⁣ Canon EOS 250D | 18mm | 1/80s | f/16 | ISO 100⁣ Taken on 29/07/2020.⁣ ⁣ And this is the lovely Lago d'Antrona!⁣ ⁣ I took this photo while following the 'Giro del Lago' ('Lake Route') that offers many panoramic views of the lake, forest and surrounding mountains — a true gift for budding photographers like me.⁣ ⁣ The lake has a dark past, though, as it was formed by a huge landslide in 1642 that crashed down on the underlying plateau and collided with some of the houses in the hamlets of Grognasca and Case, burying 95 inhabitants with no chance to escape. This natural disaster led to the valley becoming barraged, blocking the passage of the River Troncone and resulting in the mass of earth widening from below, which is how Lago d'Antrona was formed.⁣ ⁣ The 8km-walk around the perimetre of the lake is nonetheless completely safe and would without a doubt be an unforgettable experience for any visitor.⁣ ⁣ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲:⁣ See my previous post for how to arrive at Lago d'Antrona.
