I feel I'm not especially mean to Irish-Americans by the standards of my fellow Irish malcontents. If anything, I'm usually the one person being booed at for saying, hey, a lot of them are the descendants of people who had to flee famine and poverty and leave their entire family behind and never see them again, be nice. Also, Irish-American culture exists in its own right and they don't need our permission to identify with being Irish or to have an Irish culture that's diverged from ours.

HOWEVER, I am having my period and I just yesterday saw someone refer to Hozier as a tall fey prince from the woods of Ireland, and I'm in no mood for some yank making jokes about how he's so Irish for hating the Brits when he doesn't even know we spell favourite with a u too.
