ᴀʀɪsᴛᴏᴛʟᴇ ~ ᴘ. ᴊᴀᴄᴋsᴏɴ
req. none :)
summary. just a fluffy little thing about studying and basketball. you and percy are dating and you are a child of athena! you're trying to help him study...
warnings. use of (y/n), gn!reader, short as hell
eeli0r's notes. just wanna say i dont do smut no exceptions :) also: loosely inspired by that tswizzle lyric from so high school "you know how to ball, i know aristotle"
thursday, december 3
you and percy are hunched over a book, specifically an english textbook on the poetic teachings of aristotle.
you, as a child of athena, are quick to understand the teachings, and you're helping your boyfriend, percy jackson, study them for his test the next week.
"baby, focus," you say to him.
"okaaay," percy says. "fine. but i have a basketball game next week too. and it's in the cold. december, hello?"
you smile at him. "i'll be there to see it, i promise, but you have to focus right now."
percy sighs dramatically. "(y/n), why oh why would you do this to me?"
"because i want you to pass this class, love. you know, i'm a child of athena, i'm pretty much the best person for this."
as you continue to study, pulling your boyfriend back to focus every few minutes, you finally start to get somewhere. he's doing good, answering questions correctly most of the time, and you're glad about it.
when he gets the last part of an especially difficult section correct, you say "love!!! you're so good at this!!!" and kiss him.
percy laughs. "thank youuu," he sing-songs. "aristotle's also thanking you from wherever he is for getting your helpless boyfriend to finally learn his poetic teachings, (n/n)."
you grin. "you're not helpless, m'lord. you are sooo good at this, i swear."
he pulls you into a hug and peppers your face with kisses. "you're better. i love you, (n/n)."
as you keep studying, his hand finds yours on the book and curls around it. he's warm compared to your ice-cold touch.
thursday, december 10
the day of the test. everyone's putting down answers and you're doing well, as a child of athena, so you're more worried about percy.
an hour later, the exam is finished and you hand it in. you see percy, across the room by the door, waiting for you.
"hi love," you greet him. "how'd you do?"
he leans forward and kisses you. "pretty good, i think. thanks to you of course."
"babe, you're the one who retained the information," you say, taking his hand and walking out the classroom.
"right, right, i forgot." he gives you a cheeky grin. "my basketball game is in an hour. i need to go prep. see you there, love!"
you walk to the dorms of your college and kiss goodbye as he disappears into his dorm to get ready.
one hour later, you make your way to the ball court and sit down next to a few other people, an old woman and what looks to be her wife, a little boy sitting next to his mom and dad, and who you were hoping to see---percy on the court, his mom and paul sitting in the level above you, and estelle tugging on your sleeve.
"(y/n)!" estelle says brightly, slightly mispronouncing her name because of her age. "hi!!"
"hi, stelly," you say, ruffling her hair.
as the game starts, your eyes stay on percy, and you and estelle whoop the loudest when he makes a shot. every time, he looks at you and estelle and smiles, because he knows it's you and his sister.
the clock ticks, 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15...
...14, 13, 12, 11, 10...
...and it's a tie, with five seconds left, percy has the ball and...
the buzzer goes off a fraction of a second after he makes the winning shot.
"WHOOOOOOOO!" you shout at the top of your lungs. "WHOOP PERCY!!!!"
your boyfriend doesn't bother talking to his friends afterward, just runs up to you and hugs you tight.
"that was amazing!" you say as he lets you go. "that was literally amazing!"
he flips his jet-black hair. "of course it was, (n/n), i was playing."
"you are the best player on the team. alright, alright, love, let your sister hug you."
estelle hugs percy and says, "so good! so good!"
percy laughs. "thank you, stelly and (n/n). i guess i'm actually decent at basketball."
"come on, babe, we need to go get ice cream for a reward. you too, stelly, and sally, and paul." you nod to the individuals as you refer to them.
monday, december 14
as the teacher's passing out tests, you can't help but feel incredibly nervous even though you're sure you did well.
A+ 'good job'
you knew it. but how did percy do?
he looks at you from across the room (you sit in the middle-front, he sits in the back) with shining eyes. 'A+,' he mouths.
you do a fist pump to him before your teacher clears his throat. "(y/n)? percy?"
"ah, uhm, sorry," you both say in unison, before dissolving in giggles because, let's be honest, who wouldn't?

reader has a migraine in class so bad she can’t take notes and quinn!bf pulls up into her class with all her favorite foods and medicine. He also sits and takes her notes for her :p
an - Loved this request! I changed it a little bit cause it just made kinda more sense to me to make it like an online class so I hope that’s okay. I also gave reader abdominal migraines as well because that’s what I have so it was easier to explain! I had a migraine + abdominal migraine about two weeks ago and literally could not move, it was actual hell.
-
Your head was absolutely pounding, and your stomach felt like someone took a sledgehammer to it while nausea also was coursing through you. You were experiencing a migraine and an abdominal migraine at the same time, of course this started the morning you had an important class you couldn’t miss, critical information being taught today.
It was honestly even worse that the class would be on a zoom call because you’d have to stare at the screen to take the intensive and very important notes you needed for the next unit.
Quinn was worried, he’d texted you three times, being left on read immediately but getting nothing in return, not because you were ignoring him. It was just that you had been preparing a text to send him when you had to put your phone down because of a wave of nausea and your phone was just still open to your texts with him. Quinn called you, concerned with your strange behavior.
You flinched are the sound of your ringtone, your head aching. You were about to decline the call until you saw “Quinner💘” at the top of your screen. You accepted the call, putting it on speakerphone then setting in on your bedside table.
“Hey baby, are you alright?”
You heart warmed at his concern, but your head aches at the sound of his voice.
“Not really, um, I’m having an abdominal and normal migraine right now, I feel so shit.”
Quinn let out a gasp when you said this, immediately standing up from his seat on the couch in his living room and going to grab his car keys.
“Oh shit baby, m’so sorry. I’m comin’ over, okay? I’ll be there quick, with anything you might need.”
He told you this in a much quieter voice then before, which brought the smallest of smiles to your face. Somehow your boy could make you smile when you were in some of the worst pain you’d ever felt.
He stayed true to his word, showing up only 20 minutes later, with a bag of the food you could eat during abdominal migraines, ibuprofen, advil, and a stuffed canucks bear he saw in the store he thought you would like.
He let himself into your apartment, taking his shoes off and quietly entering your room, seeing you laying in the middle of your queen sized bed, curled into yourself with an arm resting on your stomach, blackout curtains drawn and your eyes screwed shut.
He didn’t say anything to you, he just put the bag down next to your bed and sat down next to you, hand rubbing over your back, up and down. You turned and slowly crawled into his arms, tucking your head into his neck and inhaling his scent, comforting you further.
“Thank you for coming baby, I love you.”
You whispered to him, clinging to him. He laid down fully on your bed so you could be more comfortable.
“‘Course sweet girl, can’t let you suffer, let alone suffer by yourself.”
You just held onto him tighter, he felt it, he felt your gratitude, your love, he knew.
“I jus’ have to take some ibuprofen real quick ‘cause I gotta class in like 15 that I can’t miss, gotta take super long notes today.”
Quinn was already denying you the second the words came out of your mouth, he knew looking at a screen, listening to your professor for almost two hours would only worsen your migraines.
“No. Baby, there’s no way I’m lettin’ you do that. I’ll take the notes, you need to just take some meds, eat something if you can, and then go to sleep baby, alright?”
There was a certain tone in his voice that you couldn’t try to argue with, a tone that at any other point would probably have you blushing and flustered, but right now, you just felt like hot garbage.
“Uh, fine, you really don’t have to Q, I really can-”
“Fuck no, baby. M’not letting you worsen your situation with a lecture, alright?”
You just nodded into his shoulder mumbling three little words that he whispered right back to you, warmth replacing your nausea for just a few seconds before it was back.
You snuggled for a few more minutes before Quinn was getting you medicine, water, and food. He asks you to tell him how to get your class pulled up and after you show him, he leaves you and goes to your living room, so that he can listen to the lecture without you hearing.
You take your meds, drink some water, and then close your eyes. You know sleeping this all off is your best bet. An hour and a half later, Quinn finished your notes and came back to bed with you, holding you. His presence definitely helped you get more comfortable, as you both sleep off your migraine.

Sailor pt.5
trying to update but math honors is kicking me in the butt so hard.
play the song.
"Sailor Song" -Gigi Perez
Summary: just when things were starting to be fine—it got worse.
Jenna Ortega x Female reader
Check out the other parts for more info!
-
No one's POV:
Monday
They both sat underneath the bleachers, some of the sun shining through.
Jenna carefully kissing Y/n, using her left hand to guide Y/n's face.
She slowly pulls away, big smile on her face.
"You taste like cherry." Jenna mumbles, both of their faces so close. Jenna looks at Y/n'a eyes then back at her lips.
Y/n looks away.
"It's my chapstick." She mutters back. Jenna grips Y/n's jaw making her look at her. "Yes, Jen?"
"Mmm, nothing." She lies down on the grass. "I had this terrible math quiz today—gosh, I scored so bad on it."
"Yeah? You study?"
"No I didn't—"
"Okay, whose fault is that?" Y/n smiles at Jenna.
"Um, yours. You were the wanted to sneak in during my studying hours—"
"You begged me to come over!"
Jenna giggles.
"I have no regrets!"
The bell rings.
Both teens groan, Y/n flops onto the grass beside Jenna.
"We should skip." Y/n suggests.
"You know I can't do that."
"I don't know why you take school so seriously—"
"Because it is important." Jenna sits up, straddling on Y/n's lap. It makes Y/n sit up. "You should start taking it more seriously too." Y/n doesn't answer, playing with Jenna's cross necklace. "Y/n?" Jenna questions. "Im being serious."
"Mhm." She puts her hands on Jenna's waist, leaning up close.
"I..have to go."
"Yeah?"
"Yes, Y/n." Y/n kisses Jenna's neck making her breath hitch. "Y/n."
"Hm?"
"Y/n—I have to go—" Jenna takes a deep breath trying to make her words sturdy as she says them.
"Im sure being late to one class won't hurt, Jen."
Jenna lets out a huff debating her options.
"Five minutes only."
-
"You're late miss L/n." Her science teacher explains as she walks in the class.
"Sorry, lost track of time." She doesn't look at the teacher just walks to her desk.
"Dude you're 20 minutes late." Mason looks at Y/n confused. 5 minutes were from Jenna, the other 15 were from Y/n just laying in the grass talking to herself.
"Yeah, well I just wanted to lay in the grass, you know?"
"Just laying in the grass? You sure nothing with Jenna?"
"Man when will you guys stop with that? I already told you a million times she told me to leave her alone. Thats it."
Y/n was lying straight through teeth, and to her best-friend. But, it was all for Jenna.
"Right, so Im suppose to believe that after you keep ditching us during our gaming time to go to sleep?"
"Hey, Im tired nowadays!"
"You literally sleep 24/7–"
"Thats a lie me and Jasmin are on the game until 6 in the mornings on Tuesdays and Thursdays."
"You guys have a schedule?! And why am I not invited?!"
"Because you suck at call of duty!"
"Thats not true I have 21 wins—"
"Jasmin carries you every-time!"
"So you show up to my class 20 minutes late, and want to just make a huge scene in the back of my classroom?" Their science teacher says. "Detention for you Miss L/n."
Y/n groans.
"Um, with due respect Mrs.Ramirez—"
"Detention for you too, Mason."
-
Tuesday
It was 2am. Y/n had snuck through Jenna's window for the 3rd time that week. She'd usually stay for a few hours until Jenna's parents got up.
"Okay, what's the origin of the x if you have to rotate the triangle?" Y/n held up one of the flashcards looking for Jenna's response.
"Shouldn't it be 0,0?" Jenna stops pacing in her room looking at Y/n.
"If..it wasn't rotating then yes that would be the answer."
Jenna groans.
"So, Im wrong."
"You're definitely not right—"
Y/n's laugh is cut off by Jenna tackling her onto her bed.
"You're definitely not right." Jenna mocks Y/n's tone. It makes Y/n laugh even more.
"Okay seriously we have to focus Jenna, the quiz is next week!"
“I need a break.” Jenna huffs, then lays her head on Y/n’s chest.
Jenna loved the way she felt right now, the way she felt you breathe in every breath, the way your chest went up and down, the way she could hear your heartbeat. She looks up at Y/n slowly inching her way to her lips.
Y/n begins closing the gap between the two girls, making their lips touch. Jenna adjusts her position getting on-top of Y/n. The kiss gets deep, so Y/n uses her elbows to support her getting up.
Y/n begins taking off her shirt, with the help of Jenna. She feels all over Y/n’s body, getting deeper and deeper into their love.
Jenna told no one about the way she felt with Y/n. The way their lips moved so in sync with each other, the way her golden cross necklace came off that night, the way Y/n touched her like no one has before, and the way each touch felt like heaven on her skin. She’d been told heaven would be without this—without Y/n’s touch, without their love. At this time Jenna wasn’t sure she wanted to go to heaven, if heaven would be without this. Be without her and Y/n. It was impossible.
-
Friday
There Jenna’s mother sat. On their couch scolding Jenna, her father as well. Her mother had caught Y/n and Jenna underneath the bleachers—not doing anything, just hanging out.
“We were just talking mom—“
“That girl is bad news! Everyone in town knows she’s gay.” Her mother yells.
“She walks around like it’s something to be proud of! It’s the devils curse!” Jenna’s father adds on, he paces in the kitchen.
“I don’t want you hanging out with her. She’s is the devil!”
“No she isn’t! You don’t even know her! How can you say?”
“Why are you defending a faggot Jenna!” Jenna’s father screams at the top of his lungs.
“You guys promote loving everyone and anyone! How can you say this? You say you love God, but God wouldn’t want this! This is horrible! You guys are horrible!”
Jenna’s mother scoffs.
“You know better, Jenna.”
“I hate you guys.”
Jenna stands up.
“And where do you think you’re going?” Her dad stops pacing, looking at Jenna.
“Why do you even care?”
She runs out the front door. She doesn’t stop for her mother or father’s protests. Jenna just keeps running to the one place that felt like heaven.
-
She knocks on the front door.
“Jenna? Hi, come in.” Y/n’s mother says opening her door more. She walks in. “Y/n’s up stairs I think doing homework!”
“Thank you, Miss.” Jenna runs up the stairs. She doesn’t even knock, running into your room.
“Mom—I told you—oh shit, hi pretty?” Y/n looks confused. “You okay?” She looks at Jenna’s panting, the sweat on her face, her chest going up and down. Jenna shakes her head ‘no’. “What’s wrong?” She takes Jenna to the bed sitting her down.
“Y/n.” Jenna’s eyes water.
“Whats wrong, Jenna? What happened?” Y/n’s voice gets more stern.
“My parents—“
“Shit, do they know?”
“No, they don’t. But, they saw us hanging out earlier and want me to stay away from you.”
Y/n sigh, shaking her head.
“It’s okay, Jenna. You do what you need to do. I understand.”
Y/n knew the time would come—the time where they couldn’t hide it anymore, and she wasn’t willing to risk Jenna’s future or family relationship for her and Jenna’s relationship.
“No, Y/n, no.” Jenna grabs Y/n’s hands interlocking them.
“Jenna they’re gonna catch on, if we stop now…they won’t ever know.”
“I need you.”
“Jenna—“
Jenna kisses Y/n. The feeling makes Jenna calm down after all the emotions she had just had run through her.
“I love you.”

Please could you do a part 2 for sub!Larisa? Maybe they get caught or close to being caught aswell?
Glutton for Punishment pt. 2
Larissa Weems x dom!reader (NSFW)
Authors Note: This story is a combo of ideas from the past day or so. Another anon asked for a spank fic. There is a edit made by @miaivy of Gwen that is next level hot (so go take a gander). Then there was the photo inspo (found below) from @sapphicsbeloved combined with this ask. I just had to do it guys.
You had been sitting at your desk, grading last weeks assignments when your phone buzzed. It was the final class of the day and you had given your class the afternoon to finish up projects or work on homework for other classes. You had been drinking water when you saw the message from Larissa.
You immediately start choking, starting a coughing fit that causes all of the students to perk up their heads. You wave a hand and turn away from them, trying to still yourself.
She sent the following photo with no context whatsoever. Be still my aching vagina, you thought to yourself.
You immediately shoot back a text. Only imagining what tonight was going to be like when you got home.
Y/n: What if I had been driving right then? I could have died.
Larissa: I guess you would have died happy.
Y/n: Touche
Larissa: When are you done today? If you don't get home soon, I might just have to take care of this ache between my legs by myself.
Y/n: Be home in 20. Don't touch yourself until I get there.
You were watching the clock like a hawk for the rest of class, stopping to glance once again at the picture she had taken of herself. Rarely did she use her abilities to change things like her hair color, which you didn't mind, but she looked incredible in the photo.
That next 15 minutes of class took hours. Quickly you scooted your students out the door, leaving and locking the classroom after them. You had 5 minutes to get back to Larissa's.
Once you were in the front door, you let your coat and bag fall to the floor, kicking off your shoes and immediately headed towards the bedroom where you were sure Larissa was waiting for you. You were unbuttoning your shirt, shedding it from your shoulders when you stopped in the doorway of your shared room. Larissa was in the bed, already touching herself. She knew what was coming now that she had disobeyed your orders.
She looked you directly in the eyes as she slipped her fingers in and out of herself. Larissa was propped up on pillows, her lingerie set still on. You thought your head would explode at the sight of her sprawled out on that bed touching herself.
"You know you're in trouble right?" You growled. Larissa maintained her pace, you could tell she was getting close. Her second hand moved down between her legs, beginning to play with her own clit. She tossed her head back with a moan.
You enjoyed listening to her moans and groans while you gathered the chafe free rope that would be your assistant for the night. You heard Larissa's orgasm first. Spinning around, you finally made your way over to the bedside, Larissa had her fingers in her mouth while making searing eye contact with you.
"Are you ready for your punishment?" You stood at the bedside, fully clothed apart from your partially unbuttoned shirt.
She nodded slowly, pulling her fingers from her mouth. Then she offered a recommendation that made you lick your lips, "I think I need to be spanked."
"I think you're right." You smirk as you watch Larissa get onto all four and crawl to the edge of the bed, offering you her fingers first. You took them in your mouth, tasting whatever remained on them.
She knew the routine. You moved away from her, sitting on the chaise lounge in the corner of the room, and she laid herself across your lap, awaiting your hand. You gently give her ass a squeeze, "I told you not to touch yourself..."
"But I did..." Larissa finished your sentence, earning herself the first of many spanks that evening.
"I'm starting to think you like making me mad, hmm?" You hum, gently stroking her ass cheek before giving her three solid spanks.
She hummed in delight at each time your hand made contact with her ass, "Mhmm."
"Like I said, you are a glutton for punishment." You growl, proceeding to spank her until both of her ass cheeks were bright red and you could feel her wetness through the knee of your pant leg.
"I think it's time..." You lean in to whisper into Larissa's black hair.
You feel her nod and swallow deeply. She was aching with anticipation. You took her back to the bed, gently tying her to the bedposts. The ropes attached to her arms were longer so her ass could sit right on the edge of the bed. She gave a breathy moan each time you finished tying a knot.
Once she was restricted in front of you, you stroked her stockinged shin, pressing a kiss to her knee, "Pick a number between 5-10."
"8."
"8 orgasms it is." You smile as she exhaled deeply, shutting her eyes in frustration. While she knew she could handle that many, she was going to be a mess afterwards.
You move from Larissa, pulling over a chair, and seat yourself in front of the woman, Now this is fine dining.
Moving slowly, you kiss her thighs and stomach, putting your lips everywhere she didn't want them. After a huff of frustration from Larissa, you make your way down to her black lace clad pussy. You trace a finger up and down which makes her squirm, pulling against the restraints. Finally, you pull them to the side.
"Shhh..." You hush her as you slowly lower your lips, parting them with your tongue and you begin eating Larissa. You wanted to go slow, but as soon as you had your first taste you couldn't help yourself from offering her the speed and intensity that brought on her first and second orgasms quite easily.
Suddenly, you heard a noise from outside the bedroom door, making you pull away from Larissa's dripping cunt. You make your way to the door, gently cracking it open, coming face to face with one of your coworkers.
"I was wondering where you were. I told Vlad you were probably just getting ready."
Your look of bewilderment made the teacher continue forth with her explanations.
"You do remember the dinner party, right? Vlad and I are here for wine night?"
You had totally forgotten. In the heat of the moment, the plans must have completely slipped your mind. The visiting professor finally took in your disheveled state, partially looking over you to see the arms tied to the bed.
Quickly they look away, their lips sucked between their teeth. Their face went completely red, as was yours, "You know I think Vlad and I should be going. We can just reschedule this for a different time."
"Perhaps." You nod, wanting them to leave so badly.
"We will show ourselves out." You shut the door and lock it before they even have the chance to truly walk away. You really didn't care at this point. You had a job to finish.
----
Larissa was on her sixth orgasm when her eyes began to water. She was wondering if she could actually make it two more. Her cries of ecstasy had been nonstop. You hadn't looked at a clock. You had no clue how long you had been at this.
The more she came, the more sensitive she was. Using your fingers now, you gently circled her clit, not wanting to apply to much pressure. The longer you went, the more she pulled and trashed against the restraints.
You gently pushed against her bud and then begin circling it again, pressing on it once again. Larissa was now screaming with an orgasm. Afterwards she kept repeating, "Please, please, please..."
"One more time baby..." You whisper, lifting your head. Gently you began untying the restraints around her legs, allowing the ropes to fall to the floor. Before she could move her hips away, you take ahold of her once more. You pressed forward. Lowering your lips to her pussy, you begin the slow journey of making her cum for the last time. You lick the length of her, taking your time to taste the cum leaking from her.
You were fully entranced in the process. Your mouth was slick with her juices. Your arms wrapped around her legs, fingers digging into her skin. She was mewing, her whines high pitches. Her hips involuntarily bucked against you, spurring you onwards.
You were trying to be as gentle as possible, circling her clit for the last time, avoiding any heavy pressure that would most likely send little shockwaves of pain through Larissa.
A loud gasp came from Larissa as her final of the orgasm of the night rocked through her, her legs moving to squeeze the sides of your head. As she finally releases you, you press kisses to her legs, allowing her to come off her high.
"Did you learn your lesson?" You ask, standing from your chair.
"Did I?" She asks in response. A breathy laugh escaping her lips as she gazed back at you, eyes heavy with lust. She certainly does not tire easily.

Maddening
We are super lucky to live in NYC where special ed services are much more robust then most of the country. And yet its still a maddening process.
We got back his CPSE report. It felt pretty brutal to read. Some of it feels so off baseline from what we see. The fine motor skills/sensory issues are accurate - he has trouble controlling his body 100%. They claimed he can't name body parts, can't build with blocks, can't speak with more than one word. All things he's been doing for ages. Last week his teacher told me he built a big castle with magnatiles. Put him in 1 percentile scores for various things. On some things said he is 78% delayed. On another said he as at the level of a 11 month old. An 11 month old can't even walk!
Talked with a special ed consultant this morning. She said I need to accept his baseline is the report and not how he acts in his safe place around us. Which I don't really understand. Or maybe I would if he only did those things for us but he does these things with various people. At the park he interacts/talk with kids all of the time. He learned his letter, letter sounds, colors, shapes, etc, etc at daycare with other people. He's friendly with strangers regularly after an initial period of shyness. He met his father for the first time since he was a baby this weekend. I warned his father he will be shy for the first ten minutes - if you give him space he'll then open up. He did exactly that including talking in full sentences after the first ten minutes. The psych met with him for 45 minutes. The speech evaluator for 20 minutes and the OT for 20 minutes. The report from his school was positive. It said he is a quiet, happy child who interacts regularly with his peers and makes eye contact. Although that was also from a social worker who came in to evaluate him for only thirty minutes because his main teacher is on emergency leave. So I don't have a lead teacher I can ask.
The special ed consultant said we should go for the special ed school. She recommended I call around to see if any have any spots. A few places said they have wait list so those are out. A few places refused to tell me if they had wait list or not until after our IEP meeting. Why would that be secret information? IEP meeting is Nov 1. Of course, none of the schools would give us a tour. The consultant said we need to stay open to the idea that special ed is the best for him. How can I do that when they won't even let me take a tour??? I could tour/visit every gen ed public school in the freaking city before deciding But no tour of a special ed school? How does that make any sense?? The special ed consultant said we can always put him in and then the special ed school will tell us if he does not need to be there. Of course, its not that easy. He's gen ed school has a wait list of 80. They will fill his spot the second he leaves.
The other option is getting a special ed masters degree (SEIT) teacher to sit with him for two hours a day in his current school. It will also include three times thirty minutes of OT, PT and speech per week. So he will have individual/specialized care for 14.5 hours a week. The class naps for five hours a week. He's in school for 30 hours per week. So 19 hours out of 30 he'd have individualized care or be asleep. Which feels like a big jump from the two thirty minutes OT sessions PER MONTH I had to BEG for up to this point. I'll keep him in the private pay OT two times per week until I feel comfortable that what he's getting at school is adequate.
His current class has three teachers for 15 kids so a better ratio then the special ed class. The special ed class would most likely have 12 kids for two teachers. Assumingely, they would be kids with higher needs. There are classes with eight kids and two teachers we could ask for but those kids would have more severe needs so it doesn't feel helpful. One of the teachers would have special ed degree - which obviously would be nice. From pictures online the building/spaces at these school did look nicer but hard to tell without a tour? I'm fine with our current school's facilities but they aren't fancy. We do have a really nice playground area. Some of these special ed places did look fancy. Apparently there are a few places with inclusive classrooms for 3K but they are impossible to get a spot in for this year. Maybe if I start fighting now for next year??
Of course, finding the SEIT teacher who's not already booked could also be difficult. I've started calling around. You are supposed to wait for the IEP meeting but I want to know if finding one is even a possibility. Sitting around waiting is not doing him any favors. I don't trust the CPSE team to find him someone within any reasonable time frame. At this point I doubt he'll start services until December 1st and that's with me pushing every step of the process.
Anyway, I've mostly decided I need to go with my gut and try to get the SEIT. I think the consultant and the CPSE people will think I'm a person who doesn't want my kid to have a diagnosis and/or a mom in denial. I'm going to have to be okay with that. I know myself well enough to know that I'm not going to deny my kid services because I don't want him to have some label. I'm fine with labels. In fact, I love labels that will get him services he needs. I'm cheap. I don't want to pay for OT. If he gets a SEIT we will get an expert who can see him interact with his peers and give us their honest advice. We can always put him in a special ed school for 4K. It will be easier to find a spot then, anyway. If we start getting negative reports from school we can reevaluate.
I keep remembering my friends advice to wait it out. As he ages will see more of what issues are three year old based and what sticks around. He's happy and he's making friends. That's what matters to us.

New Zealand Part 1 (Week 11)
One of the beautiful things about studying at UNSW is that during week 6 of our studies, we get a flexibility week where the majority of courses don’t hold class and students are given the chance to catch up with schoolwork, get ahead, or do nothing and just relax! My hostel-mates and I knew about this opportunity from the day we got here, so a big trip was always in the works. We even knew that we all wanted to spend the time in New Zealand. The only problem? There’s 18 of us living in the hostel together and we’ve had enough trouble planning trips for just 5 or 6 people, let alone 18. Everyone had a different vision of what a trip to New Zealand could look like between camping, or renting cars and staying in AirBnBs, or living out of campervans. Needless to say, the trip planning was procrastinated all through the 4 weeks of summer and another 4 weeks of term 1. Once in a while someone would say, “Guys, we really have to plan this. Plane tickets are getting expensive!” and they’d be met with more approval and support than a professor who has suggested extending a homework deadline. But, as expected with our group, no action would be taken. Until one person sits down and buys themself a roundtrip flight to New Zealand, nobody is going anywhere. Soon enough, after intense procrastination and discussion, tickets were bought, plans were made, the group of 14 (four couldn’t make it) had divided into two campervans and two cars (who would be staying in AirBnBs), and I was sitting on a plane to Queenstown.
^^ Landing in Queenstown
Queenstown may not be among New Zealand’s 20 largest cities, but it is renowned for its adventure sports and stunning scenery, earning it the nickname "Adventure Capital of the World," as my friend Elizabeth would say. Our adventures in Queenstown, however, were put on hold until the end of the trip as we had a road trip planned that would take us up north to Christchurch and then back down to the Adventure Capital. So, on our first day there we picked up our car rentals and headed to Fiordland National Park for a quick hike. The greenest plants, mossiest rocks, and most colorful mushrooms riddled the paths and made our short hike one of the most memorable.
^^ Some New Zealand Flora
I also felt a lot safer hiking in New Zealand compared to Australia. New Zealand has none of the snakes that Australia is infamous for and has an almost negligible amount of dangerous spiders compared to the numbers Australia boasts! With our glow worm cave tour waiting for us in Te Anau, we had to get back on the road quickly. Lucky for us, there are worse places to be driving than one of the most naturally beautiful countries in the world where mountains surround you in every direction and lakes bluer than the sky itself pop up out of the blue (pun intended) every few moments. We weren’t allowed to take pictures in the glow worm caves, but imagine yourself sitting on a boat in a pitch black cave with little blue/green specks scattering the ceiling. That was pretty much it! It was interesting to learn about the glow worms themselves – they glow brighter the hungrier they are (to better attract flies) and they’re actually larvae, not worms, so they just need to survive long enough to turn into gnats and reproduce. You may be wondering why I’m sharing so much detail about random worms. Well, as a recent trivia night attendee (two weeks in a row), I see every random fact as a future topic in trivia. You can thank me later.
^^ Just the average roadside view while driving along the west side of the South Island!
Milford Sound was next on the list. Just a two hour drive from Te Anau with the option of a bus service to shuttle you there and back, Milford Sound is a large fiord stretching 9 miles (or, 15 km should I say) to the open sea. Once there, a boat cruise takes you down to the ocean and back while passing waterfalls, dramatic cliffs, and some popular scuba diving destinations. Milford Sound was highly recommended as an activity on our itinerary, and it truly lived up to the hype! From the stops on the bus ride to the scenic cruise, I was in a constant state of awe that I will never forget. The rest of the trip was just as exciting, but I’ll cover it in the next post! Until then, Cheers!

Don't Go

You set your books and notes down on a table in the empty library. Sejun would join you shortly for your tutoring session. You had been meeting every day after school ended for 7 weeks now, and it had quickly become your favourite event.
You thought it was funny - you used to hate the idea of having to tutor someone. Being responsible for teaching them a concept they already should have learned from the teacher? Having to sit through and explain it to them a million times before they finally get it, cause they’re slow? It sounded like torture.
But Sejun wasn’t like that. He was smart, quick-witted, funny, and overall pleasant to spend time with. You rarely had to explain something more than once before he got the hang of it. The tutoring sessions were less because he was falling behind, but because he was gone during usual school hours.
He told you that training to debut as a k-pop idol wasn’t that demanding, but you could tell it drained him. He sometimes came to tutoring already tired, and you worried he didn’t get enough sleep.
You checked the time on your phone again. Today was a tight schedule, as you had to catch a blind date right after the tutoring session. You weren’t originally planning for it to be today. And you were nervous to go, but your best friend was determined to get you a boyfriend before the second semester. You’d have to apologise to Sejun for having to end early today.
You spotted his pink hair in the hallway, walking into the library with a dimpled smile. Your mood shot up from just the sight of him. Just normal friend things… You thought, somehow convincing yourself before he came to sit down next to you.
“‘Afternoon!” He greeted cheerily.
“Good afternoon.” You laughed, flipping open your book and grabbing a pen. “Shall we start?” He nodded eagerly, resting his head on his hand, and looking at you.
You felt a little flustered by his stare today, but you shook it off. It’s just Sejun, this is normal.
You began to explain the concepts that you had learned in the class that he had missed last Thursday. You went over the math first, as it was relatively simple to explain and the homework was light for the week.
As you talked, Sejun zoned out a bit. The light from the window behind him shone on your face, lighting it up in the most magical way. He wasn’t sure what the special occasion was, but you wore a light yellow dress instead of your casual wear.
He kept tracing a line from your hair down to your neck with his eyes, always finding himself stopping at your lips for a moment, lingering. He had to shut down the thoughts in his head immediately. Don’t think about kissing her and make this complicated.
You finished explaining how to do this new way of problem-solving, and handed over a worksheet to Sejun. He had barely heard a word you said, and it took a lot of effort to tear his eyes off your pretty face and to the boring worksheet.
He looked over the problems, realising that he really should have been listening. But, he figured out how to solve them without your helpful instructions, and finished all 15 problems in 20 minutes.
He turned back to you, smiling, “I finished.”
You had gotten out your makeup bag to try to touch up your face in time for the blind date. You turned back to him, brush stuck in midair, “Right, let me check over them…” You glanced at the paper, nodding at his neat handwriting and quick, effective solutions to all the problems.
“Perfect. What would you like to do next?” You asked, looking back to your hand mirror for a second, before putting away your makeup brushes and small palette.
“What’s the occasion?” He asked, observing you. He’d never even seen you wear makeup, or a dressy outfit during a tutoring session. But today, you adorned both, not helping his struggle to suppress the urge to kiss you.
“I have a blind date after this.” You said, “I should’ve told you before, but we might need to end early today.”
“What?” He asked, shocked. His eyes had widened slightly, and he bit the inside of his mouth to try to stop himself from saying what he was about to.
You shrugged, “I don’t know, my friend set it up for me. Might as well go? She wants me to get a boyfriend before the second semester, and I don’t know anyone else who’s going to ask me out.”
“Don’t go on the blind date.” He said suddenly.
“What? Why-”
“Don’t go.” He said seriously, surprising you. He always had a light, happy air to him, but right now, he seemed dead serious. You gulped, looking back at his dark eyes and matching his stare.
You watched as his eyes stayed on your eyes, then flickered down to your lips, and then he broke eye contact entirely, looking away with a sigh.
“Sejun… Why do you care whether I go on a blind date or not? I know it’s not because it’s cutting into your tutoring time. You don’t care about stuff like that.” You said slowly.
“I can’t say why.” He responded, and you felt more confused than ever. What reason could he possibly have that he couldn’t even tell you?
“Then I’m going on the date.” You concluded, turning back to your bag.
“I said, don’t go.” He said desperately, grabbing your wrist. You froze up with the physical contact, turning back to him yet again.
He didn’t give you time to say anything before he was moving closer to you, and within an instant, you felt his lips touch yours. Your eyes closed as a response, and your heart pounded in your chest. Lim Sejun? Kissing you?
He pulled back, “If you need to get a boyfriend so badly, at least give me a chance, not some random dude you’ve never even seen.” He whispered, looking away again.
“Do you mean it?” You asked, making him look back at you.
“Why wouldn’t I?”
“Just needed to make sure before I do this.” You explained, leaning in quickly to press a kiss to his lips. “I won’t go on the date. You’ve convinced me.” You smiled at him, eyebrows raising, before you pretended to turn your attention back to your books.
You observed him from the corner of your eyes, fighting back a smile when you saw him blush and smile widely, looking back to his paper.
“You’ll be my girlfriend… right?”
You nodded, “‘Why wouldn’t I?’’’ You repeated his words from before, making you both giggle softly.
“I’ll take you to get ice cream after this is over.” He said, giving you a pretty dimpled smile.
“Why isn’t it over already, then?” You asked, looking back and forth between him and the textbooks that neither of you were going to study anyway. He smiled cheekily, grabbing the books and putting them back in his bag.
“Let’s go.” He held out his hand for you, and you took it gingerly, your heart racing in your chest again.

Best Yoga Apple Valley CA
Top Rated Yoga Studio Apple Valley CA
youtube
In the last few years, I've noticed an increasing number of people in my vigor getting into yoga. A good friend who used to play in in finance took it taking place and told me that he found it calmed him down and helped him focus. other friend told me not quite her yoga studio, which she has visited for years, and how she has gotten to know the additional people who go there. My sister told me not quite a series of workshops on yoga and meditation, at the stop of one of which you are asked to wander concerning the room afterward your eyes closed, a task that apparently gets easier greater than time. I've never ended yoga myself, but I identify afterward all these stories. afterward many people I know, I am often distracted - my mind wanders - and I desire to find ways to greater than before focus on what is right in front of me: my writing, my family, my friends. I used to pull off yoga. My wife and I were both play in it, hence it was something we could pull off together. Except I was terrible at it. I wasn't bad in a quirk that's simple to ignore. There are sure calisthenics where you have to put your hands in the let breathe and savings account on one foot and gaze intently at a spot on the wall and breathe in a special way, and if you're bad at that kind of thing you can just gaze ineffectively and breathe normally and people will probably take you're play in it right but have settled not to to make a fool of yourself. But there are limits to how much of that kind of thing a class can contain, hence I couldn't just play in to pull off yoga for an hour.
Popular Apple Valley CA Yoga Sessions
I've been play in yoga for concerning a year now, at a local studio that offers classes all morning at various times. I've afterward most days for the afterward year, sometimes for two or three classes in a disagreement if I have time. I came to yoga reluctantly. I was aquiver not quite mammal in a class full of women in good assume who could change themselves into human knots even though my own body felt afterward an outmoded wooden chair that creaked afterward I moved it. But the studio is located right close my house, and the class schedule fits perfectly afterward my play in schedule. hence not quite a year ago I settled to stop ignoring it and provide yoga a try. The first few weeks were miserable. My muscles were weak from sitting at a desk all day, and they harm afterward hell after each class. Despite the fact that I was probably the oldest person in each class by 15-20 years, everyone else seemed to be nimble to pull off all the poses without even trying. Meanwhile I was struggling just to stand taking place straight. But there was something not quite the classes that kept me coming incite for more--the instructors were encouraging and upbeat; we did poses that worked alternative parts of our bodies on alternative days; and there was something relaxing not quite lying on my incite grating to blank my mind I have been taking yoga classes for three weeks now, and I have to say it's kind of a secrecy to me. I've ended some additional exercise classes before, and this one is unconditionally alternative from anything I've tried. The class moves slowly and deliberately through various positions, afterward a lot of stretching and holding poses for extended periods of time. In the start of class, we are all lying on the floor and just animated for several minutes. I'm not sure what that's expected to accomplish, but it feels good.
Apple Valley CA Beginners Yoga Classes
Yoga has many benefits, both mammal and mental. The help of yoga are all the more pronounced if you practice it regularly. Yoga helps in weight loss, put emphasis on relief, detoxification, reducing cholesterol levels and adaptable blood pressure. It afterward improves your body posture, reduces incite headache and increases flexibility. If you pull off yoga on a regular basis it can be unconditionally working for weight loss. Yoga is a good quirk to lose weight as it helps burn calories which in slant helps shed additional pounds; however, losing weight is not the main set sights on from working yoga. Although some forms of yoga can be strenuous and make you sweat, they will not adore your heart rate satisfactory to provide you an aerobic workout. If you desire to lose weight, cardio exercise along afterward your yoga practice would incite you reach this more quickly. Yoga is a astonishing supplement to any fitness program. It is good for put emphasis on help and that alone is worth making get older for it in your day. Some people find that afterward they start play in yoga they tone greater than before mentally and physically concerning quickly even though others declaration results greater than get older as they continue afterward their practice. Yoga has many help but it isn't right for everyone; therefore, back start any exercise program including yoga it is best to consult your doctor or health Yoga is a good quirk to mass flexibility, balance, and strength. Work in Progress
(Soap Opera Weekly 97)
Sitting over lunch in the ABC commissary, Julie Pinson (Eve) very bluntly descripes her first few months' work on PC: "I sucked," she says with a hearty laugh. "Wendy Riche (executive producer) and all the producers and directors had a lot of patience with us and let us find our characters. In the first three weeks, they could very easily have recast. Instead, they gave me the chance to grow into Eve, and I think she's turned into something great."
She credits co-star Kin Shriner (Scott) for her rapid improvement. "He taught me about making the character my own. After we'd wrap up at the end of the day, sometimes we'd talk, and he'd tell me what I was doing wrong or right. He really took me under his wing and taught me a lot about acting," she says.
Pinson says Shriner's feedback helped her to improve her acting.

Pinson claims that performing is in her blood. "My mother was a professional opera singer. I remember being little and watching her onstage. I was fascinated with the costumes and the makeup, and I wanted to be just like Mom." She got hooked on acting when she played Heidi in her Northern California forth grade class. "I remember all the adulation at the curtain call. My family was the loudest in the whole auditorium. I thought, 'If I do this, I'll get my family and everybody else to like me.'"
Pinson is very close to her parents; in fact, she calls herself a "typical daddy's little girl," which made it even more devastating at age 15 when her folks split up. Instead of confronting her feelings, she suffered the consequences of suppressing them. "I was in denial, and nobody recognized the signs," she explains. "I was going 'I's cool, it's cool,' and in the meantime, it was affecting me in very negative ways. I wanted to seem adult and be cool and understanding with the attitude, 'Listen, Mom and Dad, I want you to be happy, so don't worry about me.' It idnd't hit me until I was 20 or 21 when I started going, 'Dammit, why did they have to do that?'"
In retrospect, Pinson wishes she'd been more vocal about her feelings so that counseling might have been sought. "I'm a big believeer in therapy," she says. "it's helped me through some hard times. In situations like that, parents need to talk to the kids. The kids may say, 'It's cool, don't worry about it.' Unhuh," she says, shaking her head adamantly. "it will hit them eventually."
Shortly after high school, Pinson left the Bay area to work for Club Med. "It was a blast," she says, "I really learned how to be an adult, traveling by myself, not speaking the language in some places and having to fend for myself. I learned to speak a lot of languages, though, because every week there were 5oo new guests, many from Italy, Germany, France and Mexico.
"The biggest drawback was the long hours. It's a French company, so they don't have the labor laws we have in the States. Because you have to be with the guests all the time, you can't be crabby, have a bad day or be sick because there's nobody to cover for you. For the most part I just remember the good things now. After two years of that kind of schedule, I was ready to have three jobs when I moved to L.A. I was so programmed to work."
Pinson took an apartment in L.A. with her best friend, but her fear of rejection and her aversion to asking her parents for money kept her from pursuing her acting dreams. Instead, she worked for a temp agency and as a movie stand-in for a friend who was director of photograhpy. Her one line in The Mambo Kings got cut but earner her a Screen Actors Guild card, enabling her to work in the field. But she still struggled with her fears.
"Things weren't going too well," shares Pinson. "I called my dad in tears and said, 'I think I'm goingto give it up. I'm goin to get a job being a receptionist or go back to school. It's hard to live from paycheck to paycheck.' He said, 'You have always landed on your feet. You always will land on your feet. Don't give up. You will make it no matter what because that's who you are.'"
Pinson, who auditioned for three PC characters, related best to Eve.
(click on image to see full sized pic)
The actress consders her big break her screen test for the role of Billie on DAYS. Despite the resemblance to Lisa Rinna (ex-Billie), she didn't get the role. But it brought her some attention, and soon she auditioned for the part of Pilar on ATWT. After auditioning for PC, it seemed she was bound to get something, since they had her read for three roles: Eve, Julie and Karen. She was elated when she landed the part of Eve, her first real acting job. "Eve was the closest to me. I really understood her the best," Pinson says. "I love playing her because I get to be bad. I get to be sexy and I get to do things I wouldn't do in real life."
Not that Pinson doesn't have a bit of moxie of her own. "I want to jump out of an airplane, preferably with a parachute on," she teases. "And I want to get a Harley and learn to ride a motorcycle." She would also like very much to have a family some day, but everything is goin to have to wait while she focuses on her career. "I think God has a plan for me, and there's a reason why I've never had a serious relationship," she says. "I think if I'd had a serious relationship earlier on, I might not be where I am right now. There's a reason for everything."

Hungry - Chapter 2
Monday morning and it is miserable outside, here you sit, soggy from the walk to class at an empty chemistry bench. The seat beside you is usually occupied by Emily but with 2 minutes remaining it is still empty. “That is strange, she is never late”. You pull out your phone from your pocket and send a message to Emily Matt: Morning, where are you at Em? Emily: Running late! Should be about 15-20 minutes, long story, I’ll fill you in later You nobily inform Mr Fletcher that Emily is running late, he grumbles something about “Kids these days” as you retake your seat. After 15 minutes Emily enters the lab and apologizes to Mr Fletcher as she hurries to her seat next to you. “Everything ok?” you ask “Peachy… yeah, fine… not a good time” she says with almost a nervousness in her voice “Ok.... maybe later?” She nods “What did I miss?” she changes the subject You catch her up and continue the class as normal. You can’t help but notice she looks absolutely wiped out. Heavy bags sit under her eyes and she looks a bit pale. Finally the lesson ends and Mr Fletcher dismisses us. You grab your stuff and head out the door with her just behind you. You turn to meet her face when you feel a tug at your wrist, she is leading you out of the main campus building. “Where are we going?” you ask, she doesn’t respond. You decide to just go along for the journey. You arrive at her dorm and she quickly rushes you inside. The place is a lot messier than you remember from the party. “I’m sorry for being weird and the mess, I’ll explain everything, let me just get something” Before you can reply she rushes from the living room to the fridge and returns with a vial of a pink liquid. “This is why I was late to class. After I left your place yesterday I couldn’t get that asshole Brad out of my head. I wanted to show him who is a flat chested nerd” “Has she lost her mind?” you think “I can see that look in your eyes Matt, I’m sane I promise. My passion project has been to create a chemical or potion if you will that can help alter people’s appearances” You look at her like she has just told you Santa isn’t real “It’s not as insane as *Poof* I’m now a model, it alters your metabolism and redirects fat around your body. In future I hope it can alter DNA and maybe allow it to change more than just where fat is stored” “Surprisingly that scientific reasoning doesn’t make me think you sound any less insane” you chuckle, thankfully she smiles “I know it does sound crazy, I’ve been working on this for years. I have been so close for a few months to finishing it but yesterday I threw myself into the work as I wanted the distraction and I started having some breakthroughs and then without realising it was morning and I saw your text and here it is” she holds the vial high triumphantly “Wow. Em, that is super cool and it can be incredibly beneficial to the world. You could change so many people's lives and in a much less invasive way to surgery and I’m sure you can make some money off of it too” you exclaim “Yeah I guess… truth be told, I’m doing this for me right now” without any hesitation she downs the vial “EM!” you shout She lowers the vial from her lips and looks at you, your shocked face must’ve been quite the sight as she starts laughing “Hey? What's so funny?” you ask “You should see your face” she continues to chuckle “I mean you did just drink a potentially dangerous vial” “Give me some credit Matt, I’ve spent years on this” “Do you at least feel any different… or like how will you know if it worked” “I guess we need to just wait” she shrugs “could be a few hours, days or even weeks” “Quite anticlimactic I suppose. Why did you take them anyway?” “I am tired of being that “Flat chested nerd” I want to be sexy” She blushes “Move some fat around and suddenly I’ve got plump rear and more padding up top” she shakes her hips and chest. You watch her shake and imagine her changing. She notices your eyes becoming a bit blank. “Sorry Matt… a bit inappropriate but you must admit it would be nice. Anyway I’ve got to get some shut eye. Please keep this a secret and I’ll keep you updated on my progress” “Secret is safe with me. I do worry though Em, what if something bad happens?” “I’ll be fine, I’ll message you when I get up, how about that?” “Sounds good to me, I’ll get out of your hair, get some sleep”

I've never finished yoga myself, but I identify gone all these stories. gone many people I know, I am often distant - my mind wanders - and I want to locate ways to bigger focus on what is right in tummy of me: my writing, my family, my friends. I used to do yoga. My wife and I were both feat it, so it was something we could do together. Except I was awful at it. I wasn't bad in a artifice that's easy to ignore. There are definite work-out where you have to put your hands in the let breathe and report on one foot and gaze intently at a spot on the wall and breathe in a special way, and if you're bad at that nice of issue you can just gaze ineffectively and breathe normally and people will probably consent you're feat it right but have approved not to to create a fool of yourself. But there are limits to how much of that nice of issue a class can contain, so I couldn't just feat to do yoga for an hour.
Hesperia Yoga Studio
I've been feat yoga for something like a year now, at a local studio that offers classes all daylight at various times. I've gone most days for the gone year, sometimes for two or three classes in a row if I have time. I came to yoga reluctantly. I was nervous practically brute in a class full of women in good concern who could amend themselves into human knots while my own body felt gone an old-fashioned wooden chair that creaked gone I moved it. But the studio is located right close my house, and the class schedule fits perfectly gone my feat schedule. so practically a year ago I approved to end ignoring it and give yoga a try. The first few weeks were miserable. My muscles were feeble from sitting at a desk all day, and they harm gone hell after each class. Despite the fact that I was probably the oldest person in each class by 15-20 years, everyone else seemed to be nimble to do all the poses without even trying. Meanwhile I was struggling just to stand happening straight. But there was something practically the classes that kept me coming assist for more--the instructors were encouraging and upbeat; we did poses that worked every other parts of our bodies on every other days; and there was something relaxing practically lying on my assist aggravating to blank my mind I have been taking yoga classes for three weeks now, and I have to say it's nice of a secrecy to me. I've finished some additional exercise classes before, and this one is completely every other from anything I've tried. The class moves slowly and intentionally through various positions, gone a lot of stretching and holding poses for elongated periods of time. In the arrival of class, we are all lying on the floor and just vivacious for several minutes. I'm not definite what that's meant to accomplish, but it feels good.
Top Hesperia Yoga Gym
Yoga has many benefits, both brute and mental. The facilitate of yoga are all the more pronounced if you practice it regularly. Yoga helps in weight loss, bring out relief, detoxification, reducing cholesterol levels and amendable blood pressure. It afterward improves your body posture, reduces assist be killing and increases flexibility. If you do yoga on a regular basis it can be completely functioning for weight loss. Yoga is a good artifice to lose weight as it helps burn calories which in tilt helps shed additional pounds; however, losing weight is not the main strive for from functioning yoga. Although some forms of yoga can be strenuous and create you sweat, they will not lionize your heart rate acceptable to give you an aerobic workout. If you want to lose weight, cardio exercise along gone your yoga practice would assist you accomplish this more quickly. Yoga is a astounding auxiliary to any fitness program. It is good for bring out facilitate and that alone is worth making time for it in your day. Some people locate that gone they start feat yoga they mood bigger rationally and physically something like hurriedly while others statement results higher than time as they continue gone their practice. Yoga has many facilitate but it isn't right for everyone; therefore, before arrival any exercise program including yoga it is best to consult your doctor or health Yoga is a good artifice to buildup flexibility, balance, and strength. Yoga is for everyone. Yoga increases your heart rate, which facilitate your cardiovascular health. Yoga improves your posture and reduces assist pain. https://greathesperiayogagym.blogspot.com/2022/12/great-hesperia-yoga-gym.html Local Hesperia Yoga https://persianrugrepaircamppendleton398.blogspot.com/ https://persianrugrepairimperialbeach734.blogspot.com/2022/12/persian-rug-repair-camp-pendleton_0669913830.html https://www.tumblr.com/rholloway082/703706763078320128/persian-rug-repair-mission-vi https://www.tumblr.com/helicopterjoe/703739675366572032/helicopter-ride-columbus-ohio https://mdsimpleonlinemedicalmarijuanacardspa.blogspot.com/

The Blow-Up
I generally don't bother prologuing my journal entries, but I just want to say that I feel shame as I enter this piece: I can't recall yelling at a class since being a teacher of sophomore English at. Silver High School in New Mexico, 1995-6, 26 years ago. And I've seen it coming for some time with this immature, undisciplined, stupid, careless class - so I should have known better. I've been testy with them before, but today I snapped. As per usual, I stood them up (32 students, in two rows of 16) to speak face-to-face about their work, in English. They neither talk about their work, nor in English. That always bothers me, but it didn't put me over the edge. It was the rotation. We've done this exercise a score of times at least, the last person at the end of each line switches sides, and everyone slides over to face a new partner. This group fucks it up every time, sometimes on purpose (which ticks me off), and sometimes just because they're a class of clueless idiots. So when they fucked it up the third time today, I yelled, "STOP! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!?!" That was, of course, bad, but it got their god damn attention. I thought that maybe I'd just let them stand and talk to each other for the remainder of the class (over an hour), but I swallowed my pride and apologized "...for yelling. I must be tired. I apologize." I sat them down to write and am writing this IN CLASS. Before things got underway today, half the class stood up in (either fake or real) panic, saying "Earthquake!" This was most bizarre and unappreciated and it took me several minutes just to get them to calm down. They had to look at their phones to confirm on the earthquake websites that there had been no earthquake. So either their earnestness was condemnable, or their gall was. So that started the class off poorly (as have the several weeks before this one, when they continually revealed themselves to be unworthy of my energy). Of all the classes I've dealt with this useless semester (easily 15, probably more), no teacher has ever claimed this one as their own, come into the classroom to observe, offered any guidance, moved me into or out of it - that is to say, no single person in the UM English faculty has done a single thing for or with me in regard to this class. They've just left me to it. I've never even been given a textbook. Why is that? Why is the shittiest college class I've ever taught the only one which no one interferes with? Every session is a struggle. Only two students have any intellectual foresight, maybe three, if you count the smug mama's boy who wants to be famous. Now, I'm like an Indonesian teacher, sitting, looking busy while paying no attention to the class, letting them sink or swim, because who cares? We're just going through the motions. There's nothing to be angry about...except...I've done these socialization practices for 20 years, and every class figures it out after two or three sessions. These fools seem ineducable, even the intelligent ones are handicapped by "pemisahan jenis kelamin" (segregation of the sexes). And what a sorrowful thing all that is, to be in college with a bunch of morons whose society privileges them their ignorance. Kind of like my experience in Japan, the system allows for coasting and indifference to their own self-improvement. Ok, enough. I must be tired - too many late night World Cup matches, not enough sleep. I can't wait until this class is finished. Just one more week! And next week will be presentations, so no effort required from me. I don't even know their names. I don't even know how I'm going to grade them! I'll certainly be talking to my colleagues about this aggravating arrangement. I was tempted to just walk out, but the professionality I didn't show in yelling disallowed me to abandon my post. I'll do that in 26 minutes. epilogue - By leaving them to their devices, it turns out I separated the wheat from the chaff a bit. Those who were actually interested in the work we're doing (which is writing a 5-paragraph paper in order to present it next week) approached me with questions, and I redeemed myself a bit by helping them. Otherwise, I stand by what I've said in this piece. I'm sorry I lost my cool. But this class has been a microcosmic example of all that is wrong with my experience here, and I blew up for 5 seconds - for the first time in 26 years.

Week 15: So long, Praha!
Dobrý den,
I have so many mixed emotions about my time here coming to an end. As busy as I was throughout the semester I truly believe I did a good job immersing myself in Czech daily life and culture and I'm proud of that. I definitely want to come back, just without the responsibilities that come with being a student 😅.
We had our challenge project presentation panel, followed by our final ceremony signaling the end of the program. The company really liked our work and appreciated the extra time I put into compiling the document with action items for their tech team.
Now all that’s left is cleaning up the common areas of the apartment, which I unfortunately had to do alone before Isy (a Czech peer) came and helped me. She’s an angel.
Enjoy the views along the walk home from school and from my room for one last time with me.
Final Reflection
As I sit in the airport and reflect on my experiences, I’m overwhelmed by feelings of gratitude for the people I’ve met and all the unique experiences I had, in Prague and beyond. To better convey these thoughts, let me share with you a brief story that I feel encompasses my biggest takeaways from this semester abroad.
When I was solo traveling in Italy, I stopped in Milan for a night and decided to hang out at the bar of the hostel I was staying at before heading to dinner. A man who looked to be in his late 20s sat down next to me and we started chatting. He introduced himself as Dennis, a civil engineer from the Netherlands, who has been traveling throughout Italy chasing the recommendations of locals he'd met along the way. I sat and listened to his stories, admiring his ability to arrive in a new country without plans, developing an itinerary en route. After all, locals know best.
I was also surprised by his ability to take so much time off of work for travel. In the Netherlands, like many other countries in the EU, it's customary to have 6-7 weeks of paid vacation time each year. I was shocked. In America, there is no federal requirement for paid time off. In fact, many Americans don’t even use all their PTO, in fear that in taking time off they’ll fall behind on their work or hinder their career growth. We fell into this conversation in class a few weeks ago, and it enlightened me about all the workplace perceptions and expectations that don’t apply outside of the US. While the US is incredibly progressive in terms of fostering diversity in technical roles and schooling, the hustle culture is exhausting and counteractive to quality of life, balance, and even productivity. Not to mention the extreme costs associated with healthcare and having children, and the lack of maternity leave or protection. I feel privileged to have obtained this knowledge while studying abroad that I wouldn't have considered, or even fathomed, when thinking about working abroad post-college.
After an hour had passed, another woman in her early 20s joined our conversation. Polina’s a linguist, originally from Belarus, but has been living in Warsaw for the past decade. We bonded over staple TV shows of our childhoods, including ICarly, Victorious, and Drake & Josh, which fostered remarkably shared experiences despite growing up on opposite sides of the world. Soon after, we were joined by two more men, also engineers, in their 30s: an Italian named Marco and a German named Tim. We sat and talked in our group of five until the early morning hours. I learned more about cross-cultural communication and international living than I ever imagined I would in my time abroad.
On the next round of drinks, I’d been craving a coffee and put in an order for a cappuccino. I received unexpectedly strong opposition instead… It turns out ordering coffee after 11am is completely taboo in Italy. The bartender, with a mixture of amusement and adherence to custom, refused my request but compromised by serving me a shot of espresso: a subtle push to respect local customs and embrace cultural peculiarities.
When chatting a bit deeper with my new friends, it dawned on me how much power language held. There I was, a two-language speaker surrounded by people who spoke 4, if not 5, or more languages. Polina, the linguist of the group, educated us about languages and their roots, including Italic, Slavic, and Germanic. As solo travelers, we all shared an understanding of the power of communication when traveling; without English as a universal language, none of us would’ve been able to connect.
We got to talking about the aspects of our homelands we were proud of. Polina, with her roots in Belarus and Poland, praised the genuine, no-BS attitude of her people. Tim, with a more somber pride, mentioned Germany’s dedication to a conscious and cultured society after a dark historical chapter. Dennis talked up the networking and opportunity in the Netherlands, and recounted the legacy of the Dutch being the only Europeans to be allowed to trade with China and Japan in earlier days. I mentioned the diversity of the US, and how I’ve had the opportunity to grow up with friends from many different ethnic and religious backgrounds. And finally, Marco spoke about the Italian way of celebrating daily life and finding beauty in every situation. I knew this to be true, as just this afternoon I ran into a mall during a downpour of rain to discover tens of pairs dancing around a small speaker. I witnessed two teens, one teaching the other how to dance, then turned my gaze to a young woman joining an older gentleman dancing solo. Soon enough, everyone joined in on the camaraderie.
Reflecting on these experiences, I recognize the profundity in this seemingly small conversation and the depth each of us brought to it through shared laughter, memories, and time. That's the essence of my journey abroad, embracing authenticity and connection.
Czeching out,
