FMA Prompts # 2

Okay, but a hanahaki AU but it's familial love instead of romantic. Things are going well at HQ until Ed starts coughing really harshly. The team thinks that maybe it's just a cold (wouldn't be uncommon with how late the boys are out), but after few weeks it only seems to be getting worse. Cue a mission debrief with Mustang, and Ed just about ends up hacking up a lung; there on the floor lies several bloody petals. It's pretty obvious that Ed is suffering from hanahaki, but they come to the wrong conclusions (it must be Winry that Ed is pining after, and when that leads to dead ends, maybe Ed is still feeling guilty about Al?). Whilst everyone is trying to get Ed to realize that his brother doesn't hold anything against him - that Al loves him very much - no one suspects that his hanahaki might stem from a certain father figure instead.
