what i ate in toronto last week
felt like food blogging hehe
Day One
The first thing I got was a tea and donut bites from a new donut stand in the Portland airport. Yum! Then I remembered I had a long day of traveling ahead of me and went back to the Tillamook store for some real sustenance. Honestly I thought a chive biscuit egg sausage cheese sandwich would be a slam dunk but it wasn't that good.
Donuts: 8/10 (had them over the course of 3 days)
Sandwich: 5/10
Even on long flights, Air Canada only offers paid options. I got this BBQ chicken wrap for $11 CAD or something. Tortilla to filling ratio was bad but it did the job. 4.5/10
I got into the hotel late at night and just decided it wasn't worth the effort to get more food, so thats all for day one lol
Day 2
Met with Suyasha and had Cafe Landwer! Was starving and it took forever for the food to come out. This is the Mediterranean shakshuka. Bread was so fluffy. The presentation is gorg but i wasn't obsessed with the tomato-y sauce I guess. 7/10
In the afternoon I got a matcha at the library cafe where we worked (it was average, so I guess 7/10 because me love matcha). Later, I went to Fuwa Fuwa Pancakes for pre-dinner dessert. I'm glad I went when I did, because they cook everything fresh, and the wait was long even when I was the only customer. So fresh, fluffy, and refreshing - not too sweet. Yum! 9/10
After that, some folks told me they were getting dinner, so I said I'd join assuming I'd get an appetizer. Well, they decided on all you can eat hotpot, so that was unfortunate lol. We had a good time, food was good but not really noteworthy. I tried a mussel, gross! Also ate a pepper wrapped in beef that had been soaking in the spicy side for too long. That shit HURTED. 5/10
Day 3
I needed something fast to keep me going before the wedding - sadly the only thing I could walk to in time was McDonalds. The tzatziki seasoning was bad and basically ruined my fries. Chicken wrap was just whatever. 3/10
Unpictured: Shirley's wedding food! I forgot to take a pic sadly. I had chicken, kimchi mac and cheese, and other things I don't exactly remember, but it was all yummy! Plus the signature cocktails were really great. 8/10
Day 4
Niagara falls tour with Alyssa, Hwee, Jen, and Alex(?)! we shared between 4 people. It was steaming hot and yummy. I love cheese curdsss. 7.5/10
While the group went to go on the boat, I got a prosciutto goat cheese salad and a cocktail at the Queen Alexandra. Cocktail was a bit watery and salad was 90% arugula with not enough dressing - but the point was I could see the falls from my seat and they had ceiling fans (IT WAS SO HOT) 6.5/10
When we got back from the tour finally (took 3 hours to get back in traffic), we got Mr. Tonkatsu! The katsu was really flaky and good. 8/10
We also went and got asian shaved ice after this - one with red bean paste and one with almond and soybean. i wasnt really into these so i only had a few bites.. i miss hawaiian shaved ice fr. oh yeah i got some baked walnut balls here too, they were ok, would be better if they were warm. 3.5/10
Day 5
gochujang mushroom tofu banh mi at rustle & still cafe.. OH MY GOD. spicy, creamy, a lil crunch from the pickled carrots and peanuts. i might try to replicate it, it was everything. 10/10
chicken biryani from rikki tikki, with Alyssa, Shendy, and Matt. another HUGE W meal... spicy, scrumptious, perfect. the rice had pomegranate seeds in it which was such a nice little sweet crunch. it came with yogurt sauce which i adored with the spicy meal. im drooling thinking about it. 10/10 my only complaint is that i like more pillow-y naan
Day 6
Lunch was leftover Rikki Tikki!
Forgot to take a pic before it was gone, but I had a chai latte at the cafe we worked at today. It was meh, 4/10. at least the cafe had ok wifi and good a/c lol
After work, I started wandering around and went to a matcha cafe called Tsujiri. All the stuff on the menu looked amazing but I got a peach yogurt matcha frappe. It was so freaking good and those big slices of peach on top were yummy too. 9/10
While walkin' I had to stop at this Vietnamese cafe because the cake looked so yum. And it was! Fresh mango with layers of shortcake, mango pudding, and cream. i just wish it was a little smaller so I hadn't felt so bloated from eating it lol (it had to stay cold and it was a hot day so... I had to just eat it) 8.5/10
For dinner we went to a Jamaican/Chinese fusion place called Patois with Shirley, Jeremiah, Alyssa, guy who I forgot name, and his old WoW guild leader or something haha. We got a "feast for two" to share with the table, plus pork belly yakitori, becuase some of us weren't hungry. I didn't eat much but my fave was the yakitori. The rest was just ok. 5.5/10
Day 7
For my last day Suyasha and I went to Tibetan Cafe and went shopping afterwards. The reviews for this place were so high, but we were both underwhelmed by these "momos" (chicken dumplings). The dipping sauce was tomato-y but overall it was a bit bland. Suyasha is Nepalese and she said this was low-end by her standard lol. I'll try Tibetan food another time. 6/10
This was the first canned diet coke I had all week and man, how sweet it tastes - new jeans
At the airport I shared a snack of poutine and a maple moscow mule with Shirley :3 This poutine wasn't as good as the one I had before. Moscow mule was nice, the maple flavor was mild. 5.5/10
And yes, to give me the energy to travel until 3am EST, I got another BBQ chicken wrap on the plane. So nice I had it twice. Jk, it was not that nice, but actually this time it had a better filling to tortilla ratio lol. 5/10

Collegebound, Chapter 16: Counterpartshipping Date
Yuya was bouncing on his heels later that evening as he waited for Yuto to come pick him up for their first date. It was very obvious that he was super excited, and Yuri and Yugo noticed. Yuri grinned at him, “Well, someone’s excited, hmm?”
Yuya blushed and grinned. “Yeah! I really can’t wait! This is going to be so much fun!”
“Well, you’re gonna have to tell us all about it when you come home!” Yuri said, ruffling his tomato fluff. Yuya’s blush grew brighter and he giggled. “I’m sure I’ll have a lot to tell you about!” he agreed.
“What show are you guys gonna see?” Yugo asked, rifling through the DVD cabinet. “You guys are gonna go to the dinner theater, right?”
“Yeah, we’re gonna be seeing the Black Butler musical,” Yuya said happily. “Black Butler is one of our favorite shows! We’ve seen it on TV, but we’ve always wanted to watch a live performance of the musical!”
There was a knock at the door, and Yuya nearly tripped over his own two feet as he rushed to answer it. Standing there with a bouquet of red roses and lavender was Yuto. He smiled at Yuya and offered him the bouquet. “I got you some flowers!” he said.
“Aw, Yuto! They’re beautiful!” Yuya exclaimed, delighted by the bouquet. He brought the flowers into the dorm and put them in a vase of water. Yuri raised an eyebrow at the flower combination, and smiled. “Yeah, I can see it,” he said.
“See what?” Yuya asked, blinking. Yuri grinned. “Flowers tend to have symbolism. Lavender symbolizes serenity and calm, while red roses symbolize love and passion. When combined, a bouquet of lavender and red roses symbolizes a harmonious blend of passionate love and serene devotion, a relationship that is both intense and calming, and a deep emotional connection that is nurturing and respectful. It conveys a message of love that is both fiery and calming, a balanced relationship. And based on what I know about the two of you and your relationship so far, I can definitely see it.”
Yuto and Yuya blushed and looked away from him. Yuto cleared his throat and said, “Well, shall we go? We don’t want to be late!”
“Yeah, let’s get going!” Yuya agreed, taking Yuto by the hand. The two of them left the dorm, eager to begin their date.
Yuya and Yuto made their way to the local dinner theater hand-in-hand, talking excitedly about the play they were going to see. Both of them loved Black Butler, especially Yuto, who had been the one to introduce Yuya to it. At first, Yuya had been quite reluctant to watch an anime with such dark themes, but he’d quickly fallen in love with the show.
“I hope the Undertaker is in the musical!” Yuya said excitedly. “He’s my favorite character!”
Yuto chuckled. “Yes, as I recall, you got a crush on him when his face was revealed in Book of Atlantic!”
Yuya blushed looking away with a huff. “I mean, I can totally see why Grell got a crush on him after she lifted his bangs in the Book of Doomsday arc in Season 1. And he definitely didn’t seem too opposed to her offer either!”
Yuto laughed. “He didn’t, did he? He was even smiling, if I recall correctly! I really hope he’s in the musical too. Sebastian is my favorite character, and he’ll obviously be in it, so I hope you get to see your favorite character too!”
* * *
Yuya and Yuto had both been to dinner theaters a few times with their families when they were younger, but the experience was different when it came to being on a date. The two of them decided to order a nice, big meal to share together as they watched the musical. Their meal consisted of edamame, gyoza, teriyaki chicken, katsu curry, rice, miso soup, mochi ice cream, and dorayaki, as well as some Ramune. Yuto got the melon Ramune flavor, while Yuya chose lemon Ramune.
The play was very entertaining as well. Yuya was particularly delighted when the Undertaker made an appearance, and Yuto smiled at the adorable look of excitement on his face. Seeing the tomato-head’s broad smile, Yuto picked up a piece of chicken with his chopsticks and held it up to Yuya’s mouth.
Yuya blushed brightly and shyly ate the chicken. It felt really nice being fed by his sweet boyfriend, and he wanted to do the same for him. Taking up his own chopsticks, he picked up a bit of the curry and held it to Yuto’s mouth. Without any hesitation whatsoever, Yuto leaned forward and ate the curry.
“This is so much fun!” Yuya murmured to Yuto, quiet enough to not be heard by the people around them but just loud enough for Yuto to hear him. “I’m really happy that we’re doing this for our first date. And that we’re finally together!”
“Me too!” Yuto agreed.
* * *
By the time the play was over, Yuya and Yuto were both in very excellent moods. As they left the dinner theater they discussed the play.
“Oh my god, that was amazing!” Yuya squealed, bouncing on his heels in delight. “Can you believe how good it was?”
“I know right!” Yuto agreed with a grin. “The singing was incredible, and the jokes were hilarious!”
“Ah, I would love to perform in a Black Butler musical one day!” Yuya sighed dreamily. “Can you imagine me as the Undertaker?”
“Well, your hair is more suited to Grell, if I’m being honest,” Yuto replied, poking Yuya’s side. The tomato-head giggled, batting his hand away. “Nahaha! No tickling! Heehee!” he giggled.
“Well, there’s really not enough time to tickle you anyway, no matter how much I want to!” Yuto teased. “We’ve reached the skating rink! C’mon, let’s go skate!”
Yuya lit up happily as the two boys went inside. The skating rink was quite chilly, as it was an ice skating rink, and there were a fair amount of people on the ice, though it wasn’t crowded. Yuya and Yuto paid for their entrance and skates, and made their way onto the ice.
Yuya grinned as he glided onto the ice. It was so nice not to hear the words “NO BACKFLIPS!” screamed at him the moment he stepped foot on the ice. He’d done one backflip on the ice in the Maiami City skating rink when he was six, and ever since then the staff always yelled at him to not do backflips on the ice every single time he skated.
Yuto chuckled, knowing exactly what was going through Yuya’s mind right now. He’d heard the tomato-head get yelled at too many times to count, despite the fact that he’d only ever done a backflip on the ice one time when he was six. Twelve years of being yelled at for something he’d only done once had gotten really annoying, and even Yuto was glad that nobody was yelling at Yuya right now.
The two boys held hands as they skated, enjoying the peaceful experience. After a while, Yuya smiled at Yuto. “This is so much fun!” he said. “It’s been a few months since I skated!”
“I know, right?” Yuto said, smiling back at Yuya. “I haven’t had the chance to do so since before the term started! It’s really relaxing!”
“Mhm!” Yuya agreed. “And best of all, I haven’t been screamed at once!”
Yuto chuckled. “Yeah, you’d think after twelve years the Maiami City skating rink would figure out that you weren’t going to do it again! Seriously, you only did it one time! And you were six!”
“I know right?” Yuya pouted. “How rude of them! They need to get a life!”
“Well, let’s just enjoy the peace while we can!” Yuto said, twirling Yuya on the ice. “C’mon, let’s dance!”
* * *
When the two boys finally left the skating rink, it was already getting dark. Luckily for them, the park they planned to stroll in for the final part of their date was lit up by pretty lights, perfect for romantic moonlit strolls. The two of them held hands as they walked down the path of the park.
“The park is really beautiful at night,” Yuya said, smiling as he watched the fireflies flashing in the air. Yuto smiled as he gazed at the tomato-head’s face. “Yes, well, I’m looking at something even more beautiful.”
Yuya looked up at Yuto in interest, then blushed brightly and looked away shyly as he realized what the eggplant was talking about. “You’re such a charmer,” he said, wrapping his arm around Yuto’s and resting his head against the eggplant’s shoulder.
Yuto chuckled. “Tonight has been the best night of my life,” he said, kissing Yuya’s cheek. “I never imagined I would be so happy, and be able to be with you like this. I always thought I’d be too scared to confess my feelings to you. And now, here we are, on our first date! And it was so much fun!”
“I know right?” Yuya replied happily. “I’m really glad you told me how you feel about me. I thought I’d be content with just having a crush on you for the rest of my life. But actually being your boyfriend is so much better!”
Yuto was about to reply when a streak of light darted through the sky. “Did you see that?” he asked, eyes wide.
“I did!” Yuya replied, looking up at the sky. Another streak of light moved, followed by more. “Oh my goodness! It’s a meteor shower!”
“Oh this is just perfect!” Yuto gasped. “We couldn’t’ve planned for a better ending to our date night!”
The two boys watched the meteors light up the sky, eyes shining in excitement. This really was the perfect ending to their date!

My favourite vegetables: cucumber, iceberg lettuce, peas, corn, carrots and potatoes.
My favourite fruits: olives, grapes, watermelon, kiwifruit, apples, rock melon, pineapple, strawberries and avocados.
My favourite cheeses: dodoni feta, parmesan and mozzarella.
My favourite breads: sourdough, Turkish bread, olive bread and focaccia.
My favourite sauces: bolognese, alfredo, passata (it's really good on pizza) or literally just any tomato sauce.
My favourite pastas: fettuccine, spaghetti, linguine, lasagne and rigatoni.
My favourite foods: ricotta cannolis, arancini filled with bolognese sauce, lasagna, spaghetti bolognese, nachos, fried chicken, honey chicken, chicken katsu curry, fettuccine alfredo, tacos, Sicilian pizza with vegetables and salami, inari, katsu prawn sushi, plain white rice, or a plate of vegetables.
Now you'd think with taste like this I'd be a skinny legend, but I'm a fatty because I eat it all too much.
Sorry for this, I just love listing my favourite things.
For my favourite olives I'd say kalamatas, black olives, and green olives stuffed with feta. I love olive mixes that have both kalamatas and green olives, sun-dried tomatoes and some capsicum, I fuck that shit up.

Champion’s Curry, 2-E Union St, Ste 120, Pasadena, CA 91103
Champion’s Curry was founded in 1961 in Kanazawa, Japan and became a chain known for inventing a new stye of Japanese curry, Kanazawa curry. Kanazawa curry is thicker, darker, and deeper in flavor compared to other Japanese curries. The curry is made with beef, pork, fish, and more.
Champion’s Curry has a fast casual format. Place your order on the iPad and they’ll call your number when your order is ready. The restaurant is small and looks like a fast food place with counter seating. The menu isn’t posted. It includes curry rice (with pork, chicken, beef, fish, or veggies), katsu sandwiches, salads, fries, and desserts. You can specify how spicy you’d like your curry to be.
Fish katsu curry ($15.50): Panko breaded white fish, spicy curry, tomato rakkyo salsa, cilantro aioli sauce, chives, and steamed white rice. The fish was perfectly fried with a thin, crispy panko batter. There were two big pieces of fried fish. I couldn’t really taste the cilantro aioli on top of the fish, but that’s because the curry has so much rich flavor. The curry is sweet, savory, complex. I missed the fresh cabbage Japanese curry is usually served with but the tomato and onion condiment was tastier than plain cabbage. There was an ample amount of curry sauce too and it was surprisingly spicy. I like to mix everything together.
Service was friendly. The food arrived quickly too.
4.5 out of 5 stars

Japanese vegetable curry with pre-made breaded chicken cutlets. Easy katsu curry!
Five Guys! We literally never eat out but the kid was at a birthday party that just happened to be next door to a Five Guys. What can you do?
Roast chicken with mixed root mash (potato, carrot and swede), sautéed lettuce and green beans.
These were an idea from one of my moots on Twitter. Lotus root skulls on spicy mapo tofu!
Cheat pilau with leftover roast chicken, one of those curry packet rices and some chopped tomato and cucumber, mini poppadoms and chutneys
This was so damn good. Bacon, crispy grilled cheese and homemade kimchi sandwich. I urge you to do this.
Eggs Royale for Mother’s Day.
Homemadeish dorayaki! I’d never had pre-made mini pancakes before and was thrilled to find they were exactly the right size and texture for dorayaki. The first one is clotted cream and jam, like a cream tea, and the second is actual anko that we realised we bought months ago with no plans to use it. Totally doing this again.
Jesus, it’s been a month of gluttony. I’ve got one more recipe post to share once I’ve written it up—it’s an exciting one based on a meal I’ve admired for years in my favourite movie.🧹🐈⬛🎀🥖

I want to go to Whole Foods and buy a parfait and a blueberry cake, a birthday cake with fudgy chocolate stuffed in it & 2 sugar cookies, 6 corner piece brownies and I’d want mac&cheese & a big penne pasta with tomato sauce and then a thin pizza with stuffed crusts and after that I’d want chicken, all types, katsu, strips, grilled honey mustard, with mashed potatoes. and the same side dishes except with a thick tasty slab of salmon, then sushi, coconut shrimp, butterchicken curry with naan bread and rice. God just a big bowl of rice with lemon pepper seasoning. Crab legs and cheesy butter sauce and then Italian BREAD AND BUTTER !! Bacon and pancake syrup. Alfredo pasta and loaded nachos & loads of shit from every fast food place I want. Taco Bell and McDonald’s and Panera bread and chipotle

Truly, Dante and Ink would get along well and bond over pizza. If Ink met Dante, she would probably give him a tour of the best pizzerias of all kinds. For example, she will tell him about a pizzeria that sells big large slices. There is no way that Dante would turn that down, would he?
Ink has no idea how bad Vergil loathes pizza because of his twin's addiction.
But if there's one thing that Vergil and Ink would bond when it comes to food over is Japanese cuisine. Where the cuisine has her favorite food meal which is Donburi rice bowls.
"Yes! Japanese food is also my favorite! If you ask me, I think I like it more than pizza. With pizza, you have most of the things you need inside the food pyramid like cheese, tomato, meats, veggies, olive oil, and grain. But with Japanese food and their rice bowls, you can get all that in one bowl, and is good as a meal! Like uh....the...the beef bowl which is called uh....Gyū-don? With beef and sliced cooked onions. " Caramelized onions she means, "over rice, with poached egg, pink pickled ginger, , green onions, chopped up cooked seaweed, and those yellow slices that looks like fruit and taste like fruit but isn't fruit? Oblivion tells me that it's picked radish called Daikon.." Said Ink. "I also love the pork cutlet the uh....Katsu-don, love the egg scrambled with the onions mixed in there over rice and the grilled eel dish one, I love that one." Ink talked.
"And I love it when they serve with the soup, the miso soup! It tastes so good. One time...I try to pour on the empty side of the bowl with the rice inside and taste it with rice soaked in it. It's pretty good! I can eat it on a rainy day." Ink said, describing the taste with a smile. The rice being soaked with miso is so good, it works! "Honestly....Japanese food is pretty healthy if I have to eat one thing every day so I get what you mean. Because every time I order it, it always fills me up right away and it never gets cold over time when finishing it."
Now thinking about it. Ink had an idea now of where to take him for lunch next time as a way to return the favor for this delicious Chicken Paramasen and meeting Mrs. Pott.
"Vergil! I know the best place we can get the rice bowls!" Ink smiles. "Let's go to Flushing, Queens! There is a mall that has an Asian market and downstairs there's a food court that serves all kinds of Asian foods. From Japanese to Korean to Chinese, Taiwanese, Thai, Vietnamese...and uh what else? Oh! and Thai!" That's something Vergil would like, right? After all, there is a Japanese food spot within that bustling food court.
But first....
"I need to let Guam know from the Great Upstander Campaign that we're coming through if we're going to do that. Knowing him, he might be okay with this if we're just visiting for food." Said Ink.
"Oh! So it's a dish you love as a kid! I think I get it!"
𝑽𝒆𝒓𝒈𝒊𝒍 𝒈𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒅𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆 𝒂 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝒏𝒐𝒅 over a forkful of salad. Ratatouille was often considered as a peasant dish in its homeland, but depending upon the hands that prepared and served them, it could come up to par with its fancier culinary confrères. His mother's hands were one of such and what culinary magic she cast upon the dish transformed it from a mere provincial dish into a soulful viand, the kind that evoked not only gratification upon one's tastebud, but a sense of homesickness upon one's fëa. The latter especially he had sought to recreate and yet to succeed.
As for the movie bearing the same name as his childhood sweetheart of a dish, indeed he bore no recognition toward it though not so much as particular disapproval as it was out of his pastime. The enjoyment of movies alike had always been more reserved for Dante, and Vergil would only join on occasions if his brother asked for his participation specifically. Otherwise he was content to spend his spare time and evenings immersing in his books with tea and a long soak on the side.
Then, as though his demoiselle somehow divined his train of thoughts toward his brother...
Pizza Fridays.
Pizza Fridays.
Pizza Fridays.
The two words were cawed repeatedly in his mind, sounding suspiciously too familiar with the aviary personification of his past nightmare.
Pizza Fridays.
Impulsively Vergil's eyes flicked over the tip of Ink's hood to descry the calendar located conveniently on the wall beyond, which showed the date and day they were currently upon: Thursday.
Relief surged within him. 𝘛𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘪𝘧 𝘐 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘶𝘱𝘰𝘯 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢 𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦… 𝘌𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘶𝘱𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦.
"What tops them over...I guess is pizza and rice bowls."
But not thoroughly so, unfortunately.
𝘚𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘋𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘧 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘺.
A chill ran over his spine forthwith as he couldn't but envision a portentous fellowship between brother and his demoiselle, planted and cultivated upon their shared ardor over the culinary villain that was pizza. The thought of the chaotic pizza energy that might potentially be unleashed should such a day ever be upon him...
The cambion reached toward the teapot and poured for himself a generous amount of Blueberry tea, attempting to tea away such an ominous vision as well as the unflagging aroma of pizza that clung insistently upon his memory as though it was still there right under his nose. It wasn't until a considerable sip thereafter that he finally responded to Ink's explanation over her perception of what her favorite food entailed. Meanwhile he couldn't but foresee an incoming need of a tea refill.
“Your palate is oft influenced with a particular emotional state or juncture that would make a certain food more appealing. With the exception of the latter two,” The corner of his lips twitched and his voice took upon a constrained tone of judge announcing a verdict based upon fact despite his dislike. “–whereof you enjoy notwithstanding the occasion.” He refused to say pizza in particular when referring to the latter two, deeming he had exhausted his quota of that word for the day.
“Whilst my palate finds inclination toward French cuisine ofttimes, I share your appreciation for diversity in my plate now and then,” Vergil continued, intent upon banishing the thought of pizza by minding other manner of food. “Japanese cuisine in particular. Their culinary culture arrays myriad delicacies wherein each reflects an assiduous discipline throughout the cookery process, from procurement of ingredients until the dish is served upon the table.” There was a reverential lilt in his tone that denoted the deep respect he always holds toward that certain civilization.
#rp#ic#vischys#vaninkthedragon#from what I seen..poor Vergil has to eat pizza again tomorrow! XD. The repeat of Pizza Fridays made me giggle so badly.#So no worries! I love when Vergil has to check the calendar! It's like 'oh shit. here we go again.'#That said! Good thing Ink likes Japanese food! Her favorite donburi is Gyudon with the addition of grilled eel as request.#I guess Vergil has that one point over Dante because of that.#also I drop in a OC name from other fraction in NYC

hey I got bored at work and made a KH Cafe ‘Menu’ but entirely Org13 themed some are suppose to be the ‘main’ things while the others are me panicking and like “WELL, SHIT,” throwing ideas out against the wall
all for funsies cause im fully aware these won’t look cute on a plate, but hey. it’s the org. they’re the edgy emo kids.
Xemnas:
Meal: Hayashi rice with pickled ginger on the side and the cream swirl. The rice is dyed yellow and in the molded to the shape of a heart. Complimentary clear red chopsticks come with the meal. Drink: Shaken espresso served in a martini glass. Lightly flavored with vanilla and a cinnamon sugar lip Dessert: Affogato with vanilla ice cream, cinnamon sugar dusting, and shaved chocolate. An acrylic of his weapon (however hard it is to make two laser swords look cool) comes laying against the serving plate.
Xigbar:
Meal: Pumpernickel, cream cheese, and salmon half-sandwich. Side of a spicy cucumber salad and toothpick skewered tomatoes. The acrylic of the arrow gun is attached to a toothpick, which is holding the sandwich closed. Drink: Black peppercorn infused blackberry syrup with club soda. Served not stirred for layering effect. Comes with an acrylic of his arrowgun attached to the stir-stick Dessert: Two slices of roll cake, chocolate outside with an anko cream filling. Plated so they're half laying on each other with a thick chocolate drizzle going across the left side of both cakes. The plate is dotted with whipped cream with a fanned strawberry leaning against it.
Xaldin:
Meal: Chicken omurice with three strips of seaweed across the egg. Comes with three mixed skewered vegetables on a small bed of lettuce. Drink: A delicately layered drink with blackberry puree at the base, a rose jelly and syrup layer, and carefully topped with soymilk. Stirring with the provided berry skewer on a themed Xaldin lance stick will blend the flavors. Dessert: A single slice of a dense chocolate cake with edible, dried rose petals. It’s more of a torte than a true ‘cake’, and has three blackberry glaze drizzle stripes across the slice.
Vexen:
Meal: A small bowl of cold cucumber soup with four cream cheese tea sandwiches. Each tea sandwich has two to three small heart-cut pink radish across the top. Drink: Blue cream soda carefully layered to fade to clear on top. It’s topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and some white snowflake shaped sprinkles. Dessert: Two scoops of coconut flavored ice cream dressed up with whipped cream and coconut shavings. The ice cream balls have a stripe of strawberry preserve and a few dots of mango to pose as buttons to theme it like a snowman. An acrylic standee of his Snowman shield is stuck in the whipped cream
Lexaeus:
Meal: Curry plate with chicken katsu cutlet. Instead of laying on a bed of rice, the chicken lays against side vegetables with the rice is shaped into a mound, placed center of the curry. An acrylic image of Lexaeus's skysplitter is placed into the rice, handle sticking up. Drink: Hot orange spice tea. Nothing too special, but there is a slice of orange pressed to the bottom of the shallow cup that can be eaten after, if you’re in to warm fruit. Dessert: A caramel cake baked in a rock shaped mold. It sits on a bed of five banana slices and drizzled with caramel sauce. A few dark brown and orange candy chocolate rocks are also scattered around the base.
Zexion:
Meal: An open face sandwich on toast, layered with lettuce, cheese, and ham. The top of the ham is decorated with the Organization's logo in mayonnaise. Comes with leafy side salad and fruit. Drink: Blueberry fruit syrup layered with club soda and edible pearl powder to give the drink an illusionist shimmer. Topped with just enough cream to reach the top of the glass and a dusting of dried blueberry powder. Dessert: Six small shortbread cookies decorated in icing fondant to look like the cover of his book. Served with dipping chocolate. Comes with an acrylic souvenir of his book.
Saix:
Meal: Hamburg steak plate with a decorative X shape of mayo across the sauced top, served on a small bed of rice. Comes with a side salad of mixed vegetables and crescent moons of baked kabocha squash. An acrylic of the Claymore is pressed into the center of the steak as if it was slammed in. Drink: Lavender syrup mixed with American lemonade only until the drink resembles a light grey color rather than a heavy lean into yellow or purple. Decorated with a lemon slice cut to resemble a moon. Dessert: Dome mousse cake with a deep blue finish. The mousse is lightly lemon flavored with a center of blueberry jam, and resting upon a vanilla cake base. The cake is decorated with a fondant crescent moon and a dusted golden X. Comes with a candied lemon wedge.
Axel:
Meal: A slice of pepperoni pizza, piled high with small cupping pepperoni, and dusted with chili flake. A side of a tossed, leafy salad is provided to help cut through the heat. A chakram acrylic comes attached to the salad, skewering a tomato wedge. Drink: Tomato juice and beet juice layered together to make a light gradient-- heavier on the tomato than the beet. Top is sprinkled with cayenne for a little bit of an added kick. Decorate with a small celery leaf. Dessert: A blood orange flavored cake, square cut and layered into three small tiers with raw edge sides. The top is sugar crusted and crisped in a brulee, with a sun fondant decoration wedged into a few peaks of cream. A twist of candied orange is also placed as decoration
Demyx:
Meal: Small dish of seafood doria with a side of green vegetable to cut through the heavy dish. No broccoli is in the doria itself, and is instead decorating the side leafy salad. An acrylic of his sitar is laid across the salad. Drink: A tall glass with a clear, bubbly ramune flavored soda. Blue soda-candy jelly is at the base. It’s served cream soda style, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream balanced at the top and a long blue straw. Dessert: A raindrop cake with a soft blue-green gradient. The top is dusted with kinako powder. For how simple the dish is, it comes with a side of seasonal fruit and a plastic spork styled at the top to resemble his sitar's handle that you can take home.
Luxord:
Meal: Caprese bites on a bed of lettuce. The cheese and basil base remains the same for each, but the cherry tomato on top varies between a bright red tomato or a dark purple skinned tomato. The salad has a balsamic drizzle and card suits cut vegetables. Drink: An espresso served with a small container of cream and two sugar cubes, chocolate-dotted to be dice. Dessert: Chocolate lava cake with a deep red filling, dusted with powdered sugar. It's served alongside thin cookies decorated into playing cards. It can be turned into a meal set with the drink option.
Marluxia:
Meal: Salad full of mixed greens and colorful radish. Designed to be incredibly colorful, it’s got a few little blooms of edible flowers wedged around the plate. Comes with a few flower shaped breaded chicken ‘nuggets’ along the rim. Drink: Rose syrup infused sparkling lemon soda, decorated with dried rose petals. There’s the smallest bit of strawberry syrup at the bottom of the cup to really make a pink color. A wedge of lemon decorates the rim. Dessert: A thin, crisp almost crepelike shell in a low dish holds mixed berries, mint, and thick soft chunks of pound cake. The whole thing is drizzled with a sweet rose syrup. An acrylic of his scythe hangs out among the cake bits.
Larxene:
Meal: Two skewers of karaage laying on a bed of cabbage with tartar sauce and two wedges of lemon. The other side of the plate has fries with a bit of mustard drizzled across the tips. Drink: Layered cream soda, blue syrup at the bottom that fades into a pale yellow. It's topped with whipped cream and comes with sour popping candy meant to be mixed into the drink to activate the light carbonation. Comes with an acrylic charm of one of her daggers. Dessert: Shaved ice with yuzu and orange drizzle. It’s a stretch to include it under the Larxene umbrella, but the sour notes should bring forth thoughts of lightning and shocks.
Roxas & Xion:
Meal: Roxas and Xion share the same half sandwich, as if it was once part of a whole sandwich and split into two meal plates. They differ in that Xion gets a side leafy salad with radish and carrot, and Roxas gets french fries. [ and then i gave up makin them desserts & drinks, since they have the seasalt milk ‘drink’ at the actual cafe ]

hi <3 I wanna know what ur go to meals r! I eat the same b l and d everyday and need some inspo
For breakfast, i usually eat something light and easy like yogurt (balkan yogurt is my favourite btw!!!) with maple syrup and i add seeds and granola to it! Oatmeal is also very good and like yogurt you can add whatever topping you want! And then on days i don't work i go for heavier and more labour intensive meals like omelettes and pancakes and bruleed french toast or remake what left over i have for brunch put it on fried rice add some egg! And then just eat it w whatever fruit i have!!!
And then for lunch i just have whatever they serve at work, i usually get sandwich and very good soup like the best soup of your life soup and you can do this too like i find esp with soup making all you need is a really good stock to save you and whatever vegetable and meat you want to add to your soup and then you can switch it up everyday, just invest on having good stock at home and you're set with soup making! and then when i'm on my day off i like making simple cucumber and sprout banchans and i have that with kimchi/tofu soup or kimchi fried rice! It's important to have a tub of kimchi in ur fridge i think, you can do so much with it - soup, fried rice, pancakes, omelette, on its own as a side, add to ramen etc... and then a couple of days ago i had tomato poached fish yummy, i also like making tempura bc all you really need is the batter and you can tempura whatever veggie you have! And like i said!!! If all else fails!!! Just make a soup!!! Like what i do sometimes is grab my left over veggies and usually it's just carrots and some cabbages and maybe potatoes and i soup them together and then i add dry beans if i have some and let the stock do the work and i'm saved and i have that w bread or whatever carb i have!
I go all out on dinner bc i have the most prep time for that! So that's when i make pasta and my go to sauce base is just butter and lemon zest and pepper and lots of garlic and whatever herb i have mixed w the pasta water and parm cheese to make that a lil creamier! I also like making japanese curry during colder days and i make katsu to go with it - bc u can make katsu out of everything just stock up on panko - so for me it's usually eggplant or tofu katsu or if i don't have that i just make tamagoyaki! I like making braised pork belly too, very easy! And then sometimes i make chicken adobo - this is very good if u live alone bc it has long shelf life, just refrigerate it and it gets better the longer it stays in the fridge bc ur protein absorbs the flavour it gets from the vinegar and soy sauce so like u can survive off of it for daysss! I also like making karaage out of broccoli or cauliflower! Miso soup w udon and i eat that w fried tofu!
I think the key to making your meals interesting is to have a really good pantry/fridge full of versatile ingredients so like i said keep a good stock around bc you can turn that into stews or soups or put in ur gravy or what have you, kimchi, panko bread crumbs, eggs always eggs, msg so that u get that boost of flavour, butter to make everything u cook taste decadent etc... like the way i cook, i try to revolve my meals around the ingredients i have on my pantry/fridge and see where it takes me and you can just be as creative as you want! Pretend ur in cut throat kitchen or something!!! Have fun!!! Eat well!!!!!!
