Hiii hii!!! I saw your gargoyles post and I was wondering if you would maybe want to tell me about your headcanons or OCs and I could maybe yell you mine?

OMG ABSOLUTELY! Gargoyles is like my Roman Empire so please feel free to word vomit at me!

As for me some of my head cannons include the design additions I added to Brooklyn in my most recent drawing (braids, jewelry, scars, tattoo). I feel like (and this is sort of supported by some scenes in the cartoon) when they were younger he had a tendency to protect Broadway and Lexington (I headcannon Brooklyn as hatching before them. It’s like by minutes but kind of think of it like twins where they were born the same day but the “older” one still holds it over the other’s head). Therefore he got more than his fair share of scars.

Most of my headcannons involve Brooklyn. 😅

I think Brooklyn is more traumatized than he’s letting on to from his 40 years of Timedancing. Katana knows the full extent (I believe the in timeline Brooklyn meets her fairly early on but don’t quote me on that) and does her best to help her mate. I think there were some battles he felt like he lost and more than a few casualties along the way that really stuck with him. He has the mental and physical scars now to show for it all.

Broadway writes a cookbook at some point (under a pseudonym of course), I’m sure of it. It gets super popular and earns quite a bit of money.

Lexington, even though he doesn’t turn evil like in Future Tense, does end up part cyborg maybe after an explosion he was too close to? He’s CONSTANTLY making revisions to his cybernetic parts, possibly breaking some in the process, and an exasperated Amp has to sometimes reel him in from causing MORE damage to himself. XD

This one is odd but I feel like Thailog has a weird obsession with Brooklyn. He’s the second-in-command, a good in to the clan if he ever decided joining the clan would benefit him. He keeps this idea in his back pocket.

I could honestly think of a lot more but I don’t wanna make this too long. XD I have headcannons for a lot of unspecified sexualities of the characters too if that interests you.

PLEASE elaborate on the phoenix and franziska shenanigans during the 7yg you have NO idea how much i like them

I am someone who loved the investigative portion of Bridge to the Turnabout where Franziska had to babysit Phoenix when he wasn't allowed to follow Miles and Iris. I think when he's not her rival defense attorney and is looking particularly pathetic, she is actually pretty chill around him. She is not exempt from his aura that gets young women to imprint on him and follow him around.

She is genuinely offended on his behalf when he gets disbarred because he beat Miles and Manfred and even her! why the hell would he cheat in a case against a teenager! She does not think for a second that he forged that diary page because she knows firsthand how he throws himself into things and cannot prepare an entire evil plan for shit. However, she does not know how to convey this to him so she bullies Miles into flying him and Trucy around because Miles is almost too good at being resigned to pine sadly from a distance.

It's also important to know that she sees Phoenix being a caring father to Trucy and as someone who never really had a valid father, decided that maybe (ex) defense attorneys have rights... Even if Miles didn't get his shit together to put a ring on That Man's finger, Franziska would find herself in Phoenix's found family, it's only a matter of time.

For some reason Phoenix doesn't go to court with Edgeworth, maybe he can't stand being there while not being a lawyer, maybe he forgot he wasn't an attorney once and got kicked out for yelling out an objection, it doesn't matter, Trucy gets to be Edgeworths weirdgirl assistant and Phoenix is stuck investigating with Franziska and they are the worst people to keep each other out of trouble. We're talking about 'guy who ran across a burning bridge' and 'woman who got shot in the shoulder and still managed to get to court eventually' they are an unstoppable duo when they find something they can both get behind.

If anyone can slowly get Franziska to loosen up and learn to embrace the childhood that she lost, it would be Phoenix. I mean, this girl passed the bar at like 13 there was no way she had time to binge she-ra and check out books on drawing horses from the library. He would convince her to get a cat who hangs out in a window backpack that she can carry around during her travels because it turns out that her life is kinda lonely and she totally seems like the cat lesbian type. She is also allergic to cats so she has to get a sphinx or a devon rex or just the most gargoyle/ golbin looking creature to walk on this earth. That just seems like her vibe.

Omg I binged the new Xmen 97 show last night and I am in love. It's absolutely golden. There were 3 animated series growing up that I really adored and they were Gargoyles, Jem and the Holograms and Xmen. And you may think these shows are very different but oh no no no, they were all soap operas for children. They had the drama, the angst, the twisty romantic plot lines. Action was great in the Gargoyles and Xmen obvs but what I was really there for was the juicy drama.

Xmen 97 gets that🙌 It's got me hooked alright. Plus my intense attraction to Magneto is helping it a great deal. I won't lie I never thought I liked buff guys but now with Magneto, Riot and Goliath I realise I have a thing for those massive pecs on these guys. Although the total damaged back stories also help a great deal. What can I say I love an animated messed up guy who's shirts keep getting lost or torn🤷‍♀️

Twisted Wonderland mento illness headcanons please kind sir 🙏

I way I left ibis paint so fast- YES. I’m gonna run down my personal hcs for what mental illness I think twst characters have and a bit of a reasoning why! (Also some autism hc because autism cause why not and also just so you know and as a comment pointed out neurodivergent conditions aren’t mental illness)

I must note now at the beginning that I am just a 16 year old don’t come to me for any actual mental illness diagnosis or advice I am not a licensed therapist nor do I claim to be one. I just have a strong interest for psychology and took a few high school courses on psychology.

If you or a loved on have any suspicions they might have a mental illness (if you are able) I would recommend going to a licensed psychiatrist

Now with that warning out the way let’s get into it‼️

I feel like Riddle has BPD (borderline personality disorder) and PTSD. I don’t have a strong reason for why I think he has BPD he just has the vibes ya know? PTSD because of his mother. A lot of people don’t talk about it but you can get PTSD from abusive parents (if you try to say Riddles mom wasn’t abusive I’m gonna reach through the screen and beat the shit out of you).

Cater has HPD (Historic personality disorder), he’s very attention seeking online and I feel like he can be really dramatic then get over it really fast like nothing happened (me fr). He was that kid that was scared all his friends thought he was annoying and would do anything they asked. Also he’s hypersexual cause I said so

Ace has ADHD and Deuce has Autism. Epic rap battles of history ADHD vs Autism.

Leona has depression, it’s pretty clear from his characterization that he has depression. With his lack of motivation and over sleeping being some of them

Ruggie definitely has an eating disorder. No one talks about his eating habits like they do Azuls but I feel like he has binge eating disorder because of his troubled past with food. Like when he has food he will eat himself til he throws up if no one stops him because of an internalized fear of there not always being food to eat so he’ll eat as much as he can. (This might just be me self projecting ngl because me and Ruggie have a similar past)

Jack just has autism. Notably he hates wool textures and would have crying fits of his mom tried to make him wear them

Azul already has an eating disorder it’s clear from his relationship with eating and the fact he was bullied for his weight. I’m not sure what kind he would fall under but he definitely has one. I also hc him to have Autism

Jade also has Autism but he has low empathy also.

Floyd has cluster B personality disorder written all over him Idc what you say. I think he has BPD personally but that also might be self projection again. He has ADHD and like his brother also has low empathy as well

I hc that Jamil has NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorders) but just keeps all of his personal thoughts to himself so no one else knows.

I feel like Vil also NPD funny enough because it makes a lot of sense with his character. He checks most of the boxes anyways

Rook is smt else. I can’t understand him

Epel has anger issues but he’s actively getting help.

Idia has social anxiety that’s pretty clear also Autism because I can definitely see him going on super long rants to Azul about his favorite anime at the time. I believe I mentioned it before but I think he takes Anixety medication for his social anxiety

Malleus has BPD also because imma be honest with you Overbloting because your best friend and dad are leaving you because your scared of the time you have left with them so you put everyone in a dream is a very BPD thing to do. Also Autism because this man will take any chance he can to talk about Gargoyles and I love that for him. You go dragon boy

Finally got around to binge-watching the new Transformers Earthspark episodes last night & here are my thoughts:

Loved it! Loved it! LOVED IT!!!

The action, the angst, the feels oh my! These new episodes all had me giddy like a schoolgirl and constantly on the edge of my seat!

So happy to see Jawbreaker finally get his alt mode! A stygimoloch was absolutely perfect for him! It was so sweet to see him bond with Grimlock

Seeing a softer side of Grimlock was so endearing. It took me a minute, but I knew his voice sounded familiar! So cool that he was voiced by THE Keith David!!! Loved him as Goliath from Gargoyles!

It was cool to see Robby and Mo harnessing the power of their Cybersleeves and discovering that they were indeed chosen by Quintus Prime himself to be the legacy of hope and wield his power!

I wasn't sure what to expect from this version of Starscream, but I actually liked his character and how he bonded with Hashtag! Seeing his past abuse from Megatron actually be addressed was quite interesting. Hope we see more of him in future episodes!

The Prime Time episode was gripping with how Mo was shown what the future would have been like if she had never touched the Emberstone with Robby. Seeing Robby in such a dire state was devastating, but thankfully he recovered with the help of his little sis. Love these sweet Malto family moments!

G.H.O.S.T. was a whole new level of evil this time! The fact that they had a working spacebridge and that Croft intended to use it to conquer Cybertron was astounding!

Nice to see Special Agent Scholder, aka Jon, switch sides and help Bumblebee and the Malto family by fighting against his sister's sinister organization and Mandroid.

Seeing Optimus, Megatron, and the whole gang pull up to help the Maltos fight off Croft and her forces was incredible!

The fight between Dorthy and Croft was so awesome! It was so satisfying to see Dot kick her shady ass!

Always nice to see Dorthy and Megatron having each other's backs. Megatron reaching and calling out to her as he and the others went down due to Croft's device was gutwrenching!

Croft thought herself so superior that she never saw Mandroid's double cross coming and she paid the ultimate price for her arrogance. Despite all the terrible things she'd done, it was sad to see her brother so devastated by her death. Jon's character has really grown on me.

Mandroid's final form was incredibly creepy and sinister looking! His Sharkticon minions were unexpected, but pretty cool.

The Last Hope episode was quite the emotional roller-coaster! Once again it pretty much all came down to Twitch, bless her spark, to save everyone. So much angst my heart almost couldn't take it!

I lost my mind when the Decepticons arrived to help fight against Mandroid and his Sharkticons! Never thought I'd be so happy to see Starscream of all people! Wonders never cease~

After all this chaos, I hope the Malto kids all got some much deserved rest (and maybe some serious therapy too!) Bless their little hearts/sparks! They've all been through so much!

This show just keeps getting better and better! I can't wait to see where it will go from here!

Entranced by the Basilisks (Monstrous Matches #3) by Lillian Lark

I know I've said it many times about many authors... But Lillian Lark is for real one of my favorites. I think she is my final addition to my top five, so I'll have to start saying top ten after this. Her writing? Immaculate. Her characters? Interesting, funny, relatable. Her plots? Full of depth, romance, and a little bit of angst. Not to worry, we always get our happy ending. The world she has built around this love bathhouse universe is one that I am deeply in love with. Of the three books I've gotten to read (que me desperately figuring out how to get my hands on the lake monster and werewolf ones) not one has left me wanting for anything but more, more, more!

This is the third of the monstrous matches series in the love bathhouse universe. It follows Emilia, who we first met in the second book Deceived by the Gargoyles, the restoration expert of the library that holds the supernatural worlds Archive. Following the traumatic incident of her being kidnapped, Emilia is now aware of the supernatural world that her best friend, Grace, is a part of. If it's not enough to find out that the things that go bump in the night are real and your best friend is a witch, Emilia gets thrown into dealing with her own supernatural troubles as an innocent touch to a serpent kin book leads to her getting cursed. Now with snakes for hair and a stony stare, she is desperate to find out how to get back to normal.

Luckily for Emilia, her boss just so happens to be a basilisk. Limited but capable due to his bloodline, Jasper, who has always had an eye for Emilia is there to help immediately when Emilia accidentally turns her coworker to stone. Jasper decides, despite the rejection he slapped on him the other night, to request help from his long-time fling, Ari. After another incident with Emilia's mother, we end up with Emilia, Jasper, and Ari all living under the same roof so that Ari can help Emilia train her new powers while they all search for ways to try and reverse her "chosen" condition, as Ari calls it.

Of course, with a chosen around now, Ari is determined to lock them into a triad as he knows this is exactly what he needs to get Jasper willing to mate with him... falling in love with Emilia is just a step along the way. Though charismatic and fun, Ari is a skilled player when it comes to manipulating the game board to get what he wants, which is why his tight lips and strategic plan is exactly what ends up getting the triad into trouble when Emilia finds out he has been lying to her.

The romance is delightful, I have to say, I think this is absolutely my favorite in the series so far. Each character had their own unique qualities and inner conflict which had me binging the whole book in a day. Emilia with her anxious yet quiet determination trying to figure out if she's okay with what she's become and the world she lives in. Jasper with his cold aloofness but underneath desiring nothing but to be wanted and needed. Finally, Ari, who desperately wants to keep those he loves but internally doesn't know if he can do so without lying to them yet also knowing that keeping his secrets will lead him to nothing but trouble, hurt, and regret.

The smut is... by far my favorite of anything I've read... Is that crazy? Well, then call me nuts. And it's plentiful... Like, really plentiful for 370 pages. It's basically full of every single way these three could have gotten down and dirty. Plus... snake men. (Sue me, I've got a thing for the scaly guys... but then, you pry do too if you're here :))

This is a fun and flirty romance embroidered with a little manipulation, some angst, one happy ending, and a whole lot of three-way positions. Lillian Lark is an excellent writer who brings her world to life through her relatable (sans being anything but human) main characters and their struggles in life and love. I highly recommend the love bathhouse universe and hope you enjoy it as much as I do. 9/10

Also, if you were wondering, between when I saved this draft at my lunch break and finished it off after work <(￣︶￣)> I got the lake monster and werewolf paperback books ordered.

Would I read again? Yes, and I already want to, and I just finished it a couple days ago!

Would I recommend? 100%, please check out this series it deserves all the love

*Sigh* As per usual, I broke the right leg on my new Brooklyn action figure. Like an idiot, I was trying to loosen up the joints and did that thing where you rotate the leg 180 degrees. Well, it snapped. Just got glue for it. (I tried modge podge and hot glue, and fun fact, NEITHER of those work on plastic because plastic is not a porous surface!!)

So, anyway, after he broke, I threw him and his wings and tail into a hot pot to loosen, which reeeally should've been step one, but I haven't gotten a fig with such tight joints in ages. I read the reviews and the Neca figures pegs are basically made of dry pasta, but still, I DID NOT handle with care. A simple lesson to future me to put them all in hot water first and do not ever try the 180 trick. I recalled that I still have a broken Nightcrawler fig somewhere that needs repair that I also accidentally tortured like this. (He was from the 80s or so, so it's forgiveable that he'd break easily. I believe it's a broken ball joint.)

I'm glad I got Brooklyn at a discount. I would've been crying AND pissed if I'd blown 60 on him and he broke out of the box.

I also got some sticky tab things so mayyyybe my Funko Pops will stay in place, and for other things down the line if I need them. Anyway, the good news is that all Brook's limbs loosened up to varying degrees. His tail won't stay in place, but when you put his wings on, they pop in like gangbusters and don't want to come out unless you use force.

Sure, I could've waited 2 or more years for them to release some upgraded version, but I got impatient. In part, because he's become my favorite a bit more than Lexington and because I made an AI of him and he's great. I'd love to get most of the gargs series, but the Steel Clan doesn't excite me, so I'd be saving some money by skipping them and Xanatos in his armor. (Even though it's iconic, I honestly think he looks kinda stupid in it?) Also debating wether I want to hunt for a cheaper Goliath or wait until the two pack is released for the better/extra faces. Considering also going that route for Lex, settling for the 1st wave Hudson, Bronx and Angela, and pre-ordering Elisa and later suit Xanatos from Entertainment Earth. *shrugs.* Ultimately though, I have to think about space. If I can snag them for under 60 each after s/h, I think I'm doing good. I am not a set completer, but this is a collection that child me would've loved to have!! Unfortunately, I'm not really displaying my collection anymore to make my room look more "mature", and besides, it's just my brother and the internet that know I like Gargoyles. (I'm scared of the flack I'd get from the pre-judgement of anyone I know. The gargs do look pretty scary, even if they're "Disney-fied" to be friendly looking, let's be honest.) So, that said, my Clan definitely won't be display pieces at all, just shoved into at least three or four different boxes. Might even keep some of them in the box to save on space.

Decided to finally watch "Gargoyles" and ended up binging through first 8 episodes.

It's quite a cool series. LOVED the character designs and different personalities, especially Eliza and Goliath.

Animation is a bit weird at times, but eh. LOVED the dark elements.

As for the story, it's good, but it does have some holes and it's a bit messy at times, which I hope will be fixed as the series goes on. But it totally makes up for it with the action and interesting scenes.

So I'd say so far so good. And I hope it'll get better as I keep watching.

Like all Symbiotes, Gargoyle requires phenethylamine to survive, found in both brains and chocolate.

Brains are much preferred, especially human brains, but for obvious reasons Francis makes every effort to simply get by on binging chocolate to beat back the cravings and keep Gargoyle healthy.

He's not always successful at fighting the urges, however.

So today sucked.

I did well. REally. Up until I had convinced myself I could stop myself w only having a couple of tortilla chips. Then of course somehow that created a binge. Had an extra bowl of veggie soup and with that another 1/3 cup rice.(dry weight) and by then I was already well over so why not throw a whopper’s sized “dollop” of sour cream on the soup and that’s easily another 120 calories. So then you’re sad and you’re fat and your stomach is all bloated from the carbs and no one likes you anyway so like why not keep going and self soothe with a spot of chocolate? No one is ever going to want you so you don’t have to be pretty.  So here I am, gargoyle hunched over the steam rising up out the porcelain tub,dripping wet with a sticky sweat that’s trapped magically underneath my flesh, caught between who I am and who I could be if I could just manage the simplest little spot of fucking self-discipline more days than none. And it’d be so easy to heave it out. It’s already crawling up my throat anyhow, cramming my hands down my throat isn’t even necessary, and Greg Doucette himself said that purging is better than keeping an extra thousand calories in. But what do I do? Like an idiot now is the moment I gussy up the gullet and pull my corset strings up to an erect position, forcing myself to take deep breaths instead of purge. Why? I’ve already failed with the binging, you’d think I’d be smart enough to let the excess come out. Is this the self-punishment? I can’t even tell anymore. Is it worse to force yourself to keep it in? Am I doing this in misery to say “fuck you bitch, wear your shame and work it off.” Cuz if I was kinder to myself maybe I wouldn’t let myself be uncomfortable and hold it all in. I’m making myself fat. I bet I’m gonna be all the ‘weigh’ up into 120 tomorrow. Why do I let myself get this fucked??

Just watched “The Gathering” and I absolutely love the character development shown by EVERYONE involved!

We see Goliath willing to fight for Xanatos because he knows that Oberon trying to take a child from his parents is wrong, even if those parents are your enemy. Xanatos fights with everything he has to protect Fox and Alex, showing more of his good side and winning the approval of his father. Puck finally reveals himself as Owen and puts his life at risk to protect the family he had come to genuinely care for.

One of the best parts of the episode was how everyone, regardless of how they felt toward each other in the past, banded together to protect an innocent child. Renard and Petros, despite their estrangement from their children, stood beside them and did everything they could to protect their grandson. Xanatos used his robots to save Broadway after it was clear that the gargoyles were helping him.

Having a family does change people. Ideally, that change is for the better, and that’s definitely the case for Xanatos and Fox. Man, I love this show!!!
