The Memorable Memories of Season 5

RHOM truly is the gift that keeps on giving! They’ve delivered another amazing season while other shows are struggling with giving interesting storylines.

I’ve also made an appreciation post about Lisa Hochstein because what would this season have been like if she was deflecting from her failing marriage?

I can name so many housewives who would’ve kept this part of their lives a secret – and that’s the problem with the franchise right now.

So, while the other shows get a demand to do better, RHOM gets another appreciation! 

Let’s remind ourselves of the unforgettable moments from season 5.

1) It’s not about the mortgages!

Things were off with Lisa immediately this season. She shaded Larsa Pippen’s new apartment building, and Larsa retaliated by accusing Lisa of renting out her house to pay her mortgages. 

It was a petty clapback, but Lisa lost it! She was stuck in a hamster wheel and raging at Larsa. It wasn’t about the mortgages.

2) Date night from hell

It was shocking how much Lenny Hochstein was willing to film this season! 

And he is just the worst. Lisa had planned a romantic date for them, and he complained about it ruining his diet and he was on his phone the whole time! 

And then their nanny had an accident, which showed some uncomfortable dynamic between Lisa and Lenny. He talked to her like she was a child.

3) Lisa shocks the women about her marriage

The more episodes we got this season, the stranger Lisa’s behaviour got. After she had been extremely late to their flight for a girls trip, it seemed like she was at a breaking point. 

She finally told the women about how fucked up her marriage has gotten, and their reactions were everything! 

This was one of the most memorable and iconic moments of 2022 and RHOM!

4) Alexia’s ego was inflated!

While this was a difficult season for Lisa, Alexia Nepola was showing sides of herself that wasn’t so pretty. 

And it was really unfortunate that this was the direction this trip took.

Alexia had been so furious on behalf of Lisa, she was screaming and cursing in Spanish. But it seemed like her ego was inflated this season.

She acted as if she was untouchable. She called Julia Lemigova a prostitute, because she’s Russian… She called herself the star, and accused them all of making up shit to take her down.

Her energy was truly bizarre this season.

5) Kiki’s cheeseburger moment

I just love Kiki Barth! She’s always a good time and she’s actually delivers a lot of great scenes on the show. 

She had a lot of hilarious confessionals this season and I hope they���ll try her out as a fulltime cast member. 

When she brought out her cold Burger King burger during an argument at Adriana de Moura’s music video shoot, it threw me for a loop.

6) Nicole’s shady disinvitation of Larsa!

After Larsa had accused Nicole Martin of sleeping with all the doctors at the hospital, Nicole naturally disinvited her to her engagement party. 

And she did it in the most perfect housewife manner! She sent Larsa a mirror that was engraved with the disinvitation. 

“See yourself uninvited to the party”?! That’s Housewives gold! And by doing that Nicole inserted herself as one of my favorite housewives!

7) Nicole’s epic engagement party!

Nicole was MIA in the beginning of the season, but she rose to become the MVP of the show. 

Her engagement party looked truly epic, and like such a fun party. But the women had to give her shit, even at her party.

Alexia and Marysol Patton were basically defending Larsa, and when Adriana and her date confronted Alexia for accusing her of dating a married man, things didn’t get any better.

8) Embarrassing meeting with the lawyers

Alexia had arranged a meeting with some lawyers to give Lisa legal advice, and it turned into a circus unlike anything we’ve seen on the show so far. 

It was utter chaos!

Adriana wanted an apology from Alexia after accusing her of dating a married man, and Nicole wanted justice after Larsa had accused her of sleeping with every doctor at the hospital. 

Those poor lawyers at that meeting…

9) Lenny blatant hatred for Lisa

If there were any doubt about how Lenny was manipulating and mistreating Lisa, he told on himself this season. 

The way he talked to her and treated her was insane. 

When I first heard that Lenny had filed for a divorce, I had no idea that it would all play out on the show. As I’ve mentioned numerous times before, the women tend to keep that a secret while filming.

10) The OGs are fighting!

While Alexia’s energy was bizarre this season, it was nothing compared to Adriana. She must truly have gone through something this season, as her friends claimed, because she made no sense. 

On their trip to the Bahamas Kiki fell on Adriana’s foot and she claimed that it was broken. 

She wanted the other women to not have fun, feel sorry for her and cuddle her, and when they didn’t, she compared her “injury” to Alexia’s son’s horrific accident. 

While Adriana has tried to apologize to Alexia, Alexia wants nothing to do with her anymore.

These ranks get to work to establish a career in order to be secure enough to start a family. They get to live in family-based housing and get promotions, along with gifts and praise, once they get married and have children. For Gamma Minuses working in brothels, they can get married at this age but have to “delay” starting a family for another three years. That’s when they start to work in “parenthood-friendly” jobs.

PROPHET MUHAMMAD (PBUH)’s BIOGRAPHY : The Prophet Marries Hazrat Zaynab Bint Jahsh .Part1

(The month of Dhulqada in the 5th Year of the Migration)

Hazrat Zaynab bint Jahsh was the daughter of Umayma bint Ab­dul­mut­talib, the aunt of the Prophet. She had married Hazrat Zayd b. Haritha, the adopted child of the Prophet. The Messenger of God himself wanted her to marry Zayd.[ Ibn Sa’d, Tabaqat, Vol. 8, p. 101. ]

Zaynab and her family did not want that marriage but they gave consent to it when the Prophet insisted.[ Ibn Sa’d, ibid, Vol. 8, p. 101; Tirmidhi, Sunan, Vol. 5, p. 354; Ibn Kathir, Tafsir, Vol. 3, p. 491. ]

Zayd Divorces Zaynab

Zayd did not regard his wife Zaynab, who was dignified, equal to him spiritually. This caused lack of harmony in their marriage. As a matter of fact, Zayd went to the Prophet at the end of the first year of their marriage and said to him “O Messenger of God! I want to divorce my wife.”

The Messenger of God said to him, “Live with your wife; do not divorce her! Fear God!” [Ibn Sa’d, ibid, Vol. 8, p. 101; Tirmidhi, Sunan, Vol. 5, p. 354; Ibn Kathir, Tafsir, Vol. 3, p. 491.]

However, Zayd felt through his foresight that Zaynab had a high ethics and that she had a nature that could be a wife of the Prophet. He did not regard himself equal to her in nature to be her husband; therefore, he divorced her.

The Prophet Marries Zaynab upon the Command of God

The Prophet became very sad due to the end of the marriage between Zayd and Zaynab because of “spiritual lack of harmony”. For he had wanted this marriage to take place. It was necessary to do something and to soften Zaynab’s relatives, who got sad due to this divorce.  

The iddah (the period a woman has to wait after divorce) of Zaynab ended. She was 35 years old.

One day, the Messenger of God was sitting together with Aisha and talking to her. Meanwhile, he received some revelation. God Almighty stated the following in the verses He sent down:

“Then when Zaid had dissolved (his marriage) with her, with the necessary (formality), We joined her in marriage to thee: in order that (in future) there may be no difficulty to the Believers in (the matter of) marriage with the wives of their adopted sons, when the latter have dissolved with the necessary (formality) (their marriage) with them: and God’s command must be fulfilled. There can be no difficulty to the Prophet in what God has indicated to him as a duty. It was the practice (approved) of God amongst those of old that have passed away, and the command of God is a decree determined.”[ al-Ahzab, 37-38. ]

When the revelation ended, the Prophet smiled and said, “Who will go and give Zaynab the glad tidings that God married her off to me in the sky?”

As it is clearly understood from the verses, God Almighty ordered the Prophet to marry Zaynab. The Prophet married Zaynab as a result of this order. The statement, “We joined her in marriage to thee” in the verse indicates clearly that it was a heavenly marriage. That is, this marriage took place beyond the traditional and apparent acts and as a result of the decree of qadar; the Messenger of God obeyed the decree of qadar. It has nothing to do with bodily desires.

An Important Reason of This Marriage

The marriage established between the Prophet and Zaynab contains an important aspect of Islamic law and an aspect that interests all believers and is beneficial for them. It is stated in the following part of the verse: “in order that (in future) there may be no difficulty to the Believers in (the matter of) marriage with the wives of their adopted sons”. When a person adopted a child during the Era of Jahiliyya, people called him/her as if he was the real child of that person; and that child had the right to be an inheritor to that person. Naturally, that person could not marry a woman that his child divorced; it was forbidden.

Thus, the Prophet married Zaynab based on the command of God, showing that this belief and custom of the Era of Jahiliyya was wrong. It is stated by the verse that it would not be a sin for believers to do so.

The Gossips of the Munafiqs

When the Prophet married Zaynab, the munafiqs, who were eagerly waiting for opportunities to plot mischief and cause sedition among Muslims, started to talk against it a lot. According to the belief of Jahiliyya, it was haram for a man to marry a woman that his adopted son divorced; thus, they used it as means of gossiping against the Messenger of God, saying, “Muhammad rendered it haram fo a person to marry his son’s wife but he himself married the woman that his son Zayd divorced.”[ Tirmidhi, Sunan, Vol. 5, p. 352. ]The verse that was sent down settled the issue:

“Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Messenger of God, and the Seal of the Prophets: and God has full knowledge of all things.”[ al-Ahzab, 40. ]

Prophets look at and address their ummah like a father due to their duty of prophethood not due to their human personalities. Therefore, it cannot be mentioned that it is inappropriate for them to marry their daughters. The Quran spiritually states the following in order to eliminate the questions that could come to the mind:

“On account of Divine mercy the Prophet has compassion for you, he deals with you in fatherly fashion, and in the name of prophethood you are like his children. But in regard to his human personality he is not your father so that it should be inappropriate for him to take a wife from among you! And if he calls you “Son,” in respect of the rulings of the Shari’a, you cannot be his children!”

The believers who have foresight and prudence will definitely notice, through our explanation, that the people who want to blame this pure and decent marriage, which has many wisdoms and lead to good things, in order to cast a shadow upon the high personality of the Messenger of God, act with bad intentions and deliberately.

The sound of water constantly hitting the cold cobblestone floor was going to drive me mad, yet the cold shackles had me pinned to the wall of a similar stone stopped me from being able to effectively cover my ears to stop the constant noise.
