so i wanted to rant about this like an hour ago because of the way i am as a person, but didn't want to latch onto a reblog. so i'm making my own post about this!

looonnggg rant below i get very emotional very easily

so!! this has probably been shown to hell and back, but i'm still gonna talk about this cuz... wtf

now one of my main problems with the thumbnail paired with the title is the fact that things like "oc x canon," "yume," and "f/o" are slapped in there. maybe it's just my stupid ass, but it's sort of coming across as the act of selfshipping itself and the vocabulary used along with it is "going too far."

that's the BASICS of selfshipping. those terms are used in perfectly normal contexts. there is rarely, maybe even never, a time when those terms have gone too far.

next. i'll admit, i did not watch the video. i don't plan to for this rant. but apparently, it is about situations in which selfships had become ACTUALLY harmful to those involved.

so the thumbnail is very obviously clickbait.

but why?? the situations themselves would have been enough to get people talking, but tacking on innocent terms to get some views is at the very least, kind of just mean, and at the worst, actually harmful to our community!!

instead of churning out ragebait to get a few clicks, why can't you just make your thumbnails ACTUALLY interesting to draw people into what you have to say? because ragebait will only make people upset enough to drive them away.

i'm definitely overreacting. whatever. this has been stewing in my brain for like an hour.

I ment to make post of them a LOOONNGGG while ago!

These are ref designs I made for the "Uncanny Critters" au by a good friend of mine. @lunadogsoul

Each critter is heavily based on different horror movie genres. Two designs i volunteered to help with is Slasher(catnap) and Cosmic(Dogday) horror

This is Celestial Hound(dogday), he is Heavily based off 'The Thing' from the 1982 film

(Featuring height comparison to average human)

And Next, This is Catparalysis(Catnap), he is heavily based off Freddy Krueger from the 1984 film "Nightmare on Elm Street"

(Featuring a more nightmarish design and usual form, a scorpian ended tail to put victims in a 'paralysis' state)

Finally, The Painted Demon(Crafty Corn). Based around more 'Summonings' or 'Possession' kind of horror

(Reasoning of dancing? We first joked about it but now she's Catparalysis's wife (: )

Bonus!:

Here is also further ref designs for the Celestial hounds, but the femalrle varient of the species called the Void Hound(also including pups for yalls mini bean loving hearts)

(And yes, you guessed it, it is based off of Dogpressed. The Frowning critters ARE in this au as well, and the Nightmare Critters in recent concepts)

The Void hounds are only slightly shorter compared to celestial hounds but they can make themselves larger in size in order to defend themselves or pups. Pups are about the size of a toddler when really young

Hello!! I will sure do my best, though unfortunately the archives of my mind are not what they once were. I have a long masterpost of recs, which I will update once I've posted this rec as well, but lemme think.

I'll disclaim off the bat that many of the super popular longfics in this fandom are not exactly my cup of tea, and I also haven't read a lot of the newer stuff, so the recs you will get from others don't necessarily match up to the ones you'll get from me. That said, I know @tathrin is actively writing right now and their writing is fantastic, so I feel comfortable reccing their longfic without having read it!

As far as classics: one fandom classic is Adina's Back to the Beginning series, a universe where Gimli is reincarnated over and over again in a gift from Mahal, and @daisyfornost's response Aulë's Gift. These two combined get you to almost 100k and there is sex!

I want to rec two fics by Angela on AO3, From Forest to Sea, which is a short vignette series with some of the most gorgeous writing ever, and The Undying, which is HEARTBREAKING and I do truly have to warn you that it might hurt you a LOT.

A medium-sized fic with no sex, but one that I believe is a classic EVERYONE should read, is On The Cold Hill Side by marycrawford. Pining, lush sensory detail, and it manages to be slow burn despite not taking all that much time, counted in hours/days.

For some very good smut, I'd recommend Unwilling and Travelling Bodies by lordnelson100, as well as a lot of @katajainen's writing, and @deheerkonijn's. Actually read any of their writing! Also anything by @enide-s-dear if you want to cackle. @the-dwelf-ao3 has a range of fic lengths and I recommend all of their work as well.

This is not as comprehensive a list as I could have once given you, and for that I am sorry! But these are still some standouts, and I hope you find them a good place to start and dive deeper - and have fun with the fandom!

after 8 years of being in the underdog fandom, i finally did the thing: i made a "bittersweet" polly; a girlie to go with taptap!

GUESS WHAT... I THINK I DID IT!!!

It has been so long since I have posted here. I started this blogging so that I can share my thoughts (truest thoughts) of how I feel during this journey of preparing for the JEE exam and its aftereffects. If you see my previous post, it would have sounded depressing as hell. But I am here to update you on my life. And this is going to be LOOONNGGG. so hold yourself up till the end.

So I give my JEE Advanced and when I calculate my score, it is known to be below par. Poor enough to make me forget my IIT dreams. The counseling starts, and I get production engineering from NIT, CALICUT. It is decent but not what I wanted to get. At this point, I lost HOPE in everything. Literally everything. I used to pray to god like crazy but then I didn't bother to pray at all. I thought I was not going to college this year. I will study for one whole year again to give JEE the next year. To see my friends get into the nicest colleges, I felt really really LOST (I am being real).

Though my parents were disappointed, they were still trying to boost my morale. They took me to a temple and I did some rituals and poojas but with literally NO HOPE. Every night I cried about how much of a fool I was on this journey to have wasted my potential.

But then one evening, I think I was watching a series or something. Maybe B99 (which u guys should definitely watch). My parents came rushing through my door only to say " YOU GOT INTO NTU." (In case you're wondering, NTU is in Singapore and is one of the finest universities in Asia). My mind just .... it just FROZE. I didn't know how to react. My mom was crying and my dad... shit even my dad was tearing up. I have never seen him that emotional in my life. But in front of my parents, I just didn't feel like expressing anything. I just acted like KAY, IT AINT A BIG THING. But it really is a HUGE thing for me. I just waited for their emotions to settle, I went into my room and took my laptop to search the god's name to whom I did the ritual and started praying and crying. At that point, I just gave god the credit for my acceptance.

YES. I got into NTU. Hell, I even completed my first semester here at NTU. Oh well, I am studying MECHANICAL ENGINEERING with a second major in DATA ANALYTICS. I think this is my happy place. I just want to say one final thing. Time is the biggest problem as well as the biggest solution (at times the ONLY SOLUTION) in a lot of scenarios. Either you use it or you wait for it to use you. In my case, I failed to use but it used me when it wanted to. It may not be such a big accomplishment for many, but for a guy who let down his parents, who thought he wouldn't go to college that year, who basically lost interest in life cuz his dreams went down the drain... I should say that the guy is HAPPY right now ( I am the guy if you're wondering who).

From here on, I will try to post frequently. and it may not be about JEE every time, but my name still wud be JEEOURNEY, cuz that's where it all started!!!
