Mae kept getting flak for nothing, MAE IS NOT THE EVIL TWIN
i need people to recognise that while osha was/is emotionally repressed, that doesn't mean she's innately passive in her personality?? passivity is forced upon her by other characters (primarily sol and the jedi) but since she was a kid she expressed a desire for action and adventure - she was the one sneaking out of the fortress to the bunta tree, desiring her own life outside of the coven and her relationship with mae, drawn to the jedi and their lightsabers, and even when she leaves the jedi order, she doesn't exactly settle down somewhere quiet but goes to the other end of the galaxy and takes up a dangerous mechanic job that's only legal for droids to do while hopping from ship to ship and getting tattoos on drunk nights out with her crew? even in episode five with yord trying to haul her back to the ship, she doesn't exactly go completely willing (sol has to force push her into yord!) and is then the one that convinces yord to go back (💀), and she also immediately latches onto the idea of rejoining the jedi when she thinks sol is offering that at the beginning of episode four, and once she does know the truth, she instinctively force choked sol and bled his lightsaber (even anakin needed more convincing/encouragement to go dark side than she did)
mae comes across are more active/aggressive because she's more emotionally open/driven and has the truth that osha does not (that sol killed their mother) so is therefore incredibly motivated by that truth and desire for revenge/justice - but she's also the one that was comfortable and content with her life in the coven, that seemed to only need osha in her life, that didn't like osha sneaking out of the fortress, that seemed to flourish under the coven's teachings whereas osha chafed against it, doesn't actually seem to like conflict all that much considering how quickly she's willing to give herself up to the jedi once she knows osha is alive and then when she seems content for sol's punishment to be facing the high council/the republic, she seems surprised when she succeeds in killing indara and then doesn't kill the shopkeep alien even though that'd likely (and does) make things harder for her, offers torbin the option of going to the council or taking the poison, and doesn't even kill kelnecca or sol, and generally is clearly not all that committed to the dark side/sith stuff qimir's trying to teach her and spends episode five running from him/pleading for her life over trying to fight him (in comparison osha manages to (temporarily) defeat him by siccing giant bat moths on him)
they're both more complicated than they might appear on the surface!!

When Esther is laying out her plans to Mick re: revenge plan B in episode 7, she calls Charles “the smiley one”. I’m pretty sure Charles is never smiley when he interacts with her. I’m imagining that this is what Monty calls him and she just uses his nickname.

Land of the Lost AU
Being the only survivor of an expedition, Mae Rodman finds herself trapped in a mysterious place that is inhabited by a variety of dangerous and prehistoric creatures. On the run from carnivorous dinosaurs and other predators, Mae is saved by Noa, an evolved and sentient primate, who decides to help her search for other survivors of the expedition and find a way home.
On their journey they grow closer together and stumble upon the opportunistic castaway Trevathan, who's been stranded in the "Land of the Lost", as he calls the place, for several years with no hope of leaving. He betrays them to Proximus, the ruthless monarch of an archaic clan of apes residing in the ruins of an ancient civilisation.
When Proximus wants to sacrifice Mae to appease the aggressive humanoid lizard creatures called Sleestak living beneath the ruins, she and Noa manage to escape during a volcanic eruption and start a new life together.

Ladies I’m an Anakin Skywalker girl. I’ve watched my man murder, torture, force choke and commit about a dozen different war crimes.
It will take more than Sol mistakenly murdering a dark force user that he thought was about to injure a child for me to flip on him.

I am so happy with how this week’s episode went down.
I’ve been so worried that the point of the show was just going to end up being: Sometimes the Jedi are the Bad Guys and maybe the villains have a point! or The witches were Evil and Deserved to be killed!!
Because those would be such boring stories to tell.
We all know the jedi have flaws and that they make mistakes. We don’t need a show to use that as some dramatic reveal. I wouldn’t enjoy star wars as a franchise if the jedi were perfect.
The idea of their innate goodness being exploited and manipulated and used against them has always been really interesting to me. I’ve always believed the jedi as a whole are good and that the problems come from individuals.
That could mean individual jedi who struggle with what being a jedi requires. (Anakin and Sol with their clear struggles with attachment) Jedi who have experienced certain trauma that inevitably affects their decisions. (Anakin, Barriss, Reva, and so many more) Or those who shouldn’t’ve been jedi in the first place (pong krell🤬)
It also means basically anyone else who believes and/or has gone through similar things. (the martez sisters blaming the jedi for their parent’s death, the people of the republic who believed the jedi were responsible for the war etc.)
And of course there are the actual villains who intentionally cause problems.
These things are all unavoidable and thats what makes star wars so compelling to me. The fall of the jedi was the result of Palpatine amplifying these factors to bring forth something that was always going to happen and that nobody could stop.
On the other side, I am so relieved that the witches weren’t revealed as the true villains or something because that would’ve also been so boring, and also kinda dumb.
Introducing this beautiful group of women with their own unique history, culture, and way of using the force…only to turn around and be like
Ha ha nope! The jedi are the only good guys and everyone else is evil!
Yeah I would’ve hated that.
I feel like this episode did a really good job at showing that what happened was a combination of everyone’s fears, biases, and hubris clashing in the worst way imaginable.
Neither the Jedi as a whole, nor the witches were 100% responsible.
The council told the jedi to leave the witches alone but they didn’t listen. The order cannot be blamed only those who were apart of that mission.
You can blame either side for their choices but both sides had their reasons and both sides were neither right nor wrong.
Sol was wrong to prioritize attachment to osha over following orders. But he was right to want what was best for her.
Torbin was wrong to run back and infiltrate their home. But he was made to believe it would mean completing his mission.
Mae was wrong to lock the place down and start a fire. But she just wanted her sister to stay.
Koril was wrong to go straight to violence. But she wanted to keep her children, and her past has led her not to trust.
I could go on and on but I’m getting too lazy to type more.
Basically what I’m saying is I am happy that the show didn’t chose to be fully anti jedi.
And I am happy that the show didn’t introduce a badass GORGEOUS black lesbian witch as the ruler of this coven only to make her a villain for loving her children

Mae has a mimikyu!
A lonely Pokémon that tries to look like someone else to get others to like it, as it’s true from is said to unknown and cases illness and death and does anything it can to ensure no one sees it’s real appearance at all costs.
So what if….Mae’s trying to be someone else? In terms of appearances that is. Does Mae have a more monstrous form she prefers others not see her in in favor of a more friendly, smaller form to get people to like her or not scare anyone?
Mae feels compassion for those that she senses are also hiding who they are... She's been there <:'o) She's still there...
