Seeing the original watercolors is so amazing. I love Chrysopoeia so much and it makes my heart burst a little bit.

It's been an honor to work on the project and I am grateful for any new backer on Kickstarter.

Years ago, I was illustrating “Sur la route de Chrysopée” a wonderful epistolary RPG written by my friend Morgane Reynier ❤️ Here are the two first editions of the game, released in French in 2015, then in Italian in 2020… to announce a great news : the role game is now ready to welcome English speakings players in a third incoming edition ^^ ! I keep thinking I should be using this blog more for my TTRPG stuff, so why not start when I actually have something pretty to show off? On the Way to Chrysopoeia (née Sur la Route de Chrysopée) is an epistolary ttrpg for 2 players written by Morgane Reynier and illustrated by the amazing @marionbulot, as well as a travel journal for enterprising alchemists. You exchange letters (or emails!) under the guise of a Master who cannot travel anymore and their Disciple, out on a journey to complete a world-changing Great Work.

The game encourages you to draw inspiration from real life to enrich your letters, taking pictures, sketching out stuff, or just daydreaming about the interesting places you find in your surroundings. It’s a neat, slow-paced, truly poetic experience and it is dear to my heart in a way I can’t quite explain.

For my upcoming ZineQuest project with NessunDove, we want to bring the game to English-speaking players. It was originally published in France and then in 2020 I had the honor of bringing it into Italian, so being the English translator really feels like closing the circle somehow.

Holy heck I was on a podcast!!!

I sat dawn with Zach Walsh from Scheduled For Launch to discuss the ZineMonth project I'm working on, On the Way to Chrysopoeia, and what it means to translate a game for a foreign audience.

It was an extremely fun time and I'd love to do this again in the future.

And I know I've been kind of obsessing over it but On the Way to Chrysopoeia will be funding until this Sunday, March 12. If you like alchemy, letter-writing, and soft fantasy worlds with beautiful art (kudos to @marionbulot !!!), please do check it out on Kickstarter!
