i wonder what the evolutionary advantage would be to have pointy elf ears compared to round human one

like... do they hear better on the account of having more room to absorb noise or is it about body language? like the ears perk up when happy and down when sad?

like tmi but i can move my ears no problem.. just imagine being able to use it to tell others my mood like it’s a second set of eyebrows
