a helpful nudge (2,106 words) -Silas and Kaze compete to win over their lord's heart. Unbeknownst to them, Corrin is oblivious to their intents. An old knight's advice may just save this romance yet.

remedy (463 words) -Even stubborn princes need to rely on others from time to time. Leo/Takumi sickfic where Nohrians have a lower tolerance for sunlight.

anyway anyway my headcanons for how the kids call xander and laslow (connected to the fic where xander becomes siegbert's dad and the fic where laslow becomes soleil's dad):

- siegbert calls them both father. when he was a child the people in the castle who interacted with him (tutors and such) would usually refer to xander as your lord father and to laslow as just laslow so at first he also just called laslow laslow, but when he grew up a little he realized what his family dynamic really is like and he wanted to start calling laslow father but laslow never corrected him before and he wasn't sure if maybe laslow didn't see himself as his father so he says nothing, until one day maybe he gets injured, like falls off his first proper horse or sth like that, and only laslow is nearby and he runs to help him, and siegbert is in a lot of pain and keeps calling him father while he's crying in his shoulder and laslow is father ever since

- soleil calls them both daddy. so my fic ends with laslow taking little soleil from the town where her paralogue takes place to krakenburg, and on the way there he tries to prepare her for court life and meeting the king, like he teaches her to properly curtsy, etc, and he knows xander will love her as soon as he meets her, but he also knows xander sent him on a standard mission to go deal with some bandits and now he's coming back with a little girl calling him daddy in tow, and if he can avoid a long lecture by softening him up first with an adorable little girl minding her manners in front of the king, he'll do it. anyway, soleil would probably be a little scared of the concept of the king of nohr but even before she meets xander she'd decide that there's no way she'd show she's afraid. and then she meets him and he's kind to her and she's like "yep, i've decided, he'll be my daddy too", so yeah, xander goes from being this scary unknown entity to daddy pretty fast.

i just want there to be contrast between siegbert living with laslow from infancy and yet needing time and courage to start calling him father, and soleil meeting xander and deciding on the spot that he'll be her other daddy.

Entry 120: Oops! All Supports #20

I’m done with the game, but I still have so many damn Supports!

Support: Selkie/Velouria

C: Selkie wants to play with Velouria. Velouria says no because Selkie is too rough and jumps off cliffs. Selkie says Velouria and her are similar but Velouria denies this.

B: Selkie asks Velouria to play with her. Velouria sees the furballs and twigs and rocks in Selkie's tail, which she thinks are treasures. Velouria agrees to roll down hills if she gets to groom Selkie's tail after.

A: The girls have fun. Velouria asks why it was so important that Selkie befriend her and Selkie says that none of their other friends can transform like them. Fuck Kana, I guess. They canonically are not friends with Selkie. The girls discuss their hair streaks and decide to be best friends.

Review: Decently fun, but a touch shallow.

Support: Mana/Percy

C: Percy volunteers for night guard duty. While working, he decides to pick up trash. Kana decides to go on patrol with him.

B: Kana and Percy decide to form a squad to help people and deliver mail. Percy says his mask symbolizes his unending quest for justice.

A: Kana and Percy praise each other.

Review: Boring.

Support: Siegbert/Soleil

C: Soleil strips off dirty clothes in front of Siegbert, embarrassing him. She says it's fine because she'll become his retainer eventually.

B: Soleil chases girls. Siegbery tells her to act modestly and stop embarrassing him. Soleil says that strong women be themselves, instead of being ashamed because of how others think.

A: Siegbert comes around to Soleil's idea that strength means not caring what others think. He says it will always be important for him to consider what others think about him, but he wants to be more true to himself. Soleil says she's a bad role model, but Siegbert says he doesn't care what she thinks. He explains that you should take pride in yourself, but not become a problem for others.

S: Siegbert says that he doesn't want Soleil as his retainer, because when he's king, he'll have an entire country obeying his commands. What he needs is a friend.

Review: Not bad. Soleil is an idiot, but her idea of staying true to herself isn't bad. I especially like the S-Rank. It isn't romantic, but the idea of Siegbert wanting a friend, not a servant, is nice.

Support: Dwyer/Nina

C: Dwyer sneaks off for a nap and finds Nina stalking people from a barrel.

B: Dwyer finds Nina again while he's doing the laundry. Nina praises him for being good at laundry and attempts to set him up with a cute guy.

A: Nina finally gets a drop of Dwyer when he's feeling bad about messing something up. Nina encourages him to cheer up. Also she says she watches him bathe and attempts to set him up with a choir boy.

S: Dwyer carries flowers for a girl he likes. Nina is sad because she likes Dwyer. But wait the flowers are for her gasp shocking.

Review: It's fine. They bounce off well but there isn't much here.

Support: Hisame/Ophelia

C: Ophelia sees Hisame growing a bonsai tree and speculates it's from a pocket dimension forest full of infinitesimally smaller trees. Hisame explains what bonsai is. Ophelia assumes bonsai trees are holy magic. Hisame gives her the tree.

B: The bonsai tree grows like a normal tree because Ophelia doesn't know how to tend to it. Ophelia thanks him for his help.

A: Hisame gives Ophelia a book on bonsai patience. Ophelia comes to the conclusion it is a magic tome. Hisame begins crushing on her.

S: Ophelia perfects her bonsai tree, then adds magic rocks and a dollhouse. Hisame asks to spend the rest of his life with her. Ophelia says yes and decides to give Hisame a cooler name.

Review: This one is weirdly excellent. Ophelia’s over the top personality bounces off Hisame really well and the duo have great chemistry. This one is nothing special, but it perfects its simple concept.

Support: Caeldori/Shigure

C: Shigure prepares to go for a peaceful flight right as Caeldori returns from training. Caeldori explains that she only flies for training and military purposes. Shigure says that the love of flying is important and invites Caeldori to come with him some time.

B: Caeldori is bored by the relaxing leisure flight and challenges Shigure to a race. Shigure wins because he has a deeper bond with his pegasus.

A: Caeldori gets frustrated about being worse than Shigure and trains for 15 hours every day to get faster, which only makes her pegasus hate her. Shigure is horrified and explains that this is animal abuse.

S: Caeldori and Shigure get together.

Review: I like that this one has Caeldori having flaws and frustrations. That poor horse.

Support: Fana/Shiro

C: Kana wants an apple from a tree to give to her father, but is unable to reach it. Shiro hoists her up on his shoulders so she can reach it. Kana declares that they are a four-armed ogre and roars at the apple. Something something mecha shiva. Kana and Shiro split the apple.

B: Shiro gives Kana a piggyback ride so they can pick more apples. Shiro spins Kana around faster and faster for fun.

A: Kana decides to pretend she's a princess. Shiro points out she's already a princess and suggests a game where Kana pretends to be a bride and Shiro pretends to be her handmaiden.

S: Shiro and Kana play a game where Shiro acts as Kana's squire. Shiro promises to always find time to goof off with Kana.

Review: This is a really cute Support about Shiro playing games with his much younger cousin. I was worried when they mentioned the bride stuff, but thankfully there aren’t any incestuous child marriages in this one.

Support: Forrest/Rhajat

C: Rhajat hates Forrest for being adorable and says she couldn't pull off his drip. Forrest says Rhajat could because she is a confident beauty he admires.

B: Forrest makes Rhajat a new outfit. She speculates that he spied on her to find out her measurements.

A: Rhajat says that she figured out who was spying on her and implies she murdered her. Also she thanks Forrest for the clothes. They become friends and Rhajat warns Forrest that she will stalk him and murder his enemies.

S: Forrest says he doesn't want to be friends anymore. Rhajat threatens to murder him, but relents when he explains he wants to date.

Review: Rhajat is actually fun in this one, instead of creepy.

Support: Ignatius/Selkie

C: Selkie hops around like a frog. She invites Ignatius to join her. He doesn't enjoy it and ends up hurting himself.

B: Selkie invites Ignatius to explore a scary cave. Ignatius is scared. Selkie asks what fear looks like because she is incapable of feeling fear.

A: Selkie scares Ignatius with a bug. He explains that he's scared of combat, his friends being hurt, and clowns. He has PTSD over Three Houses Chapter 8. Selkie offers to squish bugs, explore caves, and maul clowns for Ignatius.

S: Selkie asks if Ignatius is scared of ghosts. He says yes. She asks about friendly ghosts. He says yes. Selkie is sad because if she dies and turns into a ghost he wouldn't want to be friends. Ignatius says he won't let Selkie die because he loves her. Selkie says she'll love him forever and that she'll mess with him as a ghost.

Review: Selkie is fun in this one.

Support: Mitama/Percy

C: Mitama says that Percy is tiring to be around.

B: Percy wakes Mitama up so he can make her more cheerful. He explains that she won't be as drained if she gets mad at him being annoying.

A: Mitama acts energetic to keep Percy from being annoying, then begs him to let her be lazy.

S: Percy asks what type of person Mitama would like romantically. She says they would be a terrible match. Percy says he's energetic enough for both of them.

Review: This one was tiring.

WIP- King

A little over a week ago, Siegbert turned one. It was a delightful celebration, the crown prince’s first birthday, cluttered with gifts and food and drink. Laslow held him nearly the entire day, his little and growing boy, still too small to ever be a king. Siegbert is crawling about on Laslow and Xander’s bed now, pressing chubby fingers into the plush and climbing over mountains of blankets. Laslow lays there and watches, goading him away from edges and tickling his feet when he’s in reach. It’s just the two of them, since Xander’s frequently a busy man, and Laslow had to sneak away to spend his afternoon with Siegbert.

--- With a brow raised, dark scarlets observed his son's complexion. He looked a little pale, and there was a notable shadow under his eyes. Other than that...

He took off a glove and settled his palm over Siegbert's forehead. It did not feel hot, only if a bit clammy. With experience in both raising and growing up with his younger siblings, Xander was not so naïve as to believe all of what his son said to be fact.

Were he to look into it, he surmised the retainers would regale that his son had more that likely mismanaged his schedule.

If he was to one day be king, he would need to juggle such predicaments with a hardier mindset. For now, however, the thought of his wife's previous concerns fell upon his shoulders like a ton of bricks.

Sometimes, he needed to remember that his son needed some space and a good amount of free time whilst he was still young. It would do no good if he gained all the more of his father's work-aholic nature.

"Then, you should be at ease and rest a while longer. Perhaps today will suit you better for recuperation." Slipping his glove back on, Xander took to fixing the blankets back over his son's shoulders. "Your retainers will be on stand by outside of your room. Let them know if you need anything."

Just this once, he will let Siegbert have such times to himself.

His Brother’s Widow

Summary: Leo might have loved his brother, but he still coveted one single thing that belonged to him: his wife. Now that he is the king, the oportunity dangles in front of his eyes.

Rating: T - Suitable for teens, 13 years and older, with some violence, minor coarse language, and minor suggestive adult themes.

Notes: Ah, what loneliness does to a person! Shame a blond nerd does not come to cure mine.

As loved as Leo was, and between his father and his mother, such a statement can be disputed, there is a dark side to him. There is something evil and foul that had been nurtured in the cutthroat environment of the court of Nohr and the dispute for the throne against his brother.

A dispute that he lost, but there is no bitterness in his heart over that fact, at least not for itself. Obviously, there was no doubt the love and loyalty he had for his brother, and that fact was plain for anyone to see. He served as a minister and a general, and he has done his job in those positions to the best of his abilities, as well as being quick into suppressing any dissent that might have looked upon him as a favourable alternative.

His loyalty and service to King Xander’s court was well-known and obvious all over the realm. What did not have the same degree of transparency and respectable nobility, however, were the shame and regret he felt in yearning for Lady Corrin, his brother's wife.

When his brother dies, Leo mourned. He never truly recovers from it, nor would any of his sisters, even as the kingdom moves on and things return to a state of normality, just with a different head under the crown. His.

However, amongst his bereavement, in the corner of his eyes, standing in a dark corner of the castle, he sees her. The object of his desire finally in the grasp of his hands.

As per agreement, Siegbert and Kana, her children, were passed over to the new king as his heirs. He was unmarried and had no intention on having descendancy, so for him, it was very convenient that Xander managed to take his duty off of him before his untimely passing. He has also pledged to take care of the Queen Dowager, not in the way his forebearers usually handled it, but granting her a stipend and allowing her to remain in the castle.

Perhaps allowing is too generous of a word. He prefers it to be so, but intellectual honesty compels him to correct it to command, but solely in the privacy of his own thoughts. He would not allow her to retire from courtly life, in any case, and the fact he remains unmarried and shall be so for the foreseeable future makes it easy to argue that she must remain in her old role.

On the night after the day the appropriate mourning period ends, a knock is heard at the Dowager Queen’s bedchamber.

Left with a diminutive staff, Corrin tries to hide her surprise by opening her own chamber doors to see King Leo at your door. She welcomes him as he takes a seat and she serves him tea. A single cup, as she has no more boiled water and no-one to fetch it from the kitchens.

He just wants to talk, he says. As the people and the nobles shed their mourning whites, things take another significance, and he does not know if he is ready just yet to face their new reality. It feels too fresh, too foreign still, even if it has been the better part of a year in this state of affairs.

The two of them rekindle a bond that has been severed due to their diverging schedules, and soon enough his visits become quite frequent. Servants flood the chambers once again, and every other night, after dinner, dessert is had in that small coffee table.

It started with the two of you bonding over the fond memories with Xander. Soon, the topics starts to change. With that, new activities are proposed, and she is seen with the king by the court often. Tongues loosen and conjectures are made, but, again, dissent is quickly and swiftly supressed, with much more brutality than they were in years past.

Corrin tries to not raise a brow when Leo offers to walk alongside her to and from the dining hall. When his touches start to linger. The way he looks at her, with so much intensity that leaves you with a warm and nauseating feeling. It was wrong, to start to long for your husband's brother, dead he may be.

The lines of familiarity and amity began to blur when, in the privacy of her chambers, always her chambers, the king gifted her a beautiful necklace for her second birthday after widowhood. Turning her back to him as he places it around her neck, she does not miss the brief touches as he does so.

It becomes impossible to ignore all that she graciously pretended not to be there, and she throws herself to the profanity of it all.

When Corrin turns back to face him, her stomach flutters under his gaze. Her deceased husband loved her, she loved him, and it is hard to deny that the Royal Blood of Nohr is not strong, because Leo looks just like his brother, and he gazes at her just like his brother did. She misses it, she misses it too much.

Then, the regret seeps in when the man closes the distance. She melts under his touch. Feeling the kiss become more and more passionate, she finally finds the strength and moral fibre to pull away.

This was wrong, she told him. His hand gently cradled her face, lips brushing close to hers, yet not quite fully touching. He is letting her make the choice. Deny him, the voice in the back of her head tells her, but, in desperation for touch, to feel loved once again, it was her who closed the gap this time.

His hand reach for the back of her dress and the widow lets him. She pushes aside all the guilt and shame, allowing herself to indulge in the pleasure overtaking her.

Marry me, he utters under his breath, mouth pressed to her bare skin.

Unfortunately, she never had the heart to tell this to her children, in fear of their rejection. She forces them to find out when the king announced the union between himself and Corrin. She tries to tell them it was all done under an agreement. Leo had no choice in the matter, the marriage is all for political reasons. At least that is what he told her.

How can her look them in the eye ever again, when the king hosts a feast for the newly-wedded couple, when the seers predict a fruitful match?

When Leo, at the feast, proudly announces Corrin as the expecting mother of his heir?
