Connor is delighted to know that you have a child. He practically raised his siblings, being their big brother is the most important job of his life. He takes care of people. He doesn't know that much about babies, but he's an eager learner. He never wants another child in the world to feel like he has ever felt, to he loved so little for doing nothing wrong, for being born. He may or may not baby proof the entire house despite the fact that all your baby can do is maybe roll on their back they're so young. Despite him being a Roy, you're not afraid to leave them with him. He loves their little baby noises, especially their laugh. He can't get enough of their overjoyed squeal. You find Connor on the couch, warning you to be quiet. The baby's been asleep on him for hours, and he'd rather let his whole body go numb than dare wake them. He loves them like he loves you.

Kendall had two kids of his own, though you've seen from experience that he's not the most hands on father. Still, he tries to make an effort with yours, like he does his. He plays with them and their toys, whatever they're obsessed with at the moment: dinosaurs, cars, dolls, art, etc. You love to watch them bond, even if he's overthinking everything completely, like he did with his own. Kendall is so sure he's doing something wrong, that he'll ruin them the same way his father ruined him. You have to remind him a lot that he'd nothing like his father, that your child adores him. They call him Kenny and always draw pictures of him on the moon, with dinosaurs, even once as a princess. He doesn't admit it, but he's got every single one hanging on his fridge, next to his own kids old artwork. You both come with your kids, no exceptions. You wouldn't be you without them, too.

Shiv only ever dealt with teenagers when she was a teen herself and those brats were her brothers. Despite the mask she wears of cool confidence, she is actually very worried about making a good first impression on them. She loves you so much, like she's never loved anyone. She knew you had a kid going into it, but she never expected it to be serious enough for her to meet them. She changes her outfit four times. In the end, they think she's okay. That's about the best reaction either of you were hoping for. They're going through a bit of a phase atm, but they secretly think she's cool. She makes a lot of jokes to get them to laugh and enjoy her sarcasm. You tell her time and time again that they really do like her company, they're just a teenager. They're not known for showing too much interest in anything that isn't their friends and phones.

Roman has no idea what to do with your toddler. He doesn't understand why you cut up their grapes or why they enjoy stupid tv shows or why they can only wear one sock at a time, but he makes an effort in his own way. He watches those shows with them and plays with them, mostly questioning the practicality of their toy phone, and reads to them before bed/a nap. He really does like you, a lot. Anyone attached to you, he cares about, even if it's a tiny human who coughs in his face and licks his watch. They're growing on him, but they love him. Where's Ro-Ro? They ask constantly. He hates to see them cry, it breaks his heart, and will jokingly call you a monster for saying no them, even if it's for their own safety like putting their toy in the microwave or jumping on their bed. He definitely wants to spoil the hell out of them, just to hear them squeal in delight.

Which Succession character would you take to a fancy dinner to impress everyone

For the charm offence:

Shiv’s main skill is her ability to persuade and charm when it comes to those outside of the family. Pierce considered selling to Logan instantly if they made Shiv the CEO, she is referred to as “the nice one” on SNL, and she got Gil Eavis to meet with her dad. This is why she was so successful in politics, and could’ve continued to be if she wasn’t manipulated into leaving. As the girl she was always forced into the position of charming her dad to get his attention as she was instantly shut out from the business. This was clearly a defence mechanism because she felt abandoned by her mother who said she chose her dad. This brings us to the fact that Shiv feels threatened by other matriarchal figures (Marcia, for example) and tries to replace them. She often considers them a threat, especially when it comes to her relationship with her dad. All of those shows she doesn’t go for brutal, up front fights like Connor, Kendall, or Logan. She is subtle and tries to butter people up first, she knows when she needs to be charming.

She can lead a whole social event and knows exactly when to be flattering, when to pull out the banter, and when to bring up work. She knows what people want and need, she knows what people want to hear (this is shown when it comes to the Anniversary where Shiv is the only one who gives Logan what he wants as a present.) So long as no one offered her a stake in a company to betray me I think she’d be a good choice.

For the Business opportunities:

Stewy knows all the right people and he is somewhat loyal so long as he knows he is getting a hefty paycheck. He is very good at reading people and situations, for example during the vote of no confidence he knew when to back out and cut his losses. That being said, once he agrees to work with someone, if the money and security looks good, he is somewhat loyal. For example, he works for Sandy and Sandi from the beginning, and it’s shown in season three that not even money will sway him away from them, and he is still loyal to Sandi even after Sandy’s brain is going.

If it is purely a social event:

I admit I’m a little bit biased with this one because Roman is my favourite but I do have a genuine reason for this one. So when Roman is around his family he becomes the younger, annoying brat type. He becomes the archetype in abusive families known as the joker and sets himself up to be the scapegoat. He desperately wants to impress his dad, and later Kendall. This all shows he is extremely unimpressive. However, if we assume that this isn’t a Waystar or Roy event I actually think he’d be a decent choice.

In season one when collecting people to support a vote of no confidence against Logan Roy, Roman immediately says he will take Lawrence Yee. His reasoning is they know each other from a party they went to and get along really well. When we get to the restaurant later with Roman, Lawrence, and Lawrence’s husband Roman does actually come across as extremely charming. He’s even a little flirtatious (more so in the script) and manages to persuade them based essentially just on having the gift of the gab. It’s one of those circumstances where we see that when Roman is in a social situation without any pressure from the outside he actually can do quite well.

Another little detail I always quite like is that he is the only one who defends and is kind to Kerry after Logan’s death. Roman and Shiv I think both feel to me like if they had a different upbringing they’d be alright people.

Kskfkksf ok, I put some of them before they would start dating

1. Already said that but Kick does likes getting Kendall's attention, so he sometimes messes with her on purpose and then denies it as "well, I mess with her because I don't like her"

2. Kendall, who usually comes first to the school, opens windows in some classes. She tells teachers it's because she wants some fresh air, but also there's a certain someone who doesn't respect doors as an entrance point and she kinda doesn't like seeing him hurt.

3. Their bickering sometimes goes into such a ridiculous territories. Why on earth someone like them would get into a heated argument about koalas?

They want to talk to each other and are used to doing so that way, that's why.

4. Speaking of which, their bickering is also their way of flirting. If you don't pay attention you won't notice, but it is somewhat obvious.

5. While Kendall does get scary when she's angry, she also hates when in that state she is not taken seriously. Kick started pretending that he likes when she's mad to piss her off even more.

And then he actually started liking it.

6. Kendall once mentioned that a lot of science related problems could be used as stunt prep and Kick now has no problems with math/physics/geometry. She teases him about the fact that she is so good at academics that she basically tutored him without tutoring him at all.

7. Gunther and Mouth are the only two people that know that Kick and Kendall are crushing on each other. Gunther doesn't interviene because he respects Kick as his friend and is wary of Kendall. Mouth on the other hand? That prick enjoys the drama and Kendall kinda has a lot of incriminating info on his shady deals so he has to keep his mouth shut.

8. There are some detentions Kick got that were unexpectedly cut short. Guess who's doing is this.

9. Some of Rock Callahan's films are based on books. Whenever there's a trailer for a movie based on a book she red, Kendall would tease Kick about spoiling it (she does that to Gunther sometimes too)

10. Whenever Kick has a grandiose stunt to do that attracts a crowd, he (unconsciously) would look for Kendall in that crowd. Boy is in a denial, but he still wants to impress her the best way he knows how.

11. After some time Kick started calling Kendall "Kends" occasionally, which gets on her nerves. If she refuses to call him by his nickname - he will give her one.

12. Kick and Gunther have a "Stunt book" - a journal they use to write ideas that they can't execute right here and now or use it for calculating speed, angles, sizes for ramps ect. Both of them doodle in that journal too. Of course among Kick's doodles there's drawings of a certain bratty rule-loving girl. He erases them most of the time but Gunther already knows so Kick mostly does it to keep lying to himself about his growing fondness of said brat.

13. Since they do fight verbally a lot, they also do seriously hurt each other feelings sometimes. Whenever Kick is hurt he becomes cold and bitterly direct towards Kendall and doesn't engage in their fights if Kendall tries to initiate them. When Kendall is hurt she straight up ignores his existence and if she has to talk to him out of necessity - she becomes so overly polite that it's creepy.

14. Adding onto previous, the ways they "apologize": Kendall would genuinely ask Kick if he's ok/hurt physically even if it isn't obvious that he was doing anything dangerous and "somewhat" compliment him like "You have to think about your safety too, even if your stunts are breathtaking I guess", while Kick would ask her to help him a bit with academics even if he doesn't need it, like asking her how to memorize history dates and names quicker or what was the themes of the novel that they had to read for literature and genuinely thanking her when she (while being creepily polite) helps him. It's not the best way, but at this point they are just not ready to communicate properly.

15. Based on my "Kendall writes adventure/romance novels in secret" hc: she unconsciously tends to make male leads in her stories danger-loving and stoic-y. She herself actually haven't noticed.

16. Kick thinks Kendall is beautiful. The thing is: he doesn't realize that it's just him. He really thinks that she IS beautiful when in reality others think that she is just "okay" by beauty standards. This can lead to an exchanges like

first off i love that theyre both loveably flawed characters and that leads to the messy push-pull of their dynamic. like james is a bit of a shallow brat and kendall is a bit of a stubborn asshole so they fight, but they also have that best-friends-since-childhood loyalty where they know each other really well, they know how to put up with each other's shit, they want to help each other grow and reach their dreams. and worrying about what their feelings means for them, their friendship, the band and their futures... very fun to think about.

So, I’ve been at Waystar for about a year doing some basic office job when I get hired as Roman’s assistant, sometime early season 1. Obviously he’s not super organized, so someone (probably Kendall) suggests that he get an assistant to help him out. Which he hates the idea of… until he meets me. I’m not particularly nice to him during the interview (I know his reputation, think he’s a spoiled brat), but he likes that I’m not afraid to push back against his brash attitude. SO he hires me right away, and I spend my days organizing his schedule and cleaning out his inbox and just helping him stay afloat.

And our dynamic is unexpectedly great. He’s always making stupid jokes and flirty comments, but I’m not easily offended, so I just play along and roll my eyes and call him gross. Or sometimes even joke back, and soon he learns that I also have a pretty twisted sense of humor. The banter is excellent, and a lot of times (when there isn’t Company Drama) we’ll just talk all day instead of doing actual work. And he starts taking me out for expensive lunches and buying me bags and clothes, and the whole thing is highly unprofessional. But we’re just colleagues and good pals!! Right??

Well, turns out we actually have deep feelings for each other. Underneath all the banter and jokes, it’s pretty obvious that we just get each other in a way that no one else does. (And that we’re insanely attracted to each other- he wants me to pounce on him and it takes everything in me not to and lord help anyone who has to witness our moments of sexual tension). But neither of us can talk about it because we’re both so uncomfortable with emotions and intimacy, so those feelings just kind of tear us apart inside for years…

After that, she had to suffer the long term punishment after she went through the short term punishment that day.

“Damn Henry! I told you this closet would ruin her skin.”

“Maybe next time she’ll know to keep up in school, we can just use make up until it looks better.”

Ivan shook his head as he places his hand on top of her, which caused Kendall to look towards him with her eyes slightly widen.

“Please.” His voice was filled with sorrow and worry, Kendall could have even sworn she even heard his voice crack.

Was anyone ever this worried for her?

Kendall couldn’t remember anymore at this point.

Ivan noticed she didn’t say anything, as response to that he slowly pulled her over closer to him. Until she was fully in his lap, with both of his arms wrapped around her.

“Please, please stop doing this to yourself,” Ivan whispered in her ear as he rested his forehead against hers.

She let out a sigh as she closed her eyes as she slowly allowed herself to sink into Ivan’s warmth.

That was the problem though,

“Remember Kendall, your gift is what makes you so important. You have to be perfect to those people outside. Or they will think little of you.”

This was all she knew.

There’s a scenario in my mind in which their roles reverse and Cersei kisses Margaery, but it’s just that one time.

I mean, I know you’re not finished with the books but I think, in the end, they actually are sort of compatible on a lot of surprising things. Their internal dynamic is so interesting to me. Anyway.

I think the thing they can’t agree on can all be boiled down to religion. Like, I think Irene will never ever forgive the gods for their interference in Gen’s amputation, for the role they put her in, the danger they put him in all the time, their positions, and she will never forgive the gods for the promise of letting Eugenides fall. She is such a fearless character but there’s a moment in the final book that I think really scares her on an existential level.

And I think as much as Gen struggles with the gods, he loves and respects them. They are a part of him. And that’s the conflict.

29. Who drives and who picks out the music?

I like a Modern AU where Eugenides is afraid of cars/driving the way that he’s canonically afraid of horses. This does not stop him from being a backseat driver. But. In this AU, he retains the sexy boat captaining btw. Yeah, he picks out the music. Of course, he picks out the music. Irene hasn’t listened to radio, except for the news, for years.

I think this is like…Gen’s Daddy Issues moment. Like, I think this idea that’s always in the books about Gen loving the people that hurt him….the minute the magus attacks him in the first book…that’s the moment for Gen? And I think the magus is complicated but fundamentally good but it is definitely Gen acting out his daddy issues onto him…he wants to be a brat, to be put in place, to rebel.

Another throuple au question: How close to canon do you think you’ll stick to? I know this is a rare situation where canon sets up the au pretty perfectly but do you think you’ll have Lukas and Kendall already having their late night phone sex sessions by then? I think if you Lukas’ bratty behavior on that phonecall is put into a whole new context. Like he’s trying to distract Kendall from his grief and also creating a scenario hat gets Kendall to him asap at a time when he knows Kendall needs him but might not be able to say it yet.

I think at that point it's a flirtation and both of them are aware of it but it hasn't led to anything outright sexual yet. More interesting when it comes to Lukas's behavior around the deal if he's simultaneously managing the sibs in a deal while also angling to get Kendall's interest locked down by playing bratty and difficult to manage. Lukas knows Ken is a dom and he's a total brat and this is a way to seduce him.

Meanwhile Stewy is a submissive pet and just wants Kendall to pay attention to him and treat him sweetly and let him make Ken happy. Two very different angles. Both of which are just peaking at the point of Lukas's initial phone call of this season.
