These are all such fantastic Lightwarden concepts! I like how much Ardwin's class (and the kind of "berserker" reputation that goes with it) influence her Lightwarden form - both physically and behaviorally. The gold veining is a nice touch as well. I can almost imagine the red eyeglow as looking something like super-heated molten metal in this context. Monbapi sounds... terrifying, actually. I do like the concept of a Lightwarden even hunting and killing other sin eaters. Kodhi'ra has a lot of design elements I like, but in particular the inclusion of mechanical/mannequin-like elements is very unique! The way that his affection for the exarch has remained but warped is really interesting, and I can definitely envision this as some sort of "darkest timeline" quest series. Similarly, T'roha's protectiveness of her family living on through her protectiveness of other sineaters is a really cool angle. It was always kind of interesting to me that while sin eaters supposedly don't carry any of the "soul" of the person/creature that was turned, it seems like even beyond their appearance the experiences and personality of the "original" sometimes carry through in the sin eaters, which raises some questions about just what happens when one turns into a sin eater. I think this is a very neat example of that!

This is one of my most recent fics, and I really love exploring both Meryta's and Tansui's POV in this one. I struggled getting it to where I wanted, but I'm so happy with where it ended up and some of the nuances I was able to get in here.

Alright, I'm cheating and adding one more Meryta and Tansui fic. This one was the one that settled the idea I had for them in my mind, that made me think of them as ship - even if they're not there yet. I had such fun writing it, and I think it shows.

Her lips are painted bold red, and he notices her vallaslin, a dull olive covering the right side of her face. Dalish, then. Not many clans do that anymore. “No one comes here to drink in peace,” she says. “Iwyn Lavellan.” She holds out her hand, and he has to take it, bringing it to his lips in a kiss. Later, he blames the alcohol, or her sparkling the eyes, or the way the dress barely covers her ass. “Solas. Pleased to meet you.”

Probably my favorite AU. I love the little plot, I love the world, I love the dynamic between them. I love writing Iwyn as the immortal. I love the images and descriptions I wrote - and he smut is pretty good too!

This is probably the favorite fic I have ever written. I think I hit the mood of the book so well, and managed to make a believable continuation. I just think this one flows so well and I'm very proud of it.

Iwyn Lavellan is doing all that she can to stay one step ahead of Solas, opposing him after he reveals his plans. When she runs into her former lover in an abandoned ruin, they start a tenuous and dangerous dance. They can't help but being drawn to each other, no matter how harsh the flames of love or hate will burn them.

I love this one for so many reasons. Though not Iwyn and Solas canon (in my head) reunion, I love the darkness of this, and the way they're messed up. I'm so proud of myself for going there and writing this and putting it out in the world. I love some of the metaphors, I love the intensity. And I love the open ending I left; do they spiral or do they make it through?

Dungeon Meshi Characters as FFXIV Players

Laios -FC leader because no one else wants to do it -Started at Paladin, swapped to Samurai once Nemari and Shuro left the FC and Senshi joined. Senshi won't play anything but Warrior and they needed another DPS. -Owns every lore book -Always in the chat during hunt trains -Working on blue mage but it's going slow because nobody wants to help him -Ask him about his Lightwardens designs (do not) -Favorite Character: You think it's gonna be Hermes but it's Midgardsormr. The next ten minutes are him infodumpng about dragon lore.

Senshi: -Warrior main just so he can do stuff solo, but his gathering/crafting is maxed out - God tier omnicrafter but doesn't really care about glamours - His apartment at the FC is designed around sustainable building and farming practices. An Au Ra whose face is always scowling or smirking, never anything in between. Shiun is brash, rude, and loud - fueled by constant rage. He acts almost purely on instinct and impulse, which causes his friends no small amount of stress. Don't be fooled by his prickly attitude, he's a true hero with a heart of gold. Devoted to saving and serving as many people as he can to the point of being self-sacrificing. Good luck prying any of his deep emotions out of him, he'd really prefer that those stay hidden.

B A C K S T O R Y | |

Shiun grew up in Doma during the Garlean occupation, so his early life was full of troubles. His parents were quiet artisans that submitted, which afforded them a fairly upper-class lifestyle. But Shiun was different in a way they didn't like. He got into fights with other kids, ignored his schoolwork, and was angry at the injustices he saw all around him. His family did everything they could to extinguish the fire in his heart, but he wouldn't be put down any further. After a chance encounter with a resistance fighter, he fought back against a Garlean soldier that had been harassing people in his village. The Empire didn't take kindly to that, and his family suffered for it. He barely escaped and was forced into exile at the young age of 9. Eventually, he made his way to the Azim Steppe and was taken in by a kind family in the Malaguld Xaela tribe. Scarred by his failed attempt at resistance and the pain it caused, he kept his head down and stewed in his anger for years. That is, until a voice called him to a distant land...

Alphinaud & Alisaie | practically siblings

Shiun is fiercely protective of the twins. He sees a lot of his younger self in them and has taken on a brotherly role with them. He hates that they've been thrust into this world at such a young age, and tries to urge them to just be kids every once in a while.

Thancred | lover

At first, Shiun couldn't stand Thancred. His overconfident playboy persona really got on Shiun's nerves, so he went out of his way to piss off Thancred, too. After rescuing him from Lahabrea, he stopped being so antagonistic. Over the course of the Dragonsong war, Shiun's feelings towards Thancred began to change, which REALLY freaked him out. So much so, that he pretty much ignored Thancred's existence throughout Stormblood while he considered things. He figured it out pretty quick once the Scions started getting yoinked to another realm. More on this later...

Y'shtola | voice of reason

Shiun appreciates Y'shtola's sharp wit and sharper tongue. She sees right through his bullshit and is often scolding him for his reluctance to rely on others. They get into banter contests a lot, which he rarely ever wins.

Urianger | jock & nerd

When they first met, Shiun couldn't understand a word Urianger was saying, but he learned to communicate with him over the course of their adventures. He's got a good friendship going with Urianger, where he patiently explains complex things to Shiun five times and Shiun helps him get better at socializing.

Tataru | ride or die

Shiun would die for Tataru. She continues to baffle him with her limitless talent towards anything other than combat, and he'll do pretty much anything she asks him to. To be honest, her ability to sniff out the truth and love of gossip frightens him a little bit.

Estinien | friendly rivalry

Despite being an axe-user, Shiun's skill with the lance is nothing to sneeze at. The two talk through their sparring more than they do with their words. Shiun was happy when Estinien decided to stop skulking about and join the Scions, but he still gives him shit about it.

G'raha | brotherly friends

When he found out just how much G'raha idolized him, Shiun was flabbergasted. He certainly wasn't used to that amount of admiration, and he found it difficult to deal with at first. But the hesitation faded away as G'raha accompanied him on more and more outings. Now Shiun thinks of him as a brother and irreplaceable friend, determined to make him into a hero too.

Void, your AU doesn't sound so bad.

List of things that are happening in Voidsent AU:

Voidsent Prince exist imagine the Archfiends able to just summon the swarms of Voidsent they call on but all across Eorzea like Lightwardens do. The only saving grace is most of the Princes are cognitive and have control over these mass swarms. But if one were inclined to do so, they could overwhelm an area in a bell. While five of these Princes are said to been hunt down by the Void Hunter's Guild. Wrath and Sloth have been missing. No one has spotted or met them but they are speculated to exist since the others introduced themselves as Envy, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, and Pride.

There is a fog over the northern sector of the Central Shroud. No one who goes into it, no matter if its a skilled adverturer, explore, or a Garlean Legion ever come out. If they do, they are catatonic or incoherent. It is impossible to reach the Haukke Manor or cross over to the Fallgourd Float area from here. Even the gate's watchmen have to be changed out every 2 - 4 days or they have a psychological breakdown. At the same time this fog mysterious descended, the Padjal and Gridania loss all communication with the Elementals.

The Sahagin are at war with one of the Voidsent Princes, Envy. Who has been going on one-man raids against the Breeding Grounds. Slaughtering entire clutches of the Tribes out of spite. Limsa Lominsa can't really send a parlay in to aid the tribes without drawing the ire of the Prince. And the Leviathan and Titan summonings from Kobolds in reaction, have become increasingly more and more desperate. Threatening to wipe La Noscea off the map from earthquakes and tidal waves.

Ishgard has "fallen" for 20 years after a cult known as the Sanguine Court, rose up and over threw the Holy See. Only a few of its Noble Houses escaped to Gridania in the process. It would be bearable if the Sanguine Court sent out hostile forces to attack Gridania or Idyllshire or any of the surrounding area. But after the initial take over, its just been dead silence. Nothing comes out of Ishgard, nothing goes into Ishgard. Garlemald sent a few legions to go test its defenses and a few spies to information gather. None ever came out.

Recently a skirmish in Eastern Shroud near Baelsar's Wall turned into a route. The Knights of Ishgard Exiled and the Twin Adders were pushed out of the region as Garlemald pushed its way fully into the Shroud proper. They razed the Slyphlands after Gridania and her allies were forced into a retreat.

Gridania is completely isolated. During the Battle of Carteneau it revealed a being they aided in stopping most of the damage of Dalamud's Fall with the aid of Louisoix. But in revealing such a being who also survived, where Louisoix perished, it alienated Ul'dah and Limsa Lominsa from dealing with Gridania. Forcing them to face Garlemald, the mysterious fog, and the occupation of Ishgard by the exile's foes on its own.

All of this is troublesome. But worse of all, at random intervals for seemingly no reason. Something has occasionally taken over bodies of people. Male, Female, Beast Tribe, Soldier. Garlemald, the East, Thavnair, Sharlayan, La Noscea, etc. It doesn't seem to matter. From time to time, it just...occurs. The person's eyes with be covered in black as they bleed black out of their orifices. They will go into a fit for a short period. Before, whatever it is, takes over motor controls. It will either grow extremely hostile trying to kill everything around it or it will drop dead soon after. The few who survive a run in with it say the person possess will just keep asking the same question over and over: "Where is my, son?"

Extinguishing the Last Light - G, oneshot, 4.1k. The bad timeline where the Scions fail to stop the final Lightwarden atop Mt. Gulg, and another hero from history is called to the First to try and finish the job. While not the first FFXIV fic I wrote, it's the one I find myself rereading the most, so it gets first place here. Every time I come back to it I think "how did I write something this good?"

An Owl In Limsa - E, 5/5, 6.8k. Modern AU take on the ARR DRG quests but this time involve more Scions and throw in some smut for flavour. Baby's first published explicit fic. I had fun playing with my "in every universe these two idiots will find each other" sandbox. And speaking of dragoons...

Dragoon Age: Origins - M, 4/4, 16.2k. It's exactly what it says on the tin, this is the story of how Kitali became a dragoon told almost entirely from every POV but hers. She tends to be a very closed off person, and so it's a fun character study exercise for myself to write her from the outside instead of the inside.

Walk to the Water - G, oneshot, 10k. Gaingel mermay summer romance. If you remember when I was a Borderlands blog, you qualify for a veterans discount. This was my biggest work for several years and took me the better part of May to write, and rereading it took me down a long nostalgia walk.

This Is Home - G, oneshot, 2k. Comfy fluffy Mighty Nein group home that I did for the Mollymauk Lives fest.....several years ago now. The ideal mental happy place and a good note to end the event on.

Honourable mention to Sometimes Goodbye Is A Second Chance, which was a canon divergent BL2 fic I had started, got a few chapters into, and then fandom drift hit. I still have the outline for it, I still think about it to this day, but I'm not sure when, if ever, I'll work on it again. For now it can just live in my head.

this particular AU isn't my favorite, i must confess. i like seeing other players' WoL-turned-sineater concept art, but the implications are just so sad (and world-breaking) that it feels hard for me to do the AU its proper justice.

but i respect angst enjoyers! so here is a little drabble for you both to enjoy :)

Something must have gone wrong. The delicate, ever-shifting balance of aether, of light and dark, the tenuous thread upon which the worlds teeter... Something must have broken it. No one could know where it happened, or how, or by whose hand. At this point, it was too late to wonder. Too late to reverse the tides. The sky was already bright and stagnant, the lands still bleached and barren -- and the Warrior transformed.

Maybe 'transformed' was too sweet a word. Too gentle, too clinical. It didn't capture the bones cracking or the skin ripping. Or the screaming. Gods, the screaming. How it hung in the air like fog as every scrap of light within the Warrior painstakingly tore its way out. And how it suddenly stopped, replaced with naught but sterile silence as something new arose in their place.

A thing with too many eyes, too many limbs, flesh pallid, body edged with glittering gold. It towered over the other sin eaters, dwarfing even the most formidable of the Lightwardens, in stature and power alike. Power leaked like blood from its ragged seams. Puddles of liquid light splattered the ground as it took its first stuttering steps in its new frame. All who looked upon it knew it was not a mere sin eater, but a newborn god. A harbinger of a hideous doom, terrible and beautiful in the same vacant moment.

And as the creature brayed, announcing its supremacy to the flocks of its newfound kin, the others fled. Some ran; others were dragged, or carried. But all fled. What else could they do? The world was unraveling around them, crumbling piecemeal into the sickly stillness of the light. They had to reach the Crystarium, had to regroup, had to make sure the denizens of the shard were safe. There were thousands of lives at stake -- and yet, as the Scions raced to safety, all they could think of was the life they were leaving behind.

🖤 What's an angst plot you'd like to write?

One of these days I would like to write out a bad AU, or at least a one-shot's worth of a bad AU.

These include:

-Laurus Lightwarden AU (Emet-Selch is defeated but Rowan is still under the effects of the Light Poisoning. She eventually turns into a World Tree of sorts to protect Etheirys from Meteion's Song of Oblivion. Urianger is sad.)

-Persephone Lightwarden AU (Emet-Selch is not defeated. It gets horny. It is still very much angsty.)

-Evil Political Arranged Marriage AU (As the daughter of the High Priestess of Gelmorra, Emperor Solus suggests a political marriage to Zenos to end bloodshed. Rowan is resigned and sad, but does her best to not show vulnerability.)

Favorite comedy trope: MISCOMMUNICATION OR MISUNDERSTANDING FORMING THE BASIS OF A BIT AND IT JUST ESCALATES FROM THERE. Thank you for my life, Shakespeare.

Favorite duo/group dynamic trope: Oh, miserable coworkers. Anything where people would be at each other's throats were it not for the laws of the land etc etc, but coworkers especially takes the cake because like, the obligation to be civil is mostly self-inflicted.

What's a dark plot you'd like to write? OH LIGHTWARDEN AU BELOVED. There's a few scenarios, but the one for the soap opera is so crystalized in my mind (chrysalis-ed.....) and i would love to see it actualized without actually having to do the work since I have so many other things I haven't written that are like. for timelines that are more solid and less doomed.

Oh god. So.

There's a couple:

I'd like to finish my Memoirs series, which follows G'raha Tia's journey through the aftermath of the Eighth Umbral Calamity as he searches through the journals and memoirs of several key companions of the Warrior of Light to find the exact moment where everything went wrong.

I'd like to write Kal'istae's Bad End AU where she becomes a Lightwarden.

I'd like to write Kal'istae's Bad End AU where the Scions are unable to resuscitate her after the final fight with Zenos.

There are a few other dark plots that bubble up from time to time, but these are the ones that linger and that I really should give some attention to.

How many works do you have on Ao3? Currently at 23! 22 for Final Fantasy XIV and 1 original work.

What's your total Ao3 word count? 182,581 at the moment! But I have thousands upon thousands more in WIPs that I should probably post at some point. lol

What fandoms do you write for? Mostly Final Fantasy XIV for the WoL x G'raha ship, but I'd love to publish some Karlach/Tav fics at some point for Baldur's Gate 3. (I have a high elf wizard that's in love with her.)

What are your top 5 fics by Kudos? 1. Heat - a heat fic. Pure smut. Very horny. 2. Delights - a collection of short kink fics. Also very horny. 3. Fantasies - a visual novel about sexual fantasies. 4. Here at Memory's End - the first wolgraha fic I've ever written. Slowburn love story from ARR to the end of Endwalker. 5. Reflections - A collection of shorter fics that fit in with Aedric & G'raha's story, as well as other MSQ characters. (Some of my best prose is in here, in my opinion!)

Do you reply to comments? I do! Sometimes it takes me several days/weeks/months, but I always try to. Sometimes social batteries are low and it takes me a bit, but I read and appreciate every single one, and go back and read comments all the time to feel loved.

What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? My Lightwarden AU, Unrequited. It's a bad end to Shadowbringers in which Aedric turns into a Lightwarden. It's angsty, but also supreme monsterfucker. I went full-blast monsterfucker on this one. Still a favorite to this day.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Hm. Most of them? lol. I am a romance/fluff/erotica writer. They all have happy endings.

Do you get hate on fics? Not really on fics themselves, but on social media. I just block though. *shrugs*

Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Oh honey. Yes. (That's an understatement.) I seem to specialize in "soft nerds who are into BDSM/kink". I love soft service dom/sub who learns to let go and enjoy. I love the desperately horny. I love the enthusiastic consent. I love soul mates who fuck each other as if every breath, every touch, every movement of body against body is proof that they are here. That they are together. That they are loved and safe. One of my favorite fics I've ever written is Verdancy, an introduction of sorts of Aedric & G'raha's dom/sub BDSM journey. Though the most on-brand quintessential Aedric & G'raha smut is definitely Bibliophilia, in which the two nerds fuck in a library.

Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've ever written? I do not write crossovers, but I wouldn't be opposed to it! I'm not sure which crossover though lol

Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not to my knowledge.

Have you ever had a fic translated? Not to my knowledge, but I'd be 100% okay with it if I'm asked first!

Have you ever co-written a fic before? In a way? I have a small WIP with my friend (he doesn't have an XIV Tumblr, but he's on AO3 as Indasha) in which our two WoLs and G'raha are bound together as the three Fates. So a bit of a poly ship. (Gee, Aedric, how come you get two catboys? lol) My friends and I had a vaguely Greek Gods AU. If people want, I can post snippets and screenshots from it? Just send me an ask if interested, I guess haha

What's your all-time favorite ship? Seeing as how this is my XIV/writing blog, it's very obviously WoL x G'raha Tia. 🥺 They mean so much to me.

What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? I intend to finish every single of my WIPs, and I never consider them abandoned. Ever. Instead, I'll give a preview of what I'm currently working on, when I have time to write lately: - Vampire AU (we all know this lol) - A fic about shibari/bondage called Vermilion. G'raha ties Aedric up. G'raha POV. - His Inflorescence, part 2. I'm over halfway done.

What are your writing strengths? I think my strengths are showing moments of intimacy and vulnerability. People have told me I'm good at combining the horny with the soft, too.

What are your writing weaknesses? Writing scenes with more than two characters lol Also, dialog. I always feel like I'm horrible at it.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I speak French, but don't know where that would ever come up in my fics? (Maybe Ishgardian curse words lol)

First fandom you wrote for? Oh boy. When I was 17 years old, I wrote two fanfics for Axis Powers Hetalia. I liked Sweden/Finland. I'm no longer in that fandom, but they're still a very cute ship to me, even after 13 years.

Favorite fic you've ever written? While I love most of my fics, Hunger, my Vampire AU, is my favorite of all time for many reasons. It's the first fic in which I wrote an original plot that's not influenced by canon events at all. It's going to be the length of a novel, when finished, most likely. Once it's done, I may stick it back into the writing soup and let it simmer and see if an original novel comes out of it. Who knows.
