WILL SETHOS JOIN THE LOVE HEXAGON??? (heptagon???)

IM SO EXCITED FOR A NEW SUMERU BOYYY, honestly missed Sumeru sm, so glad to see my babies again (+ new friend!!! or foe? idk can't wait for Cyno's SQ :ppp)

Ohh, I have been thinking, thinking and thinking about this matter ever since he was introduced. But I waited till Cyno's story quest to reach a conclusion.

Based on my observation, Sethos is well-spoken, quite charismatic and even though he may appear to be suspicious at first, he's actually a good person. A very promising leader who's determined to not be bound by the past, but, he's still on the path of understanding himself. There are many things he isn't certain of and I'm sure there are insecurities that plague him because of the divergence between him and Cyno. He does have the potential to be part of this chaos as a love interest, but I'm more interested in introducing himself as a red-herring.

We do know that Sethos visited the tavern within Sumeru city and stayed for a while. In this case, him meeting you and having a casual conversation isn't that difficult. Perhaps you noticed that beneath the easy-going veneer, he's inherently troubled. Sethos will not share everything about his life on the first chat, yes, but he does seem like the perceptive kind. So, just you asking him would linger in his mind.

Now the problem starts with Wanderer noticing this transaction and if he was still thinking from the perspective of the past, he would've just ignored this. But seeing as how things with Kaveh turned out, he was determined to not have a repeat. So, he threw his fists the moment Sethos ventured out from watchful eyes.

Not the most elegant solution but it appealed to him the most at that moment. Unfortunately, as Sethos is in possession of one of the Ba Fragments, he managed to put up quite the fight and also discovered that the sweet-child behavior Wanderer dons in front of you is a facade. Wanderer wasn't panicked though, you don't even believe Cyno's accusations against him, Sethos convincing you is a far away dream.

Speaking of Cyno, Cyrus's case had to be the talk of the Akademiya by then, which our dear Wanderer caught on to. Luck does shine upon everyone and it didn't take long for Wanderer to devise a new plan. While Alhaitham and Kaveh were figuring the case out by themselves, Wanderer snuck in a picture of Sethos within the act, you, the unfortunate student and Sethos himself caught in one frame. How he got the picture is unimportant. As per Wanderer's expectations, Cyno assumed that the perpetrator of the scheme (Sethos) was planning on harming you as well and he immediately set off towards the desert. Seeds of further conflict successfully sown.

And the rest happened in the same sequence, except Sethos and Cyno's fight might've been more intense. While Wanderer may have made a good move this time, he still left himself bare to another eye. Sethos's arc is far from completion, so the chances of him cooperating with Cyno to expose Wanderer have been raised.

In conclusion, Sethos will not be an immediate love interest but he definitely will work in your interest in the future. The reason why his status is still uncertain is because of his unfinished arc. Hm. Maybe he might just manage to overthrow everyone else and win you in the end? Anything is possible :>

The sumeru love hexagon.... imagine that darling has their own cat that hates everyone except for darling and wanderer👀👀

I'm giggling just imagining the scenes 🤭

It's like Wanderer and your cat share this weird out-of-this-world connection, or at least, they both have a consensus that they cannot allow anyone to lay their dirty hands on their human. Whenever the puppet sees that someone has crossed boundaries (it's his own envy, mostly), all he needs to do is bring your cat to the person's face and his feline partner-in-crime tends to resolve the issue. It's efficient and has very little consequences ✨

Oh, if Kaveh wasn't miserable enough already. As someone who's fond of animals himself, he genuinely wants to befriend your pet. He also recognizes that doing so would make you two even closer, but how can he achieve that when the animal in question hisses if it even sees him in your vicinity? Spends way too much time trying to win over your cat and unintentionally creates the opportunity for others to win you instead.

It's Alhaitham who utilizes the chance. He's already dead last in realizing his affections and the fact that he needs to fight in order to earn yours. He isn't going to let go of any opening now, however miniscule it might be. As for his opinions on your cat and its passionate distaste for your suitors... well, in the end, it's still just an animal. He doesn't consider it his competition, neither something that he absolutely has to earn the approval of.

If stares could kill, both Cyno and your cat would be dead and one with the soil by now. Intense glaring competitions occur whenever they're in the same room, neither willing to back down. It's silly, maybe a little funny — who are you kidding, it's absolutely hilarious seeing the General Mahamatra at a serious stare down with a cat of all beings. Cyno would never raise a hand against it (because let's be honest, he could kill it without much effort) but your pet certainly has gotten handsy a few times. You always end up tending to the scratches anyway, so, who's winning now, huh?

Tighnari is a little irritated at first, but maintains distance from it for everyone's peace. He's most likely to tame your cat, given his expertise with these kinds of things. But hear out this little side tangent of mine : Reader who owns a pet bunny who hates Tighnari. It's angelic and sweet demeanor with others taking a drastic shift once it senses the presence of the fox. You know the drill, archaic nemeses.

SUMERU LOVE HEXAGON THOUGHT: what If the boys found the reader singing? How would they react when they hear readers angelic voice??

As you might've already predicted, Wanderer has had that privilege more than anyone due to proximity. In the early days of you taking him under your care, you hummed and lulled him back to sleep after another night of nightmares. Your approach surprised him significantly, as his own creator had been perplexed by a puppet displaying emotions. But not that he minded, in fact, it'd only made him cling harder. He knows you have a habit of singing while cooking or any time you daydream. His favorite are the Inazuman tunes you learned through your travels, the sentiments they bring him now are admittedly angst ; but when through your voice, it's somewhat peaceful... nostalgic he daresay.

You'd thought Alhaitham wasn't listening because of his headphones and the accompanying book, the tavern was empty for once and the day had been nice. You'd almost pranced around singing to your heart's content that night and the Scribe had never listened more attentively in his life. Under the pretense of your own assumption, Alhaitham has heard you sing more than once. He thought about mentioning it one time as well, but refrained when he noticed why you sang. Alhaitham knows how to appreciate good music and he has no problem doing so silently. Yes, it's just well-natured appreciation even if he keeps a recorded version as supplement for the live.

There was once a time where Collei fell ill and you offered to take care of her while Tighnari attended to an emergency in the Avidya Forest. When he returned, he found Collei peacefully asleep with you by her side, humming a foreign tune. His original intention was to watch from the corner, but his sensitive ears and tail quickly gave him away. It seemed that he was more embarrassed at the prospect of getting caught eavesdropping, after all, he wouldn't want you to think of him as some sort of a weirdo. But thankfully, you didn't linger on the topic. He almost wanted to thank Collei for creating that opportunity but for that instance, he'd settled for complimenting your voice. One day, maybe one day, he'll gather the courage to ask you to sing for him.

The times a warrior truly feels at peace are few and far between, especially for one as uncompromising as Cyno. There are only a handful of things the General Mahamatra indulges in, your presence settling itself on that list day by day. While Cyno is relatively nonchalant towards the arts, even he can tell when something is truly remarkable. And when such an occurrence presents itself, he finds no reason to not let his appreciation be known. His blunt ‘you should sing more’ appeared to have flustered you to a degree he hadn't expected though. He remains firm in his stance, not understanding why you quickly fled the scene. As much as he doesn't get the reasoning behind your behavior, this chain of events only make him vow to himself that you'd never stop singing.

With each passing day, Kaveh wonders if you could be any less perfect. Just when he thinks he's seen it all or has gotten a grasp of the enigma that is you, you just throw the most delightful surprises his way. Kaveh knows of and appreciates your appreciation of the arts. But even the simplest practices seem to be amplified in their charm when done by you, cliché, but he couldn't care less. When intoxication occurs to the Architect, he usually feels more confident. But before you, even wine loses its lustre. With each new discovery, half of Kaveh falls even further and the other half curls in itself from insecurity. He doesn't deserve you, the Architect tells himself. Yet he cannot bring himself to let go, or stay away as your voice rings through his ears. You're perfect, to Kaveh at the very least but he couldn't help but dream how much more perfect it'd be if you sang only for him.

YESHHH I LOVE GIVING PEOPLE FEEDBACK IN THEIR WORKS.

Oooo speaking of which, scaras infatuation with the hexagon darling felt very interesting and unique to me. Usually in yan scara works hes less of a trailing puppy in image (save for the kabukimono ones). Its really interesting youre getting that softness (even if its fabricated) from the wanderer himself. I cant help but also ask, how would you describe his relationship with the reader internally? Did he resent them for softening him initially? What does he see in them? Bdskbsdkdbdkdhddj i love how everyones attraction to the reader has their own flavour. Haitham's being more intellectually driven and superficial since I doubt his relationship with his own feelings are too nuanced, let alone his relationship with people. Kaveh is seeking out that warmth of being understood and still properly loved I assume. Cyno is more playful, and quality time focused. I'm unsure what tighnari's attraction came from but there's some possibilities floating in my mind too, all of them are too speculative to say though :.3

Hmmmm, imagine all the storms capable of happening throughout Teyvat in the duration of a day and call it Scaramouche's feelings, not for you but, at least that's what it felt for him after he got back his memories. It's hinted that Scaramouche and Reader might've had "history" together in the previous "timeline". Since Reader used to travel, it's not unlikely for them to have met the enigmatic Harbinger somewhere. Perhaps they had a conversation on humanity, perhaps Reader strongly opposed to some of Scaramouche's beliefs, perhaps they understood him to a degree — whatever it was, it left an impression on the puppet and perchance that impression developed into something more, would it be too far to speculate that one of the reasons Scaramouche agreed to test divinity in Sumeru (which just so happens to be Reader's homeland) was because he wanted to prove something to them? There are just so many possibilities.

“Wanderer” before regaining his memories and just being taken in by Reader, develops a genuine attachment (Kabukimono Style), only to have it screwed up by his memories. To say he's conflicted is the understatement of understatements, after a lot of thinking and even asking Nahida for advice, he reaches a decision of sorts. Perhaps it's because he feels sincere gratitude to you for treating him so well in his vulnerable state, maybe he feels indebted in some way or, he realizes that the thought of being away from you tastes sour on his artificial tongue.

He begrudgingly returns to the Tavern where he knows you're attending your shift, despite his shadowed expression you still greet him warmly and ask him if he's hungry yet and soon you're quite literally squeezing him from sheer happiness after noticing his anemo vision and he concludes that he doesn't want your affections to change, no, in fact ; he wishes to be smothered in them forever. A moments defenselessness has greed nudge him towards an inescapable pit ; his lips twitching in a smile, eyes no longer reflecting his inner turmoils and the deception has begun.

Now, this might've made Wanderer seem to be the most advantageous in this au, but remember, his innocent behavior to reader is a facade and it's constantly on the verge of crumbling. He's an excellent actor, yes, but old habits die hard. Especially as his feelings shift towards the yandere spectrum, he finds himself getting more and more handsy with people. Plus the other boys are also plotting to expose him — he wouldn't be the slightest bit concerned, had it not been for the fact that in the off-chance he snaps and reveals his true self to you, your trust in him will shatter and he'll no longer have your attention the same way. Remember, it takes a thousands of more lies to cover one.

As for Tighnari, I was thinking if it would be possible for him to plunge into the obsession from him wanting to genuinely help Reader at first. You know, the “I can help (fix) them” but reversed until he's become so entangled that he himself needs help. I noticed that in social situations, Tighnari is more passive so therefore, can he take notice of Reader's discomfort and stress while the other three quarrel? But it's true that he admires them for being able to handle it on their own as well. Still, is it really so terrible to be taken care of? Don't you want someone to look after you in the same way you do to others? And soon, his ancestral tendencies take over, he starts to grow more possessive of your time and resorts to giving you medicine that will weaken you instead and in turn, give him an excuse to keep you with him longer.

I've been thinking...

Since the Sumeru Hexagon Darling has traveled around Teyvat to learn more, that would mean they became acquainted with quite a few people, right?

So how would the boys react if an old friend, let's say Diluc, pays a visits?

I imagine the Darling became friends with Diluc while on their travels. They highly respect Diluc since he's the owner of Mondstadt's winery so he has quite the knowledge in business. We could say he's a mentor of sorts for them.

Not even Wanderer can mess with Diluc if he doesn't want to upset Darling.

Hmmm yes yes. It's funny because, initially when I was brainrotting the au I saw Diluc as a somewhat past love interest to Reader? But since they decided to return home very abruptly, his feelings would be left unrequited. However, in light of the recent event, I'm imagining Diluc as a more mentor/older brother figure (as you said) to Reader instead. In the mentioned scenario, while there is still drama, it's mostly passive-aggressive so, no injuries for anyone to deal with.

It wasn't necessarily easy to get on that ground with him but it was so worth it. Let's say, Mondstadt was the very first nation you decided to travel to. Lacking in both experience and expertise, it's expected that you'd stumbled quite a lot in the beginning. But thanks to a number of kind individuals, you made it through and Diluc just so happens to be at the front of that tier. From the history and ways of brewing wine, to the methods of handling drunkards, Diluc has surprised even himself with the extent of his care towards you.

It's in Diluc's nature to be protective of what he's fond of but it's different from the boys'. He, without a doubt, respects your independence and really just wishes the best. It just so happens that after some pestering, you managed to enter a partnership in the business and hence, his annual visits. The first thought that came to the boys was the same as everytime someone earns more than your politeness : is this a new rival? But they're soon proven wrong, very wrong.

It's almost comical how tame everyone becomes in Diluc's presence, if not for the Winery owner's, then definitely to remain in your good graces. Wanderer is a little less than half salty when he hears all the things Diluc has done for you (what? he could've done those too!) and half calm because he isn't another one of your suitors (good for him). He's pretty chill, for once. Tighnari and Kaveh actually get along with Diluc and he made sure to thoroughly interrogate Kaveh because his feelings are more obvious than everyone else. But, there's some weird tension when it comes to Alhaitham and Cyno. Overall, Diluc's big brother instincts disapprove of everyone but, ultimately, after a deep deep deep sigh, he tells you that, ultimately it's your choice.
