truthfully he doesn't entirely understand how they got into this situation. he can recount the series of events that lead to this, but the how is still what's bothering him. it doesn't help that he's most definitely concussed. and the air. there's something terribly wrong with it.

he blinks, trying to reorient himself even as the world spins. right. he's crashed. the nose of the shuttle is currently bent inwards, the entire roof has been peeled off, and he thinks he sees a thruster strewn on the ground several feet from the actual shuttle.

no. no that's not right. it's not that he's crashed. we've crashed. he looks around, dazed and slightly confused, "lysk?" where is he? perceptor pulls off his safety clasp, allowing himself to slide out of his chair. he falls to the ground, pain shooting up through his side. he grasps his side, drawing his hand away to see energon on his fingers. ah. yes, that would do it. it seems one of his modified cooling system lines has been cut. luckily that's not a fatal injury, but that doesn't mean it won't hurt like hell.

where's lysk? "lysk where are you?" he stumbles to his feet, using a ruined console as support.

it really was inevitable that they would find time together outside of the lab. though, admittedly, it took some coaxing and many hours of time spent together in the lab before anything else. neither of them seeming prone to the concept of "hanging out" in the first place.

either way, here they are now, at swerve's because really there's not many recreational sites on the lost light being a scientific vessel before anything else. (and, he finds himself guilty in this respect, scientists don't tend to think of such trivial things.)

it's a quiet day, not many have congregated here, which he's glad for, but it makes the awkward and near-stilted conversation all the more jarring. perceptor takes a swig of his drink before he says anything more.

"so... what are you most recently working on?" internally, he cringes at the question. he knows what lysk is working on. he's the chief scientific officer, everything that has anything to do with science gets approved by him first.

“That’s very interesting! I hope you don’t mind me asking for clarification, though— Cybertronians at large, the Temple crew, or…?”

"Everyone? That seems like a statistical error." A pause, before he flinches. "Sir."

Now, now, there’s no need to flinch. Not tonight, anyways; Megatron is in the sort of good mood even Starscream’s fumbling disrespect can’t dent, which means either Optimus deigned to speak with him, or Soundwave was feeling well enough to be up and about for a little while.

Normally he’d clap a mech on the shoulder but Megatron gives Lysk a second look and decides against it, servo thumping against his own chassis instead. “If no one wanted anything, the whole universe would come to a standstill! Trust me, scientist. I have seen— I have touched— the filthy crust that lines the spark chambers of mecha, from the noblest of Crystal City’s techpriests to the most wretched hive scum of Nyon. Even if they don’t know what it is, yet, there will be something they want. And they will be willing to do anything to get it.”

The best explorations are found by surprise, without the usage of high-tech like long-distance scanners and the likes of it. Sometimes, all you need is a change of heading: an impromptu pit stop.

This is exactly what leads Meme straying off to a purely organic planet. With no signs of advanced civilization, he feels comfortable entering its atmosphere with his ship which he usually leaves floating around the orbit for safety reasons. He leaves it parked on a clearing and embarks on foot.

Colorful.

What organics lack in many aspects compared to Cybertronians, they make up for their variety and an assault of vibrant colors. It’s almost overwhelming at a first glance. Fortunately, Meme gets used to the sight quickly. Noticing the sight of an alien flower, he reaches to the subspace for the camera. It is when his own scanner pings him of a point of interest.

Alright. This ought to be interesting. Pictures can wait.

As if the scanner wanted to satisfy his curiosity, Meme isn’t too far away from the location. Underground, yes, but with his years of exploration under the belt, it doesn’t surprise him. Soon, he finds the entrance to a cave system, lined with some sort of pale roots, emerging from the depths. Its faded color is a little strange compared to the saturation of other plant life. However, given that he is on an alien planet, he doesn’t question the reason behind it.

Deeper he goes, shining his way with a flashlight. Unsurprisingly, it’s humid, wet and slippery, the roots getting thicker, even lining the walls of the cave as if they are the cavern system. Its texture feels slightly soft too, not something Meme would expect.

And what he definitely does not expect is the sight of another Cybertronian when he rounds the corner. Startled, the forearm armor unshields to reveal his mounted gun, but he doesn’t aim at the other mech just yet. It’s a habit to reach for the gun in such scenarios: better be safe than sorry.

He clears his voicebox to get the others attention.

“What a coincidence to find another mech down here on this planet.���

“Friendly?”

For her to be around for so long she believes it must be luck. Too many things could have gone wrong, or been way worse than they were, for luck not to be real.

Fate, however, is a little different. She believes that certain things are fate while others are not.

Having one Brother who can see other universes where they go through the exact same events, sure. It appears that she could be fated to do things a certain way.
