads to Sam and Tucker as Jazz slips over to broken Danny, getting to work on his leg. Sam noticing “did you fuck your legs up again you moron?”. While Tucker explains “the wild Danny’s all fucking escaped dude”. All three Danny’s shout “WHAT!”. Everyone flinching to cover their ears, Tucker turns to Jazz “how in the hell are your parents still asleep?”. At this Jazz just shrugs. Meanwhile, Sam groans out “yeah and they blew up my damn room, I don’t even have walls anymore!”. Valarie starts waving her hands around “whoa whoa, wait what? You mean to tell me you already captured them all once! And again What. The. Hell. Danny!”. Jazz sighs “ apparently they did and the rundown is basically-” taking a deep breath “Danny is half ghost and Phantom is his ghost form. The basement ghost portal messed him up when it turned on-“ broken Danny cutting in “with me inside it, might I fucking remind you”. Jazz continuing, “-basically half killing him. But our parents don’t know so could you. Stop. Shouting.”. Valarie looks from Danny to Danny, taking in all three. Slightly hurt, “why didn’t you FUCKING TELL ME YOU MORON! I’ve been fucking hunting you and all this fucking time you-! I could have KILLED YOU!” Suddenly one last wild Danny wizzes past the window as Tucker groans running down the steps. Valarie, sitting down finally, “and what the hell danny, how did this and that happen?!” She gestures towards the three Danny’s and then jab’s her thumb at the window. Phantom explaining, for what feels like the 50th time, “parents chase me. Duplicate to escape, twice. Get darted. Wild Danny’s everywhere. And before you ask, I DO NOT HAVE ANY FUCKING CONTROL OVER THEM!”. “And the legs?” Valerie asks. As Sam and Jazz say in unison “he jumped through a window”. Valarie looks at the broken Danny “and why didn’t you just float or whatever you moron.”. Broken Danny crosses his arms “I was too fucking exhausted ok. I’d been running all fucking day. And as soon as my parents found Fenton me they had the FUCKING AUDACITY TO ASK ME WHERE I HAD BEEN ALL FUCKING DAY!”. Tucker coming back in shakes his head “dude, at this point you should just tell them.”. All the Danny’s roll their eyes and broken Danny asks “so have you figured out how to fix this yet so I can take this STUPID FUCKING THING OFF!” Danny points at his vest. Tucker just lets his hands fall limp to his sides “dude, I haven’t even had a chance to look at the darts. I’ve been chasing yous all over town.”. Jazz perks up as she remembers the dart plans, pulling them out of her back pocket she shoves them at broken Danny. “I found this in the lab after Tucker left. Thankfully, it’s not harmful but well...” she trails off as Danny glares angrily at the paper, then Tucker grabs it away . Slowly the paper is passed around as everyone, even Valarie begins to snicker. Not-broken Danny Fenton mutters “I’m going to fucking kill you all.”. Jazz smirks, “Danny, it’s pretty funny. If you had used literally any other power before getting darted you wouldn’t be in this mess.”. Broken Danny crosses his arms and grumbles “I was conserving energy”. “And there lies the irony” Tucker says sticking a finger in the air “in trying to conserve energy you stuck yourself in a way where you expend even more energy”. Earning a glare from Danny, “I will strangle you in your sleep.”.  Jazz smacks his head, “not on these legs you won’t”. Danny smacks his own forehead “I really am a dumbass”. Tucker smirks as he says “that’s what we’ve all been telling you, dude” as broken Danny sits up and simultaneous changes to Phantom and into his ghostly tail. Everyone jerks at the loud snapping sounds that makes. “DANNY WHAT THE FUCK!”, “YOU REALISE YOU’RE A DUMBASS ONLY TO BE A DUMBASS!”, “HOW DOES THIS HELP ANYTHING!”. Broken Danny rolls his eyes as he changes his tail back to legs. Having functionally, reset every piece of bone into its rightful spot. Sam just gapes “how the?”. As she runs over inspecting his still mangled legs but no longer with bones or bone chips out of place. “I’m not sure whether to call you a dumbass for not doing that sooner or call you a genius for knowing that would work.”. Tucker eyes Danny, “you did know that would work right?”. All three Dannys’ just shrug as everyone else sighs. Tucker turning back to the plans and the darts in hand “I’m going to be in the lab actually getting somewhere on this.” He jumps down the steps two at a time.
After a few minutes of awkward silence, “So how the hell have you guys been telling the Dannys’ apart?”. Both Sam and slightly-less-broken-but-still-broken Danny answer “we haven’t been”. Danny, shrugging “they’re all me so it doesn’t really matter which one you talk to”. Valarie shakes her head “yeah well, that’s too damn weird for me today. I’m all maxed out on weird.”. Sam sighs “ok then...how the hell are we going to tell you three apart.” As she turns to face the Danny that’s closest to her, which happens to be broken Danny. “Well doesn’t Original Danny have to wear the suppressor vest, so he’s easy” Jazz supplies. “Well that still leaves two” Valarie grumbles, still rather freaked out at the sight of three Dannys’.
“You know what? We’ll just fucking wear wrist bands” as broken Danny grabs a white cuff, Fenton Danny puts on a black cuff, and Phantom Danny lifts up a green cuff. Jazz, taking the three in, “yeah, that’ll work. Subtle but noticeable, comfy yet stylish.”. Tucker interjects through Danny’s phone “and in your colours, all you’d need is red and you’d have your entire make up.” White Danny rolls his eyes, “Tuck, I also have blue eyes.”. Everyone can hear Tucker slap his own face as Valarie mutters “are we just going to ignore that Tucker’s on the phone without there being a call”. White Danny rolls his eyes “he fucking hacked it, what’s new... though he SHOULD BE FOCUSED ON OTHER THINGS!” White Danny finishes, shouting. “It’s not like I’m holding the damn phone and you know how I hate being out of the loop.”, to Tucker’s credit they can hear him tinkering away. “If anyone gets to be pissy about being out of the loop it’s me, YOU FUCKS!” Valerie cuts in as black Danny rubs his neck. As white Danny yells,“Well, you spent all your time TRYING TO FUCKING MURDER ME!” She glares at him and huffs “I WOULD HAVE STOPPED IF YOU FUCKING TOLD ME!”. Black Danny throws his hands up, “I AINT NO FUCKING MINDREADER! MAYBE YOU SHOULD HAVE FUCKING ASKED!” Valerie gaps at him, “HOW THE FUCK WAS I EVEN SUPPOSED TO KNOW THIS SHIT WAS POSSIBLE! NO ONE ASKS ABOUT THE IMPOSSIBLE DANNY!” Sam smirks, “and that right there is why no one has figured you out yet Danny.”. Green Danny glares at Sam, “WELL THAT’S FUCKING STUPID AND THIS TOWN IS FUCKING STUPID!”. Everyone else just shrugs, unable to disagree. Then a realization dawns on Valerie, “you, you fucking dated me even though you knew I was trying to kill you?” Sam nods as does every Danny. “ARE YOU COMPLETELY INSANE!”. Sam smirks, “that’s what I said. But Mr. Deathwish over here didn’t care”.  “LET ME BURY MY SELF PRESERVATION IN PEACE!”. As both Sam and Valerie groan, white Danny rubs at his chest annoyed that it seems tighter. When suddenly he hears cracking sounds and all the Danny’s look at the vest.
“OH, YOU HAVE GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME!” White Danny cries as he watches the pieces of his suppression vest explode outwards, as if in slow-motion. Instantaneously, over three hundred wild Danny’s’ explode out of him like an absurdist supernova. The grand overwhelming mass of Dannys’ blasts out Danny’s walls, floor and ceiling, destroying half the house and leaving Danny and co. Sprawled all over the blast site. Somehow, through sheer cosmic luck, his parents' bedroom and lab are fully intact; parents still sound asleep. White Danny stands slouching in the centre of everything, wild-eyed and growling. Eventually, as Sam and the two other Danny’s stagger up, white Danny shouts “FUCK ME AND MY VERY EXISTENCE! I AM AN AFRONT TO GOD AND I FUCKING LIKE IT THAT WAY!” before he collapses, unconscious. Valerie rolls over, covered in dirt and a knife? As hundreds of wild Danny’s spin, smack, and crash everywhere. Jazz wanders over to the tv as it springs back to life telling of the dannypocalypse’s sudden return after mysteriously vanishing. Tucker groans “Not again...”. Valarie violently shakes black Danny “WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO THAT FOR YOU MORON!-“ only to get cut off by a wild Danny. Suddenly Tucker bolts up fucking sprinting at the lab, being the only one to notice in the mayhem that even more wild Danny’s are being formed at this very second. He doesn’t even bother taking the stairs, just straight flings himself down. Moving wildly to piece together a fix for this bullshit. Chanting, “fuck me, fuck this, fuck everything”. His manic inventing is highlighted by a backdrop of screaming, destruction, thermos noises, and an endless waterfall of swears.
Up above Sam screams “TUCK WHERE’S THE OTHER DAMN VEST!? TUCK!” Looking around unable to find him “FOR FUCKS SAKE! YOU BETTER BE EITHER DEAD OR OFF DOING SOMETHING USEFUL OR SO HELP ME!”. The two Danny’s aggressively slap the hell out of white Danny’s face, “WAKE UP LUETENET!”. Valarie glares at them as she pole vaults over a wild Danny only to get smacked by two others, “THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR VIDEO GAME REFERENCES! HOLY SHIT! IS EVERYTHING A JOKE TO YOU!”. White Danny is slapped into consciousness just in time to hear that last bit. “YOU BET IT FUCKING IS! I DO WHAT I WANT BECAUSE I! AM! GOD!”. A sledgeHammer slams into the white Danny’s feet, “MUST GOD MOCK ME!”. Looking around the trio of Danny’s realizes the wild Danny’s, in their wild workings, are kicking up and flinging around all the contents he’s stored in that part of the house for years. “I THOUGH YOU WERE GOD”, Valarie shouts back as green Danny dive bombs her from behind. “YEAH AND I’M MOCKING MYSELF!”, Green Danny shouts at her as he rolls away from an incoming wild Danny that has two knives sticking out its chest. “WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT FOR! YOU MADE ME MISS!” Green Danny just glares and points to the needles stabbed into the ground where she once was. “WHAT THE FUCK! WHY ARE THEY THROWING STUFF!”. Sam slams up against the last bit of inside kitchen wall, the five others running to join her; thermos’s all full. Sam wags her finger at white Danny, “NOT YOU! YOU'LL JUST FILL THE INSIDE OF THE HOUSE WITH THESE HELLSPAWN”. White Danny stops, growls and throws his arms out to the side “FUCK YOU TOO THEN!”. Just as a new wild Danny spawns out of him and collides head-on with another wild Danny, inches away from white Danny. The impact sends him flying into the road. Sam and the others can’t see him but they do hear all three Danny’s, two of which are inside with Sam, Jazz and Valarie, shout “HAVEN'T MY LEGS SUFFERED ENOUGH FOR MY SINS!”. Sam shakes her head and mutters “Jesus fucking Christ. I don’t have any more damn bandages.”. Valarie grabs the black Danny “again, WHY THE FUCK are they throwing stuff!”. Danny shoves her off him with his teeth bared, “their FUCKING NOT.”. Jazz interrupts, “I think what Danny’s trying to say is, their stirring up everything in their path and by sheer velocity sending every piece of debris and random items all over the place.”. Valarie looking outside, “WHY THE FUCK DO YOU OWN SO MANY WEAPONS AND SHARP THINGS!”. Sam just sighs, “blame Danny, he hides things intangibly inside his walls. He probably has enough to supply an army in his room walls alone”. “OF COURSE I FUCKING DO! HAVE YOU SEEN MY FUCKING LIFE!”. Hearing a sudden explosion down the street, “Danny, even I think it’s completely insane to keep FUCKING GRENADES inside the walls”. Jazz jumps in just as a wild Danny head smashes its head straight through the only unbroken window, expression never changing. “HOLY FUCK!...and Danny, why the hell would you make you own room a death trap!”. “BECAUSE DEATH GIVES ME LIFE AND EVERY TIME I NEED SOMETHING IT’S FUCKING MOVED! IF ONLY I CAN TOUCH IT THEN NO ONE CAN FUCK WITH MY SHIT!” both Danny’s spin around and crouch, ready to pounce, as Tucker races up the steps, his glasses missing a lense. Bending over and huffing wildly he sticks his hand out, a funky blue dart in it. Green Danny, straightening up, mutters, “you just had to make it blue to spite me didn’t you.” Everyone can see Tucker’s grin as he tilts his head up, other hand still on his knees “now your fucking complete, dude. And I am redeemed.” Sam just shakes her head as she grabs the dart and shoves into green Danny’s palm. “You’re the one with ghost powers and you’re the one duplicating to hell and back. Go fix your shit.”. Valarie steps up, “oh hell no, this moron is not going by himself.” Black Danny puts his hands on hips, “NO FUCKING SHIT”. Valarie just glares at black Danny “YOU’RE BOTH THE SAME DAMN PERSON! IT DOESN'T COUNT! A MORON TIMES TWO IS STILL A MORON!”. Sam groans, “just go out there you angry babies, sweet Plasmius.”. Both Danny’s and Valerie roll their eyes at Sam as they bolt out. Sam leans over to Jazz, “they’re so getting back together”. Tucker smirks as he overhears, “they’re our atomic power couple, get it? Since their both walking warheads?”. Jazz groans, “Danny has tainted you.”. Sam just shrugs, “well, they are a match made in anger, clearly.”. Tucker flops down onto the ground as the house shakes and a wild Danny comes crashing in and just starts ping-pong bouncing around. The three swat at it with brooms. Jazz shakes her head, “I think I better grab more thermos’s. We don’t know that Danny will be able to reabsorb any of these monstrosities.”. Sam calls to her as Jazz runs over to the lab, lightly stepping over needles, knives, two swords and what looks like a jigsaw trap?, “Ms. Psychology textbook! why is it that teenage super heroes are all so angry and aggressive?”. Jazz yells from down the steps “because the ones who aren’t die!” Continuing as she comes back up, arms full of sweet sweet thermos, “you can’t face the things they do, day after day, carry the responsibilities, and keep deep secrets like that; without being an energetic firecracker. Aggressive anger is like determination on steroids.”. Handing out the thermos’s they prepare for another assault on the wild Danny’s as they hear someone, most likely a Danny shout, “VEHICULAR MANSLAUGHTER YOU FUCKING FUCK!”.  They come out in time to see Valerie, on her board, straight up throw one of the “normal” Danny’s at the white Danny. While the other “normal” Danny is two foot stomping on the face of a wild Danny. The three regular humans blast their thermos’s in random directions other than where the three Danny’s are, because the damn wild Danny’s are literally everywhere. Tucker slams the thermos down on the head of a wild Danny just in time to see green Danny flying jab white Danny in the chest with the dart, as white Danny physically flings himself at the impact. Both of whom are snarling, teeth fully bared as they do so. “WHAT IS HE TRYING TO DO! PIERCE HIMSELF STRAIGHT THROUGH OR SOMETHING!” Tucker cries. Sam winds up rolling through a bunch of used bloody bandages at the same time that three becomes one, again. “Can’t he at least throw this stuff out? Lazy fucker”. Danny, all back together, fucking books it over to Jazz who throws a thermos straight at his face, he lets it slam into his face. Muttering, while laying on the ground “now that tickled my nostalgia bone”. Jazz just sighs as everyone continues catching all the wild Danny’s throughout the night.
“Remind me to never use duplication to escape my parents ever again.” Danny groans, as he slumps against a wall. “the only positive is that this has to be a new Highscore for number of times one of us almost died.”. Tucker exhausted slaps him in the chest, “I say lets beat it next year”. Jazz jerks her head over to the boys “absolutely not and Danny sit down. There’s no way your legs are healed.”. At this Danny starts laughing “what the fuck does healed even mean anymore!?”. Jazz grimaces at this. Sam drags Valerie over to the three, “I say we head back to Danny’s, it’s the only place where we won’t get into serious trouble.”. Danny and Jazz scoff “hell they’d be proud”. Jazz adding, “plus we have to make up an explanation for the house.”. “Fuck that! I ain’t doing that! I say watch the fucking news, that’s the fucking story right there!”. Jazz looks at Danny “you know they’ll blame Phantom?”. “NO FUCKING SHIT! DO I CARE!? FUCKING NO!”. Sam smirks, “you could just tell them everything, Pan Fan included”. Danny glares “FUCK NO! EAT A DICK SAM!”. She just rolls her eyes “I can’t, I’m vegan.”. Valarie groans “Uh guys I’d like a couch right about now. And what’s a Pan Fan?”. Danny goes and scoops her up bridal style and just walks off, “Pan means Phantom, Fan means Fenton” calling back to the others “you fucks coming or what?”. As Jazz trails after him scolding him about walking on his, still, broken legs. While Danny and Valerie mutter about code words. Tucker and Sam watch them go a bit before following themselves. Quickly the yard comes into view, Jazz can’t help but shake her head, “how did you even fit half this into your walls Danny.”. “Fucking creatively that’s how, and now there’s NOWHERE TO FUCKING PUT IT!”, Valerie slaps him, “my ears are right here you moron. I would like to keep my eardrums thank you very much.”. Tucker just chuckles “ears, who needs ‘em”. Valerie kicks him with her foot, still being carried by Danny. “Me, that’s who.”. Stepping over many sharp things, the group heads up to where the door used to be.
Maddie and Jack wake up just as the five walk inside. Jack hardly seems to notice the destruction but Maddie is stunned. Sam just turns on the tv to the ghost news as Danny lays Valerie down on the half-destroyed couch. Maddie only takes in the absurd carnage on tv for a little while before turning her attention to the kids. Who are all varying levels of beat up. Danny and Valerie are technically the worst but Danny doesn’t really count. But being ever the mother and not knowing any better, Maddie runs to her son first and demands he sit down. “Danny! What are you doing! You were in no condition to even be leaving the house!” Danny rubs the back of his neck, “things happened and like I said I. Am. Fine.” Sam can’t help but snicker as Danny has to hold his tongue around his parents, they don’t tolerate swearing very well. Maddie just shakes her head, “all of you are going to the hospital now. No buts, Fenton Assualt Vehicle. Now.”. This time Maddie carries the little hunter and they all head off to the, very overcrowded hospital. On the ride there they discuss what happened and in a surprise to no one, they blame Phantom and thinking he must have messed with their dart somehow to cause this. Regardless they scrap the dart project.
Luckily, Danny’s ectoplasm levels are so low from overexertion that he doesn’t raise any red flags in Amity. So he gets off with only leg casts, yes two of them. “Would you look at that, you wound up in the hospital anyways.” Sam gloats. “Yeah and the best part? I CAN’T ACTUALLY TAKE THEM OFF!” Danny flails his now healed up legs around, though he wouldn’t be allowed to remove the casts for months. Since the doctors don’t know shit about him being a halfa or halfa healing. Tucker raises an eyebrow at Sam, Sam leans over and explains “his parents had them lined with anti-ghost thread so they won’t even come off in ghost form.” At this Tucker bursts out laughing. “OH FUCK YOU TOO! YOU CAN BOTH DROWN IN FIRE!”. Tucker waves a hand at Danny, “oh you love us” as Danny grumbles.
All over town, there’s Danny shaped dent marks, impalement holes and other generalized destruction. But, like always, Fenton Works looks the most absurd. There are hundreds of weapons of increasing absurdity strewn all over the yard, house and road. Most of them are actually Danny’s, though his parents don’t know that. Jazz managed to convince their parents to let them, with Sam, Tucker and Valerie’s help of course, to clean up the outside. So long as Danny swore to stay in a chair the entire time, much to him and his constant-need-for-action’s, dismay. While cleaning Sam raises an eyebrow at an oddly fish shaped knife, “So what are we going to do with all the wild Danny’s?”. Both Valarie and Danny grin evilly, responding with only one word, “Vlad”. Not even two hours later, only managing to not break Danny’s promise by carrying the entire chair with them, a mysterious package arrives at Vlad’s mansion. Being so egotistical that he refuses to believe anything could really harm him, Vlad idiotically brings it inside to open it. He doesn’t know yet just how idiotic that will truly be.
End.

Note
pleaseeeeeee finish "you don't know jack" i check it constantly hoping one day ill see the last chapter!!!
I knowww I’m working on it, it’s just…hmmm.
Let’s pull back the Ozian curtain for a sec and talk about why I’m having trouble.
This fic started off with a prompt response that was basically just a little cynical speculation on Jack, going off the theory that he’s actually super smart under his bumbling veneer and hides it for whatever reason.
Vlad, btw, is more like a grumpy uncle here, with only occasional homicidal urges (in true fanon fashion.)
The next bit I wrote follows Vlad sharing this new info with Danny, because let’s be real, that’s where the good drama is. The one after that has Danny confronting Jack, because again, drama.
Here’s where I start having problems. The story has subtly but definitely shifted. Even though the first two scenes were in totally different POVs we seem to be stuck in Danny’s head from now on. The dark headcanon of Jack’s dropped bombshell has segued into straight-up teen angst which everyone (except maybe Maddie) is taking seriously. It’s where things inevitably lead if you let the characters have free reign, but it’s a distinct change in style/tone.
Cause and effect takes over and Maddie dictates the next couple of sections, tempering all the melodrama (but somehow adding to the serious) and ushering everyone into the basement, where Vlad crashes the party.
All the characters have arrived, everything’s in place, all that’s left is a big three-way showdown between the boys (Maddie just throws up her hands at this point). But where to take it?
If I want to circle round to the beginning and make it feel complete, I’ll need to get back to the “Jack is hiding dark secrets because he’s secretly highly observant” theme, in which case it would involve another surprising reveal or a deeper look at his original statement. This could be a pretty somber ending and might involve some explicit AU exposition.
But on the other hand, by the time we get to the basement the story seems to have wandered from the dark headcanon exploration and into a father/son/frienemy relationship drama. In which case it would make more sense to focus on the emotional aspect and try to bring about some sort of catharsis –a more positive ending (probably), but so tonally different from the initial prompt that it doesn’t seem to be the same story.
On the OTHER other hand, this has always been a crack concept because it became a snowballing joke of “how ridiculous can these characters get with a sufficient application of alcohol?” and it would make just as much sense for them to all end up blubbering on each other or ending it in a three-way brawl so HMMMM.
tl;dr: It’s complicated. XD

Cheer Up the Ghost Boy 3 - Vlad’s Mansion
Recap: Sam and Tucker have tried to find a way to cheer up their depressed friend, Danny. But unfortunately, Danny's worst enemy Vlad has returned to try and clone him once again, so that Vlad can have an obedient son (Danny refused to be his son because he's loyal to his biological family. Also, it's because Danny is good and doesn't want to be evil like Vlad). Warning: Torture.
Vlad had Danny in his clutches, holding him by the arm roughly. They were flying high above Amity Park. Vlad snorted at the citizens below him. The citizens were staring up in awe and possibly fear at the vampire-resembling ghost. And since he was holding Danny Phantom like a disobedient son, they began to assume the ghosts were related. "Clone me again, Vlad?" Danny said, staring up defiantly at the older man. "Didn't that fail last time?" "You're right Danny, it did." He said, with a hint of sarcasm. "That was months ago. Since your empty little head can't figure it out, I improved my cloning since we last met. THIS time, it won't fail." "Right... What makes you think the clone will obey you? I didn't agree to be your son. What makes you think he will?" "Oh, he will..." Vlad said mysteriously. Great. Was he going to put it through shock therapy or something? Danny shuddered. The thought of Vlad abusing someone who looked just like him made the teenager uncomfortable. They arrived at Vlad's house. As soon as Danny's feet hit the ground, he pulled hard to try and break free from the man's grasp. He didn't succeed. Vlad, in reaction, pulled him back and sent a wave of shocking pain through him. Danny grit his teeth together. Stopping the shockwave, Vlad leered at the boy condescendingly. Danny panted, toasted and bruised. He'd reverted back to his human form: black hair, blue eyes, white shirt, blue jeans, and red and white shoes. "Now, are you ready?" Danny glared up at him. If he went, Vlad would clone him and put his clone through a lot of pain until it agreed to be his son. If he refused, Vlad would torture him on the spot, weakening him further. Danny decided that if he had any hope of escape, he needed at much strength as possible. Maybe he would be able to save the clone too... "Alright, Vlad." Danny said emotionlessly. They walked down the steps of Vlad's mansion into the basement. Vlad didn't waste time and asked Danny politely to get into the cloning machine. He attached the metal cuffs to the boy's arms and legs. Danny kept his breaths even. He knew that he should keep calm, thus saving all of his energy for the escape. Vlad turned on the machine, a familiar buzz showing that the machine was warming up. Danny felt his feet get hot. The hot feeling spread throughout his entire body. It burned him. He cried out in pain. Danny struggled in his cuffs. He resisted. It was too much. He felt tears pool in his eyes, tears which never got to flow down his cheeks, as they evaporated from the heat. The teen felt his whole body shudder. Over the pulsing of the electricity, Danny heard his nemesis cry out. "Are you ready to give in yet?!" Danny grit his teeth together harder. He pulled at the shackles that held his wrists. "GRR! NEVER!" Danny shouted. Vlad looked back in shock before his face hardened in anger. He turned the dial of the machine to a higher setting. Danny cried out louder and higher in pitch. His unsurfaced tears flowed more intensely. He thought he couldn't bear it any longer. Then he blacked out. When Danny regained consciousness, he was face to face with creepy blue eyes. He recoiled, half from disgust, half from fear. "Is it over?" Danny managed in a weak voice. Vlad chuckled. "You are surprisingly strong, Daniel. I was not able to successfully clone you. Perhaps next time..." Vlad turned and began to walk out of the dungeon/basement. Danny's eyes widened significantly. "Wait! You can't just leave me here!" Vlad looked back, with an expression of resentment and cruelty. Danny's stomach sank. "...Please." Vlad turned around. He was testing to see if the child was pulling a trick or was serious. He walked up close to the boy. He cupped his face with one hand so that he could see his expression clearly. "Please... I-I'm a-afraid..." This wasn't happening. Why was he doing this? You're stronger than this, Fenton. Stronger. You... you don't need to... "Afraid...?" Vlad said mockingly. Though he was curious. He stood a while in silence, pondering. "Afraid of what?" Danny felt hot tears flow down his cheeks. He choked on a sob. Stronger, Fenton! He reprimanded himself. Vlad started to guess. "Afraid of the dark...? Of being alone?" Danny nodded, not being able to speak. "You don't have to be alone," Vlad said. "If you agree to be my son. We could be a family..." Danny felt a surge of anger. The last time Vlad had given that speech to him, he'd threatened to murder Danny's father and planned on marrying Maddie, Danny's mother. Not to mention, he'd hit Danny when he couldn't defend himself. Stay strong, Fenton. Stay strong... His inner monologue spoke to him. Danny shook his head. "I... can't." He closed his eyes, instinctively drawing back, preparing to be hit or shocked with more electricity. Vlad studied the boy. He didn't move to hit him. Instead he waited for Danny to open his eyes, and smiled. "Such courage... I admire that." Vlad admitted. Danny, taken by surprise, and confused, waited for the half-ghost to make his next move. It was like a game. It was always like a game when it came to Vlad. "Tell you what, dear boy. Instead of zapping you with electricity this time, I will try a different approach." Vlad picked up an object on a table next to the machine. ... Meanwhile, in Amity Park, Sam and Tucker were looking for a way to get to their friend Danny ASAP. They almost ran down Dash as he'd finished getting ice cream for himself. "Hey, watch it, losers!" he said. He hadn't dropped his ice cream, luckily for him. The ice cream vendor (who was a ghost) looked down upon the teens in wonder. He felt slightly sorry for the goth and the techno geek. Dash got up and walked away, huffing with pride. The ice cream ghost looked down upon the teens, whom he'd sold ice cream to not so long ago. "Excuse me," he said softly. "But do you two need help? You look worried about something." Sam and Tucker looked at one another, then back at the ghost. "He took our friend, Danny!" They cried in unison. "Who did?" "The mayor of Amity park! He changed into his ghost form and-" Sam said. "Wait! The mayor's half-ghost?" the ghost said. "Yeah!" Tucker continued. "And he kidnapped our friend, who's also half-ghost!" "Well what are we waiting for?!" the ice cream ghost said. "We need to go save him!" Sam and Tucker smiled, glad that this ghost was on their side. ... Vlad picked up the object on the table and held it in the clear light. A scalpel. At seeing the small knife, Danny's body started to panic. He didn't make a sound. He simply stared at Vlad with the evil instrument in his hand as he made his way towards Danny's stomach. Danny sucked his stomach in as far as it would go. Vlad was cloning him no matter what and he was going to get his DNA even if it meant slicing him open. Oh no. NO! Danny shuddered. He closed his eyes and tried to even his breath. He would be strong. He wouldn't let out a single scream of pain. He could do this! He could... Let's show him what you're made of, Fenton! ... The ghost picked up Sam and Tucker in his arms and they flew off towards the mayor's house. Sam and Tucker gave him directions as best they could. When they were headed on a straight path, they discussed what they'd been doing that day with the ghost. Sam broke the mood when she mumbled, "I sure hope Danny's alright." Tucker's face fell and he nodded solemnly. "I hope so too, Sam." To ease their worried thoughts, Sam and Tucker played 'thumb war' with each other during the rest of their flight. ... To Danny's surprise - and relief - Vlad had lied. He wasn't going to slice Danny open after all. It was just like Vlad to fake him out like that. Vlad had put down the scalpel while Danny had his eyes closed. He relaxed. The cloning machine hummed and took a few cell samples from Danny's fingertips. "Hey!" Danny cried out. His enemy chuckled. Danny's eyebrows knitted together. "It seems," Vlad said. "That what my cloning needed was for your muscles to loosen, not tighten. In order to have a perfect clone, I needed to get you to ease up, not resist..." He chuckled again. "Silly ol' me..." Danny fought in his restraints. "You haven't heard the end of this." He tightened his muscles again, refusing the machine to sample any more of him. ... Sam and Tucker arrived at Vlad's mansion with their ghost friend. He turned intangible and held them so that they too would become intangible. He then floated through a wall of the mansion. Sam and Tucker looked for clues about Danny's whereabouts. They were about to speak to one another, when they heard a cry from the dungeon/basement. In unison, they both cried, "Danny!" They quickly rushed downstairs. They arrived at the basement to see Danny pulling and fighting against the machine. He was weakening. The cloning machine was warming up and glowing an eerie pink. Danny was sweating and fighting; more than he had to, it appeared. They didn't bother to question why. "Ahem, Vlad!" Sam announced. "We're here to rescue Danny!" "Yeah!" Tucker said, holding a ghost thermos. "Ahh, wonderful, you're all here to see the new clone I am about to create!" Their eyes became curious for a second. It was all the time Vlad needed. With Danny's weakened muscles, he pulled a switch, which quickly scanned the boy. Suddenly, everything was over. The metal shackles around Danny's wrists and ankles opened by themselves. Danny fell out of the machine, gasping for air. Sam and Tucker ran over to him, helping him up. They hugged him tight. Danny's muscles objected. He pushed them away. "S-sorry guys," he breathed. "Been under a lot of stress recently." "Hey, dude, it's okay, we understand." Tucker said. "Yeah, Danny. You were just in Vlad's torture chamber. You don't want physical contact." Sam nodded. Relieved his friends understood, Danny looked for the aforementioned villain, fearfully. Luckily, he was currently being distracted by the ice cream ghost. Danny breathed a sigh of relief and then crawled on the floor around to an exit. Suddenly, the capsule next to him opened, and Danny froze. Busted. Out came a clone that looked just like him, except this clone was in ghost mode. Beautiful green eyes shone back at him. "Hey there." Danny grinned, and waved to the clone shyly. "I'm Danny." The clone looked back at him wordlessly, curious. "And you're also Danny. You're my clone." He looked around the room nervously. "Listen, I'd explain more to you, but we've got to get out of here, fast." Danny smiled at the clone. His clone. He got closer, and hugged the other being. "Come on." He whispered. "I don't want Vlad to see you, and hurt you." ... Danny, Sam, Tucker and the clone crawled on the floor to the way to the stairs and then bolted up the stairs quickly. Halfway up, Danny remembered he had ghost powers. He transformed into a ghost and scooped his friends into his arms. As he did so, his legs turned into a ghost tail and he flew up the stairs the rest of the way. "You can do that too," Danny whispered to his clone warmly. The clone looked up at Danny, and grinned. When they flew out of Vlad's mansion, Danny wondered about the ice cream ghost. "Don't worry, he's a friend. And he helped rescue you." Sam said. "Sure hope he can handle Vlad..." "Trust me, no one can resist ice cream," Tucker said. "...I hope." Danny and friends looked back at the mansion. But they knew they couldn't wait around. Once the ghost was done distracting, they were as good as toast. Danny, with his ghost tail and his arms around his friends/clone, he took off into the air. A few seconds later, the ice cream ghost caught up with them. Danny smiled, silently signalling he was glad the ghost was okay. "Are we going to be okay?" Danny wondered. "245 calories? That guy will be grounded for a while..." the ice cream ghost nodded. "You put something special in that ice cream?" Sam raised an eyebrow. "Nope," the ghost answered. "It's just a property of this brand of ghost ice cream. It's delicious, but it grounds you so you can't fly anywhere." "Ah." "Then I guess it's a good thing Dash tripped me!" Danny remembered when he had his ice cream and the bully had rudely made him fall on the ground. The ice cream had splattered all over his shirt. If he'd eaten it, he probably wouldn't have been able to fly right now! Danny looked at the ghost and at his friends warmly. "Thanks for rescuing me, guys." "Anytime, Danny." His friends smiled. "Anytime." ... Danny sat with his clone on the bed, his friends looking at him curiously. "What are we going to do with him?" Sam asked. "We're going to keep him." Danny said, wrapping his arms protectively around the guy. "He's me, right? I'll never let him fall into the wrong hands!" The clone smiled and hugged Danny back. A twin brother. He'd always wanted a twin brother, and now he had one. "How are you going to explain him to your parents?" Tucker said. "I'll say that...!" Danny cut himself off, and thought about it a little. Could he tell them the truth? Should he lie? How much did the clone know about himself? Did he share all of Danny's memories, or did he need to create new ones? Could he change into Fenton form or was he permanently stuck in ghost form? Could he even talk? "Hey, clone brother." Danny said. His voice was soft yet concerned. "We need to ask you a few questions." ... On the next day at school, Danny walked with his friends. Included, was Danny's clone, Daniel. Daniel seemed to be mute, but he also seemed to recognize Sam and Tucker and got along with them well. He'd been introduced to Jazz, and also to their parents, who seemed to like this Daniel (Danny told them he'd been conceived in a lab accident - not a lie. But he hadn't told them what Vlad had done.) despite the fact that he bore a resemblance to the ghost boy (Danny's ghost half - whose reputation was questionable, even though he'd done only heroic acts. Well, other than that one time he'd stolen stuff when he was under mind control). Daniel had a red and blue plaid backpack, and he was smiling happily. He was so glad people accepted him the way he was! Even Paulina - a girl who didn't seem to like Danny and his other friends - smiled and waved warmly at him. Of course, Daniel would never leave his friends just because the popular kids liked him. He loved them, first and foremost. Daniel noticed Danny's sad mood for the third time that day. He put an arm on the boy's shoulder. Danny looked up. His clone was about to suggest that he knew a way to cheer Danny up, if he would only let him. Unfortunately, he was mute and couldn't speak a word. He gestured to Danny desperately. Unfortunately, Danny, being slow, didn't understand. Finally, Daniel threw his hands up in the air, giving up. "Aw, Danny doesn't know what you're saying?" Sam said. "It's okay. Danny here-" she put a hand on his stomach, to gesture to him. It caused a squeak and a laugh. "Doesn't know sign language." Daniel blinked. He tried out his hand gestures on Sam, seeing if she would understand. She smiled. "A card game? That sounds fun!" Daniel nodded, and beamed. He then smirked mischievously at Danny. He'd noticed his brother's odd reaction to being touched on the stomach. He tried the same thing on Danny. A stifled breath of air. Puzzled, Daniel moved his fingers around. That got a reaction. Danny squealed and pushed his hand away. "Alright: Rule One for people trying to cheer me up from now on!" Danny announced. "Absolutely no, and I mean NO! Tickling!" His friends couldn't help giggle at his reaction. "Glad you all agree." Danny said dryly, though he couldn't help grin too. End.

Vlad considered himself a man of simple pleasures.
If something caught his attention and would make him happy then he went and got it.
Not caring about what other people might think about his choices. If his happiness was on the line what other people had to say was irrelevant. Unless said people were influential enough to affect his future, in which case he had to tread carefully. But he never gave up on what he had put his sights on.
This way of thinking had accompanied him since he was a young lad and It didn’t seem like it was going to change anytime soon. If his experience with Jack and Maddie hadn’t made the trick he didn’t know what possibly could.
At the time, meeting Jack Fenton at the University of Wisconsin had opened the door to new possibilities. The man got so pumped up that he seemed to exude cheer all over the place, it was a sharp contrast to the dull family Vlad had left behind in his search for higher education, for something better than the leftovers they hoped would make him happy.
What Jack brought to the table was new. A field of study no one had ever researched before, not like this, not with proper scientific evidence.
So he had let himself get dragged along. Just to see what it was like. A shot in the dark, so to speak.
It was enough to intrigue him.
To the point that Vlad, who until that point was gunning for a major in business, had upgraded to a double major to include engineering, with a personal-extra-side of whatever the hell he needed to know to make sense of the things Jack kept spouting around like a complete madman.
With the proper knowledge, and even more intrigued, Vlad had come to realize that while Jack seemed like a goofball at first sight, there was some backbone to his theories. That had just sealed the deal.
And then Maddie came along. crashing into them with all the brilliance of a shooting star.
Madeline, who had been the cherry on top. Beautiful, passionate, and headstrong. Well on her way to becoming an amazing engineer with the meanest right hook Vlad had ever seen.
He had become infatuated. It was almost laughable how hard he had hit the ground running with that one.
It went downhill from there with him none the wiser.
They had shared hopes and dreams with Vlad in a way not even his blood family had. Become his best and only friends. And he was sure that with time and careful planning Madeline could become more.
Could anyone blame him for thinking this could be what a true family was like? For thinking that this was it.
They had been his everything, and as such he would have done anything within his power to lay the world before them.
Which made their betrayal hurt deeper.
He had failed to see, as submerged as he was in his little happy bubble and the research, the growing distance between them and him, the sneaking around, the way they had started to look at each other. The distraction that had lead to mistakes
Irreversible mistakes.
Ones they hadn’t stuck around for.
He had been a complete mess after that.
He had carried on. Once out of the hospital he has persevered and achieved everything that got on his way, and if he used a little bit of ghostly help that was no one’s business but his. And maybe he would have been happy with that, but there was always that little thorn that seemed to be stuck to his core. He had tried to play the fool. It hadn’t worked. And it wasn’t even his style, to begin with.
So when the opportunity presented itself to try and fix some of what he had lost in the past, he took it.
He had planned to barge in guns blazing. And he did. But he hadn’t been expecting the pair of scrawny teens he had been presented with. Much less for one of them to have been subjected to the same affliction that haunted his days. Just that the brat had it worse because it had been his parents who had half-killed him and not his best friends.
Vlad would find out later about what exactly happened in the Fenton’s basement and laugh bitterly while sipping cognac because that made it even more ironic.
He had thought about it long and hard. And decided to accept the child as his apprentice and honorary son. The kid was in urgent need of some proper training. A pair of meals for him and his sister wouldn’t hurt either — as blind as he had been back then, he was coherent enough to still recognize the mistake that was letting either of his ‘friends’ in the kitchen. — He was deliberately choosing to disregard their parent’s crime in order to help them.
He was amicable like that. Kind, even.
If only the ungrateful little badger cooperated.
jasmine, who had eventually realized what exactly was going on — The man had seen it coming from miles away, the girl was smart and her disaster of a brother kept stumbling around town as if he didn’t have a care in the world. It was distressing to witness. — and not just the surface passive-aggressive way they sniped at each other in public, would help him realize that he had been going all wrong about approaching Daniel.
He had been treating him like he used to treat the boy’s parents
The older Fentons had never treated him seriously, so he always had to find dramatic ways to make them go along with what he wanted. Come to think of it, he had done that with a lot of people…
So, he had unconsciously regressed to his college years. Never a good stage to revive. It had obviously led straight to disaster, and he might or might not have neglected his business in the meantime. Thankfully, Jasmine had taken it upon herself to snap him out of it. Trying to run for mayor in a town in the middle of nowhere. Him. A goddamned Billionaire. What was he even thinking?
Obsessions were a dangerous thing. He would need to be more careful in the future.
To summarize, Jasmine had been, as much as it pained him to accept it, most helpful in their little chats on how to deal with teenagers.
Now, he realized, the desire to keep striving for his beloved Madeline’s hand was putting a dent in his interactions with the little badger, and even his sister would show reluctance if he went a little too far. And if he wanted to educate this childr- child, educate this child properly,   that was not going to help him to accomplish his goals.
He was a businessman. He knew when risks were acceptable. Knew what investments would not be profitable.
There was a reason he had managed to convince the University of Wisconsin to finance their research when there wasn’t any concrete proof of ghosts, a reason he had managed to become a millionaire. Other than sleight of hand. That is.
In the end, the final choice was pretty obvious.
Having his obsession slowly shift targets after meeting the kids had been quite the experience.
Especially because he, self-made billionaire, the man on top of everything, who had fingers in all of the biggest pies out there, The Vlad Masters Himself, had not seen it coming.
-.-.-.-
Vlad would love to say he exhorted the best place to eat out of the boy. But really. Once Vlad said he was paying Daniel was more than happy to shoot for the tastiest and expensive things the siblings normally couldn’t afford. Jasmine was not openly contributing to her brother’s effort to suck him dry of money, but she was not stopping him either.
He didn’t have any proof those two could communicate telepathically but by this point, he felt he didn’t need any. They probably had some sort of silent signals. The sneaky little shits.
The man didn’t mind. Not really. He got the brats all for himself, after all. It was a win-win situation.
“So,” he started with a hum “What happened with the box ghost?” Vlad inquired
The boy glared at him. Vlad smirked. Jasmine was making a great job at feigning deafness while looking completely done with them.
“I dealt with him accordingly.”Danny glowered, stabbing his burger with a fork. The billionaire wasn’t sure if that was meant to make a point or the teen went feral on automatic these days even with his food. “The fuck, Vlad. I thought we were in peace mode.”
“Excuse you, child. I didn’t have anything to do with that. It was just making a simple question.” Which was mostly true, Vlad wouldn’t lower himself to the point of using such an annoying ghost as a lackey. He just liked to poke fun at little badger  “And even if I had, that was before I called a truce. It would have been completely valid.”
Daniel just grumbled, conceding the point, and continued mangling the food on his plate. The little heathen.
Having lost the attention of the boy, he took a sip of his drink and turned to look at the other sibling.
“You convinced them to do your research in ghosts, hm?”
“Not like it was hard.” she was eating at a more sedate pace than her brother, but still a little faster than would be considered appropriate in polite company.  “Thanks to a pair of someones.” she sniffed at them. Danny smiled at her but kept his mouth closed and otherwise occupied with food. Vlad just hummed in quiet approval.
“Good job.” then he frowned. “But also, why?”
“Why what?”
“Not the best place you could have chosen to do that, is it now?”
“Maybe not the most agreeable, no.” She conceded, reaching over to take a napkin. “But it is the best place for my purposes.”
“Why though?” He insisted, hoping for a proper explanation.
“Why not?” she retorted, the picture of innocence taking another bite. Vlad sighed and rolled his eyes, he kept forgetting she could be as bad as her brother sometimes.
“Does it matter, old man? We are going anyway.” Daniel finally joined the conversation again, waving one of his french fries in an extremely judgy manner in Vlad’s direction “I didn’t pull all those strings in the zone for you to come complaining and think we are backing down just because you don’t like it.“
“Oh ho, strings, you say?” Vlad mocked, “Would that have anything to do with the reason why Skulker came to me seeking refuge with his tail between his legs?”
Daniel almost choked on his next bite. Enough that Jasmine started looking worried, most likely about whether or not she would have to use the Heimlich on him. She relaxed when her brother finally sucked some air into his lungs just to immediately start laughing.
“It does have some relation, yes” Jasmine took over for her brother, seeing as he was too busy making an impression of the lion king’s hyenas. It was a good thing they were in the more private part of the restaurant. “We, um, had to get creative.”
Vlad just raised both his eyebrows at her, and with a background of her brother’s cackles, she finally acceded to give in some ground.
“I have a theory, and frankly, it would be faster if I do this in Arkham. For a bunch of reasons I don’t feel comfortable discussing at the moment.” Jasmine offered, “Plus, seeing as Danny is insisting on tagging along and at the moment he can’t really afford to leave Amity for longer than necessary-” Hearing that made Daniel come back from his endless snickering.
“Hey! don’t try to pin this on me. This was all you-!”
After that, a free for all started between the siblings and Vlad stopped listening, feeling honest to the ancients offended. Couldn’t afford to leave longer? Please, Vlad could fix that in a jiffy, they just needed to ask- but nooo, the brats always had to go to the extremes for everything.
Although Vlad had to admit that Jasmine most likely had good reasons — If Daniel had said it, he wouldn’t even contemplate the validity of such a loose statement — for saying it would be faster doing it in Gotham- ugh, he had to stop himself from sneering just at the mention of the place.
He had decided to open a branch office for one of his companies in the damned city and it had been nothing more than a headache in the last years. He had opted to send people over from the other branches to take care of everything rather than hiring people from Gotham to fill the spots available.
After a pair of months of operations, it had become obvious that the place wasn’t working as smoothly as any of his other offices all over the world.
It seemed like his employees didn’t have the spine to deal with the city’s threats properly. And hiring more Gothamites, who were guaranteed to have a spine on behalf of being raised in the place, would just make the mess bigger without him there to supervise.
Which he hadn’t had the time to do.
Come to think of it, the only reason he hadn’t taken it into his own hands was because-
His train of thought stopped right in its tracks, eyes snapping open as he took a long look at the kids in front of him.
They seemed to have stopped discussing at some point, but the teenaged halfa was currently trying to steal some food from the plate of the young lady at his side. His sister, on retaliation, was moving her fork in an exaggerated stab motion to discourage her thieving little brother.
“Oh,” he uttered under his breath, as good as speechless and unable to take his eyes off them.
I didn’t take matters of Gotham into my own hands because of them.
The thought, and the implications that came along with it, struck him so suddenly that they left him startled enough to start laughing without care for present company.
Oh, this was too good!
Daniel was watching him warily. As if Vlad showing any kind of amusement was a sign of danger. Which, considering, was fair enough.
Jasmine just took the opportunity the distraction lent her to keep eating peacefully before her brother got any other funny ideas about food-thievery.
Vlad put his elbow on the table, interlacing his fingers so he could rest his chin on the joined hands, smirking and allowing himself to let out some random chuckles from time to time. Seeing the boy get all ruffled up was fun. Especially when he hadn’t done anything yet.
‘Yet’ being the keyword.
Oh, this was going to work perfectly after all.
-.-.-.-
After eating their fill and doing some more quasi civilized talking they finally got some dessert and the siblings took the opportunity to order some take-out to have for breakfast. It was never a bad thing to secure food beforehand, and Vlad had seemed agreeable enough.
Way too agreeable if you asked Danny. But food was food, and there wouldn’t be no looking at horses’ mouths in this household, no sir.
Vlad said his goodbyes claiming to have urgent business to attend to, and vanished into the night like the dramatic pseudo-vampire-ghost he had always aspired to be.
Why the man had bothered to come all the way to Amity Park if he had work to do was beyond Danny, but good riddance. His random giggles were starting to creep him out.
Once he was sure the fruit loop was not coming back and they were truly alone on the sidewalk, the teen turned around to his sister and found her stifling a yawn on her hand. A quick look at his phone confirmed that it was already pretty late, and having a full stomach always made Jazz get all lethargic on him. He would too, but that was why he consumed coffee religiously, unlike his sister who preferred the occasional vitamin drink.
So he resigned himself to playing pack mule yet again and let her lean on him so they could start their trek back home. A trek that would be slow as fuck, because Jazz kept insisting on using him as a pillow while they walked rather than focusing on using her feet properly.
She was lucky he loved her and had ghost cheat codes to support her weight, otherwise the night would have ended very differently.
Danny huffed and let her snug closer to him.
Now they just needed to sneak into the house without alerting their parents.
Yey.
-.-.-.-
Jazz had to give it to Danny, he was the best cuddle partner she could have asked for in a brother.
Though she could admit that her brother’s temperature could fluctuate wildly sometimes while sleeping because of his ghost-core-thingy or other random ghost power, whichever it was at the time had made it a little awkward for them to share sleeping quarters when one of them needed the comfort.
Luckily, they had found ways to deal with the temperature clashes. In summer it was easier to deal with them because in that season her brother’s often chilly nature was a complete godsend. Winter was trickier but there was nothing a pair of isolation blankets couldn’t manage, and when Danny’s powers decided to be contrary and transform him into a living heater, Jazz was more than happy to take advantage of it.
They had a few space blankets too, Jazz was pretty sure Vlad had gotten those just for Danny, but her brother had been rather tight-lipped about them, even if he clearly loved them.
So here they were, sprawled on the bed with Jazz’s arms firmly around her brother’s waist and half her face buried against his upper chest, rejoicing in the coolness emanating from the spot.
She had been awake for a little while but couldn’t make herself let go of her little bro. After they had sneaked in — after Danny had half-dragged her in — they had ended up crashing in her room. This for two important reasons, first because Danny’s room was still a mess after their parents threw all the equipment they could their way, and second because she had refused to let go of her newly acquired pillow. So her bedroom it was.
Ugh, she would get hungry eventually and would have to go downstairs for their breakfast effectively separating her from the cuddles. Jazz released a little grumble and buried herself deeper into the embrace.
The only up-side was that she would only have to heat their food and not make it from scratch. As long as she managed to avoid their parents and make it back upstairs she could rejoin her brother without interruptions and-
“Good morning, Princess Jasmine! ”
Wha-?
Jazz lifted herself and turned her head towards the voice so fast she immediately regretted it. There went her neck. she winced and raised a hand to carefully massage her nape. It would never work the same way again. At least she could see the source of the unfamiliar voice now and it left her perplexed.
There was a ghost on the window sill.
Why was there a ghost on their windowsill?
As a general rule, most ghosts tended to stay the fuck away from the Fenton house once they got out of the zone, so this development was very strange. Then again, Jazz had never seen this ghost before.
It was a female ghost, that was clear, and her hair-
Jazz had to blink a few times, completely awestruck at the number of colors her brain was trying to process at the same time.
She really had rainbow hair. What the-?
The apparent twenty-somethings female ghost had her hair done on a perfect half-up ponytail and displaying all the colors in the visible spectrum, she was clad in a cute summer dress that seemed to be patched up with- were those postage stamps? and a pair of lace-up sandals. She sat with one leg crossed over the other, a giddy smile stamped on her face. She was glowing. literally.
Meanwhile, Jazz had not bothered to change clothes before going to sleep or even tied her hair up into a bun, and now it looked like she had gotten trapped in one of her parent’s ghost traps. She managed to stifle the urgent need of running to the nearest mirror to tame down her hair as much as she could. She was feeling tacky all of a sudden.
Ugh. She felt like a hobo just looking at her. she had patches on her dress and she was still pulling it off. Maybe that was the ghost’s thing? making other girls felt like vagabonds with just her presence. Jazz blinked a pair of times, brain finally processing the other girl’s words, and becoming even more baffled by the living — animated? embodiment? — rainbow’s presence.
Had she just called her ‘princess’?
“Um, hi?” Jazz finally greeted her, she sent a look to her still slumbering brother and debated on whether or not she should wake him. On one hand, he had been running himself ragged the last weeks getting everything in order so she was reluctant to do it. On the other hand, there was a ghost on the window. A rather cute one, but still.
Choices. choices.
The redhead turned her whole attention towards the ghost again. Well, she looks calm enough, and has not set anything on fire or attempted any kidnapping yet, so-
“Sorry, I’m still rebooting. Do I know you?” Jazz went on, trying to get some sort of grip on the situation.
“Not really, but I have heard plenty about you.” the ghost beamed, just to falter suddenly and offer a chagrined smile “I must have seemed very rude.”
“My name is Iris.” She finally presented herself and jabbered on while pointing at the little cloth string bag resting on her hip. “I’m the Infinity Realms’ Official Messenger. And I have a few packages for both of you, my lady.”
“The Zone’s messenger?” Jazz parroted back. She had never heard about a messenger in the zone, but it was a rather big place and there were things even Danny hadn’t heard about, so it was a possibility.  “And just Jazz is fine, thank you.”
The skittle girl just smiled. “Yes, I made the rounds earlier and there were some packages for the crown prince,” she said, confirming the reason for her presence in the room.
Ok. She could deal with ghosts addressing her brother with titles. And messengers? messengers were fine in her book. She could deal. She got this. Still-
“Danny was in the zone yesterday, though? Why would they wait until now and not just take advantage of his visit?”
“There are some fragile things in here, and your brother seemed to be getting- uh, quite busy yesterday,” she replied, clearly amused. “The senders didn’t want to risk it. So here I am!”
With that declaration, she opened her little bag and started to unload a staggering amount of packages and even some mail into neat little piles. Great, more things to pack. How some of them could get into such a tiny bag was a mystery, but that was probably just ghost zone physics. Or magic. Maybe both.
“Oh, thank you.” Jazz just conceded. It was better to just go along. Iris hummed in acknowledgment, still organizing everything and explaining to Jazz where each pile had come from and some extra information that the messenger had found interesting on her rounds.
She was quite lively for a ghost.
“Pandora in particular was rather twitchy yesterday about not catching your brother for a chat. Did you know she is having a gathering next month?” Iris gushed at her in low whispers, with all the air of a gossipy neighbor that couldn’t separate himself from their windows. “It’s a shame you will not be accompanying them for the festivities.”
“But Isn’t that just for amazons..?” Jazz asked from her seat on the foot of the bed, where she had moved to have a better view of the things the other ghosts had sent to Danny and her.
“Yes.”
“…I think I missed something.”
“Haven’t you heard?”Iris giggled. Getting a pen and notepad out of her bag and starting to write something down, she presumably used that to keep inventory. “You are both part of Pandora’s honorary amazons.”
The redhead’s eyes widened. “She can do that-?”
“I mean she is the Queen of the Amazons on this side of the pond, so-” the messenger replied, tapping her pen against her chin and looking up in thought.
“Wait, does that mean Tucker and Sam are honorary amazons too?” Jazz startled at the sudden sound of her brother’s voice coming from behind her. He was practically on top of her now, still looking half asleep but definitely awake now. She hadn’t even felt him move.
“Good morning, Lord Phantom!” Iris beamed at him from her spot on the ground among the still growing piles. “For what its worth, I think so, yes.”
Danny couldn’t help himself. He started cackling.
“Seriously, Danny?” She pursed her lips at him in disapproval.
“You don’t understand. They are going to flip, Jazz. Pandora can count me in.” He gushed, finally getting a hold of himself.
“She already did. Weren’t you listening to me, My Crown Prince?” Danny sighed.
“I did bubblegums. Sounds amazing.” her brother had already given her a nickname, or many for what she knew, so he probably had met the messenger before this. “So you were talking about some go-away gifts” Jazz sighed and rolled her eyes.
“They are called farewell gifts, Danny” jazz corrected.
“Whatever. It’s almost the same.” he waved his hand dismissively and looked down at what Iris had just laid down. “You got way too many things there. You are almost done or..? “
“Yep! I was actually just making time until you woke up.” She admitted sheepishly, lifting the last package that had come out of the bag and had been all by its lonesome amid the others and passing it along to the halfa. “Your Order is ready, Majesty!”
Jazz watched her brother extend a hand to take the package but his face reflected puzzlement at her words rather than excitement at finally receiving something he ordered.
“Direct from the FarFrozen and the Acropolis, Sir Casper!”
With those words, Danny seemed to snap wide awake, “already?” He didn’t waste any time in seating properly and opening the package. Jazz took the opportunity to peer into it.
“Jewelry?”
Danny jus hummed back in response and started examining the little jewelry box inside
“you ordered jewelry?” Jazz asked again, a little confused because even if his brother didn’t mind using the occasional accessory it was not like him to own them. Her brother —as well as herself — was more of a borrowing person “Ghostzone’s jewelry?”
“Yep.”
“why?”
“why not?” Jazz debated tackling him to the ground and tickling him until he talked, but considering they had company the redhead didn’t know very well yet and thus was not completely comfortable around, forcing Danny to spill the tea would have to wait.
The little shit probably knew it too and was openly smirking at her.
“hey, colorfalls?” Danny called to Iris
“Yes, winter pools?”
“Am I imagining things or this is way more than what I asked for?”
“The crafters outdid themselves, didn’t they? The Pan Queen said it happened because you ‘didn’t specify for shit so you better suck it up, brat.’ The Yeti-man said something too, but it was long and boring, so I forgot~” She ended sheepishly.
“Well, that’s helpful.”
“wouldn’t they have explained it in the letters?” Jazz offered, bringing his attention to the pair of envelopes under the probably-handcrafted box.
Danny grabbed them and grumbled. “Probably. But, ugh, reading.”
Jazz tried to snatch the letters from his hand. Danny dodged her lunge and moved the letters out of her reach.
“Thought you didn’t want to read them.” Jazz sassed.
“That I don’t want to do it, doesn’t mean I won’t do it. There is a difference, carrot cakes.”
“Well, get on with it then, cakesicle.”
They could have continued sniping at each other, as they were fully prepared to do so until Iris talked again.
“I better get going and leave you to it. Places to be, gossip to spread. You understand.” She declared with a playful smile and hopped up from the ground and attached her cloth bag to her hip again. “It was a pleasure to meet you, Miss Jasmine.”
She made her way to the window waving her goodbyes as she went, the siblings waved back a little entranced by the sway of her hair.
Danny looked thoughtful, he seemed unsure for a moment and ended up waiting until the last moment to call after her.
“Hey,” The girl turned around to raise an eyebrow at him in question. Danny smiled at her and pointed a finger towards her little cloth bag.
"Do you think I could get one of those?”
-.-.-.-
“Jazz”
“Yeah?”
“How long was she here for before I woke up?”
“She-” Jazz stopped herself and really thought about it. “I, I don’t actually now? I think she was already sitting on the window sill when I woke up”
Her brother had gone suddenly quiet, watching intently through the window Iris had just left.
“She has a- quite bubbly personality. Good to know there is someone like her around.” She offered, trying to break the tense silence that had enveloped them.
“I once saw her knock-out Walker from a single blow,” Danny replied, finally turning to look at his sister. Jazz’s eyes widened.
“She what?”
“He threatened the network.” Danny deadpanned. “One does not simply threaten the network, Jazz” he stressed, seemingly trying to make the importance of a network she didn’t know anything about very clear to Jazz.
“…That sounds really ominous.”
“She moves around human merchandise in the zone.” Danny explained, “She has- umm, I think you could say she has a thing for humans.”
“…”
“I’m not telling you this to make you wary of her.” Her brother said after the lack of a proper answer, carefully keeping eye contact with her. “Walker was being an ass, he deserved it. Jolly Beans is very helpful around the zone. Has even helped me with a pair of things. A real pal, she is. But-” Danny sighed and ran one of his hands through his hair in exasperation.
“Just- Just don’t mess with her gossip mags ”
-.-.-.-
“Hey, Danny?” She probed, going through one of the ‘care packages’ that had been sent to them, “Do you think the ghosts know humans don’t wear these types of clothing anymore? They are cute, but-”
“I’m going to tell them.”
“Don’t you dare.”

ENDNOTES:
Say hello to Iris, everyone :)
She is one of my agents of chaos. She got the Job 5 minutes ago when she bitch slapped me with her bag and the pOssIbiLItieS.
(Not to be confused with intrepid reporter, Iris West, that might or might not appear here. )

Me, writing about sciency stuff, major and double majors like I know what I’m talking about: seems legit.
-.-.-.-
It’s fucking sad when the reasons you used to love someone end up becoming the same reasons you end up hating them.

I don’t remember if Vlad used Boxy as a lackey? If he did, let’s pretend he didn’t.

-.-.-.-
I just want to let you know that one of the reasons Danny curses like a sailor is because he has a great respect for Pandora and that woman puts sailors to SHAME.

Did the show care about historical accuracy? no. Do I? That’s also a no.

The ghost jewelry will come back later to bite all of us. Be patient.

UPdate on the JJ Ship!
I just imagined Bruce looking at this tiny (but feral) red-head psychologist interning in Arkham and seeing how good she is for Jason and just pulling a Mulan’s Grandma when Jason asks her to have dinner with them, like:
“WoulD YouU like TO sTAy FOREVEr?!?”
And Dick with, like, a banner and streamers behind him, fully supporting the notion.
And-aND! then on the eventual-some-years-in-the-future-engagement party:
Jazz: “Jay? Seems your family invited someone to help us celebrate the engagement.” Jason: “Really? Who?” Jazz *Opening the door that leads to the Mansion’s garden that is currently full to the freakin’ brim and deadpanning*: “Gotham.”
{(And all the fucking league. Let’s be real people-)}
Can u Imagine the wedding? The absolute chaos?? If you think the ghosts aren’t crashing the party or even demanding to hold a ceremony in the zone u are a FOOL.
bECAUSE If DanNo is theIr HighKING, Guess who is their MoTHErFUCkING PRINCESS.
It’s what she deserves.
My god, Jazz would look so pretty in a wedding dress.
I’m crying.
Danny would definitely sob.
Send tissues.
-.-.-.-
Great.
Now I want to write about the wedding and they haven’t even met in here yet.
*wishful sighing*
The struggles of a shipper-
-.-.-.-
These goddamned endnotes are getting bigger and bigger.
-.-.-.-
I’m still thinking over Danny’s SO. Guess who. Yes. You are right. It’s the Demon Spawn. You KNOW who I mean. I didn’t make them be a year apart in age just for the giggles. Like, I was aiming for Bros Wreaking Havoc when I started this but then The Shipper Feels struck me dead plus-if-Jazz-is-getting-a-wedding-out-of-this-then-why-the-fuck-not and here we are. What do u think?? Because it’s most likely happening. Though, this one is going to burn slowly, because these boys.
And, wtf. Why didn’t anyone tell me Bruce and Selina almost got married?? I don’t know what happened to prevent it but I cAlL foUl.
Who wants a wedding. I want a wedding.
-.-.-.-
Me: Writes like 40 pages of this fic Also me: They are random scenes in different chapters and I’m still struggling to wrangle everyone into some sense of order and coherency.
The first twenty-something chapters already have titles and brief summaries so that’s something?? I can’t see the light at the end of this tunnel.
If you have ideas about things you would like to read about? Between the Bats and the DP Characters? Interactions and blabla? You can write them in the comments and I will see if I can fit some in :D
I have more or less decided where this is going, but I still need to enrich the chaps, SO, this might take a while. The good thing is that they will probably be way better now that I have Some Plot and I’m not just running blind all over the google doc.
-.-.-.-
Really, tho, if you have some headcanons about the characters? Bless. I need help with Steph and slightly less with Cass.
I have some plans for Cass. Steph is the one worrying me.
-.-.-.-
Chapter 9 will be their arrival to Gotham! I. am. happy.
