No but death note the musical being all about love and what are humans (and gods) capable of diong for it makes me weak like...

Light starting with a song about what does it mean to live in a society where justice is just a circus, where powerlful people can get away with everything they want. How he gets everyone in his class to sing about their opinions on justice. How his love for looking for some kind of justice, for some kind of sense of that very word, leads him to his very end, where he found a sense for that word, but is already too late.

L's songs and actions being all about the truth and what does it take to look for it. And asking himself in the process if the truth can be something as simple as just connecting some dots, or if it means to take a look at the greater picture. And in that search for the truth he leads himself to his very end.

Misa's character being all about (and this is my favorite part) wanting to love the whole world, but being uncapable of it because there is just so much evil in the world that makes us wonder if its really worth it to love it that much and hoping that maybe, one day in the near future, if there was just someone getting rid of everything thats evil in the world, we can be so sure that loving everythig that exists was the true purpose of the very act of living all along.

Rem's final song being so full of love to everything that makes us human: hoping and dreaming and praying and trying and failing to dream about whats possible and keep trying because thats our very nature. And if a literal god can feel moved by that fact with seeing how misa will sacrifice everything, even when she has a long way to go (i mean, she has a career as a model and pop star) just because she hopes the world can actually be a better place if only someone would do something about evil people, then how could we not feel moved as well (i cry at that part don't touch me). Because if Rem, who started the show believing is worthless to dream and try to keep going no matter what and ends the show becoming that same thing she criticized, finally seeing why we are like that, then there is no reason for us to not believe that love gives us the power to go on.

And then there's Ryuk...not loving anything really, just being there for a couple of laughs...but being there to see the whole thing! Loving nothing else but himself. Even if he doesn't have a purpose, even if he will have to go back to the shinigami realm where he'll be bored to death again, he still doesn't fall for anything else, for anything that makes a human...human...he's the only one left at the end of the show, telling us that, at the end, everything was worthless anyway... and of course he thinks like that, if there is nothing else for him to love.

many of my friends from other spaces (who were around for the actual death note mania back in the 2000s unlike me, a Youngster) have criticized death note for not going hard enough on the fact that the stuff light is doing wouldn't work. in manga canon the existence of kira has somehow stopped all the wars on the planet and the crime rate has dropped steeply when realistically that wouldn't. happen. at all. and i agree with them, i think this is part of why death note objectively really sucks

i do think it is interesting that death note chooses regardless to paint light as doing an unequivocally bad thing. hang on there's a better-phrased post like this let me go find it HERE. read that first

okay welcome back. death note says, if you killed someone and it genuinely decreased the amount of harm that spreads in the world (a question that obviously disregards the grief that person's relatives would have, the opportunity of rehabilitating them, the impossibility of knowing for sure that this would actually improve the world — just. death note does not deal with those things even though i think it should), that would still be a bad thing.

and like, i agree. but i think that death note and i don't agree on the why. most death note fans i've seen could write whole novels on how punitive justice doesn't work and disproportionally affects marginalized communities and so on and so forth; death note sort of just shrugs and says, murder is bad. which it is! but god that's a weak justification i can see why some of its fans started writing quora essays like "actually light was right the whole time and should have killed more people"

…actually you know what, here's what death note is doing: it is taking a magnifying glass to the justice system but only to the perpetrators. death note is a really good treatise on how power corrupts everyone, even when you think you'd do the right thing. (death note to me is a thinly veiled metaphor pro-gun control/anti-death penalty but that's a different post.) "whoever picks up this note will only ever lead a life of misery" "the true evil is the power to kill" "misa, i'm sorry, i should never have given you the notebook" etc etc etc. death note is screaming that having the power to kill will destroy you.

what death note is not good at is actually examining the effects of that power over the world at large. it just sort of says, i mean, murder is always bad innit. L and near and mello aren't trying to catch light because they truly believe kira is Wrong, they're just after him because what else are they supposed to do. you're just another murderer, near says. and the world goes back to status quo. and the police continue to rule the world in place of kira. and i mean sure the police have less power than Magical Killing Notebook but man. death note is so close to saying "tear down the existing justice system too" and never gets there and sometimes i want to strangle it.

first off, he doesn't laugh very often.

memes? nothing. jokes? nothing. sarcasm? nothing. This doesn't mean he doesn't find any of these funny, he just doesn't have the urge to actually laugh.

but Light falling down the Task Force stairs? YES.

L finds other things funny too but there's just... something special about watching Light mess up...

if he's around people he trusts he's likely to laugh more, at super not funny things especially. for example, bad puns, horribly edited memes or videos, and dark jokes are high on the list. (I may or may not also find these things very funny)

anyway that got into when he laughs. as for HOW he laughs: it varies depending on how funny something is.

Mildly amusing? Dry chuckle. almost sounds like a cough or the engine of a car if that makes sense. sometimes he will say (with no change in tone whatsoever), "haha. that was quite amusing."

Hilarious? the man is cackling and wheezing.

Light is a GIGGLER!!!

this kind of embarrasses him so he can usually make it sound more like a chuckle, this is also how he does fake-laughs when he's Kira and wants to hide the crazy-laughs.

I think he'd find animals and cute stuff worth a little laugh just because it's amusing and they bring joy to his life

that said I think Kira version of Light wouldn't laugh as much. He's under a lot of stress, he doesn't see the joy in life any more. Light is just there to fulfil his mission, to cleanse the world of evil, and he's so dedicated to this cause that he doesn't find time to appreciate the good that already exists in this world

uhhh anyway other people laughing inevitably sets Light off too, even as Kira he struggles not to laugh when L or Matsuda does. Misa's laughs, not so much of a problem. They just concern him...

hold on this is kind of hard actually...

you know what, I think she'd make other noises instead of actual "laughs."

such as squeaking, squawking, honking, all those funny words used to describe people who laugh but don't really laugh. shakes her head and sighs a lot at dad jokes but she secretly loooves them.

if she actually laughs it will be hahahahahhahaa-gasp-hahahhahahaha where it gradually gets higher pitched and the sound stops and she's just breathing in a squeaky manner. Misa will also start waving her body and arms back and forth like she's going to hit her knees, but only hits air.

Misa used to be embarrassed about her laugh when she was little, but she grew to learn it just means she's happy! so she likes it

though she would never laugh if she's livestreaming or anything like that, like Light she'd have a fake laugh (a typical girly giggle) for such occasions.

I think he would often like scream and then laugh (especially on roller coasters, watching horror movies, being jump-scared, all that)

"Matsuda it was just a bad bee pun, are you alright?" because he'd suddenly be set off by one silly thing like that and just be chuckling and laughing and all for the next few hours. and expect it to start again if someone makes the mistake of saying "bees" in the next few days

Near 🧸

like L, he does not laugh very often

unlike L, this statement is ONLY true for when he's in the company of others. when alone I think Near does a fair bit of laughing, though it's quiet

it's just the kind of vulnerability and genuine enjoyment that he only feels safe to express when he's alone...

anyway Near's laugh is a little rough like he's not used to doing it. he might chuckle for a while, or just let out a quick and sharp "HA!" if he's more startled into laughter. the first one is more private, the second he might let out a couple of times in company

I think Near would also lie in bed at night and just laugh at the ceiling. maybe especially if he's had a bad day. it makes him feel a little better and reminds him that there are good things in the world! Because when Near laughs he remembers the other things that have made him laugh

it's a sign he likes and trusts someone if he laughs with them

Near can also mimic lots of different kinds of laughs. I feel like he's a storyteller, even if he only tells the stories to himself, so this skill can come in very useful!

Mello 🍫

HE HAS AN EVIL VILLAIN LAUGH

less disturbing than Light's Kira laugh BUT IT'S STILL KIND OF SCARY IF YOU'VE NEVER HEARD IT BEFORE

but most people are quick to realise he's just laughing. laughing a little like a crazy person but it's easy to tell, if you take the time to observe, that he's just genuinely enjoying himself

Matt ALWAYS knows what to say to make Mello laugh

I don't know how to explain that and the villain-laugh headcanon fitting together but they do, just trust me. it may sound evil but it is super sweet

Short (silly) Summary:  You attend same Uni with onion and maybe share some classes, that's why the two of you gradually grew close to the point wherein you can easily joke around with him and see past his prim and proper mask! You've always been kinda impulsive though, and he's the one usually keeping you in check. Which is why he was surprised when you suddenly broke the news that you wanted to attend simbang gabi masses (since you've already had a talk about religion and beliefs). Now, in these 9 nights leading up to Christmas, can we expect something to bloom? Find out now in this oneshot by enyan

Story under cut!

The jeepney ride pulls you into some sort of reverie, abruptly disrupted when a yawn leaves your mouth. It stops, as a passenger leaves, before continuing on—stopping once more for either another leaving passenger or a new one. Leaning slightly towards the other’s body, just to sneakily take a quick nap, you hoped oh so dearly that he wouldn’t notice. Or if he did, he wouldn’t mind, which would be impossible. Eyelids growing heavier, you leaned your weight against him. You’ll just apologise later…the finals season simply took a toll on your body.

You felt a light tap on your shoulder. The sudden contact made you soundlessly jolt up, as you warily looked into the other’s face. Ah…just like usual, he doesn’t seem mad. Concerned purples met your eyes, “We’re near the church. Wake up.”

Sending a genuine thanks, you simply hummed to yourself. With the jeepney gradually getting more and more vacant, the streets turn more and more familiar. “We really are near…” all slowly dissipating into the certain peace that the atmosphere in between gets; a comforting silence, you might say. It was still a miracle how you managed to befriend someone like him, a soft smile formed on your face. “Why are you smiling?” 

“I was just thinking how lucky I am,” he raised a brow, confused. “To be friends with you.”

He paused, a slight tinge of panic or embarrassment becoming visible on his face. “I…I see.”

“You don’t have to say anything back, you know?” you said, cracking a smile on your face. Gaze turning to the side to look if it would be suitable to get off now. The tinge of recognition makes your eyes go slightly wide, and while you are about to go—”Para po.” Ah, he beat you to it. You imaginarily shook your head at this loss of the non-existent rivalry you had with him. Feeling the jeepney slowly lose its momentum and heading into a halt, he rose out of his seat and went on first as he held out his hand for you to hold. “Thankie!”

Holding his hand as the two of you got off, you lightly stretched your limbs. The contrast of the warmth of bustling people and the nightly air, making everything just seem just right. “Oh!” A gasp left your mouth, gingerly removing your hold onto his hand. The two of you slowly made your way into the church, slightly taking in the artsy architectural history it has, voice gradually growing softer as to pay respects to others who were praying ahead, “I’ve never actually attended these.”

“These?” he paused a bit, staring at the church the two of you were heading into before looking back at you directly, continuing on. “Misa de Gallo?”

“Yeah!” 

“I haven’t done so too, in years.”

You looked at him, curious as he slightly resigned to his fate and continued on. “I try to still be a devout follower, attending masses as much as I can, but…”

“Uni stuff?” He nodded at your statement, as you gave a pitying look with a couple of comforting pats on his back. He…didn’t seem to protest. “I’m sure your God will understand.”

“For me…well, I’m not really religious—as I’ve already told you before.”

“That is why I was wondering if you lost your mind when you suggested this.” He cut-in, making you laugh. You quickly lightheartedly interjected back, “It was out of impulse! I swear!”

“But yeah, I just thought it would be nice. I heard bibingka tastes good.”

“Well,” he starts off, choosing the perfect pew that isn’t directly near the front. Just right, while you nonchalantly trailed after him. Sometimes, you tend to forget he is actually fairly tall. Stopping, he lets you sit first before shortly following. “It has a perk.” A playful smirk became visible on his face, making you more and more curious. You’ve never heard of a perk in attending this mass. “If you completely attend the masses,” you nodded, as he continued on, “On the very last day, you can ask for a wish. And it will come true.”

“Have you tried? Wishing?”

“It…somehow works. Comes true.” You felt like you shouldn’t dive deep about that topic, especially with that distant stare he has straight on ahead. “Well, I’d wish I would pass this sem.”

“...really.” He stared at you as if you’ve grown two heads, “just how tough is the sem for you.”

“Very,” you said, all determined. Making him stare once more before looking away, “I’m sure you would pass. I see how much you work hard.”

“But not as much as you,” you huffed, before melting back into your earlier easy attitude. “It depends if I finish it.”

“The misa de gallo?”

“Yes.” you stared towards the entrance from your seat, people wearing costumes catching your eye. “Well,” he starts off, making you turn to him. “I’ll make sure you do.”

“Boo! What if I get sleepy, what then?”

“You can rest on me.” 

You almost thought it was a joke, before seeing how earnest he is being, making you feel…strange. In a positive manner. Somehow. What was this…?

“W…Well…sure. Will do!”

He coughed awkwardly, embarrassment visible on his face, “I’m used to it since I usually bring my siblings along. So that’s that.”

“It’s starting.” 

The once well-lit church had some of the lights turned off, as the ceremonies started. Attendees slowly going smaller and smaller, feeling everything go on. A strange process of the ritual slowly unravelled all around, wherein he was not annoyed with you asking what to do next and what was happening. “They are going to reenact some chapters, throughout the nine days of the misa, leading up to the birth of Jesus.”

“So that’s why they are costumed…” 

“The actors are mainly church servers, so they are,” he hesitated. “Not good.”

“Hopefully it will be funny,” you said, staring straight ahead. He responded, “I cannot say if they are funny, my siblings fell asleep through it.”

“Well, at least we can critique it?”

“It is less boring than the Father simply showing well made videos from Youtube,” he slightly pointed towards the projector. “They show there.”

You stared ahead, looking at the awkward yet stiff movements of the actors. “I get your siblings now.” Sighing tiredly, you continued on, “Damn, you’re so amazing at being able to stay awake,” you started to subtly lean against  him, feeling more and more sleepier. “Does the pillow offer still stand…?”

“Of course, I’ll wake you when standing is needed.”

“Thanky…” 

And that was it, all throughout the masses. 

A sense of energy flowing inside of you as you recalled the softness of his gaze, as the Ama Namin came on. Hands held up by each other, as you mouthed the words to this prayer based on the words shown through the projector. Slightly perking up as you heard him sing along, you’ve never heard him sing much before! This was the perk of the Simbang Gabi, you thought to yourself jokingly. It was…really nice. You still wouldn’t like to participate much in the religion but spending time with your friend was really, really nice. It felt as if the two of you became closer, with this shared experience. 

Laughing as you recalled how patient he was with you, despite his obvious annoyances with you not wanting to go anymore, only to feel bad as you’ve already spent too much time in this endeavour. Leaving the church for the very last time, as the nightly streets near the church became bustling with newly made and heated food, you felt a slight pang of hunger. “Are you hungry?” You start to question if he could read minds, “Yeah…”

“I’ll buy something for us.”

“Can I join?”

“Alright,” the two of you head into the elderly lady selling kakanin, leche flan, kutsinta…oh, is that the bibingka you’ve heard so much about?! “I wanna try the bibingka.”

“...”

“?”

“That was what I was planning to buy for us.” Perhaps, you too, can read minds. 

“What a cute couple.” the elderly lady laughed, making you laugh back in embarrassment. “No, nay. We are only friends!”

“Sure, sure.” She smiled knowingly, making you feel confused, while he remained quiet. Asking around the prices, as you set off to buy the kutsinta for your house. He pulled up his wallet and successfully bought the bibingka. Separated into two plastics, so you could easily dig-in without worrying much, you both thanked the elderly lady before heading away. You stared off onto a familiar looking area, “I think they sell drinks here.”

“Warm drinks go well with this.”

“Chocolate? Or Coffee?”

“Coffee,” you set off to buy, blowing raspberries at him as it was your turn to treat him. Even with just these drinks, which cost less than the bibingka. Before gesturing to him to come near where you were, as there were free available seats nearby. Settling into the seat, alongside the table, you mused, “That was an eventful nine days,” before taking a sip of your warm drink. “If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have continued on.”

“Really?” 

“You made it more fun.” You smiled at him, before taking a huge bite. “I got to witness different sides of you, and it was nice.”

“Normally, people would think this would be repulsive.”

“They just have no respect,” you frowned, “I can see that what you have going on helps you in a way. And I respect that.”

“...thank you,” looking away, as he lightly flushed. “I admire you too.”

…? 

“C-Cool! We admire each other.”

…

He lightly cursed, becoming more and more embarrassed. Muttering, not the right time yet. As you confusedly stared at him, “It’s nothing.”

“I hope we can go again next year.”

“I give you permission to drag me,” you smiled, earning a small chuckle from the other.

anyway lots of religious speak and death mentions.

anyway, the fic, it’s based on this SUPER GOOD book called “The Five People You Meet In Heaven”. and L’s in the afterlife. ‘cept it’s like purgatory but different. the lore for the place he’s in is that that’s were people go when God and Satan are arguing over where to send the person, basically. Since it’s Purgatory For Posers, I’ll call it Empty Space.

L’s there to learn a lesson, no, a few lessons, just how the protagonist of the book, Eddie, does. There, he meets five people.

I haven’t decided yet if an equivalent of Marguerite’s character, or a love interest at all, will exist, but if it does, it’ll be Misa. Marguerite is Eddie’s wife, and when he sees her again in heaven, she teaches him about mourning someone dead that you loved basically and how it’s better to move on basically. If Misa existed in this fic and took a role similar to that of Marguerite, her lesson to give him would probably be something about betrayal and how to handle it [like how Light betrayed her, how she betrayed L, how Light betrayed L, it’s a common theme and she would handle it well, I think.]

Marguerite is the third character that the protag of the novel meets, so Misa would probably also be the third person L meets. The first, I’m thinking, would be A. A would teach L what an absolute HORROR HOUSE Wammy’s had been, and how L’s focus on only “what was right” ending up causing him to do lots of things that were really actually wrong. Maybe just give L a reality check on his moral compass in general, basically.

The second person L met would be… Naomi Misora, perhaps? If she had anything to speak to him about, it would be likely questioning, and then answers, as to why. Why he did certain things. Naomi would probably also be the meanest. I don’t have much of an idea of what her lesson would be lolz, but I know I want to include her as one of the five.

The fourth person would be L’s mother. She’d teach him more about mourning, probably comfort him over the fact she died when he was so young, stuff like that. Maybe we can give L daddy issues just for angst’s sake, and then have L’s mommy come in and help him out w/ that. Or just.. give L issues in general. No, she could fix his attachment issues! That! Okay, there. L’s mam talks to him and grieving and apologises for not being there for him, and helps him with his attachment issues.

The fifth person… Watari. The lesson would be hard to make out, maybe up for interpretation, and Watari and L wouldn’t speak to each other much. Maybe the lesson would be about forgiveness. That’d be cool but I know it won’t happen.

I won’t include like.. Light or BB or anything, like I’ll mention them, but I probably won’t consider making them part of the five, because if there was Heaven, Hell, and Empty Space, in that universe, y’all know where Light and BB would go. I’m sorry.

Anyway, there’s my infodump.

GIVE ME A DEATH NOTE MINION AU (not the little yellow fucks)

Like the Death Note just comes with tiny little built in shadow demons that are the ones that actually go out and steal the lifespan of the person whose name was written down

They look like a mix between a cat and a dragon, and are about the size of an eight week old kitten

Light fucking adores them to bits, one always sits and purs on Light's lap while he pets them as he schemes his evil plans, or rides on his shoulder when he goes out, there's always at least one with him

They follow the same rules as Ryuk, they can't be seen by someone unless they touch the Death Note they are bound to

They absolutely love Light as well because he actually gives them jobs!!! They haven't done anything for centuries, and this human guy has taken better care of them than any shinigami

They petition the shinigami king to just serve Light for the rest of his existence, best God of death ever 11/10

They are Light's #1 fans and so cute! They steal Kira merch all the time and wear it on themselves, and when ever Light is mad or frustrated they do the cutest little cheer routine to make him happy again and it always works

Light's trying to find a way to unbind them from the Note so that they will serve him instead of the owner of the book, and that way he can basically point at a criminal he wants dead and they'll know who he's talking about without him having to write the name down

Ryuk is immediately jealous because he was supposed to be Light's cool spooky companion but nooo the annoying little imps have him captivated

When he voices this Light's basically like:

"Will you give me unconditional love and support in my quest to become God of my New World?" Light asks as he idly pets a very happy and purring demon on his lap

"Eh, no—"

"Than shut the fuck up."

It's okay tho Light gives him apples and still bugs him sometimes

SHE DRESSES THEM UP!!! Light and Misa have little demon fashion shows!!!

And who needs Light (the worst bf ever tbh) when she has these adorable little guys!!!

Oh Light is an absolute menace with these guys

They bring chaos where ever they go, and spite whoever Light doesn't like. That one teacher Light hates because he gave him a 99 over an "unclear answer" always finds his chalk broken, his coffee spilt, and continuously loses papers he needs. They can't kill without the Death Note, so they just fuck with whoever Light tells them to (rip L)

They miss Light during the Yotsuba arc so much, they hate Higuchi with a passion and will not listen to him anymore than they have to

OR unlike a shinigami you will always be able to see them after you touch a DN, even if you give it up. L is IMMEDIATELY sus when Light seems less miserable in confinement, and whenever something goes missing? Kira. He stubs his toe? Obviously Light using his evil telekinesis. He mistypes a letter? Kira is afoot people.

That continues all of confinement lol

L kinda loves them too when he can see them after he touches the DN, cause they are pretty cute. He sneaks them his strawberries so they warm up to him a little, to Light's chargin.

im watching the death note drama and taking notes of the differences between it and the anime/manga. this is episode 1:

EPISODE ONE:

They address the idea of an eraser but when u go to erase the name it just doesn't erase its like pen - the eraser isnt shown in the anime, but its in the pilot chapter of the manga.

in this version light isnt immediately like "oh im god now that i can kill" - like he goes to kill this bully from highschool that was terrorizing him and his friend, but he goes to erase it and cross it out because he quickly realizes he doesnt really want him to die. he also doesnt figure out the death note works right away, it isnt until the morning after that he finds out the guy died. when he finds out that the guy definitely died of a heart attack he almost throws up

this light is a lot different because the light in the anime already had a disreguard for human life. he already had the thought that some people are better off dead , but in the drama its other people that put that thought into his head. and we get to see the blank slate light that might have existed before the canon

light's mom is dead.

soichirou has "work before family" disease even ~10 years after his wife died and he was too busy working to be there at the hospital with her. so light's taken the role of parent to his little sister - he makes her breakfast and dinner because their dad is always at work and they dont have a mom

light also works part time at a cafe i think. and hes still studying for public service. he's starts at college, not at high school like in the anime.

this screenshot here shows off another aspect of light - he actually Has a personality as opposed to his Blank White Room bedroom in the anime. theres trophies and school-items, which shows hes still good at school and tries very hard, but then you have the deer head thing. its like. its cool! its art! theres personality there! he has personality beyond trying to be seen as a perfect student

the hostage situation actually happened with light's Dad as the hostage. light thinks the death of the high school bully was a fluke and is still doubting that the book works, but he runs home to write down the name of the guy who took his dad hostage anyways 

light has friends - when they asked about what he thought of kira, one of them chimed in and said "light hates crimes" and he just nodded like. "yeah.." like hes letting himself be the person that people think he is 

someone actually tells light about misa's parents being murdered by a guy. I think in the animanga he just killed the guy because he was a criminal, without knowing that he was killing MISA MISA's parents' murderer.

mikami is there and hes the one that tells misa that her parents' murderer is getting out of jail on parole

ryuk really likes openly mocking light, saying "is this the birth of a hero", applauding him when he killed lind l tailor, etc 

ryuk is also very into waiting behind doors that light opens

ryuk actually had to convince Light to use the notebook. light was originally going to kill himself to atone for the deaths of the 2 people he killed, even though they were both harming people he cared for

lights friend is a misa stan. light goes to her concerts sometimes. she's like a local idol.

ok ok so deathnote characters (melli near l and light) with a modern s/o but like the thing is is that they kinda fell through the sky whne l and light were at the park or something so they just look at the s/o like 👁👄👁 while the s/o comes running over explaining how much they love l ( and compleatly ignoring light)

I only did it with L and Light because I don’t seem the dynamic with all four of them working. I can see honestly everything else. Near obsessing over L’s darling or Light’s and the same for Mello and everything else. But I can’t think of this right now. I hope it’s still alright😕. I think I’ll make a separate post for Mello and Near later on.

Modern reader getting transported in Death Note

✍️🍰Light knew already that there were more mysterious things that existed in this universe, the Shinigami following him and the note he had hidden in his room being proof enough of this. He would have lied if he had said he had never asked Ryuk if there were other things as well. But that damn Shinigami just shrugged with his shoulders. L was someone who had always relied more on logical things, but during the Kira case his view on the world changed a bit, accepting the fact that there were things beyond his knowledge.

✍️🍰But no one from the two had expected to witness what had happened on this day. They had just been sitting in the park and doing some small talk, both trying secretly to figure ways out how to win against the other. That was until they had suddenly saw something. For the shortest of seconds...the sky suddenly seemed to split in half, opening a hole before quickly going back to normal. What had that just been? Both of them just stared surprised at the sky. And then they had heard it. Screaming, at first only faint, but it had gotten louder and louder until they had seen a view that nearly caused them to drop their jaws. There you were, falling from who knows which height down. You were yelling something from not wanting to die like this, closing your eyes tightly and praying to whoever you believed in. But shortly before you could end like a pancake you suddenly slowed down, floating softly down and gently landing on the earth.

✍️🍰Both of them just stood there in shock, glancing with blinking eyes back and forth between the sky and you. There was no doubt in their minds that you had been falling through that hole from a few minutes before. But that didn’t help them what that had just been and who you were. You on the other hand had slowly opened your eyes, noticing that you weren’t dead yet and looking like a lost puppy confused around. That was until you were met with the clueless faces from L and Light, your gaze freezing on theirs.

✍️🍰For a few seconds they just looked at you and you just looked at them. That was until a sparkle started appearing and you instantly jumped to your feet and hurried to them, looking amazed at L, circling around him and observing him interested. And that’s when you asked with a hint of excitement if he was L? And that made both men tense up. From where did you know that. You took that as a yes and started instantly explaining that you were a huge fan of his, something from “him being your favorite from the Anime” and excitedly starting to ramble about how much you loved him and that he was incredibly cool. Light just stood there, feeling like he was somewhat in the wrong place. Why were you ignoring him?

✍️🍰L on the other hand was flustered, not only because you knew who he was, but also because of your enthusiasm towards him. By all means, he wasn’t used to suddenly be showered in compliments and praises like this. Not only that, but he was scared that someone would hear you because you had gotten louder and louder during your speech. So he just hushed you and asked you who you were. And you told him proudly your name. Light had gotten a bit awkward, not being okay with the fact of being ignored like this. That’s why he decided to finally step in, asking you what had just happened and why you had fallen from the sky. You turned your head in his direction, the smile you had given L slowly transforming into an frustrated and somewhat angry look, scoffing at him that he should just stay out of it.

✍️🍰L thought it would be the smartest to question you somewhere more private, bringing you into the basement where they were currently working on the Kira case. During the whole ride back there you kept talking to L, even going as far as interrupting Light whenever he tried to join. And Light slowly started to get pissed off by your disrespectful behavior. What was your problem?

✍️🍰The way you were being questioned was much more pleasant than what he had done with Misa and Light, looking more like a friendly chat under old friends. You were served some coffee and cake from Watari, L thinking that you would talk willingly. And you did indeed. By the end of your explanation you looked a bit embarrassed, L staring at you with a neutral expression on his face and Light quirking an eyebrow at you. He really wanted to think that you were nuts, but the fact that you had literally fallen from the sky kept him from labeling you as a lunatic. He did know that supernatural things existed, but this was a bit hard. You noticed that both of them were a bit unsure, offering to give them some proof before pulling your cellphone out and showing them some pictures you had saved about L. A lot of pictures. This seemed to fascinate L, taking your phone and scrolling through the pictures before asking you if you had some more proof. You did, but told him whilst glancing suspiciously at Light that you didn’t want to say this loudly. So you just whispered it in L’s ear, his eyes widening in surprise before giving you a intense look. You just laughed and told him that you wouldn’t tell anyone.

✍️🍰What did you tell him? You told him about the Wammy House and his two successors inside of there. And that managed to convince L, explaining later on that you would live somewhere near here and that this should be kept as a secret between him, Watari, you and Light. Light on the other hand still had his doubts, not fully believing yet that all of this was true. Later on in his room he talked to Ryuk, asking the Shinigami what he was thinking about this. Ryuk just laughed, looking clearly amused by something. When Light asked him annoyed what was so funny Ryuk gave him an answer that made him jump up in surprise. He hadn’t been able to see your name nor your life span above your head, emphasizing that he normally was able to see the name and life span of every human from this world.

✍️🍰That managed to convince Light because even though Ryuk was lazy, he wasn’t a liar. But that meant trouble. You had explained that in your world their world was an Anime, a show which people watched. And that meant that you knew about him. He had of course luck because you had explained that before being thrown into this world you had somewhat heard someone saying that you weren’t allowed to tell them anything too directly. But you were allowed to change the future. That meant if you would somewhat hint L that he was Kira it would be over for him. So what other choice did he have besides killing you. He only hoped that the name you had told him was the right one whilst busily writing down your name in his Death Note. But as soon as he had written it down something strange happened. Your name just disappeared. And no matter how much Light wrote it down, it kept getting erased.

✍️🍰What was that supposed to mean? Did that mean that he couldn’t kill you? Shinigami, tell him what that meant! Ryuk himself seemed surprised by this, chuckling and saying that this was so fun. But then he suggested that this Death Note, and other Death Notes as well, maybe didn’t have the power to kill someone from another universe. And that was just great for Light. The Death Note had always been his best weapon, but now it was useless. It was of course also a choice to kill you with his bare hands. But not only were you already very warily around him, he would also make himself the clear culprit since he was the only one besides Watari and L who knew about your true identity. Not to mention that you had been placed under great security system. What was he supposed to do now?!

✍️🍰You often spent time with the four who knew about your secret, talking with you about the case and L also showing a huge interest in your world and the Anime about his world. He was almost a bit disappointed when finding out that your world, minus Kira of course, was pretty much the same as his. And Light could clearly feel how you always glared silently at him, wishing that he could somehow get rid of you because due to your more hostile behavior towards him L had also started to get more suspicious. He needed to do something about you.

✍️🍰But he never got the chance too. Not because he couldn’t, there were moments where he could have easily gotten rid of you. But more because he slowly started to change his impression he had from you. At first he had thought that you were just an annoying fangirls from L, like all the others he had himself. But you weren’t. You were more than that. You were surprisingly witty and fun to be with. Not only that, but you were also hardworking and had a good heart. You were the kind of human he wanted to have in this rotten world. You were purehearted. Even to him you became a bit more friendly over time despite knowing who he was. He couldn’t help, but sometimes suddenly think that you must have been sent here for a reason. To be sent here from some force that wanted to show Light the embodiment of perfection. So he started to change his plans. Instead of killing you he decided to make you his goddess/god and not only ruling over his world, but over yours as well.

✍️🍰L had been obsessed with you the moment you had arrived here, only pouring fuel into his fire of obsession after proving to him from where you really were. He obsessed over the fact that there was so much more in this universe he didn’t know. What other secrets were out there? Due to this he probably didn’t even realize when his obsession started becoming more romantic towards you, needing a long time until he understood that he had fallen in an unhealthy love with you. And suddenly his questions started revolving only around you, wanting to know very private things about you which even caused you to become uncomfortable.

✍️🍰L had a huge advantage in here because he was your favorite from everyone in Death Note. And that was unacceptable for Light. Why would you, his future queen/king want to spend any time with him? An sugar addicted insomniac? You should realize that Light was your future king, your god, your protector, your everything. But you just ignored him, choosing always L over him. And Light just knew that that bastard enjoyed it.

✍️🍰Both of them knew of their feelings for you and none of them was ecstatic about this. But L had the better cards in this games, being able to convince you into spending the majority of your time with him. And Light couldn’t do much about it, having to bite his tongue whenever he saw the both of you together and almost storming over and rip that guy away from you when he was touching you. The Death Note was maybe his preferred way of getting rid of every obstacle in his way, but by now he was ready to jump on L and strangle him because he didn’t even know that guy’s real name.

✍️🍰Another huge obstacle for Light was Misa, who was for him by now besides L the second biggest pain in his ass. Because you had told him one time before that he should feel glad to have someone as lovely as Misa as his girlfriend, always pushing him away with the words to better spend time with his girlfriend. Misa didn’t know about you for which Light was thankful, but whenever Misa touched him he couldn’t help, but cringe at this. What he wouldn’t have given to have you instead of Misa kissing him.

✍️🍰Now to the separate endings. If Light wins he will get rid of L, which will most likely sadden you very much even though you knew that this would happen. Light would at first try to keep you a secret from Misa, but he won’t be able to hide you forever from her and it will end with Light manipulating her into keeping an eye on you when he is busy with work. Light with his god complex would want to find a way back to your world to get rid of criminals and bad people in there as well. He won’t be just god of his world, but of yours as well. If L wins then you were able to push him with your subtle gestures and words into the right direction and helping him with convicting Light and Misa. L has a undeniable fascination with your world and would use the chance to explore it if he should ever get the chance too. He might find some sweets he hasn’t in his world. But I also believe that he would prefer to stay with you in his world since he is in his world able to keep you with him protect you.

Okay so this is actual death note spoilers, I’ve watched it such a long time ago tho so a lot of my info might be wrong

So death note is about this high schooler? I think? High school or young adult with a god complex due to always getting Hugh marks and being the son of a high up police detective. This is Light. He’s zonin out during class when a BOOK falls from the sky and at first he’s just like “ok weird ill leave that alone” but then he decided a to pick it up. Its a death note, its blank? Curious oh well he takes it home. Next thing he knows he’s in his room with an affront to god. That’s a Shikijami, his names Rujuk? I think I know its said like rook, like the chest piece.

Thing is the kids god complex wasn’t very visible until he realized he could kill people by writing their names on the death note and they die at the specified time with the specified cause of death. He goes a little crazy, killing anyone that is a criminal on the tv. Eventually this gets the attention of the Police bc every criminal is dying the Same Way. So obv they start looking, they can’t find this Kira, he starts to get attention online and this faceless identity gets a lot of attention and some fans.

Police hire a prodigy detective named L, I think L and Light are around the same age. I ship them bc its funny. L is SET on Light being Kira, there is no explanation on why. L cannot get any evidence to pin it on Light. Pretty much this is where the “if light *breathes* he’s Kira” meme comes from.

During this time Light is approached by Mmmm let me go search up her name- MISA! This girl name Misa, she wants to date him, he says no, she reveals she knows he’s Kira and that he has a deathnote. How? She has one too. They end up dating with light just using her for her deathnote and obsession with him (again he does not at all show any interest ever in her it’s FUNNY)

Eventually Misa and Light have to be under Ls watch All The Time, this escalates to L handcuffing him and light together. Oh yeah Light can’t kill L bc of plot armor the fact that neither him nor Misa nor anyone knows his real name. Oh yeah Lights dad is also working on the Kira case with L. Lights dad believes Light is innocent and L is just Insane.

Eventually Misa sacrifices her life to get “shikajami eyes” (ignore the fact I keep spelling shijami different every time Idk how to spell it) and gets Ls name which kills her as well somehow (I forgot if she’s just shot or if she dies due to the deal with her shijami). The eyes makes it so you see everyone’s first and last name and their death date? I think?

Anyways season 2 doesn’t exist in my heart I don’t like it at all. Someone else can explain it to you.

You lay on top of your boyfriend Light. You had originally came to his house to talk about your concerns with all the people dying. But you remembered you still had English homework due and he convinced you to finish it with him. Now you two had just finished studying and honestly, English tired both of you out. His arms fell on your waist as you lay atop him. God, his cologne smelled so good! You snuggled in deeper in order to get a better whiff of it. Lemon, basil and- then you remembered what you wanted to talk about with Light.

“Light?” You said not moving from your position.

“Yeah y/n?” He looked at down at you even though it was kinda hard since you were on his chest.

“Are you scared? Your dad works at the police department...” your voice was muffled because of the angle you were laying in. 

“And?” 

“Well... it would make a lot of sense for Kira to threaten or kill you. it would show the police department that he is closing in on them and in most likely-hood would cause massive amounts of distress on the polices end," you spat out, unable to keep all this to yourself. You were unfit to see it, but Lights lips curled into a smile. This was perfect for him, you had no clue he was Kira, meaning you were safe. It meant if L ever came to question you, you would be unaffected. But still, he didn’t want it to come to that; L even coming near you was already one of his greatest fears

“I haven’t done anything wrong y/n, Kira only kills bad people,” he trailed his hand up your back, stopping at your head and ever so gently started caressing your h/c hair. There was a long pause before he said “what do you think of Kira?” and an even longer pause after. 

“I...” you were never good at putting your thoughts, feeling into words or actions. After all, aren’t feelings supposed to be felt internally? “I think there are some people who deserve to go to prison and others that deserve to die” you shifted your head uncomfortably. 

“Oh? Well who do deserves to die?”

“Well hypothetically of course,” your thumb twitched a little as you said this. You didn’t want like to think you were a monster, right? I mean even thinking about sentencing someone to death is beyond forgivable, right? 

“Yeah, hypothetically,” 

“In that case then rapists and domestic abusers. I think rape should be punishable by death, it sickens me to my core that anyone could ever take such a basic human right away from someone; like consent, And as for domestic abusers, no amount of prison years can never make up for the trauma they cause the other people living with them, ”  all of this was said slowly, cautiously almost. Why were you even thinking about sentencing someone to death. As sick as those people that do those things, isn’t thinking about killing someone worse? You were looking out of Lights window, you didn’t realize but it had started raining. Nor did you realize the heavy atmosphere in the room.

“Yes, I completely agree,” in all honesty he did. But he really only payed attention to three words ‘rapists and domestic abusers’. He kept note of this for later. He wanted to make a world where you felt safe. Where everyone felt safe. Because he knew he was going to have to let you go sooner or later. It always pricked at the back of his head like an itch under a band-aid. If he stayed with you and got caught, L would have to investigate you. Misa would have to know of your existence, and he couldn’t bare this thought.

At this point your eyelids had started to weigh bowling balls, head on your shoulders ached and your spine was a different story all together.  “Why don’t you go to bed now, you seem tired,”

“Alright, thanks Light.” you said your eyelids closing. 

“for what?” his hand started dragging down to your waist. 

“For putting my mind at ease.”

so. hmm. misa immediately uses it to kill her parents' murderer, definitely — it's canon that she wanted to kill him even before kira appeared. since rem is the one who gives her the death note, she wouldn't go through the "is this a prank" phase light does. [not supported by canon but: i like to think she'd make his death hurt.] she also takes the shinigami eye deal, since she did in canon for non-light-related reasons (in case she ever runs into a stalker again, i'm guessing).

preface that this ^ is the only part that i'm sure of, everything else is entirely speculation that i could be convinced out of. but here's what i'm thinking so far:

it's tempting to say she'd kill people who wronged her/who she was jealous of as well, petty murders, but i don't think so. she knows kiyomi's and yuri's and mayu's names by the time she regains her memories but never actually writes them down (and we know she's good at cyberstalking so it's not a matter of whether she knows their faces or not)…

so instead i think she mostly goes after stalkers and similar forced-entry home-invasion murderers because she's never gotten over her parents, ever. (i deliberated for a bit over if she'd even want to use it, since misa doesn't care much about justice as a concept, but i really do think power like that is addictive.) misa doesn't particularly want to be god, and she doesn't really believe in establishing peace through fear as much as just killing all her enemies [live fast! die young! slay all my enemies!], so she mixes up the methods of death*. why would she want to be caught? the world probably doesn't even notice kira is a thing now, since misa is mostly focusing on japan. maybe a few reports about dropping crime rate but that's all.

[*honestly i have not convinced myself yet on this point. is misa lonely enough that she'd want her murders to be noticed? would she become kira just to have an adoring fanbase? we know she agrees with light's agenda, but would she have the motivation to start it on her own?

i debated myself on this for ages, but eventually decided that if you want to read that version of reality you should just read this fic instead because it's gorgeous and incredibly underrated and answers this question exactly. also it has kiyomi and mikami and naomi in it. but let's go in a different direction here.]

even better: gelus's death note isn't labeled DEATH NOTE, it's labeled ARVC-5 (fun fact, that's an irl gene that can cause sudden heart attacks!), so it's not suspicious and besides misa's already goth so she doesn't even bother hiding it much.

then either one of two things happens:

A) light comes into the picture

misa is kind of fucking annoyed now. in canon she's grateful to light for killing her parents' murderer of course, but in this universe that doesn't happen, so: this guy is making everything?? so obvious?? he killed someone on live television????

misa quickly realizes that the second kira is trying to establish a greater sort of justice, though, so she calms down. sure, why not, that's a nice goal. this is a much more selfless person than her, that's for sure.

the problem is that her group of people to murder overlaps strongly with light's. misa realizes this immediately, as in canon (where she murdered two celebrities to prove she was the second kira, picking victims she knew light wouldn't so the deaths wouldn't collide). if she keeps killing without coordinating with the new guy, he'll find out she exists, and she'd rather that happen on her terms and not his. she debates just sitting back and letting him handle things, but… no, what if he messes up? what if he's not as thorough as her? and besides, this is the only man on earth who could possibly understand what she's going through!

("i'm here too, you know," rem says.

"you don't count," misa dismisses. "you're not, like, human or anything.")

so she puts her plan in motion. i think she does this pretty much the same way, except that when the task force & co. respond to her tape (with light writing the whole "i'm the real kira and i don't think you should be threatening actual police officers" thing) misa isn't desperate enough to just concede. is this guy stupid or something? they need to kill L! (well, L's been kinda useless so far, but isn't it about the principle of the thing? didn't he kill lind l tailor??) so she sends the tape thanking kira for the response, but keeps insisting on showing L on live television. since kira is obviously incompetent, she also sends him the diary page right then and there.

this sends the task force into a bit of a panic. if L goes onto tv it's game over so they have to catch the "new" kira before then. and they've only got four days!

their only lead to the identity of the new kira is the fingerprints left on the tape envelopes. aizawa is ordered to look up the fingerprints in the npa database but doesn't find anyone (because misa's friend hasn't been arrested for any crimes and so her fingerprints aren't in there). light is fucking delighted. whoever this man is, he's smart! he didn't fall for L's tricks!

aaaand okay i was going to figure out the whole plot but i genuinely have no idea how L & co are getting out of that one so i'm stopping here. in broader terms: misa finds light regardless and they team up. misa still asks to be his girlfriend and still threatens to kill any girl who light talks to but doesn't give him her death note, which surely will not backfire. in general terms i think they start out on much more equal terms because misa doesn't see him as her savior but does still say she fell in love with him at first sight. iiii don't know if they devolve into canon dynamic over time or not, someone who understands yagamane better can handle that lmao (please feel free to add on to this post!!)

B) light never shows up

honestly? i think this is the worse end. misa's motive is less prevention and more punishment imo (not that we really get much of her motive in the first place), so she never really runs out of stalkers or burglars to kill. she becomes a model, and then an actor, still. sayu likes her movies and light only knows her name in reference to his sister's infodumps. maybe she marries someone; she tries to put it off because she's searching for that one true love, her soulmate, the other end of her red string, but she never finds him and she's turning thirty soon and if she doesn't marry soon her beauty will run out and no one will want her so she traps herself into marrying someone who is desperately in love with her (and reminds her of rem) (rem has no comment on this). if he ever tries to assault her, she reasons, she can just straight up kill him. he doesn't. but she never does love him, either.

and so misa amane dies alone. as she always does.

Death Note AU where BB and A appear on the first arc.

So you know the story, Light Yagami, the top-student of his class one day finds the Death Note, a demonic notebook which allows you to kill anyone you want just by writing their name.

"The human whose name is written in this note shall die" says the first rule.

"This note will not take effect unless the writer has the person's face in their mind when writing his/her name. Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected."

"If the cause of death is written within the next 40 seconds of writing the person's name, it will happen. If the cause of death is not specified, the person will simply die of a heart attack."

Light reads these rules on the inside cover of the notebook, and thinks it is a joke. Sure, a notebook that can kill people? Absurd. But within time, he discovers this is, in fact, true. What will he do with this? Is this a curse? Will he die if he uses this?

All his questions are answered when he meets the shinigami (god of death) Ryuk, the original owner of the note. He tells Light the truth: he only dropped the note on the human world because he was BORED. He didn´t car what Light did with the not, as long as it was entretaining.

So Light decides to use the note for the humanity's good: "I'm using the Death Note to kill criminals." He said. "Soon, every bad person in the world will die of a heat attack, leaving this world for people who act good. Inoccent people will finally be able to live in peace."

And he did. And soon, people started noticing it. Criminals were dying, police was confused. Conspirancy theories started to grow. In social media, people talked about "Kira", a savior for the honest, the good, the oprressed, while police agencies seemed it as another criminal.

"What do you think about Kira?" gossip periodists asked in TV shows. "Kira?. They are my savior." Confessed pop-star idol Misamisa. Light was watching it on TV with his sister Sayu. Both were fans of Misamisa. Light slightly blushed at the idol's confession.

"Ooooh, i get it, you make that girl's dream come true, and then you tell her you're Kira" Ryuk joked, knowing only Light could listen to him (as only people who touches the Death Note can see a shinigami, and Light kept this as a secret.)

Misa left the TV studio, and walked towards the metro station. "By yourself? It is not good a pretty girl like you walk alone at night." A productor said. "Oh come on! I thought women were allowed to live by themselves on 21st century." Misa joked at his mysoginist comment.

What she didn't expect, was that this man would after follow her and catch her in a dark corner. "I LOVE YOU MISAMISA! I ALWAYS DID! IF YOU CAN'T BE MINE THEN I'LL-'' the man pulled out a knive "I'LL KILL YOU AND THEN I'LL KILL MYSELF!"

Misa was terrified, she couldn't move. Then, suddenly, the man stopped. Just moved back, walked away a few steps and fell on the floor, dead. Misa ran away screaming, terrified. Until she bumped into someone.

She looked up, it was a tall, pale, gostly woman, with dark deep red eyes and skeletic figure. When she saw her, Misa passed out. The woman kneeled to her, and touched hed her hair gently, motherly, carefully.

Misa wakes up, scared. She's not a human. She was a shinigami, a goddess of death. Misa screams.

Misa: who- who are you?

Rem: I'm Rem, the shinigami

Misa: shinigami?! You... You saved me from that stalker?!

Rem: no, it wasn't me. It was the shinigami Gealous. From a long time, you've caught his attention. He developed strong feelings for you, Misa Amane.

Misa: Ho-how do you know my name?

Rem: Shinigamis have the ability of seeing a human's name and lifespan just by looking at them. Today was supposed to be your last day of life, the day you died... But instead, Gealous used his Death Note to kill your stalker, saving your life, and breaking the rules of the shinigamis. He inmediatly turned into dust, he died because he wanted you to stay safe.

Misa: D-Death Note?!

Rem: yes, a notebook used by shinigamis to kill people by just writing their names on it.

Misa: Gealous was Kira?

Rem: no. Kira is a human who got a Death Note from a shinigami.

Rem pulled out a notebook from her pocket.

Rem: and now, everything is left from Gealous is his Death Note. Which now belongs to you.

Misa: me?!

Rem: that's what he would have wanted. Use it wisely.

Now there were not only one, but two humans with Death Notes. Misa began murdering criminals as Kira did. Deaths all arround the world continued increasing. This was no coincidence. This was intentional. Someone was planning all those deaths.

Place: a dark, dirty room. Somewhere in Europe.

Person 1: The Death Note? You are crazy.

Person 2: I'm not crazy, how else, if not, would you murder all those people around the globe, everyone from heart attacks, with no evidence of any drugs or substance?

Person 1: I don't know, but a notebook from a fantasy story doesn't seem like the answer.

Person 2: fantasy? After all we've seen, all we've lived, you dare to call this a fantasy?

Person 1: I'm realistic

Person 2: You are an idiot

Person 1: then, you are implying that Kira person is real?

Person 2: oh, of course it's real, and even more, there is more than one. The death pattern have changed these last days.

Ryuk It’s just a little something that can only happen between the owner of a Death Note and it’s shinigami. You agree to give that shinigami half of your lifespan and the shinigami allows you to have the same eyes as we do, with which you can see the true name and lifespan of any other human.

Misa: Except owners of another Death Note and that is how I found you! I can see your name but not your lifespan. That is how I first suspected you were Kira, but it was after I followed you that I had no doubt about it.

Light: You have… how long? Misa: Mmm, a few months, I think? I saw you by chance and became curious, especially when I saw this other guy already following you. He seemed to be a nuisance so I took care of him for you! Light: Wait, what g… The FBI agent. When you say “took care of him”, you mean… Misa: Wrote his name on my own Death Note. It’s really silly to think you would remember every single criminal… but that meant the world to me. Since even before meeting Rem, I knew that no matter what, I supported Kira and saw the good he was doing to the world. And when she came, I was sure I had to do everything on my power to help you out and stop whoever stood on your way. Light:… it was you, doesn’t it? You wrote the name of the fake L. Rem: I don’t really care about you, Light Yagami, either as Kira or as a human being. But if you are in any way responsible for Misa coming in harm’s way, I will not hesitate to retaliate in response and I will take away everything you cherish with me.

Light *looks at Ryuk, who looks just as surprised but just shrugs. Whatever, it was more entertainment for him. Then at Rem* You… care about Misa a lot, huh? I didn’t know Shinigamis could do that. Rem: I do. And I mean every word I said, so think carefully about your next move, Light Yagami. Light:… Light: Alright, I get it *he coaches Misa to separate from him and clean up her face with some napkins on his desk* I got it… I guess it was foolish of me to think it would be that easy. Misa: Does… does that mean you… Light: Yeah. Kira is still in business. Misa: Yay! *she hugs him again, now happy* I will do everything I can to help you, Light, I promise! You won’t ever have to do any of this alone! Light *strangely enough, there was some comfort on those words* Yeah, but… Misa, I would prefer it if you promise me you won’t hurt L. I need to know that he will be fine. He hasn’t done anything wrong that deserves death. Misa *she frowns and lowers her gaze, thinking* I don’t know. L is very dangerous. Light: Then let me handle him when the times comes, alright? I can manage him. I will find the way somehow. Misa: Well… *she looks up* but I want something in return. Light *sighs* What is that? Misa: Date me! Make me your girlfriend and then I won’t touch a hair of L’s head!
