So I was listening to Epic: the Musical and I thought the song “Just A Man” would fit Muriel really well, with him just trying to stay alive and keep Asra safe but also grappling with, as he sees it, turning into a monster at the same time and I want to hug him all over again.
@httyd-chocolate I just googled and read the lyrics and felt a chill go down my spine -
You're so right about that being him!! Though truthfully, I could see several of the other characters relating to that in their own aspects well. I've added it to the playlist and I'm putting it on the tag, thanks for the recommendation friend!

─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* : 。゚☆. ───
The first thing you experienced about the apocalypse wasn’t the loud sirens, explosions, or screaming. It was how quiet it was. The usual fluorescent lights of the lab testing floor you were on were still burning as bright as ever, your eyes trailing the multitude of doctors and nurses scrambling through the hall, clipboards and keycards in hand.
Your hand placed itself on the glass wall, confused as to why the doctors and scientists were acting more skittish than usual. The feeling you had in your stomach turning into a deeper pit. Anxiety swelling inside of you.
Even without any of the chemicals dumped into you through the many syringes “gifted” to you, your intuition was off the charts. You knew something was wrong.
Hearing the usual vroom of the door to your cell opening, your eyes turned to it, seeing the scientist usually in charge of you with a lead in hand. He stood in the doorway, his salt and pepper hair slicked back like it always was. His glasses were pristine, no scratches or dirt on them, his lab coat and scrubs eerily clean.
“Subject 13, we’re moving you,” David said, his voice not leaving room for question.
You nodded, walking up to him. David had been in charge of you since you got here at the ripe age of 10. A decade of being trapped in these four walls, not seeing the outside.
The last time you were outside, the whole world felt like it was dripped in neon. The lights, the hair, the makeup, everything. All you wanted was a Barbie doll or a cabbage patch kid. Now, the world to you was white walls, white floors, and people wearing all white.
David clasped the lead onto your thin collar, starting to walk the opposite end down the hallway that you were used to. You only ever walked to the left of your cell, not the right. Today you were going to the right, following all the other doctors and scientists.
“Where are we going?” You asked quietly.
“Hm?” David asked, not even bothering to look over you.
You took a second, looking down at your feet while you walked. Taking a deep breath, you get ready to rephrase your sentence. “Father, where are you taking me?” You rephrased.
He smiled back at you, his yellow cigarette smoke stained teeth being visible from behind his lips. “My flower, we’re relocating you.” He responded, then looked forward.
Relocation…..
You’ll get to see another part of the world. Maybe if you were lucky, you’d be able to see outside through windows. The idea thrilled you more than the fear of being sent to another location. But still, one thought loomed over you, the NEST had been your home for the past 10 years, why were they moving you now?
“Father, why?” You asked, watching people run by you. The hairs on the back of your neck were sticking up, matching the anxiety of everyone else besides David.
“Because, My Flower, someone messed up on one of the upper floors,” He replied. His tone was always condescending, infantilizing you, talking down to you. He acted like you were still 10 like when he “found you”.
“Messed up?” You asked. He never told you about stuff happening on the upper floors, you were hoping that he’d be willing to go into deeper detail if he was already in a talking mood.
“Birkin…. messed with something that he shouldn’t have,” He responded and left it at that.
Birkin…. That had to be a person by the way he was talking. You had searched your memory, trying to figure out if you ever came into contact, but couldn’t remember anything.
As the two of you walked through a set of double doors, the hallway changed from white to a blaring red. An alarm was going off, along with the emergency lights, making the hallway a sensory nightmare.
You squeezed your eyes closed, attempting to quell the migraine you were starting to get from everything.
After going through another set of double doors, you felt yourself rising from the ground. Opening them in a panic, you noticed you were in an elevator, making your way to the surface. How long had it been since you were in an elevator last? It had to have been at the mall, while you were waiting impatiently to get to Orange Julius.
The mall that had just opened up down the road from where you lived. The same mall where a strange man in a suit came up to you and asked you where your parents were.
The same one where you were taken from, never to see the outside world again.
“Where will we go?” You asked, your (e/c) eyes meeting his face.
“Where we go,” David replied dryly.
You nodded, discontent with the answer, but pushing your feelings aside like you had been trained to do. If you dug too far, it would only spell more pain and suffering for you; curiosity was not a trait celebrated by Umbrella Corp.
He led you down another hallway, the lead tugging at your neck, an uncomfortable feeling, making you seem like a dog. Your place was a lab rat, property owned by Umbrella Corp. You were truly David’s bitch through and through. Something he held over you.
After a mind numbing walk through more hallways than you could count, you felt the cold air prick your face. Your nose breathed in the fresh air for the first time in a decade, tears almost welling in your eyes at the nostalgic feeling of it. It was crisp, but warm at the same time. Smelling like nothing, but everything all at once. Where the air smelled like cleaner and chemicals in your cell, the air here smelled of an electric charge, a storm on the horizon, and the calamity happening in the city.
Looking around, you saw the city horizon line. There were more lights than when you were brought here, assuming you were looking at the same side of the building from before. You saw the misty haze sweeping over the city, the pine trees in the background surrounding the mountains in the faint distance. If you could see the roads, you would have seen the destruction breaking out around you.
You would have seen the hell emerging from the depths of where you were kept.
Looking forward, you saw a military grade helicopter, the same type they brought you here in. When you were first taken, you remembered every single detail you could with hope you could somehow make it out.
Obviously, you were naïve.
David ushered you into the helicopter, taking his seat in the pilot’s. Two U.S.S. (Umbrella Security Services) agents accompanied the two of you on the helicopter, guns drawn. One was pointed off the ramp, the other was pointed at you. At this point, you would have either been an idiot or had a death wish if you attempted to run. At this point you had the survivor mentality beaten out of you.
Starting up the helicopter, David tied your lead to the bar separating the two of your seats. Your eyes were glued to the world outside, watching the rain hit the windows and windshields in awe. The world seemed darker since you saw it last, obviously because it was night time, but it felt grungier. Less like the neon wonderland you left and more like cigarette smoke and leather.
As the helicopter flew above the city, the fires and crowds of people below were finally visible to you. The shock tore through your body at the sight.
“The people… what’s happening to them?” You asked, your eyes following clusters of people attacking others. It looked like ants fighting from how high up you were, but you could still make out their shapes and sizes.
“Birken’s atrocity. This is why I worked on more sophisticated projects like you, My Flower,” David replied, running a hand through your hair. An unfamiliar sound filled your ears, getting louder and louder by the second.
David’s head whipped to the side. “Holy shit!” He yelled and jerked the steering sticks of the helicopter towards you. Your eyes widened as you saw a glimpse of something coming at the two of you, then the world went white again.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* : 。゚☆. ───
You woke up to a searing pain in your right arm. Eyes shooting open, all you saw around you were silent flames, engulfing the helicopter and licking up your right arm. You tried to lunged through the flames and get out of the helicopter, but a force pulled you back, the fucking collar and lead. Looking around the helicopter, you found a stray shard of glass and picked it up. Your hand instantly filled with a sanguine red, the glass cutting your hand from just holding it. Quickly and wasting no time, you sawed through the lead, gritting your teeth at the pain.
David would surely forgive you for breaking your lead, it was life or death. Then again, he was a psychotic doctor that experimented on and tortured you for years.
Once the lead went slack, breaking apart, you jumped through the flames, rolling on the floor of wherever you were to extinguish the flames on you. Catching your breath and feeling your heartbeat die down, you took a few seconds, waiting for David or a U.S.S. agent to pick you back up.
When no one jolted you up to your feet, your eyes opened to find a dusty wooden floor beneath you. Pushing off of your arms, you looked around you and saw a hallway of some sort, a rather plain one, but not the white ones you were used to seeing by now.
You stood up and looked toward the helicopter, seeing three bodies in there, engulfed in the flames. David and the two U.S.S. agents.
You were…. Free.
Free…
David was dead.
Your mind kept going over these words in your mind before you decided it would be better to move than stay still. While David had beaten the survivor out of you, you weren’t an idiot.
The helicopter was cutting the hallway in half, giving you only one choice to go: behind you. You turned around and looked down the daunting hallway, feeling like it would’ve been better if you perished in the crash with everyone else. Nonetheless, you pushed forward into the darkness, your eyes adjusting to the darkness and your ears adjusting to the quiet.
Walking down the hallway, you found the first door, a wooden door directly in front of you. On the wall, there was a sign that stuck out from it saying “Waiting Room”. As you walked closer, you found yourself having to limp, your ankle feeling less than ideal for walking a great distance. Your hand pressed up to the door, feeling the indents on the real wood. Every texture you had dealt with since you were taken was either slick, cold, slimy, or all of the above.
It felt nice to feel something homemade, something that felt real. You cautiously pushed the door open and a sudden warmth filled the hallway. The room had multiple lights on, the type that you weren’t used to anymore. Instead of the fluorescent lights that made you want to gouge your eyeballs out, they were small lamps with a warm, orange or yellow glow to them.
Closing the door behind you, you tried to find anything that could tell you where you were. You had no clue the size of the building you crashed into or where exactly you were.
Turning to your direct left, you found a bulletin board on the wall with multiple posters. All of them said Raccoon City as the location of what they were advertising, so it was safe to say you were still in the city.
Looking around more, you were startled as you heard the door behind you open. It was quiet, but you still picked up on it, your ears flicking slightly at the sound.
“Are you alive?” A rather young voice asked you. Your hands went up slightly in surrender and you turned around.
When you looked at who was talking, your eyes lit up. The question he asked puzzled you, but seeing someone that looked around your age was a relief in its own right.
His face was unlike any other face you had seen. Most faces from your childhood blurred together, the only faces you really remember being your own, David’s, and the other scientists that occasionally worked on you for David. This young man’s features were soft, his eyes blue and kind, with an emotion at the forefront. You had seen that emotion in your own eyes before.
He was scared and trying to hide it.
“You’re alive,” He responded. You knit your eyebrows in confusion and noticed the gun he was pointing at you. Confused, you nodded and watched him sigh in relief, then lower the gun. “You, me, and Marvin are the only ones here that aren’t infected,” He added, reholstering his gun.
“Infected?” Your voice asked.
The young man looked at you, his eyebrows knit together, confusion matching your own. His eyes looked up and down your outfit, the white hospital gown and scrub pants that you had worn for the last ten years catching his eye.
“Yeah…. Where did you come from?” He asked and took a step towards you.
Instinctively, you took a step back, his eyes immediately softening. “Hey, I’m not gonna hurt you okay? I’m a police officer, it’s my job to help people.” He said softly.
You remembered your parents telling you to find a police officer if you ever needed help when you would go to the mall alone. The day you were taken, you tried to tell one that a man in a suit was following you.
You were laughed at.
Sensing your apprehension, he took off one of his fingerless gloves and held his bare hand out to you. “My name’s Leon, Leon Kennedy. If you want to survive, I might be your best bet,” He said.
You looked at the hand and hesitantly reached your own out to his. But your name, what name could you tell him? Subject 12 wasn’t your name, it was used to get rid of your humanity, taking away your ability to even have a name.
A name, you used to have a name, but what was it? Digging deep into your memories, you tried to remember it; tried to remember a friend saying it in joy, tried to remember a parent saying it in love, a teacher in anger.
Nothing.
Leon looked at you expectantly, trying to read your expression. Your eyes met his as your hand met his in a shake. All you could remember for a name was the sound of rock playing through your dad’s radio, him praising a female singer for her melodies and guitar playing skills.
“Joan, my name is Joan,” You said, claiming the name as your own.
“Nice to meet you Joan, got a gun?” Leon asked. He looked down at your hands and you guessed that you had held on for way too long judging by the look on his face. You let go and awkwardly smiled at him.
“A gun? No,” You replied, your head tilting to the side slightly. “Why would I need a gun?” You asked.
“Why would you need a gun?” Leon echoed your question, looking at you incredulously. His eyes then went down to the burn mark on your right arm and the cut through the palm of your same hand.  “Where did you come from, you haven’t been here?” He asked.
You shook your head slightly, proving his theory correct. “I was in a helicopter, then everything went white and I woke up surrounded by flames in this building,”
His eyes widened. “You were in that helicopter? The one that crashed into the building?” He asked, his eyes almost bugging out of his head. You nodded in response and he dug through his hip pouches, producing a small box with a red cross on it.
“Here, let me patch you up, take a seat,” He said and gestured to one of the benches. You limped over, his eyes catching which ankle you weren’t letting touch the floor and taking a mental note of it.
Sitting down on the bench, you looked at the palm of your hand seeing just how deep the glass had cut you. Leon kneeled down in front of you and looked up into your eyes, then back down at the collar you had on.
“I don’t mean to pry…” He trailed off. You stared at him, expecting him to ask a question, but he just shrugged and shook his head, saying something to himself that a normal person wouldn’t be able to hear, but you could. “Isn’t the weirdest fucking thing I’ve seen today,” He said to himself.
You watched him take bandages and a small spray can out of the case. “Can I have your hand?” He asked. You gave up your hand, palm side up. His hand gently grabbed your wrist, his eyes darting to your face for any sign of discomfort, but finding none.
“This will hurt a bit,” He said and shook the small can. As the spray hit your cut, a slight hiss left your mouth. “Sorry,” He said, his eyebrows knit in focus and sympathy. Leon was quick to wrap the hand in bandages and then wrap the burn loosely.
His hand dropped your wrist and he gestured to your ankle. “Can I help that too?” He asked. You nodded and he took your ankle, resting it on his knee. Almost as quick as when he wrapped your hand, your ankle was wrapped and all set to go.
“It looks sprained. If we were in a better situation, I’d tell you to stay off of it, but we’re not,” He said and looked up at you.
“Thank you,” You said and lightly smiled at him. Looking down at him, you got a feeling that you haven’t had in awhile.
You felt like he could be trusted; instead of the churning sea that your stomach usually was, it was calm. A slight warmth spreading through your chest at his smile.
“We should head out, I have this puzzle that I need to solve for us to get out of here,” He said, fishing a small booklet out of his pouches and putting the box back in.
Looking at him, you could tell that he’d been here for at least longer than you had. He might be useful to stick around; especially if he had weapons and you didn’t.
“Sounds good,” You said and stood up, getting used to the new weight on your ankle.
“Before we go…. I gotta ask,” He said, leading into a question that you didn’t really want to answer right now.
“No you don’t,” You replied and steadied yourself, looking up to meet his gaze.
“Okay, I guess I don’t,” He said, his head moving to the door he came out of. “Alright, let’s get moving,” He added.
You followed him through the door, into the unknown. Maybe on the other side of the door, there would be a fully fledged freedom; the world that you were kept from.
To you, you were free of the white walls, white floors, damnation you were sentenced to. Now, you were headed into hell on Earth that you were completely unaware of.

Getting a decent night’s sleep is starting to be hard to come by since we figured out another D&D monster is an actual monster. I knew about Vecna from reading Dustin’s D&D manual when he first got it and refreshed myself when he joined Hellfire.
We decided to get Eddie some actual food… or what we thought was actual food from the grocery store, taking it over to Reefer Rick’s, where we told Eddie to stay hidden.
Steve parked the car around where he did last night, all five of us piling out and walking to the boathouse, walking in once we made it. Only this time, Eddie was ready with his sharp glass bottle, pointing it at us at our intrusion.
Dustin and I held up the plastic bags, smiling while saying, “Delivery service.”
Eddie sighed before I shook my bags, setting them down on a table and pulling every item out of the bag. I felt Eddie behind me after a moment before the box of Honeycombs and Yoo-Hoo was removed from my vision.
He sat down in the boat with the box, opening it and tearing the bag open, dipping his hand inside to start munching on the sugary cereal while Robin and Max stood or sat to his left, Dustin, myself and Steve standing or sitting to his right.
“So we got, uhh, some good news and some bad news,” Dustin said. “How do you prefer it?”
With a mouth full of cereal, Eddie said, “Bad news first, always,” before taking a swig of his glorified chocolate milk.
“Alright,” I breathed. “Bad news; Dustin tapped in the Hawkins PD dispatch with his Cerebro and, and they’re definitely looking for you, and they’re pretty convinced you killed Chrissy.”
“Like, 100% kind of convinced,” Max added.
“And the good news, oldest Henderson?” Eddied asked, looking from Max to me.
Smiling, I said, “Your name hasn’t gone public yet. But if we found out about you, it’s a matter of time before others do, too, and once word gets out, everyone and their pea-brained mother is gonna be hunting for you.”
“Hunt the freak, right?” Eddie enunciated.
Scrunching my lips, I closed my eyes and nodded. “Precisely.”
“Shit.”
“So, before that happens, we need to find Vecna, kill him, and prove your innocence,” Dustin said.
“That’s all, Dustin?” Eddie and I asked. “That’s all?”
“Yeah, no, that’s pretty much it,” he said, pretty sure of himself.
“Little brother, ‘tis not as simple as you think,” I said. “When has it ever been that simple?” I rolled my eyes at his delusions, feeling two hands on my shoulders, pulling me back into a chest; Steve’s chest.
“Listen, Eddie,” Robin said. “I know everything Dustin’s saying sounds totally delusional, but we’ve actually been through this kinda thing before.”
“Well, she’s been through it once,” I said. “Max twice, Dustin, Steve and I three times. Robin’s was more human-flesh-based, while ours was more smoke-related.”
“Bottom line is, collectively, I really feel we got this.”
Wrapping his arms around my middle and resting his chin on my shoulder, Steve said, “Yeah, see, we usually rely on this girl who has super powers. But, uhh, those went bye-bye, so…”
“So, we’re technically more in the–”
“Kinda.”
“Brainstorming phase?” I asked.
“Brainstorming,” Steve repeated, snapping his fingers. “Good one, babe.”
“There-there-there’s nothing to worry about,” Dustin said.
Steve scoffed behind me, his head moving just a little in curt nod.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath just as I heard sirens, and Steve whispered, “Shit.”
Moving towards the boat, I said, “Eddie, tarp.”
He looked at me, questions floating in his eyes.
“Get back under the tarp.”
“You owe me, Henderson,” he said, my response being “I know,” before Eddie grabbed the side and laid down with the cereal box in his arm, moving the tarp over himself.
The rest of us moved to the windows, watching as police cars and ambulances drove by. As a group, we decided to be nosy as fuck and follow them to see where they were going. Once we found the area, we parked behind a truck, the five of us getting out.
Nancy was standing in the middle of the road, talking to Powell, who took over for Hopper since he… well, since he died. She looked over at us, bringing her fingers up for a small wave.
I looked over at Steve, seeing him wave back at her. I know he doesn’t love her anymore, but there’s always going to be that part of me that thinks he does and always will. Looking back at her, tears welled in my eyes before I could stop them and looked down. Sitting back inside the car, I sniffled lightly, brushing the tear that had regrettably fallen onto my cheek.
When everyone got back in the car, all I could do was look out the window at the trees passing by. What made my anxiety worse… was that Steve didn’t rest his hand on my thigh like he always did. Taking off my right shoe, I sighed, bringing my foot to rest on the seat, lacing my fingers together and resting them at the junction where my foot and calf meet.
Once we made it to the trailer park, Robin, Max and my brother got out of the car, meeting Nancy at the picnic table while Steve and I stayed behind.
He sighed, “I know what you’re thinking, and no.”
I looked down and nodded. “I know. It’s just my stupid brain. You know how it gets.” I crossed my arms, sinking down into the seat a little more. “It just… I saw the way you looked at her.”
“With concern?” he asked. It wasn’t in anger or irritation. His voice was calm and controlled. There were a few times when I had this concern after we got together, and he was always reassuring. Kind of like he was being right now.
Once the reasonable side of my brain caught up and took over my unreasonable side, I sighed and rested my head on my knee, whispering, “I’m sorry.”
Grabbing my hand to lace our fingers, he said, “Her and I are friends. Nothing more. You’re the girl for me.”
I looked at our hands, watching as he brought them up to kiss the back of my own. Smiling, I connected our eyes, seeing those hazel orbs I loved so much. “I love you. And I’m sorry.”
“I love you, too. Let’s go.”
We both got out of the car after I put my shoe back on and retied it. He met me at the front of the car and held his hand out once he saw me round the vehicle, our fingers lacing together as we made our way to the picnic table. When we sat down, we all explained to Nancy what’s been going on.
“So, you’re saying that this thing that killed Fred and Chrissy, it’s from the Upside Down?” Nancy asked.
“If the shoe fits,” I sighed, leaning back against Steve, who wrapped his arms around my middle.
“Our working theory is that he attacks with a spell or a curse,” Dustin said. “Now, whether or not he’s doing the bidding of the Mind Flayer or just loves killing teens, we don’t know.”
“All we know is this is something different,” Max said. “Something new.”
“Doesn’t make sense,” Nancy said.
“It’s just a theory,” Dustin said.
“It’s not supposed to make sense,” I added.
“No, Liv,” Nancy said. “Fred and Chrissy don’t make sense. I mean, why them?”
“Maybe they were just in the wrong place,” Dustin said. “They were both at the game.”
“And near the trailer park,” Max said.
“We’re in the trailer park,” Steve said, holding me a little tighter. “Uh, should we maybe not be here?”
As we all looked around, Nancy said, “There is something about this place. Fred started acting weird the second we got here.”
“Acting weird as in?” Robin asked.
“Scared, on edge, upset.”
“Max said Chrissy was upset, too,” Dustin said.
“Yeah, but not here,” Max said. “She was crying in the bathroom at school.”
“Serial killers stalk their prey before they strike, right?” Robin asked.
“Affirmative,” I said.
“So, maybe Fred and Chrissy saw this Vecman–”
“Vecna,” Dustin corrected.
Carrying on like nothing happened, Steve said, “I don’t know about you guys, but if I saw some freaky wizard monster, I would mention it to someone.”
“Maybe they did,” Max said. “I saw Chrissy leaving Ms. Kelley’s office. If you saw a monster, you… you go to the police. They’d never believe you.”
“Except Hopper,” I said. “Who’s inconveniently dead.”
“But you might to your–”
“Your shrink,” Robin said.
 Max nodded her head and we all formed a plan on what to do. Once the plan was made, we all got up from the table to walk back towards our vehicles. Nancy started walking back towards her car before Steve’s voice stopped her.
“Whoa, whoa, Nance,” he said. “Nance!” He stepped up to her as she turned around, asking, “Where you going?”
“Oh, there’s something I wanna check on first,” she replied.
“Something you maybe wanna share with the rest of us?” Dustin and I asked. “I don’t wanna waste your time. It’s a real shot in the dark.”
“Yeah, okay,” Steve said. “Are you out of your mind? Flying solo with this Vecna creep on the loose? No, it’s too dangerous. You need… you need someone to…” He turned walking up to me, handing me his keys. “Here. I’m gonna stick with Nance, alright? Take the car, check out the shrink. Go back to your house, and I’ll have Nance drop me off there.”
“Why? Why can’t Robin go with her?” I asked, gesturing to our high school friend.
“Yeah, why can’t I go?” Robin asked.
“Liv, if you don’t want to drive, I can,” Max said.
“No,” Steve and I said, looking over at Max.
“No. Never again,” Steve added. “Please. Anybody but you.”
“Come on,” Dustin said.
“No.”
“Okay, this is stupid,” Robin said, grabbing a radio from Dustin’s bag. “Like Liv said, I’ll go with Nancy because us ladies need to stick together. Steve, you stay with your girlfriend.” When she made it to Nancy’s side, she turned back around to face us, saying, “Unless you think we need you to protect us.”
Robin turned on her heel and started walking towards Nancy’s car, the eldest Wheeler taking a moment, looking at my Stevie. I rolled my eyes and got in the car, not meaning to slam the door shut as Steve shouted at them to be careful.
“You just gonna stand there and gawk at your ex-girlfriend, or sit next to my sister and gawk at her?” Dustin said.
“Shut up,” Steve said. “I love your sister. She knows that.” “Why don’t we go?”
“Shut up and get in the car.”
I heard the back door open behind me, so I looked to see who it was before saying, “Dusty, wipe your feet.”
“On the outside, not the inside,” Steve groaned, getting into the car. “Always the babysitter. Always the goddamn babysitter.” He started the car, putting it in drive and riding past Eddie’s trailer that was marked off by police tape.
~~~
Max gave us directions to Ms. Kelley’s house, Steve parking at the end of her driveway on the other side of the street.
“Okay, she’s in,” Steve said, arm resting on the door, the window rolled down.
“I’m missing collarbones,” Dustin said. “Not eyes.” A few seconds later, he said, “So… are we gonna talk about… it?” Turning to face him in the backseat, I furrowed my brows. “What?”
Pointing in between Steve and I, Dustin said, “You two.”
“Again, I ask… what?”
“The tension between you two. I can feel it from here.”
“Feel what?” Steve asked.
“The sexual electricity?”
“Oh, my god, Dustin!” I exclaimed.
“Your sexual tension was pretty public,” he said. “There’s witnesses. Have you two even–”
Turning back to face the front with my hands up, I said, “I am not having this conversation with you.”
“Are you implying that we haven’t had se–” Steve said.
“Steve!” I interrupted. “We’re not having this conversation with him right now!”
“What about when he was gonna go with Nance instead of staying with you, his girlfriend, my dearest sister?” Dustin said.
“I was trying to protect a friend,” Steve said. “A friend, Hendersons. Okay?”
Turning my head to look at Steve, I gave him a what the fuck look. “Hendersons? As in, plural? Don’t bring me into this, I didn’t say anything.”
“Okay,” Dustin said, amused.
“I don’t wanna find her in the morning with her eyes sucked out of the front of her skull by this Vecna creep,” Steve said.
“Steve, baby, I love that you’re wanting to protect a friend and being all defensive, but now isn’t the time to do that, especially when your anxious girlfriend here is freaking out about you and Nancy, okay?” I said.
“Yeah, what’s wrong with my sister?” Dustin asked.
“Nothing’s wrong,” Steve said. “I love your sister very much, and I especially don’t want anything to happen to her. I’d die if anything happened to her.”
I smiled at that, feeling all the love from him just from those two sentences.
“You’re blushing,” Dustin smiled.
“Drop it, or I’ll punch you so hard in your face your teeth will fall back out.”
“Whoa,” Dustin and I said. “Too far.”
“Not cool. Sorry.”
“Not cool, babe,” I said.
“It’s okay,” Dustin added.
Steve brought his fist up, Dustin hitting Steve’s with his own before Steve held his hand out, looking at me. I laced our fingers before he brought the back of my hand to his mouth, placing a kiss near my ring finger.
I heard the door open, Steve’s attention right on Max as she made her way back to the car, Steve repeating, “Here she comes.”
Max got in the backseat with Dustin, my brother asking, “What’d she say?” “Nothing, just drive,” Max said. “Steve, drive!”
“Okay,” he said, letting go of my hand to start the car and drive off.
Max told us to drive to the high school so that she could snoop through Ms. Kelley’s files for hers and Chrissy’s. Dustin’s walkie went off, a familiar voice coming through.
“Dustin? Olivia? It’s Lucas. Do you copy? Dustin.”
Dustin hit the button on his walkie, speaking into it, “Lucas? Where the hell have you been?”
“Just listen,” Lucas said. “Are you guys looking for Eddie?”
“Yeah, and we found him, no thanks to you.”
“You found him?”
“He’s at a boathouse on Coal Mill Road. Don’t worry, he’s safe.”
“You guys know he killed Chrissy, right?”
“That’s bullshit. Eddie tried to save Chrissy.” “Then why do all the cops say he did it?”
Max took the walkie from Dustin, pressing the button and saying, “Lucas, you’re so behind, it’s ridiculous, okay? Just meet us at the school. We’ll explain later.”
“I… I can’t.”
Taking the walkie from Max, it was my turn to speak into the mouthpiece. “Come again, Sinclair?”
“I think some real bad shit’s about to go down, Liv.”
“Spill it.”
Static sounded from the walkie’s speaker for a moment before I hit my palm against it a couple times before saying into the mouthpiece, “Lucas? Lucas! Shit.”
~~~
It was dark by the time we made it to the school, Max using the keys she stole from Ms. Kelley’s house. Walking down the hallway, Dustin’s walkie went off again, this time Robin’s voice coming through, saying, “Hendersons, do you copy?”
“Yeah, we copy,” Dustin and I said in unison.
“So, Nancy’s a genius. Vecna’s first victims date back all the way to 1959. Her shot in the dark was a bullseye.”
“Okay, that’s, uh, totally bonkers,” Dustin said.
I took the walkie from him, saying, “But we really can’t talk right now.”
“Wait, what are you doing, female Henderson?”
“Breaking and entering into the school to retrieve highly confidential and extremely personal files.” This felt like Sophomore year all over again when I broke into stores. Looking up at Steve, I said, “If I get caught this time, I’m going to jail.”
“We won’t,” he said, shining his flashlight around, looking for any type of security.
“Can you repeat that?”
“Just get your ass over to the high school, Buckley. Stat. We’ll explain everything… if I don’t get arrested again and start living in a cell.”
We found Max at Ms. Kelley’s office as she was just opening the door to walk inside.
“It’s like a mini-Watergate or something,” Dustin said.  “Hawkinsgate!”
“Wait a sec,” Steve said. “Didn’t those guys get caught?”
“Holy shit,” Max said from the opened filing cabinet.
“You found it?” Steve asked, walking over to her.
“Yeah, and not just Chrissy’s file,” she said, taking a file out of the cabinet. “Fred was seeing Ms. Kelley, too.”
We all looked at each other, trying to find out what it meant with our eyes until I spoke up. “Well, I’d compare the files, see if the three of you had any symptoms in common.”
We did just that, bringing out her file, Chrissy’s file and Fred’s file. Max sat at the desk, looking at Chrissy’s, seeing the handwritten symptoms on a white sheet of paper. When she asked to see Fred’s file, I handed it to her, moving to stand beside her with my body facing Steve, who was leaning against the desk.
Max was looking as if she were lost in a trance of some sort, so I put my hand on her shoulder, asking, “Max, are you okay? Max? Max, honey, what is it? Max. Max!”

Updated Fierce Deity Links Playlist!
I swapped a couple tracks and added a couple Links with their own songs to the list, so I figured it was high time for me to make an update to the original playlist post. This time around I'm going to go into a little more detail as to why I chose each song for each FD Link, rather than just copy/pasting some lyrics like I did last time.
As a reminder: this is following the theory / headcanon that the OG Fierce Deity Mask is a mask of ascended Sky. Thus, this is not a collection of songs describing what each Link would be like under the influence of the OG FD mask; rather, these are songs for what each Link's ascended, FD forms would be like. (Not that it matters all that much, really.)
Track list under the cut. :)
First: Holy Ghost (feat. Andrea Storm Kaden) by Fabvl (Clean Version) This song was written about Adam from the anime Record of Ragnarok (which I still need to watch). Right off the bat there's the obvious correlation between the First Hero & the First Human, but there's also the desperate fight between a mere mortal and a god. The erratic nature of the music and lyrics, and the screaming, lends itself to the desperation First must've felt during that fight. Considering how he died, I thought that his desperate determination would carry over to his FD form after death.
Time: In The Air Tonight by State of Mine Time just wants to rest in piece. I love the observation in LU that he is done with combat. It would take a lot to convince him to go into battle after training Twilight as the Hero's Shade. However, as a Link, he is still very much a force to be reckoned with. Underestimating him would be a death sentence, and heaven help the poor soul of anyone who stupidly incurs his wrath. With all that in mind, I wanted to go with a song that was a little more subdued than the others, but still intimidating and intense. After listening through the previous playlist a few times, I kept feeling like Time's original song just wasn't quite on par with the others. I swapped it with this one both for the up in intensity, and because it really sells the, "I don't want to be here... but you done screwed up, so now I have no choice but to put an end to your miserable life" vibe.
Twilight: POWER by Divide Music The lyrics of this one fit Twilight like a freaking glove. However, I think I may have shied away from using it originally because the type of music doesn't quite fit the edgy goth cowboy we all know and love. But after listening to it again a few times, it occurred to me that FD Twilight would be ascended Twilight; postmortem Twilight; BotW Wolf Link amiibo Twilight. And that annoying little fleabag (affectionate) is a lot more bold and "Have at thee, pathetic monster!" than he was in Twilight Princess—which is exactly the vibe of this song.
Warriors: The Resistance by Skillet Come on. "I am a nation"? "I am a soldier"? Tell me that's not Wars. The lyrics are just too perfect. Even "Love is the answer" makes me think of how he views his Zelda versus how Cia started a whole war over her obsession with him (additionally, "Used to be a slave, but now you are a conquer" makes me think of my personal headcanon of how the Temple of Souls would have realistically gone if Hyrule Warriors wasn't made for kids). Even the guitar solo at the end is reminiscent of the HW soundtrack!
Four: The War Inside (Spotlight Remix) by Switchfoot Mainly it's just the lyrics for this one. This is only remix I could find that was intense enough, and even then, I'd prefer something with a little more oomph to it.
Wind: Ruthlessness from EPIC: The Musical Do I even need to comment on this? It's freaking ticked off Poseidon. Heck, this was actually the song that inspired the whole playlist!
Wild: The Phoenix by Fall Out Boy Oh man. Where to start? The rapid strings, the chaotic yet poetic lyrics, the relentless pace... Yeah, this is FD Wild. I can just see him, lurking in the shadows, going full guerrilla warfare, setting fire to everything while manipulating Sheikah and Zonai tech like frikkin' Emmet from the Lego Movie. If anything, like Four's song, I'd love to see a remix or cover with a touch more oomph to it. But this will do.
Age (AoC Link): You're Going Down (Radio Edit) by Sick Puppies Age strikes me as the kind of guy who never backs down from a fight or a challenge, no matter how petty (see: eating gravel on a dare). He is heck-a confident in his abilities, masterfully using super reckless tactics (health-burning claymore mechanic, anyone?) and unwieldy prototype weapons to great effect. So, yeah. This is absolutely FD Age.
Legend: Legendary by Skillet It's in. The freaking. Name. Grandiose, confident bordering on cocky, a taunt and an anthem rolled into one. Some of the best-fitting lyrics on this dang list. Overall, just, epic.
Hyrule: Feel Invincible by Skillet This has "I've survived the freaking post-apocalypse, witch" vibes to it, plus some somber contemplative moments that I think would fit older Hyrule very well. I can see Hyrule being another Link who, like Time, just wants to be done when he dies. He'll still fight when he's called upon, and he'll be frighteningly effective in combat, but don't expect him to be enthused about it—just impatient to get back to his well-earned afterlife.
Sky: Say My Name by Divide Music This is the OG Fierce Deity. This is Sky ready to roll some heads. He forged the LoZ equivalent of Excalibur so he could kill a god at seventeen/eighteen, he married the powerful protector goddess who's revered and worshiped by his people, and he is done with your crap. This is the jacked-as-fetch protective dad towering over the schoolyard bully. Your only hope of survival is to not be the bully.

Wizard School Mysteries Book 3 Soundtrack
Tumblr media
It's that time again! Another book published, another official unofficial soundtrack I made to listen to while working on it and am sharing for your listening pleasure. I know last time I waited until the first two Wizard School Mysteries books were both published to do a combined "Freshmen Year" soundtrack, but I'm not repeating that now for two reasons: first, the only reason I did that in the first place is because I had forgotten to post the book 1 soundtrack and didn't want it to get lost in the shuffle when I went to post book 2's, and secondly, there's a good chance I might work on Maude and Mordi and/or Dark Chivalry before publishing Book 4, and that would make for a very long wait, which would be a shame because after a year and a half of listening to it on and off I can confirm that this WSM soundtrack is a fucking banger.
There's the playlist for your listening pleasure, and after the cut I'll list the tracks and what they correspond to in the book! WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!
Chapter 1: How the Youths spent their Summer Vacation - Vacation by Vitamin C. We start the book with a mostly low-stakes chapter about our young adult heroes returning home (well, for about half of them anyway) after their first semester at college to enjoy summer vacation, and so out songtrack starts out with a peppy, fun song about vacation whose tonal dissonance with the rest of the soundtrack feels very appropriate to me.
Chapter 2: A Haunted Start - Season of the Witch by Lana Del Ray. As we get into the story proper and see things develop, we set the actual tone of the book with an appropriately spooky song about witches.
Chapter 3: Spirit Glue - The Vampire's Ghost by Jimmy Bower. I found this song on a big ol' set of Halloween soundtracks called Kandy Coated Kackles, and it inspired/named the character of May Shade well before Wizard School Mysteries was even a sparkle in my eye, so it felt kind of like a given to tie it to the chapter that introduces us to May proper.
Chapter 4: Resident Assistance - Float On by Modest Mouse. One of the great songs of my teenage years, I felt Float On was a good pick for Ladislava's character theme, being a list of anxieties followed promptly by how each one fizzled out and became manageable with just a short amount of time. Lad's arc in the books is focused on finding a way to relax and take things as they come which, in my experience, is one of the more valuable lessons to learn in your college years.
Chapter 5: Freyasday the 13th - Black by Toby Fox. Ok, I guess... I guess I have to explain a bit of Homestuck to you all now. So, right, Homestuck begins as this goofy adventure where teenagers play a video game that alters their own reality, first by adding monsters, and eventually giant meteors that threaten to destroy the world. Every now and then it cuts to one of those monsters, a living chess piece named Jack Noir, and his frustrations with the leadership of the monster army. Then, in one of the big moments of the story, Jack Noir kills the queen of the army, steals her empowering ring, and becomes a terrifying threat that alters the course of the story so severely that it changes from "goofy comedic adventure" to "adventure with now very real and terrifying stakes for our heroes despite the goofy elements still being present." It's the entrance of what TV Tropes would call a "Knight of Cerberus," a character who raises the stakes so quickly that the tone abruptly shifts to be noticeably darker than before. Or, in short, a perfect theme for when Buddy finally runs into the Meddlesome Youths.
Chapter 6: The False Necromancer - Witchcraft by Frank Sinatra. This is less a theme for chapter 6 specifically and more for the book as a whole - it's where I got the book's title, "Wicked Witchcraft," from after all. But it also provides a nice break in the tension that's been building in the soundtrack, the way this chapter provides a brief break from the drama that's been building since the end of chapter 1. Plus I have to save the Lord Dhenregirr themes for Book 4.
Chapter 7: Finding Acheron - Soldier At War from Anna and the Apocalypse. Surprise, it's a Polybeus theme! This was the first song I chose for him back in the early pre-writing days of WSM, and it became so ingrained in my mind that I ended up planning a setpiece where he fights zombies in tribute to it. It's a fitting song, though - the character of Nick Saint in Anna and the Apocalypse enters the story seeming like a fairly one-dimensional cocky braggart, singing a song about how he's an uber-masculine badass who will save the day. But as the movie goes along, he reveals he's actually got a pretty good head on his shoulders and more heart than he'd admit, to the point where his reprise of the song - which occurs during a genuinely heroic sacrifice - has you hear lyrics that you thought were ironic and realize they were, in fact, genuine. That was all stuff I was planning for Polybeus's arc at the time I was putting together it together, and it stayed in the plan for him as the books so far have shown, so it's a really good fit for him even without the zombie fighting scene.
here's a weird break tumblr forced me to add for some reason
Chapter 8: Slashing Stones - Hellbent by Mystery Skulls. This song is specifically for the Buddy chase at the end of our chapter, as well as the slasher vs. gargoyle fight it explodes into. One of the reasons I assemble these soundtracks is to help me get a flow in mind for writing important action scenes, and I think this sets the tense and chaotic tone of Buddy's invasion of the AAAM really well.
Chapter 9: Remedial Demonology - Paint It Black by Versaemerge. It's a Gretchen theme, to no one's surprise since this is the Gretchen book! Well, perhaps there's a surprise that it took us nine chapters to get to a Gretchen-specific theme given the book's plot, but this is where it fit soundtrack-wise, and I do think this is kind of a crucial chapter for Gretchen's character development. Like Polybeus's theme two chapters up, I picked this song for Gretchen early in the planning stages of the series as a whole, before I even had the specific books figured out. Well, ok, tell a lie - I picked out the Rolling Stones version initially, but it didn't sit right with me to have a song with male vocals being used for a trans woman character, so I spent... a long time looking for covers of the song that 1. had a lady vocalist and 2. kept the elements of "Paint It Black" that I like, namely its almost hypnotic rhythm. There are some songs that feel like whirlpools to me - they sweep you up at the start and spin you faster and faster around as they get more and more intense, until you finally crash into the center at the end of it. "Paint It Black" is one of those songs, and while I listened to many interesting covers of it by lady musicians, this cover by Versaemerge is the only one that kept that whirlpool quality of the Stones's original take. And that's important to Gretchen's arc in this book particularly - she is a person with a pessimistic worldview, one who sees bright colors and can't help but paint them black, and in this story she's slowly sucked down into despair thinking she can never escape thinking that way. Book 3 is about saving Gretchen from that spiral, to get her to finally see the colors all around her.
Chapter 10: The Boy Behind the Mask - Baby Boy by Worthikids. Ironically, despite this chapter being a riff on the song Alex Cooper wrote for Jason Voorhees, I chose a different Friday the 13th inspired song to represent it on the soundtrack. Baby Boy is sung from the perspective of Pamela Voorhees, Jason's mother, and highlights the tragedy at the core of the series that's kind of overlooked by the movies themselves - namely that Jason was a child who drowned because of negligent child care workers, and that all the murders that spiral out of that negligence come from a place of grief and, weirdly, love. Which is, ultimately, what this chapter explores through Buddy - a very similar character to Jason that's being explored in a story that, unlike the Friday the 13th movies, can actually step back and explore the tragedy at the core of him. He's a child who's suffered a great deal of cruelty and neglect, and beneath the horrors he's committed there's grief, love, and trauma that needs to be dealt with.
Chapter 11: All Hallowed Eve - The Guide to Success by Joe Iconis. This song is for the coven and their benefactor, Shax, as the collective antagonist of the book - a song that demands a young worker server all social ties and devote themselves solely to advancing in the workplace by kissing the asses of their superiors and throwing away any notions of compassion and morality. A song about selling your soul on behalf of a company that doesn't give two shits about you, basically, i.e. a perfect summation of the villains' philosophy in this book.
Chapter 12: The Land of the Dead - Land of the Dead by Voltaire. I think it's pretty self explanatory how a song called "Land of the Dead" fits a chapter called "The Land of the Dead" that's about people exploring the land of the dead.
Chapter 13: The Devil and Gretchen Pappenheimer - Famous Last Words by My Chemical Romance. In the early planning phases of this series, I knew I wanted Gretchen to have a Faust arc, and that I wanted it to resolve with a Devil and Daniel Webster style afterlife trial scene, and the rest of this book's plot all kind of fell in place in service of reaching that moment. So it's kind of funny to me that I had trouble finding a song that did the scene justice - one of my first attempts was "The Trial" by Pink Floyd, but it didn't feel quite right. I finally found what I was looking for during a different but related WSM soundtrack task - I was looking at songs from my college and high school years to add to the developing series soundtrack, and revisited the entirety of MCR's The Black Parade. That album was so important to me in college, and the ending of it, "Famous Last Words," is this beautiful finale where the protagonist of the album decides whether or not to keep on living or give in and die. Which, again, is kind of what Gretchen's story about - will she succumb to her own low view of herself, or will she realize there are people who love her and that she has a reason to fight for her right to exist? The increasingly passionate chorus of "I am not afraid to keep on living/I am not afraid to walk this world alone" "Honey if you stay you'll be forgiven" "Nothing you can say can stop me going home" fits this chapter so well, and I like to think of the two verses - nearly identical but different in slight ways - are sort of figurative Shax and Helseng using the same facts about Gretchen to argue different perspectives on her morality, while the build in the second half of the song - "I see you lying next to me/with words I thought I'd never speak/awake and unafraid/asleep or dead" - as the part of the chapter where Stinkbaby and Buddy provide the crucial soul-saving testimony on Gretchen's behalf. Man that's entirely too many thoughts on this, let's move on.
Chapter 14: Doom Defied - Death Is Not the End by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. I view this as a joint theme for both Gretchen and, oddly enough, Helseng, who doesn't appear in this chapter but was crucial for it being as happy as it is. In Gretchen's case, it shows the progress her arc has made since it began in the first book by being an inversion of her first theme, "Paint It Black." While "Paint it Black" is about feeling sorrow and grief even when surrounded by happiness and joy, "Death Is Not the End" is about finding hope and optimism even when facing a worse case scenario. Gretchen is no longer a person who assumes the worst about herself and how others view her, because she's face the worst fate she could imagine, and not only did her friends stick up for her, but Death herself argued that Gretchen deserved another chance. As for Helseng, well, "Death is not the end" is very much the message of the Death Arcana she represents, and the mechanical reality of what death is in the world of this story - and, by proxy, what her role is as a grim reaper. She is not the end of people, but the one who brings them to the next step of their journey, and a guide who loves her charges even as they face dire peril.

Nameless crush (ft Piccolo)
Part 1: Curiosity
So beautiful. I found a perfect spot in the forest. A beautiful view of the sun resting on the horizon. Gohan took me her a few weeks back when we were trying to escape fangirls and paparazzi cause I asked to take a picture of him in his Great Saiyan Man outfit. I chuckled at the memory off Gohan almost being stripped naked by a bunch of fan girls.
I stared at the horizon as the fresh breeze hit my face. I enjoyed every minute of it. The peace, the fresh air, the view, nature. You couldn't find any of these in the city. Other than that there was something else about this place that drew me in, I don't know if its just the beauty of mother nature but something in me keeps telling me to come back. Like I'll find something more.
But every time I came back there wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary. I took out my earphones from my pocket and placed them in my ears. A song was already playing, probably because I never turn my music off. I listen to music more than I listen to people so I like to something playing just incase I need to tune out someone.
I laid there on the grass and looked up at the semi dark clouds in the sky.
"Hmm, could rain soon."I said to myself. Though I didn't really care if it rained. I don't mind getting wet. I closed my eyes and dozed off. Drifting into my secluded dream world.
I felt a wet, icy drop hit my cheek, though I dismissed it and went back to sleep. It wasn't until I heard a sound of someone moving, that I shot up and looked around, scanning my surroundings.
"Probably just another animal walking past."I said to myself as I let out a breath of relief. Though I couldn't help but feel like I was being watched. It started raining harder. I took out my earphones, my I've already went through my whole playlist so my music stopped playing a while ago. I looked up at the sky, letting the water stream down my face.
"Shouldn't you be indoors right now?"asked a deep, male voice from behind. It startled me but I didn't show it.
"I could ask you the same thing."I replied, my face still enjoying the cool rain. "Its raining cats and dogs out here, why aren't you inside?"
"I like training in the rain sometimes."the man said. "Whats your excuse?"
I stood up and cracked back, my back still facing the man.
"I like the rain out here and I don't feel like going back to the city. Its so peaceful here."
"Don't earthlings usually get sick from sleeping in the rain though?"he asked. "Earthling?" I thought.
Is this guy one of the aliens I've heard of or just weirdo. I heard him take a few steps closer. With my guard up, I turned quickly turned around to face this strange man.
I jumped back in shock to see him right in front of me. His chest so close to my face. It looked like...is he green? His purple gi that stuck to his green, wet, toned body and a white cape that gently flew in the breeze.
"Ok so he's clearly an alien. Dare I look up at his face?"
I slowly lifted my head up at the green man...alien. His dark, ivory eyes looked down at mine. I tried my best to hide my nervousness but I guess he could sense it becuase he took a few steps back.
I stared at his face, his features for a while. He didn't look that bad, actually pretty handsome.
"So are you gonna answer my question or just keep staring?"he questioned with an annoyed tone. It snapped me out of my thoughts breaking me out of the trance I was in.
"Oh yeah, sorry. I was just-"
"Staring at the hideous monster before you?"
I waved my arms frantically in the air, with an embarrassing blush on my face.
"What!? No, no. I mean I was staring but," I trailed off. "You're not hideous, you're actually pretty handsome for an alien. Gah! Not that I'm saying aliens are ugly but-"
He raised his hand, cutting me off. "Its fine. I understand, most people react this way when they see me",he said. "At least before running away screaming. Which I believe now is your cue to do so."
"Why would I do that?"I asked.
"Why not? Most earthlings do." He seemed curious.
"Well I'm not most. Thats stereotypical."I said, glaring at him. His dark, cold eyes staring back.
We glared at each other for about a minute until...I sneezed. He chuckled a bit before going back to his stoic state.
"Whats so funny?"I asked.
"I guess that answers my question."he teased. "You should head home, before it gets worse." He turned and flew up a few feet in the air.
"Hey wait, you can fly? Then why not give me a lift!?",I yelled out. He stopped mid-flight and turned to me with a grin on his face.
"I don't pick up weirdo's who like sleeping in the rain.",he responded. "Sorry but you're on your own. I also noticed that you didn't come here with a car, better start walking."
He then flew off, leaving me here.
"Why you big green–ugh!",I yelled, stomping my foot on the wet ground.
"Guess its my fault anyway. But he could've been a little helpful."
I walked back to the city, it wasn't to far from where I was. Plus it wasn't that bad since the rain lightened. Everything I had on was soaked and the uncomfortably wet clothes made it almost unbearable. But I made it nonetheless.
I opened the door to my apartment, tracking water and mud all over my floor. I stripped and got into the bath. After what happened I didn't feel like another shower. After the 20 minute soak I got into my fuzzy PJs, and slippers and made myself some tea while binge watching My wife and kids. I didn't pay attention to most of it as I was busy thinking of that alien guy I met. I silently cursed when I realised I didn't get his name. My God he was handsome. I needed to take a picture of him next time.
~
I couldn't sleep. My thoughts of this guy kept me up. Question after question hitting my brain whenever I tried to sleep. I needed to know more, to see more, to hear more. I got up around 3 in the morning and packed all my stuff. I wore my favourite black and yellow hoodie, dark jeans and purple sneakers. I left the apartment and headed to the same spot. Multitasking trying to tie my hair and eat a chocolate bar for my "breakfast".
I headed to the spot, the sun started rising in between the moutains. Letting nice warm light hit my face.
"Oh, it's you again." That deep voice, it was definitely him. "Though I didn't expect you to be here so early.",he said, he sounded intrigued. "Or do you always do this every morning?"
"Nope, I couldn't sleep so I decided to come here and explore the forest.",I said.
"Oh really. There's a lot of places to go to but you decided to come to this exact spot. Why?"
I wanted to turn around and look at him but fear of staring into those eyes stopped me.
"I just wanted to enjoy the view first.",I said nervously.
"Ok let me not stop you. Enjoy.",he said somehow knowingly. I heard him walking further away from me with each step.
"Wait.",I said. He stopped. "What's your name?" I turned to him. His back facing me. He glanced over his shoulder, his dark pupils got a glimpse of me.
"Piccolo."he said.
"Piccolo." His name felt sweet when I uttered it. Leaving my lips tingling.
"Nice name.",I happily said.
"I believe this is the part where you tell me yours." He came closer but this time I showed no nervousness. I tried to keep a neutral face but a smile crept out when he took his final step.
"Nope. I don't feel obligated to go around telling my name to strangers."
"You're a weird one."
"Really? Thank you, I was always told I wasn't normal. Now here an alien is, proving everyones point by calling me weird.
He gave me a small smile before levitating with his legs crossed. His eyes never leaving mine. Like he was observing me.
"Didn't anyone tell you its rude to stare?"I asked.
"Thats funny coming from someone who couldn't take their eyes off me yesterday."
I couldn't say anything. I just stared at him as a light blush appeared on my face. A soft chuckle escaped his lips, like he found this amusing.
I let out a fake cough. "What?"
"Why are you nervous?",he questioned. I snapped myself out of it and stood confidently.
"I'm not. Why would I be?" I folded my arms and turned to the side avoiding his gaze.
"Your face."
"What about my face?" I then became self conscious. Was there something on my face?
"Nothing. So you're not going to tell me your name?"he asked, changing the topic.
"No, why do you wanna know anyway?" At this point I was just trying to distract him with questions so he'd stop staring.
"Just curious."
The sound of his feet touching the ground made me quickly turn to face him. He glanced down at my bag for a second before looking back at me.
"Guess I'll see you tomorrow then.",he said before walking away.
"How do you know I'll be here tomorrow?",I asked suspiciously.
"I know you will.",he stated before taking off.
I sighed. Sweet breath of relief. His charcoal coloured eyes stopped staring into my soul. At least I knew his name now.
"Piccolo."

so so so I was on my way to work this morning blasting music right. not paying any particular attention to anything, just letting my playlist shuffle through bc I still had major fog brain and didn't think of anything past hitting play and what not.
Well suddenly mantra by bring me the horizon came on and it snapped me awake, particularly the part right after the second chorus that goes like "I know it doesn't make a lot of sense, all I'm asking for's a little bit of faith" bc my brain was like !!! major miraak and ldb vibes holy shit (which btw this entire blog is responsible for my new obsession with him so thanks)
like that part just hits soooo well for that. the lbd asking miraak to just have faith in them!!! and leave apocrypha with them. I had it on repeat for hours today and it's just been stuck it my head for the rest
aaa!! i don't usually listen to new BMTH but you're so right about this song. it's been added to my Miraak playlist. it goes so well. i'll link it here for anyone who wants to listen
"I promise I can save you."
The Last Dragonborn's words rattled Miraak's bones. Their hand was covered in blood and ink when they thrust it toward him. Eyes full of desperation watched his every move over the Black Book sitting open in their lap, dark magic whirling and twisting over its pages.
He couldn't trust them. They were his enemy. He belonged in Apocrypha even if it crumbled. He wanted nothing more than to squash their obnoxious hopefulness. He couldn't be saved, didn't know if he wanted to be.
"Close your eyes and listen carefully, Dragonborn." Miraak put every ounce of hatred into his words. They didn't even flinch. "I am bound to this realm. You cannot save me."
"I'm the only one that can save you." Their hand grabbed his, warm skin sticking together and Miraak was disgusted by the way his heart leapt. He'd stomped down his feelings for so long. He wouldn't allow himself to feel that way about the Last Dragonborn.
"How do you expect to do this?" That damned smile was on their face at his words. He knew he'd lost to them yet again. He had spent lifetimes building himself into an unbeatable foe but failed time and time again when met with the Last Dragonborn.
"I know it doesn't make a lot of sense." They babbled and gripped his hand so tight he swore he'd lose feeling. "All I'm asking for is a little bit of faith."
Their words took his breath away. The Book's green glow cast eerie shadows across the Last Dragonborn's face when they looked over at him and Miraak caught a glance of what they could have been. He imagined them at his side at the height of his power, matching thrones in his palace, the unstoppable force they could have become had they met under different circumstances.
"Can you believe in me?"
It's so easy to believe in them. Miraak felt himself nodding before he could think better of it. Apocrypha's seas beat against their platform and for the first time in ages he felt hope. It was a dangerous feeling but the Last Dragonborn gave him hope.
The world turned upside down. Miraak was nauseous when he tumbled through empty space, flashes of green and black stealing his vision when he succumbed to the power of the Black Book. The Last Dragonborn clung to his hand through it all. They never let him go.
Landing back on Skyrim knocked the air from his lungs. The bright sun overhead blinded him and old smells he'd long forgotten filled his nose. Trees towered overhead and Miraak waited for his vision to stop swirling.
Despite his worst fears the Last Dragonborn never let go of Miraak's hand. They squeezed his fingers to call his attention. He hesitated - his mask had been lost in their last battle. He wasn't sure what they saw when they looked at his face, if he'd become some horrible monster like the Seekers.
Their eyes crinkled when they smiled up at him. Miraak knew he was staring but couldn't help himself - the grime covering their face did nothing to stop his heart from hammering. He even felt a bit guilty for leaving so many wounds on them.
"How did you do that?" He whispered, trying to figure out how they'd cast a calming or persuasion enchantment without him noticing. He knew the truth but had to bury it. He couldn't have feelings for the Last Dragonborn. Absolutely not.
"Do what?" They laughed, rolling closer to Miraak over the dirty ground of whatever forest they'd landed in. "I just talked to you. You're the one that listened."
They were dangerous. Far too charismatic for their own good. Miraak's heart leapt when the Dragonborn leaned close to him, studying his face. They didn't seem horrified so it couldn't be too bad, though he didn't feel inclined to find a mirror anytime soon.
"You're too persuasive." Miraak felt himself smiling, a plan already forming in his mind. His last plot had only failed because he was working against the Last Dragonborn, but on the same side they could conquer everything. "Do you want to start a cult with me?"

musical tag game!
@fortunatetragedy tagged me a couple days ago and if y'all know anything about me is how much i fucking LOVE talking about the musical influences behind my silly lil guys.
I want to know what 1-3 songs you feel best embody a character from your WIP/s, either in general or at this moment in the plot.
nailing Ricky to a cross for this one, so saddle up boys. (he does have a full playlist which you can listen to here!)
"Rabbit Hole", by AViVA
I could say I'll take you I could say I'll make you But underneath all I plan to do, to do is break you You could be my breakthrough Watching demons wait 'til I leave you, and they can initi-niti-nitiate you
aside from the "haha, i get it, because William's a rabbit" imagery and obvious play on words, Ricky's journey is all about facing his demons head-on while sauntering into the deepest pits of hell with the casualness of a man uncaring for his borrowed time. the problem is, hell would've been a cozier alternative to whatever the fuck Ricky has gotten himself into. he thinks he can play William's game and win, and the same can be said for William. unfortunately both took calculated risks and boy howdy they are both bad at math.
2. "Destroy Me," by Mr.Kitty
I couldn't run I wouldn't hide Lay on the ground I should've died Red river flows Lights start to fade Your work is done Please, let me decay I need you to hurt me I need you to fight me I need you to kill me I need you to destroy me
sometime in his youth Ricky really thought that suffering abuse was the only way to atone for the horrors he had no control of, and because by lying and saying he was actively inviting said abuse he felt like he had a modicum of control over said situations. he likes to think he grew out of that. :) he's older and wiser now :)) not at all unwillingly desperate to accept whatever kind of "love" he can take. :)))))
3. "Panic Room," by Au/Ra
Still waiting, hands shaking Maybe the coast will clear But these voices, these strange noises They followed me in here My phone has no signal It's making my skin crawl The silence is so loud The lights spark and flicker With monsters much bigger Than I can control now Welcome to the panic room Where all your darkest fears are gonna Come for you, come for you Welcome to the panic room You'll know I wasn't joking When you see them too, see them too
SURELY the conses won't quences, right. right?
BONUS TRACK: "Points of Authority," by Linkin Park because RIP Ricky would've loved this band were he around in the 2000s but also 'You love the way I look at you / While taking pleasure in the awful things you put me through.' :)))))
no pressure tagging @opaleyedprince, @ap0stle, @the-golden-comet, @deanwax, +open for anyone who wants to do the thing.

Do you have any songs you associate with the group and or a particular DunMeshi character? I have a few I associate with Laios and Kabru (mostly Hozier tbh) but been having a harder time for Falin, Marcille, and even Thistle.
the way this launched me into a day long project of making playlists lmfao
This one I haven't curated super well, but I think i put it in a general progression that makes sense. Unfortunately I have a very small range of music that I listen to so Falin just turned into my millionth Sara Bareilles/Ingrid Michaelson themed girlie LMAO
Highlights on this playlist for me:
"Let the Rain" is just an entire mood for post-canon Falin I think. the line that hits the hardest about her for me is "and I always felt it before, that the world was filled with much more than the drowning soul I've learned to be."
"Twenty-three" i know i know i know it's kpop and no one's gonna get the lyrics but I couldn't not put it on the list. it's literally about being 23 and not knowing what kind of "woman" you want to become and still feeling like you want to be a kid a little bit and wanting to be understood but knowing that you don't even understand yourself and feeling like you're running out of time because you're firmly in your 20's now
"Secrets" i know is incredibly personal to Mary Lambert but most of the lyrics really fit and that like... intensely joyful self expression is just so delightful and lovely and what i want for Falin in the post-canon.
"I Am Here" to me, is just the ultimate celebration of being alive, of being joyful and grateful and happy that you're a messy animal that can laugh and hurt. I think Falin would cherish being half-monster, the fact that it gave her a second chance at choosing to be alive rather than sacrificing herself for others and letting that be her entire story, and the freedom it gives her to keep living.
you have to promise not to judge me on this one. you have to. yes i went ahead and curated an entire playlist that has okay-ish transitions/flow between songs and thematically follows Marcille's journey through the story. i also put a bit of kpop on it but it FITS okay she's a girly girl!!!!
It's rough. it's really really rough right now and i'll probably come back to it but the concrete songs i was trying to build around are like...
"What is Love?" it's literally just a girly girl song about wondering what love might feel like. complete with daydreaming about romantic stories and hoping all that wonderfulness will happen to you.
"Men of Snow" okay i know it's Ingrid Michaelson again but hear me out. this song is so fucking heartbreaking. it can be taken in different ways but if you put in Marcille's context it's gutting. it's a song about mortality and the impermanence of everything set to an almost cutesy waltz-beat piano accompaniment.
"Que Sera, Sera" self-explanatory, I think. im lucky this cover is on spotify because it's such a perfect song for encapsulating the entire sequence where Marcille decides to become the dungeon lord. (the second iteration at the end of the playlist is happier, taking the happy and calm interpretation of "what will be, will be", and also includes the second verse about a "sweetheart")
"What Sarah Said" it's a song about being in the ICU waiting for news about a loved one while suddenly realizing that there's nothing you can do. i think almost every line in this song guts me about Marcille, picturing her waiting for Falin to wake up the second time. (it's also my very pretentious attempt at tying the playlist together by answering the earlier question. What is love? "Love is watching someone die.")
"The Last Snowfall" is just. Vienna Teng has been my favourite artist since I was fifteen and part of it is that she has this incredibly beautiful way of leaving lyrics impactful but ambiguous. This song isn't about being afraid of losing someone but miraculously getting a happy ending, it's just an exploration of that fear with a "what if" built in, and I just think it's such a good way of capturing how Marcille was prepared to lose Falin and that was so important, almost even more important than the fact that it ended up being a happy ending anyway. also I wish i could have put in the live version because it's insane
For Thistle the only recommendation I have is Bird Song by Florence and the Machine it's wonderfully eerie, i literally think it's the best musical depiction of that specific kind of guilty murderer anxiety of "the telltale heart" from edgar allan poe

So I made that playlist for Game of Shards (and just generally, the turtles), and I've decided to explain the TGP-specific songs in excessive detail bc y'all don't understand the depths of my hyper-fixations.
For the most part, the playlist is in chronological order; however, some of the songs are grouped by general vibes (e.g., songs for Leo's various timeouts in the darkness are all grouped together as opposed to being chronological with the story), and whenever it switches perspective, it may go back to previous chapters (e.g., the first 40-ish songs follow Leo through Ch. 1-7, and then it jumps back to Ch 2 for his brothers' POVs). Instrumentals/OSTs are scattered throughout as interludes between scenes and/or perspectives.
Tbh I don't even mind if people actually read this; I just wanted to write this down lmao
If y'all have any suggestions or song recs, feel free to put them out there! (I reserve the right not to add them to the playlist tho—no hard feelings 🙃) I will probably continue adding to this list because I keep finding more and more songs lol
TGP spoiler alert (duh...). Also TW for mental health issues in some songs.
ROTTMNT Movie
1. "Everybody Loves Me" - Okay, but this song is just like LEO all the way. 2. "give a little." - Leo, stop that angsty middle-child nonsense (saxophone slaps tho). 3. "Expectations" - I ain't got much to say about this one tbh. I feel like it fits the vibe though. 4. "Doomsday" - Leo's getting frustrated with all this leader/hero business. He wants to go back to the simpler times when all he had to do was look pretty and smooth talk. 5. "Not OK" - Leo's tired of being told what to do. the lyrics "Sorry can you please repeat the question? / I'm broke, and I never pay attention" really give that Leo+Raph scene in Leo's room in the movie. 6. "ight bet" - Leo gets cocky and impulsive. 7. "One Wrong Turn" - It's not so much the lyrics as the theme of the song. In other words, Leo, you done fxcked up. "Something funny that I've learned / Is just how quickly fate can turn / How one simple mistake can take you out (out, out, out) / Something funny that I've found / Is just how quickly worlds burn down / Make one wrong turn and you can't turn around ('round, 'round, 'round) / One wrong turn can burn things to the ground." 8. "The Tornado" - LISTEN TO THESE LYRICS. They fit the movie perfectly, especially "Every fiber in me screamed out, but I couldn't make a sound / The whirling of a vortex, a violent carousel / It sounded like a freight train was draggin' me to hell / And this was my prayer / "Save me from this terrible nightmare!" / That was when I saw my family with my eyes shut real tight / Would they know how much I loved them if this was how I died? / No, I vowed I'd not be murdered by a monster in the sky that night." 9. "Otherside" - Leo's existential crisis following the Invasion Pt. 1 10. "When I Die" - Leo's existential crisis following the Invasion Pt. 2.
TGP Ch. 1: Leo Reminiscing
11. "Hold It Down" - More existential crisis, but now with that ever-familiar side of guilt and regret. 12. "Humpty Dumpty" - Something's wrong (*cough* PTSD *cough* chronic injuries *cough*). Leo's trying to push through it. 13. "Home" - The lyrics "When I fall, will you show me who I'm meant to be? / Because I'm getting tired of who I've become", "I'm not a hero or a child, I'm just something in between", and "Days passed as I would start to scream / I'd hear the words around my head like they were circling / You'll never be who they all want you to become / Oh will I make them proud enough / Or am I even worth the love / Don't let my self-doubt take my pride away, yeah / Because my spirit felt the cuts / And my ego lost its luster just as fast as I could say" hits my soul. Poor Leo. 14. "Growing Sideways" - Leo's brothers all seem to be healing, why isn't he? 15. "Superkid" - Leo's a ninja, a hero, yet something is still wrong—he realizes it's him. He surveys the damage to the city and thinks of the struggles his family has faced. He blames himself. ("So, hide your face / Smile at the people even if it's fake / 'Cause they can't know your kryptonite / Fly around the city, make 'em think you're fine / But you can't save them.") 16. "Tread On Me" - Leo's trying to take responsibility, but he's drained. "Lotta miles, lotta folds, I'm still tryin' to just get back up / Don't you tread on me / I could hardly sleep / So I don't / And I can hardly speak / So I won't." "I'm tryna live in the moment like you told me / I'm tryna control it without givin' it up / I'm a soldier and I'm on my feet for now." 17. "Porcelain" - It's the glass theme, guys. 18. "One Winged Airplane" - Self-deprecation with just a touch of despair. ("Even though I keep on fallin', I just pick myself back up / I just keep puttin' my all in, even though it's not enough / I've lost so much already, so what? I'm not afraid to show up.") (I'm biased toward the ADHD songs ngl.) 19. "Corner of the World" - Depression(TM): Leo Style. ("It was tough when he was younger, but he finally got it down / Convincing everybody he's a comic, he's a clown / 'Cause he hides it so well that it can't possibly be found / He's constantly let down, but he says that he heals / He laughs and jokes about it, but it isn't real / He just mirrors the emotions that he wish he could feel / But if no one ever noticed, it's a victory still.")
Ch. 1: Leo's Run
20. "Run Away to Mars" - The song's a vibe, and it fits the scene, what can I say? 21. "Run" - Leo was getting stir-crazy in the lair. Luckily, he can go for a nice run while he waits for the pizzas. ("Something isn't right, I can't hear the inner me / But my shell is doing well, so nobody intervenes / Convos feel like interviews, I get through by any means / Mirror on my face, I'm just displaying what you give to me / Every day I fantasize of burning it all / Go somewhere where I would never be a burden at all / Take every penny that I ever earned and give it away / Disconnect the telephone and disappear in a day.") 22. "run little hero" - "Run, run, run, run from your friends, from your family / Like they're the next calamity / Cut them out like profanity, – into insanity / Running from your commitments / You're running up on the price / You better run little hero / 'Cause you're running out of time." Also, the last lyric of this song killed me. 23. "Run Boy Run" - Just a run, a nice, chill, definitely-not-gonna-have-consequences run.
Ch. 1: Leo and the EPF Van (plus ~panic attacks~)
24. "Paranoia" - Leo notices a black van. Again. And again. 25. "Overwhelmed" - Pretty self-explanatory if you know the song—though this is a different cover than the OG, so a bunch of the lyrics are different. (Personally, I like this version better.)
Ch. 1: Leo v. Mark and Clark
26. "OH WELL" - Everything's gone to shit. 27. "life is good" - Leo cannot, in fact, dodge tranquilizers. "Face down, but I can feel my body moving / Is this real or am I in an illusion / Get up get up I’m only human / Pupils dilated like I’m bout to lose it / so crazy so I turn off the news / Living in a lie and we can’t see the truth / Every one fighting tell me which side are you" 28. "Redecorate" - "I don't want to go like this / At least let me clean my room. / I don't want to leave like this / 'Cause the last thing I want to do is / Make my people make decisions / Wondering what to do." 29. "alive (it's a lie) - demo" - As Leo succumbs to the tranqs, he can't help but think of his brothers, all seemingly on the road to full recovery. Meanwhile, he's stuck. Some ninja he is.
1. Interlude
30. "Sinister Intentions" - Get it? Bc the EPF has sinister intentions? Somebody stop me
Ch. 3: Leo Wakes up and Meets Bishop
31. "Lucky Charms" - Leo wakes up in his cell and thinks lots of lovely self-loathing thoughts. ("Wish I could say, wish I could say / That this won't last forever / But every day, but every day / It never seems to get better / I hate myself but I don't want to / I'd ask for help but I'm too strong to / I got some feelings I've been fighting / Always hiding the truth.") 32. "Now That We're Alone" - Bishop and Leo vibes all the way.
Ch. 3-7: The Darkness (AKA Leo's timeouts) & Bishop's Interrogations
33. "Black Water" - Just listen, you'll get it. 34. "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead" - Leo goin' crazy, y'all 😜 35. "Timebomb" - Leo's thoughts toward B-Man during literally every interrogation. 36. "Panic Room" - All bets are off when the lights turn off. 37. "Talking To Myself - demo" - He misses his family, your honor. 38. "Pretty Little Smile" - Leo's trying his best to hold it together. 39. "Ship in a Bottle" - Leo spiraling about Bishop and the EPF and his brothers and... 40. "SAD (Clap Your Hands)" - Thinking specifically of Leo doing the Cup Song here.
2. Interlude
41. "Solas" - Felt like this one was properly somber, but still a good transition into the frantic energy of Leo's brothers in Ch. 2.
Ch. 2-6: Donnie, Raph, & Mikey Want Their Brother Back
42. "Enough" - Donnie is angry at everything. He just wants Leo back. 43. "Me Myself & I" - Donnie regrets fighting with his family. 44. "Happy Song (Low Key)" - Mikey's gonna keep smiling if it kills him. 45. "Brightside" - Mikey tries to hold the family together while dealing with his own issues regarding Leo's capture. 46. "I'm Doing Fine" - Raph struggles under the leader's mantle.
3. Interlude
47. "Glacial Basin" - An appropriately unnerving prelude to Bishop's plan(s).
Ch. 8: Bishop Tries To Manipulate Leo
48. "Twisted" - Leo is (high on pain and painkillers but also) so confused. Come on, Bishop, you're hurting his concussed, drugged-up turtle brain.
Ch. 9: Bioagent-X
49. "Control" - Leo gets angry at Bishop, escapes, and finds his brothers, but he doesn't know what's going on with himself. (I know this song's kinda overused in a lot of fandoms, but I couldn't not include it. I mean, it makes sense here, doesn't it??)
Ch. 10: Turtles v. EPF
50. "Clouds" - Bioagent-X takes its toll. The EPF attacks. 51. "CHOKE" - The plan falls apart. Leo is taken once again. Angst, spice, and nothing is nice.
4. Interlude
52. "Fade (Interlude)" - It's a sad moment, dammit.
Ch. 11-12: They Are All Struggling
53. "everything is falling apart again" - I felt like this song fits Raph very well, especially here. One of his themes in TGP was that he felt like things were falling apart, and since the first half of this chapter is from his perspective following the disaster that was Ch. 10, this was the perfect place for this song. 54. "Gravedigger" - Leo is throwing reason and caution to the wind. If he's his own gravedigger, why not dig his grave as deep as possible and make it even more difficult for the EPF? 55. "Dark Room" - Back home again to his cell and the darkness and Bishop's manipulations. "Way down we go / To the dark room / Where your pain's the only one to greet you / Down we go / To the mind that / Will deceive you. / Only out to get you." 56. "Numb" - Leo struggles with despair. 57. "Headlights" - Leo's had enough. "Is it only me or do you / Ever feel like you've had enough? / Screaming at the top of your lungs / These days it's so dark and I can't get my head right / Mind is spinning out of control / Running, but there's nowhere to go / These days it's so dark that I can't see with headlights."
5. Interlude (and Ch. 12)
58. "Rain, in Your Black Eyes" - I know it's long, but this is my favorite instrumental piece. It's solemn but gradually hopeful. This song follows Leo regaining his Ninpō in Ch. 12.
Ch. 12: A Small Spark, A Blue Flame
59. "Power" - Leo uses his Ninpō and faces down the EPF with his escape in sight.
Ch. 13: Mind Meld
60. "Brother" - They've found him (granted, in the Mind Meld). (And, yes, I know the song's overused yada yada, but it fits.) 61. "can you hear me?" - Leo's gotten this far, but he can't get out alone. 62. "No Chances" - "We want you home in one piece now / We come for you, no chances"
6. Interlude
63. "The Last Survivors" - Cinematic and dramatic.
Ch. 14: Leo Holds On
64. "Come Home" - Leo's trying to come home. 65. "Bones" - Leo plays a desperate, painful game of hide-and-seek while his Ninpō fades in and out of his control. 66. "Bleeding Out" - This song makes me specifically think of when the EPF overtakes Leo after Bishops turns off the lights. 67. "My Tears Are Becoming A Sea" - Leo sees his brothers' light in the impenetrable darkness.
Ch. 14: Hamatos to the Rescue
68. "Flares" - Leo's family is here for him. 69. "Edge of Rain" - Hamatos v. EPF (Take 2)
Ch. 15: They Got Him Back
70. "Call Your Mom" - Yes, I know the song's about Noah Kahan's girlfriend, BUT "Stayed on the line with you the entire night / 'Til you let it out and let it in / Don't let this darkness fool you / All lights turned off can be turned on", "Waiting room, no place to stand / His greatest fears and wringing hands and the loudest silence / If you could see yourself like this", and "Don't wanna drive another mile wonderin' if you're breathin' / So, won't you stay, won't you stay, won't you stay with me?" IT FITS DAMMIT.
Ch. 16: Bishop's Boutta Get It, Guys
71. "Start a War" - Okay, but why does this song describe Game of Shards (not just TGP) so well? I think specifically of the lines: "Bang, shots fired. / Pain is what you desire. / The pen is mightier than the sword." ;)
7. Interlude
72. "Nuvole Bianche" - The send-off. For now.
Once again, feel free to suggest other songs. You may have noticed that some chapters/scenes didn't have any songs, so if you think you know a song that would fit somewhere, lmk! (I'm particularly salty that I haven't found songs for any scenes with the Krang Sister :P)

After we left the station, Jonathan sped back to his house. As soon as we got there, we all hopped out of the car, grabbing the monster hunting gear and heading inside the house. We all got to work putting the items where they needed to go, as well as screwing all the Christmas bulbs back in.
As Nancy loaded the bullets into the revolver, I stood next to her, watching. We looked at each other. “You’re scary with a gun.”
She smiled a little, looking back down. “I feel like a badass.”
I heard hammering, so I went to see where the noise was coming from. It was coming from Jonathan, hammering nails into a wooden bat.
Nancy stood next to me, gas can in hand, asking me to pour gasoline down the hallway into Will’s room.
Once the bear trap was secured down and ready to go, Jonathan went into the kitchen and got three sharp knives out of the utensil drawer, handing me and Nancy one each.
“Wait, so… we’re gonna cut ourselves to draw the Demogorgon to us?” I asked.
“Yes,” Jonathan said. “Now, remember–”
“Straight into Will’s room, and–,” Nancy said.
“Don’t step on the trap.”
They looked at me, waiting for me to add in the next step. “Oh! Uhm… wait for the yo-yo to move.”
“Then…” Jonathan said, flicking on the lighter before closing it. “You ready?”
“Ready,” Nancy said.
I took a deep breath, putting the blade of the knife to the palm of my hand. Jonathan started counting to three before he told me and Nancy that we didn’t have to slice our hands, the latter saying to stop talking before saying the number three and all three of us slicing our hands, blood immediately pouring out of our hands.
Letting the sting settle in for a moment, I ran to the kitchen sink, putting my hand under the water. Once I felt the bleeding had died down some, I put paper towels on my hand to help stop the bleeding as Nancy got my bandages ready.
She wrapped my hand as tight as I told her to before we all moved to the living room, me having bandaged Nancy’s hand before she started bandaging Jonathan’s hand.
We all heard faint creaking, so we looked around a little as I stopped my pacing from in front of the window, Nancy asking us if we heard the same noise she did.
“It’s just the wind,” Jonathan said.
I went back to my pacing as Jonathan reassured Nancy, “Don’t worry. My mom, she said the lights speak when it comes.”
“Speak?” Nancy asked.
“Blink. Think of them as alarms.”
A few seconds goes by before Nancy asks Jonathan if his bandages were too tight, his reply being that they were fine.
A banging on the door made me jump out of my skin, a hand over my heart as I tried to get my breathing back in check.
“Jonathan? You there, man? It’s-it’s Steve!”
I looked at Nancy then back at the door, confused. “Steve?” “Listen, I just wanna talk!”
“Liv, answer it,” Nancy whispered.
I looked at her as if she were crazy before she repeated her words, getting my ass in gear. Removing the chain lock on it, I opened the door, saying, “Do you really have to yell?” while putting my bandaged hand on the outside of the door.
“Liv?”
“Steve, you need to leave,” I said, as softly and calmly as I could.
“I’m not trying to start anything,” he said.
“I don’t care about that, that was 6 hours ago. You just… you need to leave. Please.”
“No, no, no, I–I messed up, okay? I messed… I messed up. Okay? Really. Please. I wanna make things right.”
I just looked at him, sadness in my eyes at hearing him confess that he messed up and needed me… or really Nancy. As he was pleading with me, I was waving my non-injured hand at Nancy and Jonathan, telling them to separate if Steve comes bursting in here.
Steve looked at my injured hand, and I knew he was instantly more worried about my being hurt than trying to make things right with everybody. “What happened to your hand?” He moved my hand to try and look at it, asking if there was blood on my bandage.
“Oh, that? That’s nothing. Dustin and I were fighting over something and I guess I cut my hand.”
“Something else is going on, don’t lie to me, Liv.”
I sighed. “Nothing, Steve.” I hated lying to him.
“Wait a second, did he do this?” Steve asked, trying to push his way into the house… and being successful after I told him no. He looked around at everything; the bat, the lights, Jonathan and Nancy. “What is… what the…?”
“You need–” Jonathan started.
“Jonathan, I got this,” I said. “I know how to handle him.” Getting in front of Steve, I looked him in the eyes, saying, “You need to get out of here.”
He put his hands on my shoulders as he went to ask what all the stuff was.
“Steve, I’m not asking you. I’m telling you to get out of here.”
“What’s that smell? Is that– is that gasoline?” He tried putting me behind him to drag me out of the house. Yes, he’s done that before.
A gun cocking had me turning around, Nancy having the gun pointed in mine and Steve’s direction. “Steve, get out!”
“What? What is going on?” he freaked.
“You have five seconds to get out of here.”
“Okay, is this a joke? Stop. Put the gun down.”
I saw Steve’s hands in my periphery, almost like he was trying to protect me… or just to try and get Nancy to not shoot at us, I don’t know.
“I’m doing this for you,” Nancy said.
I heard Jonathan say Nancy’s name which then prompted me to pay attention to the lights as Steve was trying to negotiate with her.
“Nancy! The lights!” I yelled, which made her turn around to look at them blinking.
“It’s here,” Jonathan said, grabbing the nail bat.
“Wait, what’s here?” Steve asked.
“I swear I’ll explain everything at a later date,” I rushed out.
Nancy and Jonathan were back to back now, Steve’s questions being ignored.
“Will someone please explain to me what the hell is going–” Steve asked, before the ceiling came crashing down, the Demogorgon the obvious cause.
It hadn’t come through the slimy barrier yet before Nancy started shooting at it. Jonathan pulled her by her waist and went into the hallway as I grabbed Steve’s hand, pulling him along behind me.
“Watch the trap,” I said, jumping over it, a few “oh my god!” exclaims coming from Steve.
When we made it inside Will’s bedroom, the older Byers’ boy slammed the door shut, Steve saying, “Jesus! Jesus! What the hell was that? What the hell was that?”
I put my hand over his mouth as I heard the Demogorgon growl… or scream. “Steve, I need you to shut the fuck up.” Turning around, I took my hand off his mouth, watching the yellow yo-yo that was placed over a chair.
The lights were still flickering, thuds were heard, noises coming from the creature told me that it was still in the house.
“What’s it doing?” Nancy asked.
“I don’t know,” Jonathan answered.
At this moment, I was beyond thankful that Dustin wasn’t here to witness all this. Steve, on the other hand, I knew would be having some nightmares about this, so I was already mentally preparing for the countless sleepovers I’d be having at his house.
The electricity jolting and Nancy asking if we heard anything had me coming out of my thoughts. Jonathan answered no and opened the door, going out first, Nancy behind him and Steve and I tagging along after Nance, everything still sitting in the same places undisturbed.
We walked into the living area slowly, while looking for the creature. Jonathan, Nancy and myself were all quiet, but Steve… he was muttering that this was crazy to himself before shouting it and picking the phone up off the receiver to call the cops.
Nancy noticed and moved to stop him, slamming the phone on the ground, breaking it. I had to jump out of the way or else I’d get hit, giving a quiet “Hey!” as I did.
“What are you do– what are you doing? Are you insane?” Steve asked.
“It’s going to come back!” Nancy said. “So you need to leave. Right. Now.”
Steve looked at me, our eyes meeting. Mine begging him to leave for his own safety. He looked back at Nancy before running out of the house.
It was probably about 10 seconds after Steve had run out that the Demogorgon came back, lights flickering more than they did the few minutes prior.
“Where is it?” Nancy asked.
“Come on,” Jonathan said.
“Come on, you son of a bitch,” I exclaimed.
The lights went off a few seconds after Jonathan started provoking the creature. I felt something behind me before Nancy yelled my name. I turned around, seeing the ugly creature up close for the first time since Eleven put its playing piece on the board what seemed like forever ago.
I screamed as it took me down to the ground, its slobber getting into my mouth just a little, making me gag in the process. When it opened its face, all I saw was teeth; rows and rows of teeth.
Gun shots sounded before Nancy’s voice yelled, “Go to hell, you son of a bitch!”
It stood up, which gave me the perfect time to start coughing and taking deep breaths. Clicking brought my attention to Nancy, the creature looking at her and opening its face, showing its rows and rows of teeth.
I heard someone yell out, something thudding against something else. When Nancy said Steve’s name, I instantly went alert, my main goal trying to keep him safe. Watching as Steve led the creature to the hallway, I felt hands on me, helping me up.
Steve did some twirling motion with the bat before hitting the creature again. “He’s in the trap! He’s stuck!”
“Jonathan, now!” Nancy yelled.
Jonathan and I ran towards the hallway, him getting in front of the group, while I went to his left, standing by Steve. Jonathan threw the lit lighter onto the gasoline I had poured, the creature going up in flames for a moment before he went to get the fire extinguisher that I hadn’t seen either of them grab from the station.
Putting the creature out, we all coughed from the smoke that was coming up from the fire being doused.
When we all could see and breathe again, Nancy asked, “Where’d it go?”
“No,” Jonathan said. “It-it has to be dead.”
I sighed. “I don’t see anything other than boiling slime.”
I heard the lights before I saw them, the four of us backing up into the hallway, thinking it was the creature, but the lights stopped right at the trap before moving right back down the hallway. I looked back at Jonathan, knowing what he knows.
We followed the lights as they lit up one by one on what seemed like a single strand. We stopped near the door, Jonathan whispering, “Mom. Is that you? Mom.”
Going outside on the porch, my focus stayed on the street lamp, as was everyone else’s. It flickered before staying on.
“Where’s it going?” Nancy asked.
“I don’t think that’s the monster,” Jonathan said.
~~~
I knew Dustin was okay the moment I saw him. We both had tears in our eyes as we embraced each other in a tight hug. Looking at him, I cried even more than I already was. Crying that I was happy he was alive and well, but also sad at the information he told me about Eleven.
Everyone that was involved with the Upside Down, the Demogorgon and Eleven were all at the hospital… or the lab, I’m not sure, to sign papers, get bandaged and to visit Will. I had so much anxiety about seeing Will that my leg was bouncing as I sat in the chair.
I got up and went out of the waiting room, needing to stretch my legs and get a snack from the vending machine. Dustin was asleep on Lucas… who was asleep on Dustin, so I knew he’d be fine.
What I didn’t expect was to have a little shadow. As I looked at the contents in the vending machine, I sighed. “What do you want, Steve?”
“When I said I messed up earlier,” he said. “I really meant it. I messed up.”
“With Nancy and Jonathan?” I asked, looking at him.
“Them, yeah… and you.”
I didn’t know what to say. I just went back to looking at what I thought looked appealing.
He sighed and leaned his back on the wall next to me. “Look, I’m trying here, okay? I messed up by ditching you, I messed up by pushing you away when Nancy and I happened… I just–”
“Royally fucked up?” I asked.
He nodded, slowly. “Yeah.” Looking at me, he asked, “How can I make it up to you?”
I sighed, closing my eyes for a moment. “You remember that time we watched Halloween and I couldn’t sleep at my own house for like a week, so we had those sleepovers at your house?”
He chuckled. “Yeah. Your mom thought you ran away.”
“You remember how we called them Scary Movie Sleepovers?” I smiled.
He smiled back, nodding. “Yeah.”
“Well, get ready for a week of me staying at your house again,” I said. Looking back at the machine, my smile dwindled. “If it’s okay with Nance.”
“Look at me,” he whispered.
I did, seeing sincerity in his eyes as he said, “She’ll understand, and she knows about those nights.”
After a few seconds, I looked at an item that brought back memories. “No cheeky moves, Harrington.” I put the amount of money I needed for the item, pressing the respective buttons.
He chuckled again as I bent down to pick up my item. “You got it, Henderson.”
Opening the bag, I put some Peanut M&M’s in my hand, taking one and biting around the peanut. Steve took one, popping one into his mouth and chewing it whole.
We talked and laughed while sharing our favorite snack. The boys rushed by us, Dustin stopping to tell me that Will was awake and they were headed to see him. I told him that I’d be there in a moment and to tell Will that.
I did go and see him, tears in my eyes at seeing alive and well in person. I gave him my special hug before the boys pulled me away to talk to their best friend.
~~~
One Month Later
“Something’s coming,” Mike said. “Something angry.”
“Hungry for your blood,” I said, bending down between Mike and Dustin, hands on the backs of their chairs. “It… is almost here.”
“What is it?” Will asked.
“It’s the thessalhydra, I’m telling ya,” Dustin said.
“It’s not the thessalhydra,” Lucas said.
“I’m telling you, it’s the thessalhydra.”
Placing the gaming piece on the board, Mike said, “The thessalhydra!”
“Damn it.”
“It roars in anger!” Mike said. “Will, your action!”
“What should I do? I–” Will said.
Walking over to him, I placed my hand on the back of his chair, bending down to get eye level with him. “Fireball him.” I smiled when he looked at me.
“Fireball the son of a bitch,” Dustin said.
Will rolled the games dice, getting the amount he needed, all of them cheering.
“Fourteen!” Dustin yelled.
“Direct hit!” Mike said. “Will the Wise’s fireball hits the thessalhydra.” He stands as he continues, “It makes a painful–” Then he proceeded to screech like a dying bird. “And then, it crumbles to the ground.” He goes down on the ground, and I couldn’t help but let out a laugh.
“It’s clawed hand reaches for you one last time and, and, and…” Mike pretending to be a dying thessalhydra was one of the highlights of my night as the boys cheered and danced around.
“Lucas cuts off its seven heads, and Dustin places them into his bag of holding,” Mike continued. Dustin held up his backpack in victory as Mike added, “You carry the heads out of the dungeon, victorious, and you present them to King Tristan. He thanks you for your bravery and service.”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,” Dustin said. “That’s not it, is it?” He looked up at me. “Is it?”
“No, there’s a medal ceremony–” Mike said.
“Oh, a medal ceremony?” Dustin sarcastically said. “What are you talking about?”
“Yeah, the campaign was way too short,” Lucas said.
Will agreed before I cut in and said, “It was ten hours!”
“But, Liv, it doesn’t make any sense,” Dustin said.
“This whole game doesn’t make any sense to me,” I exclaimed.
“It makes sense!” Mike said.
“Uh, no, what about the lost knight?” Dustin asked. He then looked at me, confused. “Isn’t there some club at the high school where they play D&D?”
I nodded. “Yeah, it’s called Hellfire. I’m not a part of it, though.”
“You should be.”
“And the proud princess?” Lucas said, bringing us back to the conversation at hand.
“And those weird flowers in the cave?” Will added.
“I don’t know, it’s–” Mike started.
Footsteps sounded as someone came down the stairs. That someone being Jonathan, who said, “Jeez, what’s that smell?”
“They’ve been farting,” I said, crossing my arms, a smile present on my face.
“No, that’s just Dustin,” Lucas chuckled.
I couldn’t help but laugh at Lucas’ comment and the fact that he was blowing raspberries while singing about Dustin farting. Tapping the top of his head, I laughed as I said that we needed to go.
The Byers boys and us Henderson kids all said our goodbyes before walking up the stairs and into the kitchen, where I heard Jonathan ask Will if he had a good time.
“Hey, kids,” Mrs. Wheeler said.
“Hey, Mrs. Wheeler,” Jonathan said.
“All four of you, wish your moms a merry Christmas for me, okay?” she asked.
“Sure thing,” I said. “Merry Christmas, Mrs. Wheeler.”
“Merry Christmas.”
Turning to walk to the front door, I put my arm around Dustin before I noticed a scent that was always one of my favorites. I smiled a little as we walked out to the car before I told Dustin that I’d be back in a moment. Grabbing the present I had brought just in case, Dustin gave me a knowing look that I tried to ignore.
I walked back in the house as Nancy was giving Jonathan a kiss on the cheek. Walking past her and into their living room, I peeked a look at Steve in his red Christmas sweater. I whispered his name, giving a come here motion with my hand. Once I felt we were in a somewhat private spot, I handed him the present I’d brought for him.
“For you,” I said. “It’s nothing, really. I just saw it and thought of you.”
He unwrapped it, eyes going a little glassy. “Uhm,” he said, turning his head away for a split moment before looking back at me. “I love it, Liv. Thank you.”
“It’s nothing,” I said. “At least now you’ll be able to check and see if you’re on time for school or not.”
We chuckled, both of us knowing that he was famous for being late to school almost every single day.
“I’ll see you after the break?” I asked.
“Yeah, for sure,” he said. He smiled before placing a kiss on my forehead like he always did.
When I got back in the car, I looked over at Dustin, who had a look on his face that said he knew something I didn’t. “What?”
“You like Steve,” he smiled.
“What?” I said. “No, I don’t.”
“Yes, you do. You just don’t want to admit it.”
I couldn’t think of anything else to say after that, so all I did was give a reply of “Shut up,” before starting the car and heading back home.
As I laid in bed that night, I thought about what Dustin said. I didn’t like Steve…
Did I?

GRISELDA
The show was good, but I was quite disappointed by the editing.
It was way too short! Why did they only do one season? Why didn't they show us Griselda's youth? Her first husband?
Not once they called her the black widow! She was also supposed to have many lovers, where are they?
Sofia is really great in the role of Griselda and Martin Rodriguez playing Rivi Ayala is excellent, so charismatic. The chemistry between them was crazy.
There isn't any mention of Pablo Escobar, beside the quote from the beginning. Why again?
They added fake story lines, I don't understand either. Why not showing how strategic Griselda was. She created one of the biggest cocaïne distribution ever, from New York to Miami to Colombia.
Griselda should have deserved at least two seasons.
However, the playlist was amazing as the costume. We felt like in the 80's.
Some quotes:
"- There's a lot of women who leave the man, not the life." (Episode 1)
"- You work for him? - We all work for him, mama. In one way or another." (Episode 1)
"- Where you going? - Home. (Griselda) - You fucking embarrassed me in front of my boss. - Come one, you did that on your own." (Griselda - Episode 1)
"- Why do I have to? - There are some things you gotta do even if you don't want to. (Carla) - But I hate playing catcher. - I know, but you can't just quit. (Carla) - You and Dad quit being married." (Episode 2)
"- Going to do something? Or no? - No. But I'm not saying you shouldn't." (Episode 2)
"- When a man like you offers me help, I assume he means something else." (Episode 3)
"- What bothers me is you had to do it. That this is what it takes for them to see you. You think I'll give all the power to some mouthy, smart bitch rather than these two idiots that I can control? I don't think so. The truth is you scare me more than they do." (Episode 3)
"- I think she's starting to like this shit. (Dario) - And that's intoxicating, my friend." (Arturo - Episode 4)
"- 'Course, then, you'll have to admit to my family that your Miami soldiers got fucked by a woman." (Griselda - Episode 4)
"- I don't understand I gave you what you wanted. - Listen, asshole. You gave me what was already mine." (Griselda - Episode 4)
"- I told you it'd all work out. (Griselda) - You always get your way." (Dario - Episode 4)
"- You know, I've been impressed not just by how industrious and clever you are, but also how ruthless. - In this case, it was necessary. (Griselda) - Yes. Sometimes it is." (Episode 4)
"- Of course, you must pay for fucking with us. So it doesn't happen again. Understood? Now, let's get down to business. (Episode 4 -Varón)
"- Don't know if I wanna fuck that bitch or kill her." (Episode 5)
"- But also, that's what happens when it's you against the world, baby. (Episode 5)
"- You go to kill the monster, right? The one that beat you up and put you down." (Episode 5)
"- All due respect, Griselda, my job has always been to help make you the most powerful person in Miami. If you kill one of your own on a theory, that's not power. That's fear. I would never betray you, Griselda. You know that." (Rivi) - Stop telling me what I know! That's exactly what makes me think you'd betray me." (Griselda - Episode 5)
"- I gave you money, I gave you a son, and now you're taking him away from me?!" (Griselda) - No. I'm saving him from you." (Dario - Episode 6)

SHADOW MONSTER - an Astos playlist
...for when you need to spend about an hour rotating that guy in your mind at top speed, or at least a little faster than chillout speed.
(YouTube playlist here) • (tracklist etc. below the cut)
Needed a playlist I could Think About Astos To while doing chores or whatever & it turned out I had the ammunition I needed to be kinda picky, so I'm sharing it here with all my comrades-in-Astos-scholarship, too! You know, in case you also need some music to Think About Astos To. Which seems possible-to-likely, I think.
I have only included tracks that are reasonably well balanced for Normal Listening (just please forgive me for the PS2 synth horns in "finish the promise" if you can find it in your heart). Also, if you use the YT playlist, Man Human is shorter than it should be, so listen to it twice if you want.
ACT I: IMPETUS

ACT II: THE PROCESS
Bleed it Out • Linkin Park half the words don't mean a thing / and I know that I won't be satisfied Man Human • Denki Groove for Devilman Crybaby Just One Yesterday • Fall Out Boy I want to teach you a lesson in the worst kind of way / still, I'd trade all my tomorrows…

( NOTES )
[1] - Specifically the anatomical term. Metaphorical uses of this word do seem to be a thing, but skew more towards meaning something like "courage" (think "guts" or "spine") as opposed to 心 (kokoro) on its own, which is used for something more like "essence", "spirit", "soul". Incidentally, I highly… HIGHLY recommend watching the MV for this one (Check the YT link before the readmore)! [2] - Eternal plug for vgperson, who has been my source for Kenshi Yonezu lyrics since something like 2010, and is the backbone of society. Check out the full translation there (ctrl+F the title!) to get a feel for this song's whole... vibe (which I'd describe as a very specific flavor of "fuck. god damn it. whatever; leave me alone," which of course is why it's here). [3] - There's a footnote on the Vocaloid Lyrics Wiki page for this song that conveys something interesting about the title; it says: "'Uminaoshi' isn’t a word that’s typically used to mean 'rebirth'; rather, it is a compound made up of a word meaning 'to give birth' and a word that carries the sense of doing something over to fix mistakes, because you messed it up the last time," which is fun, I think. [4] - This song's lyrics are poetic in a way that makes them difficult to interpret as-written, let alone translate in a way that makes literally any sense at all. The official MV does have English subtitles that are NOT auto-translated, though. Those are the most coherent piece of information I can give you (check the YT link before the readmore!) re: why the Future Diary OP is even in this playlist, except for this statement: it's about breaking free of a time loop that's being treated like a game in some way by The Entity In Charge Of It. (And also, it sounds like... you know, like the way that it sounds.)

top 10 songs of october
- late as usual, no one is even suprised anymore.
1. Monsters (feat. blackbear) by All Time Low, blackbear
I've been to a party at our friends with my bf. the boy picked us up with his car and this banger was playing one time. I've been listening to this for such a long time but I've somehow forgotten. my memories were brought back immediately and I felt so nostalgic. love this tune!
2. Without Me by Fame on Fire
love the original but is quite a bit too sad for me nowadays. I'm struggling listening to my old favs which are sadder, slower songs. they make me so depressed, that I've been stuck listening to only covers and 5sos for the last few days.
3. Popular Monster by Falling In Reverse
this is always coming back. fir is just an all tome fav for this friend circle and I'm enjoying it all the time.
4. body bag by Machine Gun Kelly, YUNGBLUD, The Used, Bert McCracken
this is a totally new song for me, I love it to bits. super catchy, and MGK is such a great singer no matter what kind of a person he really is.
5. Drugs by Falling In Reverse
fir again, yeah. actually, Ronnie is an ongoing joke in our friend group. there is a wife who - in her entire life - only had one steamy dream. and you guessed right, it wasn't with his husband, it was with Ronnie Radke. and we've never really gotten over this story lol
6. you broke me first by Our Last Night
this is one of those "too sad in it's oringial form but a huge fav of mine" songs. I have witnessed every step of this band as their ads have reached me ever since they were starting out as a random band. I've always been mad because they somehow annoyed me, but I really like this cover.
7. The Diary of Jane by Halocene
there's this other friend of mine, who LOVES halocene. not a day goes by without him mentioning them and listening to their music so I decided to pop one of their songs to my playlist and didn't regret it.
8. Toxicity by System Of A Down
this one I dug up from our childhood. I'm actually not seeing a therapist anyomre as I moved away but I'm still working on myself. with this move loads of my childhood memories surfaced and I'm trying everything to deal with them.
9. The Drug In Me Is Reimagined by Falling In Reverse
I'm quite suprised. so much falling in reverse, I cannot find the right words lol. love this reimagined version tho! and it didn't make the list but I've been listening to their Last Resort as well, it's bomb.
10. Obey by Bring Me The Horizon, YUNGBLUD
yungblud & BMTH together? it's pure heaven, let me tell you. I love every line of it!
