Literally being on the outside looking in moved many things inside Marta. She has nothing, no support system to help her not just through the breakup but through every little thing in her life. We all knew she had reached her breaking point, but never in a million years would I have thought it would happen during the family lunch. And I am glad she opened up to Andrés, but it’s nowhere near enough — she still has so much to let go of — but it’s a start.
And boy am I happy for Fina and her relationship with Isidro, but I think her eagerness for the future is just an illusion and she’ll break the moment she sees Marta again. We’ll see how she reacts tomorrow when Marta tells her she feels as broken as Fina.
This will also be the turning point for Jaime and Marta’s relationship; I think he’s beginning to understand how miserable he’s making her and set her free.

I just had 5 and a half days off of work and 2 day off the week before. I have to go back to work in the morning and I really really don’t want to

I don't know how strictly accurate this is, but one of the things I find shocking about watching historical dramas is how many people there are around all the time---according to Madame de... (1953) a well-off French household in the Belle Epoque maintains a workforce of at least 3, and the glittering opera has staff just to open doors. According to Shogun (2024) you can expect a deep bench just to mind your household, and again, people who exist to open doors.
Could people....not open doors in the past? Were doors tricky, before the standardization of hinges? Because otherwise, the wealthy used to pay a whole bunch of people to do it for them in multiple contexts, and I find myself baffled.

(random s5 finale musings) tbh I don't think Marinette chose to keep The Secrets™ from Adrien because Gabriel asked her to. I feel like Marinette keeping secrets like that is so consistent with her character; she hates giving people bad news, she hates rocking the boat, she hates upsetting people, she always chooses to keep any 'controversial' information to herself for as long as she can get away with (examples: bubbler scarf, telling Queen Bee she was benched, confessing to Adrien, warning Chat Noir about Scarabella or Rena Furtive, never told Chat Noir about Chat Blanc, etc) that I just totally believe she would've done it either way. She was even already having nightmares about Adrien hating her for finding out she defeated his father, so I feel like Gabriel's request was moreso giving her a go-ahead than it was a primary deciding factor, yknow?

was going to make a joke about how jon in theory is a leftist and objectively believes in "power to the people" and all that but fundamentally he simply finds people at large to be dumb and annoying and every time someone disagrees with his opinion in a way that ticks him off he briefly becomes 100% supportive of complete authoritarianism, ideally with himself as the dictator of the known universe, and then I remembered that wouldn't actually be a joke because he did canonically do exactly that.

If Zack had survived the events of CC, literally none of the events of the main game would have happened. Not because he would have prevented or solved all the problems, but because he 100% would be fiercely overprotective of both Cloud and Aerith and just nope the two of them out of any dangerous situations (which is...everything those two do).
Oh, you want to help your friend bomb the reactor? Uh, no thank you mister, you just woke up from a coma. Go back to bed.
Yes, Aerith, you are very proficient with the bow staff but you cannot fight Sephiroth-what do you mean why not? The man has a sword the length of a car and has been trained in combat since childhood. HE WILL KILL YOU!
CLOUD IF YOU DON'T PUT THAT FUCKING MATERIA BACK RIGHT NOW I AM GOING TO-THAT'S IT. YOU'RE LOSING SWORD PRIVILEGES.
No shade onto Zack, because he is wonderful, but he would also be very understandably traumatized. And he is not interested in seeing either his girlfriend or the man whose unconscious body just dragged halfway across the earth get hurt (more) or into (more) trouble.
Cloud and Aerith are going to make poor Zack go grayer than Sephiroth.

Bingyuan modern ABO AU where Shen Yuan tutors sweet white lotus Luo Binghe and dutifully sends him off to university all prepped and ready to take the world by storm, and then three years later Omega Binghe shows up on his doorstep with a baby, all washed out with his prospects ruined and the father in the wind.
Beta Shen Yuan, furious, is determined to look after Luo Binghe and his adorable baby whilst tracking down the feckless Alpha involved and then... castrating him? Forcing him to step up? One of the two at least!
Only it turns out:
-Baby isn't actually Luo Binghe's
-Luo Binghe isn't an Omega
-Binghe also didn't wash out and in fact just came into a massive inheritance
He didn't even know Shen Yuan was living at the apartment he went to, he was bringing the baby to Shen Jiu in order to blackmail him. The baby is SJ's and Omega Yue Qingyuan's, and had been quietly sent away to avoid scandal. As the next phase of Luo Binghe's hundred-step plan to marrying Shen Laoshi, cuddling the baby in a vaguely sinister fashion while making thinly-veiled threats was vital to blocking Shen Jiu's inevitable attempts to interfere with Binghe's pursuit of his younger brother.
But then Shen Yuan opened the door and promptly drew all the wrong conclusions, and now Binghe is rethinking his entire strategy, furiously googling Alpha-to-Omega transition options and making Mobei Jun make Shang Qinghua find out how to fake a birth certificate for a stolen baby.
