I don’t expect many people to vote that they’re afraid of spiral staircases since I’m the only person I know with that fear but I felt like including it anyway
#and it is a legitimate fear of mine#not that I encounter them regularly but I avoid them at all costs#the one time I had to climb a spiral staircase I panicked the entire time#when searching for apartments I generally don’t look at lofts in case they have them#and the most harrowing scenes of The Lighthouse (2019) were scenes of characters climbing the lighthouse stairs#I don’t know why but they terrify me

Exceptionally beautiful 1971 mid-century modern in Portland, OR. 4bds, 5ba, 4,281 sq ft. $1.095m.
There's something about a floating wood-burning fireplace. They're always the perfect height.
The living room has a blue upholstered bench wall. Interesting.
Open concept living room/kitchen. Island has everything you need.
The mini bar is hidden behind the doors- Company is coming and you're not cleaned up? Shut the doors. Very cool.
Angular guest powder room.
Spiral stairs out in the hall.
Believe it or not, this home has 6 levels. They put a single person elevator in the center of the spiral stairs and look at how they numbered the floors.
Beautiful family room with nice big fireplace. Love the blue tile. Look at the loft above. This home has stunning architectural detail.
Here we are up in the loft where there's a lovely small sitting space and a home office/work space.
There's also a deck up here.
And, you can see down to the kitchen.
Beautiful primary bedroom with built-ins. You can see the en-suite in there.
It also has a sauna.
This room has a built-in red desk. It can be a den or a bedroom.
Not sure what this is.
This is a guest apt.
It even has its own deck.
There's a nice workshop in the garage.
The home has decks on every level.
It's totally in the trees on an 8,276 sq ft lot.

Ok bear with me here. Thinking about the wackass wedding theory they've got going on (before they moved to completely breaking down over the cast interactions) let's say they do show a bt wedding BUT it's eddie's subconscious fucking with him and he goes spiralling in said subconscious torment and tells buck not to go through with it and when asked why, he wakes up and realizes and boom that's how we get eddie feelings realization. I don't know, if they're doing wackass theories I'm going to make it work for my buddie agenda. It's so much more fun this way.
Eddie bt wedding nightmare feeling realization, I'm game. Eddie is in shambles, he's in the altar behind Buck, he's biting his nails, he needs to say something FAST, and then music starts, his time is up, Tommy is coming (we're not letting him actually be at the dream because this is my scenario and he will just haunt the narrative), he taps Buck on the shoulder, Buck looks at him all confused, "don't marry him" music gets more intense "what? Why?" Eddie looks panicked, the doors open, Buck is still waiting for him to answer "because I--" "because you?" "Because I lov--" Eddie sits up. He's in Buck's couch because he keeps sleeping over at the loft because the house feels empty, the music he was hearing is Buck with the radio low while he makes breakfast, he looks at him through the stairs, watching him still looking soft from sleep and Eddie's expression goes all soft before turning to realization, before he can process what's happening Buck turns to check if he's awake and he smiles at him before walking over with coffee but then Buck frowns at the way he's looking at him "you okay?" And Eddie shakes head before catching himself and nodding a "weird dream" and taking the mug Buck is offering him and he's watching Buck like he's seeing him for the first time and bam things click into place.
#make this the opening scene for the season kspskapakpakaa#lol#buddie#i really need a tag for asks#anon 😌

CHAPTER TWO
Racing AU
After the excitement of the track wears off, Pomni's situation sinks in. She's trapped. The others try to make her feel welcome and introduce her to Kaufmo. What could go wrong?
WARNING: angst, abstraction, some violence
Ch1
The racers all filed into the garage as the NPC audience cheered their last. Caine joined them inside and snapped his fingers. All their karts teleported inside to their respective part of the open floor plan garage. There was a spiraling metal stair case to a second floor loft that lined the outer wall. Every upstairs door lead out to overlook the garage. To the far right was a lounge with comfortable looking couches and chairs and recreational activities; such as pool and table tennis.
Pomni wiped the last of the confetti off her shoulder as she looked around. "Is this...all there is?"
"Of course not!" Caine chimed in before anyone else could answer. "In between races you have full use of the practice track! Take a look!" He opened the blinds and the outside looked different. The start line was the same but the stands where empty. The track no longer led underground but instead continued to curve around the garage and looped back to the start in a perfect oval. "And inside, you can play mini games with your new friends!" Pomni stared at the others with uncertainty. "Also!" Caine pulled Pomni by the hand to an empty kart area of the garage. "You can customize your kart! Everything from the engine and tires to the body and paint! The only limit is your imagination!"
"And the game's source engine." Jax added. "I've already tested that. He won't let you add more that five accessories to the kart or you end up clipping into the void."
"The...void?" Pomni paled.
"Now, Jax. We needn't bring THAT up. It's nothing to concern yourself with, my dear. There are many safety features in place to prevent that from happening. I can assure you, as host, I've never lost anyone in the void. I know all your positions at all times thanks to my wacky watch!" Caine proudly showed the small purple TV on his wrist. Six blips appeared on screen.
Caine tapped his watch. "Huh...Welp, I gotta get going! The tracks don't generate themselves! I've got to prepare for tomorrow's race! Speak to one of our Bubble assistants if you have any more questions!" Then with a pop, he was gone.
Pomni took a step back and rubbed her arms as she looked at everyone still staring at her. "Look, uh... The race was fun, but...how do I...leave?"
The others looked down or away from her. None of them wanting to be the one to tell her.
Jax groaned incredulously. "You can't. None of us can."
"Jax!" Ragatha scolded. "Why do have to be so tactless!?"
"Because there is no tact when it comes to telling someone they're stuck in digital purgatory for all of eternity, Ragatha!" He got nose to nose with her and they glared at each other.
"Please, don't fight." Gangle whimpered.
"Seriously. Will you two get a grip?" Zooble rolled their eyes and looked at Pomni. "He's right though. Welcome to your new home." Zooble then went to the pinball machine in the lounge.
"What? Why can't we leave? I don't understand. Isn't this just a game?" Pomni felt he face again for the headset she barely remembered she had on before appearing here.
"It was supposed to be just a game..." A quiet voice came from the lounge. Kinger had turned the couch cushions and pillows into a fort and was securely inside it. "People were never meant to be stuck here. Something went wrong."
Pomni got closer to the fort. "What went wrong?"
Kinger popped his head out. "What went where?"
"You'll have to excuse him." Ragatha sighed. "He's been here the longest."
"That's why he's crazy!" Laughed Jax. "That's all our fates, Pomni. Giving into the madness or being broken by it."
Ragatha grabbed a pillow and chucked it at Jax. "Go be a nuisance somewhere else!"
"My impenetrable fortress!" Cried Kinger as the missing pillow left a hole in his carefully made fort.
"Fine. I've got better things to do anyway. Like eat. Hey, Bubble chef!" Jax walked off to a table set for dining and a Bubble appeared to assist him.
Gangle got the pillow Ragatha threw and fixed Kinger's fort.
"Thank you." Kinger sighed with relief and disappeared inside.
Ragatha put a gentle hand on Pomni's shoulder. "Look...being here isn't so bad. Caine keeps us busy and we have each other." She glared at Jax. "For better or worse. There's one person you haven't met yet, he wasn't at the race today. Would you like to come with me to check on him?"
Pomni had been out of it as she really processed her situation. No way to leave. Stuck in digital purgatory. Forever. She could never go back to the life she had. Everything and everyone she had known didn't matter anymore. She vomited.
Ragatha jumped back to keep from stepping in it, but kept her hand on Pomni. She gently steered Pomni to the stairs. "Come on, Kaufmo will cheer you up. He's very good at it. Clean up!" She called out and a Bubble appeared.
"I'm on it!" The Bubble proceeded to lick up the mess. Gangle was nearly sick herself witnessing it.
Ragatha and Pomni went upstairs and walked along the long loft towards Kaufmo's room.
"Ragatha...I'm confused. Why participate in the races at all? Why not search for a way out? Are we really sure we can't leave?" Pomni said quietly.
"You aren't the first person to search for the exit, many have tried. None have succeeded." They walked past door after door. Many blank but a few had faces. Unknown faces with red Xs painted over them. "We all looked for a way out at some point or another, but we've come to accept our place here because ...well, constantly pursuing an unobtainable goal will drive you to mind breaking insanity. And when you've reached that point...there's no return."
"[@#$& !¥π∆]" Pomni muttered, the cartoonish sound effects not phasing her this time.
"...I know." Ragatha frowned and knocked on the door to Kaufmo's room. No answer. "Kaufmo? Hey, you in there? We got a new racer today! Wanna meet her?" No answer. "Huh, maybe he's not in his room?"
BOOM!
Something large and heavy hit the wall in front of them. It shook the building and got the attentions of those still downstairs.
BOOM!!
The wall around Kaufmo's door started to crack. The door itself buckling from impact.
BOOM!!!
The door flew off the wall, Ragatha and Pomni dove out of the way, missing it by inches. The door hit the railing and fell end over end to the ground floor with a loud crash. The girls looked up at the emerging creature from the broken doorframe. A beast of indeterminate dimensions snarled as it's many eyes look wildly around in their sockets.
"What is that!?"
"Remember that whole 'point of no return'? This is it! Run, Pomni!" Ragatha took off down her section of the railing. Pomni turned on her heel and ran the opposite direction. The beast tried swiping at them both, causing it to flop on the railing in front of it, crushing it. The beast roared and randomly chose to go after Pomni. Those on the ground could only watch as Pomni circle the building trying to get to the stairs.
"What's happening!?" Gangle screamed, hiding behind Zooble.
Zooble looked up in horror as they connected the dots. "Kaufmo...no."
Jax sat under the dinner table with the stack of pancakes he ordered. He sighed and took a bite. "Here we go again."
Pomni made it to the stairs before Ragatha and slid down the railing. She fumbled the landing but kept running to the door that led outside. The beast caught Ragatha at the stairs and smashed her against the wall. The janked nature of the beast made Ragatha glitch. She screamed as she was thrown around again and again, eventually being tossed over the side and landing hard on the garage floor.
The beast jumped with the intent to crush Ragatha, but Gangle's ribbon grabbed her leg and pulled her free of the impact zone. The beast came down hard and broke the floor, textures started glitching in and out.
"In here! Quick!" Kinger opened his fortress and beckoned Zooble, Ragatha and Gangle inside. They hunkered down and held each other as they heard the beast get up from its fall. It roared and started smashing at an outside wall.
"Pomni is still out there!" Ragatha was barely understandable through her glitched speech pattern. "We have to help her!"
"No! Stay out of sight. Safe." Kinger stuttered out. The bashing and crashing of the abstracted Kaufmo brought back too many memories. He curled himself in the fetal position and stared at nothing.
Zooble pulled off one of their eyes and used it to discreetly peak out. The beast was trying to break though the wall where the entrance door was. They looked around and saw Jax still under the dining table, just finishing his pancakes. "He's right. Caine's never gone for too long. We have to wait this out. ...like last time."
"And the time before that and the time before that and the time before that-" Kinger repeated.
Gangle held Zooble's hand. Despite her best brave face, she was shaking. "It's Kaufmo, isn't it?"
Zooble nodded.
Gangle started to cry. "I didn't think it'd be him next. He was always so...so..."
"Happy? Yeah, hate to break it to you, but if someone is happy all the time...they're not." Zooble put their eye back and held Ragatha's glitching hand. It made their own arm glitch but they bared the pain to be of some comfort to Ragatha.
BOOM!!
The building shook as the beast made it outside. It saw Pomni making a break for the stands and charged. Pomni ran as fast as her new little legs could go. She could see an entryway inside the stands, maybe she could hide there. Over her shoulder, she could see the beast gaining. Not looking ahead, she ran into the door and fell on her ass.
She scrambled for the door handle. The beast was nearly upon her and WHAM! She made it though the frame just in time. She got to her feet and ran in any direction away from the door. She saw some stairs with a sign that read "Announcer Booth" and she bolted up them. The higher she went the more the textures around her started to de-load.
"For [✓√@&#] sake, how tall is this tower??" She huffed. She took a moment to catch her breath when she finally made it to the top and took a look around. She wasn't in any kind of tower, in fact, it looked like she wasn't anywhere at all. Blank gridded walls and ceilings went as far as the eye could see. Unused textures and assets sparsely dotted the landscape. Peices of half built track hovered unsupported. Obstacles still in the process of being designed.
"Pomni? What are you doing here??"
Pomni screamed at the top of her lungs and swung around to see Caine hovering just feet from where she stood. Tie loose, cane, top hat, and coat missing, he looked as though he'd been very busy and she interrupted him.
"I realize you're new around here, so you didn't know, but I don't like people seeing my unfinished work. It's...well, a bit embarrassing." He cleared his non-existent throat. "You'll get a front row view of my latest creation tomorrow, I promise! I'll just send you back now."
"WAIT!"
Caine paused mid-snap.
"There's a thing outside! It attacked us!"
"Attacked? No enemies should be in bounds this late in the day."
"No, No! It was the guy! The UHHH-" Pomni struggled to remember the name in panic.
Caine gave her a look. "The 'guy'? Really now, if you just wanted an excuse to stay up here, you could have just said so. I do have a few mostly completed projects I suppose I could show you-"
"NO! THE GUY! THE CLOWN! THE- THE- KAUFMO! That's his name! Kaufmo turned into some beast and is breaking everything! He hurt Ragatha!"
"Kaufmo abstracted!? Why didn't you say so!" He grabbed Pomni's hand and teleported with her to the starting line. There they saw the beast still bashing it's head(?) against the door to the stands. He snapped his fingers and the monster started to levitate.
"Into the cellar you go." A pit opened as Caine lowered the beast down.
Pomni was floating with Caine and the pit opening made her grab his arm tightly. She watched the beast that was Kaufmo fall down into the darkness, his roar sounding like a pitiful wail as the pit closed.
"Well...that's that." Caine's usual boisterous voice came out somber as he looked down where the pit had been.
"How many times has this happened?" Pomni asked, her voice raspy from screaming.
"Too many times." Caine left it at that as he snapped his fingers again and the damage to the buildings repaired. He teleported inside with Pomni to check his charges.
"Caine! About [@#$&!] time!" Zooble grunted as they fought to keep their own composer, helping Ragatha out of the pillow fort.
"Oop-" Caine snapped his fingers and they were normal again. He then floated down to let Pomni touch solid ground again. "Sorry about that, everyone. I was looking for Kaufmo initially, his signature wasn't coming up on my wacky watch, but then I...you know, got distracted. So much work and only so much me to handle it all." He laughed nervously. "Speaking of which, I really need to get back to it. Big race tomorrow! Rest up, my little superstars!" He poofed away.
A heavy silence fell over everyone. They looked at each other, shaken over when just happened. The building was completely repaired, even Kaufmo's room. No signs that someone abstracted. Like it never happened...or mattered.
Jax stretched as he stood up from the floor. "Uuuuugh! Finally. I was tired of sitting under there."
Ragatha saw red. She stormed over to Jax and smacked him hard enough to echoe through the garage. "What the [@#$!] is wrong with you!? Kaufmo just- he- how can you take this so lightly!?" Tears burned her unbuttoned eye.
Jax rubbed his face but otherwise didn't flinch from Ragatha. "How can you take this so seriously? It's not like it's the first time it's happened. And it won't be the last." He looked down at her. "I'm going to bed, unless anyone else wants to smack the [@#$&] out of me?" No one looked at him so he pocketed his hands and went upstairs.
Ragatha broke down into sobs. Gangle tried to comfort her. Zooble couldn't handle any more and left to their room. Kinger was politely putting all of the pillows back to her original places. Pomni went to him.
"Hey, uh...Kinger, right?"
"AH! Oh, hello, didn't see you there." He yeeted the pillow he was holding when he got startled so he clasped his hands together in front of him.
"The... Kaufmo thing-"
"Abstraction." Kinger said flatly.
"Uh, yeah...how many times has it happened?"
"So many times. So many friends. So many-"
"Give me a number. Please." Pomni tried to disguise her frustration with a smile.
"Eight people started the race. Then there were seven. Then six. Then seven. Then six. Then four. Then five. Then eight. Then seven. Then six. Then five. Then six. Then five. Then six. Then seven. Then six." Kinger started to shake in place, his eyes bloodshot.
Pomni took a step back. "Yeesh, maybe you are just crazy." She looked to Ragatha and Gangle having a cry over Kaufmo. She felt awkward possibly interrupting so she went upstairs.
She followed the doors. So many Xs. So many "abstractions". Was this really their fate? To play some game forever or risk falling apart? Her mind raced as she finally saw a door with her face on it. It's big, pleading eyes staring back at her.
"I'm getting out of here. Death would be a kinder fate than this." She took one last glance at the X'd doors and went inside her room.

BUT IT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT [1.7k | post poker date spec (?) | angst with a happy ending] {ao3}
title from afterglow by taylor swift, for @singlethread enjoy
Buck feels…happy as they exit the back room, their wallets filled to the brim. There’s a buzz under their skin from winning, from the alcohol, and the good company.
Eddie orders the Uber and it’s tensely quiet as they ride through the streets of LA back to the loft. The air is charged and Eddie keeps looking at him when he thinks he’s not looking.
They make it up the stairs and into the apartment before either of them say anything really.
“Beer?” Buck asks, gently placing his jacket on the counter. Eddie hums as he takes the already offered bottle. He leaves his jacket on.
“How did you know? The seventeen seconds? Everyone told me it was three minutes. But you-“
“Because I counted all of them.” Eddie replies, biting his lip, “And those seventeen seconds lasted a lifetime Buck. And it was seventeen seconds because of me.”
Buck cocks his head, his brow scrunched.
“I- I was the one who—no one?”
“What Eddie? I may be able to do math now but I think I need you to spell this one out for me.”
Eddie bites his lip again and studies the pattern of the granite countertop.
“I was the one who brought you back to life,” he replies softly and quietly. Like it’s fragile. Like it’s admitting something else entirely.
“Oh.” Buck breathes just as soft. “I guess I never said thank you. So, thank you. I—“
“I owed you one,” Eddie replies, taking a sip of beer.
“Still. Thank you.” he says it sincerely, trying to convey every part of it to Eddie. Because if he’s honest he’s still reeling from it. There’s still a tingle under his skin. He jokes about it with Maddie. And the night in the kitchen hadn’t changed much, just given a little perspective. But he still hadn’t found his level as Dr. Salazar put it. The most at peace he had felt was with Eddie in that parking lot waiting for an Uber.
“Did you have fun?” Eddie asks, breaking the spiral, he saw it coming no doubt and pulled Buck right back out.
“Yeah, thanks for that too. It’s been a long time since I went out, got dressed up and stuff you know? And I’ve only ever played poker with Maddie.”
“You never—“ Eddie cuts himself off and clears his throat, “I'm glad. Been awhile for me too I guess.”
A silence fills every corner of the loft. Buck swears he can hear the neighbors arguing in the apartment across the hall. And he’s frozen. And Eddie steps closer.
The silence grows impossibly bigger.
And Eddie kisses him.
It’s soft and chaste and everything that a first kiss should be.
But he can’t kiss back. He can’t get his hands to move to Eddie’s hips. Can't open his mouth to make room for Eddie’s tongue. He almost wants to cry. And a small whimper escapes. He wishes he could explain it. But he can’t even look at him.
“I'm sorry,” he whispers, his eyes squeezed shut.
“It's okay,” Eddie replies, placing his beer on the island, and letting his hands run over Buck's arms like receding tides as he slips away.
The door clicks shut and he presses the heels of his hands over his eyes. All he can do is strip off the suit that Eddie had shoved into his arms in a garment bag not hours ago, and crawl into bed and try to sleep. ___
“Eddito, what’s wrong?” Pepa asks as soon as she opens the door. He has his hands shoved in his sweatpants pockets. His mouth twists and he shakes his head and leans down to hug her. She kisses his cheeks like always.
“How’s Christopher?” he asks instead.
“Perfect Angelito, as always,”
“Don’t let him hear you say that,” he smiles sadly.
“I remember another Angel that had that phase.” She pats his cheek as he sits at the kitchen table and hands him his mug of coffee with a teaspoon of sugar and a dash of cinnamon.
“He’s still sleeping,” she slips into her own chair, “I met this very nice girl at the hair salon this week. She’s new in town, looking for people her own age…maybe someone to date…?”
Eddie swallows past the memory of Buck’s still lips against his.
How perfect everything had been up until that point. He swallows again, “You can give her my number,” he concedes. The acid crawling up his throat.
“Are you sure?”
He grimaces but still nods, “I should get back out there. It's been a long time since I've been on a date. It would be good to try again.”
He sips his coffee and the minutes tick by until Christopher makes his way into the kitchen.
“Mornin’ Dad,” Chris grumbles but still leans in for a hug.
“Hey kid,” he replies with a soft smile and ruffles his hair. Chris frowns a little.
“Can we go to the diner for breakfast?”
Eddie had been promising they would go for a few weeks.
“Sure. Say thank you to Pepa.”
He grumbles something that sounds a little bit like Gracias and Eddie just smiles at Pepa and she nods with understanding.
He gets a text a few days later,
Hi this is Emma, your aunt gave me your number.
They coordinate to get coffee on Wednesday morning after his shift.
On Monday he asks Buck if he can get Chris to school on Wednesday morning.
“What are you going to be doing?” Chimney asks as they hope the bell doesn’t ring in the last few minutes of their shift.
Eddie glances at Buck a little nervously, “I um, I’m going on a date. My aunt set us up.”
Chimney’s mouth snaps shut over a retort after Hen lightly slaps his arm. But it’s Buck who takes off, the glass he was drying hitting the counter close to dangerously hard, saying something about getting a head start on his shower.
---
Eddie had a date. A date. The very thought felt spiky, poking Buck in the chest. And most of all it hurt. Which made him feel guilty. Cause if anyone was hurt it was Eddie. He lets the water wash over him, it hadn’t even been that bad of a shift. No horrendous calls. But they had been out almost the entire time, never making it back to the station for more than an hour. And he couldn’t stop thinking about Eddie’s lips on his and how the closest he had felt close to at peace and level was when he was with Eddie. Even today, while they barely looked at each other but still were impossible to separate. He felt it alone too, just not quite as comfortable in it. Not as fully.
When he finally shakes himself free of the spiral and exits the shower, B shift is already in full swing of things and Eddie’s truck is not in the parking lot.
He has no idea what he wants to say, he just knows that he has to kiss him. For real.
It feels wrong to waltz in like he usually does, because Eddie doesn’t know he’s coming. So he knocks. And before Eddie can say a thing Buck blurts,
“Don’t go on that date tomorrow. If you really want to you can, but I just– I can’t let you do that.”
“So I can’t date anyone else but I also can’t kiss you? What am I–”
Buck kisses him, somewhat to shut him up cause he can’t live in a world Eddie doesn’t know that he wants to any more. Mostly because as he realizes now, it's what he had wanted to do so many times before.
Eddie lets out a breath beneath him and then kisses him back, dragging him in, wrapping his arms around his neck as Buck's hands land on his hips, his thumbs slipping between his waistband and shirt.
“I’m really sorry about the other night,” Buck is finally able to say between kisses as he closes the door behind him. “I am still dealing with a lot of things and I was just confused and you caught me off guard. But please don’t go. I–”
“I wasn’t gonna go the second I saw you pull up outside my door.”
“Eddie,” he practically whines in response. Eddie’s breath ghosting over his cheeks.
He finds himself trapped against the door, Eddie kissing along his jaw, his hand finding a home spreading across his waist, thumb resting on his last rib.
“I feel like we should talk more?” Buck asks. Eddie shakes his head,
“I have told you everything I need you to know, I think we have talked enough over the past five years. We have so much time.”
Buck smiles and they’re kissing again. It’s all syrupy and sweet, with a desperation to make up for what could be lost time. Or just catching up.
Eddie pulls him to the couch by his belt loops, with such little interruption that Buck barely notices his thighs bracketing Buck’s.
And oh, he thought he knew what this might be like, he’s done this a thousand times it seems. But it’s always been in cramped bathrooms or fire trucks, always somewhat awkward and tangled, quick and dirty.
This, with Eddie on the couch, their limbs slotting together like puzzle pieces, mouths opening, tongues dipping, hands–all singing in perfect harmony.
“Are we just gonna make out like teenagers until it’s time to go get Chris?” Buck asks at some point and Eddie buries his face in his chest, he can feel the smile that spreads across Eddie’s face.
“That’s a lot of making out, until three o’clock.”
“Five, he has Robotics Club today.”
“God it shouldn’t be sexy that you know that, fuck,” Eddie kisses him again. “We should move to the bed, and take a nap, shift was relentless.”
“Mmmm, what if we just take a nap right here?” Buck asks, Eddie nuzzling into his neck, little kisses just beneath his ear.
“We’re in our thirties Buck, that is not going to go well for either of our bodies,” Eddie grumbles. He tries to disentangle himself but is only met with a soft tightening grip.
“I just turned thirty–you are the old man here,” he replies teasingly, “Don’t worry I’ll take care of you.”
Eddie props himself up, hovering over Buck’s face, thumb gently resting between his eyebrow and birthmark.
The look on his face is soft, his mouth open as if to start speaking, but he just dips down and kisses the corner of Buck’s mouth gently and settles back down. Sighing as sleep wraps around them.

ABC hire Ali, please!!! I want this!!!!
Q. You said awhile back that if they went full fanfic and gave us a storyline you'd want it to be amnesia. So how would you do that this season and have it end with Buddie becoming canon?
A. Way to put me on the spot, anon, haha. But since we're playing make believing here, if it were up to me I would do it like this :
I would open the show with a 3 month time jump, just long enough for Eddie to have been in therapy, and Buck to be newly single (this also means Chris hasn't been gone ages, because none of us want that). I would have a scene of Eddie talking to Frank during his session about his issues surrounding his relationships. Frank asks him if it's possible that Eddie believes the role of partner and coparent has already been filled, and because of that when someone else comes along and tries to take over that role Eddie spirals and begins to sabotage the relationship. The scene goes quiet while we watch Eddie's face go through a million different emotions and we see him look directly at Frank and simply say 'Buck'. Then the scene cuts to the other character block for that episode, so probably something Bobby and Athena related. The next scene would be Buck and Chimney or Ravi goofing off while cleaning the ladder truck, or some other chore. We see Eddie in the loft smiling fondly at whatever antics Buck is in the middle of. Hen walks over to him, and he looks embarrassed about being caught, she just smiles knowingly at him and tells him something along the lines of having no say in who we fall in love with but how lucky the people who get to be in love with their best friend are. Eddie faulters for a moment and admits how scared he is of messing things up between them. Hen tells him it's Buck and it's not possible for him to ever mess up enough to actually lose him. Then we see shift A leaving for the night and Eddie asking Buck if he wants to come over for dinner.
Our next Eddie and Buck scene is the two of them in his kitchen cleaning up from the dinner Buck insisted on cooking, despite the fact that Eddie told him take out sounded just fine to him. We see them standing at the sink, one washing, one drying and Eddie just kind of starts talking and doesn't think he's saying anything Buck can follow but Buck is able to follow and suddenly stops and looks directly at Eddie, eyes flickering down to his lips for a moment, and asks if he can kiss him. Eddie whispers 'yes' and Buck's soapy hands find their way to Eddie's face, they giggle at one another momentarily, until Buck dips his head down and captures Eddie's mouth in a soft gentle kiss. They part just enough to let their foreheads touch, and Buck asks him if he's sure and Eddie says he thinks he's been sure for years now, we see Buck's beaming face and tears filling his eyes as he says, 'really'? Eddie says 'really' and Buck says 'me too, god Eddie me too' and their next kiss is more heated with Buck backing Eddie into the kitchen counter. That's as far as things go that night. They agree they need to talk and Buck asks Eddie on a date after their shift tomorrow.
Cut to passengers boarding the plane we've been getting in the BTS pics before we see a beaming Buck arriving at the firehouse the next morning, coffee for Eddie in hand. He bounds up the stairs where Eddie is smiling fondly at him and we see their hands touch and linger just a bit when Buck hands over the coffee. Buck asks him they're still on for their date and Eddie tells him he can't wait actually. Just then the bell rings and off they go to the airplane emergency. Because Gerard is an ass he separates Eddie and Buck at the scene so Buck goes one way and Eddie is sent off in the opposite direction. We see Buck going through his assigned section and then hear screaming coming through the radio that a firefighter is down and we see a frantic Buck rush off because he knows without being told that it's Eddie. We see Hen and Chimney working on him in the back of the ambulance while a helpless Buck looks on, holding his hand and whispering over and over again that everything's going to be okay. We get to the hospital where Eddie is wheeled away from them leaving them all standing there trying to comfort Buck. Later that evening Buck is in the room waiting for Eddie to wake up. When he finally does and the doctor is asking him questions they realize that Eddie has temporary amnesia and can't remember anything from the last year.
Meaning Eddie forgot about Chris leaving, the Kim fiasco,Buck coming out, and of course their first kiss. So we get several episodes of Eddie not remembering things, Buck spiraling because he finally had Eddie and of course the universe took him away because Buck doesn't get to be happy. We get the 3 month time jump stuff filled in as Eddie's memories slowly return. That's also how we get the bachelor party scenes. And that allows us to see Buck and Eddie interact with Buck knowing where they were headed, and remembering the kiss and everything about that night, and Eddie still believing they're just friends.
Give me all the angst, anon. Lol, this would never happen but yeah this is how I would do it if they ever gave us fanfic.
Thank you so much for this Nonny! I read this with bated breath!
All right, this is it! This would be such a great scenario. It's one big giant trope, but who cares?
Now I want this in season 8 and I'm afraid nothing else will measure up. 😁
IMPORTANT! Please don't repost this ask and/or a link that leads straight to my Tumblr account on Twitter or any other social media. Thank you!

Confessions
Part 9- Finale
*abortion, kidnapping, mentions of rape, language, extreme violence*
(At the end is a choose your own adventure story! I encourage you to read all three)
You find yourself at Vought this time in a new location. There was a copper couch near a giant window overlooking the city, an American flag adorned on the wall, old timey paintings that look like they date back a couple hundred years scattered along the wall. This must be Homelanders penthouse. You look at the man before you, so cock sure and full of himself.
“Look at you! You didn’t vomit this time.”
“Where’s Grace?”
“Oh, I wouldn’t worry about her, I’d worry about yourself. Take a seat.” You didn’t obey his order and stood still. “TAKE A FUCKING SEAT!” Homelander points to the sectional, his eyes glowing softly. You follow his command.
“There, was that so hard?”
“So, we’re back on this bullshit huh? You still want a little supe baby?”
“Like I said all those months ago, Butcher took something away from me, now I’m taking something away from him.”
“What makes you think that I would let a child anywhere near you? What kind of mother do you take me for?” Homelander starts chuckling,
“What makes you think that he’ll need a mother? I never had one and I turned out perfect!” Homelander applying extra emphasis on the word perfect.
“Yeah, perfectly psychotic! I bet the real reason why you’re doing this is because everyone is starting to take you as the asshole you are, and they don’t love you anymore. News flash Homelander, no one will ever love you.” Homelander flew to you and grabbed your jaw firmly,
“I’m doing this because I’m the fucking Homelander, and I can do whatever the FUCK I want!” He lets go of your jaw and inspects you up and down like a predator observing his prey. “You’re not one of us anymore. We can’t have that.” You look away from Homelander, a sharky toothed grin spreading along his face as he flew out of the room. Now was your chance, you leaped from the couch and ran for the door. Turning the doorknob, you were knocked back and your back slid across the floor.
Homelander approached you with a syringe full of what you assumed was Compound-V. While you were struggling to ground yourself, he flipped you over injected the substance into your spine, you screamed. A stinging feeling that slowly graduated into your blood feeling like it was boiling. You twisted and contorted in agony, the last time you were injected they gave you a tranquilizer for the pain, this time there was no such kindness.
“Come with me darling, I’ve got such a romantic night planned for us.” Homelander hoisted you up, draped you over his shoulder and made his way up the spiral staircase to his loft.
“I’ll never be the mother to your children!” You said with every bit of strength you had, pounding on his back. It didn’t work. It was like tapping him on the back.
“Yes, you will.” You let out a shrill laugh.
“I aborted that thing you forced inside of me all those months ago you know. I’ll never be anyone’s mother!” This struck a nerve in Homelander, he pushed you off his shoulder and you fell past the stairs and onto the coffee table below, knocking the wind out of you.
“You what?” Homelander was towering over you in no time. He reached down and now had his hands around your neck. Gasping for air, you clawed at his hands, attempting to peel them away. “You BITCH!” Homelander throws you across the room into the granite countertop in his kitchen and it collapses from your weight. You lay there, crumpled in the rubble. Heavy footsteps approaching,
“You killed my baby?!” Homelander picks you up by your neck again and strangles you. What he didn’t know is before you were in his grasp, you grabbed a chunk of debris on the floor. With the Compound- V now pulsing through your veins, you drive the stoney debris into Homelander’s head. It wasn’t enough to kill him, but it was enough to cause him to drop you and him to stumble backwards. Homelander touches the spot where you hit him, noticing blood on his glove. With a feral yell, Homelander uses his laser eyes on you, which you narrowly escape.
“Hey douchebag.” You turn and see Ben throw a sucker punch to Homelander’s face. Homelander flies backwards and knocks down the dividing wall in his living room. You quickly get up.
“Get out of here doll, I’ve got this.”
“We’ve got this. Go on y/n.” Annie and Kimiko walk into the penthouse and stand next to Ben. You stand in your place. There’s no way that you’re not going to help the three of them take Homelander down.
“Love.” You feel a gentle grasp on your shoulders. You turn hotly on your heels and see Butcher and Hughie standing behind you. “We need to get you outta ‘er.”
“But what about them? They need help.”
“We’ve got a plan. Just trust us.” You follow Butcher and Hughie out of the penthouse and make your way to the elevators. Butcher pressed the button repeatedly.
“You know it’s not going to come here any fast with you pressing the button 10 times.”
“Hughie, shut your fuckin mouth.” The elevator arrives and you hear glass breaking, Annie grunting, punches meeting a solid structure, all coming from the penthouse..
“Love, come on.” You enter the elevator. Pressing the lobby floor button, you feel the elevator start its descent.
“Come on you bastard, go faster.” Then, its as if some sick and twisted deity listened to Butchers silent prayers, there was a loud metallic clank and then, free falling.
The elevator, with the three of you in it, fell many floors. It stopped suddenly and the three of you slammed on the floor of the elevator, mildly disoriented. Butcher got up and popped the trap door open on the roof of the elevator. You used your strength to hoist him up so he can get a better look.
“We’re close to a stop. About 3 feet away.” You pushed Butcher up and helped Hughie follow. You used your strength to pry open the doors and the three of you filtered into the hallway. You hear a scream coming from the elevator shaft and then the elevator fell.
“Annie!” Hughie’s scream echoed in the cold, dark tube.
“Hughie, we gotta stick to the plan. Annie will be alright.” With some more coaxing, you were able to get Hughie to follow the two of you, looking for a stairwell. You start to feel uneasy on this level… and for good reason. It’s the lab. This is where you were brought the first time Homelander kidnapped you. It looks basically the same, save for some neon green tubes which housed the Temp-V. You look at Butcher and he appears like a man jonesing for his next fix. You tug on his sleeve,
“Come on, we need to leave.” Butcher continued to stare at the substances on the counter.
“Billy, you-” before you could finish your sentence, Homelander burst through the ceiling and grabbed Butcher, knocking Hughie to the floor unconscious.
“NO!” You shriek. You grabbed Homelander by his shoulders, but he shrugs you off. Then, one punch, two punch. You hear bones cracking in Butchers face. Watching in horror as the ‘hero’ in front of you, beat up your boss, your friend, your confidant. Butchers face now quickly bloody and swollen, even after a few hits. This lit a fire in your belly, one you never felt before, you were vibrating with rage. Everything around you became zeroed in on Homelander.
“HEY!” you shout, voice demonic and unrecognizable. Butcher dropped limp to the floor, his face badly beaten, blood oozing from his mouth. Homelander’s focus was now on you. “Leave him alone.”
“Or what?”
“I’m going to kill you.” You pick up a metal stool and threw it at Homelander, he dodges most of it, but the leg grazed his arm and left a substantial gash, the wound rapidly bleeding through his uniform. You stalk towards him, watching his every move as the two of you move around in a circle. Homelander’s lips were pursed together, wheels in his head spinning, then laser eyes. You dodged the attack yet again, ducking behind a counter. Homelander begins to approach you when,
“You don’t get to run away from me that easy.” Ben grabs a fistful of Homelander’s cape and yanks, causing Homelander to lose his balance and fall backwards.
“I used to idolize you growing up! I watched all your movies. I thought that you were the only one that was as strong at me!” Homelander shouts.
“You think you are as strong as me, you wear a fucking cape! You’re just a cheap knockoff!”
“No, I’m better!” Homelander shoots his laser eyes at Ben, but he repels the beams using his shield. Homelander continues to use his laser beams, you notice Ben’s strength is waning.
“You were the old, broken version. I am-AHH!” Homelander lets out a blood curdling scream. While he was distracted, you grabbed large pieces of broken glass and ran to the cunt and jammed it into his eyes from behind. No more laser eyes. You picked Homelander up by the collar as he continued screaming and punched as hard as you could, he went flying back though 3 separate lab rooms. Meeting him where he landed, you knelt over his chest. Homelander attempted to push you off him, but between the pain in his eyes and the punch you just delt him, he was confused.
“This is for all the poor saps you fucked up over the years!” One punch and cracking filled the lab room. “This is for RAPING ME and TURNING ME INTO A GODDAMN SUPE!” Another crack. You leaned in closer and whispered, “And this? This is for Lenny.” The last punch you delivered wasn’t inflicted on his face but was directed through the left side of his chest. Homelander let out a garbled cry as you removed your hand, ripping out his heart.
When you saw Homelander, lifeless on the ground, your rage dissipated, and you began to shake from exertion. Using Homelander’s suit to wipe his blood off your hands, you unsteadily got up on your feet. You hear a commotion coming from behind you.
You choose.....

The tales of Tessa
hey lovely's, this was requested by the one and only @ladmarkinnit
this is a one shot POV from the point of view of tessa in their 'Anyone but her' series (y/n x Janis). In this story i will be referring to y/n as milo
at the mean time this will only remain as a one shot however maybe in the future it could become a series.
anywho on to the story
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm home alone when I get a text from my cousin saying she is outside and needs my help.
I walk down the black spray painted metal spiral staircase that connects my room that's in the loft to the 2nd floor of the house. I rush down the 2nd set of stairs and unlock the door, Regina comes crashing through the door in a frantic pace.
"Whoa, you okay? what's happening?" I ask concerned
"What's going on with milo and Janis? Are they dating or not?" she asks agitated
"Erm, I'm not sure if they are dating however I know they both have feelings for each other, why? "
She paces back and forth having an internal conflict debating weather to tell me what's on her mind or not
"I think .."
"I -"
"OH MY GOD SPIT IT OUT ALREADY" I exclaim
"Ihaveacrushonmilo" she says
"YOU WHAT!?"
" I KNOW I KNOW"
"BUT YOUR WITH AARON"
"I KNOW, PLEASE DONT SAY ANYTHING TO ANYONE, ITS THE COUSINS RULE"
As I am about to say something, my phone rings. I look at the caller ID and see that it is Cady, and I show Regina and she gives me a nod to answer.
"Hey girl, what's up?" I ask
"You will never guess what... JANIS AND MILO ARE DATING!" she screams down the phone that I have to pull it away from my ear.
oh no I thought to myself, I whipped my head and looked at Regina and the look on her face told me she heard it. Face like thunder she grabs her things and storms through the front door and before I could stop her she slams the door in my face.
"You had to say that loud didn't you" I hung up the phone and run out the door and see Regina getting in her car. I quickly run over and open the passenger door.
"Hey, are you okay?"
"Never been better" she says with a devilish smile, obviously concocting one of her devious plans.
"hey, Gina, don't do anything you will regret at the end of it okay" knowing what I won't stop her but hopefully will make her think about it.
"Don't worry I won't" she says still grinning and leaning across the passenger side to shut the door and drives away.
------------------------------- time jump ----------------------------------
I am running around on the pitch practicing my tackles when I see a familiar face walking towards the bench. Aaron Samuels, every time I look at him my heart skips a beat, and I know it so wrong to feel this way about my best friend's brother and my cousins boyfriend, but it just feels so right. I walk up to him and grab my water off the bench and look up at him and I notice his beautiful ocean eyes are red and puffy.
"hey are you alright?" I ask softly as we both go to sit on the bench.
"Regina just broke up with me" he says heartbroken.
"oh Aaron I am so sorry, do you want to talk about it ?"
"No not really just needed to see a kind face right now, and I remembered that you have rugby practice and well my feet did the rest"
He lifts his head and looked me in the eyes and I gave him an encouraging smile.
That's when an idea popped into my head, and I bent down to take off my boots and put my trainers back on. I stand up and take his hands into mine and pull him off the bench.
"Come on, we are going to the beach" I say with a smile.
Before I moved away when I was younger, me, Milo and Aaron would always run to the beach at every chance we got, it became our place, a place where we could find escapism and just breath and let go of the pressure of the world. Yes I know its hard to think that we had troubles at a young age but if you have met my cousin you would know that she has been Queen Bee since she left the womb, well in my world she has been. Always the favourite, the prettiest out of the both of us, while I just got forgotten about. This is why I loved our beach days because no matter what when we were there it was just us and together and no one got forgotten about.
When me and Aaron arrive at the beach I could tell that his face started to light up a bit, a slight smile starting to crack through his stone like features. I jump out of the car and run over to the passenger side and dragged him out. We ran down the little sandy path towards the sound of crashing waves.
"The last one there is a rotten egg" I say giggling while running.
"Hey no fair you got a head start"
"I don't make the rules" I say sticking out my tongue in a playful way.
As I am running I kick off my shoes and take off my socks. Aaron follows my lead just before I go to jump into the water, I take off my sports crop top, leaving me in my sports bra and sport shorts. Just as I am about to splash my feet in the brisk sea water, when I feel a pair of arms wrap around my stomach and lift me off the floor, swinging me in a circle.
He carries me in to the water with him, him making first contact with the water.
"Hey no fair I was here first" he loosened his grip so I was able to turn and face him. His hands grazing against my skin when doing so sent butterflies throughout my whole body.
Still in his grip he says "I don't make the rules" with a grin spread across his face.
"There's the Aaron I know and love, don't you ever let yourself cry over a girl who doesn't know what she had right in front of her, even if she was my cousin"
we stare in to each others eyes the space between us becoming less and less. As he still holds me by the waist we float in the water, on of his hands leave my waist and brushes the hair out of my face, looking deep into my eyes as he leans in and places a soft kiss on to my lips.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
now head on over to @ladmarkinnit's page to read the full story.
I hope you liked Tessa's POV :)

ooo if you do combos - 20 & 45 with some Buck h/c?
thank you for the prompts! I hope you enjoy :)
When Eddie walks into the loft and sees Buck in nothing but a towel at the top of the stairs, he nearly drops his groceries.
But not in a fun way.
“Buck!” he scolds, hurrying to deposit the bags on the kitchen island. “What are you doing up? Why did you have a shower? You’re supposed to keep the stitches clean and dry!”
He catches Buck’s full-body eyeroll as he starts furiously putting things away in the fridge. This is exactly why Eddie dropped Chris off for an impromptu weekend with Pepa – he can’t leave Buck alone for twenty minutes before the man is already ignoring doctor’s orders.
“It’s been forty-eight hours,” Buck calls. “I’m allowed to get them wet now.”
“Forty-two hours!” Eddie shoots back.
Even from down in the kitchen, he can hear Buck’s scoff. “I don’t think six hours is going to make a huge difference, babe.”
Eddie scowls into the fridge as he places Buck’s oat milk on the shelf; he’ll be the judge of that, thank you very much.
It all started two days ago, when Eddie had roped Buck into helping him replace some rotting wood on Pepa’s front porch. The job itself had gone mostly smoothly – thanks in large part to Buck’s previous experience working construction – until the very end. Buck hadn’t been watching where he was walking, texting Bobby about something, and he’d stumbled right into the pile of old, rotten wood that they needed to dispose of. It had almost been hilarious, the cacophony of Buck swearing as the wooden planks bounced hollowly against each other, right up until Eddie had caught sight of the blood.
Buck had added a nasty cut to the collection of scars on his left leg. Eddie had cleaned it and dressed it as best he could in Pepa’s bathroom before taking Buck to the hospital for stitches, but he couldn’t shake the worry from the back of his mind about something nasty lurking on the decaying wood. His fears were proven warranted the next morning when Buck had gone to change the bandages and found the skin around the wound red and swollen.
After that, it was a trip to the doctor’s to confirm what Eddie already suspected: Buck had developed a mild case of cellulitis, because of course he had. Couldn’t just be a simple cut.
The doctor gave him a prescription for antibiotics to kick the infection and a list of at-home care instructions to prevent it from getting worse. Buck hadn’t been worried; Eddie, on the other hand…
Well. There’s a reason he insisted on staying with Buck.
He finishes putting the groceries away just as Buck comes down the stairs in a pair of sweatshorts and a t-shirt – his slight limp not going unnoticed by Eddie. Buck ambles over to the couch while Eddie washes his hands and then gathers the supplies the doctor sent them home with before scuttling over to join him.
When he drops to his knees between Buck’s legs, Buck’s eyebrows shoot up to his hairline. “Well hello,” he drawls.
“Don’t get excited,” Eddie says. “I need to cover your stitches.”
Buck huffs and slouches further into the couch, but obediently props his injured leg up on the coffee table. Eddie knows how irritated Buck can get being fussed over, and the fact that he lets Eddie mother hen him without complaint (mostly) makes Eddie’s insides go all fluttery. But that fluttery feeling flies out the window when Eddie runs his hand over Buck’s shin and finds the skin warm to the touch.
Shit, does Buck have a fever? If he does, that’s bad. That’s really, really bad. Eddie really tries to stop himself spiralling, but his mind can’t help but leap to worst-case scenarios: if Buck has a fever, that could mean sepsis, which could mean septic shock, which could mean organ failure.
Buck must read the panic on his face because suddenly there’s a hand on Eddie’s chin, gently turning him to meet Buck’s gaze.
“Do you feel any body aches or chills?” he blurts.
“Eddie.” Buck smiles softly at him. “I had a hot shower. That’s why I feel warm.”
“Right.” He lets out a long, slow breath, willing his galloping heart to calm down. “Right, yeah, that makes sense. Okay, I’ll bandage your stitches now.”
“Hmm, in a minute.”
Buck leans down, and Eddie pushes up on his knees to meet him in the middle. Their lips slot together gently as Buck’s hand slides around to tangle his fingers in the hair at the back of Eddie’s head, sending shivers cascading down Eddie’s spine. He lets himself get lost in the kiss, relaxing for the first time since he took Buck to the doctor’s.
Eventually, Buck pulls away, but not before planting a quick kiss on Eddie’s nose. “Thank you for taking care of me. But you seriously need to talk to Frank about your tendency to catastrophize.”
Eddie rolls his eyes, but doesn’t argue. Buck might have a point, given that it didn’t take much for Eddie to make the jump from warm skin to organ failure. He carefully covers Buck’s stitches with a new bandage before taping it in place to make sure nothing gets in to contaminate the wound.
“Thank you for letting me take care of you,” Eddie says, getting to his feet. “Now keep that leg elevated while I make us dinner.”
Buck shakes his head in fond disbelief, but reaches for the pillows without protest.
