actually the really disconcerting thing abt this program is that i can feel my priorities in life changing. i’m slowly moving away from have the best arts career at all costs to needing to make art i care about and having enough money to have a life with the people who i love most

#it’s not any less ambitious it’s just really shifting from being about me to being about community #so i’d like to think i’m growing up #i feel like i’m growing up #was watching a video of my oldest friend performing a song he wrote and was suddenly struck by. oh fuck maybe i do need to move back to #[home city]. except that i have people i love so much spread across places now so really i need to be able to travel #i need to be able to travel to them. and to afford that #the problem is that having money is always a luxury in the theater and i’m not willing to compromise on what i want there either #bc i’m moving continuously further away from commercial theater. which is what would give me the best shot at living like this #ted talks

Summer in the Scandinavian wilderness of Geilo, Norway | Solo travel vlog

This summer, I spent 3 weeks in a Norwegian town called Geilo.

I didn’t know this beforehand, but Geilo is a famous and quite touristy place. But since I was staying at the far edge of the town, I had the best of both worlds:

It was only a 15-minute bike ride to all the accommodations I needed – including a super cozy second-hand store where I ended up buying six copper pans (of which I still can’t believe they fit in my suitcase on my journey back home to the Netherlands).

But the area where the house was located felt remote, spacious and calm, and was surrounded by beautiful Scandinavian nature.

From the house, I could easily reach the most serene places: lakes, wild rivers, marshes, waterfalls, fjords, and rugged mountains.
