Here’s my first fic for @kakasaku-week-2023 (you do not have to be familiar with the main story of the Yakuza! series to enjoy this oneshot which takes place years later). It’s a modern AU in which Kakashi and Sakura are in the Japanese mafia:

Kill for Me

Summary: “What–” Kakashi pauses, pressing his lips together, looking hesitant to go on. “What changed things?”

Sakura sits up, propping her elbow on the pillow as she holds Kakashi’s gaze. “You killed them for me, Kakashi. Without a second thought.”

“Of course. You’re one of my kobun.”

“Hai.”

“I’d die before I let anything happen to you, Sakura.”

Sakura reaches forward, stroking the wet, matted strands off Kakashi’s dewy forehead. “Don’t die for me, oyabun. Killing for me is enough.”
