Fandom: Steven Universe Rating: Mature Audiences (For references to underage sex) Words: 2.8K~ Summary: It’s possible. The timing lines up. What Connie fears is one hundred percent possible. The problem is, a potential pregnancy this early into their relationship was absolutely not in their plans.
WOE, post canon Connverse pregnancy scare fic be upon ye.
This is honest to god the fastest I've ever written a fic of this length in my whole ass life- I thought of this idea literally last night and nailed it all out in like twelve straight hours. Just so y'all can make an informed decision on whether to read or sit out, this contains minimal description of actual sex beyond like one short paragraph- instead focusing in on the human fallout of poor teenage decision making.
Connie is 17 and already in college, and Steven is 19.
On a semi-related topic, Google absolutely believes I'm pregnant now after all the incessant research I did for this story, lmafo.
Enjoy! I'm putting basically all of this fic under a cut here due to its mature topic nature.
__
If you asked Steven what kind of conversation he expected when Connie called him out of the blue at one AM in the morning, one where she’s hysterical and halfway to hyperventilating definitely wouldn’t have been at the top of his list.
“Woah, woah—” he stresses, passing the phone to his other ear so he can pick on up what she’s saying better. “Just— slow down, okay? Start from the beginning. What’s happened?”
“It’s been three days, Steven!” she says, voice hitching upon his name. “I know my cycle, okay?? I’ve been tracking my cycle ever since I started menstruating, and it’s supposed to be like goddamn clockwork! It’s never been late like this. Never!”
“And you’re, uh— you’re absolutely sure there’s nothing else that could be interfering-??”
“Of course I’m fucking sure!” she hollers, making the small speaker bar on his phone vibrate against the side of his head.
He winces, already regretting his poor choice of words with her.
“Okay, okay, I— I shouldn’t have pressed about that. I’m sorry. Just—” he sucks in a deep breath of air, doing his absolute beat not to delve down the dangerous implication filled rabbit hole this early on, when tensions are high and accurate information is sorely limited— “what do you need right now? What can I do to help?”
“I need you here,” she warbles, her hysteria finally pushing over the brim and transforming into a heartbreaking bounty of distraught cries. “With me—!”
He clamps down upon the inside of his lip, thinking. The unfortunate part of living two timezones away from a romantic partner is that their transportation options for emergency visitations are limited. Unless…
“Is Lion with you?” he asks, crossing his fingers and hoping beyond all hopes that this aloof feline miraculously chose this evening to make a visit at Connie’s off campus group home.
“I-I…” Brief pause. There’s a faint ruffle in the line, probably her shifting position. “I think he’s outside, yes.”
“If you can send him over to me, I’ll be there as fast as I can. Okay?”
“Okay,” she whispers, hoarse and strained.
“We’ll figure this out, I promise. Love you.”
“Love you…”
And with that, Connie hangs up from her end.
Steven’s humble little studio apartment falls into complete and utter silence. He cradles his phone in his hands, staring with unparalleled intensity at his seventeen-year-old girlfriend’s smiling contact photo for a good few minutes… contemplating the sheer daunting weight of the potential future life’s just sprung on them out of nowhere.
It’s possible.
The timing lines up.
What Connie fears is one hundred percent possible.
“Shit,” he ultimately hisses, shoving the device in his back pocket and moving to grab his wallet, his keys, and a light jacket.
This was absolutely not the conversation he expected to have tonight.
_____
One trip to his local 24-hour convenience store and a ride on Lion later, Steven finds himself perched on the edge of Connie and her housemates’ shared couch holding the instructional pamphlet for a pregnancy test, intensely conscious of the sleep shattering noise they’re probably making out here despite their best attempts at whispering. Ugh. He really, really hopes they don’t wake Patricia or Natalie up with all this racket. He doesn’t want to be rude, especially not at the heart of midterms season.
“But this says you’re not supposed to take it until a week after your first missed period,” he says, tapping his finger at the relevant section of fine print.
“That doesn’t mean it’s not gonna work at all, though,” Connie shoots back, tussling the instructions from his hands. “Look, see—? It doesn’t say you’re not supposed to take it until then, it just says the results may have a higher chance of inaccuracy.”
“And isn’t accuracy exactly what we need at the moment?” he responds with a bit too much stress riding within his tone.
(His thoughts trail back to almost three weeks ago. That kissing session that got a bit more heated than either of them had originally planned for. The expired condom that he didn’t realize was expired until after it broke in the middle of sex.)
She shoots him a withering look, her eyes puffy and damp from all the tears she’s already shed tonight.
“No, what I need is an answer. Any answer, so I can finally go to bed and stop freaking the hell out over this. You know how I am— I just gotta rip the bandaid off, and then I’ll be fine. I’ll even test daily for the next week if that makes you feel better.”
“Whatever makes you feel better,” he gently redirects, capturing her trembling hand within his and rubbing faint circles against the side of her palm for a few precious moments.
Sniffling, she gives a faint nod, grabbing the test itself from the coffee table and moving to stand.
“Okay. I… I’ll be just a few minutes. I’ll come back out once I have the sample ready, a-and… and then we can wait together.”
“Take your time,” he says.
She does.
As it turns out, peeing on demand (and on a plastic test strip, no less) is pretty difficult, even more so when one is stressed beyond all belief.
They keep in contact over text for those long twenty or so minutes, and it’s through this feed of discussion that he starts to piece together the full picture of what must’ve happened here.
Mistake number one: Connie knew she was in a fertile period. She knew, and— horny as she was at the time— decided to progress the speed of their lovemaking anyways. All her choice. She provided him a condom she’d gotten as a free sample from some university health fair, and off they went. In any normal circumstance, that’s where this story would stop.
But then came mistake number two: right as he neared the brink of orgasm, he felt a distinct jump in sensitivity— one that not only sent him careening right over the edge, but also alerted him to the fact that his condom must’ve snapped. He’s almost positive Connie felt it too. He pulled out as quick as he could the second he realized, but what’s done was done.
They discovered big mistake number three right afterwards: The condom was already expired. It was expired all along, and neither of them had thought to check the label before slipping it on. Stupid. Connie promised she’d talk to the campus nurse about getting her hands on some free Plan B that next morning— just in case— and Steven assumed that was the end of it.
But then there was mistake number four: Apparently, Connie never took that Plan B at all. She was so wigged out over one of her upcoming midterms in a class she’s barely passing that (as he learns via this text thread) she forgot to go to the nurse to inquire about it in the first place. By the time she remembered, too many days had passed for it to be effective, so she didn’t bother looking into it further. Instead she merely crossed her fingers that nothing would come of this series of unfortunate happenings whatsoever, but then came late period day number one. And then number two. And then number three. And by that point, the evidence seemed so stacked against her favor that the stress simply exploded. She couldn’t study. She couldn’t even sleep. Thus, she just has to secure an answer tonight, or she’ll never find any peace, she says.
He understands, he does.
But also… he really, really wants to make sure that whatever answer they settle on with this matter is guaranteed correct. And soon, while there’s still time to do something about it (if that’s what she wants) without too much emotional investment coming into play.
Because accidentally knocking up his girlfriend in her second year of college… before they’re even married or close to being engaged… and while she’s still seventeen to boot was absolutely not in their plans.
“Ughhh… stupid, stupid,” he hisses to himself, knocking his head against the plush backing of the sofa.
If that damned test comes back positive, her mother (and heck, probably Pearl too, for that matter) is going to kill him.
While he wouldn’t mind being a father in a few years’ time, the fact of thee matter is that they’re nowhere close to ready for such a future at this current juncture. Neither of them have jobs. Neither of them have a home of their own that isn’t partially paid for by their parents. Hell, on his end, even with regular therapy and steady medication he still struggles with the most basic self-care like showering daily and remembering to eat breakfast. So how on Earth— if Connie’s fears are right, and she is positive— is he supposed to suddenly pivot to taking care of an infant too on top of all that? Oh stars he’s not ready for this. He’s not.
And if that’s how he feels, then he can’t even begin to imagine how much terror must be surging through her mind at this present moment.
Yikes. He’s really made a mess of things, hasn’t he? He should’ve… ugh, he should’ve said something. He should’ve gently told her ‘no’ the moment she revealed she was only a day away from ovulation. He shouldn’t have taken the risk. He should’ve thought to check in with her about the Plan B instead of blindly assuming she took care of it. He’s older, so he should’ve been the responsible one.
He tells her as such.
no, no… it takes two to tango, silly, she responds via text a few seconds later. it’s not your fault any more than it’s mine. im sorry for yelling at you earlier, it’s just. not what i had planned.
same, he responses.
And then, after a hard swallow and a moment’s pause… he dares to rustle up that big ol’ elephant in the room.
He asks The Question.
have u thought about what you’re gonna do if its positive yet
A set of ellipses show up at the bottom of the screen. She’s typing. Slowly.
Or maybe…
The ellipses disappear for a bit. Then reappear. Then blink out existence once again.
Steven sighs, sinking back into the couch and setting his phone upside down so he doesn’t have to psych himself out by staring expectantly at her contact photo at the top of their text feed for the next goodness knows how long.
Good grief. If he weren’t already so damn emotionally drained over all this, he’s sure he’d be glowing bright ass pink right now. Thank goodness he’s not. Connie needs his comfort tonight, not the other way around. His lip crinkles into a pensive frown as he reflects on the situation… shifts his gaze around the darkened living room. (He catches the faintest glimpse of Lion snoozing outside the window again as his eyes adjust to the light level.) For the briefest of seconds he considers shooting a text to Dad, curious if he might have any advice on how to handle this sort of situation, but then…
No, no. It’s far too early to say anything. Plus, he doesn’t want to risk letting the blunt reality of their active sex life break containment unless Connie says it’s okay.
His phone buzzes.
Heart pounding with unimaginable ferocity, he flips it over to read.
honestly the reason i’m so freaked out rn is that i think id really wanna keep it. even though im SURE it would mess up all my college goals. is that stupid??
Brief pause yet again as she adds something else.
i’m so, so sorry i know that might not be something you’re ready to commit to rn. that’s half of why i’m so upset. i don’t want this to speed up our relationship in ways you’re not ready for, or ruin it altogether
Steven’s inhale is sharp and shallow, his thoughts racing as he tries not to consider the potential implications of what her decision means for him too deeply. It’s not about me, he reminds himself. It’s not about me.
hey, no- it’s okay, he types, fingers shaking. don’t fuss about me. it’s your body. your choice. i’ll support you through whatever you decide. promise.
Send.
A good while passes without a response.
Considering the heaviness of the topic, he’s half a mind to stride across the room and go knock on the bathroom door to see if she’s okay, but then that very door squeaks open.
Connie scuttles to the couch in a hurry, the test and a generous wad of toilet paper in hand. She lays down the paper on the coffee table first for cleanliness’ sake, and sets the plastic sample cartridge on top of it.
Then, with a weary sigh, she sets a timer on her phone for three minutes.
“Please don’t let me look at it until time’s up,” she says, slumping against his side for comfort.
“It’s okay,” he whispers, shifting his position to wrap his arms tight around her. Secure. Safe. “We’re okay. Whatever happens, we do it together, all right?”
“All right.”
Noticing her heavy blinking and angling to help her feel better, he brushes a stray wavy lock back behind her ear, his touch as delicate as he can muster. “Hey. Jam buds?”
“Jam buds,” she nods with a watery smile.
They sit in silence for about thirty seconds, allowing each others’ racing heartbeats to lull them to at least some form of camaraderie laden relief.
Or at least, they try to.
“My mom is not gonna be happy about this,” Connie says out of the blue, attaching words to the daunting thought they’re clearly both stewing over.
“If it’s positive,” he reminds her. “It’s still a big if.”
“But I’m right though. I was an underage accident, too, remember? I just—” her voice breaks as she chokes back what he fears might be an impending sob— “I know she wanted better for me. I don’t want to disappoint her, y’know?”
He risks a dry joke to lighten the mood.
“Well… at least if she’s mad, you have the excuse that it runs in the family to fall back on, right?”
“Oh, shut up, you,” she says with a half-hearted giggle, playfully shrugging him away.
They lapse into a peaceful quiet yet again.
He busies himself tracing abstract shapes against the knob of her shoulder, doing his best to help ground her amidst this unexpected squall in their relationship.
“How much time’s left?” she asks, her tone shrunken and nervous
Steven glances over at her phone on the table. “Just a few more seconds.”
The timer goes off a mere cluster of heartbeats later.
Taking a deep breath as one committed unit, their hands inseparably intertwined, the two lean forward to investigate the pregnancy test together.
There’s only a single band visible in the results window, where the control should be.
Negative.
Steven lets out what’s quite possibly the biggest exhale of his full nineteen years.
Thank the stars.
That’s step one.
It’s still not a solid confirmation— not with this singular test taken so early into what she fears is a missed cycle— but it’s a start.
“What does it mean that a tiny part of me is kinda disappointed now…?” Connie asks him afterwards, sinking backwards into the couch’s soft embrace.
“It means we’ll have to try again in a few years,” he says, giving the crown of her head a soft kiss. “When we’re actually ready.
_____
Connie tests again just a few hours later that morning.
Then the next day.
And the next.
All negative.
Much to their relief, their one hundred percent conclusive answer comes on day three, when she calls him at the literal crack of dawn with immense excitement to report the belated start of her period.
Just to be extra sure, she makes a walk-in appointment at the university clinic to talk through the scare with one of their doctors on day four.
“It was that damn anxiety med I just started,” she relays to him over the phone later that evening. “I didn’t even think about it. Apparently medications that function as antidepressants run the risk of screwing up your cycle a bit. Thus, the delay.”
“Well, now we know for the future, yeah?”
“Yeah,” she says with a faint chuckle. “That, and the importance of never using cheap free sample condoms. Ugh… I’m gonna be so paranoid about expiration dates, now.”
He frowns, rapping his fingertips against the arm of his desk chair.
“Hey, listen— don’t get all worked up over it, okay? Like you’ve said before, it takes two to tango. We never have to do anything you’re not explicitly comfortable with.”
“Yes, yes, you’re right,” she acquiesces. “Of course you’re right… Still, I guess the silver lining of all this is that now I know I actually want children someday.”
“Same,” he says, his chest fluttering with unquestionable affection. “Let’s get you through college first, though. Then we’ll talk.”
Connie giggles, lively and free. The sound is spellbinding music to his ears.
“Sounds like a deal, Biscuit.”

Y'all I'm rambling about Sunday, sorry in advance. First of all, there are many future rambles I will probably make about him because he's a very complex character and I love him but today were just gonna start with little things I've noticed about his design, asides from the obvious (his wings being clipped etc.) So I wanna start off with the piercings in his little head wings, many people have interpreted them differently, but I'm gonna be sticking to the Catholic/religious themes. How I interpreted them is that they don't look like the usually piercings, to me they look like either thorns or nails. For this interpretation I'm going to say that they're nails because in the Bible nails were used to hold people against the cross, I think this is symbolic of how Sunday is being held back and burdened by his own faith, actions, and father. This also continues to further the idea that Sunday is trapped, a bird within a cage, a man on a cross, trapped all the same. Also it would make sense if they added nails into his character design because Sunday has a lot of Jesus imagery, which I might explain more in depth in another post (he is not based off of Jesus, they've just drawn inspiration from him because he's a huge biblical figure, again Sunday is not based off of Jesus and I'm not saying that, it'd be weird if they based their main villain off of JESUS, Jesus is a chill guy and not insane like Sunday) anyways that's one of my points about his design, my next one is the halo, which also has a lot of biblical connotations (obviously cus it's a damn halo) I'd like to start off by pointing out the differences between Sunday and Robin's halos. Sunday's halo is very jagged and spiked, it's very rigid and sharp. Robins is round and smooth and even has little flowers coming out of it. This brings me to my next point, back at it again with Jesus imagery, Sunday's halo is quite literally a crown of thorns. I'll include the definition of the modern term crown of thorns, because I think it applies very heavily to Sunday.
Tumblr media
This term is fitting for his character because he carried the burden of the order his whole life and his sister had no idea at all, he has to carry it alone. The point I want to make here is that thorns are something that gets forced into your head, this refers to the fact that Sunday has had his beliefs forced into his head by the dream master from a very young age, which is why robins halo does not have any spikes because nothing was ever forced into her head because she wasn't manipulated like Sunday was. I also think his halo resembles a crown of thorns in general just with how it looks, his halo doesn't hover above his head like Robin's, it floats behind it, the spikes on the inner circle point towards his head instead of away from, if it were to be place on his head like a crown, said spikes would dig into his head. If Robin's halo were to be placed on her head like a crown, nothing would happen to her, she'd be fine, because she's not the one who bears the crown of thorns.

So out of nowhere I was tagged and quoted by a SR shipper for a blog of mine posted in August of last year. Talk about throwback but, hey, gotta appreciate that level of snooping. 😉
Back in the day I actually used to encourage discourse amongst Inuyasha fans- both shippers and antis alike- but I've since realized that it's a lost cause. But for you, @feministmetalgreymon , I'll grant this exception. Just 'cause it's been a while so why the hell not. haha
I want to assure you, however, that nothing you say will ever convince me that Sesshomaru and Rin are meant to be together romantically or that the story intended it so. Nor will you find any validation here. You can ship them for all I care, but please for all that is good and holy while I have your attention try- I mean really try- to understand why it is so many of us Inuyasha fans are so against this pairing in the first place (newsflash: it's not about ship wars), and why we believe a romance between the two of them is completely and utterly out of character.
For those of you interested in reading this, the blog of mine in question that the above shipper mentions in their counter-argument is here for reference. It's titled "Jaken = Rin's Dad?" I'm going to try and keep this short, but I'm also making no such promises. After all, I'm not exactly known for my brevity. haha Now let's get crackin'!
Like you, feministmetalgreymon, did for your recent blog here where you took screenshots of mine to address certain parts, I will be doing the same and dissecting yours accordingly.

I worked with kids for many years as a teacher, and many people in my family have too or still do. Two of them happen to be just over 5 feet which is quite short for the average adult woman living here. I've also worked alongside many a women of short stature, and never did I hear any of them complaining of issues with their students having difficulty differentiating them from their own peers just because they were short as well. I'm sorry but that's just ridiculous. Kids are quite smart and pick up on a lot more than you seem to give them credit for. Height is not the only characteristic they look at to determine who's an adult and who's not, and it's foolish to suggest otherwise. So unless you're a babysitter who's still in their teens and/or who has very childlike features or behavior then I'm afraid what you're getting at is total hogwash. This is just another example of how you shippers offer nothing of real substance to your reasoning, it's only ever cherry-picking or strawmanning from you guys. Stop deflecting from the real issues please, because this certainly isn't one and only winds up being a complete waste of time for all parties involved.
[Snippet 2]
Tumblr media
Okay, calm down now. I wasn't insinuating that relationships between parents and children can't change over time in terms of how they get along. Of course that's possible, as all families experience their fair share of estrangement and abuse. What I was speaking about was in reference to the overall dynamic between the two. Because a bad mother or father can still be viewed as a parental figure to their child even if say they're not in said child's life anymore. Since Sesshomaru and Rin share a healthy bond- and just a friendly reminder that in my blog I even said that he doesn't have to necessarily be labeled her father but that a romantic relationship later would still be inappropriate- I didn't deem it necessary to address what you brought up. Plus, it kinda, umm, misses the point?? Please, let's stay on topic. And it's not captured in the screenshot, but stop acting like there isn't a small part of them that idolizes their parents at some point during childhood. Just like you mention later on how it's normal for kids to have innocent crushes on adults that they eventually grow out of? Well, guess what, the same concept applies here. Kids eventually learn that their parents are far from perfect and make mistakes too. Rin is so damn young in the OG series though that we never even get to see her reach that maturity level.
[Snippet 3]
Tumblr media
LOL! Alright, okay, so the "unbreakable bond" bit you're mentioning was actually me quoting you sessrinners. Did you not catch that? I literally spelled it out. *sigh* The whole point I was making is that shippers like yourself make hypocritical and contradictory statements all.the.goddamn.time. One moment you guys claim that Sesshomaru and Rin were essentially strangers and meant very little to each other, only to say in the same breath a few seconds later that they were destined to be together and their bond is like no other. I agree, their bond is special, but why must that mean they're going to fall in love?
That is the root of the matter here. Too many animes/mangas have romanticized this older adult man & young girl growing up falling in love trope that it's become way too normalized and widely accepted across the world- and yes, in some cultures more than others. Sadly, you lack the awareness to recognize how this all works. You know how we know that? When we see that you shippers are so desensitized to sexualized images of girls in the media that you share posts like this one below which *subtly* imply a future romance although one half of that pairing is still just a child in the pic and then try and pass it off as cute. That's like super fucking problematic and it scares me that you can't see that (or deny you do). 🤢
Tumblr media
After all that's said and done, Sesshomaru leaving Rin in the village with Kaede is to me the strongest indicator more than pretty much anything else he's done for Rin that proves he is her adoptive father. It's so funny to me how you somehow see the exact opposite though. 🤔 What I think is happening is that you got yourself on some squeaky clean ass shipper goggles fresh out of your little echo chamber. Because I hate to tell you, but what you're fantasizing is what you want to see and not what's actually there on screen or was written into the story. I'm strictly talking about Inuyasha and the manga of course. [For the TL; DR version skip to the last paragraph.]
Parents looking after their kids is what parents are supposed to do. A good parent will do anything to keep their child safe and ensure they are cared for, so what he did for her by leaving her there was in her best interests clearly. Besides, as a babysitter, you more than most people should understand that parents aren't always able to be there for their kids so sometimes others gotta step in to help. Haven't you heard of the saying, "it takes a village to raise a child?" Which in Rin's case is literally true! 😂 Sometimes kids are even sent off to stay with grandparents and that's who raises them instead. Or maybe they have to temporarily live with an aunt or uncle because their single parent's job requires they work out of town 4-5 days of the week so they're hardly home. But that doesn't mean that the parents care or love their kids any less, and it's foolish to assume that Sesshomaru must have thought very little of Rin simply due to the fact that he made the decision to leave her in the village. Come on, y'all are acting like he abandoned her there!!
It's just given the circumstances Sesshomaru finally came to learn that Rin traveling with him was no longer safe. I also like to think it's because he wished for her to live a more normal life and to learn how to fully trust humans again. Plus, continuing to travel with him as young as she was would have proven dangerous and unwise. Now for you to know all this and still manage to turn his past actions towards her while she was just a child into a romantic gesture is what boggles my mind. Regardless of how you look at it, from my perspective or your own, Sesshomaru is in the wrong. Either he's a father figure who impregnates his daughter at the young age of approximately 14. OR he's this man she used to travel with who maybe isn't a father to her but who nonetheless basically rapes her since kids her age can't consent to sex with an adult. Idk about you but it sounds to me like nobody here wins with either scenario we're given. In other words, you should be just as mad as we are. If only one side didn't choose to forsake their morals they know we both have in common for the sake of a ship. Welp. 🤷‍♀️
Tumblr media
I agree, incest is disgusting but that's not the only problem we have with this pairing. A romantic bond forming between Sesshomaru and Rin would also constitute as grooming.
You realize that over the years he visited her in the village that he brought her gifts too and essentially watched her grow up right before his very eyes, right? I mean, I know you do, but I really shouldn't have to explain further why pursuing a romantic/sexual relationship with each other is plain and simple wrong. And before you say it's not because he didn't have any malintent, please understand that considering their history and power dynamic up to then that yes this is still considered grooming even if Rin supposedly "wanted it" or "made the first move." Whether you consider him her father or not, as the adult who took on a role resembling that of a caretaker in her early life- a critical developmental time for a child- Sesshomaru is obligated to turn down any advances by Rin and most definitely should not initiate any himself. As the first close adult figure she's had in her life since her parents died, it's unfathomable to imagine how Sesshomaru could go through with taking advantage of this young girl who was under his care and supervision since they met. To think he could be capable of betraying that trust sickens me to the core.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This. Now THIS is how a parent/guardian or a similar adult caretaker (babysitter, teacher, etc.) talks to a child. And, in turn, this is how some young children talk to adults. You'd be insane and delusional to deny it! We see it in our everyday lives, do we not? From where else do you think our stories draw most of their inspiration? Yes, obviously these fictional universes have aspects of fantasy that don't exist in the real world, but so how then do you suppose we're able to relate to them? The reason for that being is because these stories are written by people for people, so naturally there are going to be real life aspects embedded throughout. Sure, a little escapism doesn't hurt as we don't need to take everything so seriously, but ultimately we all need to recognize that the messages in the stories we tell matter. Most stories possess a combination of both light and dark themes, but when it specifically comes to the latter we gotta be careful with how we tackle this in children's media since kids are far more impressionable.
So if at the center of a story we have two of the main protagonists whose mom is basically their same age and to top it off she knew their dad when she was just a girl and who just so happened to help raise her, wouldn't you say that's beyond fucked up or at the very least so fucking weird? Like why would we think it's even remotely okay for our children to watch this garbage?? Really think about it. Try and be objective for once and think about how it would sound explaining this storyline to an outsider who's never watched IY or HNY. Well, antis have tried this before many times and we always get the same reaction: Ewww!
Like I said earlier, if you wanna ship it then fine, but 1) please stop seeking our approval or trying to change our minds - your ship wish came true didn't it, so why do you need us to validate it? 2) even though it's not canon, respect that we don't support this sequel portraying pedophilia in a positive light. It's harmful af to not only allow but glorify the continuation of sexualized images of young girls everywhere. And I shouldn't have to say this, but just because this trope is popular as you say does not make it right. Lolicon themes in the media have been an issue forever and it needs to stop. Yes, even some people in Japan or "the East" would agree. Shocker!
We're pissed off and rightfully so because Yashahime's TV rating is 14, not to mention it airs at the prime time kids in Japan watch TV after getting home from school. That's Towa and Setsuna's age, true, but if Rin being the mom when she's like only a year older than them (please don't argue w/ me about the math- antis have so far been right every time with it) is straight-up disgusting and not something we should be supporting or endorsing. Rin's a whole ass child!! Please don't start with the "but times were different then so her having kids at 15 is acceptable" argument either, because we've already debunked that and every other single excuse you guys throw at us. Besides, how or why would you expect young viewers to know these historical "facts" anyway, especially if as you suggest fiction doesn't affect reality so what does it matter? Yet here we are, arguing over a fictional show in real life almost a year and a half into the "Sesshomaru fucks?" sequel being announced. My ass, your ass, hell all our asses fiction doesn't affect reality!
Look, I do apologize if the tone of this blog came off as snippy or condescending at times. I do not wish you any ill will, it's just I'm not really sure what you expected to get out of all this besides maybe getting on my nerves perhaps. haha A lot of you shippers have been desperately scrambling to interact with us, lurking in our tags, jumping onto our posts screaming canon and getting so defensive even though you sought us out first. We've been sticking to our tags, so how about you stay in your lane too. By the way since we're on the topic, have you seen Twitter or Reddit?! SR shippers there are the actual worst and many Inuyasha fans (not just antis) have complained of not feeling welcomed to engage in fandom spaces anymore. Shippers swarm them and scare them off simply because fans don't like your ship and refuse to accept it. It's pathetic, really. No one should ever be bullied or harassed just because they don't like something you might. We're all fans of Inuyasha, aren't we? So let's act like it. Yashahime on the other hand, you guys are welcome to that pungent heap of trash. Fans have a right to criticize it too, but if you like it then good for you, so keep on liking it and don't mind us.
Tumblr media
I'm almost done, but real quick back to Jaken! Let's not forget about how the official Yashahime website- which came out after my blog, mind you- described Jaken. This translation isn't the best one available but it's the only version a fellow anti friend could track down. They do recall a better one done by a native Japanese speaker who was also an anti, and that member confirmed that Jaken is indeed called Rin's babysitter. So you see, I was right in my interpretation. In the original post I did compare Jaken to a brother, but after talking to others (some comments can be found under said post) I did acknowledge that he's more of a reluctant babysitter who's not related. And if he's not at least a brother to Rin, then he's definitely not her father.
At the end of the day, the creator Rumiko Takahashi has the final word. Which is guess what? Hogosha. 💖 Probably should've just started out with that and saved us all the trouble, huh? Good day/night to you.
Papamaru bids you adieu now. 🤞

health update - long, long post
two out of three appointments done!! good news all around. first, with my hematologist... so apparently I've been in remission since december and didn't know it because the literature talks about milestones you have to reach for the type of leukemia I have but lmao ???? hey I've been in remission for almost eight months, cool ;P if I go two years with no signs of leukemia, we can extend my appts out! but for now we will still check labs every three months my endocrinologist sent me to an Expert Thyroid Radiologist and she said my ultrasound on the goiter/nodules looked good enough to not even need another ultrasound again (barring any major changes in numbers, I imagine) and my tsh levels are excellent so 👌 don't have to do labs again for a year!! I see my rheum on the 3rd and I imagine it will go much the same way as I've already seen my labs and they look ok to my layman's eyes lol and thank god she let me switch to a telehealth appt so I don't have to go in for this one because I had to go in yesterday to my hematologist's office hnnnn this is all really good news and feels great but GOD! it's extremely hard to tell what's been giving me symptoms since CML, hypothyroidism, and of course rheumatic diseases all cause intense fatigue, appetite weirdness, skin problems and more. but depression/anxiety/ptsd also cause all of these things and so do both of my neurological conditions. my rheum thinks the basic symptoms my PCP was concerned about for lupus or scleroderma is the whole shebang combined and I'm sure she's right it's always been the neuro shit that's given me the worst symptoms and agony and extreme discomfort I've ever felt in my life lol and that has an uncertain and at this moment frightening future so... yeah, we'll see where I'm at in a few months I guess and if there's been any improvement. but fighting what happens in my brain every day is the most exhausting thing I've ever done and the damage it does to my mental health cannot be understated, which my neurologist loves to do! so as soon as I do a couple tests he ordered I'm finding a new one. not for new answers, but only for someone not a complete mess of a person who contradicts themselves constantly within the same breath y'all my last appointment with him was absolutely BANANAS. he spent more time complaining about the company he worked for and defending himself and justifying himself to himself??? than like. treating me lol he makes so so so many mistakes, he lies, and I'm still boiling over the question he asked on the phone on july 1st 'so did anyone go over your MRI results with you?' (from mid-APRIL) like do you mean YOU, SIR???? god. he reviewed them with me on my appt on july 14th and got all huffy about them doing 'the wrong MRI' cause I was supposed to have an MRV, not an MRA, and yet he has put in like 6 or 7 orders (four in the same day) for an MRA, including on the 14th, just in case you need a picture of what this man is like. I could make three whole posts about him, he's chaotic and not in a good way him: 'well you've lost 30 pounds and with IIH, that should show improvement. and since there's no improvement, that's very uncharacteristic so it could be something else. but also keep in mind that even with losing the weight there may not be any improvement in IIH symptoms' hmm still working that one out anyway I've had insomnia for the majority of my life and only medical marijuana helped. I'd go to bed at midnight and not fall asleep until 3 AM if I was lucky before I tried it. now that I can't be on it, but I am at war with my brain 24/7, I'm sleeping the whole night through better than I have for most of my life 😒 this sounds like a good thing, but I'm still exhausted waking up every morning. my brain can't catch up on rest while it's this bad I still don't have a lot of hope for this shit. and it is IIH, he just doesn't want to say it. we all know it's IIH, it's literally the one explanation and fits all my symptoms. I wish it had been the easiest one to cure and was gone because it's a living hell. gonna continue
working toward my goals and hope my health is eventually as kind to me for this as it's been for the CML I really want to go to therapy to deal with the trauma of the last year and a half but I can't have a conversation, especially not an emotional one, and I can't process or think very well when talking to someone anymore. it sucks and it's scary feeling my brain function is not what it was just two or three months ago. memory 👎 decision making skills 👎 processing questions 👎 mixing things up/confusing myself on the daily? 👍 neuro referred me to a neuropsychologist for cognitive function stuff so yeah. hoping for a miracle at this point anyway, pretty proud of myself for losing weight though and in a healthy way. my neurologist, neurosurgeon and psychiatrist seemed doubtful I could do it on my own, but my 31lbs gone says hey fuck you lmao 19 more to my big first goal! even if it doesn't fix IIH and I have to have surgery, not being obese anymore will make it safer and I'll feel better all around. started at 210 and I'm now at 179 c: sorry for good news and also doom and gloom but s i g h at least there's forward progress in some ways, right?

The Wanton Song
Tumblr media
Summary: How do you broach the topic of sex with the 90-something super soldier you've found yourself dating? That's the reader's question. Luckily, she and Bucky are no strangers to awkward conversations...
Pairings: Bucky Barnes x fem!enhanced! Reader
(Reader can see bits and pieces of the future in visions and understands all languages)
Warnings: SMUT, tiny bit of angst, lotsa fluff, maybe some past dub!con if you squint
Author's note: Wow... here I am posting smut on the internet. Never thought that would happen. Tmi, but I'm married, so I have a good amount of sex 🙀 and I actually had a great first time, but some people don't, and that's what I tried to represent. That, and CONSENT!!!! Consent is sexy, y'all. Safe, sane and consensual all day every day.
As always, the reader's name isn't stated so that you can read as a self insert, but I've written so much at this point that I refer to the Reader as Violet in my own mind.
*************************************************
Life has been going swimmingly these past few months. Better than ever before in fact, or at the very least, better than in a long time. She’s still a fugitive, living life looking over her shoulder, but now she has a steady job, a steady paycheck, and oh yeah, a steady boyfriend. Those three things have never aligned for her before (especially the last one). Overall, she’s pretty happy. But, because she’s her, there’s still a question niggling at the back of her mind.
The transition from “you’re my only friend” to “we’re together now” went smoothly, helped in part by the fact that Barnes had been at that particular juncture the whole time. From the outside looking in, the only major changes have been the addition of those three simple but very key words and an upping the anti in the cuddles department.
Speaking of cuddles, that’s a very mild term for what’s going on these days. It starts out innocent enough. The usual location is on the couch at one or the other’s apartment. There hadn’t been much distance between them since that first time where they ended up talking more than watching the movie playing from her laptop, but now, the space is nonexistent. As a general rule, within the first ten minutes, her legs somehow end up over his lap or in some way intertwined with is. The intention is always to pay attention to what’s on the screen but, well, when you’re that close, it would be rude not to snuggle up. And, when the other person looks that damn kissable, it would truly be insulting not to take the plunge.
Now, considering the angle, one of them has to lean in. Otherwise, it would be awkward. That generally determines who, somewhere from two to ten minutes later, is on top of who. Of course hands wander, and even though it’s understood that the word “no” can be employed at any time and immediately obeyed (not to mention the copious amounts of “Is this okay”’s being asked), she can’t remember a time either of them have said it.
If she had to attach a term to what comes next, it would be ‘dry humping.’ And then… nothing. It always ends far too soon, leaving her flustered and with her heart racing. At first she thought it was because he simply didn’t want her, but, well, there’s certain physical signs that point to that not being the problem. Her next guess was that he’s simply being respectful. Well, as sweet as that is, she’s ready to get on with it. She’s only human after all, and as such, has needs. Sure, she could take care of them herself, but if she had to guess, he’s experiencing those needs too, and from what she’s heard, it’s more fun to take care of it together.
The only issue: how the hell do you bring something like this up, especially when the person you’re bringing it up with grew up in a much more repressed era than you did? She’s been debating it for the past week, and despite having multiple visions, none of them have given her that key insight into what to do.
Finally, she decides to just say it. They’ve made a point to be honest with each other, and it’s probably best to get it out of the way. They’re adults, after all. They can have this discussion. She’s going to come straight out with it.
“Hey, can I ask you something? It’s kind of personal, and maybe a little uncomfortable.”
“Sure, Doll.” The response is immediate. “Fire away.”
Glancing up to make sure they’re not at a pivotal scene in tonight’s movie (they have a system; at his place, watch something he grew up with, at hers, something made literally anytime after 1945), she spits out the whole sentence in one breathless go. “Are we ever going to have sex?”
It feels like a branding iron where his arm is still wrapped around her shoulder. Still, it’s comforting. At least he’s not moving away.
“I gotta admit, that’s not the question I was expecting. What brought this on?”
She shrugs, carefully keeping her eyes trained on the wall behind his head instead of on him.
“Nothing in particular. Just…” is there a delicate way to put this? “...I think things are going well between us, and sometimes when we’re together… I’ve noticed that there’s a physical response.” She’s really hoping that’ll suffice, because she can’t think of a good way to say “I can feel that you’re hard when you’re on top of me”.
 “Oh.”
Apparently, her meaning is indeed clear enough, because he removes his arm from her shoulders. She’s about to apologize (all the while mentally berating herself) when his hand closes over hers.
“I’m sorry about that, Doll. I’ll try to stay calmer.” Wait, that’s not- “It’s just an issue guys have. Don’t think it means you have to do anything that you don’t want to, because I would never-”
“I know you wouldn’t.” Without thinking, she cuts him off. “And I want to.” It feels like she’s sitting in a sauna, she’s so flustered from this conversation. “But only if you do, and I understand if you didn’t-”
“No.” It’s abrupt, cutting her off. A definite answer that leaves no room for questioning. “No, I do. I just-” He clears his throat. “-I didn’t want to bring it up, in case we weren’t on the same page. “ This seems to be a recurring theme, so far. “And it’s not a must. If you change your mind-”
It’s pure instinct. There’s no thought involved as she closes the gap between them, this time with her on top, and presses  her lips against his. The response is immediate and enthusiastic. She considers just going on, not putting a stop to things, but realization hits that, although overall she’s ready for this to happen, she’s not ready for it to happen tonight. There’s still things she needs to take care of. Most importantly, protection.
So, gasping for breath, she pulls away. “I’m calling for a rain check, but if after that, you still think I’ll change my mind-” she pushes back her hair and forces herself to take a deep breath. “-then you may just be beyond help, Barnes.” If the chuckle is anything to judge from, she’s made her point.
_________________________________________________________________________________
Wow. Bucky thinks to himself as he exits out of the browser tab on his phone. That’s enough internet for one day. Too much, actually. He knows that it’s the information superhighway, but good god, no one needs THAT much information. He really needs to be more specific with what he googles… or less… or just not at all.
He’d never admit it (and really, who the hell is gonna ask him anyway), but he spent the last hour looking up how to have sex. He’s engaged in the act before, yeah, but it was seventy years ago. Plus, it used to be this huge taboo thing that you suspected was going on behind closed doors, but no one (not even the married couples) owned up to it. If you were ever found out, there were severe consequences. As a man, he didn’t have to worry as much, but if whoever the woman was had her dirty laundry aired… oh boy. She’d be a pariah, a “scarlet woman”, unfit for marriage or to even give the time of day. That led to limited encounters, and, well, it just seemed smart to brush up on what information is out there. As it turns out, people have written a lot about the fine art of love making. Unfortunately for him, most of it is absolute garbage. Some of the positions he just read about (because at that point, the article was like a train wreck; he badly wanted to look away, but he couldn’t) don’t even sound possible, much less pleasurable. He’s all for society being freer, but good grief!
He’s halfway through a bottle of straight vodka (it won’t have any effect, but he’s hoping maybe the alcohol will travel to his brain and sanitize his eyeballs from most of the shit he just read) when his phone rings. Great. He’s always happy to talk to her, but right now… wow. It’s gonna take him some time to recover, so he hopes she doesn’t need him to say much.
 “Hey, Doll.”
“I am so fucking pissed off right now.” That sounds promising.
 “At what?”
“The city of Bucharest, my apartment, the landlord, whoever the fuck did the plumbing in this building! God!” She’s clearly out of breath, so it takes a minute before she can speak again. “I’m sorry, Buck. It’s just that I came home from work, and one of my neighbors told me the entire sixth floor is under a good inch, inch and a half of water.” Wait-
 “How-”
“I don’t know. Busted pipe. It’s leaked down onto the fifth floor, so I’ve got about fifty other pissed off people for company.”
 “Jesus.”
She chuckles harshly. “Yeah, we could use him right about now to perform a miracle. This is a shit show, and I haven’t even told you the best part.”
“So the spontaneous flood wasn’t the highlight of your day?”
“I fucking wish! So, naturally, I tried to call the landlord, along with basically everyone else. Get this: since it’s after five o’clock on a Friday, he’s not gonna do anything. Told us collectively to suck it up! And of course, when there’s a leak, they have to cut the power…” He’s starting to see a pattern here.
She sighs. “I really needed to get that off my chest. How are you?” Still slightly weirded out by the information overload, but feeling a little more steady now that he’s got a good catastrophe to concentrate on. However, that’s probably not the best answer to go with.
 “Better than you are.”
“What, the sky isn’t falling where you are?” He chuckles.
“No, it’s right where it’s supposed to be.”  Which reminds him… “But since it seems like you’re short a functional home, why don’t you just stay here until they sort things out?” He’s got a couch that, while it doesn’t have anything on an actual bed, he can manage to sleep on for the next few nights. Or maybe they can share his bed. He shakes his head. That thought needs to be put to the side, even if it’s meant in the most innocent way possible. Of course, in case she decides to cash in that rain check…
“Yes. I mean, that would be great, if you’re sure.”
“I’m sure.” Actually, he can’t think of a better way to spend the weekend. The plan was to meet up either Saturday or Sunday, possibly both, so this isn’t that far out of the ordinary.
“Okay, but just a warning: They’re not letting us go up to our floor in case there’s been electrical damage as well-” That’s smart. If the pipes are in that bad of condition, who knows what the wiring looks like. “-so all I have is my purse, backpack, and what I wore to work. No toothbrush or pajamas, or anything like that.”
“That’s alright. All you have to bring is yourself.” He’ll have to look, but he’s pretty sure he has something in his closet that’ll work okay for her until she gets the all clear to go into her apartment. Plus, there’s a laundry mat just around the corner, not to mention a pharmacy.
“Thank you. I really appreciate it.”
“Not a problem.” He glances at his bedside clock. Five thirty-four. It takes roughly half an hour to get across the city by bus, so… “I’ll see you around six fifteen?”
 “See you then.”
As soon as the line goes dead, he springs into action. First thing’s first: make sure there’s no dirty clothes, old dishes, or trash laying around. That takes all of five minutes. He should probably check that he does indeed have something she can wear so they won’t have to fumble around later. Tshirts are pretty universal and… yes, he has a few pajama bottoms that have a drawstring waist. How much time does he have left? The phone screen lights up, giving him his answer. Twenty-seven minutes. More than enough time to run around the corner and pick up a few things.
His intention is to buy the basics: spare toothbrush, deodorant, hairbrush, maybe a different shampoo than his three-in-one body wash (it’s convenient for him, but she might prefer something designated for hair specifically). But, well, there’s quite a few aisles, and he gets sucked in. Does he need to buy razors, or is that rude, like he thinks she’s hairy? What about aspirin? How often do most people get headaches? He honestly can’t remember.
By the time he realizes that he really needs to get a move on, his basket is full and he has no idea what aisle he’s on. Desperately, he looks around, and his eyes land on… huh. So they just have them out in the open these days. Last time he was in the market for that, he had to beg a married friend to make the purchase for him. He briefly wonders if he’ll need to produce proof of marriage or something similar, but pushes the thought to the side. It’s the 2000s. He can probably just go up to the register and pay, and no one will give him a second look. But there’s just one problem: which brand? He should google… suddenly remembering his adventure from earlier today, he decides to just go with his gut and pick one. There. Now, he needs to pay and get the fuck out of here because there’s only ten minutes left, and he’d rather not have these out in the open, in case she thinks that’s the reason he’s asked her to stay over. If it happens, great. If not… well, he’s made it for the past seventy years. What’s a few more?
___________________________________________________________________________________
She was still pretty shaken up when she arrived at his apartment, carrying her backpack and purse, slightly damp from the drizzle of rain now covering the city. But immediately receiving a long hug, being instructed to make herself at home, and hearing the offer to take a shower so she could warm up did a lot to restore her good mood.
It was one of the sweetest thing she’s ever experienced in a lifetime where most people have showed her their worst, going into that bathroom and finding a new toothbrush, stick of deodorant, nail clippers, hairbrush, and even shampoo. That and Barnes bashfully informing her that, “I’ll stay in the living room until you’re done. Take your time.” She almost suggested that he just join her in an attempt to broach the subject they left off on two nights ago, but thought better of it. She’s just started to strip when a knock comes from the other side of the wall.
“Sorry. I just remembered that I forgot to give you a change of clothes. Can I leave them outside the door?” A smile forms on her face.
“Sure. Go ahead.” No one’s given this much thought to her comfort or boundaries before. Yet another reason she knows this is the right decision.
She doesn’t stay in the shower for long, just enough time to wash and stop shivering. After toweling off and brushing out her hair, she cracks open the door. Sure enough, a worn but clean tshirt and pair of pajama bottoms are waiting for her. The familiar scent of the laundry detergent he uses envelopes her as she dresses and, at long last, leaves the safety of the bathroom.
True to his word, he’s still sitting on the couch, thumbing through a book she gave him some months back (he’s missed so many feats of literature that have made their way into pop culture; today’s choice is The Hobbit because, while it was out before everything happened to him, he’s never read it) when she emerges. Just in case he’s so absorbed that he hasn’t heard her, she repeats his gesture from earlier and knocks softly on the wall.
“Hey. I’m out. You can have your apartment back.”
“Hey.” That smile always makes her feel slightly unsteady on her feet. “Find everything okay?”
“I did.” She settles into the place next to him. “Thank you, by the way. You didn’t have to go out and get supplies.”
“I know.” He nods, hand closing around hers. “But I wanted to make sure you had whatever you needed.”
They chat for a while about their days, discuss what they should do with the weekend ahead, even throw out ideas for dinner. The entire time, she’s trying to figure out the best way to bring up that she’d really like to finish what they started the other night. However, by the time he’s left to grab some sort of takeout, she’s still no closer to an answer.
Fortunately, their dates usually follow a pattern. Food, a movie, and then the not-so-innocent cuddles. This time, he’s on top of her when she feels the tell-tale sign that he’s as fired up as she is, so she suggests,
“Do want to maybe move to somewhere more comfortable?” His already dilated pupils grow even larger, and he nods.
“Yeah. That sounds like a plan.” She waits for him to roll off of her and head towards the bedroom before she grabs her purse and, digging around inside, grabs one of the foil packages she bought after their last date.
It’s only once she closes the door behind her, shutting them into an enclosed space with a bed (not to mention it’s pretty damn clear what both of their intentions are), that nerves get the better of her.  He takes a step towards her, and she leans up to kiss him, but he ducks his head out of the way.
“You’re shaking.” His hand ghosts over her arm, making it obvious that, by comparison, she’s practically vibrating on the spot.
“Sorry.” She chuckles nervously. “It’ll pass.”
“It’s alright.” As he says it, he meets her eyes. “We can stop. Nothing has to happen.”
“I know.” She nods, swallowing hard. “But I want it to.” Their lips briefly meet before he pulls away again.
“Let me ask you, just before we get started, is this-” He stops short, eyes darting from her face to the wall and back again. “...have you… before?” Oh. “Not that it matters, not to me, I just wanted to know so that-”
“I have.” She nods, feeling heat rise to her cheeks. “Once. I was eighteen, and-” It was awful. She’d been seeing the guy for a few months and he kept whining about her not putting out, so she decided to get it over with. He went in dry without any warning, and when she asked him to stop, give her a second to adjust, he told her he couldn’t. She was bleeding and in pain for days afterwards, and to top it off, when her period was late, she thought that, even though he’d pulled out, she was pregnant. That turned out not to be the case, but it, along with the fact that she usually doesn’t stay in one place for very long, has put a damper on her ever wanting to do that again. Except for now. “-it wasn’t a great experience.”
“I’m sorry.” On instinct, she searches for the judgment in his face, the disgust. It’s nowhere to be found, only genuine sympathy. “I’ll do my best to make sure this time is better. That is, if you’re still up to it.”
“I am.” Not waiting for a reply, she wraps her arms around him and starts trailing kisses up his neck towards his ear. “I am. I trust you.” She hears his breath catch, but before she can comment, he’s hoisted her up and is carrying her in the direction of the bed.
As he sets her down, she pulls him on top of her, letting her hands wander over his sides, up his back. After a few moments, she feels his fingers move from her hips to toy with the hem of her… his.. shirt.
“Is this okay? Can I take this off?” She starts to nod, but remembers just in time that he’s so close, they’d butt heads.
“Please.” She expected to feel exposed once she was at least partially undressed, but instead she feels… adored. His eyes are roaming over her newly exposed skin, though his hands have respectfully returned to her waist. In a moment of confidence, she reaches behind her and unhooks her bra. There. Now she’s completely shirtless.
“You’re so beautiful.” The flush from her cheeks is spreading down her neck, but she still smiles.
“Care to make things even?” It’s brief, but she catches the look of hesitation.
“Sure.” Before she can offer to do it, he shrugs his shirt over his head, revealing to her, for the first time, the entirity of his metal arm. She must look for a moment too long, because with a shrug, he informs her, “I can put my shirt back on. No big deal. I know there’s some scarring…” That’s not going to fly. She needs to reassure him, make him feel as desired as he’s made her feel.
“Or if you want to stop-” She stands and, after briefly making eye contact, places a kiss on the most prominent scar.
“Don’t you dare think that way for a second.” They’re flush against each other, chest to bare chest. “Not for one.” Slowly, she slides her hands from his shoulders down to his waist, hesitating just over the button. “Is this okay?” Another shakey breath.
 “Yes.”
Going forward, it’s much less awkward. The rest of their clothing is shed, and soon they’re back to their previous position; on the bed, with him on top of her. She feels his fingertips brush the inside of her thigh and gasps.
“May I touch you?” She nods.
 “You’d better.”
It’s gentle, more of him feeling her out than anything else. Still, she can’t help but think this is infinitely better already than last time around. Suddenly, he pulls his hand away, and it takes all her effort not to whine at the loss of contact. Before she can ask if something’s wrong, does he want to stop, he’s flat on his stomach, head between her legs.
“Tell me if you need me to stop.”
“What-” Her breath catches as it becomes infinitely clear what he’s doing.
Again, she’s expecting pain when, after several minutes he eases a finger into her, but at this point, she’s so wet that there’s absolutely no difficulty.
 “Are you okay?” She nods.
 “Don’t stop.”
The process is agonizingly slow, he’s so intent on his task. When, finally, he pulls away, she’s so close that she can almost taste it.
 “Do you still want to-”
“If you don’t stop asking me that, I’m gonna slap you.” It’s a joke, and she thinks he knows it, but just to be sure, she siezes his hand (the metal one, which is usually cold but has now warmed from being held close against her body. “I’m ready, so long as you want this too.”
“I do. You wouldn’t believe how much.” Yeah, she thinks she would. “Just give me a second.” Perfect timing. He rolls off of her, which gives her the opening she needs to grab the packet she managed to hide under the pillow while he was… otherwise distracted. When he returns from digging inside the wardrobe, she holds it up, only to realize-
“Oh.” He’s got one as well. “Seems like we both came prepared.”
He chuckles. “Just in case, although that wasn’t why I asked you to stay.”
“I know.” She nods and pats the space next to her. “Not why I said yes either, although I can’t say I’m disappointed.”
He returns to the bed and drops his packet onto the nightstand. “Save this one for later?”
 “Definitely.”
There is a bit of discomfort once he starts to push inside her, but it’s not painful. Just… overwhelming. Slightly embarassed she asks,
“Can you wait a second? Please?”
“Of course. Are you alright?” She shifts her hips slightly, making them both groan.
 “Fine. You can move now.”
She may have only done this once before, and she has no idea what his experience consists of, but as she hits her peak mere seconds before he does, gently coaxed over the edge, she can’t help but think some things are better the second time around.
“I love you.” It’s whispered against her neck as, once she cleans up and returns to bed, she settles herself against him.
 “I love you too.”
___________________________________________________________________________________
The first thing he thinks when he realizes that he’s not alone in bed is that HYDRA’s found him. He’s being activated. His eyes shoot open although apart from that he doesn’t move a muscle, and that’s when he recognizes the person next to him. It’s her. She’s here.
The events of last night come back to him all at once, and he feels a smile forming on his face. It’s been a while, and in any case, it would be wrong to run a comparison, but what they shared, the pure intimacy of it both physically and mentally was incredible. Maybe he should feel a sense of shame. That’s what he was taught growing up. But instead he feels… peaceful.
That is, until her eyelids flutter and she rolls over, shifting the covers so that he gets a good view of her still naked body, and with it, the bruises on her thighs and hips. Bruises unmistakably left by his fingers. Dammit. He’s done the last thing he ever wanted to do: he’s hurt her.
“Good morning, sleepy head.” She yawns, the teasing words muffled. “It seems like we overslept.”
His mouth goes dry, and all he can manage to choke out is a simple, “Yeah.”
She frowns, sitting up slightly, and lets out a small groan. “You alright there, Bucky? You look a little off.” The late morning light only serves to highlight more marks he’s left, this time on her shoulders, neck, and breasts. Stubble burn. Hickeys. Why the hell was he so rough? At the time, he thought he was being gentle, but obviously he’s just as much of a monster as Bucky Barnes as he is once the Winter Soldier takes over.
She’s still staring at him, brow furrowing in concern.
“Fine.” He clears his throat and begins to sit up. “Stay here. I’ll make you a cup of tea, maybe some oatmeal.”
“Alright. Don’t be gone too long.”
Her words follow him out of the room, and into the kitchen. Fuck. He should’ve known better.
Maybe once upon a time, he was a decent man, one who could be with a woman like  her and not do her a disservice. But now, it’s clear that he falls short in every way. In an act that was supposed to be pure pleasure, a way of communicating how much they mean to each other, he’s hurt her.
“I trust you.” The words from last night ring in his ears. He shouldn’t have let her. It’s pretty damn obvious that, even at the best of times, he can’t be trusted.
“Tell me what’s going on.” Even with his enhanced senses, he still jumps in surprise as the unexpected words come from behind him. He turns around slowly, not wanting to startle her. She’s standing there, clad in only one of his shirts, arms crossed over her chest (now bearing his marks), staring him down.
 “Nothing.” He shakes his head.
“Bullshit. I had a vision of you staring off into space, and here you are, jumpy as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.” At another time, her choice in phrases would make him chuckle, but right now, he can’t muster it.
“Last night-” Her eyes widen, but she stays silent. “I hurt you.”
“No, you didn’t. Not at all.”
 “I did.”
She frowns. “Bucky, I think I’d know if you’d hurt me, and I’m telling you, I’m fine.”
“Doll, look at yourself!” He reaches out to take her arm, but immediately freezes. “Go in the bathroom and take off your shirt. Take a good look in the mirror and then tell me I didn’t hurt you.”
“Alright.” Her jaw clenches, and she marches off in the direction of the bathroom. A deep sickness gnaws at the pit of his stomach and, completely worn out, he sinks into a kitchen chair.
Not thirty seconds pass before she walks back into the room, this time completely undressed.
“Tell me you’re not talking about a few love bites.”
“And bruises! You may not have noticed, but they’re in the exact shape of my fingertips.”
“Oh my god!” She shakes her head. “It’s a sex injury. A minor one at that! If you didn’t heal so damn fast, you’d probably have nail marks all over your back!”
 “That’s not the same thing.”
“How is it not the same thing?”
 “I’m a monster! And you’re not.”
She takes a determined step towards him, and he leans as far back as the chair will allow.
“Bucky, you are not a monster, and I am not afraid of you.”
“Then you’re stupid.” He hates himself for his sharp words, but she needs to take this seriously. Underestimating how dark, how evil he can be, is a mistake. A deadly one.
 “Hey!”
“Don’t you get it?” Without any input from his brain, he stands. “They could find me, and with a few words, I could stare you dead in the eyes as I murdered you! If you were my mission, I wouldn’t even hesitate, and you’d be dead before your body hit the floor!” Her mouth falls open, but she immediately closes it again. “This isn’t something that can be worked through with some patience and a positive attitude! I could kill you!”
“So could a million other things!” Her voice rises in volume, and before he can contain it-
“But they’re not in the bed sleeping next to you!” He’s shouting at her. God. Everyone is right. He’s beyond saving.
A few tense seconds pass before she looks up at him, a steely look in her eyes.
“Look, I get it. I know what you could do to me.” As she speaks, she pulls out a chair and sits. “But I could also get run over when I cross the road, or the room could fill with carbon monoxide while I sleep. I could have an aneurysm and drop before anyone knows what’s happening.”
He opens his mouth to tell her the likelihood of any of those things happening is far lower than the chance that he’ll hurt her, this time in a major way, but she holds up a hand, silencing him.
“I’m gonna be cautious, but I’m also not going to live my life in fear that the ceiling is going to collapse or nuclear war is going to strike, or that someone is gonna turn up and say the magic words that make you go cuckoo for cocoa puffs-” What? “-and I just realized you’re too old for that reference.”
“That’s another thing-” He’s about to remind her exactly how big their age gap is, that although he’s physically close to her age, chronologically, he’s closer to the age of her great grandfather, but she lets out a sudden groan of frustration, and that makes him bite his tongue.
“Oh, fuck off, Barnes! If you’re about to start in on how you’re too old for me, then I’m not gonna wait for you to go full Winter Soldier before I kick your ass!” Out of all things, that’s what snaps him out of it, makes him feel like maybe, just maybe, there’s still a chance they can make the best of things.
 Smirking, he asks her,
“You think you could kick my ass? Really?” It must be the breaking point for her too, because she snickers.
“Of course. It’s the little bitches you have to watch out for.”  That’s it, he’s laughing, nearly doubled over, and from the looks of things, she’s in much the same state.
“You’re something else, you know that?” He asks between stilted breaths.
“I think we both fit in that category, Pal.” Her smile fades, but only slightly. “Bucky, if you really want me to go, if that’s what’ll give you peace, then I’ll do it, but I meant what I said. I trust you.” Never. He’ll never want her to go, he’s sure of it. Well then, that only leaves one option.
“I know what we’re doing today.” It’s an abrupt segue, but it’s the only thing he could come up with on short notice.
“And what’s that?”  The microwave dings, reminding him that he needs to stir the oatmeal, and he pushes past her.
“Sit down and have your tea. You’re going to need all your energy if I’m gonna show you how to use a gun.” If she’s staying, then at least he can teach her how to defend herself beyond the basics she already knows.
“So I guess this means you’re keeping me around for a little while longer?” It’s spoken like a joke, but he turns to her, meeting her eyes to drive the point home.
“Yeah, Doll. As long as you want me."

Impromptu Ramblings about the NEO:TWEWY Demo
In case y'all weren't aware, I've been a pretty big fan of TWEWY for a couple years now, and with the sequel coming out next month, the excitement I feel for this game is greater than ever :) I played the Demo for the first time yesterday, and following a couple views of some livestreams of others playing it, I felt like sharing my (very ramble-y) thoughts prior to the release of the full game. This post WILL contain spoilers for both TWEWY and NEO:TWEWY, so if you want to avoid those from now on, please block the tags: #twewy spoilers, #ntwewy spoilers, #neo twewy spoilers, #ntwewy, and #neo twewy ^_^ Oh, and if you wanna keep up with any other posts I make about my experience with this game, please refer to the tag "kat plays neo twewy" :)
-First things first: I have not watched the Final Trailer and I don't plan on doing so to avoid spoilers, especially after the pre-release era of KH3 where a lot of the later trailers spoiled a lot of the endgame content. That being said, I've seen some minor screenshots from the final trailer including what many believe to be characters from the original TWEWY, namely Shiki and Joshua. That is all I know about the Final Trailer and I would very much like to remain as blind as possible going into NEO :)
-The very first cutscene was quite ominous in the sense that this game is likely going to be about "changing fate" (a recently common theme in Squeenix games, which I do appreciate), perhaps leading off from the end of A New Day in the OG and trying to stop an Inversion of Shibuya. Also worth noting that A New Day had similar aspects in which the main character experienced "future visions" of tragic events, although in A New Day these events were not able to be changed, while in NEO it seems like one of the main "powers" our protagonist has is specifically to rewrite these events and avoid a "bad ending." Very interesting indeed!
-I really like the revamped comic book style dialogue scenes, it's much more fluid and modern, which is an excellent direction for the series to take!
-I would love to have an actual PokemonGO knockoff of Final Fantasy creatures, please Squeenix that would be incredibleeeeee
-Also the LINE stickers??? Are so cute???
-I would just like to point out that Fret is an absolute treasure throughout this entire demo, he's hilarious and I will protect him with my life
-UHHHH don't like that Fret picked up some Reaper Pins just out of nowhere.....or the fact that they're apparently popular all over Shibuya.............did y'all not learn anything from the OG game or what lmao
-Okay so when I first got the "curry or ramen" scene and heard NPCs talking about the new curry place replacing the old ramen place I became IMMENSELY distressed that Ramen Don was totally cut from the game because....well, Ramen Don is a King okay?? But I'm glad to learn that no, he didn't fall off the face of the earth, he's still in business and he's the one opening the curry restaurant lolol. PHEW, crisis averted!
-.....I don't like the sudden appearance of a Wall Reaper and being able to read NPC thoughts. Wtf happened when they left the ramen place??? Are they playing the Game alive somehow?
-Okay so I have my own theories about this "Swallow" character and what they're up to but considering this is only the Demo and I still Have No Idea What's Happening, I'm just gonna say that I think Swallow intentionally led Rindo and Fret to the Crossing so they could join the Game. I mean, add in the fact that Swallow still communicates with Rindo during the Game and you've got yourself a suspicious character right there lol
-"Hey they're shooting off fireworks!" Fret honey that's not fireworks oof (see also: "*laughs* I'm in danger")
-WOOOOOO way to traumatize Rindo right off the bat like that LMAOO
-The visuals for the intro are VERY GOOD, the song is pretty decent until it gets all "screamo" (which I absolutely cannot stand sorry lol)
-Shoka is every Customer Service employee ever and I respect that
-Susukichi went from being "meh" to "WOW THIS GUY IS FUN" in the span of 10 seconds and I also respect that (he is also built like an Absolute Unit which is hilarious)
-The Wall Reapers (and just Reapers in general) seem.....way nicer and more helpful this time around?? Like in the OG the Wall Reapers were SO RUDE gfhjgjdfkhn and yeah I'm sure we'll get some like that but the juxtaposition of the first Wall Reaper in the OG compared to the first one in NEO is insane.
-The puzzles are quite a bit more entertaining this time around even if it's generally the same "fetch quest" formula lol
-"Rindo's Group" way to go Fret HFKJDGHSDFKJ mans really left the default name in there lmao
-OKAYOKAYOKAY so to those who aren't aware I am a MASSIVE SIMP for Sho Minamimoto, he's my absolute favorite and I think about him daily. HIS INTRODUCTION IS. INCREDIBLE. I LOVE IT SM.
-GOD hearing him actually SPEAK FULL SENTENCES is just SO SURREAL I love this sm
-Also the remix of his theme???? NEO TRANSFORMATION????? IT'S SO GOOD????????? It's like gone from a Boss Theme to a more triumphant sounding theme and I am HERE for it (every version of Transformation is just INCREDIBLE and getting a new one is even better)
-I Love Him, Your Honor
-Also idk how exactly but it's kinda weird seeing Sho in the OG vs NEO, cuz while he's mostly the same Insane Math-Obsessed Catboy, he's.....calmed down quite a bit?? Like OG made a whole point of how poorly he cooperates with others (not to mention just being completely unhinged and trying to kill everyone), whereas here in NEO he's......actually kinda working with others??? HELLO???? Sir what happened to you and Neku during those 3 years I would love to know all about it
-I guarantee you Sho is still probably scheming shite and will likely pull some total insane BS later down the road, and I am very much looking forward to that. Also, is he looking for a certain Pin or something??? Cuz he keeps talking about different Pins and even mentions "this is just another Psych Pin" like he's actively looking for a Pin to do something with. Maybe it also has to do with the "latent powers of Players" thing he mentioned as well??? What is this dude UP TO oml (also is he in contact with Neku at all?? they're both technically fugitives at this point right?? WHAT HAPPENED AFTER A NEW DAY I AM BEGGING YOU)
-I seems like Sho ALSO has an idea of what's going on in this specific game (even if he won't admit it straightforward). Per his quote "The game's 142,857. Factor it out," he's essentially saying, "This game is a neverending cyle, figure out how to get out of it" (or at least that's what I got from his "cyclic number" nonsense lolol)
-I do like how Sho mostly stays out of sight until he's needed for a battle or assisting with a mission, that's kind of on par with his whole "uncooperative" quirk from the OG, plus he might literally have to stay out of sight of other Reapers and Players considering he's likely breaking the rules of the Game (not surprising considering him and Neku broke practically every rule in the book during OG)
-The nicknames for Sho- I can't- They're so FUNNYYYY GFHJSDFKJ
-He goes from being called "Pi-Face" and "Tabooty" in OG to "Mr. Minami" and "M-Teezy" in NEO LMAOO
-(Wowee I just realized I've been mostly talking about Sho oopsies sorry y'all, this is what I meant by thinking about him almost daily he is THAT much of a fav of mine ghfkjsd)
-Okay RIP Fret and Rindo for not getting literally ANY explanation as to how the Game works OOF, that is kinda cringe that whoever gets the Pin earns points, not whoever erases the Noise (which like I understand but also URRRGGHHH I WANNA SEE THE SQUAD SUCCEED)
-"I should be going home now it's getting late" Oh you sweet summer child-
-Also love the mention of parents in this game???? KH you could learn a thing or two from TWEWY (poor Rindo's mom fhgjkdh)
-KUBO IS HILARIOUS I SUPPORT HIM AND HIS GROSS FACE (also thank you Final Trailer thumbnail for spoiling my suspicions about him very cool smh)
-Kaie is a LAD I also support him, go King type those funky texts I believe in you
-FRET PLS STOP SCANNING FHGJKSDHKJFGHFKJ he's like me when I scan in OG during Weeks 2 and 3 and see Taboo Noise coming after me ghfjdshfj
-Also Rindo can you stay off your phone for TWO SECONDS ik you're trying to figure things out but Fret is a jelly boi and I don't want him to be upset with you my guy
-Sho being an actual sorta mentor to the kiddos?? Who are you sir this is so unlike you ghfgskj what happened to the guy who tried shooting children in the face 8 times over LMAO (granted he's probably just using them but it's still nice to see him actually cooperating and sharing knowledge with the kiddos aaaaa)
-EYO EIJI OJI THE TIKTOK INFLUENCER IS BACK LMAO
-hgjkfshgkjf "we aren't glorifying capitalism on my watch" THATS SO FUNNY TO ME GFHJFSDGHJKS (also an all-orange ensemble is disgusting you deserve jail for one thousand years fkn Cheddar Goldfish Cheezit ass woman)
-WICKED TWISTERS NAME DROP EYOOO we love to see it
-gfhsgjf Poor Rindo embarassing himself for the sake of the Game that's incredible
-R e t u r n t o M O N K E. That is all.
-Dialogue during boss battles is HELLA cool i love that
-HHHHH THE KANON SCENE MADE ME A N G E R Y FRET STOP SIMPING MY GUY says the girl with a Literal Simp Encyclopedia and simps for pixels on a screen daily
-Can't wait to see the other Reapers :eyes emoji:
-CAN'T WAIT TO SEE NAGI MY BELOVED YEAHHHH WOOOOOO AAAAND that's about it for the demo lolol, I absolutely CANNOT wait for next month, this game is gonna be INCREDIBLE holy hell Prepare for more simping, more screaming, and more vibing from Yours Truly :) I fully intend on sharing more general thoughts like this on both Tumblr and Twitter so it's not just reblog-retweet-reblog-retweet with the occasional comment fhgskjd

Life under President Sigma Seven
I found this old text file on a hard drive from 2013 (it’s hauntingly prescient in a few places).  It’s my narrative version of a game of Democracy 3 (2?) I was playing with some marginal success, finally.  Sadly, it just cuts off in 2020.  I either got bored or started losing badly, can’t remember which....
(I tweaked a Chargers-miss-the-playoffs reference to refer to their move to LA.  I still don’t want to talk about it.)
Anyhow, enjoy the fact that I forgot the inauguration would be in 2017, not 2016 (I may have been tired/medicated while composing this little missive):
Wednesday, January 20, 2016 After running on a platform based largely on contempt for the American voter and promising to bring back Firefly, Ironic Anarchist Party candidate Sigma Seven was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States and the first to have successfully completed the entire Mass Effect trilogy.
Seven's inauguration address reiterated his campaign's primary goals: eliminating crime, erasing the deficit, making inroads on the national debt, increasing Americans' health, and ending poverty.  The particulars of this initiative were still somewhat vague, though he used the word "magnets" 76 times during his speech.
Monday, February 15, 2016 The first major act of the Seven administration came with the signing of the Moar Police OMG Bill, which increases spending on national and local police and investigative staff from $31 billion to $51.65 billion.  Despite an $8.63 billion deficit and a $3.1 trillion dollar debt, the bill gained widespread support from grassroots initiatives, especially among conservatives.
A highly-placed source inside the White House indicates funding for various national intelligence services has also increased, but that could not be confirmed.
Friday, March 18, 2016 President Seven signed into law the All Your Jailz Are Belong To Us Bill, which allowed the operation of privately-owned and -managed prisons.  Consolidation of the prison system, Seven said, would bring consistency to the incarceration of American prisoners.  This move has been largely applauded by liberal and civil rights groups.
Monday, March 28, 2016 President Seven's approval rating has taken a minor two-percentage-point drop, giving him 23.6% approval nationwide.  The president insists much of the dissent can be blamed on Joss Whedon's unwillingness to return his phone calls.
Friday, April 1, 2016 President Seven signed legislation curtailing the activity of debt collection agencies, restricting use of unsolicited phone calls and capping interest rates for short-term loans.  Multiple occurrences of the word "dirtbags" in the law were scratched out in the bill's final draft by a sheepish-looking vice president.
Monday, April 11, 2016 President Seven signed the Electric Punchbug Initiative today, increasing federal subsidies for hybrid vehicles from $1 billion to $3.7 billion.  An unnoticed clause in the 3,590-page document, requiring all such vehicles to be bug-shaped and/or bug-painted, went completely unnoticed by legislators of both parties until a gloating president pointed it out, snickering, during his morning press conference.  President Seven has promised any future expansion of federal health care laws will cover punchbug-related injuries.
Friday, April 15, 2016 President Seven waited until late Friday afternoon to sign the Sip It And Grip It Bill, which institutes a nationwide 75% tax on all alcohol sold for human consumption.  Notes left on a Post-It on the White House front door indicate that this measure is more of a deterrent than an attempt at leveraging an income source, and also, "sorry lol."
Thursday, May 5, 2016 President Seven signed the Phoenix Wright Law today, increasing federal legal aid from $4.77 billion to $9.31 billion, effective August 1.  While the move was applauded by liberal and social justice groups, President Seven did not hold a press conference, only issuing a statement acknowledging that "y'all prolly still pissed off about the booze thing."
Monday, March 23, 2016 President Seven signed the Personal Information Collection Allowed to Be Unveiled Act, extending and expanding the Freedom of Information Act to databases of personal data held by medical, insurance, and debt-collection entities.  The PICABU Act would not extend to personal web browser or search history, the president insisted to a press corps which had collectively stopped breathing.
Wednesday, June 1, 2016 Amid reports of a gradual downturn of the national crime rate, President Seven is enjoying a personal-best 48% approval rating, with retired, conservative, and state-employee focus groups giving the highest marks.
Monday, June 13, 2016 The president's two-week vacation kicked off today with news that he had quietly signed the Yeah I Did That Thing Again Act, which increases national taxation of tobacco products from 11% to 75%.  The move will bring in an additional estimated $90 billion per quarter, but polls indicate that literally 0% of Americans approve of increasing tobacco laws.  The president was, unsurprisingly, unavailable for comment, and the vice president is currently hiding behind large pieces of furniture.
Friday, August 12, 2016 In a prime-time televised statement, the president announced that a top-secret military raid by a classified unit in a classified location had captured the mastermind of a terrorist network, the identity of both being...classified.  High-resolution pool photographs of the president indicated the phrase "I ain't telling you shit" crossed out on his printed speech notes.
Monday, August 22, 2016 The Bureau of Justice Statistics announced this morning that the wave of antisocial conduct which had plagued the country for a year was officially broken, and that national crime rates have dropped 26.7% since January.
Wednesday, August 31, 2016 Amid bipartisan support, the president signed the Race Discrimination Act into law today, a move lauded not only by minority and liberal groups, but 70% of the entire American populace, as well.
Monday, October 3, 2016 President Seven signed his nationwide recycling imitative today, providing $9.33 billion in government funds for universal doorside collection of most recyclable household products.
Friday, October 28, 2016 The Federal Reserve announced today that an uptick in the gross domestic product helped eliminate the budget deficit, and a $168.36 billion budget surplus has lowered the national debt to under $3 trillion.  President Seven issued a statement consisting entirely of a yelled "I done tol' you!" with an emphatic right-hand two-finger gesture, after which he strutted back to the Oval Office.
Tuesday, November 22, 2016 The National Center on Family Homelessness reported today that despite drops in crime and unemployment, the number of Americans living in poverty has increased 28% since January.  President Seven unveiled an anti-poverty task force in a Rose Garden ceremony today, off-handedly mentioning "I was getting around to this, sorry."
Monday, November 28, 2016 A new bill pushed through conference committee at presidential behest would expand the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, popularly known as food stamps, by $4 billion to $23.47 billion by January.  The president announced that this was just the first step in what would be a series of measures to combat American poverty and homelessness, both of which have increased under his administration.
Sunday, December 4, 2016 Following the San Diego Chargers' announced move to Los Angeles, the president interrupted prime-time programming for a special announcement that, after analysis, turned out to be nothing but an uninterrupted string of profanity, sometimes in different languages or reversed or ROT13'd.  An executive order signed an hour earlier gave the president the capacity to "say whatever the [heck] I want on TV."
Tuesday, December 13, 2016 Spurred by poor earnings and increasing poverty levels, several prominent trade unions have called for a general strike to begin at midnight.  The strike's purpose, say labor leaders, is to advocate for a living wage and better health coverage for current workers as well as unemployment assistance.
Friday, December 23, 2016 When Congress reconvenes after the holiday break, they will begin debate on the most ambitious of President Seven's proposals: the Back to School Act, which would burn off almost the entire federal budget surplus on public education, increasing funding from $94.27 billion to a proposed $228 billion in three years.  President Seven says the measure is a necessary step to fight poverty and unemployment in the long term.
Tuesday, January 3, 2017 The Centers for Disease Control announced that alcohol consumption in the United States has decreased by 48% in the last year.
Monday, January 9, 2017 As expected, the United States' credit rating has been downgraded to CCC amid economic uncertainty and labor strife.
Tuesday, February 28, 2017 With approval ratings at a personal-best 58%, President Seven is nevertheless, by his own admission, "hiding out" at Camp David amid reports of a budget deficit over $300 billion.
Monday, April 3, 2017 Despite a recent sweatshop scandal, congressional and labor leaders announced the Peoria Accord, ending the general strike that had stifled the American economy for four months.
Tuesday, June 6, 2017 Despite the president not making a public appearance in three months, the Community Policing Initiative of 2017, which was left on his desk in the Oval Office, was found, signed, by White House clerks early this morning.  The bill will provide $14.51 billion in funding for community watch groups to act in cooperation with local law enforcement.  The president is rumored to have gained access to the White House by being disguised as a Coke machine.
Monday, July 3, 2017 On the eve of the nation's birthday, the Environmental Protection Agency announced that pollution levels in the United States were at their lowest in 40 years.
Monday, July 11, 2017 A dramatic rebound of the nation's gross domestic product has turned a $300 billion deficit into a $194.48 billion surplus, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.
Monday, July 24, 2017 From an undisclosed location, President Seven announced via Skype his approval of the Pell Grant expansion sent to his desk last week.  The bill, which the president has indicated he would sign, will raise the amount of government grants for university education from $107 billion a year to over $240 billion year by January of next year.
Wednesday, August 9, 2017 After confessing to binge-watching From the Earth to the Moon on NetFlix, President Seven signed a bill increasing NASA funding by 20%, with the agency's new goal the establishment of a permanent space station.
Wednesday, September 20, 2017 The Beltway rumor mill is working overtime after reporters discovered White House Press Secretary Heather Campbell's updated resume on LinkedIn.
Wednesday, October 18, 2017 President Seven returned to Washington for the first time in several months amid reports of a new general strike, rising pollution levels, and a swoon in the gross domestic product.  He was unhappy to return, he expressed in terms not fit for public consumption.
Monday, November 6, 2017 To bipartisan acclaim and in light of a renewed budget surplus, President Seven repealed the nationwide car tax today.  The only major lobbying group to oppose the repeal was the Survivors of Punchbug Trauma, whose membership has swelled in the last several months.
Tuesday, November 28, 2017 Even amid the general strike, labor groups are applauding the Seven administration's offer of extended coffee breaks for all American workers.  However, a late-minute lobby by the American Heart Association has curtailed the president's mandatory coffee break plans, at least for the time being.
Tuesday, December 5, 2017 In what insiders are calling a "watershed moment" in the American penal system, President Seven is proposing a complete overhaul of the nation's prisons, championing what he says would refocus the mission of the facilities from containment to re-education and rehabilitation with the ultimate goal of producing citizens ready to be reintegrated to society.  Prominent members of both parties have replied anonymously with "Yeah, right" at least a dozen times. The cost of prison upgrades and maintenance would roughly double over the next year to $64 billion a year.
Wednesday, December 20, 2017 A foreign website has posted what it says are early drafts for an upcoming retooling of the American healthcare system under the name "SevenCare."  The veracity of the posting is undermined by a paragraph that would give the president the powers and privileges of a doctor of any discipline and require that he no longer be addressed as "Mister President" but "Doctor President."
Tuesday, December 26, 2017 An anonymous source in the Seven cabinet has confirmed the accuracy of the SevenCare leak, adding, "You don't want to push the doctor thing, believe me."
Saturday, December 30, 2017 President Seven signed the Mary Kate and Ashley Act into law, making it illegal to employ any American under the age of 16 for more than five hours a week. The Senate invoked cloture after an embarrassing hour of confusing the law with the Miley Cyrus Act, which regulates the acceptable behavior of an extended tongue in a public setting.
Tuesday, January 9, 2018 With President Seven's term nearing the half-way point, his 73% approval rating has been tempered by the downgrade of America's credit rating to a new-low CC.  The president's news conference on the downgrade was marred by the president's inability to say "CC" without immediately following it with "Sabathia." All major international credit agencies issued statements reiterating that there is no such rating as CC Sabathia.
Monday, January 22, 2018 President Seven's State of the Union address made oblique mentions to possible health care reform initiatives, while predicting swift resolution to renewed labor strife and pollution issues while including the fewest number of profanities of any of his previous addresses, coming in at just 40.
Wednesday, January 31, 2018 By executive order, use of the font Comic Sans is now a felony.
Tuesday, February 6, 2018 Congressional Budget Office estimates indicate that the quarterly budget deficit will top $500 billion.
Monday, February 26, 2018 President Seven vetos legislation that would create a nationwide DNA database for tracking suspects, noting that nowhere in the legislation is the word "suspect" defined.
Friday, March 2, 2018 After nine cups of coffee, a confident President Seven announces "I can do anything today" at approximately 8:12 am.  By 4:20 pm, the nationwide general strike is over, studies are released that indicate pollution and alcohol abuse are at new national lows, and the Department of Education says Americans are more prepared and trained for entering the workforce than ever before.
Monday, March 5, 2018 President Seven has been asleep for three days.  According to the Constitution, if he does not awaken tomorrow, he must be jostled in a rousing fashion by the President pro tempore of the Senate.
Tueday, March 6, 2018 The president is awake, but photography has been forbidden under penalty of exsanguination.
Monday, March 19, 2018 After a new poll shows President Seven with an unprecedented 81.9% approval rating, opposition party members have unified their message, emphasizing the nation's most outstanding political issues -- an asthma epidemic, drug abuse, and Internet crime.  The presidential response amounts to three words on official letterhead: "Ain't no thang."  The president also Instagrams himself doing duckface before embarrassingly deleting it.
Friday, April 6, 2018 Press Secretary Heather Campbell has resigned via a Twitter post.  In a sign that the parting is amicable, the president retweeted the resignation tweet without a single Internet acronym or emoticon.  Kathryn Sanchez, a former representative from Arizona whose popularity with trade unions made her a powerful force in the House, is the favorite to replace Campbell, who is said to be working on a book of her experiences in the White House.
Monday, April 23, 2018 During the morning press conference, the Associated Press pool reporter asked the president "Have you seen the new numbers on the national debt?"  The president replied that he had not, and when he heard the figure, as is his wont, responded in many words that cannot be repeated or describe acts of blasphemy or physical improbability.
Tuesday, May 1, 2018 Spurred by last quarter's deficit, the national debt, after fluctuating for the last two years, now stands at $4.3 trillion.  The budget for this quarter, however, is being buoyed by a strong worldwide GDP and is operating under a projected $291 billion surplus.
Wednesday, May 16, 2018 New polls from Gallup indicate presidential approval has dropped over 40 points since March, giving the president a 38% approval rating.  According to the new numbers, the president is barely more popular than stepping on a Lego, botulism, and not being able to find a parking spot downtown.  However, the latest Zogby poll shows the president has a 203% approval rating, numbers even the White House are finding somewhat suspicious.
Friday, June 1, 2018 The president posted an enigmatic Tweet this morning, saying only "see u suckrz in august roflmao," and changing his Twitter location to the simple phrase "nunya."  The president's daily Instagram of his cooling Caribou Coffee clearly shows the outline of a window on Air Force One.
Monday, June 4, 2018 Internet icon Grumpy Cat was welcomed to ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange this morning, but it will remain forever unknown if her presence contributed to the 600-point drop in the Dow Jones Industrial Average and subsequent crash felt across international markets.
Monday, June 11, 2018 Nobel laureate Paul Krugman said today that the nation was in a state of "profound recession," including references to growing pollution concerns and escalating gridlock through major American urban centers.
Wednesday, June 13, 2018 In a 5-4 decision along political lines, the Supreme Court ruled today that laws requiring the president's signature could not be signed via Twitter.  The president later posted a bit.ly link that Rickrolled the entire court.  The court declined to review the legal standing of an Instagrammed signed coffee citing, for some reason, the War Powers Act.
Tuesday, June 26, 2018 The Centers for Disease Control noted today that drug abuse had reached a 60-year low, while the Department of Justice announced that Internet crime was also at a 60-year low...somehow.  The president posted a YouTube link to Geto Boys' "Damn It Feels Good to be a Gangsta," which was promptly taken down for copyright infringement.
Monday, July 2, 2018 Paul Krugman boldly announced that the "American debt crisis is over," noting the country's $92 billion dollar surplus.  Markets replied with indifference and a general malaise.
Wednesday, July 18, 2018 Reports are circulating around the Beltway that a SevenCare proposal is still being revised, though its cost would be in the range of $600 billion a year.  The Doctor President clause has been confirmed to exist by a highly-placed source in the administration.
Wednesday, August 1, 2018 President Seven's bold, confident arrival into Andrews Air Force Base was marred when a reporter asked about the president's plans to run again.  The president closed his eyes tightly and said many words that only adults can use.
Tuesday, August 28, 2018 The Automobile Association of America announced that urban gridlock issues had come to an end, largely due to the injury and treatment of multiple punchbugging.  A law criminalizing the punchbug died in committee last week.
Monday, September 17, 2018 Department of Justice Director Christopher Rodriguez gave his morning press conference in a chicken suit, replying to every question with a series of clucking sounds.  An administration official indicated that Rodriguez may have made a substantial wager on the outcome of yesterday's Kansas City Royals/Washington Nationals game, which the Royals won in extra innings. This account is possibly supported by the president Tweeting the word "chikin" repeatedly for almost two hours.  Privately, Rodriguez is said to be seriously displeased.
Friday, September 21, 2018 A YouTube video posted by a group calling itself the Revolutionary Army made a series of demands and threats against the Seven administration today.  After some research, the Department of Justice found that the Revolutionary Army had threatened terrorist acts against various members of the government for several years, but had done so on Google Plus, so nobody noticed.
Thursday, October 18, 2018 New Gallup polls show the president's approval rating at 78%.  The president seemed moderately stunned during his morning press conference before nodding and saying "Yeah, that's right."
Monday, November 19, 2018 Global economic strain pushed the national budget into a $110 billion deficit and the national debt back to $4.2 trillion.  Amid calls to balance the budget, the president has refused to either increase taxes or cut spending, particularly defense spending, a popular target for deficit hawks.  The president's sole justification for keeping defense spending at its exorbitant rate has been "Don't wanna."
Monday, January 21, 2019 At his State of the Union address, President Seven literally dared the populace to vote for the opposition candidate in the next election.  His ominous statement of "I know where you live" became a mantra, repeated 13 times during his speech.
Wednesday, February 6, 2019 The Southern Poverty Law Center announced today that racial tension in the United States has fallen by a third and crime has been more than halved, indicating a probable endorsement of President Seven in the November election.
Friday, March 18, 2020 President Seven refuses to campaign for reelection and has taken to what his staffers privately call "pouting" in the Oval Office.  Administration officials and party representatives are especially hesitant to prod the president on the issue, as those who do so have had the White House Wi-Fi password changed on them without notice.
April 12, 2020 While opposition party primaries are winding down, the president's reelection campaign has started without him, taking quotes out of context to use as motivational material during rallies and the eventual convention.  At the moment, the campaign's slogan is "Seven '16, I Don't Even Care."
May 4, 2020 An American has become the first person to win the Nobel Prize for Literature with an Internet meme.  The winner, known popularly as LeGaLiZe_420, has credited Adobe Photoshop and the font Impact for his recognition.
June 12, 2020 Worldwide economic forecasts remain dire, even as the United States' credit rating is bumped back up to 'B.'

Just bcos u PERCEIVE SessRin as something that promotes pedophilia and grooming doesn't mean that's how the author portrayed it. It's disappointing to see that antis force such idea, as if they know what's inside Rumiko's mind. It is fine if u find sessrin cringey. Just don't force your idea of pedophilia and grooming as THE CORRECT PORTRAYAL OF SESSRIN.
Hello there, nonnie! You had quite the party in my ask box, I see. Breaking it up in parts may actually help me get to the point and address your concerns swiftly and accordingly. Here goes nothing. 😉
Tumblr media
This answer is for your first two asks by the way. Firstly, you're putting words in my mouth because I do not view Rumiko as an author who promotes pedophilia and child grooming and never have. She never once placed an ounce of romance into their scenes. Rin was essentially introduced to serve as a catalyst for Sesshomaru's character growth. That's major in and of itself, which is why I'm not sure why she needs to be the mom on top of all that she's already done for him. It was you, Sessrin shippers, who had to go and make it romantic, not us. It was you who took every innocent scene and turned it into a romantic one. You'll even use some of their scenes as proof they will end up together, then back-pedal later and say those very same scenes weren't romantic in order to protect the sanctity of your ship. I mean, which is it? It can't be both, it's either one or the other.
I repeat, NO we don’t actually think Rumiko wanted to portray this relationship with pedophillic or grooming tendencies. It's you shippers who insist there is no other way for their relationship to evolve, as if you speak on behalf of Rumiko. Your interpretation of Rumiko's work is what implies child grooming; she may not be condoning it but your perspective sure is. You talk down to antis who disagree, because in your opinion, your interpretation is not only superior but already canon in your eyes. You're doing a disservice to this fandom by spreading false information like that when you try to pass it off as official. So if it's anyone that assumes they know what goes on inside Rumiko's head, it's YOU. Somewhere down the road in the (un)foreseeable future, it's you who changes course since remember we were all in agreement at the beginning that their relationship wasn't romantic. So what did I miss? Please break it down for me and explain what exactly influenced you to change your mind, then describe in detail how again this transition in their relationship magically came to be. It's you who came to that decision on your own- nobody helped you get there, and certainly not Rumiko (as you said yourself). The user boycottyashahime put it better than I did, so here is the link to their post. I highly recommend you read it if you haven't already. I urge you to keep an open mind about it while reading, too. You may not like what they have to say, but there's no denying they make excellent points all the same.
Tumblr media
I'm pretty sure I catch your drift, but can you clarify if you're referring to historical context or cultural context? I suppose both can be applied here. haha Anyway, from what I gather, you believe that fans should be on board with the idea of Sessrin and at the very least tolerate the pairing. Whether they ship it or not, you believe this simply for the fact that the story takes place in the feudal era and couples with a similar relationship back then were more than acceptable. The thing is, we may be transported to Feudal Japan in this story but we're still taking our modern day morals with us for the trip. I have a whole ass blog dedicated to the significance of fiction in real life (convienently pinned on my page) if you wanna check it out. I also discuss what age-appropriate content is and isn't for Inuyasha viewers in this recent ask here that I find is also pretty relevant to the convo.
Alrighty, moving onto your next point. I can't stress enough to you guys that this isn't a mere Caucasian vs. Non-Caucasian dilemma. I'm a POC, so I ask that you please not presume to know things about me you couldn't possibly know unless we met or I shared it with you. In fact, many of the other antis I frequently chat with are POCs like myself. So for all that's good and holy, please stop ignoring us when we say: THERE ARE FANS IN JAPAN WHO HATE THIS SHIP TOO. THIS ISN'T A DIFFERENCE OF CULTURE, THIS IS A DIFFERENCE OF OPINION (& FACT). It may have not been called child grooming during that time, but that doesn't mean that it wasn't; it just went under a different name, that's literally it.
Let me give you another example. So if I'm watching a movie about WWII in Nazi Germany, am I supposed to sympathize with an SS officer if the story is being narrated from his point of view? Because in his mind and during that time period, his ideology is right. Like a lot of Germany during that war, I rally to support his leader for what is in my opinion a just cause. Tell me, how does context matter in this instance? Does it matter so much so that you would adopt the same ideals just because it was "historically accurate" and you don't see anything wrong with it when you put yourself in their shoes? Does the "it's just fiction" defense come into play here, too?
Tumblr media
The illustration I believe you are referring to is the calendar with that one official illustrator for Inuyasha, right? The thing is, an official illustrator doesn’t equal the creator of Inuyasha. They may support the Sessrin ship, but their work has no connection to the Inuyasha series in any way besides the name affiliation. I've heard that the illustrator also included Kagome x Koga art, so should we take that seriously then too? Rumiko never once alluded to a future romance between Sesshomaru and Rin, to which you even (kinda) agreed. She described their relationship as neither parental or romantic, and she added that she even contemplated making Rin a boy at first. Fun facts, y'all!
I've heard about those magazines but they sound fishy to me. Would you mind sending me a link to a reliable source that comes with an English translation? I'd like to emphasize again that illustrators or VAs can do and say as they please, but their opinions are still only opinions at the end of the day. Nothing is set in stone until Rumiko says it is.
Tumblr media
For one, I never said my interpretation was the only correct portrayal. That's you putting words in my mouth again. What I did say, however, was that my interpretation was more logical and reasonable than yours based on popular and widely-accepted story patterns found in real life and in fiction. Look this isn't about who's more "correct" or not. You can perceive Sesshomaru and Rin's relationship any damn way you want, BUT what you cannot do is dictate how we react to your depiction of this ship. You can't demand us to view your ship a certain way to fit your preferences. I'm sure all the hate on your ship can be unbearable at times, but that's just the cross you'll have to bear for supporting such a problematic couple. If a large part of any fandom is strongly against a pairing and what it represents, then there's usually a very legitimate reason for that. You may not want to hear this, but certainly you must realize there's some truth to it all. A couple of your fellow shippers have even admitted to me that Sessrin would be wrong IRL. You see what I mean? Even if we find the ship gross, antis don't care if you choose to ship Sessrin. All we care about is you acknowledging that, like IRL, Sessrin potentially poses a lot of problems for young viewers and how they come to make sense of and view similar situations that are borderline grooming or the very thing itself. Teens watching this show are more vulnerable and impressionable, which is why it's crucial to not show relationships like Sessrin in a favorable light. If they're ever put in a situation IRL that resembles Sessrin, they need to be aware and understand that it's not at all normal or healthy for that adult to make a move on them. Let's say Sessrin does go canon, then that would mean Rin had to get pregnant around 14 or 15. Sending that kind of message to an audience made up of mostly teenagers isn't exactly wise if you ask me. Please really think about that and sit with it if you need to.
Tumblr media
I'm positive I'm following the same story, thank you very much. Also, how can you be so confident making a statement like that when I have actual Sessrin shippers praising me for making valid points? Sorry to break it to you, but I don't think I'm as lost as you claim me to be or wish that I was.
That's a wrap, peeps!
Read over what I had to say again later and then get back to me if want, but only write me back if you plan to be respectful. Otherwise I will decline to answer. Just keep that in mind. And may I suggest only sending 1 or 2 asks at a time? Please and thank you!
I think I may know exactly who are, nonnie, but I can't say for sure. Besides, it doesn't really matter, as you have a right to stay anonymous if you so wish to. Listen, don't forget you are also more than welcome to interact (but appropriately) on my blogs/asks/etc. If you are who I think you are, then you recently did make a comment on one of them but didn't stick around when I replied back (and for good reason). Finally, if you hope to ever have a real discussion about this topic someday, first put your ego aside and refrain from throwing insults and then I'll hear you out. I have never once put you down in all of our interactions, so there's no need to show up here all riled up and aggravated in the first place. There's also no need to laugh at or mock other's opinions. Don't take jabs and assume I must not know something about Inuyasha just because I don't support your point of view. I may not agree with your opinion, but you don't see me having a condescending air about it.
Apologies if you're not the member I believe you to be, but no offense, you probably still needed to hear all of that too. It's not included here since I answered it immediately, but that final ask you sent me where you got angry and assumed I wasn't going to answer you was totally uncalled for. If you ever hope someday to participate in real discourse with me or any other antis, you should take my advice and seriously chill and learn how to be patient.
Hope this finds you well, nonnie!
