#okay i read a transcription of most of the nj video#and my main conclusion is that the girls are highly misinformed / being fed false info bcs no adult figure is looking over them#‘mhj is the producer of our music’ that woman has never produced a single song#‘our demands are not being met’ ur demand is to bring back mhj ? i wonder why it is not being met#even the manager not saying hi thing … saying this with all the empathy to them but i get it#imagine ur team boss tries a coup towards the company and u side with them it’s understandable if other employees don’t feel comfortable#and the legal side too like most employees were probably instructed not to interact with them on company grounds#and again i have all the empathy towards them and understand it’s because they’re victims and so on but this is all just bcs they can’t let#mhj go#like if they weren’t fighting tooth and nail for her everything would be different#and they don’t have adult figures telling them this and protecting them from the situation#they just dont know how working environments / company work and they have no one guiding and helping them throughout all of it#this whole thing is just so heartbreaking and frustrating#and they said they found out about the situation from the media — that again proves that mhj doesn’t actually care because she knew about#all of it but she couldn’t pick up the phone to tell them ?#hybe can get fucked and is evil too but if anything this suggests they wanted to leave the girls out of it at first at least#this is not to say i think hybe was nice just to be clear i think they just didn’t think the girls would care this much since it was a#business/legal dispute concerning the company#it’s like if aespa cared when lsm was kicked out .. they didn’t gaf and that’s what it’s supposed to be like !#the leak thing is so heinous tho like i really don’t understand why someone would leak private records of some young girls#after we’re done with mhj we gotta take care of bpd

I love zoro as a character but I need society to stop pushing the idea he can be anywhere near an authority position. I don’t mind him having conquerer’s haki — his goal is to literally be the best in his field. But I cannot agree with the idea of him as a first mate/vice captain/leader etc. mainly because his stoicism and weird ass machoness that comes out at the oddest times is detrimental to being a leader.
Leadership is not just being commanding or cool. A massive factor in it is your social capacity. Being able to understand where the people under you are coming from, have a sense of what’s up with them mentally/emotionally, and trying to work with them on it or at least take it into account when making a decision. People need to feel like they’re being heard and understood, if they feel like you get where they’re coming from then they’re more likely to accept choices they actively dislike bc they feel respected. Zoro and luffy are both Very Bad at this tho in different directions. Luffy tends to Get people emotionally but really rarely takes the thoughts of others into account when making choices (ex. Agreeing to a Davy back fight b4 even knowing what it was and against like half the crew’s wishes). Zoro however really rarely gets other people, he doesn’t really put himself in other people’s shoes. He just lacks the emotional intelligence that really helps luffy get by and make up for his impulsive choices.
This is a big issue when you want to say he’s a second in command in the crew. A second in command in this context is also the HR department and zoro has big “because I said so” energy which doesn’t fly. I will say he was wrong about how to handle the usopp thing til I’m blue in the face and I avidly don’t like how he talked to chopper in the Davy back fight. He frequently shoots down nami’s more like, sensible emotionally tactful or measured approaches. This is not how you keep a group together in the long run. It’s just not. Zoro is a wonderful character, a great dude and a wonderful friend but he just — he is NOT built to manage a group dynamic or to work with people in that way. He just doesn’t always get why someone is upset about something and this doesn’t take it seriously or he does get it but responds with his own brand of emotional regulation which is just “tough it up and be man” which is just— that’s not helpful.

i feel physically ill whenever i have to defend my opinion
#but i’ll do it#and i’ll do it respectfully#not to toot my own little horn but a few years back i had a month long conversation with a young person who was a few short steps away from#being a full blown terf. like their blog was full of it. but in the few personal posts i saw i could see something i resonated with prior t#my own journey into understanding of gender#and i talked them down from it#i have a sc of their final message to me hold on#it was so cool. i wish it was something i could encourage but i think i was just lucky with who i got. it was so saddeningly easy to disput#every point they brought up#'you were so kind and respectful to me despite being online. thats like super cool of you. thanks for helping me grow as a person. it#honestly feels a lot better to not be so full of hate...' it goes on from there but u get the point.#i do not believe in debate bros. because i dont think you can win in a 'battle' of opinions. but i do heavily believe in emotional labour#being your job as an ally#the person i spoke to left still not believing in my gender identity. but i am more than fine with that. because that was not my aim#i just needed them to see trans women as people. full stop. and i managed that with a few short disputes and the examples of 2 teenage girl#with large online followings#it was very easy#and yes i did feel physically ill for the entire month i did it. you just gotta do it scared

i have an unhinged neighbor who hates me and watches my door for me to take out my trash so she can dig through it and dump whatever she doesn’t approve of back on my doorstep, which last time was accompanied by a threatening note taped to my door, which has given me quite a lot of (i feel) reasonable anxiety regarding taking my trash out? anyway i’ve been letting garbage pile up in my room so i don’t inconvenience my roommates (she doesn’t seem to mind the general apartment waste, it’s mainly my shit she doesn’t like because i’m disabled and throw away a lot of nutritional shake cartons that are made of cardboard but not technically recyclable, and she thinks i’m being “lazy” and that’s somehow her business) and bc lack of spoons, and i keep meaning to bag it all up at once and dump it on the curb late at night right before pickup day, so she doesn’t have time to snoop, but i’ve been having a bunch of bad days and i keep missing pickup day but!! today i finally bagged up the worst of it and while i can’t take it out until tomorrow night bc pickup was this morning and they won’t come back til wednesday, i feel like a fucking superhero
#personal#counting this as a victory even though the only extra large trash bags i have are scented#so now i’m stuck with a scented bag in my room for the next 2 days so i’m gonna feel like roadkill#but at least there’s not just like. food cartons strewn all over anymore!#go me!#i even separated out a huge bag of recycling so if she sees that maybe she’ll leave me alone#it makes me kind of sad how steeply my capacity for completing tasks has diminished that this is all i’m going to be able to do today#but i’ll take what i can#i did throw a bunch of the non-recyclable cartons into my recycling bag which i know is rude to the sanitation guys#i’m very sorry sanitation guys#but i’m hoping they’ll fine the building so that the next time she accosts me management will have motivation to shut her down#because they don’t care about tenant disputes if they’re not losing money#and no matter how unspeakably rude she is i am absolutely not calling the cops on a clearly unwell woman for any reason whatsoever

If you love Disney, its parks, its media, and its merch, listen up.
So I work for Disneyland, and we are talking about striking very soon. So soon, in fact, that we've been hosting rallies just outside of the parks. Yesterday was the 69th birthday of Disneyland Anaheim... it was also a monumental rally.
I haven't seen anyone on tumblr talking about the impending strikes against Disney. Not even going through the Disney tags or searching tumblr for "Disneyland Strike."
Let's talk about why we're striking:
Cost of living in the immediate SoCal region is nearly 2x as much as we are getting paid.
Cast members that have worked for the company for long periods of time are still paid as mucha s new hires.
Disney has showed up to union negotiations with insulting offers, including at 25 cent raise. Most cast members make $19.90
Disney rarely schedules you. In some areas and departments, you are fighting with your fellow cast members for hours. I have heard of cast members who are only scheduled for 1 4-hour shift per week. Many of those cast members have upwards of an hour commute to and from work.
Disney Admin has told attractions castmembers [so: rides, rollercoasters, and anything fun you get to do and see at the parks] that we are losing them money, which is why they refuse to schedule us and pay us. In the words of my partner, who also works at the parks, Disney without attractions is an over glorified mall and a food court. Disney needs us, and they know it, but they do not respect us.
Disney has an unfair attendance policy. It can be very difficult to get a needed day off, even when it has been requested weeks or months in advance. When you do take a day off [with-out accrued sick or vacation time] it counts against you. You can have 3 a month, 6 in 90 days, 9 in 180 days, or 12 in a year. How do you accrue sick/vacation? Hours worked, which can be impossible with the scheduling practices mentioned above. (Most cast members trade shifts among themselves to get around this.)
Cast members feel unsafe and unsupported in the parks. Many cast members have felt threatened by entitled guests upset that they are following policy. Disney Leads and Managers have to say yes to these guests and make things happen, though. [Which only makes this behavior worse and more dangerous for cast members who are only doing their job.]
Cast members also report feeling threatened, or even being literally threatened, by management in the parks. Especially cast members who have a second job. Especially cast members who know their rights.
Further, cast members work in hazardous conditions with pay that does not reflect that. Many cast members report losses of hearing, sore throats, and severe back and shoulder pain. Cast members are also exposed to infectious diseases at a much higher rate.
