🧠 ☀️ 🌙 for Dorothy ~ rebeccaselfships
As a personal challenge, since Dorothy is one of my ST s/is, one song from any era, and as a bonus challenge, one from the 80s or before. ( basically, my input, and then something she could have very well listened to )
Featuring my wacky and all over the place music taste.
🧠 What song describes your characters personality? for the 80s song, Bad Reputation, Joan Jett. Dottie has gotten to a point where she's realized people will think she's weird for any reason in the book, but sometimes it's fun to be the weird one. I don't give a damn 'bout my reputation I've never been afraid of any deviation An' I don't really care if you think I'm strange I ain't gonna change
A modern-ish song, Girl in a Country Song, Maddie & Tae. It's got that same I'm not here for you, I'm here for me punch behind it that has become her driving motivation her senior year in Hawkins. Like all we're good for is lookin' good for You and your friends on the weekend, nothin' more We used to get a little respect Now we're lucky if we even get To climb up in your truck, keep our mouth shut and ride along
☀️ What song fits your character when they're in a great mood? 80s : Mr. Blue Sky, Electric Light Orchestra In a good mood, she's a ray of sunshine. All smiles and corny jokes and fits of giggles. The sun is shining in the sky There ain't a cloud in sight It's stopped raining Everybody's in the play And don't you know, it's a beautiful new day
Modern : Put Your Records On, Corinne Bailey Rae. Good vibes only kind of song, this would be at the top of her good mood playlist. Girl, put your records on, tell me your favorite song You go ahead, let your hair down Sapphire and faded jeans I hope you get your dreams Just go ahead, let your hair down
🌙 Random song that fits a scene from your story
Okay, so there's a scene im trying to plot, one of my versions of how Eddie comes back, and it involves some musical shenanigans. There's two songs in mind, and they're both 80s and before. I'll let myself break the rule on this one. The first song, which I blame tiktok for, is Eddie My Love by The Chordettes. The second is Don't You by Simple Minds, and they both fit into the scene of a sad Dottie who thinks her boyfriend is gone, but in reality he is very much not gone, sitting outside her window and playing with her music to mess with her a little before he reveals he isn't dead after all.
Thanks for the ask!!!
