Note
how typical is cate blanchett's accent
she has "rich lady cultivated australian transplant" accent. its when australian celebrities move/work overseas for so long that their accent becomes very neutral but crisp (kind of like how our news anchors sound) with an american/british lilt in some cases. same with chris hemsworth, hugh jackman, toni collette, etc. even when cate blanchett speaks in interviews, i cant really tell what part of the mainland shes from (with chris hemsworth i can tell it used to be more broad/northern, but with cate i really cant get a beat on it)

MEET FRANCINE FABRAY-ST. JAMES.
NAME: Francine Eliza Fabray-St. James.
NICKNAMES: Frannie, Fran, Cici.
BIRTH ORDER: Oldest / sibling.
AGE: Twenty-six.
HOMETOWN: Beverley Hills, California.
GENDER IDENTITY/PRONOUNS: Cis female, she/her.
ORIENTATION: Heterosexual.
OCCUPATION/EDUCATION: Vice President of NOVA Clothing Co.
FACECLAIM: Margot Robbie.
FRANCINE’S LIFE SO FAR.
POSITIVE: Determined, outgoing, charming.
NEGATIVE: Perfectionist, cautious, blunt.
Named after their great-grandmother, Francine Eliza Fabray was born into this world with a silver spoon in her mouth and she was completely okay with sucking on it. Most would assume growing up in the family that she had, that she was a spoiled brat. But that wasn’t the case. No, she never cried and screamed if she didn’t get what she wanted – with her head held high, even as a young little girl – Francine made damn sure she got what she wanted and exactly when she wanted it. There was never any no’s when it came to Francine, because she just wouldn’t have it. Ever since she was young she never thought anything could stop her from having a life she wanted.
Soon enough at the age of two, Francine was becoming an older sister. And not just to one little brother or sister – but to twins. It was definitely a change in the Fabray household, but Francine never once hated the idea of her siblings. She’s actually always looked out for them since they were young.  Having kids didn’t stop their parents from continuing their careers though, which Francine resented as she grew up, being taken care of by nanny after nanny and hardly ever seeing her parents. Sure, she loved them. They bought her everything she ever wanted, and she got whatever she wished for. But it didn’t make up for the lack of parenting.
Maybe that’s why Francine has always been so driven to be the best. Because she always hoped to grab her parents attention for more than a few minutes before they went back to work. From a young age Francine joined everything she could – ballet, soccer, the debate team, cheer-leading, horseback riding, art class, slam poetry. She did everything just to win those medals and get them showcased for her parents to be proud of something. But they never really seemed pleased, and she always felt empty. But she still focused hard on school and her activities. Because she still liked proving she was great to those around her. Excelling in school, and in her social life.
Francine just wanted to be perfect in any way she could be – and sadly, it took her a long time to figure out that there was no such thing. And that faking who she was wasn’t going to get her anywhere. Sure, she was always outgoing and kind. But she tried to mold herself into the popular girl that she never really tried to be. But it just happened. Francine was well-liked, with a big group of friends that all seemed superficial and fake. She didn’t have the person she could talk to about things, because she’d go to school the next day and everyone would be talking about it. She didn’t have any real friends, and she didn’t have real boyfriends. The string of bad boys she dated were nothing but guys wasting her time.
When it came time for Francine to go off to college she had plenty of options but had decided to go to Harvard. Not only because it was an amazing school, but because it was the farthest from her parents. Who sure, she loves, but can’t really be around without feeling like she’s just not good enough for their standards. Francine double majored in business and finance while having a minor in communication – as always, she wanted to be the best. And she wanted to build something for herself, something that others would appreciate.
While attending Harvard, Francine had met William – and they had immediately hit it off. Having a lot in common with growing up in wealthy families with parents who worked in business. William was the first person to understand Francine, truly. And he was her first real friend. Because he understood what it was constantly like trying too hard to please their parents. They started dating rather quickly, but for awhile they were off and on. Unsure if they were really right for each other or not. But finally, as college ended, and they had both grown a lot – they decided to give it one more try. By the end of the summer, they were engaged.
William’s father absolutely loved Francine. He loved her work ethics, loved her ideas and creativity, so it wasn’t a surprise that after she got the St. James name attached to her own, he was offering her a job she couldn’t and definitely wouldn’t refuse. Jeffery St. James had two major companies he ran, and both were completely opposite from the other. He had a chain of resort and spas scattered in the U.S. and also in other countries. Working alongside his son who was Vice President. But he also had a clothing company, too. A brand that also had stores located all over, NOVA Clothing Co.
He had been looking for someone for awhile to help him run it. He wasn’t much of a fashion wizard but he had somehow grew the company enough that they were getting their name out there. And that’s why he needed someone who knew what they were doing. Who knew business but also understood fashion and changing trends. Francine was that person, and soon he was giving her full command over the company to run while he stood behind her and signed any papers that needed to be signed. It’s basically her company now, and Jeffery trusts her completely with it.
Now, Francine is content with who she is as a person. She still has small insecurities and fears of people leaving her when she needs them the most. But overall she’s happy with herself and the life she’s made. She’s an outgoing person, who only wants the best for herself and the people she cares about. While also being strong-headed and determined and sometimes a little too blunt and charismatic for her own good. Either way, things are good – and NOVA is turning into something big for her.
The only problem? While Francine believes that at one point in time she loved William – she isn’t so sure she does anymore. She’s realized, as she’s grown as a person that things have changed and they don’t seem the same anymore. Living the life they do, Francine appreciates the money but she knows she can be happy without it. While William, lives for that lifestyle. Just like his father, just like her father. Slowly, they’re pulling apart from each other. They usually only ever see each other at work meetings and when they’re going to bed – if they’re even both in town, which is rare. It’s heartbreaking for Francine. Because she’s not just losing a husband – but she’s losing her best friend. A divorce has been on the back of Francine’s mind for sometime now, but she knows if they divorce than everything she worked for will be gone. And while technically NOVA isn’t her company, she’s grown with it and molded it into something beautiful. And she doesn’t want to lose that when it’s really all she has.
Currently, Francine is living in Boston, content with staying in Massachusetts. Since it became a home away from home while she attended college. And she works at the Boston office for NOVA. But she also does a lot of traveling for work as well. Technically, she and William are living together in King’s Terrace. But with their work schedules they rarely see each other with how often William is gone on business trips since the resorts take up more of his time. But Francine isn’t complaining, because while she always wanted to have someone – she only feels like she’s in the room with a complete stranger when she’s with him.

IN CHARACTER QUESTIONNAIRE.
WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST STRENGTH? HOW DOES IT COME IN HANDY?
I’m determined. I never take no for an answer. Even if I have to fight to get what I want, I will fight as hard as I can. Because even if I don’t get it, at least I know I tried my damnedest.
WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST WEAKNESS? HOW DOES IT AFFECT YOUR DAY-TO-DAY LIFE?
I’m somewhat of a perfectionist. It’s something I’ve dealt with all my life, and while I’m much better than I used to be there are still some days everything that to be perfect or I might just have a bit of a freak out.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN TEN YEARS?
Hopefully divorced but still with my business. I’m not sure, but hopefully somewhere magical. Happy, still married, maybe I’ll have some kids and my own empire.
WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO KING’S TERRACE?
It’s near my office and it’s just a nice cute apartment complex. William and I figured this was the perfect place to settle until we eventually move into an actual home. But that might not be anytime soon -- we’re enjoying where we are now.
IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN TIME AND TELL YOUR YOUNGER SELF SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Don’t worry about who loves you, just love yourself. Be happy, have fun. Never let anyone’s opinion of you determine how you feel. You’re you. And that’s spectacular.
