Marcel IDIERS “Maurice Gillar, détective”

The “Collection d’Aventures” was a french vintage pulp collection which consisted of novels from different genres: adventure, detective/crime, sport, western, science fiction. Its main author was José Moselli.

Here we have a detective novel written by Marcel Idiers. Idiers remains like a rather enigmatic pulp writer. He used the pen-names Jean Fabien & Sreidi (among others), and spoke english language very well. I suspect him to have simply translated some stories from english to french and signed them with his name. His “Maurice Gillar” has a typical Sexton Blake flavor (but - concerning Idiers - I can’t prove anything, although there is a character in the novel called “Simon dog’s head” that reminds me of some Sexton Blake stuff...)

On the other hand, Idiers was the first husband of “Magali”, a famed french romance-novels author, and it seems that Idiers signed some novels that were in reality written by his wife....

No need to say that I like Marcel Idiers a lot...

Collection “Haut les Mains !”

Aka “Les aventures de l’Inspecteur Lautrec”. Pulp series that had 6 issues in 1946 (2nd quarter). Written by polygraphe Paul Darcy (real name: Paul Salmon). Format 155 x 233 - 18 pages/2columns.

I suspect Paul Darcy (like I do with Henri Musnik and Marcel Idiers) for having sometimes adapted and transposed pre-existing stories from english language. If I have all necessary proofs about Musnik, I have only suspicions concerning Idiers and Darcy.
