spiritfarer is really very cute so far and I only briefly considered crying at the [redacted] section in the [redacted] mines before figuring out how I was using the controls wrong.

(I'm only about halfway through but so far it's like 80% the most chill forgiving slow-paced gently grindy game you can imagine and 20% platforming stuff and mechanics that range from slightly awkward to infuriating. it may be better on controller.)

this is absolutely one of those games that greets you with cute graphics and good vibes and then gently brings up topics that remind you this isn't a kids' game. the less said about bruce & mickey the better, but trust me, I was appalled and delighted.
