a bad boy with bad intentions. you know from the moment somebody meets you that they are in for a wild ride. unlike other guys at court you keep your eyes off romantic conquests and instead devote your life to your family’s cause. you want to be a powerful politician. not king, you’d rather stay out of the limelight. but a person with enough power to have whatever monarch is in charge by their heartstrings. the new queen seems to be just the right person for the job, too. if you can get close to her - you might be able to rule all. and what a story that would be!

serena valacari - your cousin is different than you and your family. because of this fact and this fact alone, you do not trust her. someone so wide eyed and gentle faced has to be up to something. although it is kind of badass that she outlasted strigoi - a fate that would have been worse than death mentally if not amazing physically. either way you watch your moves around serena .. if anyone in this family has a good heart it would be her. and good hearts have no place in your world.

seraphine dregan - you wouldn’t ever admit it out loud but you were once in love with seraphine. she was a fragile, innocent flower when you met and you had the most fun converting her into something edgy, more dangerous. the death of her parents hit everyone hard - which is probably why you fell so hard for her. but, emotions were never your thing and in the end your desire for power and to not be weakened by something as silly as love drove you away.

death by strigoi. a sad story and one that has resounded with too many moroi families. the dregan siblings learned this lesson the hard way while they were away at academy. their parents had taken a vacation out of nowhere and had two dhampirs who dozed off on duty. within hours they were gone - no trace of them left behind. now, you pretend they are dead but the truth is nobody really knows. chances are they are out there - living now as strigoi while you stay at home to take care of the family. lucky you are smart and resilient - having to become an orphan as early as you did.

nicholas dregan - you and your elder brother have seen your fair share of pain and it has never gotten any easier to handle. when you were kids - nicholas was your best friend, your protector, and your bully all in one. now, he is distant. always lost to you in a world of adulthood he swears you don’t fully understand. when in reality, for the first few years it was you who carried the family. some old grudges just don’t die.

marcos valacari - your first love, a romanticized version of everything you wanted as a girl. marcos was your first descent into the wild side. the good girl falling for the bad boy - a classic fairytale with only one ending. of course, it ended terribly - so much so that you hate to see him here at court. yet you can’t help but feel like if you could just change him , the two of you could be a forever thing.

you are so different from the rest of your family. and for good reason. you were the one in the news of the court. the one who lived away with your parents when you were younger. they were not the best of people, made the wrong deals with the wrong people. and when the strigoi came for all of you there was nothing at that age that you could do. they kept you for months - somehow never turning you or killing you. they wanted to raise you and send you back as a weapon later. you were rescued at age fifteen by a band of dhampirs and now reside as the princess of your family at court. your life is blessed now and lavish - but you will never forget their haunting red eyes.

marcos valacari - your cousin and you are quite distanced from each other. and not really by your choice but more because of your upbringing. he was raised in the ways of your family and you don’t always agree with the things they say. you would like to cultivate a relationship but sometimes it seems futile.
