5. What’s a fic idea you’ve had that you will never write?

oooooooh. okay this is actually tricky bc i have negative impulse control and will write down anything that comes into my head it's just a matter of whether i actually finish/post it.

There's an installment of the pony club au that i could write if the people who actually read that wanted something super angsty but it would completely destroy me. it would not be a healthy fic for me to write and it is not an itch i want to scratch.

in my notes app i also have written down 'one day i should write a text-fic for yj' and that is a terrible idea and i will never do it. i can read as many text/chat fics as i like but i will never write one. if you want to imagine one, it would definitely be the version of yj in the pony club au that pull all kinds of stupid shenanigans and would definitely all go to the same uni when they grow up just so they can live together in the most insane student house (i would not want to live in that student house).

There was a reason their skyloftian was titled a god-slayer. 

Legend was down, bathing in his own blood, the horrible red liquid seeping into the soaked battle-ground, his eyes unseeing and open even through something Warriors couldn’t find the courage to name. The captain saw Sky’s eye twitch before it filled with white, pupils not even visible. 

There was a reason he was titled a god-slayer. 

Sky stared intensely at the Yiga that’s cleaver was now dripping with blood. The air seemed to slow down as the chosen stepped forward slowly, spinning his sword in his hands, the whites of his eyes glowing and he cocked his head slightly at the Yiga’s sudden trembling. Warriors nearly forgot that he had his own enemies to fight. He stabbed the foot-soldier trying to attack him and quickly looked back. Sky stared blankly at the Yiga Blade-master before smiling. It wasn’t a smile like the ones he shared with his brothers and friends. It was a smile, a warning, a creepy threat. 

“You shouldn’t have done that. I am Link, God-Slayer, Knight of Skyloft, Hero of the Skies and you will die painfully to my hand. You should not have killed my son.”

The skies grew dark and stormy clouds formed, rain pouring forth and soaking everything even more, making the blood pool Legend was lying in spread even further. There was a quick moment, where Warriors saw the Blade-master step back. Sky came swiftly, faster than anyone could’ve suspected. He brought an onslaught of slashes that chipped the Yiga’s cleaver and cut the mask clean in half, revealing a man underneath, who was sweating profusely as he continued to try and rescue himself from Sky’s relentless pursuit. 

There was a reason their skyloftian was titled a god-slayer. 

When the Yiga was down on the ground, trapped under Sky’s boot, the skyloftian met the eyes of the Blade-master and his fingertips crackled with lightning. Then, a barrage of lightning rained down on both Sky, whose pupils had flashed with the reflection of the lighting and the pinned Yiga. The captain cried out in worry and he knew he wasn’t the only one. 

But through the dust he could see piercing, glowing white eyes without pupils, staring straight into the distance. When the dust settled the skyloftian was standing, looking a bit burnt but not entirely, while the Yiga was in the ground, nothing more than a figure covered in ash and fire. Sky kicked the Blade-master until he was sure the foe was dead and then turned his blank gaze onto the rest of the Yiga. They all fled in the blink of an eye, horrified of the God-Slayer’s wrath. 

There was a reason their skyloftian was titled god-slayer. 

He saw that Sky was still not returning to his normal state and he ran over and clutched the skyloftian’s shoulder firmly. “Chosen, snap out of it please. The rest of them are gone.”

Soon the storm cleared and Sky’s eyes stopped glowing, blue pupils rolling back as if they had never disappeared in the first place. “…Captain?” 

“Yeah,” Warriors let out a breathy chuckle. “That was one hell of a move.”

“Yeah, I—Legend!” Sky gasped. “LEGEND!” 

The captain cursed under his breath and followed Sky in a rush over to where Legend was lying. He looked peaceful. Almost like he was sleeping. Tears dripped from Sky’s eyes and stained the veteran’s pale face. Wars felt the warm wetness stream down his cheeks too. “My son…” Sky choked on a sob. “Please someone tell me we can revive him?” 

There was silence. 

All was quiet, even the sounds of nature. The birds did not sing, the wind did not blow, the plants did not rustle. 

“Mark my words,” Sky’s voice wavered with horror, grief, and fury. “I will hunt down every last Yiga until each one of them have died knowing they killed one of mine.” 

It was a vow.

A vow from a God-Slayer.

would sleep right up against ur bedroll every night if u let him, likes when you commit to the cuddle (even if he goes a little red), like wrapping arms + legs around him, adores fireside cuddles, has said on multiple occasions that nothing makes him feel safer than holding onto you, and how he can’t go back to doing things like this on his own anymore 😭😭😭

his favorite cuddle is whatever you give him LMAO u can always count on Wild if your ever feeling like u need to cuddle smth blonde and cute lol - he constantly offers or initiates it himself <33 )

Sky

another unsurprising one, his favorite time to cuddle is when it’s cold outside, or windy, and he can just get under a blanket and take a nap with you,

esp if it’s both and he can convince you to lay partially on him for heated + weighted human blanket purposes, he’s literally staring at you with sparkles in his eyes as soon as a breeze goes by lol

his Loftwing/Crimson wasn’t rlly able to fly u long distances u find out!! :( Hylians are just so light that ofc that explains why they can ride these pelican/ostrich creations for hours, whereas the bird can only rlly manage 20 minutes of low flying with you (+ Sky) on its back, but that’s fine, bc u figured out how to “shield surf” rlly fast down slopes to keep up with Sky flying low, and by “shield surfing” i mean, shocking Wild into jaw-dropped silence as he watches you fly by completely barefoot 👍

(after all, ur skin has to be pretty tough/thick to be able to handle the weather/environmental conditions, and finding out u can withstand lava? yeah this is nothing turns out)

secretly loves piggyback rides, but never asks, u just see him get this look in his eyes, and shuffling in place just behind you lol

Wind

touch starved, but what Link isnt lol

his favorite is piggyback rides, since he was raised by his grandma, and there weren’t a whole lot of close, young adults to pick him up as a kid

so now, he takes FULL advantage of u being able to easily pick him up lol

one time u guys were going uphill while a pleasant breeze was blowing-

actually it was gale force winds.

but ur you, so it took Wind flying backwards into you to realize. he also screeched at you for “ABANDONING ME- YOURE GONNA MAKE ME, A LITTLE GUY LIKE ME, CRAWL UP THIS?? HOW COULD YOU-” you give him piggy back rides whenever it’s windy.

will treat u like his own personal ship whenever ur both in the water, which consists of him yelling sailor terms like “turn starboard! raise the sails!” while sitting on ur shoulders while u get slammed (gently buffeted, really) by waves

accidentally squeezed ur arm muscles one time when he saw u doing that thing where u curl ur arm and Wind/Wild were able to hang off of it,

you both just stared at each other for a solid minute before his ears turned down and he went completely red and apologized profusely for 5 minutes, before you just scooped him up too lmao (his face after tho)

depending on the cuddle he gets shy sometimes, even worse if more than 1 Link is looking at you two, in which he will attempt to escape ur arms.

silly man just doesn't think of his needs including affection/emotional comfort,

he only rlly initiates when the circumstances are dire, like gale force winds that he can barely walk thru/starting to slip, desert heat getting to him thru his armor and needs ur cooling touch, etc.

he keeps it as professional as he can, like wrapping an arm around ur shoulders, but you just snatch him by the waist and pick him up half the time, was surprised at first, chain giggled at him, then complained lightly, finally just accepted his fate anytime he touches you lol,

YES you have given him a piggyback ride, when a flood of water burst a dam during a battle/the other Links got out but Time didn't bc of his heavy armor,

so u yoink him up and just stood ur ground against the raging waves and climbed a rock until u weren't submerged anymore, poor guy was so worn out from the battle + the flood that he just let you carry him all the way until u camped for the night, and secretly took a nap 😭

like Legend he can be convinced to rely on u when he’s already vulnerable like sleepy/tired/injured/sick, but he does find himself secretly appreciative someone in the group can just lift his heavy ass in full armor/or someone else if it gets bad enough,

got converted and no longer has to be convinced usually, he just doesn't initiate much so u have to lol

He actually got the closest to pissing his armor he ever has in all of his battles bc he forgot abt the metal in the storm = bad idea, until it was too late and u guys were trying to retreat to regroup, bc there were too many black-bloods, only to get full body tackled by you to avoid getting hit by lightning.

You had to bridal carry him for a minute after bc u just got back up after being hit, (it just felt like you rubbed ur body on the carpet and touched a metal wall, like a full body small static shock) bc he was in such a state of literal horror/shock,

Wars saw your life flash before his eyes 💀

Twilight

HA HA HA- HE NEEDS THE LEAST AMOUNT OF CONVINCING LMAOOO

goofy wolf man has wolf instincts that help ur case as to Why You Need to Pet Twilight’s Hair and Hold His Hand at All Times if Possible.

main reason Twi’s here is bc he thinks his height + weight = him not needing u to hold onto/cuddle as much, and he would be proven wrong HA

actually gets all blushy/shy anytime u pick him up, freezes like a puppy who’s gotten scruffed too lol

likes a lot more casual touch/cuddles, like arm around ur shoulder or his, sitting with legs touching, leaning against u when he’s cold, etc.

omfg funniest thing abt Wars/Time/Twi is that they’re the tallest out of the Links, so they make for extra fun when picking them up, cuddling etc.

but the best thing ever happened one time when Twi was still recovering from the Shadow’s wound, it got reopened/ached so bad he couldn’t run, but u all were trying to retreat at the moment bc Big Boss,

and u just snatched him up into a piggyback ride, his legs comically sticking out, but the best part was that Hylians are light.

so you were able to run full tilt adrenaline powered run, to the point you surpassed the other Links ahead, and had everyone laughing and simultaneously trying to conserve their breath to keep running LMAO

Twi grew up tall/bigger than kids his age, and is another victim of “no adult figures to pick him up when he was younger”, so he gets this little giddy smile when u pick him up lol <3

the first time u put him in a bridal carry for smth like river rushing waters, mans blushed, stuttered abt smth the whole time, and then didnt let go after you tried to put him down, u didnt have the heart to insist, so u just carried him around half of the day 😭

But Shin is really unexperienced, he never had a serious partner or experienced any kind of strong love before he met you.

He even asked Sakamoto for advice! Isn’t he the cutest??

During the first weeks of the relationship compliments were not his best card… he tried okay? but he ended up embarrassed and all red… he really wants to be able to do that but he’s lacking confidence.

Dates with Shin are AMAZING!! In everything he does, you can just feel his love for you and how deeply he cares about you.

One time, you two were walking together in a park and he spotted some pretty white flowers. He decided to put one behind your ear, but he did it so gently that you worried you were going to melt under his touch. And the way he was staring at you?? You died instantly.

Shin is very embarrassed by it but you love his family and you understand that they just want to protect him.

Taro and Aoi love you and approve of your relationship with their “son.” They even invite you to go on family trips with the whole family, and you have to admit, those are the BEST family trips ever! Not only you spend time with your beloved clairvoyant boyfriend, but you also meet and have the chance to bond with his family.

You and Lu prank him a lot, and every time he scolds her and not you, because honestly, he can’t be mad at you.

Introduced you to Natsuki and Akira and honestly they couldn’t believe that he got a partner as pretty as you! He was both flattered and offended by that comment…

Honestly I think a part of your relationship includes you taking care of him. Since you know what happened during his childhood, whenever possible, you take the opportunity to hug him and whisper sweet nothings in his ear. He loves and deeply cherishes those moments.

Overall 10/10 experience WOULD RECOMMEND!! nice guy with a nice family?? i’m in!

of course i had my makeup bag. it never leaves my backpack actually.

azzi had only done my makeup a few times before, and it really does look better when she does it. but that's not the reason i asked her.

i've known azzi's signature lip gloss since we were sixteen. i've lost count of how many tubes i've gone through myself, telling myself it was just because i liked the flavor. but deep down, i knew.

the shade, the shine, the scent, it all belonged to her.

i guess i just wanted her on my lips.

something about the way she put it on me made my stomach flip.

azzi always gets this really serious look on her face when she was focused. it's especially apparent when she's on the court. once i see her put that face on, god bless anyone who comes in her way.

her consistency followed her off the court also. her fixed gaze on my lips when she applied my makeup. immersed in her own concentration, i took the time to study her.

i knew pretending to "forget" my makeup bag would give me time to admire her. as this being our last game, i don't know how many of these moments we have left.

and just when i had my opportunity...i froze. being with azzi sometimes made it feel like time was standing still. but this, this was different.

i'm still not over it. her lips meeting my skin, her soft breath against my face, the smell of her perfume.

i could melt in her arms if she let me.

following her out of tunnel, i licked a bit of her lip gloss off the side of my mouth.

that's one way to taste her.

lazily, i let my eyes outline her body as she walked with a swift confidence.

i can't believe i left her clueless. my sweet, shy girl finally made a move and i gave her nothing??

i need to say something to her, but my mind is blank, tongue-tied by the weight of her kiss.

azzi's pov:

i sped out of the tunnel trying not to think about how awkward i was. paige trails behind me, walking a bit faster to try to keep my pace. 

i can't believe myself. i've gone years without acting on these types of thoughts. and now, on our last game and i went and made it awkward. what if i made her uncomfortable? and here i was calling her the softie...

just then, i get that familiar feeling—the same one i get when paige is about to pass to me on the court. even when she's not looking, i can feel her burn for me. i know she’s about to say something, i can almost feel the words form on her lips.

i reach the end of the tunnel, where fans scream and whistle. finally catching up, paige walks shoulder to shoulder with me.

the sound of shoe soles on the court, chirping like morning birds. booming chants and whistles blend together in an overwhelming mass. herds of fans reach for her, arms outstretched in longing. the amount of times they chant her name, it starts to feel like it's not even a real word anymore. their rhythmic chorus engulfing everything around us.

my gaze shifts to her face. and just like that—everything stops.

the same noise that was pulsing through me just moments ago quiets to a soft hum. but with the look on paige's face, you'd think she couldn’t even hear them at all. a slight smile across her lips, the kind of smile you’d miss if you blinked. her eyes flicker across my face as if searching for something.

paige's pov:

every time i look at azzi it's like seeing her for the first time.

my ribs cave in like a dying star, heartbeat pounding. my body sings for her.

her beauty is devastating. it wrecks me every time.

she parts her lips slightly when she catches me staring. all i can hear is the stillness in her breath. soothing like a lullaby, she inhales sharply pulling me in with just a breath.

i quickly shift my gaze the crowd before she can meet my eyes. 

“PAIGE, OVER HERE. I'M YOUR BIGGEST FAN,” a college aged girl shouts. 

i look up to see a girl decked out in head-to-toe uconn merch. my jersey across her chest as she leans down to me.

i absolutely adore my fans, it gets exhausting at times but i’d never let them see it.

i reach up to sign the girl's jersey. she’s rambling about something but i’m only thinking about how azzi is standing right behind us. i feel bad for being inattentive but i don’t want to waste a minute tonight not looking at her.

especially not when she looks this good.

i feel the muscles in her hand relax, and she lets me sink further, slightly interlacing our fingers. finally giving me an inch of surrender. before i can get a grip on her hand, geno turns around. with a swiftness that stings, azzi snaps her hand back into her lap.

i have to take a moment to adjust from her absence. her warmth slowly leaves my hand and i swear i feel my bones ache for her.

azzi’s pov:

paige reaches up to sign her jersey, resting a hand respectfully atop the girls chest. 

a jealousy submerges my mind as i watch, flooding my veins. it's instinctive and all-consuming. i hate the way i want to pull them apart. knees locked, i'm paralyzed by my own envy, choking on words i have no right to say.

you’d think i’d be accustomed to this by now but i’m not. paige is so deserving of all the love she gets from her fans. they see a small part of what i’ve seen in her since we were fifteen. but that’s the part of her i don’t want to share.

sometimes i just wish i could have her all to myself. i know she’s not even mine to keep.

i take a deep breath and try to control my expressions but i break when i see her wink at the girl. my brow creases slightly and i feel my breath stop. my face must have reflected my anger because the girl looks at me confused.

i snap my eyes to the floor and speed walk towards the bench.

It had been a few weeks since you and your boyfriend, Luke, became first time parents together to your daughter, Skylar. She was beautiful and getting to have this child with him was more wonderful than you ever could’ve imagined.

However, you didn’t truly anticipate how much hard work it would be to care for her, attend to her needs when she was upset and to make sure she always got what she needed.

The hardest part was figuring out what she wanted. Grown people can communicate and tell others what they need, whereas a baby can’t speak. They can’t specify what it is that’s making them so upset.

Some days had been better than others. Skylar would be happy with being fed, getting her diaper changed, wanting to take an extra nap. It was all good.

Today and especially tonight had been particularly bad. You were sure she cried for most of the day. You tried feeding her, but she didn’t want food. Went to change her diaper but it didn’t need changing. Tried rocking her to sleep just for her to continue to cry.

Once it got to almost three in the morning, Luke had asked if you needed help with anything. Which you politely declined and told him to get to bed.

It was only by morning that Luke realized that you never came to bed. Your half was empty when he woke up, leaving him wondering what had happened.

He found you next to Skylar’s little bed, in your feeding chair, sound asleep. You’d fallen asleep after hours of not being able to get your baby to sleep.

Luke was going to leave you, when he noticed Skylar moving, and next she started the crying.

You woke suddenly, looking around the room frantically. Seeing Luke first who had a sympathetic look on his face, and next you heard your crying baby.

After a long sigh, you stood up, reaching to pick Skylar up, laying her in your arms as you sat back down to rock her back and forth.

“What is it, Skylar?” You asked, voice almost breaking. “I fed you not long ago, baby, I don’t know what else to do.”

Luke recognised the look on your face immediately, you were going to start crying too if he didn’t do something to help.

He walked over to you, kneeling down beside your chair. He brushed his hand across your cheek affectionately as he let Skylar take hold of one of his fingers.

“What can I do, lovie?” He whispered.

“I don’t know, Lu, I’ve tried everything, she only got to sleep an hour ago.”

“You were up all night?”

You nodded, closing your eyes in exhaustion, “She just won’t settle, this is so hard.”

Luke sighs, standing up from where he is, “Here, baby, I’ll take her from you, let me try and get her to sleep.”

“Are you sure?”

“You need to get some rest too, you haven’t had much since she was born,” he said as he’s already taking Skylar from your arms. “Gonna see if some daddy - daughter time will help.”

You watched him as he stood, rocking her gently in his arms. He looked at her lovingly, happy he gets to do this parenting thing with you, as well as worry on his face in that you’ve had no sleep and can’t get her to stop crying.

“Go to bed, babe, you need to get some sleep.”

“Are you sure?” You asked. “I can try feeding her again—“

“I’ve got this, angel,” Luke reassured. “You need the rest as much as she does, go to bed.”

You sighed, knowing he’s right, “thank you, Lu,” you kissed his cheek softly before slowly starting to leave the room. “Come get me if you need anything.”

“I’ve got this, baby,” Luke insisted. “I love you.”

“I love you, too.”

He watched as you left the room, holding Skylar in his arms. She seemed like she was in a lot of distress, making Luke worry slightly. He could do this though, right?

Luke sat in the chair you had just been in, rocking your baby back and forth, hoping she’d settle. It didn’t seem to be working as well as he’d hoped.

“Are you hungry again, Sky?” He asked, of course only getting a loud cry in response. “Come on, let’s go and feed you.”

He stood up, heading downstairs to the kitchen. He found where you’d placed a couple of feeding bottles, taking one into the living room.

Luke sat on the couch, holding Skylar as you would. He tries placing the bottle close to her mouth, hoping she’d latch onto it, but instead she turns her head away.

“No? Not hungry, bubba?” He tries one last time, with no good result. “Okay, um, I’ll check your diaper.”

He stood up again, placing the bottle where it was before, heading upstairs to Skylar’s room to get a clean diaper to change her.

He lays her down, shushing her softly to try and calm her. He found her favourite stuffed animal to hold onto, which seemed to help slightly.

Luke starts working on her diaper, frowning slightly, “yea, definitely needed a change.”

After placing a fresh diaper on her, she stopped crying. He sighed in relief. Maybe that was the reason she seemed in such distress again.

“Now let’s get you to sleep,” he holds her in his arms, rocking her until her eyes are closed and she seemed to go to sleep.

He reached down into her bed, placing her down gently along with her favourite stuffie. For the first time since she started struggling, she’s peacefully asleep.

Luke smiled to himself. Happy he could get Skylar to settle down. He cautiously starts to creep out of the room, pulling the door in just slightly.

A few steps down the hall, ready to go and make himself some food… he heard cries. Baby cries. You weren’t kidding when you said you couldn’t get her to settle.

He rubbed his forehead, going straight back to Skylar’s room. She was on her back, wailing, tears rolling down her face.

“What’s wrong, Sky?” Luke wiped her tears away with the gentle pads of his thumbs before picking her up. “I don’t know what I can do.”

Luke sat down in the soft chair. He rocked her around again, having no results. He gave her the pacifier she always used, she spat it right out.

He wondered how you’ve done this since giving birth. Luke had been here for support, but you’d done most of the work so far.

Putting her to bed, feeding her, changing diapers. He’d changed a few diapers, but hadn’t done much else. This was his first time attempting to care for Skylar all by himself.

He didn’t want to disappoint you, he wanted to figure this out without having to get you for help. Plus, he knew you needed your rest.

Luke leaned his head back against the chair, closing his eyes to think. He hummed to himself, trying to figure this out.

And then it came to him.

“I’m on my way to wonderland, take off my suit and wander in,” he started softly singing one of his own songs. “For a moment, or stay for a lifetime.”

To his disbelief, Skylar started to quieten down. Her crying almost completely stopping. Luke smiled.

She reached up, Luke holding out his hand. She took hold of his index finger in her little palm, looking up at him intently with her beautiful blue ocean eyes, just like his.

“I’m on my way to wonderland,” he continues singing. Watching as Skylar’s eyes started to close. “Take off my suit and wander in.”

He cautiously stood from the chair, reaching to place her in her bed again. This time, he continued singing this sweet melody to keep her settled.

It did work. He got through at least half of a song to ensure she would stay asleep while he stayed near her. What he didn’t hear, was you in the doorway.

“You sound beautiful, Lu,” you whispered.

Luke immediately turned to you. Seeing the soft smile on your face. He waved his hand for you to join him, letting you sit on his lap, your head leant against his shoulder.

“I think we just found our way to get her to sleep,” you looked at your daughter, the most peaceful she’s seemed for the past few days. “You may have a new fan.”

“Well, that’s because she’s your daughter,” Luke leaned slightly, pressing a kiss to your forehead.

“Our daughter.”

Luke smiled at that. Happy to be doing this with you. To be living this life together, to have this family together.

You couldn’t be more thankful for Luke, always here for you, always finding new ways to help out. As he discovered today.

This show had me from the moment they broke the egg yolk with the chopsticks in the opening credits for episode one. It’s about a younger man with a long cherished crush on his boss (ten years older and going through a mid life crisis) who decides to save and seduce said man with pancakes. It’s wholesome, comforting, sexy, and a very necessary narrative about still having hope, interests, and openness to affection at any age. It’s coming of age/queerness packaged in a subtle critique of expectations around masculinity and love and loneliness... and it’s beautiful. Full review.

Sib is quite a bit younger than Gene and defines aggressive pursuer. Gene is out of university and established in his career, Sib is still in college.

Thailand criticizes itself and the BL industry while simultaneously giving us classic seme/uke with great chemistry in a one-two punch of “we love it, but are we supposed to? and must we think this hard, yet enjoy it SO MUCH?” This show won’t appeal or make sense to those who don’t already have at least some Thai BL watching experience. What Lovely Writer does, at heart, is reexamine Thai BL has done to queerness, but in a very gentle way that has more to do with Thai BL growing up than any actual queer authenticity. It’s not parody or pastiche, but it is self reflective and trying to correct for some chronic mistakes. Whether it is ultimately successful in this matter is going to depend on the watcher’s relationship to BL and queer identity. But that’s what makes this show beautiful, interesting, and thought provoking. And I, for one, applaud the effort even if I didn’t personally connect to the characters.

Thailand’s first real stab at this dynamic as a main couple and it so worked for me. There are many who find this BL too slow and wooden, but I loved it. 

I think of this as a paragon of Thailand’s softer BL style, since Oxygen uses every BL trope in the playbook for one of the gentlest lowest angst BLs ever made. This one showcases how far Thailand is moving BL from its yaoi roots, and is a prime example of the sweet “new BL” model for which Thailand is the main advocate (Korea is liking it a lot these days too, tho). My first watch along.

Guess who started this trope in Thailand? Yeah, sometimes I forget too. But they are not just classic sunshine/tsunder but classic younger/older. Just not by much.

Bonus on this one, there is some very high (and it's Taiwan so) very well done heat. That said, the main couple will, in fact, wreck your psyche for life. Proceed with caution.

Side could (and only good part of this show) SanAei are a classic uni age gap pairing. San is a bit of a spoiled rich kid jock who identifies the older nerd character as HIS and is just like, MINE. That’s MY elder gay. 

Brothers (KhunKaow) 

This is not a good show, but side couple Khun & Kaow are great in it. Khun is in university and Kaow has a small baking business.

Top Secret Together and Love By Chance both have sub plots of high school boys pursuing college ones, but the one didn’t go anywhere and the other went very very bad, so yeah… no. Although I would personally LOVE to see this done well.

Based on a y-novel by Faddest (En of Love) about an engineering student and a dentist (shocker). This is just a soft sweet cotton candy fluff piece about a younger boy who pursues an older boy and then manufactures silly gay drama. Nothing wrong with that. But I don’t think this style of BL really appeals to a very large market share. Will I rewatch it? Sure. Will anyone else? Nope.

If you want your endlessly indulgent older gay, this is the you crack, they made if for you.

It’s not really relevant to the story, but Tan is younger. Not only that, he’s Bun’s friends younger brother. Bun is very indulgent, but in a grown up way.

I like MoD a lot but I’m conflicted over it being actual BL. It’s a great gay romantic suspense, although the mystery element is its weakness. MaxTul, the Kings of chemistry, are, of course, perfect and perfectly cast, but their romance thread is more a distraction than an addition. Still, I could watch them make-out the phonebook. Watch along here. 

Seven Days

AKA Seven Days: Monday-Thursday AND Seven Days: Friday-Sunday Japan

Seryou kinda counts as the pursuer, but the dynamic is very very weak in this one. Still the way he asks to use Yuzuru’s first name (so CHEEKY) and the way he says “senpai” in SUCH a cute way makes me so happy. And Yuzuru is NOTHING is not indulgent, it kinda defines his character. I mean he just LETS him call him by his FIRST name... right away.

Never doubt my ability to recommend this show. One of the best live action yaois ever made, with perfectly structured angst, fantastic characters and acting, and no problematic tropes (rare in Japanese BL). The leads have excellent chemistry although it’s low heat there’s still some really cute mutual kisses.

Seme uke is VERY weak with this one but the younger character is certainly the pursuer. It’s SO GOOD. 

Lin Pei Yu directs this is a sports romance (volleyball) with a good boy/bad boy pairing, and mu favorite of the HIStory franchise. There is no clear seme/uke. Ostensibly it's high school set but Taiwan doesn't care about age appropriate actors. It's a very soft sweet romance with some ridiculously easily overcome conflict. There's great kisses but it's medium heat. The side dishes are the stepbrother trope but they’re very tame, and there’s no other triggers. It's not just my favorite of the franchise, it’s one of my favorite BLs with a perfect happy ending.

Kiseki: Dear to Me

The mains are a major age gap, but I always forget because they def don't look it. Also, Taiwan, so very weak seme/uke. Still there is age gap, he's in high school and our gangster is out of college and in the workplace.

The plot is totally ridiculous and slightly unhinged, but that’s normal for Taiwan. It involves all the tropes under a very casual framework of gay mafia gangs + food = love. Absolutely every character is queer. There’s a gum-ball machine of cameos, elder gay rep, great chemistry from all pairs, and a KILLER side couple. As a result Kiseki is a poster child for Taiwanese BL, and I happen to love Taiwanese BL. Bonus? They also managed to END IT WELL, which we cannot expect from Taiwan.

Unknown is a wonderful BL with a pitch perfect portrayal of long term pining, age gap, and the stepbrothers trope. The acting and chemistry are ON POINT (especially from the leads) which made the resulting characters very believable. When it dwells in intimate family drama, it's stunning. It's slightly less successful when it leaves the home and goes gritty. Still, those are mere quibbles. This is an excellent show, one of Taiwan' s best.

As you see above I mostly had to take you to Japan and Thailand for this one. Considering your preferences try Japan first, it's closer in DNA to Taiwanese stuff, but it won't go as high heat. If you want the heat, you'll need to try the Thai stuff (or the ones from Taiwan you haven't seen). I would start with Lovely Writer.

Okay I think I have given you enough and, unless I miss my guess, I may have tempted you to try some Japanese BL.
