Moongirl was the very first production of LaikaFilms, the successor of Wil Vinton Studios of Portland, OR, best known for the California Raisins. It was first released in 2005 and, to date, is their only short. Directed by Henry Selick , using the studio's unique blend of stop-motion and CG techniques, plus music by They Might Be Giants.

"This is my story...." 🌅👘🍁 📸 Photo by @jmsvlstrs One week from today, I'll be having my foot surgery. I've been really down lately. Not only will SFCC be my last Con until I don't know when, but I wasn't able to finish a new cosplay for it. I've also been stressed, not about the actual surgery, but of the recovery after. I suffer from depression, and crafting & cosplay keeps my mind at ease. People tell me that they would have never known that I suffer from depression, but that's because most people see me at cons & events, where I am at my most happiest self. Once an event is over and I'm at home, my mind is in a whole different world. To have to stay home for the majority of the day alone, for the next couple months, frightens me. I'm scared that the sadness will take over. With all this time to myself, I hope to pick up painting again & also complete unfinished projects to help keep my mind busy. I can already see that Netflix will be my best friend over the next couple months. I can't know what to expect until then, but for now, I can only hope to stay strong.
