She’s a sweet little gal who can see duel spirits!!

luna/luka/ruka can see duel monsters spirits. she had a heavy burden placed on her when she was THREE YEARS OLD to protect the world of duel monsters spirits. as if that is enough to put on her shoulders, she's also sickly and oh yeah, they decided to also give a signer mark. she's three. she's on her death bed. she's expected to save two worlds. like this kid literally cannot catch a break. oh yeah, also her parents? they're never around. only person in her life is her twin brother, who is loud and that rubs against her autism in the wrong way. yes, she's autistic. do not argue with me. no i'm serious don't argue with me. lil miss luka has the failure to be diagnosed all weird little autistic girls are subjected. if she was a boy, y'all would see her autism for what it is but that's not the point of this rant. anyway her first time meeting yusei, she didn't care about his criminal mark because his duel monster friends said he's okay and that's good enough for her: the duel monsters said this criminal on her couch is a good guy! therefore acab. this is also the first time an adult has ever treated her like her thoughts and opinions matter, mostly because there was never an adult in her goddamn life in the first place (shout out to her parents for ABANDONING TWO TWELVE YEAR OLDS to their own fuckin devices). can't forget the fortune cup, where lua takes her place at first and LOSES IN THE FIRST ROUND, damaging her professional duel record (not like it matters because the writers decided it didn't matter what luka does after the series ANYWAY so who cares if her record is damaged :) ). she gets dragged in anyway and tortured by a child psychologist - classic weird autistic girl moment. during this she has a vision of the duel monster world and realizes oh yeah this is real, i'm supposed to protect this, and like. CANNOT. CATCH. A SINGLE. BREAK. aki takes an interest in luka because of her powers too! all while divine is a tool to her brother and she's forced to watch divine torture her brother :) awesome stuff. literally. cannot catch a fuckin break. next season her first duel is a loss against some weird kid from the future, and her second duel is against aporia where she literally dies (her brother brings her back to life). she is a character of untapped potential and deserves the world. vote for luka.

Anzu Mazaki

the original It Girl, very underrated anzu masaki is stubborn. she’s all about friendship and she believes in you soooo much. she’s the type to give you a lecture while picking you up because she’ll never leave you stranded but you should take better care of yourself. she has dreams of being a dancer and takes that risk in moving to whole different COUNTRY to follow her dreams. vote for anzu!!!

Hiiii!!! Thank you for the ask and it's on one of my favorite things right now!

Okay, when I first watched Yugioh 5d's when I was younger, I was pretty lukewarm about it. Not really enjoying it but not really disliking it. But I decided to rewatch it this year and well, my opinion changed! I love it!

I mostly love it for it's characters! Out of all the YGO series, the cast of 5d's is definitely my favorite! I see the story as kind of like a teeter totter. The highs are very high (Dark Signer arc and Crash Town arc) The lows are very low (The WRGP arc).

I love this Anime so much, I bought all the games for it (Tag force 4 and 5, The three championship DS games.... I'm unstoppable with Blackwings, Scrap or Gusto in my hands).

You mentioned Primo has friends who care about him very much in the last Pizza AU ask, so I'm very curious as to who these friends are. Are they canon Yugioh characters, or OCs?

I think it'd be very funny if he was inexplicably friends with the Zexal kids. It's giving "introvert who was adopted by an extrovert + their friend group" kinda vibes.

my ygo spinoff 'real world AUs' (pizza AU, college AU) and my bestie @clarktozolt 's MOTHER college AU take place in the same Kansan town, and through a series of primarily pizza and sword related events Primo's inadvertently become pals with clark's AU Lucas, Claus, and Kumatora from Mother 3. He still isn't entirely sure how he got adopted into the fold of these Very Nice People and he's a little scared by how earnest and kind they are but I think they do him some good.

Claus is his roommate and they are BFFS!!!! These two completely unrelated characters have a surprisingly amount of character/theme overlap but we're the only people who have realized this and now we spread the truth. They play swords together now. They're the autism/adhd solidarity dynamic duo. They have two eyes and three arms between them.

we love them SO much.

HE IS ALSO ACTUALLY friends with, Some zexal kids. He's getting there :3c Alito and Girag live in the same apartment complex as Primo and Claus, and Primo and Alito have been hitting it off (as. much as primo can "hit it off" with anyone dfghsg). Sometimes they go box at a local gym together!! (sidenote in tag force Primo has a mild fondness for boxing gloves, which I just think is so charming. ;w;)

we also um. made Claus cousins with A Certain Zexal Character (🥕) so you can imagine the occasional mistaken identity antics that are happening in that apartment complex. Primo's six degrees of separation from half of the Zexal guys really is only like. two degrees lol

Why is Studio Bridge obsessed with copying Rian Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy? Zexal had realistic win-loss ratios for females like Anna and Rio and it's the most popular spin-off spin-off in Japan isn't it?

Because it's 2022 and it's more profitable to be more inclusive. "Go woke, don't go broke". People who prefer inclusion have the money.

There's no such thing as 'realistic' win-loss ratios for female characters.

The most popular one if we base it on popular of MCs is GX with Judai, but that's because it was the second show. But it doesn't really matter as YGO has basically always had 20 to 25% of the market share in Japan.

But seriously, it's 2022, there's more money in being inclusive, and the IP's been shifting to make the girls more prominent since ZEXAL or ARC-V.

Jump as a whole has more women MCs, and there's a push for the women to be cool, because people in general like cool girls as much as they like cool guys.

And even Japan is changing socially, to be less toxic to women and queer issues, slowly but surely.

"But the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy was a disaster because women", no, it was a disaster because Kathleen Kennedy didn't hard stick to a three movie plan of what the Sequels should be about and had a flimsy spine.

Even Lucas basically said that, politely, that they didn't do any pre-planning, and it shows.
