still supporting local coffee roasters... this time, from one of the country's top specialty coffee exporter, @kalsadacoffee . it's kinda weird actually that while i've seen their beans abroad (in singapore), this is the first time i've purchased their beans. 😊 coffee notes: so it's easy to see why kalsada's on top of their game 'coz this is lovely. the initial pour gave off a subtle wheaty aroma, producing a cup with caramrl and grape/prune notes that was quite sweet, bright, and pleasantly juicy. the cup the ends with a rather silky finish that lingers for a bit. very nice. 🙂 This Week's Local Beans: Garnica (Washed), Sitio Belis, Atok, Benguet, Philippines from @kalsadacoffee https://www.instagram.com/p/CA8_sGYHqoW/?igshid=vcuqhk5rem20

As part of the ESCOLTA BLOCK PARTY this weekend, #VivaManila is bringing back the “Love Parade: Making the Invisible City Visible”, this will be a performance art project by Carlos Celdran which hopes to visually articulate a sense of place for Escolta itself and nearby locales like Binondo and Quiapo. He will be placing a special focus on specific heritage buildings like First United Building, Calvo Building, and the stunning El Hogar by the Pasig River.

So through the use of collaborative performance, we hope to do this tour with YOUR help. Join us and let’s walk around the neighborhood, check out spots, take photos, collect souvenirs, and stick tiny little hearts all over this city. If you wish to do cosplay for this tour, do your own performance project, or just freely express how much you love yourself and your city - please do!

The more stuff we try to pull off, the better. Feel free to join me at HUB: Make Lab after the tour to party and chat.
