One thing that I find interesting about jojos is its heavily familial theme surrounding a fairly broken family.
From the very beginning, Jonathan loses his mother, is bullied by his adoptive brother, and is viewed as less favorable by his father. After his death, Erina must raise their child on her own, only for him to pass away and leave her in the same role once again. Joseph doesn't know his mother. Jotaro's father is missing from the story. Josuke is an illegitimate child who reconciles with his absent father. Giorno severs all ties to his family after their abuse. All of them have few family members that are actively in their lives. And yet, they all bear the Joestar curse. They are fighting the battles of their family members that they never knew, simply because they are part of the Joestar family. Their stands manifest at the same time; they are literally connected by fate. All of this culminates in Stone Ocean, as Jotaro, caught up in pursuing the Joestar family problems, neglects his own daughter and takes on the role that his father did when he was a child. Jolyne hated him for not being there, yet always knew he would be there for her. She stole a car. Why did she do that? So he would come save her. "The Joestar family, through their bloodline, have seized victories by drawing strength from honor and courage. However! Your bloodline is also your weakness. Jotaro Kujo, your weakness is your daughter" - this is what Pucci tells him the moment that Jotaro chooses his daughter over the universe. Their familial love is strong, yet distant. They repeat the mistakes of their parents before them. They are struck by tragedy before they can become parents. They can't connect. And yet they'd doom the world for each other.
I think that, in the second continuity, this theme is very literally personified through the rock disease. Before that, we get gut-wrenching lines like "God took the wrong son" from Joestar fathers, before Johnny marries into the Higashikata family. It is the rock disease that leads to Johnny digging up the saints corpse to protect his family. He was willing to go against the entire goal of sbr in order to save his wife, and when his son was afflicted with the same condition, he was willing to lose his life. The rock disease serves as a physical embodiment of the danger that led to the tragedy of the Joestar family. It is literally passed down through the Higashikata family, similar to the way that "destiny" and "fate" were almost inherited by the Joestars. In the Higashikata family, each generation was forced to choose to let their eldest son die, or kill someone in his place. This death and tragedy is inherited, and everyone knows. Norisuke has to live with the fact that his mother died so he could live. He is willing to do the same for his grandson. Jobin's life was heavily influenced by the fact that his mother wouldn't die for him, and it leads him to pursue the same for his son. The Higashikata family has this extreme inherited trauma that they can never truly escape.
The rock disease even reaches the Joestar family, with Holy becoming afflicted with the same condition. Holy, a single mother like her counterpart, also serves as a guiding force of the story. The fact that she rescued Josefumi when his own mother wouldn't is what leads to him helping Kira save her. Even after they become Josuke and lose their own memories, Josuke understands that Holy is his mother. She was such a strong comforting presence in both of his pasts, that even though he cannot remember anything about his life, he understands how important she was to him. In the same way that Joestars inherit their battles and traumas, Josuke inherits his mother's love. He is welcomed into the Higashikata home. He is given a family. And I think that is the true message in all of this. Josuke literally has no connection to his past, much like previous Joestars who are disconnected from their family, yet the efforts that they made still affect him. It is the people that he chooses to surround himself with that matter, as even when presented with Kiyomi, he would rather go to his real family. Family can pass along a great sadness, but family is also the people you choose to surround yourself with. Love transcends fate.

based on an drawing by @jeonseoguu :
Jonathan lives AU, but he's only an immortal head after Dio stole his body (either through stand powers or residual hamon or something else). He hangs from Joseph or Jotaro's belt and gives them advice as a "guide" of sorts, but his grandson and great-great-grandson hardly ever listen to him, and there's not much he can do about it...
I looked at the art you talked baout and nearly hurt myself giggling from this:
I KNOW he berates Joseph for AAAAAAGES about his infidelity, and I KNOW Suzie Q is just sitting in the background nodding righteously with each point.
Jotaro’s not safe either and gets an earful and a half for calling Holly a “bitch” so many times, Jonathan’s head flickering with Hamon infused electricity in his rage.
And since it’s canon that Jonathan’s body develops a stand, whenever he’s set down, The Passion pulls him around like some fucked up worm on a string.

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝘿𝙞𝙤: 𝙋𝙚𝙩 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙥 | 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙎𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣
WICKED EYES
MASTERLIST
This is a dark romance with descriptions of violence, gore, racism, sexism, and NSFW themes. The reader is black in this AU but this story can be enjoyed by all walks of life.
Sexualization/Objectification of the Fem! Reader, violence against the reader (it's tame, reader-chan is strong.) Not Beta read bc I am a piece of shit.
3.3k words
There was only one thing Dio craved the most in this world; something that was worth more than fame or fortune. Something that Dio took the time to remove every obstacle in his way to get it: Your attention. It didn’t matter if you were sad, angry, or happy. As long as it was because of him, it was something he desired. The man would go to any lengths just for you to stop what you’re doing and acknowledge him in any way. He reveled in it.
Now, you were where he wanted you: In his castle, undying and given a stand of your own. What now? Well, you were still rejecting him. There was no Jonathan or Erina in your ear telling you how bad he was. It irked him. All the hard work he’s done and you’ve still yet to show any affection to him. You’ve even stopped reciprocating completely. Why? Surely, it couldn’t be because he lied to you and choked you until you passed out when you tried to leave? Women like that, right? No?
Oh.
Still, you were in no position to soft-block his love and not show it back. In the end, his actions wouldn’t mean anything because he would give you the world and he would make sure you knew this. The straw that broke the camel’s back was your lack of reaction during sex. The experience wasn’t enough when he was satisfying himself alone. He loved when he knew he could conquer your body; seeing you whimper and squirm at his skills.
But, you would just lay there. Your expression was wrapped in a bored look as his body trapped you from above. Whenever Dio wanted more lewd favors, such as desiring you to go down on him, you wouldn’t participate. He would try exercising power over you by making you get on your knees while pressing his member against your cheek and lips. He tried to get you to do something. Anything. Even if it were just sex he wanted your attention more than anything else. It was like you held no love for him anymore. If only you understood the meaning behind all of his actions, you wouldn’t be upset.
Unsatisfied with your behavior, Dio stormed out, once again swearing that prostitutes would appreciate him more than you. Since he is gone now, it would probably be best to speak to Dio’s subordinates.
You found Noriaki once again. He seemed to have a gift for you. You honestly didn’t believe you’d see him again, so it came as a surprise to you.
“Lady (y/n!)”
You smiled softly once you noticed him. “Oh, Noriaki. You haven’t left yet?” You tilted your head. You could’ve sworn that Dio sent him off to pursue Joseph’s grandson. The young boy was oozing with excitement as he approached you. He only hummed at your question at first, debating if he should engage in future conversation, fearing that he may upset Lord Dio.
The flesh bud on his forehead typically prevented him from going out of his way for such a thing but…you made him feel different. Somehow.
“N-No, I couldn’t help but—“ Noriaki quickly sucked in at the sudden contact you made with him using your stand. It showed itself from behind you and lifted his bangs like so. It was then you saw the flesh bud. Your suspicions of Dio were correct.
The school boy opened his mouth to speak before you talked over him. “I’m sorry he’s done this to you.” You muttered, frowning just a bit. Your stand retracted into your body and faded away. “Did what?” Noriaki repeated, adjusting his hair back accordingly.
“Nothing.” You gave him a cheery eyed smile. You then cleared your throat and sighed. “I already know why you’ve become loyal to my husband, Dio. I know why you’ll be leaving soon.” You then closed your eyes. “And all I ask from you is that you look deep inside of yourself and realize that you have more value than this. You don’t need to follow Dio.”
When you made contact with Noriaki, he felt a warm presence within him. It was like he had a moment of reflection…realization. It made the flesh bud on his forehead tingle just a bit. If he hasn’t been self aware enough, he might’ve just fainted. What were your words doing to him? Was it just your touch? Your stand power?!
“Th-Thank you…but Lord Dio has shown me things that he could never have imagined. Being here with you and him has only solidified my feelings.” Ignoring your fading smile, he then presented his gift. It was the portrait of you before. It seems as though he was able to finish it after all.
“Oh, Thank you.”
You wanted to be happy. You truly did but…you couldn’t. Dio brainwashed this child.
“I must be on my way now. There isn’t much time. I’ll see you again soon.”
You pursed your lips softly, looking down at this small piece of art you were gifted. It was much smaller than the canvas you remember Noriaki working on in the past. It was a scarily accurate painting of you. Your eternal beauty has been immortalized in picture form now. How fitting. What good is a vampire mansion without portraits of the occupants?
You took the small frame to the room you had been sharing with Dio. It felt best to hang it up and have it on display. You didn’t know why but you cherished it a lot. It was like a small bit of happiness in this misery.
Dio would make sure to snuff it out.
Anytime you found yourself growing accustomed to him being absent, he would reappear. Almost as if it was on purpose…
“Oh? And what is this?”
Dio emerged from behind you like a shadow in the darkness, taking the painting from your hands to examine for himself.
“Ugh.” You rolled your eyes, moving out of the way before the man could trap you with his body. His nose scrunched up in disgust at your behavior. “Are you not happy to see me? Do you have any idea how long I’ve been away?” Like trash, he tossed the poor gift aside, missing any means of a display. It fell onto the ground with a light thud.
“I don’t know…I don’t care.” You walked over to a nearby bookshelf, putting your attention into finding a book instead of giving him all of your energy. Sadly, the vampire man was mistaken to believe that you’d want him by now.
But its fine. He always enjoys a challenge.
“Of course you do, my love.” Dio caught your hand as it began to pull a book from the case. “I—“ But just as the words began to fall from his mouth, you swatted his hand away with a loud ‘slap!’
“You reek of whore.” You hissed, resuming your search for a book to spend the rest of the night reading. If Dio were the man he used to be, his insecurity would be out for all to see. Now, he didn’t wear his heart in his sleeve so openly.
Dio chuckled. “Jealous, are we? My apologies. I suppose this is how things will be once you deny me. I am your husband. You’re not allowed to deny me. You can be replaced.” He smirked, doing his best to rub salt on the wound in the most “Dio” way he could. “You are mine by right.”
“Heh.” You half smiled. “Not jealous, just—disappointed. And I’m not yours. I don’t belong to anyone. You’d think someone of your stature would know better than to stick his cock into anything that walks just because he couldn’t please his wife—ah!”
Your speech was cut by him digging his claws into your throat. Books dropped to the floor as he slammed you into the shelf. “I can please you. You just hold it in, I know you do.” His eyes were narrowed, voice low as he spoke through his teeth. It seems you hit a nerve.
“Haha…” You let out a weak laugh. “No matter how much you try to separate yourself from the common man, you still act just like them. Pathetic.”
Dio’s eyes retracted at your statement. Your mockery. What happened to you? He couldn’t stand the one person he truly loves to say these things. You were just angry, right? He slept with other women. Any woman would be upset. He knew that.
“So you don’t care? Not at all?”
“I do not.”
“You don’t care that there’s women out there—carrying my children?”
“Good for them.”
You let out a yelp when Dio suddenly let you go. “And you don’t want to go out there and, I don’t know—kill them?!”
“No.” You shrugged. You raised your hand to your neck, sealing your wounds and taking one of the fallen books into your hand. It was a romance novel. One you would definitely enjoy alone. “Now, leave me be.”
Meanwhile, Pucci didn’t think he would need to become a marriage coach at such a young age until he met Dio. It was such an awkward time as well, given the boy was helping himself to Dio’s book collection.
His master came in, genuinely confused and pissed off at what he should do for his wife. In a way, it was almost fascinating to the young Pucci. It was almost like he forgot that Dio was a God and his wife was his equal; fighting like mortals. The vampire man would even blow off steam, using his godlike reflexes to build small models of ships to put on display.
“…And she doesn’t even care if I lie with other women. If it were the other way around, I would’ve caved their skulls in.” Dio eyebrows were furrowed in concentration as he tried to focus on the task at hand. He didn’t even want to vent but sometimes Dio couldn’t control his actions when he felt at ease.
Pucci frowned. He listened to Dio’s testaments of his relationship with you and how he treated you. It was clear that Dio was probably the worst person for you to be with. Your kind and motherly nature towards him was so different from how Dio spoke of you. It hurt his heart.
“Perhaps, you should try being more gentle with her? Show that you are sorry?” There wasn’t really much room for Pucci to give advice since he was rather limited in experience with women.
“Sorry? Why would I do that? She denied me.”
“But, Lord Dio, shouldn’t she be allowed to do that?”
“No.”
Oh, Dio will never learn.
Pucci sighed. “I think you should try to make her feel better. Girls like gifts. It shows that you can make sacrifices and that you actually pay attention to what they may like. Do you know what Lady (y/n) likes?”
“Hm.” Dio learned back in his wooden chair. His eyes rolled to the left as he placed a hand on his chin. “A gift you say? She likes…”
Did you like anything? Books, perhaps? Well, there were a ton of those. What would he look like doing that?
The young boy grew worried that his Master was having such a hard time thinking of what was supposed to be an easy thing.
“Y-You don’t know what she is interested in?” Pucci could only blink in disbelief. Weren’t you Dio’s lover from over 100 years ago?! The one girl he dated in his youth? The one he married before being put into a coffin at the bottom of the sea?!
“I know what she likes. She was a slave girl when I knew her, you see.” Dio smirked at how infatuated you used to be with him as children. “Always so busy with taking care of idiots that she barely had time for me. When we did spend time together, all she talked about was tea, baking, cleaning and—pets.”
It was then your soft, child-like voice invaded his mind. He felt his stomach almost leap at the feeling of pure nostalgia back when things were so much simpler.
꒰ “Dio! You have a dog and you didn’t tell me?”
“That isn’t my dog. Where have you heard such nonsense?!”
“Erina told me that Jonathan told her that you have a dog named Danny! Why have you never told me?! I love animals but Erina’s parents won’t let her have one.” ꒱
A time like that felt so far away. It felt as if he had taken it for granted. Dio didn’t have many regrets nor did he have them often but he wished that he somehow was able to spend more time with you before the mask.
“I have an idea.” Dio grinned, unable to hide his fangs at the thought of what he was about to do next. This was probably the most selfless thing he would ever do for you. It was worth it as a last ditch effort to save his relationship. Of course, he wouldn’t let you go. That’s not an option, unfortunately. But, he at least wanted you to be more happy in some way.
Dio left the castle once more, coming back home just to bother you again. It seemed as though you never left his room, not that he minded. You seemed to be immersed in a romance novel. The story told of a knight or warrior tasked with saving his princess lover from a distant kingdom holding her hostage with magic. Your perfect lips were curled into a perfect smile with your hand resting on your cheek, not at all acknowledging your husband’s presence.
“Ahem.” Dio cleared his throat, a sad attempt at getting your attention. The man only stood there, waiting for you to notice him so that he could finally do one good thing in this relationship. It wasn’t like him to so outwardly beg for attention like this…it made him sick. When he realized that it simply wasn’t working, he manifested The World, using it to remove the book from your palm. “Hey!” You shouted, your stand coming out and grabbing the other end of the book.
“What are you…?” You trailed off once you noticed what Dio had brought you. It was a bird, a beautiful one at that. It seemed to be a falcon, with brown feathers, and even an adorable scarf. It was bigger than any of the birds you had seen in the outside world. Any anger you held at this moment had vanished.
It was only natural for Dio to smirk at your doe-eyed expression, pure hatred turning into innocence and curiosity. “He’s all yours.”
The bird leaped from Dio’s arm, gliding to your shoulder. It landed with a unique weight but they weren’t too heavy. “Dio, where did you get this? Does he have a name?”
“I’ve decided that I like the name Petshop.”
At the sound of the name, your smile fell. “Really?” You asked flatly. Dio’s smile of self satisfaction remained. “Yes.” He replied, crossing his arms.
“O…Kay.” You averted your eyes from him and paid more attention to Petshop. He nuzzled into your cheek, making you giggle and filling you with joy. “My…” you smiled to yourself, admiring the creature before you. “I’ve never had a pet of my own before.”
Dio cocked his eyebrow. “Really? All that time you had by yourself and you didn’t have a pet of your own?”
You shrugged lightly at Dio’s question. “I didn’t have time to, surprisingly enough. I traveled a lot. No time for a pet.”
Petshop already seemed to be deeply in love with you as if it were charmed. Meanwhile, Dio had retrieved the book you were reading. His eyes skimmed the pages, not at all caring about you missing your place on the page. He interrupted your doting with a deep chuckle.
“The immortal princess and her immortal knight were alone at the inn, sharing one room and one bed as well. The princess encouraged her knight to sleep with her, as she didn’t think it was fair for someone who cared so deeply for her to sleep on the floor, servant or not. Unbeknownst to the young couple, they would engage in lewd acts.”
With an audible slam, Dio closed the book and placed it on a nearby table. You blushed deeply at his narration, his voice seemingly perfect for that type of literature.
“It’s just fiction, Dio.”
“It may be fiction, but it can also be your fantasy.” Dio made sure to observe your face as he spoke. “Out of all things in my library you choose to read, it’s this. I’ve always taken you as a woman of intelligence, not one of devious desires.”
You sighed. “Dio, it’s just a love story, nothing else.” Pet Shop left your arm, finding it better to rest on a nearby armchair instead. The bird paid no mind to you or your husband and found picking at its own feathers to be more entertaining. You watched in, almost, child-like awe at your new pet.
“Is it just a love story or are these things you’d like to happen to you?” Dio took a seat next to you on his bed. “I haven’t seen your face light up like that in a long time. I suppose that I’m correct.”
You audibly inhaled before softly exhaling. You clenched your first softly before speaking. “If this is about sex, I am not interested. You’re free to go out and sweet talk someone else.” You rolled your eyes, scooting away from him awkwardly.
“No.” Dio chuckled to himself. “You’re more than that. But, I did want to ask something else of you.”
“And what is that…?”
“Join me for a bath.”
You rolled your eyes. “I don’t need a bath.”
“I wasn’t asking.”
Now, you found yourself in a warm bath, drawn by a female servant that you’d never seen before. She looked like she was mine controlled, lusting after Dio and even you. Her eyes had a pink hue as she took your dress, her pale cheeks turned a rosy red once she witnessed your naked body most with bath water along with Master Dio’s. You couldn’t tell why but being worshiped did feel oddly satisfying, even if it were wrong. Being a servant, you weren’t appreciated very much, no matter how hard you worked. Even when you became wealthy, people still talked down to you.
“Does she need to be here the entire time?” You narrowed your eyes at the young woman who had been peeking from around the corner in the distance, not even realizing that you could tell she was there the whole time. Dio clearly had something to do with her behavior but that didn’t stop you from getting annoyed. You already didn’t want to be so close to Dio knowing how openly he sexualized you.
“Would you rather her be dead?” Dio smirked down at you but his eyes were looking through you and at the girl. You simply just blinked at him. Silent for only a moment, the sound of the water rippling was the only thing that could be heard.
“N-No.” You furrowed your eyebrows at him. You turned your head towards the girl. “Leave, girl.” You spat, almost sounding similar to how Dio would talk to women. Without even realizing it, his behavior would rub off on you. The action made his eyebrows raise with delight. When the girl scurried off, you sighed, feeling as though you probably should’ve talked to her differently given she was just a girl.
“What a good woman you’ve become.” Dio chuckled to himself. You only scoffed and rolled your eyes. “No thanks to you.” You replied, unknowingly shifting your weight to be reminded that you couldn’t move very much because of Dio’s size. As a form of intimacy, he forced you to bathe with him, making you wash his body as if you were his personal servant in a limited space. He wanted to believe he was treated much better than his younger self ever could but he would still toy with you. His favorite thing was being able to generate reactions from you. He loved being able to make you blush, moan, grunt, and cum. He may have been controlling but his behavior was relatively normal…for now.

I haven't seen much people talk about the wheel of fortune fight for Jonaplat yet and I'm just like???? There's just so much brainrot and angst potential in this because Jonaplat's already obvious pyrophobia and this project's into jotaro's feeling aswell. And even with Jotaro still escaping using his cloak trick but that still gotta hurt with fire being burned inside of you
like...that's gotta hurt....
and this might get jotaro himself atleast a little pyrophobia....
HEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEH YESSSSSSSSSSSSS
yesyesyesyesY E S
just. The whole time it happens Jonathan is loosing his fucking mind because neither of them had time to prepare. Things were fine and then they weren't and before they could blink the both of them were covered in a raging inferno that blazed and burned their skin without mercy. Burrowing underground was less of a thought out plan and more terrified desperation to escape from the heat any way they could
this is also going to add even more horror and fear on Joseph's end witnessing this happen, since right now he'd be the only person who knows just how scared Jotaro is of fire. Kakyoin, Polnareff and maybe Anne might've been able to pick up on how he seemed to have some kind of aversion to it, but only Joseph knows what happened in that jail cell. Only Joseph knows how Star Platinum had lashed out, eyes wide and unseeing and terrified, how Jotaro was on the verge of a panic attack, how since then his grandson had always kept a close eye on Avdol and Magician's Red and its flames when it was present
he knows how much fire scares Jotaro and he has to watch him nearly die by one of the things that scares him most
he definitely hovers around Jotaro for the next couple days, which Jotaro hates but is too shaken up (not that he'll admit it) to fully reject it. Jonathan is also on a hair trigger in the following days and will jump out for "protection" if so much as an unlit lighter or candle gets too close
Jonathan also takes REALLY good care of Jotaro's burns. Like, almost religiously. He knows some things that Erina taught him and he uses that knowledge combined with some modern stuff to make sure none of the burns get infected and stuff. This behavior honestly adds more to the "What The Fuck Is Up With My Stand" list in Jotaro's head, but there's no way in HELL he'd let anybody else treat these specific injuries so he lets it go

Hi!
I found more stuff of Jonathan from the 1985 king David movie!
Jonathan is this movie was played by JACK KLAFF, he was most famously in the Star Wars: a new hope as Red four/ John ‘D’. Mark Hamil played Luke in Star Wars and I bring this up because in ‘JOSEPH, THE KING OF DREAMS’ , Mark is the voice actor of Judah. And Judah is David’s ancestor.
The video links are from the movie:
David slaying Goliath, Jonathan is near the end and also in the background.
(Jonathan’s death is 3:38 to 4:30. David is also in it.)
(Pslam 23, Jonathan is at the beginning)
—
Also one of Jonathan’s descendants has the name Obadiah, and a guy of the same name has a book! I do not know if they’re the same because there are 5 ishmael’s in the Bible, one being Jonathan’s descendant and said Obadiah’s brother. Azel had 6 children, Azel is one of Jonathan’s descendants.
And also there’s a Jonathan in judges 17-18 that scholar’s deduce is Moses’s grandson. I bring this up because he was hired by a guy named Micah. Some rabbi think this Micah was the son of Delilah which makes me assume his dad is Samson and that must’ve had some emotional scars on Delilah if that is so. I know the prince’s psalm had a both Prince Jonathan and a Micah so looks like that paring was actually in the Bible.
And there’s a Jonathan in David’s mighty men! He is Jonathan, of the sons of Jashen but Chronicles replaced him with Jonathan ben Shagee the Hararite. But chronicals also deleted Bathsheba’s father from the list and even changed his name, but Uriah stays, Uriah will always stay.
Also I think it’s funny that Bathsheba is refereed to as ‘the widow of Uriah’ in the New Testament so David can never live it down.
I also found this a while ago!
The Bible in living sound
(It kinda gives ‘This is Jesus!’ Or that regular Sunday school stuff but it is almost brutally honest, especially the episode they covered 2 Samuel 21/22.)
Jonathan is in 111to 112 , and 118. 136 is where Mephilobeth is and he outright states that ‘David loved father!’ , so it wasn’t even hidden from the child. 138 is 2 Samuel 11 and David’s manipulation is radiating off him.
It’s also on Spotify and one of their many albums is Jonathan/King David, I know it was a pairing of certain audios but I think it’s funny knowing ship culture.
I know I’m super late in answering this, but I just need to say thank you for sharing more David Bible stuff with me. All the tidbits and details are super interesting, and I could eat that up all day long.

I wonder if they were close or if they even could have been close in the first place I wonder how long it took him to fall into obsession with his youth and I wonder if he let himself be a father or just a teacher. I think about their matching scarves. did he ever call her Liz? she parts her hair just like him. have you ever noticed how she parts her hair like him. he couldn't stand to be a grandfather. could he have been a father? Joseph still could have had a badass hamon wielding grandpa if being a grandpa didn't mean being old. “Jonathan's grandson” who “inherited these abilities from his grandfather” do you not think your daughter had anything to do with that? isn't she your daughter? does a part of you mean yourself? “how is Joseph Joestar doing?” like some kind of specimen. maybe you would know!!!
#jjba straizo#I'm really high tearing up in the shower over this#I want to know what he was like#I want to study him under a microscope

this is oneshot here will be different in the jojo world. Jonathan & Dio are alive thanks to hamon and vampire blood. nobody dies, dio’s not evil and jolyne, giorno and josuke are all around the same age in this. you are josuke’s mother in this <3
A Jojo Christmas, one. | Jojo’s x AFAB!Reader
You held onto the small boy’s hand as the two of you walked up the gravel path that led to the huge manor. in your other hand, you held onto the red wrapped present you and Josuke wrapped together. ‘Nervous?’ You asked looking down at the small boy, who nodded his head and never let your hand leave his. ‘Me too’ You admitted, looking at the blue door in front of you both, waiting to be let into the mansion.
It been years since you last seen Josuke’s father, Joseph. The two of you met in a bar in a popular town in Japan, you had just graduated from college and wanted to celebrate with a few of your classmates. As the party began to slowly end and your friends began to leave one by one, you couldn’t help but notice the older man sitting at the far end of the bar. You didn’t want him to be alone, so you decided to introduce yourself.
‘Birthday?’ He asked, sipping his cognac once you sat down next to him.
‘College graduation’ You replied and he nodded his head, finally placing his eyes on you. You took the opportunity to take in his features, the gray color that started to spread on his brown hair like wildfire, the nicely trimmed beard that sat on his face, and the hand that had no wedding ring on it. ‘Can I buy you a drink?’
‘Sure. I’ll have a wet martini, with a splash of pineapple juice. Swirl it to the left once and swirl it to the right three times. Hold the olive and give me a pineapple slice instead. Thank you’ You told the bartender, making Joseph widened his eyes. ‘What?’ You asked him, wondering why he was looking at you like that. ‘Nothing, I just never heard anyone order a drink like that’
One could say he was hooked onto you from there on, but you were hooked the moment you laid eyes on him. After that night at the bar, the two of you would hangout more; the budding friendship soon turned into romance. And on a rainy, warm evening; the two of you finally made love and that’s how josuke came into the world. You were excited to tell him about the pregnancy, but what he told you that day made you rethink everything. He was married and he had a daughter and a grandson, and that he would be flying back to America the following afternoon.
You didn’t try to stop him, he had a real family after all. Before he left for his flight, you told him the news. ‘I’m pregnant….goodbye Joseph’ And with a kiss on his cheek, you never saw him again after that. But, today would make the first time in years where you would be faced to face with him. You and your son were invited to the Joestar’s Annual Christmas Party by the speedwagon foundation and a Mr Jonathan Joestar. You had received a call a week ago inviting the two of you, they paid for your flight, hotel room, and the clothes you were going to wear for the event. Initially you were hesitant on going, but then you realized this would be the perfect moment for Josuke to meet the the rest of his family for the first time. So, here the two of you were; in the house of the richest bloodline to exist.
‘May i take your coats and the gift?’ The male asked and you nodded, handing him the present and your outerwear; revealing the outfits you both picked out for this occasion. You were wearing a red long sleeved dress, that hugged your figure beautifully. Josuke was wearing a deep navy blue suit that he picked out to wear; with a red tie to match you dress. ‘Care for a drink?’ Another servant asked, popping out of god knows where. ‘I’ll have a wet—‘
‘A wet martini, with a splash of pineapple juice. Swirled to the left once and swirled to the right three times. No olive and one pineapple’ The servant finished your sentence, handing the already made beverage for you. There was only one person who knew the way you liked your drink made, other than yourself. Did he remember that all this time? ‘And he’ll have—‘
‘Freshly squeezed orange juice mixed with Japanese sprite’ Josuke smiled brightly, letting go of your hand to reach for his favorite drink. ‘Thank you!’ He spoke, giving the male a toothy grin. You smiled at your son, before following after the butler who showed you the way to the living room where the other guests were. Now, you were starting to get even more nervous. When the two of you entered the room, all eyes were on you. ‘Was it a mistake coming here?’ You thought, looking at the eyes that were locked onto you both, before you caught a familiar set of blue one’s. Jotaro.
You had met Jotaro on a random day when Josuke was going on five years old. He knew about you because Joseph told him on a drunken night. He took the information that he knew to find you and his uncle. He was surprised to see how young his uncle was, but he still wanted to get to know him and you. He had spent a whole summer with you both, before he headed back to the states. You waved at him, before walking over to him and the little girl who hid behind his legs, with Josuke still right by your side. Giving him a hug, you reconnected for a bit before turning your attention to your son. ‘Josuke, say hello’
‘Hi…jojo….’ He called him by his nickname, before consuming the orange drink he received earlier. You giggled, then remembered the small child hiding behind her father’s legs. ‘Hi Jolyne’ You called out to the small girl, whom peeped her head out from behind her father’s legs. ‘Hi…’ She spoke, it was clear that she was shy and you thought it was adorable. She and Josuke has that in common. Jotaro pulled her from behind his legs, gently, and patted the top of her head; encouraging her to step out of her shell. ‘I like your pretty butterfly earrings’ You complimented, making her smile and blush. ‘Thank you! I like your dress! It’s so pretty!’ You beamed with excitement and thanked the small child, before remembering about your own small child.
‘Oh! Jolyne, this is Josuke! Josuke, say hello to your Great Niece!’ You patted your son’s back, also trying to break him out of his comfort zone. ‘Hi…do you like video games?’ He asked and Jolyne perked up and nodded her head. ‘My great grandpa has a bunch that I play! Want to see?’ Josuke’s purple eyes widened and he looked at you. ‘Can I?’ You looked over at Jotaro and he nodded, and reached out to grab both of the children’s hands. ‘I’ll watch over them. Go mingle, get to know this crazy family. You’ll be seeing them for a while’
You were now left with the wandering eyes, you could feel them sticking to your skin. You wanted to hide and find Josuke, but a friendly, cheering voice called your name.
‘Y/N! It’s so finally nice to meet you! I’m Jonathan Joestar!’ The tall buff male entered your vicinity with his who you find out was his wife, on his arm. The Joestar genes were strong, the man was beautiful. He gave you a hug and so did Erina. You’d never thought they’d be so welcoming and nice to you, being that you were their grandson’s mistress. ‘Thank you for inviting us! Your house is beautiful’ You complimented, earning a huge smile from Erina. She was the one who helped picked out the decor.
‘Where’s little Josuke? I would love to meet him?’ Jonathan asked, looking around to find your son. ‘Oh, he’s with Jotaro. Would you like to—‘
‘Excuse me, granddad and granny Erina, can I steal her away for a second?’ His voice flowed through your ears with ease, making your heart beat a little faster than before. It’s been six years since you heard his voice, let alone see him. The older couple looked at you, before you nodded you head with approval; letting him occupy your time. ‘Hello Joseph. It’s been a while’
He moved from behind you, letting you get a good look at how the years have done to him. His hair was no longer brown, and the salt and pepper hair that peeped through had took over. From the top of his head, down to his neatly trimmed beard; he was now grey. It was sexy. His old age looks good on him, you admitted to yourself.
‘You look good old man’ You complimented and he chuckled in response, before he reached out to hold your hand; which you let him do. ‘You look beautiful, even more beautiful then you were that day when we met’ He took at good look at your figure in the dress you were wearing, his eyes going over every curve that was outlined. ‘Thank you, Joseph’ You redirected his wandering eyes up to yours, flashing a smile at him. There was an awakard silence between you two before you decided to break it.
‘ I heard about the divorce. I’m sorry, I also played a part in it’
‘You don’t have to apologize for anything, doll. You didn’t know. I should be apologizing for leaving you alone. Raising our kid alone….’
‘you don’t have to apologize to me. You were married, you had a wife and a daughter. And although I was alone for sometime, Josuke had the best nephew/father figure in his life helping me raise him’ You said right in queue as Jotaro and the children came back to your side. Josuke ran up to the side of your leg, estancia about what Jolyne and his other cousin, Giorno, showed him.
‘Mommy! Grandpa has a lot of games! Like super mario and Pokémon! I love it here!’ He was practically jumping for joy, it made your heart swell. You leaned down to his height and kissed his cheek, before smoothing his hair down. ‘Josuke, there’s someone I want you to meet. This is your father’ His purple eyes landed onto his father’s tall frame, taking a look at the unknown man, before he decided to hide behind you. ‘Hello…dad.’

Would Jonathan's character be improved if he grew up poor or is fine as he is in canon? Curious about your thoughts.
i think for Jonathan's case him being from a rich family actually is important and a big theme that plays around in him and Dio's narrative. so i actually dont personally have anything to say about Jonathan but poor. i think i coULD be neat for a swap on the narrative of Jonathan being from a humble underclass family that after a serious of events between their fathers and whatever, Dio from a rich family loses everything and is brought 'down to their levels' like that. idk could be interesting also!
personally i just do really love rich boy but messy Jonathan who acts like he's one of the boys and is to an extent because when he brings speedwagon or anyone else around to hang out he's good for the classics but then will casually bring up something only rich families do and their like... ok moneybags lol
like i LOVE the idea of Erina being from a poor family i think it works really well with her and Jonathans narrative and the way she is. Also her and Speedwagon being like, bonding over being poor and teasing about Jonathan being richer than anyone around and not even relizing it togeather. so good
aLSO i hold so hard onto Erina who never could go back home to england due to trauma of the sea and boats and knowing her love and life in england is no longer waiting for her there. Her raising her son George and Grandson Joseph in an underclass home in new york? feels sooo fucking right to me. it just feels correct.

So…. Bloody Star AU part 2…. Gonna be a lot different from cannon. Still thinking about what exactly is gonna happen because Joseph can’t use hamon, and he will be fighting the pillar men, who are basically vampire eaters. So still thinking about this. So now I’m gonna focus on some facts of the battle tendency crew before getting into the heavy story stuff.
The way that the Jostar vampirism, is that they don’t become full fledged vampires when they become the same age of Jonathan (20) or when they sustain a major injury that only vampirc healing will give them any chance of living. Half vamps are able to walk in the sun although this is still a bad idea, they get more red then a cooked lobster in like half an hour, they also can’t use a majority of vampire abilities (lazer eyes, cold temp stuff like that) but they are still very dangerous.
Zeppeli helps raise Joseph, he often travels back and forth to see his own family to take care of them
Joseph is well known of being Erina, Speedwagon and Zeppeli’s guard dog
Joseph has a scarf like Straizo in the original story to protect him from hamon. He also has special hamon bracelets and ankles that are more designed to protect him from the sun working like a solar battery of sorts it’s not perfect but it’s better then nothing. These braces are his main weapon against other vampires, as they have hamon and sunlight infused in them. Since he isn’t full fledged yet he is able to use them without fear of beings turned to dust…. They still hurt like hell if he isn’t careful
Straizo plans to turn into a vampire after he kills Joseph, hamon is the best way to kill a vampire after all
After the fight with Santana, Joseph goes back to New York, Zeppeli goes to meet his grandson Caesar to end the rest of the piller men. This does not mean Joseph is safe, the cult of Dio is still out and about. Still more bro time with Smokey! More big city highjinks! 🌃
After the par of Zeppeli’s get their but kicked the elder Zeppeli took Caesar to Elisabeth Joestar to coach him. She does not need to hide her identity in this AU and she is actually apart of Joseph life…. This does not make her any less tragic, Gorge II is still died when Joseph was a baby. How he died I’ll tell later.
After about two weeks or more of training, he over hears his Grandfather and Elisabeth talking, hearing how her son is coming to visit, and how he shouldn’t be around hamon users because he’s a vampire…. This gets Caesar worried, he knew that his grandfather had some connections to Elisabeth, but the fact that he was dealing with her vampire son. The fact he was a vampire that everyone seemed to let loose and everyone let’s him do whatever he wants that is warranted for research. So he goes ahead of them back to the main island to find the vampire. He needs to be prepared for anything even this vampire.
What he wasn’t prepared for was the fact the vampire likes squid ink spaghetti and playing with the pigeons. Caesar didn’t know what to expect…. But it wasn’t that. The two do ultimately get into a fight, deal some blows to each other but it gets broken up by their family Members before it gets serious.
Elisabeth is scared of touching or being near Joseph, but they still make it work, shopping sprees are their best Mother-son bonding activity
Caesar gets a scolding from his grandfather, but in retaliation he asked why he was helping raise a vampire the very thing that killed his great grandfather, and was the creation of what killed his father. Figuring out it’s about time that his grandson knew he tell the tale of Jonathan and Dio… and what befell Joseph’s father. (Will write a longer story on this part)
During the shopping trip Joseph and Elisabeth come across Esidisi. He finds Joseph…. Very interesting and pokes at the fact that a legendary hamon user has a vampire son.
Ok I think that’s it for now…

Kiki my darling dear can you please explain to me the premise of. Whatever the fruity men with wild ass names is because I am going insane /silly lighthearted.
The premise of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure?
Oh boy
The explanation is going under this cut because of how long winded this will be
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is an anime series focused on a family, and their bizarre adventures, shocker. There are 9 parts, each focusing on a different member of the family, all of whom can be referred to by the nickname of JoJo. Part 9, JoJolands, has very recently just released its first chapter.
JoJo is welll known for being over the top, especially in the anime with the constant colour palette changes, ridiculous character designs and poses. And yeah, it does end up being extremely gay. This is evident in the often homoerotic dynamics the JoJo has with their "JoBro"
There's also a LOT of musical references, especially with Part 4 onwards.
Parts 1-6 follow one universe, with part 6 being reset by its main villain, causing a new universe. CONTRARY TO POPULAR BELIEF, this new reset universe is not parts 7-9. They are 2 separate stories about two separate Joestar families. The first 6 parts are this:
Part 1, Phantom Blood, is Jonathan Joestar, a young man in early 1900s England, who is the adopted brother of Dio Brando. Dio is evil as shit as a child, seemingly mellows out, until the pair of them are both about 19 or so, when it's revealed that Dio is still a power and money hungry little shit. He turns into a vampire and the part then becomes about killing him.
Part 2, Battle Tendency, is Joseph Joestar, Jonathan's 19 year old Looney Toon character (not even a joke, he deadass quotes Looney Toons) grandson, and starts in 1940s America before moving to Italy. He and his friend/JoBro Caesar Zeppeli are tasked with having to fight ancient Aztec Gods, the Pillar Men (yes, really).
Part 3, Stardust Crusaders, is Jotaro Kujo, Joseph's 17 year old deliquent grandson, as he, Joseph, Noriaki Kakyoin (the JoBro!), Jean Pierre Polnareff and Muhammed Avdol go on a 50 day cross contiental trip to Egypt to fight Dio in the late 80s. Yes, the same Dio. He's a vampire, ya know?
Part 4, Diamond is Unbreakable, is Josuke Higashikata (the kanji for the suke in his name can also be read as jo), Joseph's illegtimate 16 year old son in the summer of 1999 in Japan. He and his friends track down their local town serial killer, Yoshikage Kira, 33 years old, lives in the North East section where all the villas are-
Part 5, Vento Aureo, is Giorno Giovanna (Yes it's pronounced JoJo), the illegtimate son of Dio and Jonathan Joestar (it's GENUINELY not what it sounds like.) in 2001 Italy. He and his band of friends all named after Italian foods go on an adventure to kill the leader of the Italian mafia, Diavolo/Doppio Vinegar, in order to stop drugs being sold to kids.
Part 6, Stone Ocean, is Jolyne Kujo, the 19 year old deliquent daughter of Jotaro, and takes place in 2011 Florida. She and her friends break out of prison, save Jotaro and stop Pucci, a priest and follower of Dio, YES THIS GUY AGAIN, from resetting the world.
Those are the first 6 parts, and the first 6 JoJos. We then leave this universe, and join a completely new one. Important side note: Stands are only introduce in Part 3, with Parts 1-2 having this type of magical breathing named Hamon!
Part 7, Steel Ball Run, is Johnny Joestar, who is this universe's Jonathan, in 1890s USA. In order to regain mobility, he partners up with JoBro Gyro Zeppeli in order to win the Steel Ball Run horse race to learn the Spin and collect the corpse parts of Jesus Christ. He ends up having to kill the US President, Funny Valentine.
Part 8, JoJolion, is Josuke Higashikata, nicknamed Gappy, who is clearly this universe's Josuke in 2011 Japan. I never read JoJolion, so I'm not too familiar with the plot, but I do know that Gappy is actually two men. Like. He's a Steven Universe fusion of Yoshikage Kira and Josefumi Kujo. I'm not shitting you.
And now, we have the newly released Part 9, JoJolion! This is 15 year old Jodio Joestar, and we don't know much of the plot yet due to us having only one chapter. He seems to be this universe's Giorno, but maybe not a son of Diego Brando was ran over by a train. Apparently, it's the story of how he got rich. Right now, he's a drug dealer who was born in New Jersey and now lives in Hawaii in the present day with his sister (IDON'TCAREWHATARAKISAYSSHEISATRANSWOMAN) Dragona Joestar and his mother.
Something interesting to note is that the 7-9 JoJos are very much unlike their counterparts. Jonathan is a gentlemen, Johnny is a pretty selfish cold blooded killer. Josuke is a sweet kid, Gappy kills without remorse. Giorno resents drug dealers, Jodio is one.
So that's the premise for each part! I could go even more indepth, but I think this gets the point across. JoJo's premise is that it's a bunch of bizarre stories 2 families go through.
Anyways, part 3 is my favourite and my favourite character is Kakyoin ^-^ but my favourite JoJo is Johnny
#YOU ASKED FOR IT#winterly!!!#505 radio#also fun fact!#kika is my actual nickname#but i thought it'd be too hard to say right for english speakers#and i was inspired by jojo to anglicise it to kiki!#jjba

| Hi friends—
So under the cut here, I have an idea for a possible comic/fic I want to make. It’s regarding JJBA, specifically part 3 bc you know I love my boy Jotaro. It’s very long so that’s why it’s under a cut! It’s not fully fleshed out yet, so please forgive any vagueness or possible inconsistencies!
Also if you’re here from Discord hi I love you— |
My idea begins when DIO awakens. If I’m looking at the timeline right, it was around when Jotaro was 12. He started having very vivid dreams, most of them random but normal, besides being extremely vivid, and he could never control them. But when DIO began converting people to his cause like in Part 1— killing, making others into vampires/zombies, etc.— the dreams became nightmares. He stopped wanting to sleep, because he didn’t want to witness the horror anymore. He tried to tell Holly, but she couldn’t understand how he was having dreams this horrific and thought maybe he was being influenced at school. She listened, of course, but she didn’t know how to handle this situation on her own.
Holly took Jotaro to multiple doctors, and they told her they couldn’t figure out why he didn’t want to sleep, because he was otherwise healthy. Jotaro started becoming more irritable and hard to manage, but Holly didn’t want to push him by being too naggy, so that was why she was always so complacent with him.
(Note: As for why she didn’t contact the SPF or Joseph, I’m thinking his hatred of all things Japanese was part of her reasoning for not wanting to talk to him until after Jotaro went to jail— she thought it was more trouble than it was worth and that maybe it would be fine if she could figure out what was wrong.)
The twist here is that the dreams weren’t really dreams. I don’t think DIO needs to sleep as a vampire (at least not that much?) so what Jotaro was seeing was either memories (if DIO did sleep) or he was seeing exactly what DIO was doing as he was doing it, as a further connection to DIO having Jonathan’s body and using it for his own purposes.
He didn’t know anything about Stands until his own manifested, but I imagine he saw when DIO manifested The World and was confused, even though he still thought it was a dream. But when Star Platinum appeared, he just assumed that this was some kind of karmic punishment and didn’t want to risk hurting anyone else after how he’d beaten the group of men up— so that was why he didn’t want to leave the jail.
I haven’t gotten into how this would work further into the story except for a few small things. First, he’d vaguely recognize Avdol, as he would’ve seen him running from DIO in his dream, but the outcome of their fight remains the same— there’s a little more hesitance on Jotaro’s part to hurt Avdol, but he still chokes him and breaks out of the cell to get to him.
Second, when Joseph shows off his own Stand and shows the picture to Jotaro, it triggers something in him. He almost brings out Star Platinum to destroy the image, but he doesn’t since they’re in a public place. It takes a lot of prompting and pleading from Holly, but eventually he spits it out.
“I know it’s hard to believe, but… this man is the one I keep seeing in my dreams. He’s done so many despicable things. I’ve seen everything he’s done. He’s why I can’t sleep, why I don’t want to.”
It’s a very serious moment, but it still doesn’t stop Joseph from yelling that he can’t believe he’s spent so much money to break cameras when he could’ve just asked his own grandson to go to sleep for a bit.
It becomes a running gag at some points, too. “Jotaro, you need to sleep.”
“I’m not tired, leave me alone, old man.”
“We need to know DIO’s next move, dammit, now shut your eyes already!”
Of course the journey is still long and full of shenanigans, bc why wouldn’t it be? Eventually, though, like with Hermit Purple, DIO catches on. He starts doing things to deliberately torment Jotaro’s mind, taunts him about his mother, says he’ll take great pleasure in killing the Crusaders, and it becomes even harder for him to sleep. It takes more out of him every day, but the other Crusaders insist he needs to sleep, and they take turns watching him when he finally collapses to be sure to wake him if he gets too restless.
Anything further beyond this I’d need to develop more, but I like the idea so far.
A bonus twist for the end (completely optional): DIO could also see what Jotaro saw and kept it to himself until the final battle, meaning he knew all of their steps in advance and was just as confident he’d win as he was in canon… only for Jotaro to absolutely destroy him.
As another bonus, I can imagine when they’re fighting Death 13 that he’s unfazed and he’s just like “I’ve had worse nightmares than this.” and the other Crusaders become even more concerned.

A Matter of Hours and Minutes
‘How many hours till sunrise?’
Jotaro ran the question through sideways, front and back several times over; all the while, he refused to take his eyes off Dio’s body. Destroying the vampire’s head should have ended it, since everything from the neck down was Jonathan’s body.
No telling after what Dio did to Gramps, though. Sunlight was the only way to be certain.
Jotaro, mind still buzzing with unspent adrenalin and right fist still bleeding from that final punch, couldn’t make sense of the time of night. The World had shot his internal clock to shit. How many minutes did he spend in frozen time? One? Two? More than that? Every interval felt tortuously, impossibly longer than five seconds. Polnareff had struggled to explain the sensation, and Jotaro couldn’t blame him. It really was like being underwater, only someone else decided when–and if–you surfaced for air.
Let alone how many hours of night remained, how many hours had passed? They’d opened Dio’s casket more or less at sunset; nights were a little longer in Egypt than Japan.
Avdol… Avdol and the old man told them so more than once.
The sound of rotors suddenly interrupted his thoughts; reflexively, Star Platinum burst forward, still in stance for battle. Jotaro finally took his eyes off Dio, ready to cuss out anyone stupid enough to carelessly approach; he instead released a short breath on recognizing the name Speedwagon painted on the helicopter.
‘Good.’
Far better them than the cops; the chopper landed at the entrance of the bridge, blocking off any possible incoming traffic. The road roller behind him would act as a deterrent from that side.
Jotaro relaxed his fist. Star Platinum vanished.
One of the pilots ran out onto the bridge; his pace stuttered briefly on seeing Dio, but he kept his feet.
“Mr. Kujo,” he said. “Are you–?”
“What time is it?” Jotaro asked.
“Uh, time? A little after 6:00.”
‘Fuck.’
Jotaro’s mind went blank; a static ringing filled his ears.
An hour? He’d have sooner believed days had passed since the fight started, let alone since they set foot in Dio’s mansion.
An hour?
“… have lodgings arranged for you; one of our trucks should be here shortly.”
“Yeah.” Jotaro grunted; idle, mindless.
He blinked; shivered and shook off the shock.
“You know how to move this bastard?” He asked, glancing at Dio.
“You’d be surprised how much the Speedwagon Foundation emphasizes literacy on vampires.”
‘I doubt that.’
Jotaro nodded, flexing his injured hand; he stepped over Dio’s body before the pilot could ask any annoying questions about getting him checked out. He didn’t care about seeing a doctor, he just wanted to watch the fucker’s body disintegrate.
“We’re still looking for the rest,” the pilot said. “The trail you left was hard to miss. We’ve, ah… we’ve collected Mr. Joestar’s body; do you know what happened to the others?”
“Avdol, Iggy and Kakyoin are dead,” Jotaro recited; raising his voice over the helicopter rotors. He’d been avoiding thinking about Gramps, what he’d seen Dio do to his body. “Polnareff was alive last I saw.”
He paused now, though; thinking about what Dio took from Gramps, how many people he’d stolen from.
What he owed.
What he still had.
“Hey,” he said. “Bring the old man here; and get whatever you need to move that bastard’s body in the same truck. I’ll”
He stopped short; he’d been shouting so he’d be heard over the chopper.
The chopper was silent.
He swung around; everything was silent.
Expect…
The World!
“DIO!” Jotaro bellowed, charging back across the bridge.
“KEHAHAHAHAHA! CAN YOU AFFORD TO USE YOUR PRECIOUS FEW SECONDS THAT WAY?!”
Star Platinum roared into action, barreling ahead to meet The World fist to fist.
He managed less than half a rush before frozen time caught up to him.
‘FUCK!’
“I had never dreamed the Joestar blood would be so potent!”
Dio threw his head back, cackling.
“That even Joseph’s grandson, so far removed from Jonathan himself, could empower me with just a few drops of his blood!”
Jotaro, still frozen, cussed himself out; all this from the blood on his fist in passing?!
Dio leapt out of sight; the sound of snapping metal behind him. Half a rotor blade chopping down, stopping just short of his neck.
“Once I had believed Jonathan my greatest rival and most powerful enemy,” he said. “Now, in your final moments, rejoice knowing that I, Dio, bestow the same honor unto you!”
Cold steel left his neck; the heavy weapon slicing through the air.
‘MOVE, MOVE, MOVE DAMMIT!’
“DIE, JOTARO!”
— — — — —
Jotaro flew out of bed; knuckles white, feet beneath him before he took a second breath.
Blood racing between his ears, he pivoted on his heels, searching; Star Platinum already manifested with cocked fists.
Nothing moved. The only other body in the room was three sizes too small to be Dio.
‘Mother.’
Except… she wasn’t moving.
He didn’t hear any breathing either.
“Hey!” He barked, kneeling and taking her arm. “Mom, wake–!”
Stillness. Unnatural. But not cold.
Jotaro looked back at Star Platinum. Willed his Stand to relax. Murmured.
“Time moves again…”
Holly Kujo shivered in her sleep; mumbled, rolled toward him.
Seeing her at peace let him draw what felt like his first breath since waking.
The dregs of his nightmare slowly lost its grip on his mind. Memories of the last twenty hours filled in gaps and wrote over the horror of his own demise. Gramps revived, Polnareff went back to France; most important, they watched Dio turn to dust in the Egyptian sun.
His mother’s recovery was miraculous, even by the standards of the doctors from Speedwagon. She and Granny were there to greet them at the airport. She’d insisted on sharing the room with Jotaro, just for the night; something about having missed him for the past fifty days made her clingier than usual. Never mind that she’d probably spent most of that time out of her mind and deliriously ill.
With the understanding that it would never happen again, he conceded her one night.
Jotaro stood up and quietly crept past her; his pajamas were sweaty, inviting a chill from the cool January night.
A soft murmur in the living room distracted him in route to the kitchen. The gentle glow of the television leaked through a crack in the door.
“Gramps?”
“Ahh shush shshshshhh!”
Joseph Joestar shushed him, though his shushing was louder than the actual TV; the volume was set just shy of muted. On screen, Superman was pulling Lois Lane out of a torpedo. Jotaro slid the door shut behind him.
“Can’t sleep?” Jotaro asked, pre-empting what he expected would be the same question from Gramps.
Gramps sighed, mechanical hand parting his hair.
“Saw no reason your grandmother had to stay up with me,” he said with a shrug. “Jet lag’s more of a bitch than I remember.”
Uncharacteristically, he let his comment hang there with no addendum or follow up.
“Yeah,” Jotaro murmured, silently taking the out being offered. “Yeah, it is.”
Gramps let out a dry, grunting laugh.
“Well,” he said. “One or two all-nighters won’t kill you at your age.”
He tapped the tatami mats beside him; an invitation.
Jotaro slumped onto the floor and sprawled his legs out in front of him.
“Change it over to Dirty Harry.”
Gramps scoffed, indignant; he nonetheless got up to swap out the VHS.
“No respect,” he grumbled. “Bullying his dear grandfather into giving up his cartoons.”
Jotaro huffed.
Tick. Tick. Tick.
In the silence between one tape coming out and the other going in, the hanging clock’s gears grated on Jotaro’s ears. In a flash, Star Platinum had it down off the wall and emptied of its batteries; he left the clock face down on the floor in the far corner of the room.
Gramps didn’t say a word about it. Just sat back down and produced a can of beer from behind his back.
“Not a word to Holly or your grandmother.” He all but hissed.
Jotaro took the beer with a smirk.
“They’d scold you, not me.”
“That’s exactly why I said keep it to yourself, punk.”
Jotaro shook his head, depressing the tab on the can as Clint Eastwood stared down the first crook of the film.
He remembered learning that dreams–even those that felt long enough to live a lifetime–only lasted a few seconds, up to a minute in the waking world. He had school in a few hours, but he didn’t care; he wasn’t interested in fighting Dio or any of his fanatics again, dream or otherwise.
And he didn’t want to even think about time for a long while.

genre: angst/fluff (mentions of smut, no details)
joseph visits caesar every year for his birthday, yet each year, the goodbyes get easier and easier
published: 2020
song: young and beautiful - lana del ray
Joseph sat on the ground, squinting at the sunny, cloud laced sky. It was a particularly beautiful day, and he was glad he chose to meet Caesar then. He played with the grass and walked around, picking a bouquet of flowers for his best friend, and the one he loved the most. They've always's known it was right for them to be together, but the rest of the world thought differently. They may not be together in this life, but they will be in the next.
Joseph smiled when he spotted the other man sitting in the shade of a large white jasmine tree. He waved and sighed when sitting in front of him.
"I'm too old to be picking you flowers," Joseph laughed, rubbing his back and placing the bouquet on the ground between them. He appreciated the beautiful smile on the blonde's face, sunlight speckled across his nose and high cheeks, his signature markings highlighted by the nearly white locks of hair hanging off his forehead. Caesar didn't talk much now, but Joseph didn't mind. He never understood how Caesar avoided aging, he didn't look a day past 20, yet here they were, celebrating his 71st birthday in secret. He even had a special glow to him, as if made of gold.
"You still look as perfect as ever... I really missed you, Caesarino." Joseph grinned mischievously at the face he received from the older man. Caesar snorted and shook his head, then turned his attention back to Joseph, who knew what he wanted to hear.
I've seen the world, done it all
Had my cake now
Diamonds, brilliant, and Bel Air now
"I almost didn't get to make it this year," he admitted. "I went around the world, Caesar! I saw Japan and even Egypt!"
Caesar's eyes widened, then he furrowed his eyebrows.
"We- Well, my grandson, his schoolmate, a French guy, a dog, an Egyptian friend of mine, and I had to travel to Egypt to save Holly. There are these things called stands," Joseph paused to breathe. "-and you get sick when developing one, but Holly wasn't doing well at all. So we went to Egypt and ended up battling Dio! Oh- Don't look at me like that! I'm not kidding," he giggled.
"Really, I'm not! He stole grandpa Jonathan's body! Yeah, that's what I said," Joseph responded to Caesar's wide eyes and head jerk forward. "It was crazy as hell, man!"
The two laughed together as Joseph leaned his back against the tree and Caesar laid his head on the younger's shoulder.
"We lost the schoolmate, my Egyptian friend, and the dog, but they fought hard... yes, I know, I know I can deal with it but I'm not sure about Jotaro... He lost three good friends at 17, it's hard just losing one..."
They sat there in silence until Caesar turned his face up toward Joseph's with a nostalgic glint in his eyes. Joseph happily sighed and looked up toward the sky.
Hot summer nights, mid-July
When you and I were forever wild
"Do you remember when we were young? The way we would- Okay, I won't say it," Joseph gave in to the blonde's stern look, but couldn't help reminiscing.
During the night, the empty, gaping hall grows still like a machine that's powered down. The bright airiness of Roman days fade, and darkness falls over like a downy comforter. All that's left is the low oil lamp lighting that throws short, yellow ochre beams across the polished floor, reflecting in some of the antiqued oak and glass cabinets. Not even a breeze disrupts the papers stacked upon the dusty lacquered desk, yet the slightest thought of movement momentarily blocks the low light, as a sheer swirling mist, with its soft, blurred edges, seeps through microscopic pores in the wall. The sort of movement that's seen on the ill-defined peripherals of anthropoid vision, the kind that breeds insomnia-instigating insinuations of monsters lurking in the dark, towing shadows along as if they weren't immovable.
Joseph and Caesar stop in the shadows, their bodies shifting to solid in a sudden, dizzying rush. They press back against a cold stone wall deeper in the darkness, where it would have been absolute, save for the warm, dusty hue cast by the hanging oil lamp. Joseph closes his eyes, Caesar focusing on who, or what, could be emitting the unnatural pulsing. It was like ripples, ocean waves through the seemingly solid marble floor, vibrating under their feet, up through their bones and coming to a rest as a dull rumbling in their chests, their heads. They looked at one another in terror — Would they be caught? Surely Lisalisa and Suzie Q couldn't be awake at this hour — and attempted to calm themselves.
They stole out into the darkened, marble-laced rotunda which marked the centre of the building, the towering, vaulted ceiling gaping like an empty void, a black hole overhead. Silvery slants of moonlight pierced the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting a magnified cross-hatched spotlight on the shivering teens. They gave it no more than a glance as they slipped past and out of the building with nothing more than the wind off the aged quilts they carried with them and the slight murmur of their bare, worn-out feet on the marble.
Giggling to one another, they ran across the courtyard and into the dark, yet comforting woods. Caesar grabbed Joseph's hand and guided him to a clearing, where they would lay for the next hour staring at the stars and talking about everything and nothing all at once. Falling in love could no longer explain this. This was like being flown into love at Mach 1, ear-splitting, eye-catching love.
"Joseph?"
Joseph turned to the moonbeam bathed boy laying next to him, raising an eyebrow and smiling.
"I... I think-," he sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "I think- Joseph, I think I'm in love with you."
"You mean that?"
"I have been for a while, I just... tried to forget it. I'm sorry if this ruins our-"
Joseph leaped across the quilt, pulling Caesar into an intense, yet gentle kiss. He slid one hand into the other's soft, light hair, and softly placed the other on his chest. The kiss seemed to last for hours, their lips tingling as they pulled away and snickered quietly, foreheads pressed together. Caesar pulled the other quilt over them, the night breeze becoming a nuisance. They shared many soft kisses, before Joseph spoke.
"Do you want to- you know-? Tomorrow isn't promised, especially not now, and I want to give you all of me..."
Caesar nodded. "Come here."
Sloppy, uncoordinated kisses, tongues and lips crashing together, nervous touches, reassuring words, awkward attempts to be comfortable, shaking bodies, nerves begging to be lit on fire for the first time. Clothes hitting the dew-covered grass, hot, rapid breaths mingling with cool, steady breezes, locked eyes, comforting caresses. Slow, gentle movements, quiet, desperate noises piercing the air, tight grips, clasped hands, declarations of love, beautiful forms, coming together as one under the stars. Nothing had ever felt so good, so right, in every sense of the word.
The crazy days, city lights
The way you'd play with me like a child
Even the worst training days were better with one another. When they finally got to eat, they sat in the floor of Joseph's room and talked as if they were lifelong friends. Caesar ate slowly, and Joseph ate quickly. Both were nowhere near messy eaters, but the blonde tended to have to wipe his chin down more often than the brunette, mostly due to Joseph's flirtatious antics.
The wildest cities seemed much tamer when they were together. They could tackle anything, they were the definition of a superior team. When Caesar would describe his idea of an adventure to Joseph it would send chills down his spine, make his body tingle. He wanted to backpack his way across India, sail up the Nile in a small wooden boat and keep a journal of it all, trek through the dense Amazon and climb the towering Mount Everest. He wanted to explore rural China, dog sled in the arctic, tour all of Russia and deep sea dive. Joseph's idea of adventure was trying a new supermarket with Granny Erina, a different café in the city, or a new outfit.
Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful?
Will you still love me when I’ve got nothing but my aching soul?
Joseph flipped through the wonderful memories in his mind as he rested his head upon Caesar's shoulder.
"Caesar?"
The blonde turned his head toward Joseph.
"Do you still... do you still love me?"
The other flashed an angelic smile and nodded.
"I'm glad, I feel the same."
Caesar ran a soft, warm hand through Joseph's graying hair as the two drifted off to sleep.
I know that you will
In their deep sleep they become young again. They dream of things past, things that will never be again. In Caesar's dreams he has comfort, freedom and love. Sometimes Joseph can be visited by those he lost. For those perfect hours of sleep, Joseph and Caesar are whole once again. Sometimes Joseph has nightmares, but those are getting fewer and far between now that life has settled back into a rhythm. Joseph truly looks forward to turning in at night, he has thick duvets and the finest pillows, everything luxury. Not to mention, it's just one more way he can see Caesar, be it real or fake.
I've seen the world, lit it up as my stage now
Channeling angels in the new age now
When Joseph woke up, he was laying down next to Caesar with his head on his chest. They stayed there for a moment, just savoring one another's company.
Joseph snorted quietly. "You know the last time we got to spend some actual time together was before we fought the Pillar Men... I've missed this."
Caesar nodded and looked down, lifting Joseph's chin and planting a gentle kiss on his lips.
Hot summer days, rock and roll
The way you'd play for me at your show
It was the hottest summer on record in Italy, yet Lisalisa had them training harder than ever. Heat licked at Caesar's sunburned face and coiled around Joseph's limbs like a great, hungry hot-blooded serpent. The ground smoldered and sent up a disorientating haze, as if looking through water. Even the birds overhead were silent and the grass stood still as if too hot to move. The one day they had a break, they decided to go find a small lake or creek to cool off in, anything to get away from the heat. They ended up water fighting like children and slowly kissing one another in the shallows, taking advantage of the privacy. They sang their favorite songs and danced with each other, which is such a freeing feeling after the hardships of training.
And all the ways I got to know
Your pretty face and electric soul
And there Caesar sat, with his feet in the clear, cool water, drinking in the radiant heat of summer. He let his eyes close in a way that appears restful, as if inviting, calling Joseph to imagine what his daydreams consist of. In that way, with such calmness, collectiveness of souls, content to dwell in that ever memorable moment, that they felt the joy of each other's company. Joseph stares at the blonde, a stupid look on his face, giving away how hard he had fallen. He looked away for a second and he found himself falling backward into the creek, Caesar having tackle-kissed him.
When he comes, tell me that you'll let him in
Father, tell me if you can
Caesar used to pray each night, and every night he would ask God to save them both a seat in the clouds, next to one another. He thought about death a lot, much more than normal because of the situation they were in. After he'd pray, he would smuggle cigarettes and beer into Joseph's room, and they'd go to the roof. Staring at the stars and sneaking drunk touches and smoky kisses, talking about their future together, holding hands and playing footsie, giggling like children. Times like these, when the world wasn't ending or they weren't fighting for their lives are the times Joseph would cherish forever.
He's my sun, he makes me shine like diamonds
It always amazed Caesar how happy and carefree Joseph stayed, even in old age. He often thinks about the summer in Rome, how beautiful Joseph looked in the radiant, deep glow of the sunsets, how perfectly his hair caught his bubbles. He was proud to be the man who made such a perfect man smile and laugh like never before. Just the thought of it made Caesar shiver with pride and love. Joseph was more than just a friend, more than a lover. He was Caesar's world, a spot no one before him had been able to fill.
Will you still love me?
Conversations neither of them had ever considered having with anyone else, conversations they wouldn't even have with themselves.
"Jojo?"
"Yeah?"
"Would you still love me even if we don't win this fight?"
Joseph grabbed his arm. "Caesar. I will love you until the end of time."
Will you still love me?
"Are you still going to love me when I'm not as pretty?"
"Caesar, I promise I'm always going to love you. Always," Joseph cooed, running his hand through the other's soft blonde hair.
Will you still love me?
Joseph opened his door to find a crying, shaking, anxious Caesar carrying his pillow. The Italian dropped the thin cushion and latched himself onto Joseph as if his life depended on it.
Joseph wrapped his arms around the blonde. "Hey, what's wrong?"
Caesar said nothing, he only began sobbing, clinging harder to Joseph than before. He tried to take in a normal breath, but could only get sharp gasps and wheezes out.
"Come in here," Joseph pulled him into the room. "Go sit down, I'm gonna get your stuff for you."
Joseph picked the pillow up and grabbed a blanket and a water bottle on his way to his bed. He tossed that stuff at the foot of the bed and climbed up next to Caesar. It was dim, as all the lights were out, but Joseph could see the other's form. He pulled the other into his chest, laying them both down and slipping the comforter over them.
"What happened, love?"
"N-Nightmare- You we- weren't there- I-" Caesar began to sob again, a cry of absolute pain leaving his throat. Joseph held him against his chest tightly and stroked his back, reassuring him softly.
"It's just a nightmare, it won't hurt you. I'd never let it."
The older boy just nodded and pulled him as close as possible, holding tightly to his shoulder blades and breathing in his scent. Something about that smell, that body, just makes him feel safe and secure.
"J-Jojo?"
"I know what you're thinking and my answer is yes. I will always love you."
Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful?
Joseph grinned at Caesar when he finished thinking, planting a kiss on his cheek. He was full of joy, until his grandson's beat up SUV could be seen making its way through the field.
Jotaro climbed out of the car and beckoned for Joseph. The old man stood up with some trouble, bones popping like bubble wrap.
The blonde looked up at him, gaze full of love. "I have to go soon..."
He pulled Caesar into a strong hug, beginning to tear up.
"Gramps, come on- What are you doing?"
"Telling Caesar goodbye. I won't get to see him for a while."
"There... There isn't anyone there."
"Okay, great one funny guy. He's right here."
Will you still love me when I got nothing but my aching soul?
Joseph hugged him tightly one last time before leaving. He wiped the tears from his cheeks as he stood up, bending down to kiss Caesar one last time for the year.
"Goodbye Caesarino, I'll see you next year. I love you. I always will," Joseph muttered shakily before stepping back, watching the grand, marble tombstone lose it's magnificent lustre as Caesar's angelic form disappeared, materializing into golden bubbles before floating away.
Joseph observed how the bubbles floated away before turning to his grandson.
"Let's go home, Jotaro." He began walking toward the car, but just before reaching it, a gust of wind hit him from behind. Joseph whipped around as fast as an old man possibly could. In front of his face sat a large, golden bubble with a replica of Caesar's headband inside. Gingerly, Joseph reached out to grab it, and once in his hands, it popped.
The man let out a choked sob as he held the headband against the side of his face. Immediately he wrapped it around his head and turned his face up toward the sky, smiling.
"Thank you, Caesar. Remember, forever." A couple tears slipped from Joseph's eye as he climbed into the passenger seat.
I know you will, I know you will
"Jotaro, have you ever loved someone? Someone you couldn't have?"
Jotaro gave him a side-glance. "Why are you asking?"
"I just don't want you to make the same mistakes I did," Joseph said, taking a deep breath. "If you love someone, don't let anyone stop you from being together. Please."
Jotaro harshly breathed out of his nose. "I think it's a little too late for me. But what are you even talking about?"
Joseph furrowed his eyebrows and looked out of the window at the passing landscape.
"I fell in love with someone I wasn't allowed to have. We snuck around in secret up until the day-," Joseph closed his mouth and bit his lip, taking deep breaths in.
"Gramps- You don't have to keep going, I think I understand."
"Thank you," Joseph looked over at his grandson. "It still hurts even now... Which is why I'm worried about you-"
"I'm fine." Jotaro quickly shut himself down, he didn't want to talk about his own feelings on the subject. "But are you fine?"
Joseph sighed and touched the replica headband on his head. "I am now."
Will you still love me when I'm no longer beautiful?
Each year on Caesar's birthday, Joseph was there, in the same spot. He talked to him throughout the year but this was the only time he could see him. He picked a bouquet of wildflowers, he sat next to the grave, and kissed the tombstone before he left, promising to be back. The last time he departed however, at the ripe age of 91, he kissed the large marble slab and said, "See you soon, Caesar. I still love you, by the way," before Jotaro walked him back to the car.
Later that year, Joseph Joestar passed away peacefully in his sleep. He woke up in a strange room, where a woman was waiting.
"Oh, finally! Can you tell me your name sweetheart?"
Joseph smiled awkwardly. "J- um- Joseph Joestar... Where am I?"
"The welcoming room for the afterlife! Here is where you would normally be given a place to stay and meet your friends, but I believe you already have a home!"
Joseph furrowed his eyebrows. "Huh?"
"You already have a house! Someone requested you live with them," she smiled.
He shook his head in amazement.
"Are you ready?"
Joseph nodded, a grin covering his restored face. He was 18 again, and he felt amazing.
The woman walked him out of the door and the first people he laid eyes on were the crusaders that had passed.
"Avdol! Polnareff! Kakyoin! Iggy!"
"Who-?" Kakyoin and Polnareff whipped around, but didn't recognize him. Iggy stood still until Avdol charged forward.
"JOSEPH!" The two held onto each other, and once the others realized who he was, they too joined the hug.
"Mr. Joestar! You look so young!"
"Thank you, Kakyoin, you're very kind."
"So you really DID look like that in the 1940s... wow," Polnareff's mouth dropped open in awe as he circled Joseph, who was holding Iggy, trying to get his used to his younger form.
"JOJO! JOJO!"
The crusaders began to look around for Jotaro, yet when they turned back around, Joseph was sprinting full speed at a blonde they had never seen before.
"CAESAR!" Joseph tackled the older man, their lips colliding, and their bodies immediately attaching to each other. They cried tears of joy until they heard a woman's scolding and a man's laughing.
"Joseph! Have some manners!"
"Get a room, lovebirds!"
"G-Granny Erina! Speedwagon!" Joseph got up and ran to them, grinning from ear to ear.
"Jojo, do you wanna see your house?"
Joseph nodded, looking over at the blonde. He waved goodbye to his family before turning his attention back to Caesar. They locked hands and the older man led Joseph through beautiful cobblestone streets and colorful houses before turning into the driveway of a small, light blue house. Caesar opened the door and pulled Joseph in.
"Welcome home," he said, smiling brightly.
"Where- Where do you live?"
Caesar smirked. "That's the thing... you get to deal with me forever~"
"I have no complaints," Joseph laughed, kissing the other softly, running a hand through his blonde hair.
Joseph used to fear dying, but now, he'd rather be dead than anything. There's nothing he would take to leave this place. He was finally where he was meant to be; Caesar's arms. And once again, both have been returned to their original forms, once again young, beautiful, and in love.

Totally did not plant a whoopie cushion when he had the chance on Jonathan's seat. Granny Erina would skin him alive for this but that's only IF she knew and right now it was just him and his grandfather. Mischievous eyes watched and waited, although the sheer fact he could see his now living blood relative alive and well brought a bittersweetness to the beats of his heart. The impish smile on his face dampened for a small bit, thinking back to how sad Granny Erina felt but she always spoke of Jonathan like the light of her life and by god does he understand what she meant now that he stood in the presence of the man himself.
But, before that sad sap of a thought could go on; Joseph's eyes lit up and a quick usher to calm his smile into one that wouldn't be suspicious slapped itself over his brazen features.
" Hey Gramps, I got a little something to say buuut first I believe you'd best take a seat~ "
A struggle it was to keep his composure, sitting ever so 'innocently' as he heard the fruits of his prank and bellowed out in a fitful laughter.
" Happy Birthday! "
Jonathan’s bday asks 【temporarily accepting】 @gazelessmenagerie
This whole opportunity he had been given, a new chance in life some would even call it... It was so strange to some extent. Knowing and being fully aware that he was in some way 'cheating death' and living longer than what he was supposed to... He wasn't sure if this was going to be permanent and he'd be able to live long enough to grow old, or if this would be something temporary and the effect might wear off at some point when he got back home. It was... perhaps better not to think about it.
A relief it was when he heard Joseph's voice, calling him and getting his attention. It was quite outstanding to him just how full of energy he always seemed to be around him. Not the norm in his time, not among the uptight wealthy and rich, as Jonathan was accustomed to see, but definitely a change he welcomed with open arms, having been a bit of a rowdy boy himself in his childhood.
"Ah! Yes. What is it?" He then inquired, curiosity turning into a bit of concern when he's presented with the suggestion of sitting down to hear whatever it was Joseph was about to inform him. "Is everything alright?"
But, of course, the only 'answer' he got for his question was a... quite unique sound that echoed in the room as soon as he sat down on the cushioned chair.
A fart. It was without a doubt a fart. Loud and clear. Turquoise eyes widened and his mouth hung open a little as he froze for a second. It was like seeing a deer caught in the freaking headlights. The man turned beet red with embarrassment. He knew it wasn't his but, given that the sound unequivocally came from his chair's direction it would definitely make the younger Joestar think he was the culprit.
"Oh dear!" The words came out of his mouth as soon as his mind caught up. He looked at Joseph with a mix of shock and embarrassment.
"T- That wasn't me! I swear!" He quickly explained, visibly terrified of what his grandson would think of him. That terror immediately became confusion as Joseph burst into a fit of laughter.
Apparently, Jonathan hadn't caught up with the fact that this was, indeed, a prank. A birthday prank.
#[somewhere in the distance speedwagon is laughing his ass off at this whole silly prank]#[i have no proof but i have no doubts either]#[ ''good lord jojo! that ain't very polite!" ]#[he'd then lecture joseph a bit later and be like 'lol don't do that again' as not to enable further pranking on jonathan tho]#[fdgfhgFDGFHJKjlk]#[joseph not wasting time and playing pranks on jona right after meeting him in person is probs the most joseph thing ever and i love it]#;answered#;jonathan answers (( asks ))

Ho boy, this is a big one
I really wanted to tell you about this AU but It's kinda incomplete and I was scared that you might not like it and then I lost my chance when you closed the ask box. During that time I came with the courage to share this and with your ask box open again I finally can (and I've written so much that I almost tried rewriting but I will keep this version because I can't take it doing all from the start)
So prepare yourself, this is going to be long
But first, you might be asking yourself "Alice, what is this AU about anyway?" and I'm glad you asked! Basically the whole AU rotates around some of the Jojo moms I like the most or that I just wanted to see more about and my objective is that I pick them up and make them more relevant for the plot in some way by putting more of motherly love in there
Listen, I'm just a sucker for mothers in media and how much they can go for their children or family in general. It makes me happy and emotional
Ah! There's the name for the AU too! I'm still indecisive about that but I have two names that can work. "Mother Knows Best" or "What Would A Mother Not Do", but you still can give your two cents for a name, I don't mind!
Now let's start by going through parts
For Mary and Ida I had a bunch of different ideas, most of centered in them being ghosts and becoming friends and trying their hardest to make the plot not happen, but that could change a lot in the main story and I prefer to go mostly the same until the big changes can come. If you still like the ideia we can try and make a separate AU for this
Now Erina is we're things start getting interesting. She is not just a mother but a grandmother too and she lost both her husband and son, she will not lose her grandson too. And so, with the little that she learned from Jonathan and with a helping hand from Speedwagon, she teaches Josehp. She teaches him in basics of Hamon, she teaches him other ways to protect himself, she teaches tricks and ways to get the upper hand, she teaches how to defend himself, when to get in the middle of the fire and when he needs to call for help. And in a way she teaches herself too. Because even when she gets older she stills want to protect Joseph, she stills wants to be strong, for him and for herself
And maybe, just maybe, when Joseph has to go to Air Supplena she thinks if this is the moment that she let's him go or if she should... but she's old now, right? Not the same woman she was years ago. But she stills knows the same tricks and ways, she's still smart, if not more now. And she loves her grandson so much and fears what will happen to him now that he will be so far from home, going against who knows what
And after a lot of thinking she decides. No matter what happens she wants to be by his side. Even if she can't do much, even if she dies, she will be there. For Joseph
(This is literally the first mom and it's already so long omg)
And there's Lisa Lisa too in here, but she was always more difficult for me because of her history and personality. But, not gonna lie, I always loved the idea that she really wanted, if not yearned, to get closer to her son but after she distanced herself and got colder with time she thought it wouldn't work out. Maybe she wrote letters though, letters that told that she was very busy and wasn't able to visit, that told small memories of when Joseph was just a baby, that told memories about his father, that told how much she loved him even then. And a letter that never got sent, about her insecurities and lack of courage to go after him and look him in the eye
And maybe when Joseph and Erina comes she gets that fear again. Because he's here and he's grown and she lost so much. But Erina is there, understands her fear and her hesitancy, and gives her a advice. It's better to tell now than never, make up for the years that you lost and help him, stay on his side. Now that's you chance for that. And so, with a heavy heart but a clean mind, she pulls Joseph for a lone talk. Maybe it turns alright or maybe not, but she knows now, that the least she can do is help him thrive and be on his side
After all is said and done Lisa Lisa still maintains her Hamon training, for herself and Joseph, just incase. And maybe she helps Erina a little, enough for her to live a little longer to see Joseph's marriage and meet little Holy. And even after she passes Lisa Lisa continues. She stills cold and stern, even as grandmother, but she teaches Holy anyway
Suzie teaches Holy about kindness and compassion, but to know her limits and when enough is enough, while Lisa Lisa teaches her about power and protection, but to know that to much strictness (or distance) can do more bad than good
And because of that Holy grows with a sharp mind and a heart of gold. Kind and gentle, but protective and fierce for her family
And so, when years later stands are introduced and Dio reappears again she puts all her knowledge through the years into play
This time she is less affected by her stand (courtesie of Lisa Lisa) and sure, sometimes she gets dizzy here and there and maybe a little feverish, but do you think this is going to stop her? No, far from it. She wants to help end this family curse and she wants to protect her family, so why not go? Her father can resist how much she wants, she will go. Sadly, she cannot stop Jotaro from coming, he is just as persistent as her and he wants to protect his mom just as much
And so they go. She may not be the strongest in the group but she's just as useful, with a stand and Hamon and her family on her side she feels invincible. And who knows? She might get some allies along the way (no this is not a excuse to have Hol and N'Doul on the group what are you talking about)
By the end of the part Dio dies and there's relief on her body, mind and soul. Her stand doesn't make her dizzy after hours of using anymore and maybe there's some scars here and there, but they're safe, they're fine and she's happy. So happy
But it doesn't end here! Tomoko may not be as connected at the family (on the start), but she's still a mother. A single mother trying her best to take care of her son and balance her life at the same time. A mother who knows how difficult it can be raising a little boy like Josuke and knows how difficult it's to him and her when everyone looks and whispers about them like they're not even there. Things get better with time but it still doesn't make her less protective of her son
Now here's the thing. Tomoko always knew that Josuke was special. Even before having a stand, when she saw the star birthmark on his tiny shoulder she had the felling that a lot would happen in Josuke's life. It took some time for something to happen, but she's was right
So when strange things started to happen after Josuke's illness, talking to himself, broken things getting fixed out of nowhere, weird questions about some imaginary friend (?), she just knows that he is hiding something and she's not just going to sit and watch. During a rainy weekend is when she decides to question him about it and really, she could wait for him to come talk to her about it but knowing her son he could never do that
And after a long talk (and a broken plate being fixed right before her eyes) she tells him "I believe you". Because really, how could she not? She had the truth right there and she was always going to believe her son. But Tomoko makes it clear that if he needs help or just want to talk about his new companion she is always going to be there for him
With time things became normal again, but sometimes it almost feels like she has two kids instead of one
Years after, when the plot of part 4 actually starts, you seriously think Tomoko will just stay on the sidelines and watch her son pass through all of this by himself? Of course not! She may not have a stand but she still can help in her own way
And maybe, just maybe, at some point in the plot, she could get hit by a stray arrow too. I'm not sure what kind of stand she could have, but thinking about the fact that she can be more helpful in the story and finally see and touch her not-so-second-son gives me immense joy
I did thought if Shinobu could be here too but I don't really have a solid idea for her. If you have something to give though I'm all ears
And I'm 100% sure that you're not going to expect this next one! But I don't judge you for that because the fandom don't exactly do much involving her when she was already dead before the plot, BUT I still think we could have a lot of potential with her
And so we have Donatella in part 5 and let me tell you, Esbee! This is the part I've been the most excited about!
So, for this to work Donatella has to survive her illness in some way, we don't need to specify how, just listen to me
For all we know, Donatella and Trish seemed to be very close. Close enough for Trish to be very similar to her in personality and tastes and she seemed to love her very much, even after her death. And the same can go for Donatella, when she discovered her illness the first thing she did was look for her old lover so Trish could at least have her father and not be alone in the world while still being young. So I can only imagine how much would change if she was still there
Maybe in here Donatella still got ill and looked for her old lover with not succes whatsoever. But she was able to get better this time and stopped looking for Solido Naso. She didn't get any type of progress anyway and it's better to continue her life with her daughter then continue looking for someone that might not even be in the country. She couldn't really know, it had been years since the last time she saw or talked to her lover
And everything was fine for a while, until two months later. The whole "you past lover is actually the leader of the biggest Italian mafia" caught her completely of guard. And this can mean many things
Knowing that she finally found her lover after so long makes her really happy but this felling is mostly crushed by all the other overwhelming feelings about the next revelations. There's shock, there's nervousness, there's fear. But above all there's that protectives that she always had since Trish was born and she knows that this is the most important feeling for her to focus. If the boss wants to see her and her daughter then she'll go but they'll be always together and if they even try in separating both of them, well, she learned some things while living by herself for so long
My favorite part in here is how the dynamics between Bucciarati's team and Trish change just because Donatella is present in the whole situation. Trish stays by her side because she trusts her mother and knows that if she has a plan for this then she'll follow
And I can only imagine how Donatella goes about the whole team, because really, most of them are still young. Like, there's literally a newbie that has the same age as her daughter! And really, she tries her best in not getting to attached to that little quirky group but there's always some slips here and there (and no, this not a excuse for her to interact with Giorno, not at all)
I didn't thought much about the rest of the part so let's go for the next one!
Now, I really don't have any ideas for Marina because I don't know how I could make her more prominent in the plot. The only thing that comes to mind is that she starts working with the Speedwagon Foundation from the outside? Because there's no way she can do something on the prison itself
I know that the relationship in the Kujo family might change because of Holy's (and Lisa Lisa if she still lives) influence on Jotaro and this can affect the way Marina can be used on the plot. Like, other than working with the Speedwagon Foundation she could contact the rest of the Joestar family for help
But really, this is basically what I have for her for now
And now we can finally get to the last three parts!
Now, I'm not going to lie, but I really didn't think much when making part 7 because most of the changes aren't going to affect the main plot that much. It's basically a part 1 situation again (ironic, isn't it?)
To be honest the only idea that comes to my mind is one that involves both Jhonny's and Diego's moms meeting eachoter but I don't know how
And there's the whole thing of Anne not standing up against George, as far as I know, and Diana (yes, I gave her the name Diana, I just think it's cool) dying long before both Diego and Jhonny meeting
That doesn't mean I don't like the idea of both of them meeting and Anne being able to help Diana, making both her and her son to live in better conditions, Jhonny and Diego becoming childhood friends and, if possible, prevent Nicholas death
But that's why AUs are thing, right?
Now, we enter Jojolion and I have to say. There's not much that I can do in this part
Like, all the three characters I was planning something for (Mitsuba, Kaato and Holy) already have good roles in a way or I don't really know what to do about their fates in the story
There's nothing that comes to mind for Mitsuba, I think her story and role is good enough. I do have something for Kaato but I don't know how to put in the plot, you know, make it work in the plot. I just really wanted her to live in the end and if possibly, bond with Josuke. He might not be from that family from the start but the idea that they could interact with eachoter more in a positive way fills me with joy. And lastly there's Holy, another one who I don't know what to do about. It's true that me, you, the entire fandom, wanted her to live in the end and that her and Gappy could had more time together and yes, it would be awesome. I just don't know to make her live
In resume, there's not really nothing that I can add in here. If you have better ideas I'm all ears
And for last we have part 9 and God, how much I wanted to do something for Barbara. But because Jojolands is still in the early stages and Barbara hadn't had much screen time yet, there's nothing that I can do except wait until we have more of her
And that's basically it! The whole AU! I'm sorry if became confusing at some point, I didn't got back to proofread all of this and just, writed most of this in one go. But my objective was to show my thoughts bare and I think I reached that pretty well (and sorry, for the size of it too)
I hope you like it and that you can add your own ideas and that this ask doesn't get eaten by Tumblr! :D
WOW THIS WAS A LONG BOI BUT I AM EATING ALL OF IT UP
I'm also a sucker for Good Moms Getting Spotlight And Being Able To Kick Ass, though you've covered so much that I honestly don't know what else to add
except for Jotaro: that does give me thoughts of him being EXTREMELY protective and he will throw down at any oppurtunity if given the chance, and it gives the Crusaders so much whiplash see how he treats his enemies vs how he treats Holly
#also unfortunatley I........ don't think I'm gonna be able to tag this very well#because it's just so many parts with so many different characters and how I tag my posts aint gonna work here sorry-#initial thoughts#mother knows best#jjba#jojo’s bizarre adventure#sb answers#to many thoughts help
