I think one of the fundamental issues with Izzy antis and Izzy Misunderstanders is their refusal to see in anything but black and white.
Let’s look at some antagonists:
Nigel Badminton: Upper class; childhood bully of Stede; mocks sensitivity;  Navy man but not portrayed as having much interest in the job; racist Chauncey Badminton: Presumably upper class; Navy man; grudge against Stede for killing his brother supersedes loyalty to Britain
British Culture: Interested in promoting its interests around the globe by fighting pirates and other empires; racist and colonializing; wants Blackbeard for his infamous reputation; promotes heterosexual marriage with children and traditional lifestyle choices (not piracy)
Izzy Hands: First mate; queer pirate tragically in love with Blackbeard; manager-like aesthetic and vibe; concerned with competence and professionalism; believes love makes a man weak and vulnerable; hates Stede for being an incompetent, foppish wannabe seducing Blackbeard into bizarre behavior
Calico Jack: Queer pirate captain; longtime friend of Blackbeard; rowdy, grungy, western aesthetic; enjoys violent play and excessive drinking and mocks Stede’s refusal to participate in it; doesn’t believe pirates have friends, but helped Izzy get Ed off the Revenge
Izzy antis have a tendency to boil down different antagonistic forces with their own motivations, backgrounds, priorities, and psychologies down to Forces of Evil Toxically Masculine Homophobes. Naturally Stede, the crew of the Revenge, and Ed are Soft Emotionally Open Queer Femmes.
That’s how you get bizarre takes, like Izzy being a racist homophobe despite being a queer pirate in love with his queer boss of color who enlisted said boss’s queer male sometimes-lover to separate Blackbeard from Stede.
That’s how you get people calling Izzy a cop even though he teamed up with someone who ended up going explicitly against the Navy’s wishes out of his own personal desire for revenge against Stede.
And that’s why people just casually forget Spanish Jackie was involved into making deals with the Spanish and British navies to hurt her enemies, because then they’d have to acknowledge by their own logic a strong Black female character is complicit in...colonialism or something.

DREAM SMP UNDERTALE!AU
Part One link is found at the end of the post.
A FORGOTTEN DETAIL:
Of course, I had it considered it obvious, but it makes sense to put it down: Technoblade kills Ranboo. He kills him once, and then again, and again. But Ranboo, despite his surprise, always goes back - resetting the timeline to a "save point" and thus managing to move forward by understanding what the future holds.  No one seems aware of this, but the ghost boy follows him in his resets and has knowledge of all past timelines, even if he forgets some details every now and then.
THE BADLANDS:
Ranboo and the ghost boy enter the Badlands, where they become acquainted with various inhabitants and are attacked by other members of the Royal Guards, sent by the "Warden": Badboyhalo, Skeppy, Antfrost and Puffy - the latter however is not Ranboo's antagonist, she doesn’t try to capture or kill him like the others as she goes against her own allies to bring him to safety and tries in every way to hide him from them. While traveling through the Badlands, Ranboo begins to discover more and more about the Dream SMP. - Puffy tells of a much happier time, where players from other servers like him were welcomed, not rejected. Although Ranboo tries to ask more questions, Puffy doesn’t answer further. Ranboo compares her sad look when she speaks to one of someone’s grieving. - During a dinner with Karl, the latter warns Ranboo of a "masked person" whom the boy recognizes as "Dream". Ranboo asks Karl why the server is named after this person and Karl confirms that it's the opposite: the server was created hundreds of years ago by an entity named "DreamXD" and over time, the inhabitants of the Underground either named their children by that name or tried to assume the identity of the creator for one reason or another. So many have taken on the name "Dream" and its mask - good people, bad people. Karl's friends, enemies.
THE WARDEN:
No matter how hard he tries to escape, no matter Puffy's intervention - at one point, Ranboo is forced to face the Warden - Awesamdude, the Dream SMP prison’s keeper and new Captain of the Royal Guard. The creeper hybrid is surprised to see Ranboo so young, but he’s resolute in his intentions and still tries to capture the boy.  Using the power of reset, Ranboo manages to save himself multiple times and eventually escape, but is caught up again. As they fight, however, Sam realizes that he is indeed facing a child, and makes the decision to put his weapons away and "get out" of the role of the Warden, having also learned that Ranboo hasn't hurt anyone in the Underground.  Sam convinces the other members of the Royal guard to stop fighting and takes Ranboo (and the ghost boy) to his home. When Ranboo wonders if the King will blame the Royal Guards for letting him go, Sam says he will completely take the blame and not to worry. The two become friends and Sam gives his phone number to Ranboo to accompany him on his journey - then, learning that Sapnap and Quackity still intend to capture Ranboo, accompanies him to their house to talk.
MEMORIES OF THE PAST:
Quackity and Sapnap are not at all friendly, but the presence of both Sam and Karl prevents them from attacking Ranboo. The five spend an evening together and slowly, the two members of the Royal Guard seem to open up - Quackity more slowly, but in the end the two admit that Sam is right. Sapnap explains that as much as he wants revenge, he cannot regard Ranboo as anything other than an innocent person like someone else who came before him. Ranboo notices a photo in Sapnap's house - a group of friends in front of the “Community House”, smiling. Sapnap explains that most of them left a few years ago the known lands of the Underground (but not the Underground itself, since they’re stuck there), following the tragedy that marked the beginning of their hunt for the inhabitants of the outside, and that Sapnap did not follow them only because of Quackity and Karl and for his desire of revenge. When Ranboo asks what he is talking about, he gets no answer. In the end, Sapnap and Quackity also give Ranboo their numbers and direct him to the “Greater Land”.
As they enter the new area, the ghost boy hesitates as they pass by a hill - looking sadly at a rotting wooden bench and a broken jukebox. Remaining silent, when Ranboo continues on the path the ghost follows him sadly.
THE GREATER LAND
While escaping from mobs (who still spawn in the Underground, yes), Ranboo is saved by a fox hybrid named Fundy who bring him to his home. There, he introduce himself as the Archbishop of the Dream SMP and explain that, since the Warden usually captures and kills the players before they reach the Greater Land and he was still a child when the Hunt had first begun, he had been curious about Ranboo and had spied him using lots of cameras scattered around the Underground. Fundy explain to Ranboo that he feels sympathy for him and approves his cause of running back home, and that so he has paid two friends so they could escort him to the Barrier. He then introduces Ranboo to Jack Manifold and Niki Nihachu, who are ready to be Ranboo’s guards in the Greater Land.
THE ASSASSINATION ATTEMPTS
Ranboo, the ghost boy, Niki and Jack proceeds in their journey, quickly becoming friends and interacting with the other inhabitants of the area.  Ranboo constantly receives calls from the people he befriended: Sam, Quackity, Sapnap, Karl, but also Puffy and the other Royal Guards through Sam's cell phone. Fundy also had given him his numer and helps the trio (or rather, quartet) cross the Greater Land areas.  Despite everything seems to be going well, Ranboo begins to be the victim of strange, particular accidents: a bridge that almost breaks under his feet threatening to make him fall and die, objects falling on him from the sky, badly placed TNTs, explosions. Thanks to his skills, the help of the ghost boy and a bit of luck, Ranboo practically survives all the time, hardly noticing what's going on. At a certain point of the journey, Ranboo is separated from Niki and Jack and is attacked by a mercenary, Purpled, who tries to kill him by the order of “someone” until he realize that Ranboo had financed his and his brother Punz's financial business back when he was in the Ruins, thus deciding to let him go.
While searching for Niki and Jack, Ranboo and the Ghost Boy stumbles upon a strange corner of the Greater Land, where they find an abandoned, dilapidated structure, lying on the water and made of bricks and crafting tables. The doors and windows are barred and it seems that no one has set foot there for years.
A FAILED PLAN
Reaching the end of the area, Ranboo finds Niki and Jack who, however, seem to have abandoned the "friendly" facade they had had up to that moment as they aggressively reveal to him the truth of what had happened. Fundy's plan was definitely not to take Ranboo to the Barrier, but to escort him directly in front of the King to be imprisoned, as Fundy actually holds a very strong grudge against players from other servers because of what they took away from him. Niki and Jack should therefore have pretended to be Ranboo’s friends, but they had tried to kill him several times and even now they are "fed up". Their intention have indeed become to kill Ranboo themselves and steal his soul to cross the Barrier themselves. The three begin to fight. Niki, exactly like Fundy, seems to be holding a grudge towards other servers' players, and it is only thanks to the words of Ghostbur, who arrives there to kindly try to make her desist, that the girl stops, realizing that since the people she hated were already dead, she had used Ranboo as a "substitute" for her anger and hatred. Jack stops too, as his friend's well-being is more important to him than whatever plan they were planning. The two and Fundy, having arrived there, apologize, having realized that Ranboo is a good person, and Fundy shows Ranboo the way to reach the capital of the Dream SMP, where he will find the King and the Barrier.
Ranboo and the ghost boy then leave the area and set foot in L'Manburg where, advancing towards their destiny, they hear the inhabitants of the city tell a particular tale...

The Mask Rebirth
*I started to make this yesterday night, July 31st. Just gonna make two stories. And I just thought the rebirth could relate to the Norse gods and goddesses being reborn as masks.*
Rebirth Of Mayhem.
Owen Heffernan is a shy, yet genuinely good hearted and soulful young man who loves cartoons and violent video games. Despite being jobless, and still living with his mother at twenty years old. He has a desire to make a difference in helping people, despite suffering certain mental issues that make him not act normal.
His life changes forever when he discovers an green mask and wears it. Transforming him into the type of person he wants to be. Strong, kind of scary looking, fast, and hilarious. And confidant in who he is.
Until he realizes the mask itself contains the spirit of Loki. Who wants the wearer to embrace insanity and cause a bunch mayhem  by taking advantage of the man’s righteous anger towards injustice. But due to Owen’s big heart and somehow strong will. The Norse God and young man go into conflict with another of who’s in control.
That is, until they reach an agreement where Owen makes the big decision to let Big Head go loose and kill an entire ring of sex trafficker's and crime lords in one night. Making Big Head look like a brutal anti hero to all of Edge City.
Because of their actions. While Lieutenant Kellaway is on the hunt for Big Head. Owen and Loki must put aside their differences when they are put on a collision course that will bring them into a violent confrontation with not only Walter. A mute, but brutish man who worked for the mob. But also his mafia officer, Dorian Tyrell.
As Dorian finds out the history behind the mask. He discovers another mask related to the giant wolf named Fenrir. Which will pit Owen and Dorian in a vicious conflict that will determine the fate of Edge City.

Walter.
-
Heffernan vs Ipkiss.
A year after the death of Dorian Tyrell. Owen and Loki continue their onslaught of justice for the city. While trying to stay within their agreement to only kill really bad people and no innocents. And letting Big Head goof off at times during Jack-Ass themed stunts and whatever else.
Things remain normal or so until a mysterious new mask, very similar akin to the mask of Loki itself. It is bought by twenty nine year old Stanley Ipkiss. A man who Owen meets earlier in the week. Stanley plans to gift the mask to his girlfriend Kathy.
After Stanley puts on the mask. Just like Owen, his life changes forever. But unlike Owen, who’s mindset weighed in on helping others. Stanley is a necrotic man who decides to seek revenge against those with whom he has a grudge on.
Finding out there is another Big Head for some reason out there. Owen sets on trying to find out who is the cause of these rampages and stop him. Which shocks him seeing it is another Big Head. Despite there is only one true mask.
When the two meet, and Edge City learning there are now two Big Head’s. The two masked men fight each other. Which soon results in Owen having to make an alliance with Kellaway and Lionel to stop the madman. And even more help such as Tina Carlyle, who may of found a new mask.
During this entire struggle as Owen tries to stop Stanley from embracing the terrible nature of the world. He soon realizes that Stanley is possibly the man he could’ve become.
Characters.
Owen Hugh Heffernan. Voiced by Brandon Rogers.
The Mask/Loki. Voiced by Brandon Rogers. Stanley’s version voiced by Alex Hirsch.
Stanley Ipkiss. Voiced by Alex Hirsch.
Mitch Kellaway. Voiced by Roger Craig Smith.
Kathy/Katherine. Voiced by Grey Grffin/DeLisle.
Tina Carlyle. Voiced by Cristina Vee.
Angrbooa. Voiced by Cristina Vee.
Peggy Brandt. Voiced by Noel Wells.
Lionel Ray. Voiced by Jeff Schine.
Ms. Anna Heffernan. Voiced by Dana Delany.
Surtr. The creator of the second mask. Which contains a replica of Loki’s original spirit.
I may make a part two. Or basically, part three. I just wanted to get this done. Thought about putting the Mask Hunters in Heffernan vs Ipkiss. But decided I won’t.

An Analysis of Will's Moral Conflict
One of the key struggles for Will throughout the show concerns his reluctance to fully embrace his darkness. I completely acknowledge that this is a struggle that he deals with throughout, but the reasons for this struggle are more complicated than him simply having too strong of a good moral compass. When you actually look carefully at Will’s pattern of behavior, what you see is that Will’s moral struggle is really more about what he thinks he should feel or possibly even what he thinks he should want to feel. It is often argued that Will struggles with his internal conflict because he also wants justice or to stop Hannibal (and himself) from killing or hurting people. If Will is fighting his darker urges because he wants to protect people then that would be valid, but this is usually not the case when you actually look at his actions and the fallout. Will’s struggles don’t actually protect anyone (in fact his indecisiveness usually leads to tragic consequences) and when others do get hurt, he doesn’t actually react with genuine guilt or even make true changes to his behavior for the better.
In the beginning of the series, we do know that Will has a desire to be normal and because he isn’t he largely hides from social interaction. At first he is also not interested in socializing or even talking with Hannibal, but once Hannibal gets him to confess to enjoying killing Hobbs and then offers him acceptance at this confession, we see Will become much more comfortable having serious and personal conversations with him. Will enjoys the acceptance that Hannibal is offering him despite admitting to enjoying taking a life. Will is still very reluctant to admit this to anyone else; however, so he does recognize that it isn’t a normal feeling for him to have despite Hannibal’s lack of judgement (and even encouragement). He tells Abigail that killing her father was the “ugliest feeling in the world,” which we know is a lie and near the end of S1 he later confesses the truth about how he felt to her.
S2 is where we really get to see Will’s struggle begin though because it is during S2 that he is much more “awake” so to speak and he actually starts actively embracing more of his darker urges and recognizing them for what they are. He is angry at Hannibal because of Abigail’s death and the betrayal of lying about his illness and framing him, as well as the death of Beverly, which eventually leads to Will sending Matthew Brown to kill him. Will does not appear to feel any regret for this attempt at murder by proxy, or the fact that he was sending someone else off to potentially be sacrificed for this cause, and when Hannibal frees him from prison shortly afterwards, he also begins to understand some of Hannibal’s motivations for his S1 actions. However, he still starts off on a plan to get revenge and presumably attempt to bring Hannibal to justice. This brings us to the question of why is Will really doing all of this. Jack certainly seems to think it is for justice, but we eventually see that Will is lying throughout the “investigation.” Will was, for instance, supposed to manipulate Hannibal into trying to kill Mason but arrest him in the act. At least that is what Will tells Jack. However, Will also doesn’t tell Jack anything about his personal connection to the Mason Verger plot and what happened to Margot. He also manipulates Mason against Hannibal, but in the end he frees Hannibal allowing him to kill his way out of Muskrat Farm. He also just ends up watching Hannibal snap Mason’s neck and doesn’t tell Jack anything about what actually happened, which is why they have to resort to the planned entrapment dinner. Based on his actions and not just on what Jack believes are his intentions, there isn’t really any indication that Will’s motivations are anything but personal. He is upset by Hannibal’s actions in S1, but he is mostly still upset about what happened to Abigail. He brings her death up to Freddie twice and questions Hannibal directly about it. Even before the rest of the FBI closes in and Will is forced to make a choice, he burns Hannibal’s psychiatric notes about him. The file even contains the real clock that Will drew when he was ill. Will burns it willingly when he could have attempted to keep it. Hannibal doesn’t seem concerned at all that Will has it in his hands. Why does he destroy valuable evidence if he wants justice? In the end, Will disregards even Abigail’s death when he calls Hannibal to warn him. Even if Will wasn’t planning to run with Hannibal when he got to the house (though we know he at least wanted to based on his later confession to Jack) he wanted Hannibal to leave. He wanted him to go free. This wasn’t about justice. It was about what had personally happened between the two of them and he was apparently okay with Hannibal leaving and going to potentially kill other people somewhere else. Later when Will is in the hospital and Chilton tells him this is his best possible world, Will imagines if he had killed Jack with Hannibal that night, which shows us that Will’s regrets over Mizumono aren’t that he failed to stop Hannibal and bring him to justice but that he didn’t commit to Hannibal sooner and that they didn’t get to go through with killing Jack together.
When we get to S3, Will’s conflict eventually shifts away from being about what Hannibal has done to hurt him and more about Will’s so called morality. This is where Will starts to get a bit more difficult to follow in terms of motivation because Will is pretty hypocritical about all of it. At the beginning of the season, Will is mourning the loss of the family that he, Hannibal, and Abigail could have been together. He is worried that Hannibal may just be playing with him, but he also wants to go to Hannibal. This is explicitly stated more than once when he talks to “Abigail” who is really just a representation of his own thoughts. At the end of the episode, he forgives Hannibal, and I think this is where we start to get a bit of a shift in Will’s conflict. Will goes to Hannibal’s childhood home, which is where he encounters Chiyoh. Will now sees someone Hannibal has “tested” and seemingly has left behind. Will was already worried in Primavera that Hannibal was simply playing with him, but now he sees someone that Hannibal was able to walk away from and he likely becomes concerned that Hannibal sees him the same way. Afterall, Hannibal gutted him and walked away and Will only has the broken heart as a sign that Hannibal hasn’t just moved on. What if Hannibal was just mocking him? Will’s insecurities are somewhat understandable here. What is telling though is how Will treats what he should logically see as another of Hannibal’s “victims.” He treats Chiyoh in a very Hannibal-like manner. He tests her to see if she will kill and she does in self-defense. While he does take the prisoner away from the castle initially, when Chiyoh screams, we get a shot of Will off in the woods. His reaction is stone cold and there is no surprise at all on his face, so he must have expected the prisoner to come back after her. Chiyoh also makes sure to call him out on his real intentions. Later when they are riding the train together, he still shows no remorse for what he did to her, and instead rather coldly questions her about taking a life. He asks her if she sees herself killing the prisoner over and over and she replies no that she sees him and his response is just to grin at her as if he enjoys the thought of what he has made her do. Later in the same episode, she states that he feels like he needs to kill Hannibal or he will become him and Will says yes. It is here that the story somewhat shifts from Will possibly wanting to go be with Hannibal again to feeling like now he needs to kill Hannibal in order to “save himself” from Becoming like him. What changed? I think Chiyoh and thinking Hannibal just saw her as disposable is part of it, but I think the fact that he was able to really forgive Hannibal for what happened between them before and Abigail is also apart of it. If Will can forgive Hannibal for killing their daughter and gutting him and still wants to go to him, what does that say about Will himself and the type of person he is? This isn’t the way normal people love. I think this realization, combined with the fear that Hannibal doesn’t really care about him, causes Will to get a bit spooked and regress in his own self-acceptance a bit. Seeing Bedelia and realizing she took his place also helped solidify this belief on his part.
However, lets look a little more closely at Will’s apparent motivation and the belief he needs to kill Hannibal for this reason. Is it to bring him to justice? Is it to stop Hannibal from killing others? No, it is all about Will and his attempts to possibly control his own thoughts, feelings, and actions. Keep in mind that at this point, Hannibal has left Will alone for eight months. He did leave the broken heart, but Will had to travel across the ocean to see that. Will is going after Hannibal; Hannibal is not going to Will. The idea that Will must kill Hannibal to stop his own dark desires is pretty illogical on Will’s part, and Chiyoh tries to point out to him that there are flaws in his thinking because she follows up by telling him there are means of influence other than violence, but this is also where Will really starts twisting himself up in knots to lie to himself. (For the record, I do think there is more to Will’s motivations than just wanting to kill Hannibal just like there was much more to Hannibal’s attempt at the head sawing. For one, I think they are both afraid of being the vulnerable one in the relationship because at this point in their relationship, there is a lot of violence, physical and emotional, between them. I also doubt Will would have gone through with it. He pulled a tiny knife in the middle of a public street and Will has never before or after this, been able to actually go through with killing Hannibal or letting anyone else do it, but I digress.) It should also be noted that Will didn’t go to Italy in the first place to attempt to bring Hannibal to justice. He goes to Italy to deal with his feelings for Hannibal just like he “resumed therapy” to deal with his feelings for Hannibal. We can see proof of this in his interaction with Pazzi who wants his help as an officer of the law to find Hannibal, and Will not only isn’t interested in really helping him, he starts to deliberately act creepy around him including taunting him by asking him if he knows whose side he is really on. When Will meets up with Jack later, even though he goes with him to the apartment where they find Bedelia, Will also slips out by himself and doesn’t tell Jack he knows where to find Hannibal, so again he sees finding Hannibal as something personal and not a matter of law enforcement.
Then we arrive at the Digestivo break up. Will is clearly exhausted during this episode. He does bite Cordell’s cheek and look to Hannibal for approval and help talk Alana into freeing them, but you can tell he is tired. This is when he tells Hannibal to leave and he doesn’t want to know where he is. Let’s break this action down. There are two valid interpretations to this: Will deliberately manipulated Hannibal into surrendering (which he later claims) or Will thought Hannibal would really leave and was surprised that Hannibal turned himself in. If Will did deliberately manipulate Hannibal into turning himself in, we can say from his later actions that he was essentially keeping Hannibal on the hook until Will was ready to return to him. Will is giving himself a break from the drama that is their relationship and giving himself some space (even though Will was the one to seek out Hannibal again and not the other way around). If Will didn’t manipulate him on purpose then Will once again is apparently fine with Hannibal leaving and killing other people. The implication then is that it would apparently be okay as long as Hannibal wasn’t killing people he knew and Will wasn’t tempted to give in to his own dark urges by being around Hannibal. Hannibal killing only seems to be an issue for Will when he is personally connected to it, and even then only to a point. The only one of Hannibal’s victims he really seems to care about is Abigail (who he forgave Hannibal for) and Beverly for a short period of time before he seemingly forgot about her entirely (and this is arguably Will being angry at Hannibal taking something else away from him. Will tends to get upset when he believes this is what Hannibal is doing. We see it with Abigail, Margot’s baby, and later when he accuses Hannibal of this concerning Molly and Walter during his conversation with Bedelia.) We can also see the way Will treats one of Hannibal’s surviving victims, Alana. Alana is manipulated by Hannibal, and unlike Will himself, is considered disposable. Alana actually does try to stop Hannibal by pulling the trigger and attempting to shoot him, but she fails. She is a victim of Hannibal’s manipulations and suffers a serious injury and almost dies because of Hannibal. And how does Will treat her? He doesn’t even want her around him. He would rather pine for Hannibal and Abigail in Hannibal’s kitchen than even talk to her. They could have come together to bond over their trauma, but instead he rejects her entirely and tells her to leave him alone. He doesn’t even have a logical reason to be so put off by her in their scene in the kitchen.
We then arrive at the Red Dragon arc where Will’s “moral conflict” reaches its most hypocritical levels. First, we have how he treats Bedelia. Will is blatantly jealous, but even setting aside his hatred of her as a potential rival, his attitude towards her is outrageously hypocritical. He was upset no one would believe him about Hannibal in the first half of S2, but he never even gives her story the benefit of the doubt for a second (even openly mocking her with his “I don’t believe you.”) He also tells her she would deserve to be eaten by Hannibal and later threatens her again in TWOTL. This is the man who tried to shoot someone in cold blood, mutilated a corpse, set someone up to kill and mutilated another corpse, and tried to help Hannibal escape at least once. Will has done more criminal acts and gotten away with them than Bedelia is even capable of doing in the first place. Remember when Will was going to be arrested for killing and mutilating Randall Tier? Apparently Will just got away with that completely once the FBI was distracted by Hannibal being the real Ripper. Bedelia has nothing on Will.
We also have Will’s family, which is often used as an example of Will trying to be a good man and resist his darkness, but let’s look at how this is presented. Parallels are actually drawn between Will choosing his family and how Dolarhyde chooses his victims. Hannibal points out that Dolarhyde is like Will and “needs a family to escape what is inside of him.” When Hannibal tells him he picked a readymade family “to serve his needs” because he knows better than to breed, Will is called out for basically having a beard family (in more than one way). It is worth noting that Will does not even try to argue with Hannibal about this, which is basically accepting the truth of the statement. Will doesn’t have a problem with calling Hannibal out when he feels he deserves it. What we are shown of Will’s relationship with Molly is also quite shallow. We have no reason to believe he has been honest about himself with her. She believes he is motivated by wanting to save lives, but as we have seen he is fine putting people in danger and doesn’t seem to care about Hannibal killing people he doesn’t care about. She also jokes about his criminal mind and he shuts the conversation down. There has been discussion about whether or not Will was purposely putting Molly and Walter in danger. I don’t think he did this consciously, but I do believe he was very selfish to use them for a “normal” life while he is essentially keeping Hannibal waiting in prison. It is also very odd that Will is supposed to be so good at reading killers, but he “doesn’t” pick up on the obvious hints Hannibal gives him about Dolarhyde coming after Molly and Walter next. By involving them, and not being honest with them, he at least was pulling them into a world they weren’t prepared for. We also never see them again after they are attacked. Will mainly seems upset that Hannibal tried to take something away from him again since that has been an issue for Will throughout their relationship and even in the scene where he confronts Hannibal about it he doesn’t even stay angry for the entire scene. (Also, the accusation that Hannibal gave Will three years to build a family just so he could take them away is pretty bizarre logic as well. Hannibal didn’t know what Will was going to do while he was in prison.) If Will actually wanted to be with them though, it is odd that this was enough to destroy the relationship. As if he wanted to live in an illusion and once the illusion is shattered he has no need for it. Some argue that Will’s motivations are to protect Molly and Walter in the finale, but if that is the case why do we never see them again? Molly is only brought up in the finale as a way for Will to try and hurt Hannibal. If Will truly cared beyond the destruction of his attempt at a normal life, then why do we not get more of a real moment between Will and Molly after the hospital scene? Instead, Will is back to focusing on the personal conflict of he and Hannibal’s relationship and the new confirmation that Hannibal is in love with him and what he feels in return and what he is going to do about it. In fact, Will was the one who decided to involve Hannibal in the case before it was even necessary. If Will believes Hannibal is so dangerous for himself and the world at large, why doesn’t he leave Hannibal to rot alone in his cell until it is absolutely necessary to interact with him? Bedelia calls him out for just missing Hannibal and wanting to see him, but you also have to wonder if Will wants to give Hannibal the chance to act in some way and get involved. Hannibal didn’t even need to know Will had a family at all for the purposes of this case, so Will agreeing with Bedelia that Hannibal was going to let Will have something knowing he could take it away is odd. The whole situation is another example of Will coming to Hannibal instead of Hannibal coming to Will. Will had to want Hannibal involved.
We then come to Chilton and Will’s role in what happens to him. Will does appear upset at seeing what happened to Chilton in the FBI office, but when we cut to him with Bedelia, the one he can be more honest with, we see a very different side of him, and when she asks if he wants to talk about it he responds with “the divine punishment of a sinner mirrors the sin being punished” and “Damned if I’ll feel.”  When she asks if he has to wonder if he put Chilton at risk he says no and with a cocky eyebrow raise, he responds to her asking if she expected this to happen to Chilton by saying “I can’t say I’m surprised.” We aren’t seeing any real remorse here and after imagining himself lighting the match that burned Chilton, he easily lies to Jack in the next scene and blames it all on Hannibal, which is a deliberate attempt on his part to deflect the blame he was just taking responsibility for with Bedelia.
Will’s actions in The Wrath of the Lamb are ambiguous to a point, and there are multiple interpretations of what his intentions were. What we can say for certain is that Will lies to Jack and acts like he didn’t know Dolarhyde was alive until after the rest of them learn that news as well. He never reveals that he has already put a plot into motion involving Dolarhyde. So what is Will’s motivation? There are different options. None of them actually make Will look good or heroic at all. One interpretation is that Will has decided that too many lines have been crossed by himself and he needs to put an end to it, so he is going to have Dolarhyde kill Hannibal. If this is Will’s motivation, then it means that Will is essentially blaming giving in to his own darkness on Hannibal simply existing. Hannibal is in a cell and while he did find a way to be something of a danger thanks to Dolarhyde, that avenue is now cut off to him. It doesn’t make logical sense for Will to decide to use another serial killer to kill Hannibal because Will has given into his darkness enough to now be willing to do things like set up Chilton and not feel bad about it. If this is Will’s genuine plan, it also means he is willing to lie to Jack and the others and put many people in danger for his own personal issues. The officers escorting them are killed, and it can be easily assumed that Will helped Dolarhyde know where they would be (how else did he find out?) so that it would just be Will and Hannibal against Dolarhyde alone, which was not Jack’s plan at all. Even if Will didn’t intend for the police officers to die, he was deliberately endangering others with his plan and they die because of his manipulations. Will also shows no remorse over this (he even steals a gun off of a corpse) even though it is a much worse act than killing a family annihilator with Hannibal. If Will’s moral conflict doesn’t include caring about the lives of innocent officers, what exactly is he trying to stop himself from Becoming and how will Hannibal being dead help? The most “heroic” take on Will’s plan is that he wanted to put an end to Dolarhyde and Hannibal (and possibly himself) to end all the evil and maybe stop himself from becoming a killer. However, Will’s plan involves lying to Jack, manipulating people, and getting innocent bystanders killed. This isn’t logical and if this was Will’s conscious plan he is a hypocrite who is more concerned with saving a perception of himself that he believes should exist than actually being a hero. If Will really wanted to put an end to things, he could also have helped Jack find Dolarhyde and then turn himself in for his own crimes or had himself committed to protect others from himself. Will instead picks the most reckless and dangerous plan he could. Even his attempt at ending both he and Hannibal isn’t a full commitment to the act. There was still a gun available. He could have put a bullet in Hannibal’s brain when he was vulnerable and then ended himself. Instead, Will pushes them off a cliff that Hannibal already told him had an eroding bluff. He is leaving it up to chance, likely because he doesn’t really want to die, but he believes dying is what he should want to do. Keep in mind, this last push isn’t motivated by the fact that his plotting led to the death of several innocent people. He is motivated to do this because of how Good and Right it feels killing with Hannibal.
For the record, I believe that Will really wanted to free Hannibal and kill with him. I do think it is very possible that Will told himself his motivations were what I outlined above, but because those motivations are so illogical, I believe this was just his excuse to create a situation where he and Hannibal had to fight and kill Dolarhyde alone together because what he really wanted was that experience (after all, he tells Bedelia his plan and threatens her with Hannibal coming after her, which doesn’t make sense if he really plans for them to all be dead). However, if the above were his motivations, and Will truly wanted to let Dolarhyde kill Hannibal for him right up until the moment he couldn’t actually let it happen, then Will is someone who is willing to blame someone else for his own actions, unnecessarily endanger bystanders to “save” himself, and then attempt to use someone else for murder by proxy (again). None of that is heroic and none of that demonstrates that Will is driven by a genuine attempt to be moral. It is a surface level morality that doesn’t add up to much at all.
Even the narrative tends to tell Will that his fight to preserve his “morality” is dangerous to others. The more Will fights, the more indecisiveness he shows, the more he gets other people hurt. His insistence that he just kept lying to Hannibal (as he tells himself in Primavera) helped lead to the tragedy of Mizumono. While Hannibal is responsible for his own actions, Will is also responsible for the part he plays and his inability to pick a side until it was too late (and even then in a way ambiguous enough that Hannibal did not seem to get the message.) When Will is unsure of himself and gives into his impulses without being sure of what he wants, we end up with situations like Chilton and the unnecessary deaths in TWOTL. Will’s moral conflict never actually leads to anything good in the show, and a lot of the negative consequences are caused by Will’s inability to seemingly be honest even with himself. Will’s moral conflict is something he does struggle with, but ultimately it does not lead to him actually changing for the better or showing genuine remorse for his actions. His conflict only leads to him being more reckless and endangering even more people. It is a false conflict that is based on Will believing he should be a certain way because of society’s expectations (and it is in this that the closeted subtext makes the most sense) rather than real guilt or a desire to be good for its own sake. I do hope and believe that surviving the Fall was what Will needed to finally let go of these issues so that he can finally be happy with himself and Hannibal.

Hannibal Episode-by-Episode Meta/Analysis: Episode 11, Season 1 (Rôti)
Tumblr media
As pieces of Will’s mind start to disintegrate, he feels the uprising waves of unbelongingness. Waves that do not meet with resistance, however. Waves that consist of trillions of transparent water drops that have no identity but what they reflect. Waves that feel just like him, getting unleashed. The emphasis being on unleashed, it is not the growing of a seed that was sowed against his will. It is the emerging of what was already there, what took a lifetime to frost, to hide. That frozen-up dark side starts to melt down as his devils start burning hotter and brighter. His body and soul are burning hotter and brighter so that the iced identity of him would thaw free.
Tumblr media
As the walls that were once forced up are melting down, so is he. He feels as he is liquefying and even beyond that, vaporizing. Transforming into the form known as the most irregular state of the matter, the most chaotic one. Freest one. The most moldable one that gives him the opportunity to be shaped, to exist whichever way he wants, no more buried pieces of his entity. All this is an inevitable outcome enhanced by his encephalitis that will, surely, be treated at the end of the day but that will not be before chains of Will’s darkest side are broken for good, irreversibly. And that is what Hannibal ever hopes for while hiding Will’s condition knowing he cannot do it forever. He does not need to. Icebergs that once come down, do not go back up.
Tumblr media
“How do you keep your whites so clean?”
asks Dr. Gideon to the officers in his transfer vehicle, genuinely puzzled. It is amazing how sincere that question is and how insightful it is on a killer’s mind. The mind that has very hard time comprehending how people can want to keep it clean, when it is undeniably existential for men not to and that is as real as the life itself. When the blood is bound to spill and give everything else the color everything needs to be seen in. To think whites can remain whites, it is pretentious and even laughably fake. Nothing is that clean. No conscious, no mind, no heart. Dr. Gideon may not know who he truly is, but he sure as hell knows something: red is inevitable.
Dr. Gideon is not the only one who sees this, Will seems to be making peace with that notion too since he slips in and out of Gideon’s shoes easily, almost effortlessly. Will understands him well since he too feels his identity being ripped apart into pieces where he does not know if all or none of those pieces belong to him.
Tumblr media
A room full of antlers imagines Will, in a room full of people. How convenient. He feels trapped into, obliged to something he does not know what. Jack pushes from outside while his own mind pushes from the inside, leaving no room for him to be, so the only thing left for him to do is melt away to his release. He will not be guideless then though, as Hannibal offers himself as his gauge.
Unlike Dr. Gideon who has everyone to tell him who he is and who is not and no one to help him know it for sure; Will has Hannibal. He uses what is happening to Will to uncure the concrete that is his identity and give Will every chance to mold it all over again.
Tumblr media
“It is hard to shake off something that is already under your skin.”
says Will to Jack. How true is that. He is not fighting some foreign threat, he is in a battle with forsaken, neglected dark corners of his mind. The stag emerges again from one of those corners, and Will now knows what it represents and who it is going to lead him to. And he follows. Not because he needs to, but because he wants to. He sees Dr. Gideon as Garret Jacob Hobbs, someone else who he understood a bit too well too. Understood and killed. Killed and enjoyed. Enjoyed and not regretted.
Tumblr media
“I am taking (my identity) back one piece at a time. You should see the pieces I got out of my psychiatrist.”
says Gideon to Hannibal, when Hannibal suggests that it is a terrible thing to have one’s identity taken from him. It is a curious emphasis to make on Gideon’s part after seeing Hannibal treating Will the way he is -a psychiatrist playing with his patient’s mind-, as he insinuates that Will also will be taking his revenge one day by taking a piece of Hannibal. Hannibal must have expected Will to reciprocate to his actions at some point, but I bet he never thought the piece of him that Will was going to be able to take would be his heart. Is not that some sort of a revenge too?
Tumblr media
Will shoots Dr. Gideon not when he speaks of killing Alana but precisely when he turns into GJH in Will’s eyes and mentions his becoming. He is not doing it to protect anyone else but himself. He just wants the illusion to end, the curtain in front of his eyes to come down, no matter the cost.
Tumblr media
The only person who can see what happened as a success is Jack. Dr. Gideon is brought down and the fact that it was done by Will shooting him and Will ending up getting hospitalized in the process hold no importance. A success he sees fit to celebrate with a drink. Hannibal counts on Jack’s untouchable arrogance that he will keep Will in the field even if he advised against it. How can a very experienced FBI officer like Jack not see the way Will is getting reshaped, though? Of course, he does. He is just willing to let this transformation happen up until the moment Will becomes something unrecognizable. Even Hannibal, with all his double and double-double agendas, looks more concerned about Will’s well-being. As he speaks to Bedelia about his feelings of what is going on with Will, it gets clear Hannibal really is not enjoying it. He saw what was happening to Will and he fueled it too, thinking all this had to happen as the means to an end. An end he desires for Will, an end Hannibal will not force him into. He does not want to see Will fall more than a parent would want to see his kid fall only so he can learn to get back up again, stronger. So, all he can do is watch. Watch and hope that one day Will will understand why.

Parasite
Prompt: Plasmius is an evil ghost that has possessed Vlad since his accident. Vlad fights back as much as he can – silently apologizing to overshadowed businessmen while they share a mind, diverting malicious attention away from Jack and Maddie, and holding back against Danny long enough for him to learn Plasmius’ weaknesses – but he won’t be able to on much longer Prompt by: @sapphireswimming Word count: 4,056 Genre: Angst with happy ending
Content warning: possession, loss of control, powerlessness, self-sacrifice, dark themes
[AO3] [FFN] [more Phic Phight fics]
---
Plasmius, Vlad was sure, was the world’s punishment for any and all bad thoughts he had ever had. It was the harshest wake-up call imaginable… and unimaginable. Because, honestly, who could ever believe such a thing?
With the power of hindsight, Vlad had come to know, and acknowledge, that he’d been an awful human being. In college, he had constantly shunned Jack’s kindness, every attempt at friendship despite Vlad’s prickly responses. And Maddie… Oh, Maddie. He had refused to accept her interest in Jack, sure that he just had to convince her that Vlad was the better choice.
He’d been toxic, from top to bottom. That, Vlad was sure of.
It was not all that surprising, then, that this flaw of personality drew in equally toxic ghosts. Or, one ghost, specifically. A type of spectral parasite, which latched onto Vlad during the accident with the Proto Portal.
Vlad had not been in a good place, back then. He’d been in pain, horribly mutilated. Had been going through an experience no one else knew of, could sympathize or help with.
And all of that had been so much, that Vlad honestly hadn’t even realize that part of it wasn’t his newfound part ghost nature. Part of it had been a parasite, possessing him.
It had started slow. Had whispered bad thoughts into Vlad’s ear, its core pressed against Vlad’s until they were impossible to tell apart.
Had they ever truly been separate? Vlad didn’t know. Maybe not. Maybe he had only ever become half-ghost because a full ghost had possessed him.
Because that was what this was. Possession. Most people think that there is no difference between overshadowing and possession, but there is. It was just that most ghosts wouldn’t lower themselves to possession. There was no point to it, really, for most ghosts. It would allow them a foothold in the human world, yes, but it came with severe weakening. With a constant struggle to overpower the human they mingled with.
Plasmius had gotten lucky. He’d gotten his claws on Vlad just when he’d been sick, and weak, and ecto-contaminated.
And Plasmius had dug his talons in until Vlad couldn’t throw the ghost off anymore. Plasmius had integrated himself so neatly into Vlad’s very anatomy that removing him would surely kill the both of them.
The ghost had waited until Vlad was at his weakest, most inclined to listen to the venomous thoughts in his head, and then lunged. Had hard-handedly torn the steering wheel out of Vlad’s hands, pushing him into the crevices of his own mind, his own body.
At first, Vlad had let him. Plasmius wasn’t held back by any of Vlad’s weakness, his sickness, his lack of control. Plasmius wielded their ghost powers like an expert—because he was, really, an expert. Plasmius settled the ectoplasm and the flesh into their right forms, into a perfect mixture of the two, until their body was no longer wracked by sickness.
Plasmius dreamt of the things that Vlad wanted. Of getting riches, of getting revenge on those who hurt them, of getting the love they deserve.
Sometimes, Vlad wondered if he had influenced Plasmius right back. If he had carved the ghost’s mind into the same patterns as his own. Most times, however, he decided it didn’t matter. They had long surpassed the part where Vlad could influence Plasmius.
Freed from the hold of the hospital, of their sickness and weakness, Vlad had rejoiced. With Plasmius’ help, even his skin cleared up, scars fading away like nothing had ever even happened.
He’d asked, foolishly, what he could do for Plasmius to repay him for services rendered.
And Plasmius had laughed, in their shared mind space. Had cackled, sharp and vicious and unkind in every way.
“You won’t do anything, anymore,” Plasmius had told him. And after that, Vlad couldn’t remember anything.
The memories got muddled, then. Plasmius had torn control away from Vlad entirely. The only things he knew was what the ghost had accidentally slipped through into their shared space.
It was something about the way the ghost was constructed, Vlad thought. He could have his thoughts to his own, and speak to Plasmius only when he wanted to, but the ghost could not. All of Plasmius’ thoughts were direct, and easy to read.
They were the only thing Vlad knew, most of the time. He had no input from his body, from their shared body. Nothing from outside. Nothing but Plasmius’ thoughts.
So, over the years, Vlad had had a lot of time to think, and to reflect. To realize his many mistakes. To vow to do better.
Occasionally, Vlad was joined in the mind space by another mind. The first time it had startled him, but he knew what had caused it. Plasmius desired money, because money was power in the human world. But Plasmius was no businessman, had no financial smarts.
Instead, the ghost used the thing he did know: his ghostly abilities. Plasmius overshadowed businessman after businessman, forcing them to give their possessions, their riches and businesses, to Vlad. Or, more accurately, to Plasmius in Vlad’s body.
And, every time Plasmius overshadowed someone, the poor soul would gain temporary access to their mind space.
At first, Vlad apologized to every person Plasmius overshadowed. The businessmen, especially, he silently apologized to. Silently, because he didn’t want to draw Plasmius’ anger, his ire. The ghost probably couldn’t do him any harm, but the same could not be said of the people he overshadowed.
Later on, after Vlad realized what Plasmius was planning for their future, he started asking people to stop them. To stop him. He apologized first, of course, but then pressed on to point fingers at Plasmius. Begged people to please, please, inform authorities of Vlad Masters, dangerous half-ghost.
Plasmius had to be stopped, even if that came as the cost of Vlad’s life.
Nothing ever came of it. He didn’t know why. Didn’t know what to change so he could just convince someone.
Vlad Masters became a rich man. The proud owner of a Wisconsin mansion, decked out liberally in green and gold and Packers memorabilia. Plasmius, apparently, had decided that the Packers were an interest they shared.
Plasmius’ eyes started wandering back to the rest of his list of goals. Of acquiring Maddie’s love, of doing away with Jack.
And Vlad… Vlad thought back of all the scared businessmen that Plasmius had hurt. Of Maddie’s lovely smiles, and of Jack’s overly jubilant attempts at friendship.
He steered Plasmius away. To the best of his abilities, of course. He threw up distractions, made suggestions for Plasmius to pursue.
Two decades, he made it last. Two decades of holding off Plasmius, before the ghost finally decided it was time to chase down Jack and Maddie.
Twenty years was a long life, Vlad had consoled himself. And he peeked in on Plasmius’ vicious plans, and suggested, meekly, a college reunion.
The invites were sent out in Vlad’s name, of course. Two of them went to a little town by the name of Amity Park, addressed to Jack and Maddie Fenton. Plasmius had been beyond anger, but Vlad…
Vlad was glad. He was happy that those two had found support and love in each other. That they hadn’t been driven apart by his own accident.
Plasmius was still gunning for Jack, Vlad knew. Was sending all matter of ghosts after the man, yet none of them had succeeded. The few that dared to return to the mansion explained that another ghost had stopped them.
This, Vlad realized, was driving Plasmius crazy. The ghost decided, apparently, that he would just do the job himself.
See, Vlad had steered Plasmius towards a college reunion in the hopes that the ghost wouldn’t be crazy enough to murder Jack Fenton with so many witnesses. Now, he had started to worry that that might not be the case.
He had still been busy wondering if Jack and Maddie had held onto their interest in ghost hunting when Plasmius got agitated all over again. The ghost that had thwarted Plasmius’ attempts at killing Jack in Amity had come along.
Danny Phantom. The half-ghost son of Jack and Maddie Fenton.
Plasmius had tacked another goal onto his to-do list. To kill Jack, to acquire Maddie’s love, and to destroy Danny.
“Why not recruit him?” Vlad had asked, foolishly. “Isn’t he like us/you?”
This, apparently, had been the wrong thing to say. Plasmius had gotten even more agitated.
As it turned out, little Danny Fenton-Phantom was an actual half-ghost. They were a thing of legend, something that no one thought could exist. Plasmius had designed their shared body with this in mind. No one would be able to tell that Vlad was possessed, because they would be unaware of what was normal for a half-ghost like them.
Danny, however, would know. Or would lead others to know.
So the boy had to be destroyed, lest anyone else figure out what was wrong with Vlad.
And Vlad had looked at this teenager, this boy barely fourteen years old, and prayed for forgiveness for what he was about to do.
He had started pushing. Prodding Plasmius into lashing out, into making more and more vicious plans, in revealing his hand. And, simultaneously, in coaxing Danny to find their weaknesses. Steering the boy into knowing what Plasmius could do, and how to take him down.
Danny had to know that Vlad Masters—Vlad Plasmius, apparently—was trying to kill him. All Vlad needed for him was to get too fed up, go too far.
To end it. Before Plasmius could do worse.
---
Plasmius had another plan to take out Danny. Daniel, the ghost insisted on calling him. Plasmius had never been very good at respecting other people’s desires.
Vlad no longer wondered where that came from, either.
But his strength was waning. His ability to influence Plasmius lessened and lessened.
Which is why they were in the Fentons’ lab, now. They were fighting, Vlad thought, but he had no way to really know. Plasmius had locked him out of his own body twenty years ago, and had never let up.
So when Vlad suddenly thudded against a hard floor, cold against his bare hands, staring up at a blue face with blank red eyes and fangs, well.
He might’ve screamed.
A bolt of green knocked the ghost away from him, and it—he, something in Vlad’s mind told him this was Plasmius—snarled.
“Oh no you don’t!” a youthful voice yelled. Vlad didn’t look at the source, too busy taking in the ghost that had inhabited his body for all those years.
Pallid blue skin, only visible on the face and part of the neck. The eyes were entirely red, with no way to distinguish sclera from iris from pupil. Black hair, swept strangely in the shape of horns, and a matching black goatee. Pointed ears, and overlong fangs, which the ghost bared at either Vlad or whoever had yelled.
The clothing was a strange mix of vampire-like and lab clothes. Mostly white, the shirt tunic-like but with a tight shiny collar and gloves. A big cape, though, flaring out and red on the inside.
Plasmius snarled again, and Vlad could see, now, that his fingers were sharp like claws.
“Alright, that’s enough out of you,” the voice behind Vlad decided, and another bolt of green blasted against Plasmius.
Naturally, this only riled the ghost up more. He pushed himself up, lunging forward at Vlad.
A blue vortex caught him before he made it all the way, and the ghost was sucked up. Vlad followed the stream, repressing his surprise at the fact that his body let him, and saw…
Well, it must be Danny Fenton-Phantom. Just a boy, dressed in a black jumpsuit that reminded Vlad of the ones Jack always liked so much. Messy hair, an unnatural white, and glowing green eyes.
“Seriously, Vlad, what’s wrong with this guy?” Danny asked him, shaking the device that Plasmius had been sucked into. “I thought that taking you through the Ghost Catcher would help me understand you better, but this just made me more confused.”
Vlad blinked at him. “The… huh?”
“The Ghost Catcher,” Danny repeated, like that was the only part that could’ve confused Vlad. He gestured next to him, at a giant dreamcatcher-like invention. Its net glowed an eerie ectoplasmic green.
Yeah, that looked like something Jack might put together.
“What did… How did…?”
“You are seriously out of it,” Danny commented, frowning at him. “Your ghost half was all snarly, so I figured you were the smart half, but now I’m starting to doubt that.”
Danny had separated them, somehow. For twenty years, Vlad had thought that that would be impossible. From the moment Plasmius rewrote his body to be half human and half ghost, he thought it would’ve killed them both.
“How?” he asked again. He had to know. Could they destroy Plasmius, did he have the time—the strength—to do it himself?
“The Ghost Catcher.” Danny shook his head, watched as Vlad pushed himself into a sitting position. “It takes all the ectoplasm out of your system. When I went through it I got two distinct personalities, so I figured I would try it with you, but…”
Danny trailed off, then shrugged. “You’re not as mean as before, though, so I guess your feral half took that.”
“It was always his to begin with,” Vlad scoffed. He tried standing up, but wobbled precariously. Danny caught him by the arm before he fell, though.
“Well, yeah, I guess most of your anger came from the accident that made you a half-ghost, but—”
“No,” Vlad interrupted him. “The accident didn’t make me half-ghost. He did.”
Danny rolled his eyes, dropping Vlad’s arm. “Yeah, yeah, I know. You always blame my dad for it.”
“That’s not what I was saying at all.” Vlad shook his head, but let his eyes wander back to the… what did Danny call it? The Ghost Catcher? “The accident with the Proto Portal didn’t make me half-ghost either. Not directly, at least. I’ve got myself to blame at least as much as your parents.”
“Oh, uh.” Danny blinked at him, apparently surprised at the admission. “I mean, I guess that the Portal gave you Ecto Acne, and then that made you—”
“Plasmius made me half-ghost.” Vlad tore his eyes off of the miraculous invention, back towards Danny. Back towards the device in his hand that held Plasmius. “We need to destroy him, before he gets out.”
“Woah, woah.” Danny held up his hands. “That’s a little extreme, isn’t it? I mean, my two halves didn’t like each other that much either, but—”
“You don’t get it, Danny!” Vlad snapped. His heart thumped in his chest, blood roaring through his ears. Sensations he’d missed for twenty years while Plasmius paraded his body around. “You’re a real half-ghost. I never was. I was human, and Plasmius was the ghost who possessed me. Why do you think he wanted you gone so badly?”
The boy stared at him, so still that Vlad wondered if he still had to breathe in his ghost form.
“You… called me Danny,” he finally said, quietly.
Vlad resisted the urge to throw his hands in the air. “Yes,” he snapped, then stamped down his anger as well. He could be angry later, when Plasmius was gone for good.
“Yes,” he repeated, more calmly. “I’ve been referring to you as Danny the whole time, since you’ve said that that was your name. I… I have had a lot of time to think. To realize the mistakes I’ve made in my life.” To repent, he thought, but didn’t say. To realize that he’d been so terrible that no one saw the difference between him and Plasmius.
“I… I don’t know if you can live without your ghost half,” Danny said, eventually, reluctantly. “If you’ve been half-ghost for twenty years, like Plasmius always said…”
“I don’t care. If I die… so be it.” Vlad ran a hand through his hair, startled to find it tied back into a ponytail. At least Plasmius had kept their hair long, he supposed. “He has been puppeteering my body for twenty years, Danny. The only things I knew for twenty years were his thoughts, and his thoughts only. I had no control, could only make suggestions, and he’s been getting harder and harder to influence as time moved on.”
“That’s why he always held back.” Danny’s eyes grew wide. “I wondered about that. Why you—he, whatever—never used the full power of twenty years of experience. You held him back.”
Vlad nodded. “I wanted you to figure out his weaknesses. To grow strong enough to… to put an end to it.”
“You wanted me to kill you. Both of you,” Danny realized, his voice dropping.
“It would’ve been a bad thing to put on you,” Vlad agreed. “But the alternative would’ve been worse. Plasmius… he couldn’t be stopped. For twenty years, I derailed him into focusing on wealth, on acquiring power, but he finally set himself on his original goals. He would’ve killed Jack, would’ve found a way, no matter how despicable, to make Maddie his own. When he found you, a real half-ghost, he added your destruction to your list. And once he had achieved all those goals?” Vlad scoffed. “It would’ve been awful. Plasmius has no compassion, no caring.”
“So you wanted me to kill you? To put blood on the hands of a fourteen year old?”
“Better to hurt one teenager than to kill dozens. Or more, perhaps.” Vlad shook his head. “Even if it was the wrong thing to do, it doesn’t matter anymore. You’ve found a solution to split him off without shedding any blood. Now we just need to destroy him, permanently.”
Danny’s hands tightened around the tube-like device. “I— I can’t. I’m not gonna kill some ghost just based on— I can’t just kill some ghost.”
“Then give me some kind of invention from your parents and I’ll do it myself.” Vlad drew back his shoulders. “He needs to be gone, Danny. I’ve lost twenty years of my life to him. He has hurt countless people, and would hurt far more. Will hurt many more, if you let him out.”
The boy shook his head. “I can’t let that happen. He can stay in the Thermos.”
“Sooner or later he’ll break out of that,” Vlad insisted. He couldn’t… couldn’t risk that. Never again. “Or someone will release him.”
“I’ll bury it.” Danny met Vlad’s gaze. Stubborn to no end. Not very surprising, Vlad supposed, knowing the boy’s parents. Both Jack and Maddie were not known for giving up.
“It’ll get dug up.” Vlad stared at Danny, tried to will him into understanding. “Danny. I know you don’t like this. It’s a cruel thing to ask of a boy your age. To ask of anyone, really. Give me the… the Thermos, and your parents and I can take care of it. They’re still ghost hunters, aren’t they?”
“I…” He bit his lip, looking down at the Thermos in his hands. “I… I don’t think that that’s a good idea. They think that all ghosts are like that. This will just be— be proof that I don’t want them to have. They’ll think that all half-ghosts are like that.”
“That I’m like that” went unsaid, but Vlad heard it anyway.
“They don’t have to know that Plasmius possessed me all this time,” Vlad insisted. He needed the ghost destroyed. It had to happen, no matter what. “I just need him gone, Danny. I need to know that he will never hurt anyone ever again.”
“I just… I can’t let that happen.” Danny shook his head, slowly moving his arm until the Thermos clipped onto his belt. “He’ll add to my parents’ proof of how bad ghosts are, and even if I let you three deal with him… What’s stopping him from just possessing you again? Or one of my parents?”
Danny shook his head again, the movement sharper, jerkier. “I… I’ve dealt with bad ghosts like him before. That one, I left locked in a Thermos at Clockwork’s tower. I’ll do that with Plasmius too.”
“In the Ghost Zone?” It was not ideal, but… the Thermos would not decay in the Zone, and no ghost would be crazy enough to mess with such a device. And even if Plasmius broke out, it would take forever for him to get back.
“Yeah. Is that a good compromise?”
Vlad nodded, reluctantly. “As good as we’ll get, I think.” He paused, looking around the lab. “Excuse me for asking another thing of you, Danny, but… I’m afraid that I have no explanation for your parents as to why I’m in their lab.”
“Right, yeah.” He shot Vlad a suspicious look. “This isn’t a plot to steal the Thermos from me, is it?”
“I promise to you, it is not.” He placed a hand against his chest and realized, belatedly, that he was wearing a suit. Since when did he wear suits? What was Plasmius thinking? “Bind my hands if you must.”
“Alright, no need to go so far.” Danny rolled his eyes, walking closer to Vlad. “If I get you to the street, will you manage from there?”
Vlad patted his pocket, feeling a hard shape. He took it out to reveal…
“You have a phone, good.” Danny nodded. “You can call for a cab and take your private plane back to Wisconsin, or however you got here. How did you get here?”
“Bold of you to presume I know.” Vlad sighed, placing the phone back into his pocket. “I might just… take a walk, first. It has been a long time since I could.”
Danny threw him a heavy look. “Yeah. Of course. I won’t stop you.”
“And I…” Vlad paused. “I would like to reacquaint myself with your parents. I know that, between my behavior in my youth, and Plasmius’ behavior in more recent times, I don’t deserve that, but… I have learned my lesson a long time ago.”
This, Danny needed time to process. “You’re… not after my mom anymore?”
“I wouldn’t dare,” Vlad assured him. “When Plasmius sent out the invites, I caught wind of their marriage. I was… very glad. It was wrong of me to ever continue to pursue Maddie, when she clearly had no interest in me.”
“Then you’re welcome back, I guess.” Danny reached for him, and Vlad let him. Let the boy wrap his cool hands around Vlad’s arms. “I’ll let Jazz know not to get too harsh on you, but I can’t do anything for my mom.”
“Ah. Yes, a Maddie scorned is a Maddie to fear.” Vlad nodded understandingly. “Jack… Jack, I am sorry to say, I never appreciated as I should’ve. I would be glad to accept his offer of friendship this time around.”
Danny lifted him with ease, like gravity suddenly stopped having an effect on Vlad. “Yes, I… I am sure that Dad would love that. And if you try, Mom will see that, too. It’ll be…”
“I’ll do my best,” Vlad promised, after Danny had remained silent.
The boy nodded, then lifted up further. Phased them straight through the ceiling, which led them into the upstairs living room, and then through the wall. Carried Vlad a little further, until they were out of sight from the house.
“I’ll let you wander around first, then.” Danny put him down, surprisingly gently. “Come by whenever you’re ready, Vladdie.”
Vlad smiled back at Danny, feeling something warm and hopeful bloom in his chest. “I will, my boy. And… thank you. For your help with all this. For allowing me to finally be my own person, away from Plasmius. I didn’t— didn’t think it would ever happen.”
“Glad to be of service, then.” Danny bowed, deep, but rose with a smile on his face. “I’ll get this Thermos hidden away somewhere where no one will find it for the next eternity. Have a nice day, Vlad!”
“Yes, you too, Danny Phantom.” Vlad felt the corner of his mouth twitch up. Danny waved, then promptly disappeared from sight.
Vlad waited for another moment. Felt the mild wind breeze past him, tug on his long hair and his suit jacket.
It was good to be alive.

Hypothetically, Tommy saying “he doesn’t have much long left” could definitely allude to the revival book not being 100%. We still don’t know the details behind it, after all, like what Dream had to do to actually revive Tommy, or what might happen after the fact as a physical consequence onto Tommy.
However much I find that absolutely intriguing, there’s not a lot of evidence for it, although most my evidence for the following theory I’m about to propose is more so based on circumstantial evidence.
So, in looking at it purely based on facts, no assumptions or jumps, here’s what I think will happen.
Tommy’s plan, as of now, is to break into the prison. Make no mistake, this is what he is rooted entirely on. He’s going to break into the prison to kill Dream.
There is A LOT. And I mean A LOT of room for this plan to go very, very south. Canonically, Dream is malnourished, has been getting tortured for what has to be around a month for every day now, and has probably not exercised one bit since he entered the prison. He will be out of shape. Purely Dream SMP-wise, Tommy has a big chance at killing him.
Obviously, this does not operate the same as for just looking at the Dream SMP as block characters. Unless Dream is able to portray someone weakened and physically weak, he will be the same strength he was before, and obviously better at PVP. Tommy will have weapons and armor, though, so the chance for Dream to fight back against Tommy and live is very, very slim.
Therefore,
There are many possibilities for Tommy’s break-in to the prison, then. If we omit the good possibilities, this is a simplistic, off-my-head list of what could happen.
Tommy can die, again. This one is very slim, however, and I want to say the chance of this happening is near impossible, but it’s still a viable option, so, what can I say?
Dream can revive Wilbur. He may raise Wilbur from the dead, then, and be able to either escape or throw Tommy off enough to postpone it.
Dream can call in that favor from Technoblade. It depends on what Techno does, but the bad option here is that Dream will escape, or will kill Tommy.
Dream could get killed by Tommy. This one is also very slim, not because he doesn’t have a lot of chance to, but because there is no way I could see Dream getting killed off like this, this early.
As for what I see as the most likely, Dream will escape the prison as an effect to Tommy’s break-in. There’s more canon basis to support this, given the sirens at the end of Big Q’s latest big lore stream, signifying that Dream has escaped the prison. There’s little chance Tommy will die, there’s little chance Dream will die, and I can’t see Dream just staying in the prison with all of the build-up. I don’t know exactly how Dream will have escaped prison, then, perhaps with Wilbur coming in by being revived or Technoblade’s favor. Either way, this is the what I see happening the most.
Then, what does Tommy mean when he says that he doesn’t have long left? He’s alluded to this, as in his death, in the context of the Final Disc War, before, and it never really happened, and the chances then are practically equal to now, if not more in Tommy’s favor, but meta-wise if we consider that there’s no way they would just kill Tommy off after everything (especially with the knowledge of revival still with Dream, after all, Dream is far too obsessed with Tommy to let him go).
Tommy knows he won’t die by Dream’s hands. If he does, he’ll be brought back. Retraumatized, but alive. I don’t think this is what he means when he says he won’t have long left.
However, if we consider a possibility where Dream escapes, what will happen to Tommy?
Well, first off, Dream will wreak havoc amongst the server. He’ll start uproars and go after people in acts of revenge and generally just cause destruction, once again.
If we ignore Dream in that narrative, however, and just take it that he escapes the prison, what will happen to Tommy?
Tommy has signed a waiver, in the prison, at least twice now saying that if the prisoner escapes during or after his visit as a direct effect of what happens, anyone is given the permission to hunt him down and kill him for good. This would most certainly include Sam.
I don’t think he’s willing to implicate anyone else not because Dream is dangerous, but because he’s scared of what will happen to them as a direct consequence of what his plan is, and scared of what Sam will do to him.
Perhaps not specifically Sam, as the waiver gives permission for anyone, but I can’t see anyone completely willing to kill Tommy right now, aside from Jack, who would be dead-set on it because of his actions regarding the prison. Either way, Tommy had zoned out as a trauma response to Jack’s shouting at him, so it’s uncertain as to whether or not he fully grasped the gravity of what Jack had been saying. Nonetheless, I think the person in the forefront of his mind would be Sam.
Here’s the thing, then: Tommy knows how much Sam cares about the prison. He knows that Sam prioritizes it over everything, and he knows how serious he is about it all. He even comments during his revival stream here that Sam would absolutely leave him in the prison alone if he thought Dream had escaped and that Tommy was lying to save his skin. Kill him, maybe even.
His plan now is a contradiction to that mindset earlier, that Tommy could not Dream. The thing that was holding him back in the past, however, was that he was terrified of being left alone. He didn’t want to be left alone, with no contact, trapped in the confines of the prison, especially with all of his trauma surrounding it and with his claustrophobia.
He could not have killed Dream while he was in the prison, because he was unsure of what Sam would do and was unsure if he would have been left alone. It was a quick, panicked decision in the moment regardless, right after quite a bit of trauma.
However, Tommy now, he has had time to stew on it, no longer panicking from every hit or cut, to think about what he thinks he needs to do and the possible consequences from what he is going to do, because we all know Tommy does not perform well under pressure, and often makes a lot better decisions afterward, but has still reached the same conclusion, clearly.
Dream needs to die. It doesn’t matter if it’s by Tommy, because it’s not a plot for revenge, but he needs to die. That revive book cannot be used by anyone, and especially not Dream.
But, if Dream manages to escape the prison as a consequence of Tommy breaking in (with withers, might I add, which would definitely be worse than trying to saunter in), then what happens to Tommy?
Again, several possibilities. To name two,
Tommy could be prepared to die here. He’s most likely still careful about Sam, and if we take Sam’s priority of the prison above Dream into question, then he could definitely trap Tommy into the prison, or, like Tommy’s waiver sign says, “give permission for any individual to hunt [him] down and kill [him] until [he is] completely dead.”
He could forever stay on the run in this scenario, which would make his farewell to Tubbo and his fears of “not lasting any longer” understandable.
He knows Sam will gun it for him, and, again, that he will be a definitive target. He’d definitely be afraid of dying here, and, in his mind, the threat of getting caught is ever prevalent, and he could die.
His preparation for death, then, explains why he’s doing about the same thing he did in his VOD of his last night on the SMP. He’s tying up loose ends and trying to get over his trauma so he won’t leave this world with untied knots and so he won’t wander around in limbo with unfinished business or feelings and words never spoken. He’s preparing for a fight in which his death is a certain possibility again, and he’s preparing for it in the same way he did back then.
I’m not sure what Sam would do even if Dream were to die by Tommy’s hands. Sam certainly wants Dream dead, but his warden instincts and priorities may take over his, you know, desires. It’s not entirely stated what he would do in the case that Dream were to die, but I can imagine that the warden side of him would not be very happy with Tommy.
This is all still speculation, of course. The Dream SMP is known for twists and loops, I wouldn’t be surprised if they pulled one last second, but this is generally not a theory on what will happen, although I do delve into that, but more my insight and thoughts about why Tommy claims he doesn’t think he’ll last long.
In the end, though, as a TL;DR, I think Tommy is afraid of the consequences to killing Dream rather than Dream himself, because while he’s the biggest factor for Tommy’s trauma, Dream’s chances at killing Tommy and Tommy staying dead are incredibly low, and no reason for Tommy to claim that he doesn’t have long left.

Zero's Delicious Revenge
((Hey guys and gals. Just wanna revamp a few sentences to make really clear and steamy for ya. Once again for those who are young, you don't need to read this fiction. It's for adults only. So without any further ado, please enjoy the story! 😊))
Downwards into the dark yet unknown torture room, somewhere hidden or secret underneath the Hunter Base, that no one, not even the pacifist hunter would even try to find out about it. For it is unlike any other styles that anyone saw into a horror movie or shows watched on TV. Someone crazed for domination to arrive towards humanity to become rid of from earth before the true beginning of a new world for only the strongest reploids to stand by his side until there's nothing left. A former commander of the Maverick Hunters whose morality have morphed from sane to mad due to the unavoidable Wily Virus, have been chained against or to the walls built with auto control restraints just to cease him from planning to flee. He is known as Sigma, supreme king of the Mavericks. He would slowly open his eyes to regain his consciousness. The last thing that he had remembered is from the previous battle with Zero, now becoming stronger than he was in the past and won. Secondly, thinking about trying to become victorious until the continuation of his usual schemes by erasing the existence of all organic individuals once and for all. Before delivering the drastic finale, the fire colored hunter would then pull out a powerful trick from his sleeve, by transforming into the unstoppable Absolute Zero. Ending the epic duel at once with a quick swift of his Calamitous Arts, damaging his arch foe without hesitation thus far. Humiliation has clothed him for his arrogance against the Class A sword wielder, the sins poured upon his greatness as punishment for the destruction of mankind while his enemy calls for backup to arrest him.
"This is not over yet, hunter... In return, I will regain my dream of creating a new world for only the strongest reploids to become free of the disdainful humans..." Pledged the defeated boss, growling of vengeance. Before escorting him to the containment jail, the scarlet crusaders proceeded toward him with hands planted on the hips and smirked at him mockingly.
"Honestly, I hardly felt bad for you, Sigma. For your so called dreams for a grand world, always end up being turned into ruin by us Maverick Hunters. And yet, you still don't learn. But don't worry, I'm sure you'll earn yourself a private underground cell for not so long time until you're a good boy." He chuckled. "And by the way, I'll be your harden warden from now on." Then he patted the bald villain's head until snapping his fingers as a signal for the other hunters to take him away to HQ.
And now, here he is. Trapped within the doorless shack of a prison facility, covered into the wounds of his nemesis's claws and arms completely destroyed or hacked off permanently.
"Argh.... C...Curse him.... I had almost dismantled him if I didn't gain the chance to strike him down before his transformation...." Staggered the irregular boss, coughing up a few drops of blood while trying to speak clearly. "W...Where am I? And....what happened to my arms?!"
His answers to a few mysterious questions was right above him the entire time, from the last fight as he was hanging upside down like a bat into the cave. But this time, he's the repli-fied version.
"He he he he he he...... Oh poor useless commander... You still haven't learn, have you? Always posing yourself as the large hotshot whose too perfect to clean his pride... Or maybe to wash his own ass..." Said the unknown reploid. Chuckling darkly at his failure.
"You... Show yourself this instant and face me!" Screamed the big boss of the Maverick society, looking into a slow condition to view who is was.
A surprise has rained down upon him when the blacked themed android hovers by land, revealing himself to him as, you guest it, Zero. He grinned with a menacing plot in store for the scarred villain in chains, with no arsenal or hands to protect him from his deadly claws.
"Peek-a-boo...."
"So it is you, Zero..."
"Hello, Sigma... How do you like your new home? It suits your doomed misery quite well, obviously. But enough of that. Because I'm your worst nightmare now and this time, my revenge for turning me against my boyfriend by your pathetic control is strongly personal.... "
"Hmph... Ignorant hunter.... Do you really think your feeble threats would even phase me, the unbeatable Sigma? You're completely out of your elements..." He scoffed. "No one would ever hope to defeat m-!"
Then, he was interrupted by the clawed hand grasping violently just to shut him up. But the goth themed vampire was still calm with expression, not even amazed by his gloating whatsoever.
"Sigma Sigma Sigma... Seriously, are you even listening to yourself? That sad attempted speech of yours is always humiliating to me. Plus, it really annoys the hell out of me completely more than Axl's immaturity. No matter what you always do in order to change the world for your disgusting amusement, it will always fail by my hands, including X's. Using me as your so called "prized creation" just to force my decisions into beating my beloved boyfriend, but not this time. Nor ever. From now on, I'm in control of my own self today, and let's just say, that you're positively shit out of luck here. Without your precious minions to cover your helpless ass or anything that you hold dear within your pockets, it's all gone. Every. Single. One. And guess what, big boy? You're gonna be much more fun to play with when nobody's even around to interrupt our alone time... And additionally, my bitch..."
Proceeding his face and body towards him into a close action while placing the claws onto his chest, grinning once more but showing his devious white diamond fangs. Ready to pierce some flesh and synthetics. Before doing to what Sigma would've thought of his opponent would do, he whispers into his ear port with a flirtatious manner.
"But you know what, I think you're actually kinda hot when you're vaguely miserable and weak in that naughty condition~ In fact, it makes me very, VERY horny to just suck your wounded lips right now~ And mostly, I find you aggressively attractive~" He said with a quiet yet sultry tone, placing his hands onto the big bad wolf's cheeks. Staring into his eyes before the beginning of this "tortuous interrogation". "How about a little fun, or maybe perhaps, a kiss~?"
"W...What?!" He said in a surprised state, weakly blushing. Hardly anything in his mind to reply, but alas, he was silenced by the biting kiss in the mouth.
"Hissssssssssssss~ Hush your shitty tongue, "commander"~ And let me drain your glorious bravery from your broken chatterbox...sexually~" Hissed the terrifying blood sucker silently, attempting to zip his trap by pressing his mouth into the former commanding officer's.
And finally during the horrifying talk towards him, the blond demon would desperately began to make out with his enemy all over as well as the jacked neck. Hands stroking from behind the back so smoothly, running his tongue across the face and travels into his mouth by a deep kiss. So hungrily that the core inside of him is pleading for more, but his revenge needs it instead.
"Mmmph! Mmmph!" He once again shouted, trying to break away the unbreakable mouth lock.
"Mmmm~ Oh yes~ I want to hear your crying squeals, big boy~ It really increases my thirsty needs~" Moaned Zero, craving for more of such delectable hollers. How it does represent the music to his hearing ports. Much more beautiful to enjoy.
In difficult situations like the ones during a kidnapping scene, where a victim was abducted by a criminal for a proper beating of sexual abuse in order to get what they want. Right now, it's almost similar to what the winged Wily bot is doing to the irregular king, but with a tortuous seduction with no conclusion until vengeance has been earned immediately. He is strongly mad for such a massive neck like Sigma's during his love making madness. Scratching his bald head into a circulatory motion, slurping in his mouth all forcibly as the starving loin waiting for his prey to appear for dinner. Such depraved agony for the doomed ex commander, now trapped within the palms of his vampiric warden.
He finally started to shiver in cowardice increasingly due to the visions he had. Now, that nightmare has came true to scare away his soul, if he had one. Attempting to retrieve his bravery by shrugging his head to get away, but a futile trickery such as that will grant him the maximum dose of terrorized punishment.
"It's effortless to think about fighting back in your weak condition, big man~ In fact, there isn't gonna BE any hope for you now~ He he he he~" Chuckled the menacing android. Continuously slobbering more pain and destruction upon the crushed master of evil. Instead, with a passionate position during his permanent mouth to mouth kiss.
"Mmmmph....!  Mmmmmmmph!"
"Mmm~ Mmmmmm~ God, your bruised lips are so hot, papa~ It's just the way I like it for the first time~ The desirable pain from you has gotten me REALLY satisfied~" For he's quite right, this torturing phenomenon was incredibly intriguing to him. "Give it to me, ya big bitch~"
"You are...foolishly insane, Zero...." Coughed the battered evil doer, whose spirit will be crushed soon until the nightmare was over.
"That's right~ I'm correctly bat shit for your helplessness showering all over me, running all over my crotch just to please me~ But now, I want more from you~" Licking his pale lips of a starving attitude, he approached himself to the large baddie for a second of his weaken but scrumptious kiss.
"Pucker up, daddy~" Whispered the hard killing droid, yearning for some kinky tongue to tongue action. Inserting his into the enemy for a slow search of his cowardice to eat. Deeper than ever before.
Sigma, also known as the ultimate leader of all things irregular who rules with a powerful yet gruesome fist than iron, has now become the frantic victim of unlimited chaos which is standing in front of him. No hope, dreams, weapons or arms. All that he have ever possessed was already taken from him by force. Along with his rank, popularity, fearlessness and spirit, now belonging to the evil dark themed hunter to steal. It was all over for him as he began to talon his whole body, instead of ripping it off. Having his entire armor to freeze with more restraint. Greatly scared for his life, Zero forcibly pins him to the wall for some delectable playtime at last. Or otherwise, his dinner.
"Well, Sigma~ I'd really hate to stop our get together activity so soon, however, there's nothing more better than to snack onto something....fierce~ Ah~ And finally it was there in front of me the whole time~"
"No.... P...Please.... I beg of you.... Anything but this...." He shattered with fear.
"Shhh~ Don't worry, big bear~ I'm fully aware that it won't hurt....much~" Purred the onyx incubus, with red eyes glowing unlike the dangerous monster in the closet.
The grand finale has made its appearance, for the long patience has been concluded at last. He tilted his head closely to the neck of a muscular maverick who is permanently victimized and surrounded by the ghosts of Nightmare Viruses floating above him, taunting his failures for not destroying the elite forces or to achieve his desires for a paradise world for reploids only. All will go against him for eternity when it comes to weaknesses. For he had no other choice but to give in of being a slave.
"Do as you wish.... For I lack the reason to live without the purpose... You have won... Maverick Hunter Zero..." He finally admitted towards him. Losing his chances to establish a new world to rid the humans from hoping to ever exist alongside reploids.
"Now that's more like it~... But unfortunately, it's too late for apologies this time~"
Then, finally, he have inserted his fangs deeply into his opponent's neck, sexually feasting in peace until Sigma began to scream loudly just to satisfy his extreme vengeance forever.
"ARRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Yeeeeeeeeessss~ Scream for me now, big daddy~" He whispered, impaling the pointed fangs deeper.  Ohh, you're such a naughty maverick, aren't ya~? Looks like I'm gonna have to punish you more~" Aroused Zero.
He kept preying even harder, but moans in complete and utter silence while holding the threatening villain down. Wrapping his arms around the body to claw diagonally into a calm pace to full his enjoyment. Grinding his black armored anatomy onto his with extreme lust, grasping his enormous ass with one of his hands and slaps it into a hot way during his fun time. Secondly, participated into the tongue lock as well before folding his wings around both of them for a darker privacy in mind. WIthout interferences.
"Mmmmmm~ Oh Sigma~ Sweet Sigma~ How I love your terrifying squeals of the night~ For it bounds before my superiority as the new and true badass of Abel City to welcome my powerfulness~ Feed me more of your fear~ For my hunger for revenge has reached its end~ But my meal will never become the conclusion~" He spoke, licking his ear port all the way. Once again, hissing very loudly to return to the neck for an endless supper.
"No.... It couldn't be....No! NO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
"He he he.... Keep howling, Sigma boy~ But nobody's gonna hear it from you~ And now, it's dinner time~" Running his extended tongue once more and across his decimated body before going back on his dinner. Caressing over his steel crotch by interest has shown a lustful smirk upon his pale face for just a little scavenger hunt.
"Damn, Sigma~ That's a nice looking bolt you got down here~" Impressed the shadowed blonde, soothing the maverick lord's glory box.
"U...Ugh...." Groaned the threatening villain whose throat have been crippled, felt of his rival's bladed claws tighten of the grasp by the crotch.
"Mmm~ You know, it would be very bad of me just to ruin a sexy piece of massiveness, but it makes a perfect chance for me to punish it~" And so, with that of a remarkable thought in mind of interrogation, he grips the golden treasure of his arch enemy due to the extreme hardness, provoking the scarred eyed devastator to groan of a scream for a clear taste. Including a few slappings, motioning, etc to force him to cry.
"Oh yes~ I wanna hear more of your agonizing squeals, big baby~ it makes my body feel so hot~" Intrigued the black clad vampire. "Even your low hardness really inspires my interests when I "abuse" it~"
And so, he does that when dominating the large superior's hard bolt so sensually. Caressing, groping along with a little thirsty cheek licking to rise up the mood of this dungeon as well as his interests.
"Man, you must've been exercising that brave box quite a lot, Sigma~" He meowed, while running his tongue all over the face. "But, I bet it can hardly survive against my bloody palms~"
"Grr...." He snarled, like an impatient toddler.
"Oh there's no need to get all pouty, my commanding slave~ While I'm the king of this jungle, all I can do now is torment your fragile yet gorgeous body with mine~ All the time~" Leaning his body against the enemy's for an even fascinating fun, secondly with his hand remained attached towards the harden maverick jewel by grip. Purring rapidly into his ear port and advancing his tongue all over him including the neck, legs, lips and ears. Grinding endlessly, anatomy to anatomy into a sensually condition. Every single time or day and night.
"U...Unh..." Moaned the irregular predator, who either enjoys the torment or despise it.
"Mmmm~ Come on, big bitch~ You know you love it when I ground you for being a naughty maverick~" He hissed seductively, taking the other hand to spank his massive ass. "Unh~ Mmm~ Now who's your master~?
"H...Hmph..." He refused. But without his bravery or fearlessness to save him from the clad hunter. "You are...."
"Good boy~ Now let me kiss you and everything you have, so violently~" He purred again, pulling his face towards for an aggressive lip to lip in order to please his hunger. Deeply with force all over with no stopping whatsoever, along with the grabbing of the ass and polishing his body by smooth grinding.
"Unh.... U... Unh...."
"Oh yes~ Yes~ Give it to me, big boy~ Unh~ Unh~ God, you're even more sexier in your disintegrated state~" He moaned without ever needing to rest.
Then, the enormous overlord have descended his heartbroken tears from his peers, wanting the ex maverick to wipe them all out by his tongue and silencing his sobbing with a relaxing mouth lock once more. Returning to yet another of his private torture by sensually neck kissing all the way before it's done.
"Mmm~ Your bold neck is so delectable and yet, very sexy as hell, big daddy~" He said to the leader of the mavericks with an invigorating tone, making love to it. "Somehow, I'm amused of its crippled feature right now, but I still think of it as honestly hot~"
And that, it's absolutely true. For the horrid neck does look very tasty at its best for the shadow armored hunter's sexual liking. For his attempt to abuse it for a slight minute would even cause him to blush of naughtiness. Or perhaps something else. But no matter to him anyway for his continuation of the victim's neck will be the most scrumptious meal of all.
"C...Curse you once more, Zero.... Curse your impudent foolishness for destroying my schemes...." Growled the half broken mad maverick weakly.
"Aww, tryna burf out your little insults at me~? Now that's not very nice at all~ But since you've been an honest prick of a maverick, I'll decide to let you off with a warning~" Spoke the reploid demon. Slurping his tongue all across the ear port and the bulk chest before going back to his playful supper.
"I'm gonna enjoy violating you in your dreams so badly, bitch~" He said, continuously crippling the ex superior by punishing his body after everything he took away that was dear to him, sucking on his nose and mouth very hard.
"Y...You barbaric maniac..." He spilled. All cramped and battered from an endless torture.
"Mmm~ I love it when your low level insults kept pouring all over me~ It feels so hot~" The blond was intrigued, caressing his body while imagining himself being showered by his bald nemesis's crappy ridicules. Rocking his tongue around like crazy. Resuming his private business by slobbering once more all over the irregular king by fangs, pleasuring his iron crotch into a loop while breathing a sultry hiss towards his face.
"Hisssssssssssss~"
"U...Ugh... Argh...."
Unfortunately, his endless playtime with Sigma had almost arrive to a close, but not until it's over as the blonde blade wielder could punish him again by granting a poisonous smooch by the mouth, in order to drain his strategies and movements along. Without any hope not freedom to slice off the unbreakable chains of trapped seduction. He have felt the deadly serum venturing inside his mind or traveling everywhere, losing his consciousness that quickly.
"That's for ruining everyone and both mine as well as my friend's lives by your damn stench of human obliteration.... " Hissed Zero, extending his clawed hand into a reach to grab his prisoner's chin before "cursing" him with one last kiss.
He chuckled as his final words before meeting his critical demise by death.
"Sleep tight forever, my former commander~" He grinned menacingly, pushing his pale yet frost lips with a deep force into the irregular king's. Laying his hands upon his boned face for an icy love/torture making of a lifetime before the gruesome decapitation to shut his existence for good.
"And good riddance~" Before ending the crumbled maverick villain's existence, he offered the frosty smooch once more into the lips for the last time. Never to look or think about his devious comeback no longer.
"Mmmm~ Ahhh~" Gifting him this frosted "curse" should be able to permanently force the arrogant ex leader of HQ to slumber for all eternity until the final decapitation. By a quick swipe of his claws to end the life of Sigma, severing his head from the body. "And lastly, thanks for the perfect meal~" The deed has been finished. No mavericks, no problems. He then taste his blood by licking his hand. Finger by finger.
"Mmmm~ Delicious~"
And thus, his revenge has purposely created a new ending. Perhaps a peaceful version, to be exact. However, the full course was no longer done just yet until every drip of blood was driven dry from his body. Thankfully, his very schemes have been declined for good this time. And tranquility had once again return to embrace all beings as well as reploids and humanity. All thanks to the heroic Maverick Hunters.
Few days later when nighttime arises, peace has regain its true colors once more due to the rigorous defeat of the insanely mastermind of the mavericks, plus, to allow all civilians and reploids to live as equals forever. At least for now. Hovering above the building in front of the blissfully snow themed moon,  The dark vampiric droid would be able to live free from the horrid shackles of bad memories grappling him down, or to become a mindless puppet to use for trying to kill the blue B Class. But it's all over. Within his hand, grasps the head of his frighten victim after his "interrogation" from earlier. However, it was quite intriguing. Before descending towards a new mission, he lifted it up and closely to make love by kissing it one last time.
"Thanks again for the wonderful evening we have together, big boy~ Quite a shame that you won't be around to view my victories after all~" He purred, pressing his lips softly and hard deeply into Sigma's. Sadly, that was his first and last tongue kiss he had with the bat themed individual, even though that he is decapitated from his body. Deserting the broken head by hurling it faraway into the ocean of force.
"And good bye, you sexy bitch~" He blew a kiss after tossing his enemy's damaged head for good, never to be seen again until he heads for a new reconnaissance.
In conclusion, the war was completely done with as we speak. Not only justice was decently served at last, but his vengeance as well. To him, revenge is the most scrumptious dish ever made cold.
The End

The Yanderes As Horror Movie Villains
Slasher-thirst Tumblr is a wild place, but I would like to thank it personally for helping to inspire this post. I realize these are all debatable, but I hope I provided adequate enough arguments to explain everyone’s placement, please enjoy!
Connor: Buffalo Bill (Silence of the Lambs)
At a cursory glance of the two, one might come to the conclusion this is a man who follows the rules, one who appears just as normal and well-adapted as any other. However, bind closed doors; in private, it is only then that they would show there is much more to them than meets the eye.
Bill is described as “He wasn’t born a killer, he was made one.” This reflects the way Connor may have been created to serve a purely functional purpose for the benefit of humans through the events of his life, as well as through his own choices, he becomes something of his own making. He becomes an individual as a result of his own free will.
As a yandere, Connor would likely experience intense frustrations over being created as an android, and he couldn’t help but act out on these frustrations, maybe even taking some of this out on you. He wants to be what he fundamentally isn’t, and it kills him.
Markus: Micheal Myers (Halloween)
While there may be a bit of hesitance for Markus to decide which path he desires to pursue. (Be that pacifism or violence.) Once he has made up his mind, he will follow through without hesitation or a second thought. Quite similar to the way Micheal devotes his life to stalking his sister and completing his “unfinished business.”
While not precisely as bloodthirsty or ruthless as some of the other killers present, Micheal is far from squeamish and is just as capable of ending the life of his victims, or really any who get in his way as any other. And given a choice, Markus is equally competent in this regard.
As a yandere, Markus would really personify Meyer's chilling stalker side. He can easily play with you without making himself visible, maybe even without you noticing anything at all at first. He’s a tricky one to figure out, and even if you do think you understand him, it’s all the more difficult to convince others to see him as dangerous as you do.
Kara: Norman Bates (Psycho)
While she may initially pride herself on her ability to look after those under her care, God only knows what she’s capable of, should one cross her, or try to challenge her by hurting those she’s close to.
It’s practically within both of their DNA to latch onto what provides them with love. She wants above all things to keep those she loves safe, to never abandon them, or in other words, to never let them get away.
The two of them share a demeanor, which would suggest they are far weaker than they actually are. Norman acts particularly secretive and shifty around strangers, and Kara will generally function with her cards close to her chest, never really proving just how strong she is without a good reason to do so.
Hank: Freddy Kruger (A Nightmare on Elm Street)
This is a little tricky to explain, but if you view the events which play out in their story as a timeline, there is a massive connection between the two. At the start of their roles in the story, they worked hard to maintain (and even uplift) a positive reputation, however, due to one dramatic change. For Freddy, it’s the discovery of what he’d done to the children of the town, and for Hank, the loss of his son. Which change their lives and reputation forever. For Freddy, this results in the city burning him alive, and for Hank, this leads to a downward spiral of alcoholism, among other self-destructive habits.
Additionally, there’s a common theme of escapism, which connects the two. The way Freddy waits until his victims are asleep, and he has the chance to kill them in their sleep, while Hank’s life is changed by his reliance on alcohol to escape the tragedy of life, and to avoid his own feelings.
Once he eventually does find his passions again, though, be it falling in love with you or managing to re-discover his enthusiasm for his job Hank will peruse these with enthusiasm and passion equal to Freddy’s.
Luther: Pinhead (Hellraiser)
Even though Luther doesn’t hold onto his initially created purpose for long in the game, that doesn’t change the fact the two of them were designed to cause harm and evil. Though admittedly through very different paths, and scales.
Both are far more intelligent than they would likely admit. It’s interesting to note Luther knew how to handle himself well enough while in his master’s home so as not to fall victim to Zlatko’s sadism, but was also competent enough to know when he had a viable means of escape.
When it comes to getting his revenge on his master for the cruelty he caused, Luther doesn’t actually need to use violence to punish Zlatko. Leaving others to handle bringing him to justice, similarly to how Pinhead doesn’t need to use force as a way to intimidate or scare his victims.
North: Damien Thorn (The Omen)
There’s a theme that connects the two. However, this yields vastly different results for each character, respectively. The two fail to really understand their own strength, though, for Damien, this is on account of him undermining his abilities. While for North, this leads to her failure to be a proper leader for Jericho.
Deep down, as a yandere, North wouldn’t actually want to hurt you or give you any reason to fear or resent her. However, she just fails to understand humans in a fundamental way, which results in her accidentally bringing you harm again and again without learning her lesson.
She doesn’t really entirely seem to grasp or take accountability for the way her recklessness and impulsiveness will put others in danger. (The way a violent route can end with Markus getting shot and losing his life.) There’s no way she saw this coming, and only did what she did because she believed the ends would justify the means.
Simon: Rose Armitage (Get Out)
Say what you will about the way Rose betrays Chris at the end of the movie, from the very start she knows precisely where her true loyalties lay, and to the end, she does not compromise this.
Like many of the other androids fighting at Jericho, Simon wouldn’t be anyone’s first choice as a fighter. However, he is willing to prove, through either dying or surviving, he is far more capable than others saw him as. Rose definitely undergoes a change of her own and is far from the person the audience thought her to be at the start of the movie.
While in many ways, Simon would be the type to downplay his own voice and opinions in the name of preserving an overall peace, when it comes to what he has to say in regards to the more significant whole conflict, only then will he say how he really feels.
Josh: Carrie White (Carrie)
There’s a kind of bittersweet parallel which connects the two of them. That being, neither of them would intentionally go out of their way to hurt anyone, Josh, in fact, using most of his screen time to convince Markus from making violent decisions. Yet still, Carrie is eternally remembered for the deaths of her classmates, which died at her hands, and if Markus chooses to peruse violence, as an android, Josh will be remembered for his leader’s cruelty.
Likewise, as a yandere, Josh would hate to cause his love any kind of harm, or even really scare you too much, yet all the same, when pushed to his breaking point, he is just as willing and capable of inflicting pain as any other.
Many would say because of this, then deep down, they really always were this cruel and violent to their core. This is entirely false, however. Deep down, Josh wants nothing more than a happy and willing partner, one who desires to provide him with the love he would give you.
Kamski: Patrick Bateman (American Psycho)
While his innovation and ambition would do well for him in terms of his career, it’s not all it would result in. Many who work closely with Kamski would take discomfort with his icy, stony outer shell, and would at the least distrust him, and at most, detest him.
The two share incredibly high standards both for themselves, as well as for those around them. Kamski will always be remembered for his “test” he forced Connor to complete, and it’s far from a stretch to imagine he would try to force you to undergo some kind of similar test to prove your loyalty to him.
And of course, this is not even to mention their obsession with their own self-image and unclockable narcissism. Elijah’s pension for self-isolation likely a result of the way he feels too caught up with himself to bother sharing company with another; he deems “unworthy.”
Chloe: Jennifer (Jennifer's Body)
She was programmed to be a companion and a servant first and foremost. She was designed to be something which completed another, with any care for her own well being or inner desires left as an afterthought.
As a yandere, it’s interesting to imagine her using this to her own benefit. As in, she would use her own charm and good looks to convince you she means no harm, and after all, how could someone who appears so innocent be up to no good?
Jennifer, as a villain, uses her own good looks and charisma to ensnare her victims, and you can bet Chloe would follow in this lead. She knows how to uses people’s outer perceptions of her against them.
Gavin: Jack Torrance (The Shinning)
There’s not really anything shown of Gavin’s life outside of work, so it’s tricky to gauge what exactly his passions are, however, what is clear is the way once Gavin becomes genuinely passionate about something at work he becomes far more animated and interested in following them through.
In The Shining, Jack balances a deeply nerving combination of both a loving father and husband, and a murderer, and you know as a yandere, Gavin would act eerily similar as well. Just as threatening as he is loving, playing equally as your lover, as well as tormentor.
What is plain to see between the two of them is their absolutely self-serving attitude in regards to themselves, as well as how this extends to others. Gavin doesn’t care who he upsets, or who he steps on to get what he wants, and there’s nothing anyone else to can do about it.
Zlatko: Jigsaw (Saw)
It’s debatable and not precisely well elaborated in the game what it is that motivated Zlatko to be so cruel and evil to androids. However, he does appear interested in testing the limits of what androids are capable of, and what they can endure, persuading a truth Zlatko himself doesn’t quite fully understand. Which in a roundabout way isn’t too far off from Jigsaw.
In his eyes, there is no such thing as a genuinely innocent being, and no one, human or android alike, is free from his pain. This absolutely would extend to you as his lover.
Furthermore, as a yandere, Zlatko would use pain and would continually put you through intense agony as a way to try and chip away at your free will. His end game here would be something like trying to slowly weaken your resolve until you were just as loyal to him as Jigsaw’s followers are to their leader.
Ralph: Annie Wilkes (Misery)
While he may not exactly have Annie’s innocent face, still, Ralph wasn’t programmed to be anything more than a farmer, and because of that, people may not see a real reason to fear him at first.
Unfortunately, he was left traumatized and fundamentally shaken from an attack long ago, which causes his violent mood swings. He can be just as pleasant and happy with you, and he can be cruel and hurtful. Again, even though he may not want to bring you harm, Ralph doesn’t really understand his own actions here and can fall victim to his own anger every now and then.
Additionally, it’s challenging for Ralph to hide any pain or anxiety he feels on the inside, and it’s near impossible for him to stop himself from hurting you during an intense emotional outburst, even if he knows deep down he’ll likely regret this later.
Daniel: The Babadook (The Babadook)
Both of them almost serve as a metaphor for the possible damage which arises from trying to hide your inner pain and feeling from the ones you love. This damage hurting both the host and those around them in the cross-fire.
There is an intense fear Daniel possesses, the fear that if he ever were to be genuinely vulnerable with you or to really show you any of his weakness, then you would just leave him and know how much he relies on you.
A part of him might actually genuinely think it’s for the best to be like this. It’s hard for him to ever really, totally grasp the way his anger and resentment hurts him, and how he doesn’t have any real reason to fear being open with you.
Nines: Hannibal Lector (Silence of the Lambs)
In the single scene, we see of Nines in the game, we know he isn’t there for any kind of a positive reason. He was created to eliminate Connor and send him away fro good. Yet still, as he stands there, Nines is perfectly poised and doesn’t show any kind of outward hostility or malice towards Connor.
His chilling reputation precedes him. Nines is deeply analytical, never failing to notice even the smallest of details, and even if you can’t stand who he is as an individual, it’s easy to see how he earned the position he currently occupies.
As a yandere, he’s all the more analytical and terrifying. Because of that, he wouldn’t feel the need to use any displays of violence to cause you to fear him, and he knows as well as any other the effect he has on you.

Limerence: (English/n.) the state of being infatuated with another person.
The moment their eyes locked they knew - the flames within him twisted while the water within her turned. It was a connection, a connection that would lead to love, adventure, and drama.
Tumblr media
Resfeber
(Swedish/v.) A desire to experience new things; anticipation for the unknown.
~ Unknown ~
“You travelled quite far…For what, hm? For me to partake in that little plan of yours? Ah, you never do change, do you?” The man purred mockingly as he caressed her long black hair, pushing it behind her ear.
She smiled with her pouty pink lips, although the man wasn’t stupid, he knew how deceiving her smiles were. She was a vixen. Sexy but dangerous, but that is what he likes after all. With a tight grip, she pushed his rough hand away, “Why change when I’m already perfect?” She said with a taunt as she confidently pushed herself against the man. He chuckled darkly, enjoying her advances. She was a master of manipulation, and for the time being, he was going to let her have her way.
“So what do you say? Join me?” She said with a playful smirk as she dipped her fingertips lower and lower down his broad chest. He grinned darkly before leaning in, while she eagerly anticipated for his answer. Finally, his lips brushed against her ear.
            “Fuck no.”
He stepped back and enjoyed the sight; she was fuming. He knew her better than she knew herself. She wasn’t nice. She wasn’t patient. She was a spoiled bitch; who always got what she wanted no matter what. And the best part, it took little to make her snap. “What do you fucking mean by no?” She hissed. Suddenly all seductive advantages dropped, and her golden eyes were ablaze; the real her shining through. “You heard me, no. What do I benefit from this, huh? Seems like a lot of work for jack shit.”
“The chance to hurt him. A chance to make him realize he is no better than us. That at the end of the day he is just like me.” She hissed, bitterness laced with every word. The man shook his head and tapped his chin, “That sounds more like a you problem. I gain nothing from this.” He said swiftly and crossed his arms. She laughed wickedly and shook her head, “Gain nothing from this? How about finally getting the revenge you always wanted, for the death of your poor innocent sister?” She purred out.
The man’s shoulder’s tensed as he ran a hand through his messy brown hair. His sister was his weak spot. It was what made him go went mad, shaped him into the man he was now, a ruthless killer. “If I wanted revenge I could just kill you.” She smiled amiably before walking back towards him and letting a finger trace along his clenched jaw, “You’re right, you could kill me and get your revenge. But we both know that would be no fun because you want the world to know how strong you are. How dangerous of a Waterbender you are. And killing me wouldn’t be a big enough meal to feed your ego. But damaging him would.”
He laughed bitterly; she indeed was the master of manipulation. Knowing precisely what buttons to press to make someone bend head over heels for her. “Fine, I'll play along. I'll depart in two days from when you leave.” She smiled, happy she got her way. “Perfect, I'll be arriving a few days before him. Plenty of time to make sure everything is in place.” With a quick turn on her heels, she began walking away, “When I get there you better be ready.” He said roughly. She continued walking away, but he could see her look over her shoulder with a grin, “Do I ever disappoint?”
~ Ying Yue Jiang ~
“Remember, stand straight, shoulders back, no, more like- that’s it!”
“Now chin up, look straight, darling- don’t let your eyes wander! Eye contact!”
“That’s it; now make sure your hands are also in front and stop biting your lip!”
I let out a massive huff while maintaining my famous smile as I continued walking the room for the nth time today like an idiot — the things I do for Zuko. For the past week and a half, day and night, here I have been; practicing non-stop the proper etiquette for Fire Nation royals with these lovely old ladies.
Both ladies looked at me with scrutiny as they observed every move I made, down to the way I nervously bit my lip. I knew they meant well, and they were just looking out for me, but this was the last thing I wanted to do, after attending these classes every day during our sails. They both seemed to notice I was getting irritated because right away they scowled and crossed their arms, “This is not about you darling, think of the bigger picture here. This is for Fire Lord Zuko.” She said as if to encourage me.
I sighed profoundly; I didn’t need her to remind me why I was working this hard, down to the way I sipped my soup at dinner or the way I took a sip of water. Ironically enough, despite me doing all of this for Zuko, whenever we were alone, that was the only time I could once again be myself. With a broad smile on my face, I started walking around the room once again, “How about now?” I asked, trying my hardest to remember every godforsaken rule. They both narrowed their eyes as they oversaw me.
“Good…but…” She started, and I groaned. Of course, there was a but, there is always a ‘but’ with these two ladies! I swear I'm going to- Before I could contemplate jumping overboard to escape these two women I heard someone laughing. I swiftly turned to the door to see Aang leaning against the door frame watching me play ‘princess’ as Suki and Toph would say. My eyes widen, and I was ready to jump up and say hi before a loud cough stopped me. I sighed and rolled my eyes before I begrudgingly gave Aang a small bow, “Avatar Aang, pleasure seeing you here.” I said elegantly.
Aang raised a brow, taken aback by my sudden political correctness, but he seemed to have caught on regardless. He stood up straight and returned my bow, although I could see the playful grin on his face. “Imperial Consort Ying Yue. I hope I'm not interrupting since you seem to be having fun.” I gave him a smile, a smile much too large which Aang only laughed at, “I'm having the time of my life.” I said through my teeth. Aang is enjoying this way too much, this monster. He contently watched me suffer silently, oh, but just you wait Aang, you’re my ticket out of this!
“Avatar Aang, I'm guessing that since you're here that only means it's time for me to leave.” Aang looked at me puzzled, and the two older ladies quickly jumped in, “Go where, we’ve only been practicing for ten hours, and we have much to go over still for tomorrow!” They said in sync. I smiled sweetly and politely bowed, “My deepest apologies, Fire Lord Zuko said he would send Avatar Aang my way when he is no longer tied up in political matters so we may spend some time together before our arrival tomorrow at the Fire Nation. Although if it's an issue, I assume you two lovely ladies can talk to Fire Lord Zuko about it, hm?”.
They both looked at each other hesitantly before bowing back at me, “If it's the Fire Lord’s wishes we shall accept. Have a pleasant evening, Imperial Consort Ying Yue.” I nodded my head and swiftly turned to face Aang, who had a mixture of emotions playing on his face; confusion and amusement. I finally let my guard drop and gave Aang a look that just barely skimmed the surface of how happy I was to get the hell out of there. I shut the door behind me, and within seconds I let my shoulders drop and let out a huff.
“I swear if Zuko doesn’t comment on how nicely I bow I'm going to kill him.”
Aang laughed out heartily as we began wandering down the hallway. “That bad huh?” I groaned out loud and shook my head, “You don’t even know. Thanks for going along with it, you know, about Zuko saying he wanted to see me.” I said, Aang grinned and gave me a thumbs up, “Nothing to thank me for, although, I must say. Threatening them with ‘Fire Lord Zuko,’ very unlike you.” Aang said with a raised brow.
“I was desperate,” I said with a laugh. Aang laughed along as he shook his head, genuinely surprised to see me hate something so much. “So now that you made your grand escape, what now fugitive?” I rolled my eyes, but I couldn’t hide the small yawn that escaped my lips. It was late in the evening, as I could see the moon lighting up the night sky and the stars casting a beautiful glow on the water through the portholes. “Bed.”
“Already?! Not even Gran-Gran goes to bed this early.” Aang said baffled. I couldn’t stop the giggle that left my lips realizing that Aang just compared me to Gran-Gran. “We are arriving tomorrow, and I need to rest. I have to wake up super early to get dressed.” I groaned out remembering all of the details Lia told me regarding hair and makeup, although I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit excited, who doesn’t like to get dolled up?
“What about you? What are you doing?” I asked. Aang pointed at himself, and it was then I noticed that he wasn’t wearing his usual mustard coloured Airbender robes, they were looser than usual, “You're training now? At this hour?” I asked shocked. Aang nodded, “A workout before bed is the best.” I smiled at his excitement before I noticed that up ahead was Zuko’s study. Aang seemed to notice as well because he raised his brow, “You going to say goodnight before you go to bed?” He asked. I shrugged my shoulders, fighting against the temptation to visit Zuko.
Despite us, both being stuck together on the ship for a week and a half, Zuko and I barely saw each other. Every day from the moment we left he was locked away in his study preparing for the Earth King’s visitation. The only time I did see him was during the night. Every night he would gently knock on my door, bidding me a goodnight kiss before he departed. No matter how many times I asked him about his work he would shake his head ‘no’ and say that when he was with me, he didn’t want to talk about it because ‘I shouldn’t be burden with such matters.’ It wasn’t like I could force him to talk, so I respected his wishes, even though the curiosity in me was dying to know.
“I don’t know…he is busy,” I said with a pout. Aang gave me a look, and before I could react, he ran up to the door and began knocking. My eyes widen, and I ran up to Aang, grasping his hand to stop him from knocking non-stop, “What are you doing~!?” I hissed out lowly. Aang grinned before pulling away, “I love it when Katara surprises me with visits, you should try it with Zuko.” He said playfully. Before I could rebuttal, Aang dashed away. I squealed feeling the gust of wind roughly push against me as he ran with such speed around the corner, leaving me utterly speechless.
“Ying Yue…what are you doing here?”
I turned around only to bump into a surprised Zuko. I blushed and quickly began waving my hands frantically, “I’m sorry, I – uh, goodnight?” I stumbled out, taken off guard. I’ve known the man for how long now, and I still can’t formulate one coherent sentence? Zuko looked down at me amused. His hair was pulled back, and he wore his military uniform, but now that I was close to him I couldn’t help but notice how tired he looked.
Deep dark circles hugged the underneath of his eyes while his eyes looked strained, clouding the golden shimmer he usually had. He even seemed a bit paler than usual. His skin no longer glowing as brightly. Why am I just noticing now that he looks mentally beat? I frowned and instinctively placed a hand on his cheek, “Zuko…you look exhausted. You need to rest. You’re overworking yourself.” All giddiness was gone as I apprehensively overlooked Zuko.
Zuko smiled softly before he gently grabbed my waist, “Come inside.” He said softly. I nodded and shut the door closed with my foot once we were inside, still cupping his face, “Zuko, I'm not joking. You need to sleep…” I said with concern. Zuko groaned, and I noticed his grip on my waist tightened before he finally let his forehead rest against mine, “I have many things I have to get done once I get to the Capital, I have to do as much as I can now.”
I closed my eyes knowing that what he said was right, but it was still concerning seeing him drained. “How about you call it an early night. Rest up for tomorrow.” I said with pleading eyes. Zuko laughed lightly, “Did you just come here to lecture me?” He asked.
“You can thank Aang for that. I was going to go to bed, but he insisted I came to see you first.”
“You didn’t want to see me?” Zuko said as he placed his hand on his chest as if I had hurt him. I rolled my eyes and lightly slapped his arm, “I mean – I know you were busy and I didn’t think you wanted to be bothered.”
“Why wouldn't I not want to see what is mine?” Zuko said playfully, and for a split moment, the tiredness left his face. I pouted and gently poked his chest, “I'm not some object that you can own.” Zuko smirked and suddenly pulled me close to him, I gasped from the sudden movement, and he abruptly gripped my chin with his free hand, “You’re mine, love.” Zuko said firmly. I blushed and wanted to fight back, but I would be lying if I said that I didn’t enjoy Zuko’s natural possessiveness.
“Zuko~!” I whined out which in return made him chuckle. He quickly pecked my forehead, but his grip on me didn’t loosen up. Instead, he let his head rest on the crook of my neck as his hands snaked around my body. I could feel him breathe peacefully, and I instinctively wrapped my arms around him. “I'm exhausted,” Zuko muttered out. I laughed and let my hand run up and down his back. Gosh, I missed this. I never realized how needy I was until now. We never got much time to ourselves, this being the most intimate moment we’ve shared during this whole journey.
“I could fall asleep like this…” Zuko grumbled once again. I sighed contently, “I prefer you don’t, you’re quite heavy.” I said with a giggle. Zuko chuckled before lifting his head, “Are you ready for tomorrow?” He asked.
“As ready as I'll ever be. How about you? Excited to see your family?”
Zuko smiled like a child at the mention of his family before he nodded, “I can’t wait till I show you off.” He said with a grin. I felt my cheeks rosy up once again before I gently punched Zuko’s chest, “Zuko!” I said embarrassed. He laughed before finally pulled away altogether, curiously, I watched him walk towards his desk and lean behind, in search of something. “What are you doing?” I asked, although he ignored my inquiry and continued searching. I walked over to him carefully, and just as I was about to peak over his shoulder, he turned around, with an enormous box in hand.
My eyes widen as it was a wooden box, painted red with a gold bow on top, “I was going to give this to you tomorrow, but since we will both be busy, here.” I gasped as I struggled to hold the box; it was huge and heavy. “Wha-what is it?” I asked. Zuko poked my nose, “Instead of asking me every time I give you something, just open it.” I stuck my tongue out at him and preceded to place the box on a clear space on his desk.
Carefully I unwrapped the bow, and I hesitantly played along the edges of the lid, scared to open it. What could Zuko have gotten me? We are seriously in the middle of nowhere, where could he even have gotten me something? With a smooth motion, I lifted the lid and placed it off to the side, as I squealed seeing what was inside. Zuko must have enjoyed my expression because he bore the proudest smile on his face as I twirled around with the dress, inch by inch unravelling from the box and swaying with me.
It was everything I could have ever wanted and more. It wasn’t too overly decorated, and the beautiful bead-work along the sleeves of the dress was absolutely stunning. This is beautiful; I wish Suki were here so I can show her. “I hope you like it. I had a feeling you wouldn’t have something to wear tomorrow, so I asked the seamstress to design something. It would have been fancier, but we only have so much material on the ship.” Zuko said as he watched me dance around with the dress. I looked up at him in bewilderment, “Like it? Zuko I love it! This is beautiful; it’s like it was made for me!” I gushed.
Zuko laughed before finally placing a hand on my waist to stop me from dancing around in glee, “It was made for you. I wanted something that represented you: beautiful, simple, and pure.” He said as he gazed into my eyes. I smiled softly back at him and shamefully stared at him with admiration. He was perfect, how did I get so lucky? I pushed the dress against my chest as I struggled to formulate any words that could begin explaining how thankful I was for this dress, “Thank you Zuko, I-” but before I could finish Zuko pressed his lips against mine, and I gasped.
It was such a sweet and gentle kiss, as his hands gently cupped my face. I closed my eyes and let myself give in, enjoying his affection. There was just something about his kisses, that had me go weak in the knees and craving more. But it was more than just his kisses; it was just everything he did. His gentle caresses and compliments, he is too good for me. After what felt like forever, Zuko gently pulled away, his lips just grazing mine, “No, thank you.”
Tumblr media
My hands were all clammy as I nervously looked at myself in the mirror. I was all dolled up; my hair pulled into a half up and half down updo as my makeup accentuated my pouty lips and round eyes. I looked like a porcelain doll, ready for display. Lia gently placed her hands on my shoulders and began massaging them. “Relax, Kima told me you get nervous but not like this,” Lia said with a giggle.
I giggled along with her before turning around; I was thankfully for Lia. Besides Aang and Sokka who sailed with us, Lia was the only permanent member of the Fire Nation ‘crew’ that I knew well. Zuko knew this and assigned her to be my head maid, although she quickly became a friend as she reminded me much of Kima. “It’s hard not to be nervous; this is it,” I said anxiously. Lia giggled before grasping my hands, “Ying Yue, you look stunning, Fire Lord Zuko won’t be able to peel his eyes off you. So stop acting like me on my first day on the job.” Lia said teasingly.
“You were this scared on your first day?” I asked, trying to ignore the chaos happening outside of my bedroom door. I could hear maids panicking, making sure everyone was dressed and guards rushing to get into formation. That didn’t even include the cheers from outside the ship, people waiting in crowds for our arrival. It was only a matter of time they would drop the ramp, and we leave the ship and step foot in the Fire Nation “You bet. I was supposed to be a tea maid, but tell me how the head maid got sick that day, and I had to serve Fire Lord Zuko!” Lia said, laughing at herself remembering the events of that fateful day.
I looked at Lia with wide eyes hearing her story, “You served tea to Fire Lord Zuko on your first day?” I asked shocked. Lia shook her head, “And to make it worse, it was after Countess Mai entered. It was like the universe was trying to set me up for failure.” She said, but as soon as those words slipped out of her mouth, her eyes widen, realizing that she spoke too much. I took me a minute to realize she mentioned Mai, and then I put two and two together.
“I'm sorry Ying Yue, I got too comfortable and I shouldn’t have mentioned-” I smiled and stopped her mid-sentence. To be honest, I was curious. Sure, Suki told me about Mai, and based off the subtle hints Zuko gave off, Mai seemed…tough. She didn’t seem like the most approachable of people in the world, and for a minute I wondered how Zuko could date someone like that. Clearly, I was missing something, especially if after everything everyone has told me, the gang still asked about her with endearment.
“Lia, I know about Countess Mai and Fire Lord Zuko already,” I said with a soft smile. Lia let out a huff, clearly holding in her breath in fear. “I was wondering…will Countess Mai be present? You know…in the sidelines?” I asked. Lia raised a brow before resting a finger on her chin, pondering. “In theory, yes. But…” She trailed off as she hesitantly looked at me. “Fire Lord Zuko and she aren’t exactly friends.” She said carefully. I nodded my head; I was so caught up in trying to impress Zuko’s family, I completely forgot about Mai. Just as I was about to ask more a knock caught my attention.
Lia quickly stood up and opened the door, only for her to bow down and start addressing everyone formally. Aang and Sokka walked in with giant grins on their faces as they looked at me, “Wow, you look beautiful Yue.” Aang said politely. I smiled; Aang is such a gentleman. “Thank you; you look handsome Aang, and Sokka…” I trailed off as I observed their outfits. Aang sporting his famous Avatar attire while Sokka wore a Water Tribe Military outfit. “…You could have tried more.” I teased at Sokka. Sokka’s eyes widen, but he grinned nevertheless, “Hey, you should be thanking me. I purposely underdressed so I wouldn’t distract people from your man, Zuko.”
I laughed as I could hear Zuko scoff from behind them, amused at Sokka’s joke. Sokka moved aside, letting Zuko walk forward and I could feel my mouth dry up instantly seeing him. Was Zuko always this fine? My eyes widen as I realized this was the first time I have witnessed Zuko in full Fire Lord attire. His hair was adorned with the Fire Nation Emblem while he wore lavish robes decorated with gold leaf. Zuko’s outfit made everyone look like peasants; he looked so regal, almost like a painting. Zuko smirked watching me not utter a word at him, but just staring at him in awe, he was sexy, and he knew it all too well.
“Cat got your tongue?” Zuko teased out. I blushed and slowly began walking towards them. Zuko wrapped an arm around my waist, pulling me close to his side and whispering in my ear, “You look marvellous love.” Sokka rolled his eyes and already began walking out the door, “Save it for the bedroom people!” He groaned out loud. Aang laughed as he chased after Sokka and I glanced back at Lia. I giggled watching her give me a thumbs up, just like how Aang does, she is seriously just the female version of Aang.
“Are you ready?” Zuko asked, as he guided me through the door and we began walking down the corridors. I could feel my heart beat faster, and my hands feel jittery. I was so nervous it was pitiful. Not trusting my voice, I meekly nodded my head. I could see the crew up ahead, all of them standing in formation, ready to depart. Zuko began walking to the front of the line, and I was prepared to stand behind him, getting into position as my two teachers taught me ‘you must always stand behind Fire Lord Zuko, you're not his equal until marriage.’
So when Zuko suddenly gripped my arm and brought me to his side, I looked at him shocked, “What-”
“You're standing with me.” He said casually. My eyes widen, “B-but-”
“You’re my partner. You're mine, as much as I'm yours. And you deserve to stand beside me. Fuck tradition.” He grumbled, and I could see his cheeks getting rosy speaking so bluntly about his feelings. It was the first Zuko ever really acknowledged me as his equal. I was always candid with my feelings, but this was Zuko’s first time being honest with me beside the incident back at the Southern Water Tribe.
I smiled softly and linked my arm with him, sparing him from any teasing, although it was tempting. I stood proudly beside him, a new wave of confidence embracing me now that I had Zuko by my side. I could hear Sokka and Aang shuffle behind me as they murmured amongst themselves in nervous chatter.
“Fire Lord Zuko, permission to lower ramp?” A guard shouted.
I gazed up at Zuko, noticing he was looking at me as well with a giant smile on his face, “Permission granted.” I looked forward, watching the metal door slowly begin lowering. Just weeks ago it was me on the other side of that ramp, awaiting Zuko’s arrival, oh how the tables have turned. Zuko gently squeezed my hand, as if to reassure me and I let out one last shaky breath. This was it, my formal debut as the Fire Lord’s Consort; the start of something new.

MoC anon again, hi! (also, eek, sorry about those two hours you lost) i think sam’s history with anger issues is actually kinda WHY he would handle it better, because he’s been practicing controlling it his whole life. (and i think he’s a lot better at it in s11 than he was in s5, ya know?) whereas, like you said, dean builds walls to keep the bad OUT, but he tends to act on emotion a lot more than sam, and his emotions are more explosive, and a lot less regulated. 1/2
(and while dean works very hard to hide his softer emotions, he’s never been particularly bothered with showing his anger.) i just can’t picture sam losing control the same way dean did. not saying that he wouldn’t lose control at all, of course, it’s gonna be messy either way, and obviously sam is not a paragon of mental health, but he has experience controlling the “darkness” inside him in a way dean never did 2/2
Hi there! and yeah, I’m doubly sorry now that my original post was eaten because I did cover this, as well. I think you and I read Sam and Dean very, very differently. I don’t think Sam HAS had a lot of practice controlling his anger, is the thing.
Yeah, Dean has exploded in frustration and anger, but so has Sam. Because Sam kind of runs on anger (or he did, especially in earlier seasons), it feels to me like adding the mark to that would’ve been throwing gasoline on a fire. And once we saw how Amara operates, we know she used the same sort of lure on Dean that Ruby had used on Sam. Similar to Lucifer whispering to him from the cage in early s11.  Retroactively, I guess I’ve applied that same sort of enticement to how the Mark called out to Dean in s9 and s10.
Because it also didn’t come down to “control” in those moments where Dean “snapped” into murderousness. It didn’t seem to have anything to do with rage at all. He “woke up” from those acts (like the first time he held the first blade in 9.16, when he killed Abaddon in 9.21, when he killed the shapeshifter in 10.06, when he killed the group of men who’d literally had him at gunpoint and were trying to kill him in 10.10, for example), It was never framed as “Dean gives into the rage,” or “Dean fails to control his anger.” It was always framed as him being compltely taken over and basically controlled by an outside force. When Dean would fight his way back to the surface after those incidents, he was shaken and afraid by what he’d done.
Like Dean when he was struggling with Amara’s control of him in s11, we saw how insidious her influence was in his presence, but take that same capacity to influence someone and literally insert it directly into their brain. That’s the Mark. But when Dean confessed this to Sam in 11.13:
Dean: Honestly? You seriously think the sister of God is my deepest darkest desire?Sam: She isn’t?Dean: No! She can’t be!Sam: Why not?Dean: Why? Because if she is that means that I’m…Sam: Means you’re what? Complicit? Weak? Evil?Dean: For starters, yeahSam: Dean. Do you honestly think you ever had a choice in the matter? She’s the sister of God, and for some reason she picked you and that sucks, but if you think I’m gonna blame you or judge you…I’m not.Dean: You know that I want her ass deadSam: Yes. Of course. And I know you’ve also probably beaten yourself up a hundred times over it, but where has that gotten us? (Long silence) Just how bad is it?Dean: Standing here right now, every bone in my body wants to run her through. Send her back to that hole she crawled out of. But when I’m near her, I don’t know. Something happens and I can’t explain it, but to call it desire or love…it’s not that. I’m screwed man. We wanna kill the darkness. We need to kill the darkness. And I don’t think I can. I’m sorry to do that to you, ya know, but when it comes right down to it…
He’d still been working through this when he talked to Cas(ifer) about this in 11.11, but he was working his way to this exact point. It had very little to do with anger.
Sure, anger was effectively Amara’s baseline motivation for revenge against Chuck, and her tool to do that was effectively “destroy what Chuck created,” which is an effective way to act out anger, you know? But I think that anger would’ve found a far more fertile breeding ground in Sam than it did in Dean.
I mean, just think back over the last few years to the outbursts that look like anger on the surface for Dean, and honestly, they have ZERO to do with RAGE. They’re frustration, grief, defeat… like punching the sign in 13.01, like yelling about how he should’ve stayed behind in the AU if they had no way to get back there and save Mary and Jack in 13.18. The only time I felt like one of Dean’s outbursts could be described as “angry” rather than “frustrated” or “grieving” or “defeated” was in 13.03 when he yelled in Sam’s face about Cas. And there was still that well of grief there pushing him to that outburst.
Honestly, I think a fairer comparison to how they each would’ve dealt with the Mark isn’t tapping in to their emotions, but how well they compartmentalize in the face of possession. For example how long Dean casually managed to keep Michael locked in his brain fridge in s14. Michael only escaped because Dean was literally knocked unconscious. This notion that Dean lacks control of his own temper I think just seems far more pronounced in him because it’s so rare for him. It’s… not rare for Sam.
Like I said in the previous post, Sam’s rage was a major plot point for years. It fueled s4, it fueled s5, it fueled Sam’s half of the s9 and s10 story.
I think the main difference between Sam’s anger and Dean’s anger is that Sam’s tends to simmer cold, while Dean’s just boils over with heat on rare occasions, making them seem that much more out-of-character, or startling.
I don’t see it as Sam better able to control his rage than Dean, I see it as different ways of expressing said anger, because they are different people with different personalities, you know?
Sam’s just as capable of lashing out in anger as Dean, but it tends to look different when it happens. Dean just lets himself have his little outbursts before he gets to the point where he breaks from it. Sam… when Sam bursts like that, it feels more shocking, because he typically expresses his anger differently. Like when Sam punched Dean in 14.12, for example, people were SHOCKED. I read so many “wow that was out of character” posts I was honestly baffled by the fandom’s reaction to this. Because that punch was pure frustration and grief, and it’s just about the most emotion Sam’s let himself express in a long time.
I know I keep defaulting to talking about s4 and s5 here, but I’m watching 5.02 in the background while I’m typing this, so these seasons are what’s currently freshest in my mind right now.
The wraith in 5.10:
SAM: You did this to me!WRAITH: Well, I helped. But that rage? No, no, no. That’s all you. (stands, walks to the side of the bed) I don’t make crazy. I just crank up what’s already there.
The show has always, always paralleled Sam’s rage with Dean’s fear. The thing is, how they each express these underlying feelings. So, no, I really, really don’t think Sam would be better at controlling that rage under the effect of the Mark than Dean was.
and this entire post is just undercaffeinated rambling at this point, so I really don’t know what more I can say without going incident by incident through the entire series documenting the vastly different nature of Sam and Dean’s anger, and their respective outbursts. Their anger just… manifests differently, because again, they are different people with differing personalities. Sam’s anger tends to come out “cold,” and Dean’s tends to boil over more loudly. And Amara/the Mark was nothing if not cold and patient rage, you know?
Sam has traditionally gotten angry and run away, as if isolating himself from the problem could fix things. In the past, he would’ve sooner walled off the vast majority of his life to pretend at being normal that he would face it. I don’t know if I’d classify that as “having more control” of his anger. He’s just got different outlets in general than Dean does. Dean just yells, gets it out of his system, and then moves on. Sam… can’t seem to do that. Or at least he hadn’t been able to do that for the vast majority of canon.
Someone wrote an excellent piece years ago about Sam’s Rage vs Dean’s Fear, and I guess it’s stuck with me. But when a character’s primary motivation, his primary driving force through years of character development is a baseline simmering rage, I have a REALLY hard time feeling like he would’ve had more “control” over a possessing entity that literally fed on that sort of feeling.
Amara found BALANCE through her relationship with Dean. I don’t think she could’ve found that with Sam. I think that entire storyline only worked because it was Dean, and not Sam. Because Dean recognized this as something being done TO him, rather than just a manifestation of himself. (Yes, at first he thought it was a curse, and that it was his own inner “monstrousness” coming out, but it ALWAYS felt foreign to him, something he couldn’t truly identify or relate to, because it was literally not his own. And Sam would’ve had a lot more difficulty making that distinction, I think.)
As I’ve typed this up, I do realize that viewers see different things in each of these characters. We identify with them differently, based on our own experiences, and since I mostly identify with and feel like I understand Dean better than Sam, I think I’m probably looking at this from a different angle than you are. I, for example, see Sam REPEATEDLY losing his shit to his rage throughout the entire series. He gives in to it far more readily than Dean has over the years, but it tends to be less “explosive” as you said. But it motivates his entire character in ways it never, ever has for Dean. And I think Amara/the Mark would’ve eaten him alive because of it. Because she was the Mark, and she was motivated by the same cold, simmering rage.

Top 5: Movies with Swords
A Top 5 filled with adventure and swashbuckling - this list considers Movies with Swords. A few qualifications, the swords must be made of metal (thus disqualifying laser swords from a certain space opera fantasy) and must be central to the plot. Just because a movie has a scene with a sword fight doesn’t earn its place on the list; rather, the sword must be integral to the story, advance the plot, or play a role in the main character’s journey. Come with me to fantastical times and consider the best films that feature swords.
Gibelwho Productions Presents Movies with Swords:
5. The Mask of Zorro
4. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
3. The Princess Bride
2. Kill Bill: Vol. 1
Hero
The Mask of Zorro (1998): During the first training session with his adopted protege, the original Zorro, played by Anthony Hopkins, asks a scruffy Antonio Banderas who is holding a sword -  “Do you know how to use that thing?” Banderas, who is hoping to become the new Zorro, responds “The pointy end goes into the other man.” Hopkins takes a moment to internalize how far Banderas is from the swashbuckling hero with the famed prowess for fencing; indeed, the young Banderas’ showy swinging of the sword is easily lobbed away by one swift stroke of Hopkins steady and controlled blade. Luckily a few training sequences transforms Banderas into a Zorro reborn, and when Banderas emerges in the full Zorro regalia, fighting his enemies with the true form of a warrior, we are ready to exult in his fencing skills. While the fight between Banderas and Catherine Zeta Jones doesn't hold up through today’s lens of gender dynamics, the overall comedy, drama, and athleticism of the action scenes all featuring sword choreography is pure fun to watch.
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003): The film’s hero Will Turner is an aspiring blacksmith with a talent for making exceptionally crafted swords and the knowledge of how to use them. The opening action sequence features Orlando Bloom’s Turner and Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow sparring in the blacksmith’s workspace - a converted barn with streaks of light illuminating the open space. The sequence opens with Sparrow threatening Turner with his trusty sword, only to have the aspiring blacksmith grab one of his completed swords to parry back. They cross blades, the music matching punctuating beats with sword clashes, and Sparrow begins to analyze the form and footwork of his opponent; Turner then displays his true abilities by throwing his sword accurately and with enough strength to lock the poor Captain inside the barn. The rest of the fight features clever stunts and humorous blocking, with each party grabbing from the voluminous store of swords to spar back and forth. The fight culminates when Captain Jack Sparrow pulls out a pistol to match Turner’s sword, leading to the blacksmith’s protest of “you cheated!” to which Sparrow reminds him - “Pirate.”
The Princess Bride (1987): Not including this classic on the list?! Inconceivable! Although this film benefits from a dose of nostalgia, it truly has one of the best sword fight scenes in the history of cinema, the sparring between Mandy Patinkin and Cary Elwes. There is no villain in the scene and the viewer’s loyalties are divided between both parties; to the untrained eye, the actors are doing great work, good form and footwork, and the banter between the two men brings a levity to the fight. Elwes, with his calm and confident form, matches Patinkin’s boyish flair; and they fight with both hands, starting off left-handed and then swapping to their right - just fun and delightful! Elwes’ final sword fight is won via a battle of words, followed by a threatening pose with his sword drawn, just enough strength left before he collapses after the villain has been restrained. Patinkin, however, does finally get his revenge with the fight that made the phrase famous - “Hello. My name is Inego Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.”
Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003): In college I went to a double screening of Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 - shown as Quentin Tarantino intended in one installment. My inclination at the time was a preference for the second film; the first volume focused more on the action and fighting set pieces and less on the narrative, while the second gave more insight into the Bride’s character and motivations. For this list, however, the first film fits the...bill. The Bride travels to Japan to convince a retired master swordsmith to forge one more weapon so she can extract her revenge on Bill and Tarantino spends an entire scene where the master lovingly presents his work of deadly art to the Bride. She then takes his masterpiece to fight an elite group of fighters known as the Crazy 88 in an outrageous and fantastic fight scene. Uma Thurman, clad in her famous yellow tracksuit, methodically takes out various groups of fighters and Tarantino employs different cinematic techniques to highlight the different groups, including in black and white, as silhouette against a blue background, wire work fighting on a bannister, and an epic final battle in the snow. In each segment, Tarantino focuses on the sword as a beloved weapon, having his fighters pose menacingly with swords drawn, closeups framing their face next to a raised hilt. While it would actually be impossible for one woman with a single blade to defeat the overwhelming numbers of the clan, Tarantino puts in enough quick cuts, whip and clang sound effects, wildly spurting blood makeup, and shots of Uma swinging her sword dramatically to give the scene thrills. Tarantino’s reverence for the Japanese sword and Uma’s convincing pose while wielding her Hattori Hanzo ranks this flick so high on the list.
Hero (2002): This tale, fashioned in the style of Rashomon, is framed around an assassin who has infiltrated the king’s palace with intent to kill, but who has a conversation with the man first, almost as a form of psychological warfare. The stories they tell are used as set pieces for the sword fighting that is highlighted in the film and each scene is a creative masterpiece in filmmaking - combining choreography, set design, costumes, editing, and color pallet to achieve striking sequences. There are too many incredible segments to highlight here, (each scene deserves individual analysis), but let us choose just one to discuss. In a flashback sequence, two assassins are shown fighting their way into the guarded palace, their intensity just plowing down the opposing army, swinging their swords with swift and relentless fury; they are clad in green robes that are in stark contrast to the black and white uniforms of the mass guards they are pushing through. When one assassin reaches the interior palace, bedecked with flowing green decorative fabric, and faces the king himself in combat, the intricate choreography begins. Each set piece is unique, but all employ the use of wire work, enabling the actors to soar, spin, and strike while in motion through the air, almost like a deadly dance. The flowing robes also add a lyrical quality to the fighting, yet there is a relentless ferocity that shows the actor’s skill in actual combat, proven by the use of long takes that pause long enough for the view to actually absorb the intense moves. As much as there are dreamlike sequences with fantastical movements, there are also really intentional clashes of blades that convey the weight and intensity of the combatants. In the end, the calligraphy of the character for the word ‘sword’ sparks the king’s final poetic speech that appeals to the assassins true understanding of an ideal warrior - which is the desire to not kill. The assassin makes his final choice and, with a shot of his sword clanging to the floor, paves the way for a united China.
Honorable Mentions:
Hook (1991): An extension of the Peter Pan story, this film tells the tale of a Peter who has grown up and forgotten his past self, who must re-discover his inner child and save his own kids from the nefarious Captain Hook. When a reluctant Peter has returned to Neverland and incites an imaginary food fight, he finally reclaims the mantle of Peter Pan when one of the Lost Boys presents him his old sword - lifting it up into the air in triumph cements his transformation back to his true self. He then takes that sword and rallies the Lost Boys to fight the pirates and rescue his children, going sword to hook with the Captain himself.
Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993): Another Mel Brooks classic starring Cary Elwes, this time as Robin Hood in a parody of the gang in Sherwood Forest. The ultimate fight between the Sheriff of Rottingham and Robin of Loxley is high in a tower in front of the locked up (in more ways than one) Maid Marian - and the fight is a microcosm of this roaring flick - the Sheriff is outrageously evil, Robin engages in cool banter delivered with witty charm, and Marion is over the top with her nasally simpering.  Another highlight of the fight is Robin’s blind companion Blinkin having a daring sword fight with a statue. Also, Patrick Stewart makes an appearance at the end as King John, with the full knight regalia that includes an awesome broad sword that he uses to bestow the Knighthood upon Robin of Loxley!
Mulan (1998): The Disney telling of the Chinese tale of a woman taking the place of her father in the army to fight the Huns was always a favorite of mine. As a child of the Nineties, it reinforced the girl power message, had awesome music, and great action. The sword plays a pivotal role at the beginning of the movie, symbolizing Mulan’s decision to abandon her traditional role in the family, save her father, and begin her journey to discover her true self. In the middle of a stormy night, Mulan draws her father’s sword, a determined face reflected in the steel, and cuts cleanly through her long hair to begin her transformation. It is a powerful moment of sacrifice for her family, as well as slicing off her old identity, one that didn’t quite fit her perfectly, and she leaves in the night to protect her family and China.
The Three Musketeers (1993): Another Disney film on the list, this time a live action adaptation of Alexander Dumas’ famous novel, one that prioritizes campy dialogue, fun action sequences, and power ballads over substance. But dang, when all four (spoiler alert) of those Musketeers are facing a collection of opponents, with their fancy blue cloaks and drawing their swords in unison, it’s just so fun! The swords here are some of most beautifully designed, with elaborate silver hilts that come with the prestige of the position being in the king’s guard. There is plenty of fencing in the film, among the musketeers themselves, between the evil cardinal’s guard, and the villainous Rochefort - and the climax of the film finds just the valiant three Musketeers facing a cadre of red clocked villains, when their fellow Musketeers, who had been disbanded by the evil cardinal, reveal themselves to stand aside them in battle. When in victory, the men hold their swords high, crossed together to show their unity (while the power ballad soars) - All for One and One for All!
Upcoming
Mulan (2020): Disney has been getting around to re-making all of their animated classics, with Mulan next up on the list. This re-make, however, is not solely based on the film from the late Nineties, although one can hear melodies from the score in the new film’s trailer, but the filmmakers have gone back to the original epic poem that inspired the animated tale. While that means an excise of Mushu (most likely for the better), it may also mean more of a focus on Fa Mulan’s journey and her fighting prowess. In the trailer, the Huns are seen galloping toward a town, doublefisting a sword and a curved scythe in their hands, overwhelmingly a dangerous threat. To face the enemy, China puts forth a call for warriors from each family, but Mulan’s family has only daughters to offer; their father takes up his sword, but knows he is incapable of carrying out his duty. Late at night, Mulan takes down the same sword, emblazoned with the characters for loyal, brave and true, and shows some skill with the blade as she makes her choice. It seems that in both the animated film and this live action re-telling, the sword plays a crucial role in Mulan’s decision to fight for her family in her father’s place. The trailer does show some glimpses of action sequences, with the sword as Mulan’s weapon of choice. Although with the release date now delayed by the spreading coronavirus, I am excited to see this film’s modern portrayal of Mulan taking up her true power and identify, with her steel by her side.

BATIM D&D Party
I wanted to write out backstories for the BATIM characters in a D&D world, so here we go. These are very much my versions of the characters, as well as some of my oc’s.
I also kind of made a story out of it.
I used this to help me decide everyone’s classes upon first thinking about this, but this is also very helpful.
Thank you to @randomwriteronline and @chaostheparrot for their input and help in ironing out what classes would fit each character.
I especially loved Random’s comment that the Music Department would be, and I quote, “just increasingly off the shit bards”.
-------------------------------------------------------
Timeline:
Joey and Henry meet up and decide to adventure together.
Original party is formed: Joey, Henry, Norman, Wally, and the bard band
Henry and Joey get into a fight and Henry leaves the party
Shawn and Grant are inducted into the party
Joey’s party passes through Cordelia’s town and she joins as they are in need of a healer
Asmodeus reaches out to Joey and becomes Joey’s patron
Tom and Allison are brought on. Joey explains that they need another healer and Tom has some experience with magical artifacts. He refuses to explain what sort of magical artifacts he wants Tom for
Joey approaches Bertram to make an artifact for him which leads to Bertram and Lacie traveling with the party in order to gather the materials for the artifact
Joey leads the party to defeat a necromancer holed up in a castle, and takes up residence there once the necromancer is defeated.
Joey starts conducting immoral experiments, occasionally kidnapping residents from the nearby town
Joey turns his attentions to his party members, beginning to experiment on them
Henry gets a letter, inviting him to the castle. Joey has something to show him...
Now on to the backstories.
Sammy, Susie, and Jack are all bards who have been friends since childhood. Johnny is Sammy’s younger brother and also a bard. They each have their own reasons for wanting to go out adventuring. Sammy because he wanted to spread his music, Susie because she wanted to see the world and sing for people, Johnny because he was not about to let Sammy see the world without him, and Jack basically because he wanted to be around his friends. They’ve formed a band of sorts. Sammy plays banjo (although he can play nearly any instrument), Jack’s on violin, Johnny basically plays a keyboard, and Susie sings. They’ve been run out of a few towns due to Susie and Sammy’s strong personalities. Sammy gets into fights with people about music and Susie squares up when her friends are threatened. Although there was one time someone broke Jack’s violin and he did a number on them.
Sammy and Susie will flirt with anyone and everyone. They are disaster bisexuals. Favorite targets are Norman, Tom, and Allison. Sometimes Wally, although that’s mostly Sammy. Meanwhile, Jack has kind of a thing for Grant. And sometimes Sammy. He’s a quiet and distinguished gay. Johnny falls in love very easily and it’s hard to get him to move on from them. He had a crush on Susie when they were all little and Sammy continues to tease him about it. Susie thought it was cute.
Joey: Warlock. His patron is Asmodeus, the Lord of Hells. Growing up, Joey dreamed of adventuring. His parents strongly discouraged this, knowing the dangers that came along with adventuring. They didn’t want him to get hurt. Joey, however, took this to mean that they thought he was too weak to make it in the world. It didn’t help that a lot of the other children liked to pick on him due to his small stature and sickly nature. He threw himself into studying magic, being too weak to class as anything particularly physical. His success was rather...mixed. He was alright at magic, but nowhere near as powerful as he’d hoped.
He ran away from home at around 18 in order to adventure and find a way to boost his magical power. He ended up in Henry’s town and the two became friends. Joey suggested they go adventuring together and Henry agreed. The two set off on their adventure when they were in their 20′s, forming a party with Norman, Wally, and the bard band. Joey's search for power was temporarily forgotten as he reveled in the joy of adventuring with his friends. However, tensions began to run a bit high between him and Henry, who thought Joey was being greedy and pushing the party members farther than they were capable of going. The two of them fought and Henry left the party.
Joey was convinced he could make it without Henry, bolstering the ranks of the party and continuing to press on as though nothing was wrong. However, this was the beginning of his spiral downwards. He began to throw himself even more into trying to bolster his magic. He started dragging his party into even more dangerous situations in order to find a way to make himself more powerful.
It was at this point that Asmodeus reached out to him. He appeared as a handsome red-skinned young man and promising he could give Joey everything he desired. Joey took his offer, becoming a rather powerful warlock.
For a bit, things were alright. Joey was happy with his newfound power. He had to perform sacrifices to Asmodeus, which was a little inconvenient given his party’s moral compass, but the party was already killing evildoers. Asmodeus seemed perfectly satisfied with these sorts of sacrifices, though.
But soon...Joey began to wonder. Why did they have to rely on gods for magical power? Why couldn’t they just have it themselves? He’d seen many a warlock fall due to losing the favor of their patron. It was incredibly dangerous to rely on these gods for power when their favor could so easily be lost. If he could find a way to allow humans to have godly powers without the contract, then he could prevent others from falling. And so, unbeknownst to his party, he began to look into magical artifacts and rituals.
Norman: Ranger. No one knows what his background is and he refuses to give a straight answer as to what it is. His story changes every time he’s asked. In reality, he was part of a rebellion against the tyrannical ruler of his town. The rebellion failed, unfortunately, and in retaliation, the ruler killed those who had taken part in it. Norman managed to escape, but his family and many of his friends died. He doesn’t like to talk about it. Sammy, Susie, Wally, and Tom are some of the only people he’s told the truth to. Prior to joining up with this party, he tried not to stay in any place for too long for fear of being recognized and turned over to the ruler. Initially, he wanted revenge against the man who killed the people he loved. He plotted out exactly how he would do it, fantasized about sticking the bastard’s head on a pike. But he’s been running for a long time. And that fire has long since been extinguished. Now he just wants to be free from that looming shadow.
Henry: Monk. He never really planned on being an adventurer. He grew up in a small village that was pretty far away from any kind of danger. His parents ran a bookstore. He didn’t have any siblings. He had a pretty boring life. He met Joey after Joey ran away from home and ended up in Henry’s town. When Joey suggested they start adventuring together, he was excited. He’d never left his town before. So he left with Joey and the two of them began adventuring together with their party. Things were good for a while until Henry and Joey began to butt heads about Joey’s leadership of the group. Henry ended up leaving over this argument. Angry and upset, Henry went away to train at a monastery. It was during this training that he met Linda, who was passing through on her own errands. The two of them adventured for a bit after Henry completed his training before settling down together.
Linda: Cleric. A follower of the Lliira. She came from a long line of healers, and while she wasn’t expected to follow in their footsteps, it was highly encouraged. Luckily, she was interested in helping people. She chose Lliira as her patron as she had little interest in fighting or continuing the cycle of violence in their world. Once she’d reached the appropriate age, and had trained sufficiently with her family, she set off on a journey to bring healing and joy to all she could. She met Henry when she stopped off at the monastery he was training at during her travels. She thought he was rather adorable, especially since he tended to accidentally hit himself in the face with his staff whenever she watching him practice. She was more than happy to journey with and later marry him.
Henry works as a historian/librarian in their town while Linda is the local healer. A not-insignificant portion of the town has crushes on both of them. They’re both very kind and compassionate and surprisingly buff. Linda may be a pacifist, but she chops their firewood herself.
Tom: Fighter who dual classes as an artificer. He’s made a bit of a name for himself as an artificer, but more often he’s just called upon to fix things. He grew up in an orphanage as his parents were killed in a monster attack. He made himself indispensable to the orphanage staff by being the best at fixing things. He taught himself to fix just about everything. Chairs, plumbing, wagons, weapons. You name it, he figured out how to fix it. Once he got older, the orphanage directors apprenticed him to a blacksmith. Tom tried to find fulfillment in it but couldn’t. He ended up training himself as a fighter, while beginning to hone his craft as an artificer, and set off wandering. He found Allison when she’d gotten herself into a fight she wasn’t prepared for and helped her get out. He thought she was a nice woman and decided to travel with her. She gave people hope and he wanted to be a part of that.
Allison: Paladin. A follower of the goddess Istus. Her family are nobles and frankly bastards. She ran away from home at a young age to join a convent. However, during her journey to the convent, she saw the injustices of the world. So, instead of going to the convent, she went to join a paladin order. The paladins were initially a little unsure about whether to take her on, especially since she was the daughter of a noble and they didn’t want to have her father storming their building demanding her back, but she proved she was serious about the situation. After she completed her training, she set out to help those in need. She met Tom after stumbling into a fight she wasn’t prepared for. The two started traveling together after that. She believes that there is always hope, no matter how many times she is knocked down. There are many who take comfort in her unshakable faith.
Shawn: Rogue. He grew up in the slums of a major city, learning how to pickpocket and swindle in order to provide for his family. His mother constantly told him that there were other ways for them to get by, but no matter how many jobs she or his siblings picked up, they never had enough. Shawn saw stealing from the rich as the only viable option. It wasn’t like taking from the ultra-rich of the city would hurt them, he thought. And it didn’t. They just threw huge fits before eventually moving on. He earned a bit of a reputation among the city guards as a troublemaker. Shawn started having a bit of fun messing with them, which led to guards to target his family. He ended up leaving the city in hopes that it would improve his family’s lives if he wasn’t there. He began to travel, becoming a Robin Hood-esque figure. The poor lauded him as a hero while the rich saw him only as a villain. Joey found him in a holding cell after getting caught stealing from a corrupt baron. He continues to send money to his family even now, hoping that he can still try and make up for the mistakes he’s made.
Bertram: Artificer. Born to a well to do family, Bertram was never particularly interested in adventuring. He was, however, very interested in inventing and figuring out how to imbue magic into the things he created. He ended up becoming a rather successful and sought after artificer due to his uncanny knack for figuring out how things worked and how they could be improved. He began traveling in order to expand his business, which is why he hired Lacie. He needed a bodyguard and she wanted to travel. He ended up encountering Joey when Joey approached him to design an artifact for him. Bertram didn’t particularly trust him, but business was business so he agreed to do what he could for Joey.
Lacie: Monk. Kind of like an older, more tired version of Beau from Critical Role. Her family were wealthy and wanted a son, but they got Lacie instead. They tried to force her to be the ‘perfect’ daughter which led to her rebelling quite a lot. She ended up running away to join a monastery. The monks helped her to deal with the anger and frustration she felt, teaching how to channel it into more productive avenues. She stayed at the monastery for many years, gaining a reputation as a competent fighter and a general pillar of common sense, until she was approached by Bertram to be his bodyguard. She’s been traveling with him ever since. She tries not to pick fights, but she will absolutely finish any ones started by other people.
Grant: Wizard. From a young age, Grant had an insatiable desire for knowledge. It was this desire that led him to begin to study magic. His family didn’t have much but wanted to send him off to a magic academy so that he would be able to study magic. Thankfully, a magic academy did take notice of his aptitude and sent him a letter. Although Grant excelled at his magical studies, he proved too anxious to function as a power player. He had no interest in playing mind games or working in a court. He was better suited to academia, and so became a professor and scholar after graduation. Grant was more than happy teaching others magic and often regrets leaving his position at the school to travel with Joey, especially since Joey doesn’t exactly treat him well. Joey wanted Grant for his vast knowledge and tactical mind, often treating him as nothing more than a walking encyclopedia.
Wally: Druid. A follower of the goddess Eldath. He grew up in kind of a hippie commune. He has a really big family and the kids were basically allowed to run free in the forest and do whatever they wanted. He was happy in the commune, but he always kind of wanted to see the world. Plus, he felt a bit bad that he wasn’t as good of a druid as the rest of his family. He just didn’t take it as seriously as others did. He left the commune when he was about 16 and started just roaming around. He ran into Joey and Henry and joined their party because they thought he was absolutely adorable and just a little ray of sunshine. He’s not much of a combatant, because Eldath abhorres violence and won’t fight even to defend herself. The few times he’s tried to fight he’s lost his powers from her. It was easy enough for Joey to take him down in the end. Wally would never hurt a friend.
Cordelia: Cleric. Follower of the goddess Hel. Despite Hel’s less than savory reputation, Cordelia follows her because it gives her comfort to think there is someone looking out for her parents, both of whom died from sickness. Had a rather sheltered upbringing in a small village where nothing much happened. Roy left for adventure when she was about 15. He returned when she was 17, carried back catatonic by a few paladins. She volunteered to take care of him since both of their parents needed to work. This is how she started learning how to be a cleric in the first place. She was 18 when Joey’s party rolled into town, making her want to go adventuring like her brother had. She specifically latched onto the bard band, wanting to be just like them. Maybe even travel with them. Her parents were averse to the idea, especially after what had happened to Roy, but they didn’t want to quash her dreams. They died later that year from a sickness she could neither treat nor cure. She was devastated, shutting herself in her room for days on end. But, upon Roy’s suggestion, the next time Joey’s party came around she left with them.
Roy: Former bard. Formerly a rather successful bard before an adventuring mishap put him out of commission. He got bored in their little village and set off for a life of adventure. Although he couldn’t play music too well, nor sing, he had a charismatic presence that drew people to him. He was part of a rather large adventuring group filled with similarly eager young adventurers. They were all predictably naive and foolhardy, rushing headlong into danger and getting into their fair share of scrapes and danger. One day, they ended up going on a quest that they couldn’t handle. Roy was the only one who survived. He was found, catatonic, by some wandering paladins who managed to get him home. He didn’t say anything for years until his and Cordelia’s parents died and he forced himself to step up and be there for Cordelia. He was the one to suggest she become an adventurer. Despite his own misgivings toward that career, he thought it would do her good to get away from their town and the memory fo their parents.
Esther: Paladin. Follower of the god Tyr. Although she’s not an adventurer, she still takes her job very seriously. She wants to protect those who cannot protect themselves. She became a paladin after Joey ran away. Specifically, she went on a journey to try and find her brother again. Along the way, she witnessed the injustice and cruelty of the world. It horrified her to see the way people treated each other and the abuses that people got away with. When she returned, not having found her brother, she went through paladin training and became the protector of her town. She later met the man who would become her husband, Robert, when he was passing through the town as a traveling bookseller. The two struck up a friendship, which later turned into a relationship.

Arc-V’s subtle lesson, who can be redeemed.
I think one thing that is overlooked in the lessons Arc-V gives is the question who can be redeemed. Of course since Arc-V is a Yu-Gi-Oh! show, redemptions are common but I think it’s interesting to note that unlike other Yu-Gi-Oh! shows that kinda redeem everyone as long as they’re aren’t the big bad, Arc-V states people can be redeemed if they don’t know any better or they want to be redeemed.
1. They’re aren’t evil/they can be better
I know this sounds very very obvious BUT the idea here is that there are people that do horrible actions but they have reasons for their actions and can be redeemed. Examples include Shinji, Kaito, Sora and Leo. The thing that ties these four together is they all have done or at least intended for horrible things for a just goal but are too stubborn to be just talked out of at first. Shinji has suffered a lifetime of discrimination and mockery so it makes sense he wants to fix the City, Kaito has spent a year facing an invasion by people that treat the carding of his people as a sick game and recently lost his family thus explaining his bitter attitude and desire for revenge, Sora was raised by the Academia that all his vicious actions will create an utopia where all can live and Leo is driven by guilt to save his daughter, fix his dimension and kill the person responsible for all of this. The other thing that ties the four of them is the start of their change to good is off-screen and is a realization that changes their perception.
All Shinji wants is to fix the City so Commons like him can have a better life but due to his life, Shinji is both filled with hate towards the Tops and is just too cynical to believe in an idealist solution like the one Yuya suggested in their duel. Thus why he goes against Crow when Crow suggested working with the Tops because he believes the Tops would never gave up their power thus the only way to get the freedom they deserve is to riot. The reason Shinji turns to good is because Yuya was already fulfilling his desire. Shinji only calms down when Yuya makes a point of repeating Shinji’s ideals, he has Jack on the ropes AND the City is uniting. Yuya is proving not only is his idealistic plan possible, it was working right in front of Shinji’s eyes. Shinji has no reason still be antagonistic because he’s getting what he wants, a better City thus he becomes Yuya’s ally again.
Kaito not only hates the Academia due to their actions but he’s scared. He’s scared of being hurt again thus he isolates himself in his hate so he never feels pain again. He sees people from the other dimensions as enemies and refuses to work with his friends again out of fear of the pain it would cause if they were carded. The thing that really sets Kaito off is when he was about to card Shun while Sayaka was crying. In that moment Kaito couldn’t do it because he realized what he was doing. He wasn’t avenging his family or dimension, he wasn’t even fighting people from other dimensions. In that moment all Kaito was doing was carding someone from the Xyz dimension as someone was crying. Kaito realized that in his hate and isolation, he very nearly became EXACTLY what the Academia was and took time to realize he was changing into something he didn’t want to be. Thus why he saved Yuya by using an Action Card, he wanted to change to be better. Thus why he became Yuya’s ally.
Sora was indoctrinated from a young age to believe that Academia’s goal was just and even if he carded some people, they weren’t from his dimension so they weren’t as important. Deep down Sora realized the Academia was cruel, ruthless and just not a fun place to be but because of how he was raised, he never questioned it and just followed his mission for the good of the Academia. But his redemption arc started when he was finally hit with conflict of interest. He had to kidnapped one of his first friends, Yuzu for the Academia. Finally forcing Sora to think about the Academia and it’s goals thus realizing all the issues he always had with the organization but repressed. After a lot of soul searching, he realized he was much happier being Yuzu and Yuya’s friend and thus joined them.
Leo always had issues of not considering opinions that didn’t align with his but the destruction of the Original Dimension just made it worse. Now his home was replaced by fakes, his daughter split into four and worse he now had a story that no one sane would ever believe. Leo did everything out of the misguided belief that he would fix his dimension, get his daughter back and kill the monster that started all of this. The issue is he was blinded by his bias and didn’t realize the Four Dimensions were filled with real people, the Dragon Boys and Bracelet Girls weren’t just parts of Zarc and Ray but their own people. But he was forced to see when Yuzu and Yuya were able to overpower Ray and Zarc. If Yuzu and Yuya were just parts of Ray and Zarc, they would never be able to take control but they did. Thus Leo had to realize Yuzu and Yuya were their own people and not just shadows of their original, making him realize the same for the other counterparts. Thus when he reappears late in the show, he realizes his mistakes because he saw it first hand.
2. They were indoctinatorated/they don’t know better
Another reason why people can be redeemed is that they were raised incorrectly which can be applied to the Academia and City as whole and Yuri in particular. Both the people in the Academia and City aren’t evil per say even if their actions are deplorable. But they were just raised that way. Asuka shows no matter how moral you are as a person, you are influenced by your environment. None of the children in the Academia are 100% evil they were raised that way because they were never taught better. It’s the same for the City, they believe in competition above all else because they were raised that was the only way to live. They were able to change because Yuya was able to show them a better way and the accepted it because they realized they enjoyed that way more.
Yuri is a special compared to the rest of the Academia as beside being raised by the Academia’s ideals, his own special birth as a fourth of Zarc meant Zarc’s influenced him than his counterparts. Adding to Leo’s encouraging him to listen to his darker instincts, Yuri was corrupted to listen to his darker side as it let him have fun and gave him the attention he wanted. Thus when Zarc’s influence was taken away, he no longer desired to be as evil because he no longer had those desires and as part of Yuya, he was no longer lonely ever again.
3. They want to be better
I think the third factor that allows redemption is these people realize they’re wrong and want to change like Chojiro, BB and Zarc.
Chojiro was an entertainment duelist that wanted to lessen the gap between the Commons and Tops and tried to do that through dueling. But his attempt to do so only furthered proved the gap and he was forced to cheat. He grew to hate entertainment and enjoyment after he failed to unite the Tops and Commons and was made a laughing stock. Due to his failure and misery he abandoned his ideals and even goes by Autumn Rain Chojiro, but it’s very obvious he’s miserable. He spends pretty much all of episodes 60 and 61 on edge and frowning. But the second Yuya forces him to draw for real after years of not drawing or setting up his draw, he’s forced to do the thing that he loved again. And he loves it because deep down Chojiro never truly hated entertainment, he was just too hurt to have the courage to try again. Thus Yuya forcing him to draw made him relive all the positive feelings that he locked away and he happily and almost instantly turned back to Enjoy Chojiro.
BB is one of the rare Academia students that never bought into Academia’s propaganda and instead never wanted to fight or hurt anyone but did so out of fear for his survival. He locked away his true peaceful self to scare his opponents and ensure that no one could hurt him by defeating them instead. He dueled for survival and thus Yuya could reach him. Yuya’s duel finally gave BB a choice in his life and a way out of the fear that made up his life. Thus BB changed because he was finally allowed to not hurt people anymore.
Zarc wanted to make everyone happy but due to his weak will, he went with the audience’s desire for violence despite it going against his desires. This eventually made him grow bitter as he kept hurting monsters, duelists while the audience loved it and he grew to enjoy the violence as well. He finally turned against humanity when they gave him permission to do so thus becoming the very opposite of what he wanted, a monster that made people cry. But despite his own disdain for his former dream, he still cling to it and said ideal was reborn as Yuya. Zarc was able to be redeemed by Yuya because deep down Zarc knew he was wrong but refused to admit it. Deep down Zarc still wanted to be an entertainer but didn’t believe it was possible. It was through Yuya’s efforts that he calmed down and since Yuya is Zarc that means no matter what Zarc always wanted to do good again.
BUT Arc-V also has villains that were never redeemed such as Roger, Sergey, Sanders and the Doktor. They are all different but the uniting theme is they refuse to change.
Roger is just a sociopath that hated that were people above him and desired power above all else. He refuses to believe he could make a mistake and thus when his plans do crumble around him, he refuses to admit his failures thus preventing him from changing
Sergey is psycho with his own twisted ideals and morals. Finally beauty in destruction and willpower thus unable to change as the City finds Sergey’s actions disgusting and disturbing. Sergey can never change as his ideals are naturally twisted unlike the City’s whose ideals are twisted by their environment.
Sanders is twisted man the believes in the Academia’s ideals fully. But as an adult he wasn’t indoctrinated like the students but instead believes in them wholeheartedly. Also as an adult, he is unlikely to change thus he stays evil while his students change because of Yuya’s duel.
The Doktor only cares about advancing Real Solid Vision research and thus will never stop. Anytime he is defeated, he sees it as another chance to learn and thus will never be discourage and because he has no morals, the Doktor can never change.
I believe Arc-V shows that no one is 100% evil but that truly allows people to be better is a desire to be better or at least a willingness to listen to others as these four villains refused to change no matter what thus they were never redeemed in anyway.

Desire
Game used: Diabolik Lovers What kind of story is this? It’s a One shot/Smut Characters: Ayato x Reader Point of view: Second person Rating: NSFW  Lenght: 2,600 words.
Warning: Contains female dominance, abuse & non-consent. ——————————————————————————
A mixed feeling of excitement and fear rushed through your body as you fastened the cold handcuffs on Ayato’s even colder wrists. His chest slowly heaved up and down in his sleep. If not for that he would have seemed dead.     One wrong movement now and it would all be over. You could only hope he wouldn’t be strong enough to break free on his own. Because struggling he would.
Four years in a relationship with the vampire and you still couldn’t get your way with him. No, Ayato always had to be in control. The only times he let you be on top was when he so desired and after finding out it did not — as he hoped — embarrass you, he quickly lost interest in it at all. He much rather had you squirming beneath him, getting embarrassed at all the lewd things he inflicted upon you.      But not today. Today would be your day. The day of your desires.     You brought it up once — your desire to handcuff him —  but he wanted none of it. No, there was no way the vampire would simply submit to anyone. Only he would be in control. He’d have it no other way.     He’d never admit it to you out loud, but deep down you knew giving up control scared him. He couldn’t help it. Even if the two of you were lovers he would never be able to trust you to this extent.      You knew that. You knew. But still…     It was impossible to ignore that his rejection of your idea was a disappointment to you. You wanted this to happen. You craved it.     Which is why it was so difficult for you to let this opportunity pass by. When you saw him peacefully sleeping like that, and so unlike him not noticing your presence at all, you had to act. It was now or never.     And so you ended up here, with Ayato still peacefully sleeping beneath you like a living, breathing, doll — his hands handcuffed to the bed. By far the sexiest view you’ve seen recently. Just thinking about his possible reaction upon waking up got you so excited. The feeling of suspense and rapturous joy rushing through your body was perfect. It made you feel so… lewd.
The vampire beneath you started to move a little, his breathing changed as if close to waking up. The mere thought of him opening his eyes both send a shiver down your spine and made you feel ecstatic. You couldn’t wait for him to wake up and realise the situation he was in, as well as you were scared for the reaction he would have.     A mere second passed before his eyes flew open — looking at you with a hint of confusion mixed with panic.     “What the!? Oi, what is this about!?” he shouted, looking up at his tied wrists.     Luckily you were smart enough to have tied his ankles as well, avoiding the option of him kicking you away. He was completely and utterly defenceless in this state. Just how you liked it.     “It is just a little surprise.”     You smiled as you straddled him, your left hand already touching his stomach.     “Stop fucking with me. Untie me!”     “The fucking hasn’t even started yet,” you said with a playful tone in your voice.     For only a second he stared at you in disbelief, but then he started struggling as if his life depended on it, although it was nothing but a wasted effort.     “How low of you to do this while I’m asleep. Your punishment will be bad. Bad, I tell you,” he threatened.     “Only if you manage to break free.”     “Don’t fucking try me,” he said, pulling on the chains harder than before.     The rattling sound made you pause in fear. For a second you were afraid they might break under that amount of force– but they didn’t.     “Hmmm, I wonder what I shall do to you today? Such a rare opportunity cannot go to waste, after all.”     You wanted Ayato to fear it a little. You wanted him to think about all the possible scenario’s — his mind going crazy with worry, if only for a little bit.     “How about you untie me.”     “Sorry, I’m afraid that’s not an option. Hmmm,”  you pretended to be in thought, “perhaps I should tease you a little.”     Ayato gritted his teeth, his glare piercing right through you. It would have scared the shit out of you if only he wasn’t tied up right now.     Truth be told you were already scared for what might happen in the future. You knew that once he’d get his hands on you you’d be screwed, and not the good kind. But right now was not the time to show fear. Right now was the time to let your dominant side go wild. Especially because this would probably be your only chance.
“First let’s get rid of your shirt.”     You slowly unbuttoned the remaining buttons, admiring his chest to the fullest. His skin still felt cold, a sign he wasn’t feeling any arousal yet. You didn’t know if he’d gain some of your own warmth, or if it was his own body heating up when aroused, but whichever it was — it was always nice to know when you’d have effect on him.     “Of course you’d like to look at my naked body. You’re such a lewd woman. Going through all this trouble for a bit of view. If you want to see me with clothes off that badly, you could have said so. No need to tie me up like this,” he said, trying to make you feel embarrassed about your own desires.     “It’s not seeing you naked that I want to achieve.”     “Then what do you want?”     A good question. What exactly did you want to achieve from this? What made this so unbearably arousing for you? Perhaps it was the reversal of your roles — him being at your disposal for a chance. Perhaps it was the kick you got out of this clearly dangerous situation — no really, one would think you had a death wish. Or perhaps, maybe, it was some type of revenge for all the times he embarrassed you and forced himself upon you — because if we’re being fair… he did not always give you a choice, either.     “This is what I want. You submitting to my will for once.”     Not that his pride would allow him to be in a submissive state like this. If there was anything that Ayato would not do – it would be to submit to your will like that. He would fight it, with all his might, until he would have no other choice left. And that was exactly what you were going for, you realised.     “Never!” he shouted, moving about more aggressively. “The moment I’ll get out of this you’re dead. I’ll never forgive you!”     A chill ran down your spine at his threat. Honestly, even after four years of being together you still weren’t sure if he might kill you one day. Perhaps this time you went too far. For all one knows this time he really would. Yet, you would not stop. It was too late to stop now… this is what you wanted.     “You don’t have to,” you tried to sound confident. “I’m sure you’ll end up enjoying it as much as I will.”     “You fucking bitch,” he started yelling.     “Shh.” You put a finger to his mouth. Ayato angrily bit at it, his sharp teeth sinking into your skin. You couldn’t help but to cry out at the pain — blood dripping on Ayato’s face and down your finger as you pulled back.     “This is nothing yet,” he threatened.     Staring at his angry expression you felt yourself getting wet — he was so hot when he got angry.     For a second he seemed to calm down, staring as you sensually licked the blood off your finger. You could tell this was doing something to him; that this specific action was arousing him. He was, after all, a sucker for blood.     “Tch.”
“Now let’s get you more aroused, shall we?” you said seductively as your hand rubbed his crotch. It didn’t take long before you felt him get hard. “What is this? I thought you said you didn’t want this.”     “I don’t! Get your hands off me!”     You smiled sweetly, ignoring his demand. Taking off his pants you felt him stiffen a little — he was clearly afraid of what you were going to do. His body unready to accept your dominance. You’d tell him to relax, except you didn’t want him to.     “Look how hard you are.”     You removed his boxers.     “I’m going to fucking ki— ah!” he gasped as you wrapped your hand around his cock.     “Yes? What are you going to do?” you teased, jacking him off.     The features on his face stiffened and his breathing grew a little heavier, yet he still tried to keep a pokerface at what you were doing. He was a strong one. He would not give in this quickly.     “Kill you,” he finally managed.     You smiled, ignoring him again. As you fastened up the pace you felt his body temperature quickly rise — he was definitely very aroused right now.     Ayato tried to move away from your hand, denying himself his own pleasure, but you wouldn’t let him.     “Na ah, I am far from being done with you,” you whispered, lowering your head and wrapping your lips around his cock.     Ayato started crying out but quickly caught himself. You knew how much he liked you going down on him and you would definitely use that against him now. Before he’d know it he’d be a whimpering mess begging for more. At least, so you hoped.     “Hnm, like that?” you mumbled incoherently. He ignored you, but you just knew how much he enjoyed your skills.     Pretty soon Ayato’s protesting started dying down and small moans escaped his lips as you sucked all the right spots.     “That’s a good boy.”     “Shut up!!”     You could tell he was close to orgasming now — meaning the real game was about to start. Right before he got to the point of releasing inside your mouth you abruptly stopped all that you were doing, leaving his cock desperately wanting for more.     “Oi! What are you doing?” he asked angrily.     “Hmmm? I stopped like you wanted me to.”     “Tch.”     “What’s that? I would almost believe you were… enjoying being dominated by me.”     “As if! Never! Now untie me.”     He was clearly trying to hide his shame. Pretending he hadn’t enjoyed what you were doing to him.     “No.”     Slowly you started to stroke his cock again, paying close attention to when he was about to cum again. Then just before that happened you let go again. He’d shout at you and protest and you would start all over again, tantalising him by edging him over and over. You could tell he desperately wanted to cum. You were torturing him.     “Perhaps it is time for the next step,” you announced, undressing yourself.     Ayato couldn’t help himself but stare at how your skin got revealed bit by bit. He loved it when you stripped for him — although he loved ripping your clothes even more than that.     “What are you going to do?” he asked, calmer now.     “What do you think? I’m going to ride you, of course.”     You couldn’t help but giggle as his cock twitched at those words. “You’ve been wanting that for a while now, haven’t you?”     “I told you to fucking untie me,”  he screamed, regaining his strength. His sudden movements caught you off guard for a moment. His knee managing to bump into your side. Ouch, that hurt.     “You deserved that,” he hissed.     He was right. You did.     Finally naked you straddled him again, taking him in one hand and rubbing your, by now very wet, pussy over his shaft. Ayato grunted.     For just a moment you teased him again, rubbing on him but never letting him enter… but even you couldn’t keep up with this. This was torturing you as well.   So before long, you let him slide into you. The feeling of ultimate control made you quiver with joy. The mixed expressions of rapturous delight combined with shame on Ayato’s face almost immediately pushed you over the edge. He was feeling good, yet obviously ashamed he let this happen to himself.     You started focusing on your own pleasure, bouncing up and down on him for what felt like a good ten minutes. Being in control gave you the opportunity to choose exactly how you wanted him to enter you each time; it gave you the possibility of rubbing on all your good spots. Your moans getting lost with his.     Suddenly you felt your pussy tightening and Ayato was showing signs of almost finishing inside you as well. You got off him as fast as you possibly could — his semen now spurting all over your boobs and your stomach.     “Good boy,” you said again.     “Fuck you.”     “Again? Sorry, I need a break,” you teased.      Ayato gritted his teeth. “You got what you wanted now right? Let. Me. Go.”     He was right. You got what you wanted. But was letting go of him really the smartest thing to do right now…?      For a moment longer, you stared at the expressions on his face. While it was clear that he was satisfied, you were sure he hated you a little now. Oh, god. What did you do?     Now that your arousal had died down the realisation of your actions were finally daunting on you. You had to let him go right this instant!
“I’m sorry,” you whispered, quickly releasing his ankles. You half expected him to kick you the moment he got free, but he stayed eerily calm.     Your hands started to tremble a little as you removed his handcuffs as well. There were dark spots on his skin, even blood at some parts — the proof of how hard he had struggled to get free. You hadn’t meant to do this. To… hurt him like this.     But he always did this to you, didn’t he?
The exact second his other hand got free he pushed you into the bed with such a force that all the air got squeezed out of your lungs. Before you got the chance to gasp for air again he squeezed his hand around your throat.     “Never do that again,” he hissed.     An immense fear shot through your body, staring at the murderous look in his eyes. This was it then… he was really going to kill you this time.     “I guess it’s time for your punishment,” he said with a wicked grin. A low, sinister laugh escaping his body as he stared at your reaction. When he was satisfied with the level of fear in your eyes he bit your neck so hard all you could do was scream.     He let go of your throat, pushing your hands into the bed instead, as he drew back and stared at you again with an almost insane stare— this time blood dripping down his chin.     A knot formed in your stomach, fearing the punishment he was going to inflict on you tonight.
“Prepare yourself — for the pain you will feel tonight is nothing compared to what I’ve done to you in the past,” he promised. And you knew it was the truth.
