Western Ave., Ste. 106, Los Angeles 90020 — Ever since my sister and I went to Anko, she’s been wanting to get pork soup due to the huge banner across the street so we finally went there to get it. I feel like a lot of people don’t know about this place judging by the small amount of reviews on Yelp but I would highly recommend checking this place out this winter if you need some hot soup with pork. I got the spicy pork soup which had so much pork I was afraid I wouldn’t finish.😂 I only ate half of my rice in order to finish all the meat. In the second pic, it’s my sister’s regular pork soup with the rice inside. Since it IS gukbap (literally means soup rice), the best way to eat it is with the rice inside the soup but they give it to you on the side so it’s your choice. Nina also wanted some soondae so she got the combo that came with it. I tried one and I have to say it was pretty tasty since the only experience I had with soondae was not that great a couple of years ago. Here is @alicesunlee and I making #Koreanbloodsausage, #SoonDae #순대 stuffed with sweet potato starch noodle, pigs blood, ground meat, ground bacon, soy sauce, black pepper(because I don't like white pepper, but traditionally white), sesame oil, etc. What we learned: fancy equipments don't work in this process as noodle will be tangled up in the stuffer.
