seeing rumblings of a Bad Change on the dashboard horizon without being in the AB test group like good lord pls let this one have statistical significance showing it's a BAD idea
#look i work in web dev i get you gotta iterate you gotta try new things now and then#and i can get used to the new left menu layout i can get used to a lot of things but removing icons????#literally icons (w their current config) are how i recognize EVERYONE on my dash#like unless there are 2 ppl with very similar icons or it's someone who doesn't post often i don't frequently read urls as my first step#first step to ID someone who has reblogged something onto my dash bc i /recognize their icon and know who it is from that/#it's why it's noticeable when someone changes theirs!!#why would you get rid of icons?? it's one of the few ways users can show personality if they haven't enabled custom themes#and even then how often are people going into blog view for a random post on their dash?#how often are people even gonna see icons outside of notes or original posts if this goes through?#like i 'oh no change boo' complained about other things but this is straight up a bad idea#illogical rambles
