Starting watching* The 100 with 4×10 sure is interesting. I have no clue who half these people are or what are the relationships between them. But anyway, here are some hightlights:
-I literally only tried this show for Octavia and God, I love her! She has all the makings of a blorbo. Every single moment she was onscreen I was fascinated. Unsurprisingly, the dynamics that most interest me all are centered around her.
-Octavia-Bellamy thugs at my heartstrings. And yet I still can't help but feel they could have been more. In an alternate universe where the show started with O as the protagonist, Bellamy would be a whole other character. I have a feeling he would be more like comics!Batman, a controlling asshole whose entire world centered around his sister and his ~presence would feel smothering everytime he was onscreen.
-No clue who Ilian was and what was his deal, but I was getting Peeta vibes from him LOL
-Octavia-Indra-Gaia! I hope this is a dynamic that is/has been brought up and delved into in other episode cause the potential is there. (When Gaia realizes their clan is doomed and goes to cry on her mom's shoulder, only for Indra to later be like 'Octavia is doing well.' Oh she knew very well what she was doing. I'm convinced Indra had zero faith in her clan's champion so she took advantage of Octavia's already shaky loyalty to make sure they'll survive.)
-How could Luna have THAT backstory and yet she has no interaction with Bellamy nor is Bellamy-Octavia brought up vis a vis her? Wasted potential smh. In another world, she would be O's dark mirror who'll probably haunt her past her death.
-I'm shipping Linctavia and 1. K know they have already been doomed by the narrative and 2. I haven't even properly seen them interact.
-Is...is Kane Octavia's father? (It would make so much sense since they named him Marcus: a Roman name to fit right in with Octavia and Aurora) Or father figure or something? I'm so confused by their interactions.
-Everyone else: if you didn't interact with Octavia, you don't exist for me.
*I'll finish s4 but I don't know if I'll properly watch the show afterwards. I'm here for Octavia and Octavia only and idk if it's worth it.

Arkhelios Adventures
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Young mortal! I have accepted your offering for my dominion. Be wary, for much danger lies in this realm. All-oh, Mr. Darktide! It's you again."
Tumblr media
Adam nodded, pointing his glowing ring towards the deity of dreams, Luna, formerly of Crystal Cove.
"Theo dragged me here once, so I thought that I'd return the favour," he explained. "This crystal ties us together. With your permission, I'd like to summon him to this realm and speak with him."
Tumblr media
"An interesting request," Luna replied, looking amused. "I'm not usually in the service of star-crossed teens who need a place to meet. My purpose is to govern the realm I've been given, not guide young love."
Tumblr media
"Please," Adam begged, trying to look as sad as he possibly could. "I've tried everything to find him, but the only safe thing connecting us seems to be your realm. Even with all the wards and protections of wherever he is, everyone has to sleep. It's biology, not magic. I've risked so much to be here and I gave an offering like the book said. I need to see Theo Bellamy, and I'm not taking no for an answer."
Tumblr media
"Such a Darktide," Luna mused. "Always barging in, demanding to be accommodated. I can see your ancestors in your eyes, like entitled phantoms raging in your blood. My father lost his heart to a Darktide, did you know that?"
Adam shook his head quickly. Luna was rambling on about people he'd never met, and he only had a limited amount of time in this realm. Life and Death seemed to know everyone's true names, so he was willing to bet that the deity of dreams did too and might respond better if he invoked them.
"No, I had no idea. I'm not my ancestors, though. I'm not my parents or my deranged uncle. My name is Adam Sebastian Casper Maricourt Darktide and I demand to see Theodosius Ulysses G Bellamy. Please."
"Alright," Luna teased. "Don't work yourself up about it. I was just sharing some of my vast experiences with you. It's lonely in a realm where everyone sleeps sometimes. Everything isn't always about you, you know."
Adam flushed with embarrassment. This was getting him nowhere and the last thing he wanted was to anger a deity. He didn't need that danger added to his already crazy life.
"Sorry, I didn't realize. It's just that...I haven't seen Theo in months now and this might be my only chance. Please, continue to tell me about your father and the Darktides. I will listen if you'll just let me see Theo."
Luna smiled softly.
"You have a good heart, Mr. Darktide," she said. "You're a bit inconsiderate, considering that you're asking me to help you, but your heart is good. I will open the gate to allow your crystal to call for your love, but be sure to tell him that he must also make an offering upon waking. The Old Ways must still be observed."
Tumblr media
"The gate is now open," Luna announced. "I hope that your crystal is strong enough to summon him. Truly. The Ocean is often unfairly rough with your family. Until the next time you cross my path."
Adam's ring began to glow with a blinding light as the deity faded from his vision. It took enormous effort for it to search for the matching crystal in the vast realm of dreams, but Adam wasn't giving up. Not when he'd already come this far.
Pain radiated up his arm, which Adam found intriguing considering that he was asleep at the moment in another realm, likely perfectly fine. It was well within his control to deal with, though, after all he'd practiced.
Demonic magic swirled around Adam and he closed his eyes, trying to follow it back to its source. Following it back to Theo.
Tumblr media
"What the hell is happening? Alys, if this is another one of your tough love lessons, I swear to god I'll-"
"Theo?"
Tumblr media
The crystal on Theo's hand grew even brighter now that it was near its match. It was this reaction that convinced Adam that this was really Theo, that Luna hadn't tricked him.
"Adam, is that you?" Theo blinked and rubbed his eyes, sincerely hoping that this wasn't just an illusion his teachers were tricking him with.
"It's me," Adam confirmed, staring in awe at the culmination of his plans. Everyone had written off talking to Theo while he was gone, but Adam's plan had actually worked! "I've been trying to find you for months now."
"You have? I saw your spell with my ring. I haven't taken it off since."
"It was the only way to access wherever you are," Adam explained. "We're dreaming now. It was the only realm that wouldn't kill us to walk through."
His gaze dropped to the floor. It was overwhelming to see Theo again. So many emotions rushed to his mind, making it difficult to think straight.
His plan had worked. Theo was beside him. Doing magic still sometimes physically hurt. Theo was dangerous. He might always be dangerous in some way, but that smile still made Adam weak in the knees. It was all so much to process.
Tumblr media
"Adam, I'm sorry," Theo began. "I never meant to hurt you. I had no idea how out of control I'd gotten. I'm doing better now, much better. I promise."
Tumblr media
Even though seeing Theo again was everything Adam had been working towards for so long, part of him still held back, afraid to get hurt even more. He didn't want to feel like this. He should have processed all these feelings already and moved on and been fine.
"I know it was an accident," Adam replied quietly. "You would never mean to hurt me as badly as you did. And we should have listened to Evren about being careful about...well, you know."
Tumblr media
"We don't have to do that again," Theo said quickly, equally embarrassed to be talking about how badly their experiments with sex had gone. "We can wait until we're older. Just because everyone else is doing it, doesn't mean...oh, I've gotten ahead of myself."
He paused and gave Adam a tearful look.
"I'm assuming that you want to keep dating me, I'm sorry. 'Being mindful of other people's feelings' is something that I apparently need to work on, according to most of my teachers. I don't blame you if you never want to see me again. I can see the way you're looking at me. As usual, I've completely misread this and you only came here to break up with me. I'm so stupid."
Tumblr media
"Theo, I've had a lot of time to think about what happened and my feelings on it. I don't regret what we did. I could never regret it. I just...it's been really difficult without you. I didn't know how I felt about us or if I wanted us to be together or if I'd changed too much for us to be together at all." He paused, trying to put his feelings into words. "Something bad happened to me, Theo. Something I don't know how to fix."
"You're pregnant!" Theo gasped, making Adam roll his eyes.
"God, Theo, your parents really have made you paranoid. No one's pregnant. I...I just...I'm different."
Theo nodded sympathetically, still unsure if Adam truly wanted him to respond to that statement with facts or to just keep apologizing.
"It's called Toyonaga's Trap," he replied, hoping that he was making the correct choice. "What happened between us. It was a textbook presentation of it. A blood connection that ends in the destruction of the person while the demon funnels their power into themselves. It was named for the Lost Queens of Strangetown, two teens who made a blood deal for power and ended up erased from the universe when the deal collected them. I was so worried that you died because of me and they wouldn't let me even talk to you. I did everything I could to shield you from danger, but I still saw you when the paramedics took you away. I couldn't live with myself if i had caused your death. It would destroy me."
"Theo, I-"
Tumblr media
Before Theo could even register what was happening, Adam wrapped his arms around the hybrid tightly, leaning in to brush his face near Theo's. It wasn't the same feeling as holding Theo in a physical realm, but it was better than nothing. He hugged Theo as tight as he could to reassure his boyfriend.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I didn't die; you protected me. You've always protected me no matter what. It took me a while, but I've made my peace with what happened. I'm not right anymore, but I'm alive."
"There are a handful of people who survived Toyonaga's Trap and they all have different symptoms," Theo stated, like he was remembering the writing in his textbook. "Migraines, joint pain, and some other side effects."
"Well, file this under other," Adam said. "I'd say that I fit there."
Tumblr media
"I can see that," Theo murmured, stroking the scar on Adam's face gently. "You don't know how sorry I am that this happened. This is on your actual body or just your projection here?"
"The scarring is permanent. My mom and dad tried everything they could to heal it, but they couldn't."
"Oh. So every morning you wake up to see the grisly reminder of my lack of control in the mirror. Shit, Adam, I'm so sorry. You must hate me."
Tumblr media
"I could never hate you, Theo," Adam assured his boyfriend. "There were some dark times where I questioned if we were really right for each other, but I could never hate you."
He caught Theo's hand when it was lowered from caressing his face and squeezed it reassuringly.
"I don't blame you," Theo replied earnestly. "I've been thoroughly yelled at by just about every teacher here for triggering a major demonic incident with a partner. Believe me, they've all shouted at me at some point." His face brightened, remembering something important. "But, they do have some comprehensive sex ed classes here that I was strongly recommended. If we ever wanted to be together like that again, once I graduate out of this hell, I should be able to channel our connection properly. But only if you want to. Which you don't have to. I'd understand."
"I'm not sure I want to...be...intimate," Adam confessed, still squeezing Theo's hand reassuringly. "I...I almost died, Theo. I can't just pick up from where we used to be. You've been gone for months and I've tried to put everything behind me. I need to know that you won't let this happen again, and I'm sorry, but I can't trust that you can right now. I need time, probably a lot of time."
Tumblr media
Theo tried his best not to look crushed, but he probably failed.
"So, you want to go back to being friends?" Theo asked quietly, avoiding looking at Adam directly. "You keep avoiding the topic. Are you still interested in being my boyfriend? Do you just not hate me, or do you love me?"
Adam smiled coyly.
"I like like you, Theo. According to your Aunt, that's all I should admit to a guy if his parents are broke."
"And even then," Theo agreed, a huge weight lifting from his chest at these words. "I like like you too. A lot."
"We'll figure this out," Adam promised. "Together. I just need to work through my feelings first." His voice began to waver despite the incredible efforts he was making to hide his discomfort. "It's-it's been really hard without you here. Without getting to talk this through with you. I almost died, Theo, and for what? Because my sister keeps flaunting her sex life, and it made us curious? I don't want to die for something as stupid as that."
"Hey. Come here."
Tumblr media
Theo pulled his boyfriend to the ground and wrapped his arms around him, just as they did back home. Adam couldn't deny how much he'd missed laying in Theo's arms, watching the clouds move above them and hearing the beating of Theo's heart. This moment was perfect and exactly why he'd fought so hard to see Theo again. There were no expectations between them in this realm. Theo couldn't accidentally hurt him here, and that knowledge made Adam bolder than he would be in the waking realm. He held Theo tightly, trying to commit every detail to memory. It could be several more months of waiting for Theo to come home and even when he did, Adam still couldn't see himself being fully able to relax at Theo's touch.
"What are you learning?" Adam asked curiously. "Tell me about your school. What's life like in demon military school?"
What's your life like without me?
"Boring. I mostly talk to teachers and tutors, there's not really a huge class size here. I get bi-weekly passes out to this weird country that has a strong culty vibe. I met a guy at the movies and we talked a bit before my parole officers dragged me back to school."
Adam bristled at the mention of another guy with Theo at a movie theater, a timeless place for teen hookups. Theo seemed to just be rambling about the boringness of his life, which calmed Adam slightly. Theo was usually pretty easy to read when he wanted something or had a crush and Adam could see none of the telltale signs on Theo's face.
Adam beamed at his boyfriend as Theo continued rambling about the quality of the food at school. Adam felt jealous of this random boy. After feeling nothing for the last few months, he finally had a Theo related emotion, even if it was jealousy. He wanted Theo to himself, he could feel that feeling spread across his body, waking it up from its long depression. After months of being unsure of his feelings for Theo, the threat of another person being interested in him ignited Adam's heart.
"You've told people that you have a boyfriend, right?"
Theo shrugged.
"I'm supposed to say you're a girl," he scoffed. "This place is weird and homophobic and I can't even mention my dads. There's something wrong with this place. Everything here is so weird."
"Oh, should I be thinking up a girl version of Adam?" the warlock teased. "Adama? Admina?"
"I just said that I was dating Remy Darktide. It's close enough and they can check and see that I'm not making her up."
Adam scowled at the thought of people thinking Theo was dating Remy. If she ever found out, she would never let that go.
"Don't tell Remy that," he pleaded.
"I've met Remy before, Adam, I know how she is. I think I can keep a secret from her."
Tumblr media
Adam squeezed Theo tightly, hoping that this moment would last forever. It wouldn't. There were limitations on how long mortals could travel in other realms and Adam could already feel the pull back to the waking world begin.
"I don't think I'm allowed to repeat this visit to see you," Adam sighed. "It was hard enough getting here this time."
"I miss you. I don't want to leave," Theo insisted. "I don't know when I'll see you again." The demon hybrid pouted, wrapping himself around Adam tighter. "Stay with me."
"I can't. I physically can't. It's not how the world works. People would start entering people's dreams whenever they wanted to, and the balance of the realms would warp. Have you figured out where you're living? Maybe I could send you a postcard."
"No, but it's somewhere strange. I don't know if it is part of the universe or just tacked on or whatever in the grand scheme of things. Only women are able to get pregnant here and they treat demons like they did back in the Demon Wars. No wonder it's so hard for people to get into this school. It's a nightmare." He paused for a moment. "Well, the stuff I'm working on is even more advanced than our class work at the academy. When I do get to go back there, I'll pass every magical exam they throw at me."
"Do they ever say how you're doing?" Adam asked hopefully. "You're leaving soon, right?"
Theo shook his head sadly.
"They keep talking about what to do with the curse I was born with. I can't cast much magic as long as it's there, festering inside me, but it's still a part of me. There's some ritual I have to prepare for and a ceremony before I can leave here. They've forced me to have several incidents back to back, and I'm getting better at controlling them. I just need the curse to either disappear entirely or re-absorb into a more controllable part of my magical essence. But they think that eliminating the curse entirely will have 'dangerous repercussions' for me, so I'm hoping that the re-absorb option is the one that works."
"Will there be any impact on me? We're connected loosely, so it's possible that I could have something impact my magic too." Adam paused. "The scar isn't the only new thing to happen to me, Theo. I can sense the Void now and open portals to it. Maybe even a little more; I've been afraid to experiment with it."
"What?!"
Theo listened with concern as Adam detailed his new abilities. A non-demonic warlock able to display mild demonic abilities? His teachers would have a fit when he asked whether Adam's new abilities impacted his studies. But still...this development gave Theo an idea.
"So neither of us can be in the Void for long periods of time, right? There's no harm that can happen just by opening a rift. You and I can both open rifts and portals now, so we can pass messages through it if we want. Think about it! We could write a message and leave it in a portal in one of the top layers of the Void where there's not much danger. The Void is connected to both of our locations, even wherever the hell I am. My teachers can open a portal to home, so it's possible."
"We could use a crystal to help pierce through the Void, so our portals have more strength," Adam agreed, thinking about what he knew of magical theory. "If you and I use the crystal in our rings at the same time to access the same area in the Void, we might have enough combined strength to pull it off. It wouldn't be powerful enough to let a person through, but a note? I could see that working."
"We could be penpals! Just...don't write anything dirty just in case another demon comes across it."
"I'll keep that in mind."
Clearly after months of isolation, Theo's mind had remained in the gutter. Adam was a teenage boy with raging hormones, sure, but every time he thought of those stolen moments wrapped up in Theo's bedsheets, fear washed over him, drowning his desires completely. Theo wasn't safe outside of a dream. Adam had nearly died. He could die any time at any moment if Theo slipped and lost control. The mere memory of the pain of demonic magic tearing him slowly apart still made him bolt awake at night. His brush with death had been devastating, and Theo's magic cult school had a clean, clinical name for what had happened. It was even textbook apparently.
It was nice to be held by Theo and it was nice to pretend that nothing between them had changed. It was nice, but it wasn't true.
"Okay, here's what we'll need. Probably at least one locked box, preferably silver if we can get our hands on it. Definitely write in pen, just in case pencil is too weak to read. Oh! Do you think we'd need notebooks or would a single piece of paper be more effective? No, definitely go with the notebooks. You'll have to get all of this though, sorry. I can't exactly run to the store here."
Tumblr media
Adam held Theo as he rambled on about how they'd pull off the Great Penpal Trick, trying to nod when appropriate.
"Theo? I think we're out of time," he announced, watching his hand and arm begin to fade on Theo's chest. "I'm waking up."
"Don't forget about the holy water. That will keep demons out of our letters."
"Theo, you're a demon and I'm a mess of demonic magic, we would probably only hurt ourselves with that. Besides, what demon wants to read about your boring school or my insane family? They have better things to do."
Theo pouted at this dose of reality. He'd spent so long thinking of what he'd say to Adam and longing to hold Adam and staring at the occasionally glowing ring he'd gotten from Adam, that he'd forgotten that he and Adam had spent so much time apart, and they were no longer in sync with each other.
"I'll wait for you to put the box in the agreed upon spot then. It won’t be too much longer that I'm here...I hope so anyway. Keep away from Simon down the hall. He has a massive crush on you and might try to hit on you while I'm gone."
Adam rolled his eyes at the very idea of running off with the guy Remy chose for him after he'd spent all of this time trying to reach his boyfriend.
"Yeah, well, you make sure that movie theater boy keeps his hands off you," he countered.
"Brion? I'm sure his weird ass homophobic country would be okay with that. Absolutely."
Adam's entire right arm vanished as the dream realm began ejecting him from it.
"Theo, I-"
Tumblr media
"Oh thank god! I was starting to worry about you. Did it work? Did you see Theo?"
Tumblr media
Adam groaned, holding his throbbing head while he regained control of his senses. He was back just where he'd started this endeavor: at school, looking over the vast landscape of Lower Pleasantview.
"Yeah, it worked," he confirmed. "He was right there. I could even touch him. We weren't just apparitions without form."
Tumblr media
"Oh, so it was that kind of dream? With touching?" Travis teased, earning a scowl from his friend.
"No, somehow we contained ourselves. We had other things to discuss."
"And? Are you still dating? Remy might back off her scheming if she knew that you were happily in a relationship with your boyfriend. The school gossip mill might die down too."
"Like Remy isn't involved with the gossip mill too? She's my twin sister, she needs to calm down. Tell her whatever you think will keep her from trying to spring more blind dates on me, but yeah, Theo and I are still dating."
Tumblr media
He looked over his shoulder to see his two lookouts too consumed by hormones to see that Adam had woken up. A quick stab of jealousy shot through him as he saw how easily they moved together. They trusted each other. Neither boy knew enough about magic to be a threat to the other. It must be nice.
Tumblr media
"We did it!" Travis exclaimed, high fiving Adam happily. "Plus, you're alive and in one piece! Tell me all about it! I'm dying to know everything that happened. Was he in his pajamas or was he projecting his own self-image? What did the deity look like? Did they threaten you?"
Adam picked up the borrowed staff he'd used earlier, inspecting it for damage.
"I'll tell you all about it, but we'd better get this back to the storage room before my dad finds us and wants to know why we needed it."

Red Sky At Morning - THE 100 REWRITE Chapter Twenty-Six
[THE 100 MASTERLIST]
Previous Chapter / Next Chapter (07/03/2024)
Summary: The group followed the map drawn in Lincoln's book to the sea but found no one there. Or so they thought. It wazsn't until night that the grounders they were looking for came for them and brought them to the one and only, Luna. But she wouldn't easily be convinced to help them, if she would be at all.
Words: 5.4k
Warnings: The 100 season 3 spoilers (episode 13 "Join or Die"; episode 14 "Red sky at morning"), same title as episode 14/ancient rhyme used by Sailors "Red sky at night, sailor's delight/Red sky at morning, sailor take warning"; fluff/romance, angst, a little blood, some violence
“It’s been an hour since we passed the airplane wreckage.” Jasper noted, following the map drawn on a double page in Lincoln’s notebook. The drawing was especially faithful, and Michelle was impressed by the Grounder’s skills. They wouldn’t have as much trouble driving around through the forest if he were still alive, but they didn’t have time to think in what if. “Seeing as we are using a map without any distances, it could be days before we reach Luna’s village.”
“At least we know we’re going in the right direction.” Bellamy retorted, focused on the road as he drove the Rover, Clarke in the passenger seat next to him. The confrontation with Emerson could have been messier, they were all there sitting at the back of the vehicle, except for Raven, Harper and Miller who stayed back. Michelle was slumped, staring into space while listening to the conversation quietly.
“We’re running out of daylight. We should stop in the sun, recharge the battery.”
“What sun? We keep going until it dies.” Clarke wasn’t wrong. One look through the window was enough to see the dark grey sky. It rained cats and dogs the whole time and stopped not that long ago. The trees were wet, their foliage and branches drooping under the weight of the water that fallen on them and gathered in the creases of the leaves, weighing down the wood.
“We keep going until we get to Luna.” Octavia chimed in. Both Clarke and Michelle gave the girl a look out of the corner of their eyes while thunder sounded in the distance and rain started falling heavily again. Octavia was understandably bitter at the whole situation, and no one really said anything. Jasper then flipped the notebook’s pages and showed another drawing to Octavia; a portrait of a woman with a thick head of hair. Her gaze, even as a drawing, was striking and severe. Octavia confirmed that it was the Luna in question.
“What do you think she’s gonna say when we show up to put an A.I. in her head?” Jasper asked sarcastically.
“Lincoln said she helps those that are in trouble. She’ll help us too.” Octavia declared. The three at the back were shaken when Bellamy suddenly pulled the car to a full stop, tires screeching in the muddy path. As she was slouched, Michelle slid off her seat and leaned on it to stand up, bending forward to peek out of the windshield while Jasper and Octavia kept talking about Luna and whether or not she would help.
“Backtrack.” Bellamy said in a low voice. Trees had fallen because of the thunder and were lying right across the road, blocking the way. “We’ll find somewhere where the trees aren’t so bad. Hey!” Octavia opened the backdoor and jumped out of the Rover. She wasn’t going to wait around and decided without a word that the whole ground would continue on foot. They all got out of the vehicle, following her in the rain. Michelle took off her father’s jacket, still wearing hers underneath, and put it over her head too keep dry. Jasper glanced at her after noticing she had two.
She shrugged, “What? I got mine and my dad’s, gotta make use of it.” He shrugged as well, nodding. While the others started running off, he rose his voice.
“Anyone hear the part where I said it could be days?”
“Stop.” Octavia stopped in her tracks, raising her hand. Water was rushing loudly nearby, and she looked around. She turned to Clarke. “you hear that?”
“Water.” The two girls took off and Bellamy still tried to warn them about whoever they could run into. Whoever might be there, they could indeed be hostile for all they knew. Michelle’s jacket fell down her head and onto her shoulders and she found herself too lazy to put it back up, and it was useless anyway, the rain had stopped already. One minute it was pouring, the other barely a few drops crashing on their scalps.
“They’re not hostile. Put the guns down.” Octavia then claimed, looking at her brothers before continuing to walk away. Michelle was standing next to him as Jasper joined the girls, her dad’s jacket resting on her shoulders as if it were a cloak when Bellamy put a hand on her backa dn they started running after their friends, going down the river cutting through the forest. They reached the sea a minute later, fog hanging over the body of water, but no village. It was silent, no more thunder either. Looking around, they saw a piece of land with piles of rock set up in a circle. Octavia checked the notebook. The stone circle was drawn on it, but there wasn’t any Grounder village. Maybe their village was further into the sea and not visible from shore. She ran to the stones, followed by the rest of the group.
“Isn’t a village. It’s just a bunch of rocks.”
“No shit.” Michelle said under her breath, slipping her arms back into her dad’s jacket’s sleeves now that they stopped running around.
“She’s gone.” Clarke said, desperate. Michelle then voiced her assumption, that the village was out in the sea, but it still didn’t help them figure out what to do now. Clarke turned around, following their gaze as they watched Octavia walk to the edge and kneel, leaning on the rocks as she let out a scream. The rest of them just looked at each other in a heavy silence. Eventually, they decided on making a fire. Bellamy was walking back and forth, bringing wood. Clarke stood up.
“It’ll be dark soon. We need to talk about what we’re gonna do.”
“We waitr until first light, and then we split up and search the shore in both directions.” Octavia declared without taking her eyes off of what she was doing, rubbing two long sticks together trying to start the fire, panting with the effort. When she saw a sparkle, she leaned forward and blew on it. A white smoke grew from it. She careful moved it to the pieces of wood set up at the center of the stone circle and kept blowing on it with Jasper. The fire then spread and grew over the wood. It was at least one good thing done.
“I agree. Lincoln wouldn’t have put this spot on the map unless it was important.”
“Yeah, if their village is out in the sea, maybe they come to check this spot to see if there’s anyone, and with the fire, hopefully they’ll see we’re here trying to make contact.” Michelle added, looking at Bellamy. He bent forward, picking up the notebook as she spoke and Octavia smacked his hand, urgning him to not touch it. He kept quiet for a second before crouching down. Clarke then agreed with her friend and the two moved closer to Jasper, on the other side of the fire while Bellamy attempted to talk to his sister, who was just ignoring him.
“Come on, O. How long?”
“I don’t know. I can’t even look at you…” She indeed avoided looking at him while she cracked some sticks, adding them to fuel the fire znd keep it going. She spoke through gritted teeth, staring at the flames, “because every time I do, I see Pike putting that gun to Lincoln’s head. I hear the gunshot. I see him fall.”
“I didn’t kill Lincoln.”
“No, but he is dead because of you.” She stood up, her tone rising with anger. Michelle, Clarke and Jasper were crouched by the fire, trying not to stare at the two siblings but it was obviously a little akward to be there in silence, in front of such a conversation.
“I came to you. You didn’t take my help. If you had just trusted me, I…” She threw her wood on the ground, and it fell, the pieces clattering against each other as she seemingly gave up talking to him, crouching down again. Clarke and Michelle stood up, looking at Bellamy walking away along the shore, alone. Jasper sighed and threw something in the fire, which turned the flame a weird shade of green.
“What did you just do?” Octavia enquired.
“Nothing. I just threw these in the fire.” He held a branch in his hand. Octavia stared at it as if she had just thought of something and picked up Lincoln’s book at her feet. She found a piece of a branch of the same tree in between some of the pages.
“Ugh. Signal fire. He was trying to tell us. Michelle, you were right.  They must be watching this place, waiting for that signal. This is how we contact Luna.”
“I’ll get more.” He threw one more bit into the flames and ran around to get others. The three girls smiled at the discovery but Clarke and Michelle both looked over their shoulders at Bellamy, still walking away in the distance.
“Should we leave him alone or should I…?” Michelle wondered quietly. Clarke motioned for her to go after him, adding that she would join them later. Michelle didn’t plan on trying to talk to him about his situation with his sister, he wouldn’t like that. She wouldn’t like it if he tried to come up to her to if she was in such a situation with her father, which she used to, back when she was with Murphy and he knew it wasn’t his place to really say anything, and right now it was basically the same. It wasn’t exactly her place to try to tell him what he should or shouldn’t do. He gave her a glance when he noticed her approach as he just stood there, facing the open sea, his arms crossed. She just tried to give him a smile as she sat down on a rock and his face relaxed a little. Michelle closed her eyes, the strands of hair falling along her face and stuck under her jacket, blown by the breeze, the sea wind caressing her skin. Her arms wrapped around her knees, she let her mind wander and lose itself in her memories. her mind quickly spiralled out of control, and she couldn't think about anything but how much she was worried about her father in Polis. She had a bad feeling. Her face reflected her trouble and her brows furrowed, her lips tightening. She rested the side of her face on her knees, looking at Bellamy and the forest sideways.
“Are you okay?” She asked quietly.
“I’m fine.” He, at first, responded quite harshly, though she obviously didn’t take offense. His eyes wandered back to the fire where his sister still was. She straightened up, looking up at him. It was easy to tell he was saddened by how downhill his relationship with Octavia went, and there was no one but himself to blame. He did choose to side with Pike and let the latter get to his head. He almost lost any chance of Michelle and him ever being a thing as well. He looked at her, his eyes glossy, widened in fear that the damage he did to their relationship was undoable. “Michelle, I think I’ve lost her.”
“Give her time, Bellamy.” She stood up, facing him, her hand softly holding his arm as she gave him a compassionate look. “She’s gonna need lots of it. And there may be blood on your hands, but it’s not Lincoln’s. That was Pike.”
“He did it because of me. I let him.” He slightly shook his head, glancing at the fire, his eyes getting glossier as he struggled to keep the tears at bay.
“Pike wouldn’t do something just because of you. You didn’t want that to happen. You tried to stop it. Octavia will forgive you eventually…” He looked away from her as a tear rolled along his cheek and randomly glanced at the forest behind him to try to hide it. Michelle frowned in concern, taking a heavy breath and turning his face back to her with her hand, wiping away the tear with her hand holding his cheek. “Question is, will you forgive yourself?”
“Forgiveness is hard for us.” His eyes were wet, and his bottom lip quivered as he looked at the fire again. She followed his gaze and saw Octavia stare at them before turning around and walk away, a plank of wood under her arm.
“I’m not Octavia but, I get it.” Her hand slid off his face and rested on his shoulder. He watched her attentively as she spoke. “It took me weeks to forgive my dad – for something he wasn’t even responsible for but anyway… took me some time to forgive you for choosing the wrong side too. But what did it for me was that both my dad and you showed that you were sorry for whatever happened, whatever you did... And I grew to love my dad, I didn’t wanna be mad anymore, and I—” Michelle cut herself off, looking into the distance, towards the sea. She pursed her lips, pressing them against each other. She knew what she wanted to say outloud and maybe it was the right time. With a sigh, briefly closing her eyes before looking back at him, she added; “I love you.” But she quickly went on to say something else, a little embarrassed by her confession which was ironic since they did already kiss and sleep together a few times, “Your sister loves you too, Bellamy. She will forgive you, give it time. She’s angry but one day, she won’t want to feel this way anymore.”
“Michelle.” His brows furrowed sadly as a couple more tears fell from his eyes, and he turned his head to wipe them off with his fist. She gently held his face and drew him into a kiss. He then wrapped his arms around her waist, holding her tightly and buried her face in her hair and she in his neck as he whispered to her ear, “I love you too.”
“Could you have imagined, when we landed on the ground, that we would say stuff like this?” He chuckled, a sob breaking through his laugh as he held her tighter. She didn’t exactly remember how she felt about him in the beginning, but she remembered she didn’t really like him. He was somewhat cocky and acted so sure of himself, but she smiled, remembering it was him who showed her how to use a gun, though she did have beforehand knowledge on those weapons. She had no knowledge of what it was like to love someone like this, but now she did, and she only had him to thank for it. Her lips quivered, thinking of her father out of the blue but she was way more worried than she would ever admit out loud. It wasn’t just a bad feeling. She was terrified to find out whether he took the chip, and whether she would have to kill him which she wouldn’t be able to do so, if no one killed him, he would kill her, because of Alie’s grasp over him and the fact she would never take the chip. She held Bellamy tighter as well, feeling like she had already lost her father. She was getting ahead of herself too much and she knew it, but she couldn’t help but let her mind spiral. She would keep it to herself for now, it didn’t feel the right time to draw attention to her own troubles.
They were staring off into the distance, standing in the dark of night, still on the shore, when Clarke finally joined them. The trio began to talk about Octavia again and Clarke thought the same as Michelle, she would forgive him if he gave her enough time. They talked about when Clarke left them, how angry he felt but that he didn’t want to feel this way anymore and what Michelle said earlier seemed to clock in. As they were comforting each other, saying they were there for each other, Bellamy turned his head towards the sea and alerted them when he saw figures stick out the water. They were taken by surprise, tackled to the ground forcefully, grunting. Michelle felt warmth around her eyebrow and felt the blood drip on her eylid. She had been slammed on the sand so hard, her face hit a rock, but it was better than the concussion she got the last time she hit her head. The strangers put something on their mouth before tying and gagging them and bringing them back to the fire, where a few other of them were holding at gunpoint, but with crossbows. Octavia and Jasper held their hands up while the three others were forced on their knees. The Grounder addressed Octavia in trigedasleng. From what Michelle made out of it, it sounded like questions.
“Why should we give you safe passage?” The man then asked in English.
“Lincoln.” He glanced at his companions upon hearing the Grounder’s name. “He sent us.” He then spoke again in their language and the people standing behind Bellamy, Michelle and Clarke removed their gags and frees them.
“What’s going on?” Bellamy questioned in a whisper. Octavia had no idea either. The Grounder took a few steps towards her and handed her something.
“What is that?” Clarke asked.
“Safe passage.” He said as he gave one to each of them.
“Octavia, wait.” Bellamy rose his voice when his sister drank whatever it was in the little vial. Her only response was that she trusted Lincoln, and the Grounder that gave them those specified that if she was the only one to agree to drink this, she would be the only one to go. Michelle was the first to follow her lead and drink the content in one go. Bellamy repeated himself, grabbing her arm too late, she had already drunk. The two girls looked at each other, Michelle knew she was feeling this same weird way as she did. She felt all her strength gradually leave her body. Her vision got blurry as she fought to stay up but when she took a step to balance her weight on her feet, her knee bent and her leg way under her and she collapsed to the sand, her head turned towards Bellamy as he caught her in her fall. His face was the last thing she saw before it went dark.
Tumblr media
She frowned, awakened by a ray of sunlight, and leaned on her hand to sit up. The others had woken up too, and everyone was looking around in complete confusion, having no idea where they had ended up. They were locked in a large, rusted container, and sunrays penetrated through holes in the metal here and there. Their guns were gone, and Octavia realized she didn’t have her sword anymore. She banged on the wall and soon after, whether or not it was related, the doors at the end of the container opened, blinding the group for a moment as a woman entered, her face hidden at first as she stood against the light but it quickly became clear that it was Luna that was in front of them.
“Where’s Lincoln?”
“Lincoln is dead.” Octavia told her.
“Lincoln said that you would help us.” Clarke stepped in.
“Did he?”
“Luna, you’re the last of your kind, the last nightblood.”
“So Lexa’s dead as well.”
“Her spirit has chosen you to become the next commander. Titus entrusted me with the flame to give to you.”
“Then he should have told you that I left my conclave swearing to never kill again.”
“You don’t have to kill. To lead is your birthright. How you lead is your choice. Here.” She stepped towards Luna, holding the small box in which she kept the flame and handed it over to her. She carefully brought her hands to her to observe the small object.
“I recognize the sacred symbol, but what is that?”
“This is the flame that holds the spirits of the commanders, of Lexa. Will you take it and become the next commander?” They all hung on Luna’s lips, waiting for her answer, hoping she would take it. The suspenseful silence was broken by her negative answer as she rolled Clarke’s fingers over the flame and pushed her fist away upon her refusal. They couldn’t believe they had come all this way for it to be over so quickly. Clarke glanced at her friends before running after Luna, calling out to her. She didn’t stop or turn back to them and just walked away. It was the group who stopped in their tracks, looking around in bewilderment. They were on a huge platform, an oil rig like the one Michelle saw on pictures, in the middle of the ocean.
Tumblr media
“Everywhere I looked, there were fins. And teeth. And blood. I knew if they saw me, I’d be next, so I just floated there, waiting, praying they’d swim on.” Michelle stared into space listening with one ear the girl reading poetry in the hall of the Oil Rig. None of them was really paying attention. They were waiting, hoping for Luna to agree to help them and take the flame. A door opened and she entered.
“She’s here. Maybe she changed her mind.” Bellamy told the group, Clarke, Michelle and him standing up to go meet with her.
“The boats return at nightfall. Then you leave. Forever.”
“Luna, let us explain—” Clarke was cut off by the Grounder.
“I said no.”
“No, you need to hear this.” Bellamy stepped in front of her. She eventually looked at him. “There’s something out ther that is going to destroy us all.”
“Whatever it is, it can’t reach us here.” She walked pasted the trio and went to Octavia, telling her they needed to talk. Jasper took it as his cue to leave and got up, leaving the two women. Once Luna left, they returned to sit beside Octavia, having to wait it out since she was so against taking the flame and coming with them. In the distance, Jasper was chatting with the girl who recited poetry a moment ago.
“Jasper’s actually smiling.” Bellamy noted. He followed Clarke’s gaze as she looked at Luna, cuddling with her lover against the wall.
“Clarke. Let it go.” The latter glanced over at her best friend and shook her head.
“We can’t just leave.”
“It’s not like we have much of a choice.” Octavia added, fidgeting with a tiny piece of wood.
“Maybe we do.”
“What are you talking about?” Bellamy enquired.
“I’m talking about putting this into her head without asking.”
“Clarke, we can’t do this.” Michelle leaned towards her.
“We can fight and go back to Arkadia. We arm up.” He added, agreeing with his girlfriend.
“Fight who?” She questioned. “It’s an army of our own people. I don’t like this any more than you do. But if Raven’s right, and the code on this thing can stop Alie…” Two Grounders came in shouting in their native language; She paused, glancing over her shoulder before turning her head back to her friends, looking a little hopeless. “Give me a better idea.”
“We’ll stay here. It’s the only way they’ll leave you alone with her.” Bellamy concluded. As Clarke was about to stand up, she was briefly stopped by Octavia addressing her.
“Even Alie gives people a choice.”
“We gave Luna a choice. She said no.” He shrugged, exchanging a glance with Michelle and Clarke, nodding at one another before the blonde finally got up and walked away. They met up again once it was dark, and dark it was out in the open sea. Aside from the light of the moon shining on the waves, and a few spotlights on the rig, it was pitch black out there and the whole oil rig was dead silent, as everyone was asleep. They were being led back to the container in which they awakened this morning as they were going to be brought back to shore. Luna was waiting for them by the container. Jasper wasn’t with the group and according to Clarke, he was saying goobye to his new friend, not that Michelle cared much what he was doing right now. They opened the doors and a group of Grounders stepped out.
“Sorry, Cap. You gotta take them back.” She turned to them. “You get your weapons once you land.”
“Inside.” While Clarke tried to ask Luna about the flame since the later took it from her after she tried to forcibly put it in her neck, the others were pushed inside the container. They didn’t try to fight, it was pointless. They failed at convincing Luna and now they could only leave this place. Michelle’s thoughts were already, and as always, on going to Polis to check on her dad. She was anxious to find out whether he took the chip or not and what would be left of him. This was her main concern at the moment. Then suddenly, the Grounders that walked out of the container started attacking everyone outside, stabbing and grunting and slammed the doors shut, trapping the group in the dark. Michelle was quick to understand they had somehow been infected by Alie as she came to realize they attacked shortly after Luna pulled out the flame to show Clarke.
“They’re locking us in.” Octavia exclaimed, alarmed. Clarke started banging on the wall and shouting, eager to find out what was going on.
“They took the flame. Soemhow, while they were on land, they took the chip. Luna’s safe haven is compromised now.” Michelle said with a sigh.
“Yeah. Alie’s here.” Bellamy added, agreeing with her. Clarke looked at them, speechless, not knowing what to do, or how to get out of there. They had no weapon, nothing to free themselves while Alie’s minions tried to take over the oil rig. They only had a flashlight. Holding it in front of her, Octavia walked around the container while Bellamy tried to nudge the doors open.
“How did Alie even find this place?” Octavia wondered, kicking in the wall with anger.
“There was a drone at Niylah’s. She must’ve followed us looking for the Flame and now she has it.” Sat on the floor, Michelle looked at him while Clarke was frowning, her gaze staring into space. “She’s gonna put the AI in Luna.”
“She’d have to chip her first. If Luna’s chipped before she gets the AI, Alie’s gonna know everything. We’ll never be able to stop her. We can’t let that happen.” She sprung up on her feet and walked with a determined step towards the door, banging on it and shouting. Everyone ended up just sitting down in silence, trying to wait it out, or wait for someone to come open the door. There was nothing they could do from the inside. They were locked up, end of story.
“This place was safe until we got here.” Octavia spoke, flashing her light at the wall, up and down, aimlessly. They had no idea how long it had been, but they all turned their heads instantly and got on their feet when they heard the lock clancked against the door, meaning someone was messing with it. The door opened and they jogged outside, thinking it was Jasper who freed them, only for them to find the girl he was chatting with, gasping on the ground with an arrow in her shoulder. Clarke kneeled by her side and the girl tried to speak.
“Machine room… B level…” then she gave her final breath and they left her there, unable to do anything else. She was dead. Michelle gave her a horrifief glance out of the corner of her eyes, looking at the blood covering hre mouth and chin. It reminded her of when she had been infected with that weird blood fever back at the dropship, months ago. Or when she had her hands slashed, and her leg pierced through with a drill. She had had her share of her own bloodshed, but it was still not something she liked to see. They ran through the rig and got to their destination. Octavia ignored her brother’s warning, telling her to be careful and ran inside the machine room. They found Luna, on the ground, holding her lover, her other hand around the handle of a knife plunged into the man’s chest. Jasper was hanged by his wrist on the other side of the room. Two other grounders, those that came on the rig chipped were dead. A young girl was curled up near one of the bodies, she’d probably been used to pressure Luna into accepting the chip or something like that. Bellamy went to check on her while Michelle and Octavia cut Jasper down, and Clarke went to Luna, who let out a bloodcurling cry when her partner let out his final breath. Michelle felt her pain and looked at her, her mouth frowned slightly, her lips twitching. She was wailing, holding his body close to her, her face distorted by the heartbreak and grief, caressing his face and apologizing for what she had to do while sobbing.
Once she somewhat calmed down, the whole lot of the Oil Rig’s inhabitant gathered for the funeral ceremony. Michelle, Clarke, Bellamy, Octavia and Jasper were standing there in a corner. They had to wait for Luna to come to them when she was done.
“Any of them could be chipped, and we’d never know.” Bellamy whispered, her eyes glazing over the room.
“If they are, they’ll make their move before we put the Flame in Luna. Stay sharp.” Clarke watched as Luna came towards them, accompanied with another girl.
“The ceremony is about to begin.”
“I’m so sorry. But now you see what we’re facing. An enemy who will do anything to win. She won’t stop until she had everyone.”
“People I love died today. Needlessly, by my hand. I can’t let that happen.” Luna looked down at the Flame, held in between her fingers. She turned her back to them, facing everyong in the room. They all stood up, cups in their hands. The group had been giving cups too. “As we prepare to give our brothers and sisters to the sea, we honor their lives.” They spoke in their native language in unison, and everyone drank from their cups quietly. Luna turned back to them.
“I we’re gonna do this, we have to hurry. Alie will send reinforcements. We have to find some place private to perform the Ascencion.” Luna stared at her with an impassible face.
“You believe that to defeat an enemy who will stop at nothing, you must stop at nothing. How is that different than blood must have blood?” As she spoke, Michelle slightly frowned and squinted her eyes. For some reason, her mind felt clouded, and she began to have trouble on what was being said, looking into space, trying to focus her eyes. She took a step to the side as her sight began to sway, or maybe it was her body. She raised her hand, trying to reach for Bellamy’s shoulder and he grabbed her arm, catching her as she fell, but ended up collapsing in turn, his arm stretched out under her head. Their cups had broken to pieces on the ground. She opened her eyes and sat up with a start, a little disorientated still. Bellamy was already awake, walking around with his weapon in hand, watching over the others, still passed out. She put a hand to her eyebrow, the little cut that she had gotten after hitting her head on a rock before being transported to the Rig, had been stitched. Well, she was at least thankful for that. Her eyes went on the hand held out in front of her and looked up to Bellamy as she grabbed his hand and he pulled her on her feet. Movements caught their eye, and they glanced over at Clarke who woke up, checking the box put in her hand, to see if the Flame was inside. They exchanged a nod and kept on walking to the shore while Octavia and Jasper came back to their senses as well. They failed to convince Luna. And they were now back to square one.
“Now what?” He asked, turning his head to Clarke as all five of them stood in line, in front of the sea, clueless as to what to do. Michelle had her sight set on Polis, and getting news from her father, after being separated from him for three days. She had to chase away her bad feeling and keep hopeful that he was still alive and well.

Answering this in dye colors. Putting it behind a keep reading thingy since I have a lot of characters.
B'Elano: Metallic green. I intended for it to be turquoise, but he just kept gravitating towards metallic green dye and *shrug* things happened.
B'Elarra: Royal blue. I intended for it to be turquoise, but she married Aymeric and his love of that shade of blue was contagious.
Baylen: Metallic sky blue. I intended for it to be turquoise, but metallic sky blue reminded them of the sea. The sea is painful for them after they leave Sui-no-Sato, but after falling in love with Merlwyb, it reminds them of her instead.
B'ayana: Metallic purple. I intended for it to be turquoise, but I got her the emerald carbuncle outfit and they liked how metallic purple looked with it.
(Do you notice a theme? I love the turquoise dye. SOMEONE LET ME USE TURQUOISE DYE.)
Adria: Black and red. At least that's what I intended this time. People say they look like a demon (Xaela with red skin and eyes), so they embrace it and go for a goth demon look. They find fire to be peaceful, and they lived on a volcano for a while.
Luna: Abyssal blue. They like starry night colors - black, dark blue, dark purple. Abyssal blue is what they gravitate towards the most.
Ystra: Pearl white, and pastely blues/pinks/purples. Anything that reminds them of snow and ice.
Merri: Cherry pink. She just likes it.
Mireya: She just likes it. It goes well with her hair.
the vibes are rancid tonight, so if you shall indulge a little wol question,,,,
what color do you associate most with your wol/oc!
is it their hair color? their eyes? a color they wear often? does it hold some personal meaning in their story? (bonus points if you also include their favorite color, regardless if it's the same or different) <3

i have feelings about Bellamy's 7b story being ooc #BUT NOTHING LIKE CLARKE 'DO BETTER' GRIFFIN SHOOTING HIM?? THEN GOING ON A SPREE??? #it was so against the story they told in the first 6.5 seasons #and you're right op it was ridiculous writing that not just Clarke but all of his family and friends stood by that bonkers decision #he deserved sm better #(as did the people who wouldn't have been the same without him) #sorry now I'm ranting #but this post is so on point!! #the season that shall not be named #7b i don't know her
there's a lot to talk about unfairness in s7 and OOC and anything there is that people can be right about but the one thing that will always, ALWAYS kill me is that Bellamy wasn't offered the same courtesy that he has given people before. Yes, as dumb as this idea of ascention can be, just imagine it was s3 ALIE (because it is that recycled plot anyway) and remember what all of them did to those who had taken the chip-
they tried to save them. They tried to prevent them from taking it or wanted to fix things after they took it. And even if it wasn't about chips and ALIE (even though it is the same plot) they could've given Bellamy the benfit of the doubt.
Again, I know the plot sucks and he seems OOC, and you can't make sense of him but remember-they can't make sense of him either and even if they refused to acknowledge this new belief in him, they could've done one thing.
Could've f*cking respected his choice and not killed him.
That's it. And the other thing they could've done is to try and talk to him MORE than the two conversations that he had with Raven and Clarke in which they just accussed him before destroying him.
As a core character they should've chained him and brought him with them and made him 'see' the way they wanted him to see things.
FFS, let's not forget that they did everything to SAVE FINN of all people. Finn. Are you telling me they couldn't extend the courtesy to Bellamy?
When he had extended it to them? Had he not understood Clarke when she left? He did and as much as it hurt him and made him angry and ended up in him making wrong choices, he still recognized HERS.
He understood Jasper when he wanted to stay behind and convinced Jaha not to take away his and the other kids' choices.
THEY all tried to save Raven when she was possessed by ALIE.
But somehow he couldn't be offered that? That's one big BS.

Alpheus didn't even bother responding to the man. He crossed his arms and drew an insane amount of power to his hands. Theo could see the demon's golden eyes glint in the darkness. There was nothing human in those eyes at all.
So this was what the blood demons looked like at their height. These were the beings that wrote the textbooks he studied at school. He could see why they had been destroyed and blood magic heavily restricted over the centuries. Raw, feral power flowed from him, overwhelming any being who had the misfortune of standing near him. This was an ancient, non-hybrid blood demon and Theo was quaking even watching this representation of Alpheus.
"Is this the Demon Wars?" he asked eagerly. "This is when Alpheus fell? This guy kills him?"
Tumblr media
Reogus paused for a moment, waiting for the terrified soldier to summon all the magic he could in defiance of the demon. It took only seconds for Alpheus to make the smallest gesture with his hand, instantly twisting the man and snuffing out his life.
Theo gasped, staring at the corpse in front of him in horror.
"Why would you show me this? You should have jumped to the part where he loses. I don't need to see your own idea of a snuff film!"
Tumblr media
Unknown to Theo, Adam watched the scene before him in horror. As far as Adam could remember, he had gone to bed in his dorm, and hadn't left the building. Still, if this was a dream, it was the most realistic one he'd ever had. He could smell the blood of the fallen soldiers, he could feel the bitting of the wind whipping around him. He'd tried to wave at Theo to grab his attention, but either his boyfriend couldn't see him or he was completely lost in the scene before him. At least Theo had a tour guide to assist him through this, Adam had simply woken up here unprepared.
Tumblr media
"There are plenty of things in life that must be seen to understand," the warlock said, still ignoring Theo's patented Bellamy glare. "If I were to read you a textbook, the gravity of the past might escape you. Demons of the past killed without hesitation and often for their own amusement. This is what you are."
Theo physically recoiled at these words, shaking his head vigorously in protest.
"No, no, I'm not. These are full blooded demons a million years ago! I shouldn't have to keep telling people that I don't want to kill them!"
Adam smiled from his corner of this nightmare. Of course Theo wouldn't kill people on a whim like the demons of old. He wasn't even a full demon with their abilities. It looked like the old witches and warlocks used a bit of blood magic too, and as far as Adam knew, using blood magic didn't condemn them to be killers.
Tumblr media
"Alpheus! That death wasn't on the list! You need to be stopped."
A hooded figure shouted angrily at the demon, holding a faint light above his head menacingly. Alpheus appeared to be confused for a moment, then when he recognized the figure, he let out an amused laugh.
Tumblr media
"Go cry back to your mommy, Atem," the demon teased. "This isn't any business of a reaper. I'll do as I please."
The flicker of light above Atem wavered in his hands and for an instant, Theo could have sworn that he heard a whimpering voice call out, then suddenly silenced.
"That's someone's soul isn't it?" Theo whispered, his face suddenly ashen as he watched the scene before him.
"Blood magic feeds on every part of a living thing," Reogus noted. "There is dark demonic magic that feeds on the energy of souls, yes. There is dark magic that is fuelled by the natural processes of life. Eating or drinking, sex and childbirth, the separation of soul and body at death, these are all occasions where blood magic can excel. The unnatural perversion of an unauthorized death was an enticing target for your kind."
Tumblr media
"Watch as he draws power from the same soul the reaper is trying to rescue," Reogus continued, as casually as if he were merely giving a lecture on the subject. "There is a power struggle between two creatures of enormous strength playing out here. Does the power belong to the demon who harvested the soul for his own use or to those sworn to guard the journey of souls to their resting place?"
Theo tried to avert his eyes from the demon before him, but it was no use. There was something stirring within the teen that couldn't help feeling drawn to the glow hovering around Alpheus' body. As a hybrid, Theo didn't feel the aching cold of a full demon, but his body still responded against his will as he felt the energy pulse before him. It was beautiful and tantalizing, warm and energetic all at once. Theo briefly thought of his friend Bronwen and the conversations they'd had about her vampiric pull towards fresh blood. Like Theo, she was a hybrid and would never have the same irresistible draw to blood that her mother did, but she was still called all the same. She had been drinking synthetic or donated blood in small quantities since her birth. There was no denying the way her breathing hitched when someone injured themselves and the smell of blood entered the air. Theo could feel that same irresistible draw as Alpheus struggled to retrieve his prey and small tendrils of energy spiraled out, desperate to escape.
Tumblr media
"Focus! Feel the energy! How does it change your senses? How would you consume this energy for yourself? Can you feel the waves of competition fighting for control? Remember the sensation of Death and his minions and the way their powers burn against your own."
"I don't need to because I'm not going to be killing people," Theo insisted angrily. "T-this, this doesn't bother me."
There was no denying the change in Theo. His body called for the energy in front of him like it was water in a desert. It sang to him and the more he tried to ignore it, the louder it called.
"Try this, it should help. Not bad for a first try."
The mysterious warlock produced a large ball of energy from his hands and waved it in front of Theo. It wasn't the same size or colour or as powerful as the soul in front of him, but energy was energy. Theo extended his senses toward it, sighing as he could feel the comforting warmth melt into his skin.
"This is just a recreation of history, not the real thing," Reogus warned. "The real thing isn't going to be sated with a quick energy spell. It will call to you until you either consume it or drive yourself into madness trying to possess it. Coming of age means a great deal to a young blood demon. Your powers will mature and strengthen, and you may feel called to actions like this. You've already tied yourself to my powerful bloodline, and there is great potential for danger if you cannot master your emotions or turn away from temptations like this."
"Well, it's not like this is a common thing to run across these days," Theo protested, still feeling shaky despite the energy he'd consumed. "If I'm one of the only people practicing blood magic these days, I'll be fine."
Theo could hear the desperation in his own voice, begging for his words to be true. As much as he tried to ignore the way his body responded to something horrifying, there was no denying it.
"You may want to ask your instructors to replicate an exercise like this one going forward. Control is everything. Control over your desire for magic. Control over your fears and passions. Control over your own self. Even demon hybrids mature faster than their non demonic peers. Not as quickly as a full demon, but quick enough. You may experience the desires and draws that mature demons experience sooner than you might expect, and you must control them."
"Who will appear if I don't?" Theo asked worriedly. "Reapers? Other demons? Angels? Who won between Alpheus and the reaper?"
Tumblr media
"See for yourself," Reogus replied, gesturing to the victorious reaper, basking in the light of soul who successfully passed on. "By this time, Lukas had been installed in their proper position as Life. The delicate balance of the world was beginning to heal. Though the Great and blood demons were still extremely powerful, they were still subject to the laws of nature. The reaper prevailed. To answer your other question, it would depend on what natural laws you were breaking. A reaper would come for a soul, the Sovereign might appear for a demonic offense. A witch or warlock wouldn't likely be summoned to deal with you, but a council member might take an interest. God help you if you attract an angel. There are only a handful of them left, but they're vicious creatures without remorse. I suppose Lukas does like to interfere with the living too, but they usually mean well. You'll be safest if you just learn to control yourself and stay away from situations that might draw supernatural attention."
Tumblr media
"Now, try to fight this!" the warlock ordered, his attitude changing in an instant. He summoned two new glowing balls of energy, more piercing than the last and waited.
Theo couldn't even register what was happening to him, it was happening so fast. His body grew again into an adult size, warping and changing in the blink of an eye. Theo could feel the weight of his horns on his head once more and a feverish hunger for energy and blood.
"W-what? What's happening?"
"Just another exercise to practice," Reogus replied. His calm, reserved demeanor enraged Theo for reasons he couldn't name.
Tumblr media
"I want it!" Theo shouted, reaching for the balls of energy in desperation.
"I can see that. What will you do when I refuse to hand it over? Will you kill me? Hurt me? How well can you control yourself?"
Something inside of Theo felt broken, and if he could just touch the energy before him, he knew that this aching feeling would heal. He'd never wanted something so strongly before and he barely knew what it was that he was aching for. Maybe as kid, Theo would have been safe from this all consuming desire, but in this adult body, with no one nearby to judge him, Theo allowed the feeling to overwhelm him. He needed this energy like he needed to breathe and suddenly the warlock's questions made sense. His rational mind could control itself and resist the temptation, but his mind was far from rational at the moment. He might hurt someone if they interfered with his prey. He certainly wouldn't kill anyone, but it would be dangerous for someone to get in his way.
Tumblr media
"Theo?" Adam's whisper was barely audible as he watched his boyfriend change before his very eyes. Adam pressed against the heavy fence, trying to avoid detection. Whatever was happening here was dangerous and looked private. Adam wasn't sure why he was here at all, so not drawing attention to himself seemed to be the best option.
"Hybrids aren't supposed to feel the same draw to energy as regular demons," Theo managed to shout while trying to remain in control of himself. "It was why Dorhack wanted to experiment with hybrids in the first place! I don't feel this way, not ever! What are you doing to me?"
Tumblr media
"Merely showing you who you are," Reogus responded. "You are tied to my bloodline. You descend from Great Demons. You practice blood magic and you are growing into your full powers. This is a warning. Can you try to turn away from this energy? Even if it's difficult?"
"No," Theo growled, gritting his teeth angrily. "No, I can't. I don't know why."
"Which is why you must push yourself to succeed. You have access to a great deal of magical and demonic power, Theo. You have had several incidents where you almost died because you could not control or release the energy that builds up in you. To survive, you must learn to let go of that power or share it with others."
"Can you help me now?" Theo whined, still struggling to remove himself from the energy with all of his strength. "I get the point. I don't feel so well. Can I just go home already?"
Tumblr media
"Young Mr. Darktide. How pleasant to see you here. Unexpected, but nice. I don't see many Darktides these days."
Adam whirled around to find a strange woman smiling at him. It was unnerving the way she stared at him. Almost as if she knew him, but Adam couldn't place her in his memory.
"Have we met?" he asked cautiously. "Can you see me? I'm not sure what I'm doing here exactly. Am I dreaming? Can Theo see me?"
The woman smiled again, looking at Adam as if he were a toddler.
"They can't see you, no. You're hitchhiking here across the realm of dreams. I hate those time warlocks. They think that they make the rules and can do anything they want. Well, they can't and when they try, things like this happen. Guess who has to fix things then? Always me."
Tumblr media
"I'm sorry, I don't know how I got here," Adam said politely. "I'm pretty sure I just went to bed and appeared here...right?"
The woman smiled kindly and Adam's fears began to ease. She wasn't a threat, or at least he was guessing as much. The way that she looked at him seemed friendly, almost curiously if he had to guess. He was an amusing diversion from her regular life, something new to interact with.
"You're tied to that little demon over there," the woman explained, pointing in Theo's direction. "He was summoned here with enough power to trigger your connection and now you're here! Just another loose end those warlocks leave for me when they're done playing with my realm. That one especially. He's a Maricourt alright. No sense of boundaries or of the work it takes to maintain the realm of dreams."
"So I'm stuck in Theo's dream because we're connected? That-that doesn't happen often, right? There are some...dreams I'd prefer he doesn't see."
The woman winked at the teen playfully and laughed.
"No, this is just the time witches having fun again," she assured Adam. "Without the ability to manipulate time and space, you will never accidentally end up here. Theo was brought here for a purpose, and you're just a complication."
"Who are you? Is this place dangerous? Can you help Theo escape here?"
Tumblr media
"I am Luna, Guardian of Dreams," the woman replied. If she was offended by the question, Adam couldn't see it in her body language. If anything, she looked even more excited to see him than she had earlier. "Princess Luna St. Julien, to be exact. My father, King Reyes St. Julien, ruled Crystal Cove until my older sister ended the Pleasantview Civil War and became empress of Crystal Cove and Pleasantview. We're not so far removed, you and I. My father just happens to be your great-great grandfather."
"The Civil War ended centuries ago," Adam argued wearily. This would be an interesting dream if he didn't have the sinking sense that this dream wasn't somehow based in reality. "There have been at least five generations of monarchy in Crystal Cove post empire alone. There's no way that we're that closely related."
Luna shrugged.
"I never said anything about the lifespans of our family or when they had their children. As you can see from my excellent magical skills, I'm proof that our family has unlimited potential. Your specific branch of the family tree has less, but it's better than most families. The Darktides that I knew, including the man my father loved, were all powerful demons. No Great Demons of course, but a large chunk of them had the same gold eyes as Alpheus over there and the same potential for power. Tristan Darktide, your ancestor, could travel deep in the Void on a whim. Nice guy, though."
"No way!" Adam protested quickly. "My mom has never mentioned demonic relatives once. We're Tredony pirates and powerful magic users, not demons."
"Who? Edana Darktide? Endless dreams of fire and blood in the desert sand? It's plausible that she doesn't know, now that you mention it. My sister's reign culminated in many dark days for the Darktides. Edana may not know. I suppose that is a secret you may want to think about telling her some day, if you think it's best."
Adam blinked, unable to process everything that was being thrown at him by the queen of this nightmare. Theo was accidentally dragging him across the realm of dreams and his family apparently had demonic ancestry and a genetic link to some sort of demigod. Was there a potential for him to become a demigod too? How did ascending to such a position work? Where you born different or did you ascend later on? If this dream wasn't so painfully realistic, Adam would have bet money on this whole thing being a terrible nightmare.
Luna shot an angry look over her shoulder where Theo was still speaking in hushed tones with Reogus.
"Well, this has gone on for far too long," she decided. "I'll have to send you home first and deal with the warlock after. It's too complicated otherwise, but don't worry, you'll see your boyfriend soon enough. I wish you two kids the best and hopefully, I won't find you wandering this plane again."
Tumblr media
With a snap of her fingers, Adam disappeared from view. He awoke in his bed, gasping for breath, looking for the strange princess he'd just been talking to.
"What the hell? Was that a dream or...."
He trailed off, looking across the room to find Theo still fast asleep in his bed.
