It’s a play! A musical. I watched it in downtown Toronto at the Royal Alexandra Theatre but it originated in London. Cief was like the first of us to watch it. Musicals are expensive so there’s no online version as photos and recordings are not allowed, but you can watch a trailer [here]. I believe they’re going to be playing in San Diego next year.

IT WAS REALLY GOOD!!!?? I already talked about it elsewhere so i’ll just copy and paste (under the cut because spoilers)

I loved everything they added to the story. The biggering part was very drawn out as it should have been, unlike the 2012 movie.

Every time there was something that was coincidental to the 2012 movie I smiled rly big haha Iike at one point he puts on sunglasses and there was this scene where he biggered his office and chair like in the song Biggering. His outfits were very green but he did wear a fedora and coattails and a striped suit and at the end, a vest. At one point he had 3 lawyers come in to convince him to tear up the contract he had with the Lorax and I immediately thought “AND THE LAWYERS ARE DENYING”. He made friends with the Lorax in this play, too.

The super axe hacker was like this giant motorbike it was awesome.

The beginning of the play was the onceler’s backstory. His family mined miff-muffered moof (ties into the book nicely) on Once Hill and they were dirt poor and breakfast was just one bean. They kicked onceler out cuz they were so poor so he had to go try to survive in the wild dgdhdh til he found the Truffula valley.

Also the reason he didn’t bother trying to plant the last seed was cuz he thought trees couldn’t grow without a lorax. Cuz at the beginning the Lorax told him that every tree needed a lorax. But “Ted” tried planting the seed anyway and stayed by it and it sprouted the next day! Because he cared a whole awful lot. So the moral was that the Lorax didnt need to come back because we can all be a lorax. Anyone can speak for the trees.

Ted was a girl in this play I thought that was excellent.

I just noticed something, when toffee regenerates his body his wearing a suit, but wouldn't make sense if he regenerated his general battle suit instead since his finger is from that time period and not in the present day where the story takes place now?

What's your favorite thing about scary movies?

When it comes to horror movies, I pretty much love anything that’s innovative or surrealist and I think that the horror genre in particular opens up that kind of interesting surrealist potential since a pretty significant proponent of horror is disturbing imagery and you can do a shit ton of interesting things with that. It’s easy to instil strong emotions in viewers through disturbing imagery and I really like that.

Horror movies used to scare me shitless but they really don’t do anything for me anymore; I have yet to watch a horror movie that actually scared me, to be honest. It’s sort of unsatisfying in a way, which is probably why I’m far more interested in surrealism and innovation when it comes to horror films.

For example, I know the movie XX got a lot of shit for being really bad, but honestly, I actually liked it? It wasn’t scary but it wasn’t like every other horror movie either and it gave off really creepypasta-esque vibes, which tend to be my preferred horror medium since they often stray from mainstream horror if you look in the right places.

I’ve also been watching Channel Zero with @glittery-meme-rabbit and @kitcrossed recently and that show is extremely surrealist (even if it doesn’t really conform to the source material) and that’s probably why I like it. If you have any good recommendations for me, be it movies, shows, webseries etc., definitely shoot them my way.
