Astro Notes : Short N Sweet <3 Neptune's Revenge

Neptune 1st House - Popular energy. Very well known for their beautiful, majestic energy. Could have a lot of haters but admirers at the same time. Energetically sensitive to alot of others emotions. Sometimes, it can be a lil confusing holding so much power. Because their energy can be mixed up with someone elses if they don't know how to tell the difference. They usually have a strong sense of self, its just other peoples opinions can get in away of that if they arent careful.

Neptune 2nd House - Could use some help on the financial train. They're organic to the way they use their money. I mean, they could be super horrendous spender, spending each and every dime on any and everything. While still some how always having more in their wallet. Or they could be pretty good at saving and are a little bit of a cheapskate.

Neptune 3rd House - Whimsical voices. Poetic writers. Creative thinkers. Very talented when it comes to the hands as well. Could be excellent drawers & painters. Neptune in the 3rd has an ability to travel to very interesting places that aren't too far at home. They may go on lil adventures here and there. But its always a treat. Its kinda strange how well they can be at finding good eats as well with all the travel they do. Could work abroad or go to college somewhere out of their comfort zone a lil.

Neptune 4th House - Has a lot of secrets when it comes to the inner child. Very free, sweet loving children. Can open a door to different realms like we're in Narnia or something. Angelic creatures who enjoy alone time near their favorite place. If they ever share that special place with you consider yourself lucky. They normally keep the things they cherish hidden for a long time.

Neptune in the 5th House - Artists who seek deep into the art and become it. Very creative & a one of a kind with the way they carry the emotion in what it is they do. Can have you thinking hard on what it is they are trying to convey, they are a master at making complexities more harder to figure out. Just be there in the audience and watch the show. You'll never leave the same again.

Neptune in the 6th House - Fun loving pet owners, they go hard for the planet and the creatures that come from it. Real advocates for change and don't take too kindly to insensitive people. Could need to sharpen their boundaries a little more with people. Also, are incredible writers and should tap into this side a bit more. You might end up surprised with what talents you have that could make you some money, or could be a really cool job.

Neptune in the 7th House - Romance is the thing that just keeps on given to these individuals. May need to put the rose colored glasses down. that man might not be for you, love. Don't forget to put more time into your own needs versus the needs of someone else. Your compassionate energy may run dry if you're not using that waterfall of emotion for yourself. People are drawn to 7th house neptunes alot more than you think. They are capable of seeing thru the veil, you just don't notice.

Neptune in the 8th House - Psychologically understands the reasons on why the universe is the way that it is and why the people in it behave the way that we do. Could be honest about a lot of things, dishonest about what they know. The world doesn't need to know everything, which is why the divine gifted them with certain antidotes. Only they can use this so bring healing to a certain nation (or individual) but not everyone can find this secret the way they can. This is normally given to them by spirit guides, ancestors, or thru drreams.

Neptune in the 9th - Impracticality is almost their birth right. They see things in a way that doesnt make sense at all but to them it means something. What I mean is that these people see the world bigger than what they people tell them. They could have big drams and not understand why they have them, but God put them their for a reason. So you can figure them out. You may want to travel and study abroad, or just move somewhere different and don't know how. Thats where all the magic happens, finding out and taking the risk. The sagittarian way.

Neptune in the 10th - Majestic auras. The highlight of the moment. The star. The siren. The energy healer. Do I keep going? Very special creatures who touched this earth to make their dreams come true, even if they have to figure it out themselves. Empathetic to the people around them and are big on helping out with anything whenever they can. The Queens & Kings of the law of attraction. Can attract what they want if they just believe it in it more.

Neptune in the 11th House - Community leaders. Ancients who know they way to what the true reality is meant to be like. Literally can change the world with the way they move, think, and go around helping others. Sweet and lovely people to be around. Needs healing in their own friend groups. Can be a little out there, but thats why people love them.

Neptune in the 12th House - Practical minds in a world that tells them their crazy. No they arent crazy, they just have multiple psychic gifts. And these gifts have a way in showing them things people aren't usually equipped with handling. They need more time alone and in nature to keep themselves grounded. Other wise, they will go crazy from the world telling them that their crazy... When really they know a little more than what they led on. The imagination is a fun place, but also a place where the most hidden becomes entirely to open. Seers of the daylight & the night.

Doesn’t pry too much when you bring up your past. If you want to tell him you will and he’s content with that.

He finds you so incredibly intoxicating. He can’t believe that someone would ever treat you badly. He would fight tooth and nail to make sure you’re always happy.

Literally so in love with your more childlike/ whimsical view of the world now that you two are together. Your personality definitely changed for the better once you met him and realized that being safe should be a prerequisite in a relationship.

Minho:

Doesn’t ask about your past relationship much. Mostly relies on you telling him about it when you feel comfortable enough.

Absolutely at your service!!! If you’re having particularly unpleasant or difficult feelings or are in your own head he’s at your beck and call. Whether that’s cooking for you, feeding you (which you won’t admit you like) or even leaving you alone for a bit.

The babies (his cats) are by your side 24/7 to ground you and get you out of your head because “ they wouldn’t want their mom to be sad.”

Changbin:

Cannot fathom the idea of someone hurting you in any way whatsoever without wanting to beat them up.

Unlike Minho, Changbin will not leave you alone if you’re having a particularly bad day. He thinks you’re so precious so he will never leave your side even in a particularly bad situation.

Binnie gives the best cuddles!!!! I am 100% convinced. Cuddling is a must! It’s like free therapy. (He, himself is free therapy but wbk) his hugs and cuddles make you forget about what’s going on in your head bc binnie’s cuddles make everything better.

Hyunjin:

He’s appalled that someone could treat another human with disrespect and violence let alone you!

He’s your number one fan in everything you do. Celebrates your small wins just as grandly as the big ones. Oh you ate breakfast today. Suddenly your name and “I’m so proud of you” is all he knows how to say.

Paints with you. Yk when you put the canvases parallel to each other and paint something for the other person. Yeah you guys do that all the time as a grounding technique but also just as a way to show love to one another.

Jisung:

He’s so good at reading body language!!!!!! He is absolutely crushed when things like holding your hand or stretching his hand out to touch your cheek make you flinch, not because he’s mad or angry at you but rather at the person who ever dared to treat you this way.

Wdym personal space? Hannie’s never heard of it. He’s so good at getting you out of you head. He knows what triggers you and sometimes know when something will trigger you before you do.

He’s so attentive bc why wouldn’t he be when he has you to look after. This boy loves you so much and he shows it every day.

Felix:

Bakes for you!!!!!! Sometimes you two bake together but he usually does it in advance to you telling him you need a little extra love today.

So in love with you. Tries to show you the beauty that you are because you haven’t felt beautiful till you met him. “Oh baby you look even more gorgeous than you did yesterday, I didn’t even know that was possible.”

You remind him of sunshine and he reminds you of the sun. Clearly neither of you can exist without the other.

Seungmin:

He is super playful and witty naturally but he tones down the more mocking side for your particularly hard days. He loves you in ways that you didn’t know you could be loved.

On regular days though you two share a similar sense of humor. He loves that about you. Never lets it go too far though.

Absolutely a sucker for you. The boys tease him for being soft for you but he doesn’t care. You’re his baby and he doesn’t care who sees that.

Jeongin:

This boy is so whipped for you. He always listens to you even if what you have to say is something he has no idea about. It feels so amazing to have someone listen to you. To truly listen. He makes it look easy even though listening and not interrupting is quite hard.

He’s not a big fan of skinship but your hands are always within his and he loves it. He’s genuinely so feral for it but you don’t need to know that.

He’ll make sure to show you how someone treats someone they love every day. He’s so attentive and that makes going to him whether it’s with a problem or just to talk so easy because you know there’s no judgment from him.

Something Unexpected - Lucifer Headcanons

This is mostly me simping for the short, awkward duck-loving lil guy, and also experimenting with writing for his character.

🎪 When you met Lucifer, you were honestly shell-shocked. He was so... whimsical, and captivating, maybe a bit awkward, and with his ringleader getup, it made him look equally as silly as he seemed. He just... wasn't whom you were expecting at all.

🎪 "Charlie... That's your dad!?"

🎪 "Well... Yeah? Why do you sound so surprised?"

🎪 "Look at him!" He didn't seem anything like the Lucifer you'd heard stories of from your parents, who tried to scare you away from debauchery and sin with their over-exaggerated tales from their biblical teachings.

🎪 They didn't exactly pay off, clearly.

🎪 But this? This was absolutely not who you thought you had to protect Charlie from.

🎪 You were the 'mom' of the Hazbin Crew, always looking out for everyone, and earning yourself a soft, irreplaceable spot in their hearts. And you clearly had a soft spot for Charlie, and that set off many initial alarm bells for Lucifer.

🎪 He didn't want to have another Alastor on his hands.

🎪 Lucifer cornered you about this, of course, and you were still grappling with the fact that he wasn't how you thought he was going to be at all.

🎪 And you turned out to be just as unexpected...

🎪 “I’m just worried about her… She has such a big heart, and I just don’t want her to get hurt. I should know what it’s like to be taken advantage of by people I put my trust and love into."

🎪 Though he is slightly curious about that, he decides that perhaps it'd be nice to have someone checking up on Charlie from time to time, and there is no way he's encouraging Alastor's presence anywhere near her.

🎪 You also found his love and overprotectiveness for his daughter quite endearing, although it was insufferable to watch them be so awkward around each other in the beginning.

🎪 So, you agreed to watch over Charlie for Lucifer, making sure to encourage her dreams in his stead. For Charlie's happiness, and because, well, why would you say no? You were already looking after her before.

🎪 As soon as Lucifer leaves, Charlie is bounding up to you with a wide smile, taking your hands in hers and bouncing up and down on the carpeted floors, so hard she's making indents with her hooves.

🎪 "Oh, isn't it great!? He believes in me! Me! I thought that after, well everything that happened with Mom, that he'd..." her eyes grow sullen as the mention of her mother sours her mood, and you brush a hand against her cheek with a gentle, reassuring smile.

🎪 "I have a feeling he always has, Charlie. He just never knew how to say it. And sometimes, when a parent sees themselves in their own children, it... Terrifies them." You turn to an apple-paned window with a melancholic gaze.

🎪 "He's just trying his hardest for you because he doesn't want to see you fall like he did. You can't fall farther than Hell, but if you try..." you trail off, and your implication held heavy in the air.

🎪 "But he loves you, and I know that his pride for you knows no bounds, and nor does his worry, Charlie." The demoness brightens at your words, practically tearing up as she grips your midsection in a hug. "Thank you," she whispers, and you ruffle her pale blonde hair with a fond smile.

🎪 Little did you know, Lucifer had been silently stalking watching the both of you from afar, and he leaves that evening with a heavy weight lifted from his shoulders.

🎪 As he continues to visit the hotel, he checks in with you for a moment upon the establishment's progress, Charlie, and casual conversation in general.

🎪 As more time passes, and Lucifer makes more and more frequent visits to the hotel - much to Alastor’s chagrin - after spending some precious time in his daughter's company, he'll ask around for your whereabouts.

🎪 You'll both naturally fall into more casual conversation outside of the hotel's progress, and you soon realize that there was more beneath the surface of Hell's estranged ruler.

🎪 Lucifer was captivating, alluring in every form of the word. A creative, inspiring soul who once held dreams and aspirations, and now, the fire that once burned within him was passed onto his daughter.

🎪 And you could see his desperation to keep that flame inside of Charlie alight.

🎪 Lucifer slowly grows fond of your company, giving you little sculptures of ducks, and spending near hours raving about his little creations with you.

🎪 In a haze of his sleep-deprived subconscious, he even made a little duckie for you, complete with all of your defining features that he found the most attractive prominent.

🎪 It ended up being his personal comfort/therapy duck until you found it, and putting together the resemblance, teased him about it slightly, to which he kept stubbornly denying it.

🎪 "Okay, but you have to admit, it's clear where you got your inspiration from," you held the duckie up to your face, noting just how precise Lucifer was when making it. Huh, he really hit the mark with this one.

🎪 The king of Hell turned on his heel, his jacket and hat discarded to the side, and leaving him in his striped circus-patterned dress shirt and ivory slacks.

🎪 "I don't know what you're talking about," Lucifer bent over his desk, trying to look like he was actually doing something, but his heart and mind were going a mile a minute. Damn his adorable hyperfixations!

🎪 "Maybe it was just coincidence! I don't know, sometimes I get inspired by things that I..." he glanced at you as you raised an eyebrow at him, and the small red circles plastered against his moonlight-stricken skin glowed a bright red.

🎪 "J-Just coincidence. Uh-huh, that's right..." he wasn't sure whether he was trying to convince you, or himself with that one.

🎪 Oh, yeah, you totally bought that bullshit.

🎪 "Well, for what it's worth, you did a pretty good job. This is your best one, yet!" You beam at him and tuck the small duck figure under your arm.

🎪 "So... can I keep it? Pretty please?"

🎪 Lucifer shoves some papers and blueprints off of his desk, completely focused on his work instead of how beautiful your smile was. "No."

🎪 After that, he creates a little duck of himself to keep beside the one in your likeness upon his desk whenever you aren't around. He inches them closer together every now and then or whenever he gets nervous or jittery.

🎪 Slowly but surely, Lucifer began to fall. And he is terrified of it. He's starting to yearn for your company, visit the hotel simply to seek you out, and this familiar thudding feeling is giving him a headache that can't be soothed by the fizzling warmth of alcohol.

🎪 Charlie begins to notice her father's strange behavior, and how it happens particularly around you...

🎪 Of course, the eccentric princess puts it all together, and she tries to keep it a secret, she really does, but the fact that her dad could actually be falling in love with one of her closest friends, and that he might finally be able to move on from her mother makes her heart overflow with a plethora of emotions.

🎪 The poor girl ends up spilling the details of your rom-com of a love life to Vaggie while hugging a pillow, crying joyful tears as her girlfriend chuckles and simply kisses her forehead with a small smile.

🎪 "Don't worry, hon. I'm sure it'll all be fine in the end. Just sleep it off, okay? And don't, I mean DON'T get involved in their love life, alright? Your dad needs some time to figure this out on his own."

🎪 "But I really want to help them! I know she likes him back; I just know it! And besides, he'll never confess on his own-!"

🎪 "It'll all be solved later, don't worry, Charlie. Besides, we can't just drop everything for this, can we? The hotel still needs our help,"

🎪 "Their love needs our help," Vaggie raised an expectant eyebrow, and Charlie receded with a pout. "But I guess it could wait..."

🎪 "Attagirl."

🎪 Meanwhile, as you toss and turn in your own bed, a deep fondness for the king that ran deeper than you would like to admit blossomed in your heart and was beginning to see the first rays of radiant sunlight that just so happened to be your unconditional adoration for the king of Hell.

🎪 Lucifer could make you laugh, smile, and gasp with a wonderment that you hadn't ever felt before, and your heart began to ache for more. More of his presence, and his whimsical, goofy nature that time had taught you to relish and look forward to.

🎪 All you could do was sleep, close your eyes and hope that these feelings would stamp themselves out soon.

🎪 But all of that proved to be futile as you woke with a start in the middle of the night, the hazy visions of clipped wings, magnificent and radiant in all their seldom glory, remained fresh in your mind.

🎪 The glow of a shiny red apple faded from your vision, as you clenched your arms and buried your face into your pillow.

🎪 You were in for a long night...

Introducing Trilogy

Yesterday I released Trilogy, a new tabletop RPG crafted to support you in having grand adventures in worlds of your own making.

There are several reasons I started writing Trilogy, but the biggest one is that I ran a Dungeon World podcast called Crudely Drawn Swords for seven years and that was a lot of time to think about what we were playing. To a degree Trilogy is the game I wish that we could have had to run the podcast.

Starting from the question "what would a purely PbtA game for epic fantasy look like?" I started thinking more widely - what do I want from a fantasy game? And the truth is that I want a game that supports the structure of characters and their interactions but doesn't tie itself to a specific setting.

Trilogy begins with The Appendices - conventionally in epic fantasy these are at the end and document information about the wider world that might not have made it into the story, but here it is where you sit down as a group and decide what tone you want your game to have, and your world looks like. What kind of place is it? What magic is there? What is religion like? What are the major cultures where the story begins? How would it feel to be in this world? Trilogy doesn't tell you any of these things, it gives you the tools to think through how you want your world to look.

This creates a secondary challenge - without knowing what the world looks like, how could I design character classes for this type of game? Trilogy answers this by going back to the fundamentals - instead of a conventional character class, the playbooks in Trilogy represent a narrative arc. Some of them, like The Fighter, The Priest, or The Magus, look like familiar classes. Others, such as The Volunteer, The Mentor, The Weapon, or The Defeated, are a little different. Character arcs have a set of turning points, story beats that allow you to advance along your arc after you have collected a certain amount of experience. Some are positive and others negative, you choose which ones you want to hit and when, but every character's story has its highs and lows and to get the most from the game you need to lean into both. A character can pass through three arcs as they grow and change, like the three volumes of a trilogy.

The aim of the game is to create a slower but satisfying sense of progression - instead of hit points characters take Stress and Harm like in other Powered by the Apocalypse games that can have both mechanical and narrative effects. That makes combat feel dangerous, but the game also offers more ways to solve problems without getting into combat - I have played games where the player characters never got into a fight, instead resolving confrontations through an ingenious selection of alternative strategies including "lying" and "vomiting magic ink all over the floor." I'm genuinely enthusiastic about this game - I think I would be as excited about it if somebody else had written it. It leans hard into the joy of discovery and the excitement of adventure - you can play it as spooky and whimsical or gritty and hard-edged and anywhere in between.

Because I was writing it I even got to make most of the examples of play roll out as the story of someone's game, something I always appreciate when I read it. It also contains every technique I use as a GM in the hope that even before people get the chance to play it (heaven forbid any TTRPG afficionado have books we haven't got around to playing yet!) people who read it will still be able to use that advice in their other games. RWBY Evermorrow Ep.7 Director's Commentary (or something)

The newscast segment was a late addition, we decided it was best to move a scene to a later episode for a better sense of narrative. I even already animated that whole scene so we don't need to worry about it!

We were gonna use Lisa Lavender here, but decided it was better to use Cyril due to availability of existing cast members as the scene was kind of last minute. We see it as Cyril being the guy in the studio, and Lisa being the reporter in the field.

Khaki's prison number is funny if you can decipher it.

Originally this episode was a big ol scene of RWBYCRDL recounting the mission to Oz and Glynda, then the punishments being dished out, but I was having such a dull time writing it that we decided it was best to cut the recap of the immediate previous episode and hope the teams' reactions did the work. I think it was for the best, a glorified recap episode seems like it would've been a waste of production; if it wasn't fun to write it wouldn't have been fun to watch.

It was a good time to bring in Glynda as she's always been Beacon's voice of reason around Oz's more whimsical tendencies. She's to-the-point and will make no excuses, which sells the teams being reprimanded more. Plus the added questioning of what exactly Ozpin is saying to Cardin offscreen is an interesting question in the viewer's mind.

(Also our Ozpin VA was kinda unavailable but for a very good reason lol)

Let's talk Dove. You've probably noticed he's very much the reasonable one on EM CRDL at this point, which is very intentional as going in I wanted to make them more interesting than Cardin and the Cardins. CRWBY once said Dove was the most skilled of CRDL, which is an interesting angle, and Doves are a symbol of peace which inspired me to make him the """nicer""" one, albeit a bit embittered by his lot in life. This episode has a montage of the moments in ep5-6 that really lay it all out that he's a little better than the others on his team, which is why Ruby vouched for him.

There was going to be a decent focus on family in this episode, but eventually we whittled it down to just Russel's and Dove's. Being like "oh and here's a character's parent being funny and mad" worked twice, but three to eight times might have gotten old lmao

Why did I pick Bertilak for Russel's guardian? Green. Mohawk. Moody. Not a big Faunus fan.

Okay so that's only part of it. Russel has been consistently portrayed as a bit of a doormat in EM, following Cardin's orders or deferring to the next biggest fish if he's not around. His actions around Bertilak imply that the latter is the source of all that behaviour.

Dove offers Ruby an "Olive Branch". I don't know if I can get more unsubtle than this.

Don't ship them they literally feel nothing about each other. That's canon.

Why did I pick Shopkeep for Dove's grandpa? Closed eyes, and Shopkeep is everywhere. That's literally the joke.

Pyke Rite from The Grimm Campaign.

There were a few characters I really wanted to get involved sooner. Can you believe it took us till Ep7 for Ren or Nora to say anything? It felt good to have all of JNPR and OP(A)L fully animated in the same scene, and was fun to set up dynamics like Oscar being a fanboy, Alyx being a little shit and the two teams generally getting along.

In comparison to 6 this episode was a lot calmer and a lot more talk-y, but hopefully we managed to make it fun. The animators and VAs did amazing as always (the former has basically eclipsed my efforts at this point), and I'm looking forward to ep8 very much! Bigger and better!

do you know what to do with all these molted cicada nymph shells

Sure, they're not dead, but they still give off the same vibe to me. You know? The empty casings of a spent thing? Dust gathering in the recesses where something used to be? Sure, they're not dead, but they still set off my Necroentomophobia. Fear of dead bugs! Did you know that? Did you know people could be scared of dead bugs? Whatever. It's not the same as being scared of a bug, sure. But I can be scared of a lot of bugs. Sure, little things, like the humble lady bug- not scary. Butterflies, scant as they are, are only off-putting to me. The beautiful moth? Well, I love it, but I don't want to hurt it. It's whimsical, fat body makes me nervous. I don't want to squish it by accident! Because then it would be a dead bug.

And that's worse. It's like, not precisely a direct fear of a dead bug. It won't leap at me in a defiant rage, or be waiting for me around the scary corner. It's more like a shortcut to existential dread. It's a combination of 'ew!' and 'I am going to die one day' and more importantly, if a bug is dead, something has killed it. And you never know if that something is still lurking around. Just kidding. Do you know what a cicada shell is made of? That's right. It's the happy chitin! I don't have an issue with chitin. We're not chitinous beasts, but we have the enzymes to break them down. Humans, that is. This isn't a science fiction piece. This is my blog. I've always thought chitin was interesting though- it's a natural armor made for little guys ostensibly. Little guys in the sense, that it is for bugs only. Well, crabs have chitin, and they can get pretty big- The spider crab can grow over 300 feet in diameter. Just kidding, it can't do that. It's pretty big though. At this point, you'd think: 'Okay- crab reference, and a direct link to the enzymes to break down chitin. Do we eat them? Should we eat the Cicada shells?' Well, I'm not going to. That sounds kind of scary to me. Would you? Would you eat the shell of a thing? I can't imagine it tastes good. I'm eating potato chips right now. They're yummy, and crunchy, and in many ways- the opposite of the humble cicada's false corpse. A lying bug. A lying, cheating, swarming thing. A bug we don't like. A bug we have to deal with. Don't we have to deal with everything? Would it be easier to show less mercy to the little things? It wouldn't, and it would be mean. And that's worse. Anyway, to answer your question, you turn them into mulch, apparently. Or bury them in a hole. Through my research, those were the only two real options we have. There's also 'add them to compost.' So that's three, you have three options. Do you want my opinion? No? Moving on then. There's also a fourth option- a telling one, at that. A sort of 'secret option' lots of people choose. 'Let them decompose on your lawn.' Right? Right, the easy one? Might as well call it 'do nothing.' Doing nothing is always a choice, sure, but when you give me the choice to 'do nothing' in a game, or choose your own adventure, it always seems like a lazy choice on the developer's part. And sure, from your real life perspective, it's probably the easiest. But from a game design perspective? You have to account for the player sitting and watching. What happens if I don't intervene? What happens if I let it continue? Well, in the case of the empty cicada, they stink apparently. I've never noticed it, and we have cicadas here- but I've been lucky enough to never be out in or see a swarm. A predecessor of mine once recalled a story in which the swarm was so bad, you couldn't walk outside without crushing them on the sidewalks "Ew," is what I thought. Maybe they only smell if there's hundreds of them. Thousands? No, probably just hundreds. Not saying they wouldn't smell more if there were lots, I'm saying they probably start being noticeable at around a hundred. Nothing wrong with that. Not sure what the smell is, though. Do you? You should put them in a hole.

He’ll even order parts for his creations from overseas, no matter the price tag, to give you the perfect gift.

—- Adding onto how crafty he is, you never have to worry about breaking anything because Will is always happy to fix it for you and he always does so, effortlessly. He’s tactile and amazing with his hands.

—- He knocked down a wall in his house between his office and guest bedroom, renovated the room, painted the walls your favorite colors and furnished it with all your favourite things including a wall hung TV, neon lights, a pink desktop and plants. Just so you can have your own space when you’re at his house. He wants you to feel like his home is yours too.

—- He loves going to IKEA with you, it’s like a playground for him to find things to build for you and your room. When you get Hotdogs in the food court with him later and get mustard on your face, he’ll grab you by the chin and lick the sauce off. Anytime you get food on your face, he does this. Why wipe it off when he can just clean it off you?

—- Will’s intelligence is unlike anyone you’ve met before, but when he’s not using his head, he’s a bit of a himbo, giving off strong Kenergy. He might know how to solve enigmatic riddles quickly and build houses from scratch but he’s clueless when it comes to most general things. He’ll always regard you as the smarter one in the relationship. In his mind you’re everything and he’s just Will. He adores you that much.

—- He has a tattoo of your name and a blue butterfly next to it on his hip bone. This man is whipped. Gone and lost in your love. He’s considering getting your initials tattooed behind his ear.

—-  Will’s independent by nature but gosh, he is one needy motherfucker, but in the most adorable way. He’s coming with you to run errands to the beauty store, late night Target trips or waiting in the corner of the salon while you get your nails done. And he’s always paying, he never lets your credit card touch the reader.

—- Will can listen to you talk for hours about your life and yourself. He finds everything about you whimsical, enchanting and seductive. Even if you’re babbling about delusions and made up scenarios, he’ll react with big emotions like it’s happening right in the moment just because he loves you that much.

—- Will collects records that you love listening to. He says, “The record is always better than streaming it.”

—- Will use to only listen to symphonies and classical music before you came into his life. Now, he listens to everything you listen to. He’s fallen in love with Neo-soul and R&B and refuses to listen to anything else.

—- His favorite song is “Stay Ready (What A Life) by Jhene Aiko and forever dedicates that tune to you. Whenever the song plays, he always sings to you, “They say the truth ain't pretty. But comin’ out that pretty mouth the truth is fitting. Cuz you ain't never talkin loud and you know plenty. Yea you know what I'm talkin bout, cuz you just get me, Yea you so pretty”, And he means every word of it. That song was written just for you, he believes.

—- Even though you and Will are just dating and don’t have kids, he always refers to you as “His wife” or “Mother of my children”

—- Will’s favorite part of being intimate with you is undressing you. There’s something about seeing you come undone only and all for him, that makes him want to be closer to you, underneath your skin even.

—- Will love’s quickies and to give you a quick orgasm in the middle of the day. But there’s nothing he loves more than giving you a sensual, candle lit, slow jam’s experience. i tend to lead to games or apps that give me nostalgia. this includes wattpad, tumblr, moviestarplanet, purple place (they got in the app store 🫶🏾) , roblox, or episode.

when it comes to going to the grocery store, mall, or coffee shop. i’ll go alone especially because i spend my time in my room. when the noise is too much, i’ll put my shows or music on. however, i try to go on a movie date with my friend atleast once or twice a month.

i’m a very optimistic person but i’m also very sensitive. when i encounter negative people or situations, i tend to get discouraged easily. i solve that by watching “hopecore” or “humans are cute” videos on tiktok. i always try not to feed into my sadness by looking at videos about being mistreated or an ex. i search for videos that talk about having a big heart is a gift. how the right one will come to me. honestly for any situation you’re in.

VERY RAMBLY BUT I think rose and martha are like the inverse of one another in terms of narrative, in that they both meet a doctor who is deeply deeply hurt, but the doctor interacts with them about it so differently, because of where they're at with that hurt, and the doctor is like "hey, I'm suave and vulnerable beneath the surface, which is quite attractive, want to travel in space and time in my whimsical timeship?" and they both go "oh heck yes!" and then it's like splintered glass from that point on, like martha lives in a funhouse mirror of rose's story -- up until she makes it her own of course and she does call the doctor out on it relatively early on, although rose continues to have that haunting effect

so rose has this bubble created around her that is perfect and unchangeable almost, in which nothing bad can ever happen (except for all the times it does but huuush, we'll be together forever forrealsies don't look at that big ol hurricane hurtling our way), which then inevitably bursts, but is always there-as-memory, because rose becomes something of an impossible ideal to some extent

and martha isn't protected at all, and has all the badness spilling out on her because the doctor is unable to contain any of it (and maybe is relieved to finally give up on being strong), and subsequently all of the promise of wonder has an air of sourness to it, and the doctor will always feel incredibly guilty about how it all ended

but crucially there's a lot they have in common, that is quite different to, say, donna (who is woven in in her own, interesting, way) -- they both become attracted to this powerful, interesting, and suuuper traumatised being, they're both taken along on a journey of promised wonders, they're both incredibly reliable to the point that the narrative is retroactively fitted around how much the doctor's belief-systems revolve around belief in their companions, with many others from the past given their dues (starting with sarah-jane), and they both do see wonders beyond their comprehension (and so does donna, but again, there's something a bit different there to poke at in another post...),

except where for rose this wonder helps her break out of the path that was set down for her and become who she always had the potential to be in a way that is mostly framed as a positive (although with some -- I think -- under-analysed caveats...) and she will be forever thankful for the doctor arriving in her life, martha's is more like an awe that the universe is so hostile and so lonely and so heartbreaking, and so she needs to become more resilient and more ready to make choices that are terrible (from travelling the broken world for a year to the osterhagen key....), and so there's another story about someone who becomes strong and tough (just like rose) but it's because the doctor wasn't really able to be there for her, and while I don't think the show (from memory) ever has her totally regretting the doctor dropping into her life, there for sure is some solemnity to how her story ends, a bit of a dampener in comparison (even tbh in comparison to donna, who yeah, gets her memory taken, but is suggested -- now confirmed perhaps? -- to get more of her life in order/feel more self-confident, also partially because of that subliminal influence of her time with the doctor)

and this isn't to say that it's all-bad for martha! her working for UNIT and Torchwood has a lot of very interesting facets to it, and she is fulfilling her potential to be this impressive, capable person, but the ways all of this was built up to is so heartrending

rose coming in and "saving" the doctor, except it was a bit of a lie, because the second she wasn't there they crashed even harder than before, and martha coming in with the idea that she could save the doctor and walking away when realising what it was doing to her life, and both rose and martha irrevocably changed to the point that the person pre-doctor is barely recognisable in them anymore, both take on the doctor's self-sacrificial traits...

and also the idea that rose gets the fantasy, but it's the fantasy a-bit-to-the-left (funhouse again) because there's always something a bit disconcerting about the lengths the doctor goes to to maintain the bubble, to the point of offering up the alternate-him/tentoo so that she can still have it, even though the actual physical doctor that shared it with her isn't actually there! and martha gets the glimpse of the fantasy, and then has to come to terms with the fact that she's not the person it's "for" and reassess her relationship to the idea of a fantasy in the first place (it helps that martha is an incredibly practical, pragmatic person, but it's still so... ouch)

I don't think it was intentional, but this also fascinating from the perspective of rose as a white woman and martha as a black woman -- who is the fantasy for, to the extent that strange and universe-breaking events go into maintaining it, and who has to be practical and pragmatic and self-reliant?

and also, it's got more tragedy in both cases -- rose as a spectre/haunter of the narrative is always a little bit intangible when she's looked back on (even though in the story she's in she's incredibly real and well-rounded, every time I go back to s1 I am struck by how grounded she is in reality), and I think that's something interesting in terms of her mother's warning in s2, how if she travels with the doctor "forever" she'll become something else, something not her

and martha's mother warns her as well, although she's not completely sure of what, and in contrast to rose this warning comes into very painful fruition, harming her entire family (except, maybe her brother? I wonder if there's anything written about that), but where rose is so omnipresent, martha tries several times to take herself out

(also something about both of their mothers being their anchor-points)

there's something there that's at the centre of both rose's and martha's arcs:

is the change they're going through because of the doctor... good? good for them? good for their families? good as in they're becoming better people than before? good for the world they inhabit? is it good for the person they used to be? did they become better than that person? can they ever truly deal with or even begin to comprehend how these events made them who they are? can they even connect who they are now to who they were then? was this good?

they both become these larger-than-life people, somewhat without noticing on both parts (but the narrative does notice), one of them a ghost, and the other a soldier -- one of them an increasingly intangible, ever-present idea, and the other someone who has to fight every step of the way

it's just a bunch of things I've had going through my head that I can't quite formulate in coherent essay-like sentences, but for sure it's there

Response to “The Magic Trick You Didn’t See” / The Coffee Theory

I, like many people in the Good Omens fandom, have already read the big essay “The Magic Trick You Didn’t see” –which blows up the coffee theory that’s been circulating on my twitter page to greater heights and big claims. I have some thoughts.

First of all: I think that the original essay has a few details wrong, essentially because it falls into a kind of utilitarian perspective with the whole magic show metaphor. The thing is –sometimes details which are left hanging, or themes which are shown to be important, don’t always tie up somewhere. Sometimes they’re there because they’re interesting, or poking at intrigue –trying to get you to notice and note down for later, rather than evidence of one ultimate solution that’ll be revealed as a holistic great plot. Also “I didn’t think the writing was good in this moment” isn’t very convincing to me, I’m sorry.

But –I do think that they were onto something. I hesitate to make any grand claims, like “Maggie isn’t real,” or “The Metatron is editing the book of life,” because -to be honest- I don’t trust myself to put my name to something as big as that, and I don’t want to erase my favourite thing about Good Omens: its whimsicality. But I will say that there are themes and notable elements which I think will be important later and hint at some larger fuckery (if you’ll excuse the OFMD reference) going on, so consider this a kind of rejigging of the theory to be a more thematic approach that lays out things I just thought were interesting under an more open-ended (or flip-floppy, depending on how you take it) idea:

Something was going on this season which will be revealed as a Heavenly plot to split Aziraphale and Crowley up by the end. It worked. And the person to reveal the greater plot will be Muriel.

I’ll write down first of all a list of things that have been introduced to the world of Good Omens which I think are important, and highlight why one of them sticks out to me. Then I’ll work on a thematic basis of what things are shown to be worth narrative focus/presuppose S3. The first two themes are very much commentary drawing on the essay I’m responding to, and the second two are more my own ideas –certainly the fourth.

Okay, so: there are introductions to the Good Omens-verse which are clearly there to expand our world for later use. I don’t know if all of these things will come up again, but by the end of this season we know:

There are Nazi (and possibly more) zombies running around London.

There is a gun in Aziraphale’s bookshop -in case it’s needed. 

Heaven is interested in keeping things quiet, and they will fiddle with memories to do so. Erased memories can be “stored” in things/creatures.

There is a thing called “The Book of Life” that if you’re written out of, you NEVER EXISTED. (It can be edited, too, presumably.)

Crowley is possibly the most powerful being in the show. “Half a tiny miracle” ends up being enough to resurrect someone 25 times over, and his attempt to stay calm after a little tiff with aziraphale results in draining the street of electricity. Also he created the entire universe. (coming back to amend this with the fact Neil said he got going just "that tiny corner of space" -but I still feel there is significant evidence to say he is very powerful:) )

I lay these out because they’re just good to have noted down, really, and because they’re definitely GOING to be important. ALSO because the last one makes sense for the greater aim to be breaking up the ineffable husbands. Emphasis on Crowley’s power –and for their shared power– sets up a REAL threat for what we KNOW will be the basis of s2: The Second Coming. If you’re Heaven, and you want the second attempt at an apocalypse to be successful, you’d be stupid to let the two celestial beings who were meddling in the whole averted-apocalypse ordeal last time to just be AROUND for it. Especially when one has the ability to stop time!!! You’ve GOT to break them up. 

Theme 1: Investigation (Muriel!)

Investigation is a fun little theme in s2: Aziraphale goes full detective mode. He loves the clues, he’s in his little trilby investigating. All the marketing was very investigative and invites the audience to pay close attention. And there are SO many little easter eggs. From The Colour of Magic appearing to Gabriel reading the first lines of Good Omens –even as small as a Terry Prattchet impersonator speaking over the tannoy in Hell, or the film in The Resurrectionist being chosen specifically to play because there’s a scene where Jimmy Stewart talks to a fly. 

So! Investigation is fun! It’s important. And my favourite part of the essay I’m responding to is definitely that about Muriel. I think that all this build up to the detective-vibe is going to cumulate in their s3 role. Essentially: I entirely agree that they are coded as the one to blow open this whole case in S3. The police costume and giving them The Crow Road are certainly suggestive–but more than anything, leaving them in charge of the bookshop (full of Aziraphale’s diaries and books and everything) props them up perfectly to earn the promo they got for s2. Because I’m not sure about you, but my mutuals and I were shocked that the NYCC scene (“hello hello hello, I’m a human police officer!”) didn’t happen until episode three. From the way the promo was going (character profiles, trailer etc.) I thought Muriel would be in s2 WAY more.

They also make a HUGE point of how Muriel is considered “nobody.” They say it themselves, they’re called “the dull one” by Metatron.

They set them up perfectly to solve this later.

Theme 2: Memories and Stories:

Memory! Another theme! –memory that can be tampered with, contained, erased and returned.

Heaven is willing to meddle with and erase memories if necessary. They are, then, SUBTLE.

There is no God narrator.

There is a statue immortalising a very real Gabriel (somehow/for some reason –Gabriel was also involved in its making?) 

My favourite part of season 2 was definitely the minisodes. The costumes, the settings –I was so surprised to find the horses and carts in ep 3 were CGI in the X-Ray! They look so good! I loved how every single flashback was incredibly vital and interesting to expand on Aziraphale and Crowley’s relationship –that convo on the rock in ep 2? WOW. Stunned. Anyway, not to go on.

I completely disagree with the conviction that these were edited. I think that, to the contrary, these memories are (IF there’s something going on with temptation/persuasion (more on that later) and The Book of Life) are ENTIRELY real. And the reason for that is highlighted in the very essay: each memory is tied to a physical record of it happening. The Book of Job; the Polaroid in ‘41, and Aziraphale’s diaries. This is not to say that there aren’t still gaps: where was the “I’m sorry” dance of ‘41? If Aziraphale wasn’t drinking in 2500 BC then when did he start? Just little things like this.

This is the thing: stories, words, are vital. The challenge that they gave the guy who did Sherlock (I can’t remember his name I’m sorry!) –it’s talked about in the X-Ray– was to have words pop out in 4 different ways across S2. This a fun stylistic choice, but it also gives words narrative attention, so ties in with all this. Without God to narrate, narratives and accounts are left to the characters within the world. It’s fun and important both. So is the spelling stuff. Maggie can’t spell, neither can the demons. (She may be a demon herself –I’m not entirely convinced it’s this simple, tbh, but Aziraphale’s miracle not working on her in ep5 is definitely a red flag.) Anyway – it’s also interesting.

With all this, my idea that Heaven/Metatron had been planning the aziracrow divorce from the beginning might mean they’re tampering with The Book of Life –it also could mean that they’re ABOUT to do something weird with Aziraphale’s memories, or all these pieces are going to become very very helpful for Muriel’s investigation.

I really do wonder what this role of records, memories and narratives will come to, but I have a feeling it’ll bleed into s3.

Theme 3: Food

Crowley was the reason Aziraphale tried food in the first place. I just wanted to put that down because of course he was, but also it is deeply INSANE that he INTRODUCED AZIRAPHALE TO THE CONCEPT OF EATING. God, David was right. They really don't exist without each other.

This is kind of the point I make with food here: it’s a HUGE theme in s2, largely just to emphasise the fact that it’s powerful.

For some reason (jokey or otherwise) eccles cakes can “calm you down.”

Aziraphale becomes significantly bonded to Crowley by eating the Ox in ep2. Later, Crowley is “as strong as an Ox." –fun little echo.)

They drink the same wine as always in ‘41 –they share no wine in s2, just the sherry and whiskey respectively. They also don’t share a meal, which seems interesting. I personally think that it’s to do with consumption being a metaphor for queer desire, and the absence of it being a sign of C/A being on “their own side” in s2. Crowley abandons temptation as Aziraphale abandons attempts to “save” Crowley. –-Or it may mean something else!

Crowley drinks laudanum and it makes him go lala. It ALSO makes him turn tiny, then giant, and he does something kind –kind enough to get him dragged off to hell and tortured so badly that he’s asking for holy water as “insurance” 40 years later.

That fucking oatmilk almond coffee. Okay. So if food is powerful, this has weight. From the colour of it being weird against the background to the fact (to quote my dear friend Jey) “nobody fucking drinks almond syrup!!” –I’m sure you’ve see all this going around. Almonds are obviously very poison-coded, and considering the above point I smell something strange. (I don’t believe it was quite a case of drugging per say, but more metaphor: Aziraphale is being tempted. He’s being manipulated, and drawn back into the culty office world of heaven.)

So what we know here is that food is powerful. An important metaphor and force (especially for aziracrow.)

Theme 4: Resurrection

OKAY: so, this is the most original of my listing in these themes. I am so interested in this resurrection thing they’ve got going.

The Resurrectionist pub: where Gabriel and Beez come to their plan. We see that The Dirty Donkey is a lift to heaven (which NOT enough people are talking about) –so what about The Resurrectionist? What power does it hold as a space? Why is the legacy of Mr Dalrymple important?

Why did (wee) Morag’s eyes glow briefly? Is she a zombie now?

Zombies exist. We know this. They’re also tied to the concept of consumption, which is cool.

Heaven measures miracles by Lazarii.

Gabriel, in one of his flashes of prophecy, says: “there will come a tempest (...) the dead will rise from their graves and wander the earth once more.”

These are all cool. Thematically, it seems that being raised from the dead is going to be something big. I’m interested in this, considering that after Gabriel said the above mentioned prophecy my good friend Jey said “hold on, is this going to be about The Rapture?”

Now: we know that “668: Neighbour of the Beast” was supposed to be set in America. Whether it actually is or not, I don’t know, but I think that if it is about a second coming on American soil, The Rapture feels VERY pertinent. The dead are the first to rise and be with God in The Rapture, but all believers join them: and they join them permanently. In some versions, there is a period in which Christ rules the earth. All very fun and interesting prospects for s3!

I would argue that some seriously tough bread started with “oh Crowley, nothing lasts forever,” but hey ho, that’s the very ending of the season. I just want to talk about coded language/draw on what I’ve just said to talk about how we’re set up for the structures of s3:

Heaven is a CULT. A serious cult. From the (temptation) manipulation of the coffee, to the man at the pub calling Gabriel a “mason” –which I’m assuming he means freemason– to the frankly INSANE smile on Michael Sheen’s face as the credits roll (also sickening lighting there)– they are a big threatening cult, and that is going to be important. I think it’ll just get increasingly so.

FurFur and Shax have it OUT for the ineffable husbands. Like they are NOT fans. And they seem to also be buddies now so… not great news.

In The Scene </3 Crowley stops himself short of saying he’d like to spend eternity with Aziraphale, and instead asks him to “go off together,” just like s1 –I think their language is going to develop hugely in s3. It’ll go back to being the space they “carved out for themselves,” only further.

And finally: a bet. The last time we see Crowley, he’s in a car full of plants because he’s carrying “their side” away with him. I am willing to bet –not that this is a hottake or anything– that it’ll end, as it began: in a garden. S3 will end in the garden of their South Downs Cottage !!!

ch. xiii - lamazda

things aren't always what it seems but when even the truth is left unheard, what can people do? one musn't lie but what if the lie is more accepted than the truth? the scariest thing in this world isn't monsters or demons. it's people with no agenda and time to waste.

It was truly a great day for Mingi.

The weather was perfect, he got enough rest, and best of all, he was cleared to return to work.

Mingi was giddy to be back in the office, it was obvious from the spring in his steps and the happy expression on his face. He didn't even care that people were watching him, he was just glad to be welcomed by the familiar smell of the lobby and the hustle and bustle of people all around. But even then, he was so wrapped up in his own personal feelings that he didn't pay much attention to his surroundings.

As per usual, he would tap his employee lanyard onto the automatic gate and waited for the monitor to tell him which elevator to get on. He looked down at his hands to look at the champagne bottle he brought. He was feeling so good that he couldn't stop smiling and patting himself on the back mentally about the good decision he made.

Unlike a lot of people he knows, Mingi absolutely loves his job because he's passionate about it and he's so good at it. Since he was a child, he knew that he wanted to do something whimsical as a career and despite the bullying and teasing he got when he told people what he wanted to be, he went for it and actually made a name for himself. So it was actually very understandable why Mingi got so upset when he was told that he shouldn't come to work for his own safety. It was pure torture for him to be in such a position. No matter how much he was assured that he was going to be kept in the loop by his superior, Mingi would still rather do things on his own, be hands-on if you will.

With each step Mingi took, closer and closer to his office (well, technically the elevator that will take him to his office floor), he felt his excitement grow so big that it was as if his heart was going to explode out of his chest. It was as if the struggles of coming to the office were forgotten, he suddenly had no problem having to wear a disguise to just simply go from one place to the other. And sure, he had to submit some return forms to HR first before he could even go back to REALLY working, but it was no problem for him, it wouldn't even take long. The thought made him cringe because he realized he sounded like a massive dweebus. "God, do I need to get a life?" he asked himself.

"Excuse me?"

Mingi jumped at the sound from his side, not realizing that there was a person also waiting for the elevator. The woman looked up at him with curiosity, "I'm sorry, were you talking to me?" She asked. Mingi immediately palmed his face and shook his head in embarrassment because he so totally did not mean to engage with anyone. "S-sorry, I talk to myself sometimes and I did not realize that you were next to me, I am so sorry for that," he rambled. The woman could only blink in confusion and turned to look forward, waiting for the elevator whilst muttering "Okay then" to no one.

Focus, life, and social awareness. Those were the things Mingi needed to get. Top of his damn list.

When the elevator arrived, Mingi hesitated to get in for a moment, but really what was the point of avoiding the possibility of having more embarrassing situations to the woman he's probably never gonna meet again? So he simply took a deep breath and walked in, catching a glimpse of the woman's face more clearly as his head was not clouded by shame.

Once the doors closed, Mingi's eyebrows furrowed and his head tilted slightly, sensing familiarity in the woman sharing the same space. As he was standing with his back against the elevator wall, he couldn't help but let his eyes linger on the woman. There was something about her that he couldn't put his finger on. Had you two met before? Mingi tried racking his brain, free-associating with names of people he knew or popular names and hoping that one would stick. He was damn sure that he had seen her before and maybe had even talked to her before. Mingi was the type to never forget a face but ALWAYS forget the name and the place they met. His thoughts ran 200 miles an hour, trying to crack who the woman is because there is no way they met at a fashion event because the magazine is the only fashion-related company in the building so they couldn't be co-workers. He didn't frequent the cafe in the lobby so there is no way they talked there. For some reason, the word 'bunny' kept ringing in his head but he had never been to any place that has bunnies in it. Except for the bunny cafe San dragged him to but that was in high school and Mingi's recognition isn't that great. His eyes kept searching for more clues before it dropped to her bag.

"Oh my God," he choked out, catching the attention of the woman who instinctively turned to look at Mingi. "Excuse me?" she couldn't believe that she fell for him talking to himself twice which she was wrong about because Mingi really was talking to her. "I know you," Mingi said, pushing himself off the elevator wall to take a step closer, making the woman lean backwards slightly. "I... Don't think we have, stranger, I don't know who you are," she chuckled awkwardly. But Mingi was persistent. He shook his head adamantly and grinned widely, "No, we totally know each other. We met at the bar a month ago."

Immediately, at the mention of the bar, your eyes widened and the grip you had on your bag tightened. Just your luck, meeting your baby's dad in the one place you didn't expect to meet him. "I-I don't know what you're talking about," you tried to turn your face around but Mingi took a step away but slightly in front of you, "You do know me, you remembered that we-"

Before Mingi could continue his words, the elevator let out a 'ding' which indicated that they have arrived on a floor. The sound caused Mingi to look up to check whether they were on their floor only to find out that it was not, it was floor 17. You took his being distracted as an opportunity to push him back into the elevator and ran out, causing Mingi to slightly stumble and let out an 'oof'. "Hey, wait!" Mingi called out, mindlessly trying to follow after your figure that had already run down the hall before taking a left at the end of the hallway. But the elevator door had begun to close and he was not about to be injured on his first day back. So he groaned in disappointment and leaned his head on the closed door with closed eyes, not believing that he lost the person whom he had been looking for. And frankly not believing that he found her when he was not even trying, maybe he could brag about that to his friends who had been trying to search for her this whole time. At least now Mingi knows that they work in the same building, he might be able to find out who she is and which office she worked at.

When Mingi opened his eyes, he saw something on the floor that he had not realized before. He reached down and took the item, examining its seemingly blank appearance before turning it around and seeing something written on it. His initial disappointment immediately dissolved as he realized that he was now in possession of a clue that could help him find that woman again.

Truly, it was a great day for Mingi.

their firstborn is a girl and she's a january capricorn. i like to think she was born a mini adult. she was born frowning and serious. and as she grew up, that didn't really change. she's super focused and super quiet. no one knows what she's thinking and she just might be plotting your murder. she's super ambitious but she's also super protective of the people she loves. she'll only warm up to someone if they're worth her time and most people aren't strong enough so she has a group of very close knit friends. she has a good relationship with both of her parents but she wishes her dad was around a little more.

their second born is a boy and he's an october scorpio. born the day before halloween, it definitely shows in his personality. he's that tall, dark, brooding stereotype. he's hot but he gives people the creeps because he prefers to linger in the shadows and watch people. he's more in touch with his demon side and is a little ruthless, but it manifests in the most hilarious of times. kill or be killed applies strictly to academics and internships. he's only really soft around his family, especially his mother. his relationship with his dad is not the best because this kid is way too honest and will strip eren down to his bones with how much truth he spits out. he's had only one girlfriend his whole life and they met in pre-school and he decided he'd marry her one day. the end.

their third is a boy and he's an august leo. he's the opposite of his brother. he's hella warm and has a personality big enough for the whole family. but being the third out of so many kids, he actually craves a lot of attention which he doesn't always get. so he works extra hard to get the best grades, he's the president of every club he's in, and even chores are a competition. he's really annoying but it really stems from his anxiety about being forgotten. he also has a temper and he's really hard on himself. but again, he's really warm and friendly and generally likable. he loves his parents and strives to make them proud. he has to be kept from telling people that his dad's an actual demon.

their fourth is yet another boy and he's a july cancer. he's a quiet and sensitive boy. like his eldest brother, he prefers to be in the shadows but he's not off-putting like he is. he just likes to observe people. he catches things no one does because he's so observant. he takes the whole "listen don't speak" thing to heart and as a result, he really understands people and how they operate. when he is upset, he's always going to his mother for comfort. and he's very big on the "forgive not forget" mentality because he will never stop reminding his siblings or even his dad about that one screw up from years ago. he probably has a photographic memory too.

their fifth is a girl and she's an october libra. born a twin, she's a creative and whimsical child. she's basically the embodiment of a fairy straight out of storybook. her head is constantly in the clouds and her favorite thing to carry around is a notebook and a camera because she's always inspired to write something down. because she's so often in her own world, she has a bit of a distant relationship with her parents and her siblings. she stays out of most conflict in the house because it can get pretty intense and she disassociates as a result. when she is involved, she plays mediator. most of the time, though, she's writing or daydreaming about something. she ends buying a cottage in the swiss countryside where she probably becomes an adult fantasy writer. she is a sweet girl but a bit of an airhead too.

their sixth is also a girl and an october libra. born a twin, she's also a quiet creative but while her sister is a writer, she's more of a painter and photographer. unlike her sister, she's a little more down-to-earth and has a much closer relationship to her parents. at first her relationship with her father isn't great but he starts taking an interest in her hobbies and joins her often to go paint or take photos. she plays mediator but she's also a lot better at reading the room than her older twin is. she has a lot of prizes from art and photography contests which makes her older brother compete with her often. she just wants her peace.

their seventh is a boy and a february aquarius like his mother. he's the little scientist of the bunch, going off of hard logic and data. emotions have no meaning or place to him but he's only moved by his mom's tears or pain, but no one else's. he also has a decent relationship with his dad but his dad is perpetually annoyed by how robotic he seems. he's not cold, he's just not emotional. he is there for his siblings when the need arises.

their eighth is also a boy and an april aries. he's basically his dad's mini-me. anger with absolutely no filter or tact. he hates sleeping because sleep is boring and he constantly has to be doing something or he'll actually get depressed. he has a wild imagination though and he's often exploring the world around him because he wants to see more of it. he comes from a loud house so he has to be the loudest one in the bunch so that everyone can hear him. his dad is his idol and he wants to be just like him, while he's super protective of his mother and his siblings. he's fiercely loyal and only sports helps him channel his anger appropriately.

the ninth and final is a girl and a may taurus. she's basically her mother's mini-me. well, she's a lot like canon mikasa in that she's quiet, needs warmth, very loving, a homebody, and very down to earth. being the baby of the family, she's doted on by her siblings and parents. even though she's half demon, she has the temperament and personality of an angel. by the time she's in middle school, she's gotten household chores down even better than her mom. she's a devoted plant mom and wants to be a botanist or florist when she's older. she's just very soft, sweet, and wishes no harm to anyone.

Che'nya Romantic Headcanons

Aight homies, let’s go! We have a lot of catch-up to do for Che’nya, so here’s the first one. I’ll be having one Che’nya fic posted every day so by next week we’ll be all caught up for this little shit.

Che'nya Romantic Headcanons

Romance with Che’nya is always a toss up, because you just never know what he’s thinking. Not to mention being at different schools tends to make things a bit more difficult. However, something that is noticeable is how often he begins visiting the school after he discovers you. He was already popping in every now and again to mess with Riddle or Trey, but once he discovered who you were, he just had to come over more often. You were just so interesting, not to mention you ended up helping out his friends. He sometimes wondered what you were doing at that school, since in his opinion, you’d be a better fit for Royal Sword Academy.

The moment he realizes he has feelings for you, he decides to pop up over at Ramshackle more than Heartslabyul. You guys go to different schools, so he’s gotta take every opportunity to swoon you. Not that he really is trying to hard on that aspect, he figures quality time makes people grow closer together. Not to mention, he adores getting to spook you when he pops up unannounced. It is just a common thing now for you to hear his chuckling down the hallway, then a figure minutes later having a disembodied head floating towards you. He’s even done this a few times at night, scaring you far more than the ghosts in the home ever did.

One of his love languages is giving gifts. However, they’re never really store bought gifts, or even useful things. A lot of times, it’s stuff he just happens to find somewhere when going on a walk. You have random things, like golf balls, broken watches, a one-way street sign (that made you wonder if he actually just stole it or not…you really hoped he didn’t). Of course, all these trinkets are finding their way into your bedroom. The way that Che’nya organizes (because of course he insists on placing these new decorations) make your room look more whimsical if anything. It’s very reminiscent of the man who got you the gifts.

Che’nya plays the waiting game for a solid four months (be happy he waited that long) before deciding he didn’t want to just be friends anymore. He had been working on swooning you for so very long, and he just wants to be able to call you his already and do all those obnoxious couple things. So he’s just going to pop right into your house one evening while you’re fixing something simple for dinner, and wrap his arms around your waist. If you’re not used to him by now, you’re probably going to have a heart attack until you hear his familiar cackling. He’s just going to nuzzle his face into your neck and tell you his feelings. Turn around in his arms and give him a big peck on the forehead. You’ll see his tail lazily swinging behind him, indicating he’s pretty happy.

He adores teasing you, oh so very much. He’s almost as bad as some of the Night Raven students, but he’s always a bit nicer when it comes to you. As usual, he’s going to be popping up out of nowhere and spooking you. Now you have to worry about him doing that in your sleep and waking up with him curled around your midsection and not letting you go. He also is the type to lean in for a kiss on your lips, and last minute kiss your cheek. If you pout enough, he might apologize and give you a proper kiss though…that’s if he's feeling like it. He might just tease you with fake kisses a few more times, just because he’s in a sadistic mood. You’ll have to literally grab him and drag him into a kiss if you want one…and even then he might slip away before you can do so.

He is overly affectionate with you, and PDA doesn’t trouble him at all. He’s do it a lot around both Trey and Riddle since he’s proud to have you as his partner, and wants to show you off. Riddle normally yells at you two, telling you to stop getting handsy during their tea party. You swear, it’s all Che’nya and it’s hard to stop him. He also loves surprising you with affection…even when you least expect it. You have no idea how he always managed to not only sneak onto campus, but into classrooms, is a miracle in itself. You’ll just be sitting in Trein’s class, clearly bored, when suddenly you feel wet lips against your cheek. You know it’s him and you just sigh, hoping he sticks around for after class to hang out.

Che’nya likes to have all your attention on him when you’re dating. He’s not going to be obsessive over it, but he’s also going to be blowing up your phone all day with random thoughts he has. Sometimes even sending overly adorable photos of things going on at Royal Sword Academy. Be expecting messages with the dwarves in there with the caption “Moments before disaster”. It was a set ot two photos, one being three of the dwarves on each other’s shoulders, trying to get something on a high shelf. The next was them mid air, falling. It was just random things about his life that he wanted to share with you, and he’d be more than happy if you snapped photos and just told him little things that was going on over at Night Raven as well.

Che’nya is a partaker of naps, especially after a long day of classes. Just because his school is known for having a nicer atmosphere that’s less hostile, doesn’t change the fact that it’s a school. Classes could be tiring and hard, and when that happened, he just wanted to curl up with you. Not to mention, due to his whimsical nature and constant changes of what he wants, he doesn’t have too many friends over at his college. It can be tiring around people who don’t get it, so he’ll come over to Ramshackle and tug on your shirt, silently begging you to just lay down for a while with him. He can’t just nap on your lap, oh no, he needs a full on cuddle session with his body draped over you. He adores being the big spoon since he can wrap his tail around your body easier, and nuzzle into your neck.

Che’nya doesn’t care in the slightest that you two go to rival colleges. In fact, he kind of embraces it. He’s always telling you about how much of star-crossed lovers you two were. Forbidden from being together, but love brings them to meet in the middle. He plays into this trope a bit too much sometimes since he finds it fun, that when he drags you out into the town, he makes you guys wear silly disguises. Anyone can tell it’s you two, but it’s the fun of it all that really speaks to him. He also loves meeting somewhere in the middle of the island at night to go stargazing with you.

Che’nya is a very chill person who just goes with the flow. He’s very much attune to listening to how he felt and acting accordingly. Relationships sometimes had a funny thing where you’d have disagreements. Whenever this happens, Che’nya turns his agitation into full on teasing you. He will do this until you’re absolutely flustered and can no longer think about what was making you mad earlier. The moment he sees how heated your face is from embarrassment, he can feel anything troubling him go away. He’s going to keep teasing you though, and then leave you a mess with kisses all over your face.

A = Activities - What do they like to do with their s/o? How do they spend their free time with them?

He enjoys indulging in softer things with you once you've reached that stage (sleeping snuggled together, reading together, coming up with new strategies.) All that stuff.

He’ll also train you (if you don’t have the skills already) and sparr with you regularly. You tend to be on the move a fair bit too, so road-trip shenanigans will ensue and you will piss each other off somehow.

B = Beauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?

He inherently finds you attractive if he gives you more than a second glance period, but competence is something he finds most attractive in general. Any one who can hold their own in a fight or prove themselves resourceful and able to keep their cool during conflict is going to peak his curiosity.

Whether he becomes romantically interested in you outside of your initial appeal depends on your personality out of battle.

C = Comfort - How would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?

Not well. Eric is not good at emotions that inherently have to do with vulnerability. At first he’s likely to ignore you or tell you to get your head on straight or some shit so he won’t be much help.

Now if you're having something like a panic attack or if you’ve gone hysterical or something he won’t just leave you out to dry. He’ll be gruff and awkward about it but he’ll put in some effort to calm you down. Stressing that he’s got your back will definitely be his go to, but explaining the logistics of your situation will also be something he gravitates towards: how far off the grid you are, the uv lights littering the hideout, etc.

D = Dreams - How do they picture their future with their s/o?

On principle Eric doesn’t let himself get distracted by whimsical thoughts like that. He’s fighting a seemingly endless war and thinking about a future that likely won’t happen and won't do anything but get him killed is useless in his opinion.

In general Eric just cherishes the time he does have with you. At most when you're resting and he has the chance to just hold you he’ll think about staying with you like this forever. Not being in danger ever again, not the vampiric kind at least.

E = Equal - Are they the dominant one in the relationship, or rather passive?

Eric’s the dominant one, no argument. Both his personality and profession don’t allow him comfort in not being in explicit control of his situation.

That being said, if he trusts you he will allocate some of the responsibility to you. You’re his partner in and off the field and likely have a dominant personality as well that compliments his own. You’re two different types of dominant and balance one another out.

F = Flight - Would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How are they fighting?

No. It doesn’t even matter if it’s a small thing that’s not even really a secret but just personal, he’ll be in his feelings about it.

Earning his trust is no easy feat and anytime you break it Eric will take it personally, but smaller offenses he will undoubtedly get over himself about eventually.

Now anything big is a whole other story. You're secretly a mole? He’ll kill you and it’ll be vicious even if a part of him will always mourn what you once had.

G = Gratitude - How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?

Eric is big headed. Without active prompting from someone else, like Whistler, or the sudden absence of your help he’ll mostly overlook your contributions.

It’d have to take something/someone shoving how good you are for him in his face for him to appreciate you outside of grunts of thanks and rushed requests.

Even romantically he’ll insist he doesn’t need you, that he’s not attached. It pisses you off like nothing else and his denial will grate on you to the point of an argument at some point. He’ll have to be honest with himself eventually though, and do a hell of a lot to make it up to you and show you that he values your relationship too.

H = Honesty - Do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?

He inherently doesn’t like telling anyone about his mother and her death and so finding out about that will take him being real comfortable with his s/o. His mother having been turned successfully, not being dead, and leaving him out to dry as a kid/trying to kill him will be a secret he keeps even closer to his chest.

Other than that he’ll hide small things from you if he feels he can handle a situation on his own. Things like if someone is following you or he was confronted by an enemy are things that will only come out if his leg is pulled.

I = Inspiration - Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helping them overcome personal problems?

100% Eric is way more personable with you in his life. Doesn’t matter if you’ve also got a gruff personality, the fact that he’s talking to someone else positively at all is enough to improve his communication skills.

Him loving you and being able to admit that is also a way you change him. He becomes way better at handling intimacy with you at his side.

If you’re less battle oriented or meek he’ll help with that definitely. At first he’s too forceful but eventually he’ll get the gist of teaching you with things like positive reassurance and cooperation.

J = Jealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?

Eric is more possessive than he is jealous. He’s used to the good things in his life being taken away from him and is very protective of you.

He doesn’t get jealous mostly because he’d have to think anyone could be better than him at something, for starters, and jealousy can’t happen at all unless you manage to form a close personal connection with someone else.

Even then once he’s learned to trust you at your own reassurance he’ll take you at your word completely that you only have eyes for him.
