Infected - Asian-American Autistic ADHD aroace (😈) trans. Yknow Wybie from Coraline? Yea like that but like incredibly annoying. His voice sounds like it’s coming from a shitty mic all the time

Lampert (design by @lucid-daydreaming-art )- Autistic 🇸🇪 ja aroace (😈) funny lamp guy Robots-esque probably kinda talks like baymax honestly, I mean a bit different but yknow, the general idea

Poob - I think they are a dumb little critter. They run around and their arms flail in the wind like paper. When they try to clap is makes dog toy squeaking sounds. I don’t think they abide by the rules of physics which is why they are stupid looking ❤️ they have hammer space but it is only for weed related items. The curator of the forever weed brownie, if you will. I think they sound like X from bfb. Aroace (😈)

Pest - literally hates poob because they are small and annoying. Uhhh funky legs because I think he would have funky legs. I stole his eyes because well no real reason, but I think if he was like extra pissed you would see his eyes. Since he is like thief maxxing I do not think he would be wearing anything beyond a hoodie and sweatpants, something trying to be non-assuming I guess. He has hair I think but it is very short no way would he want to deal with that. I don’t have a voice hc for him yet. Aroace (😈)

Bive - she a freakkkkk ehhh. I think she is like freakishly tall, has funny bird legs, raggedy ass scrawny tail, and is constantly covered in hair. Her teeth are kinda just floating on her hair head, so if you punched her hard enough they would just go flying out and she would have to put them back into her head silly girl. I think she is also trans hahaahhahahahaha!!! I think she kinda sounds like ENA from dream bbq, the uhh angry side I believe. Ace (😈)

Split - I gave her dog ears because I think they are cute :) she’s probably like normal ish height Bive is just weirdly tall. She looks very nice and friendly but could probably throw a boulder at you and you will die sowyyyy. Gods most chillaxxed soldier. She gives me kind older lady feelings, even if she weren’t older. I dunno she would be like one of those people who have a comically large purse full of hard candy except it would all be banana flavored. I think she has a slower voice, HAVENT gotten an exact idea for her voice yet but she seems very calm. Ace (😈)

Pilby - I didn’t really add or change their design because I already liked it a lot. I think they are very sweet and kind looking, would make a great plush too but I guess we are not ready to talk about that (YES I am still bitter about it) I think being around them is akin to looking outside a window at an apple orchard while it’s raining a bit. I think they sound a bit like raggedy Anne, based on the creators response too. Aroace (😈)

Spud! - I honestly did not have much come to me for his design, they are just a bit of a funky feller and im not sure how I would add to it honestly. Oh but I do think that they run like an ostrich and it is very scary. Also while drawing I was debating why he had a bow and decided that Gnarpy was like CONGRATZ IN ZURVIVING THE TEZTZ and now Spud! Just has a stupid little yuor did it ribbon. Honestly no clue for voice hc… aroace (😈)

Gnarpy - had a lot of fun with xis design honestly. The redesign reminded me a lot of Stitch so I kinda just shoved that into xim. I think they act a lot like Zim. Like a lot. Probably equally as stupid. I think xis second arms are retractable, like stitch, and xe uses that as a very very shitty disguise that everyone can see right through but just don’t mention because xe seems to be having a good time. I think xe sounds like Four from BFB (the earlier episodes mostly) aroace (😈)

DRRETRO - I think that her head that we see in the game is like a projection of herself, Wagstaff Don’t Starve style. Her body would be like excruciatingly normal besides her head, too. Like go to the hospital and see a nurse, that’s just what she looks like. Very normal, it’s a bit unnerving since her head is that. She’s like those overly friendly posters in a very uncomfortable place type of feeling. She doesn’t have fur either, she’s just a weird cat doctor thing. She acts exactly like Doctor Barber from Flapjack. No voice hc, but she speaks in meows so probably just meowing. Aroace (😈)

Mark - I started thinking about tf2 and Anton blast. Anyway, he is completely made from wood other than the clothes. Beard is carved in, not sure if I got that across in the drawing though. Uh yea I don’t have much I just really like engineer. He wears flannel and a construction vest just like any good law avoiding construction worker. Definitely does not so legal things on his construction sites but does not give two shits about that and also probably would try to employ Lampert when he was younger for free workers (no im not projecting what are you talking about). How on the nose would it be to say he sounds like engineer because I just drew wooden engineer with a beard. Ace (😈)

Wallter - sorry wallter fans I had no ideas while drawing him. I dunno he’s big and he’s cement, so I kept him blocky. Urrrrr he has a can of grey stuff jingle jingle. He is the cement embodiment of that one tweet that’s like “nothing better than a glass of wine, except for maybe #men. #yep #imgay! He kinda seems like one of those lowkey scary bald gay guys who are nice but are also scary and still bald. He’s bald. No idea on voice maybe concrete sliding on asphalt for 10 hours. Ace (😈)

✨Damian Wayne Headcanons pt 3✨

Okay last part I promise-

Damian walks his dog every morning and every night. A stroll around Gotham, Bruce knows Damian has the training to defend himself. Thing is… Damian got comfortable with his routine so he isn’t as alert as he used to. He got kidnapped one time and the way they found out wasn’t with a ransom call. It was Titus that ran back home and barked at the door until someone opened. They eventually found him looking unamused and bored out of his mind. Needless to say the kidnappers didn’t walk out without a scratch. They may or may not have gotten a broken arm. Damian thinks this is overkill but whatever. Now someone walks with him when he walks Titus until Bruce gains enough trust in Gotham to take care of his son.

There are moments where he gets an art block and he gets so frustrated when that happens. Anything he draws will be torn up and just cry probably. He will walk up to someone who isn’t busy so they can give him ideas on what to draw. Usually it’s Jason cause he’ll give him book characters to draw based on the description and it’s fun to draw them while Jason reads. Sometimes it doesn’t work and Jason takes him somewhere so he can take a break and calm down.

Jason is such a good brother to him and they met in the league. I will die on this hill

Jason was one of Damian’s trainers in the league. He only took on this job so he could take care of Damian while he was little and he wouldn’t train him that hard. But it didn’t work because Ra’s found out and replaced him. Jason begged for his job back and had to be harsher in order to keep it. He’d make it look like it was rough but it wasn’t that bad as the other trainers. He still had to hurt Damian and the cries is a sound that still haunts him to this day. So that’s why if he can make Damian laugh or something that isn’t crying, he will gladly do it.

Damian probably got branded and when the others found out they got sooooo mad. Damian is just confused because he thought that everyone had one to show what family they belong to.

He also believes that he is expandable. He was raised to give his life for the mission and Bruce didn’t really… teach that out of him. So any dangerous mission comes up that could possibly end with suicide he will volunteer. The others can try and talk it out of him but like it doesn’t really work. He fully believes that it’s okay for him to die in order for the mission to be successful.

dahyun has ocd and it usually presents itself in checking and intrusive thoughts

sometimes even if she's early to get somewhere, she'll still be late because she spent 10 minutes checking and rechecking that she turned all the lights off and unplugged anything dangerous

even though they're quite annoying and make her brain hurt, sometimes she has funny intrusive thoughts like "what if i just ate a whole bag of cheese" until she ate a little bit of cheese

most of the time her intrusive thoughts aren't as friendly. she tells momo since her brain has justified that she’s the most trustworthy — all the girls are trustworthy but her brain is just picking momo — and so momo tells her that (for example) touching the burning hot stove really isn't good and it would hurt a lot

dahyun can have very hard days to get through when her checking and intrusive thoughts overlap. it could be something like if she doesn't check if the stove is off (despite not using it the whole day) then her whole family will get hurt

the members are all really patient with dahyun if they need to leave somewhere but dahyun has to go back and check things a few times. they've learned to add in extra time just so dahyun can comfortably check things

nd!chaeyoung

chaeyoung has add and although she really really struggled with it when she was little, she does a lot better with it now, especially since her members are all really patient with her and always willing to help her

she worries a lot about what people think of her and her unnies have to remind her that she's lovely in every way. sometimes all it takes is a little pep talk and she's feeling better, but sometimes a member sits with her and just holds her until she feels okay

she loves making her art, but since the v live whenever they were first starting out, she still feels a little self conscious of it. she's afraid that people won't like it or think that she's not a fun person

even though they can be complete opposites, nayeon is chaeyoung's favorite to talk to whenever she's having a hard day. she thinks her unnie listens really well and always offers really good advice and good hugs

whenever she's stressed out, it's really hard for chaeyoung to focus on anything. practice is especially hard. her unnies are there for her though to gently encourage her so she can make it through a whole song before taking a break

she has trouble focusing on little details with the dances, but after a few on the side lessons with momo, she slowly makes it through them. with her art though, she's able to add in fine details even if she can only draw for a few minutes before moving on to the next thing

nd!tzuyu (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)

tzuyu is autistic! and she also absolutely adores her mamas nayeon and jeongyeon when she's little (she loves them when she's big as well)

tzuyu is like a little puppy who needs a little extra special care. she can be very talkative and happy about her special interests but gets overwhelmed really easily

whenever she's in front of cameras, she's not very talkative because she's afraid she's going to mess up and embarrass herself and this usually leads to a meltdown because she overthinks

tzuyu loves soft things. her blanket, her sutffed puppy Poppy, and especially her weighted blanket. whenever she's big, tzuyu uses a 20 pound weighted blanket. whenever she's little she only uses a 10 pound weighted blanket because her mamas want to make sure the pressure and weight isn't too much

her special interests are dogs, bread, and pokémon! she could go on for hours about dogs especially if you let her because they're cute and soft and cool and... just perfect

her meltdowns range from mild to severe. if it's a mild one, it's fairly easy for any of the members to help her calm down. if her meltdown is more severe and she's hurting herself by hitting her head on the floor or biting herself, 2yeon have to step in

little autistic!tzuyu absolutely adores her mamas. they always love and cuddle her and make her feel safe. they call her sweet names and even though she's not supposed to, jeongyeon gives her ice cream before bed (an extra one for tzu because she has a special place in my heart)

Are you named after anyone? I've heard this story a buncha times so I'm pretty sure my mom got my birth name from a singer. She heard it on tv and liked it a lot, back then it wasn't a very common name in my country. My names as of now are 50/50, Tom didn't come from anyone but Teddie was 100% something I picked up from Teddie p4, hahah.

When was the last time you cried? Last Sunday when I rewatched ep 11 of Bucchigiri. especially during the part where Zabu got the absolute shit beaten out of him. Finn came home right after that and doesn't understand that one of the big points of media is to reach you emotionally, so he thought it was weird that I was crying.

Do you have kids? Nah, but I'd like to some day, if fate allows it.

Do you use sarcasm a lot? Not nearly as much as I used to, because most of my friends are autistic and don't get it most of the time, so I just end up upsetting them whenever I do use it. Being sincere is much more fun anyways.

What sports do you play? None, but I would love to swim or ice skate (or, hell, do some skiing). Neither are really possible for me atm, unfortunately (do you have any idea how expensive skiing is btw. it's crazy). When I was a kid I did gymnastics and streetdance, I also played tennis briefly as a teen, but had to quit due to a lack of people in my age group playing at that club.

What’s the first thing you notice about people? I usually take note of how someone dresses and does their hair. Ever notice how dull most people's clothes are? I like seeing styles that stand out.

What’s your eye colour? Brown, it's not a particularly dark shade, but I wouldn't call it hazel (my dad has hazel eyes though).

Scary movies or happy endings? This ones a little... vague? But I guess if I had to choose... I wouldn't. I don't care about genre or what type of emotional impact it has, as long as it's coherent and entertaining in its own right. (That doesn't mean I don't care about quality btw. I literally just. watch anything and judge it for what it is.)

Any special talents? I'm a boss at packing in groceries quickly and efficiently. Not a talent that everyone possesses, I've learned (sorry Minke <3).

Where were you born? Netherlands babeyyy ✌ North-Holland to be a bit more precise. I lived next to a dyke (not that kind) so I got the real under-sea-level experience. I still live around the area but not in my hometown anymore.

What are your hobbies? Drawing, (writing?), translation and the nuances that come with it, watching movies, tv shows, animes, cartoons, playing video games, reading books, comics and manga. (and then talking about cinematography, parallels, themes, symbolism and the likes) I also collect soda cans (+ the occasional glass bottle), candy packaging, and anime figurines + other merch.

Do you have any pets? My little baby Jody (dog) who I've had since I was 7 years old! She's about to have her sweet 16 on the 23rd (that's in 2 weeks!) she's getting blind and deaf as hell but she's still lively and sweet as ever <3 And my sweet Tiger of course, who's of undetermined age (around 8/9 the vet said) and currently living with my good friend Minke and their 2 other cats (he does not like them) and dog (he is ok with her). He's not with me rn because my mom's bf is allergic, unfortunately.

How tall are you? 1 meter 59. that single centimeter haunts me. I would've also preferred an additional 10 as well.

Favourite subject in school? Art history used to my favourite in high school, and when I was in film school for a brief period I loved film history. I just love anything pertaining to the arts and it's history that involves analysing and comparing it to other time periods, really.

Dream job? I wanna be someone's househusband and make a buncha weird art on the side. Not kidding btw. But if I had to choose a more conventional dream job... it had to be something in the creative or design industry, otherwise I'll probably die of unhappiness.

1. are you named after anyone? I named myself after Clay from the Wings of Fire book series :) I started going by Clay a little over three years ago, I think? When I was thinking about changing my name, I knew I wanted it to be after a character that was really important to me, and Clay checked all the boxes. I think he was the first character I ever looked at for real and went "wow he is so me" LMAO. he's also where my username comes from, too...

2. when was the last time you cried? i want to say it was listening to dndads or taz but i think the real answer is in the middle of finals week after an INCREDIBLY cathartic phone call with my mom

15. what is your dream job? i would LOVE to eventually be in some kind of writers' room one day. playing & running D&D games has opened my eyes to just how much I adore storytelling with collaborative aspects. being able to just...make something with other writers...building off of each others' ideas...getting excited about it together... it feels so magical to me.

My opinions on Jotaro

Disclaimer: This includes critique of Jotaro Kujo! Some of these takes are nuclear level unpopular. I don’t hate Jotaro, but some aspects of his character and the way fandom treats him drive me up the fucking wall. Sometimes media lands with people differently and people have different opinions.

1. Hates women. He is probably overstimulated in some of the scenes he yells at women, but if you look, he never reacts that way when his teammates in SDC are loud. He specifically states that he hates loud women. The first time we see him yelling at a group of girls in the anime, he’s actually walking away while they’re distracted bickering behind him. If it were just about being overstimulated and not some vitriol towards women, he could’ve kept walking and left the stimulus instead of turning around to yell at them imo.

At first I was like ok he’s 17 maybe he’ll be better when he’s an adult. Then in DiU he yells at a group of teenage girls who are fawning over Josuke.

Like he’s an adult here yelling at teenagers because…he’s specifically annoyed when women are noisy. Even if that weren’t gross, it’s on him to develop some coping skills at this point.

I dont like how a lot of ppl in fandom seem to think this is funny or just write it off. It’s ok to acknowledge a characters shitty behavior and still like them.

And THEN

In that same part we see him being incredibly kind and caring to Josuke and Koichi. Which shows he’s grown a lot and has the capacity to be compassionate and respectful. But…that just doesn’t extend to women? Which to me is a huge huge bummer :/

The only woman we actually see him being nice to (like having kind interactions with) is Jolyne, his daughter.

2. Fatherhood. Jotaro is not an ideal dad and I love that tbh. I think it’s good writing.

But he left his daughter to protect her!

Ok well that didn’t work and she still got the abandonment trauma anyway, so now what?And why is it always “I leave my weak wife and daughter to protect them” and not “I train my wife and daughter so we can all protect each other”? Why is it assumed that women wouldn’t be able to handle that? It’s misogyny that it’s never considered as a possibility imo, and is a problem with the writing not just Jotaro.

For fucks sake a dog, rat, baby, bird, and money were all able to handle having a stand but Jotaro’s mom wasn’t?

The fact is he (we’re assuming) chose to have a kid and then abandoned her. It’s not ideal parenting.

But I actually love how he’s written as a dad! I think it’s realistic that he would struggle to have a good relationship with his wife and daughter. He had an absent father, is extremely traumatized, struggles communicating, and apparently has a not great relationship to women in general.

His divorce and estrangement from his daughter are realistic consequences to some of his flaws.

3. But he’s modeled after Clint Eastwood!

-Things I like about Jotaro

1. Autistic coded. He thinks that his emotions show on his face, which is…dear. They do Not. Niche interests. Sensory issues. Cool autistic vibe

2. He’s very smart and that makes it fun to watch his fights.

3. Corny sometimes

4. Kind to his nephew and his friends. Like genuinely. Learns how to express compassion (as opposed to holding it inside and calling his mom a bitch)

5. Eventually came around and repaired his relationship with Jolyne, and expressed that he cares.

6. Strongk . I❤️start platinum.

I think he’s OP and that some of his powers are asspulls. However, I usually don’t mind this because I want them to win lmao! Also I’m amused by some other asspulls in Jojos, so I can’t draw the line here.

Conclusion:

I kinda like him. wish he would be kind to women. Until then, I kinda want him to get jumped.

Are you staying home from school/work?

Yes. I’m pretty home-bound, so it’s not much of a change. But it’s more complete now. No outings, no gaming nights, no shopping. I do go out to play Pokemon Go (yes, I’m lame, I still play) so that I see something other than 3 grey and 1 purple wall.

If you’re staying home, who is there with you?

My angsty x-box-addicted 18yo son. He takes care of our chicken flock and the rest of our zoo. He’s got a wickedly quick wit and is a talented artist who draws in a manga style

My 16yo autistic daughter, who is kind and loves animals like crazy. But is as lazy as the day is long like a typical teenager. But when she’s bored she’ll go into her room to sing quietly because she’s embarrassed to do it, but I can hear her from my room. She has the most beautiful voice. I don’t tell her I can hear her because I never want her to stop singing.

My ex wife and mom of the kids. We had a complicated relationship for 15 years (duh, I’m very gay) but came out of the divorce friends still. About five years ago, Katie was having very violent behavior problems and I needed help with her, so she moved into our spare room. She still has to work outside the home, so we worry about covid exposure a lot.

We have pets. There are the chickens -- 6 indoor bantam silkies (the 2 boys Ruby-roo, Danny Partridge, and the 4 hens S.W.A.N. [silkie without a name], Blue, Onyx, and Silver [who is the runt and lays the teeniest eggs!] and 6 outdoor darlings: Eggsy and Darkness [ameraucana], Yuki [Hampshire red], Pandora [silverlaced wyandotte], Elvira [black australorpe who is SO SOFT], and Emu our giant brahma rooster. The label when we bought him said ameraucana hen. NOPE. GIANT FUCKING ROOSTER! Who is an absolute sweetie and has the tiniest little crows of our 3 roos.

There are the budgies Kiki and Dot. My son has a bearded dragon named Loki. Then we have 2 fish tanks converted for mixed reptiles & amphibians. We have a toad and a tree frog, three anoles, a little gecko and a salamander. And that’s it. For now. Alex wants a snake. I want a dog. We’ll see.

Are you a homebody?

I’ve always been ‘anti-social’. Gimme a computer and I’m good. A long time ago, I’d’a said, gimme a typewriter. I gotta be able to write.

An event that you were looking forward to that got cancelled?

I love going to the monthly Gaymer’s gathering at the LGBT center with my family, who all fall into the LGBT categories. Miss that a lot. Also the monthly CAH game at the local gamer bar. A few other gaming events.

What movies have you watched recently?

Well, there’s the continual comfort-watching of the MCU. Rewatched Toby Maguire’s first Spider-Man. Zombieland. I Am Legend, Enemy of the State, and Leon/The Professional.

What shows are you watching?

Just finished Ragnarok, Picard, the first season of Jericho, Ozark, Lost In Space (of course I watched that. There’s a pet chicken!) Tried watching The Witcher, couldn’t get past the horrible wig, stopped after 1 episode. Currently watching s3 of The Man In The High Castle. Bored af looking for a new show to watch.

What music are you listening?

Romantic era classical piano music. A bit of bel canto opera. Legendary Pink Dots and Tear Garden, Random goth/industrial stuff.

Fics are my usual reading. But I’m reading ‘Filthy Shakespeare’ as my current book.

What are you doing for self-care?

Taking my meds so my writer’s block stays far, far away.

Any big projects you’re working on?

Writing the Messages Series. Trying to get the mojo back to write the one remaining chapter of An Accord that isn’t finished, the 2nd to last one. RPing a lot, which is massively fun, creative, and detailed, but prevents the writing much. Need more self-discipline to make me do both. 

Plans for when the quarantine is over?

Go back to the gamers’ meet-ups. They were pretty much my only ‘get out of the house’ things. Visit my mom and step-dad. We can’t go see them because mom has COPD and my dad has lung cancer. So since my ex-wife is still out there working and exposed, we can’t risk exposing them.

Are you named after anyone?

No, actually. I think my parents just liked the name.

2. When was the last time you cried?

The last time was over a sad news story, but I'm not certain what it was or how long ago. Might have been about the fire in Maui.

3. Do you have kids?

Just the four-legged kind (yeah, I'm one of those people).

4. What sports do you play/have you played?

I'm clumsy as hell and have never been good at anything involving co-ordinated activities, though I used to be an okay sprinter. My joints hate me now so all I can do is walk these days, and that's what I do nearly every day.

5. Do you use sarcasm?

It's just one of many services I offer.

6. What's the first thing you notice about people?

Anything notable except the eyes. Unfortunately when I'm really stressed in social interactions I tend to not notice much or anything at all, basically putting all my cognitive resources into not being rude or acting like a complete social idiot. When less stressed, I'll focus on anything visually distinctive about them + their voice to remember them in the future. My facial recognition skills aren't great, and it's so embarrassing when I run into a casual acquaintance and they know who I am but I don't recognize them at all. Or I recognize their voice when they speak, but look rude for not acknowledging them earlier.

7. What's your eye color?

Green, probably -- one eye is slightly more brown so I was wondering if they might be considered hazel, but I think they're overall more green than hazel.

8. Scary movies or happy endings?

Happy endings for sure, as I'm a huge wuss who can't take scary. Makes me anxious and rattled for a long time afterward.

9. Any talents?

Hopefully I've got decent writing skills. My best talents are probably a good memory and a stupid dogged persistence which have served well in my hobbies but are often a hindrance in everyday social interactions.

Comics, obviously, and I'm hardcore into genealogy these days. I like writing fic when I've got the inspiration/motivation (that's been rare these past few years), and enjoy thrifting, tea, photography, and minerals.

One cat, who is pure trouble. We found her last year while out for our daily walk, and she followed us more than a kilometre home despite a pronounced limp. Turns out she had an abscess on her hip, and once treated she regained her ability to jump and walk normally.

im fairly open-minded and laid back. Unless someones being like, purposely nasty or something I generally don’t get defensive or aggressive. also a lot of little quirks that piss others off dont bother me im very u do u as long as its not actually harming anyone and ive had people tell me this makes it easier to open up to me so thats probably my best quality....

18. what is your worst quality, in your opinion?

....at the same time though i do get very sensitive when faced w/ criticism even if its of the fair variety when its not phrased really gently for various reasons and i dont like that. especially since I have a tendency to not even talk to people about it. I’ll just immediately start distancing myself. also other than that i think overall I have a really high tolerance lvl but if you cross that line I hold a grudge like a motherfucker

9. do you like cats or dogs better?

cats! dogs are good too but cats are a lot easier for me to handle...and quieter generally but even when they’re loud cat sounds dont get to me quite as much as barks do

the lack of responsibility, probably. that sounds real bad lmao but for me its like...I know I’ve grown in various ways over the years but I also feel like so many of my experiences, my trauma, my mental health has held me back and I don’t think I’m mentally where I should be for my age. so all the responsibility of adulthood is just..really overwhelming for me sometimes, even though ive been given a pass from certain aspects of it and the rest is pretty simple its the idea!!!!

i cant stand passive aggressive behavior. my stance is either get over it or quit acting like a bitch because otherwise im just going to ignore you thats the scorpio way (in all seriousness I really, really do recommend not putting up with it and ignoring it until they decide to be up front with you. it can be exhausting constantly reading into conversations and its not healthy for you or them. if they have something to say they need to learn to talk about it properly, and that lack of social skills is not ever on you)

yep! i think about....six or so? i love them...which is really funny im autistic and EVERYTHING about them should freak me out and they do in other circumstances but at a show i just live for it

probably that you have to look at your accomplishments differently when you’re disabled or just struggling, to not be so down on yourself because its a fact that what might be a mole hill to someone else is a mountain to you and you have to judge yourself accordingly. Like maybe you weren’t able to clean the whole house, but washing the dishes and tidying your desk doesn’t usually get done but you did it. That that should be celebrated because while it would also feel good if you did more, you still did something and thats great all things considered.

sometimes, really depends what im lying about and if im like....into it at all. If my guts against it for whatever reason I’ll have trouble

1. Tell me something you love about your current WIP(s).

Shifting Constellations in the grand tradition of projecting is full of Cathartic Angst TM idk Burning Stones has a character that is never actually mentioned/specifically stated to be a dog and written to make people think it’s an actual person until they make the connection and it’s also like up in the air whether it’s actually a bear. It’s fun. Mostly the reactions when I post snippets and people are like “......”

2. Three of your characters are coming with you on a road trip. who are they and why did you pick them?

Hmmmm well sticking to Star Verse OCs..... Tali, she’d be good to trade off driving and she’s used to riding shotgun and all the responsibilities and also she’s totally The Road Trip Friend. Like she lives for this shit.

Uh... I guess.... what is this road trip for? I guess maybe Lell and Kirsch. Because Lell would also be a riot. And Kirsch and Lell are like buy one get one free friends, plus he’d be a voice of reason.

All I know is @ezzelbean is horrible at riding shotgun because they just fall asleep while you’re dissociating and hallucinating and have the same cd playing three times over before realizing it.

4. How do you name your characters?

I have a few methods. I take a word that I typo and then make that their name, pick a name out of thin air that just pops into my head as “yes”, find a letter that has less characters with names that start with it than the others and figure out a name that sounds with whatever culture they’re from, if they’re related to a character modify the other character’s name for theirs if it works out that way, pick a name from the list of names that have popped into my head for later use.

5. Do your characters have any pets?

Yes.

Guri has Yarr. Fren has his birds. Kalr had a falcon. Afa has a falcon. The Green Dragon has rescue gators. Pirre has Parsnip ( a dog) and sheep. Tali has Potato (a dog). Qiv has her grassmounts. Bos has his cows. Ure has her stuffed cow moo-cow. Klim Tog has his sheep.

I’m pretty sure there are others but I can’t think of any right now. Oh, Ri has some fish in a pond. Yinn has two ship cats. Madine has some cats. Jolnde has a cat. The Tea Lady has snakes.

ALL THE TIME

7. Which of your characters would win the Most Huggable Award?

Most huggable? Den or Tali. They’re the biggest huggers and generally the most receptive to being hugged.

8. Which of your characters would win the Most Punchable Award?  

Brond or Obvis. It’s hard to pick between them, but their faces and grumpy attitude make them the most punchable person for most people.

(This is not counting the villains or generally punchable characters who don’t have names that may or may not have gotten punched.)

9. How do you decide when you’re done planning and just have to start writing?

... I’m pretty sure I start writing THEN start planning.

10. Do your characters have any odd habits?

Yeah. Like they all have their weird quirks and mannerisms and interests. Like they’re an odd bunch. Plus like idk what percentage is actually autistic and what percentage is just the result of being written by an autistic writer who gives all their characters their stims and shit as body language so yeah... I’d need questions about specific characters.

Wrote this to vent and it became much longer than planned:

So I've been feeling like shit since I was 13 cause around that time I got depression due to me ending up in a class with mostly new ppl(I had pretty much only gone to school with ppl who had known me since kindergarten until then), and at the age where me being autistic being very obvious to everyone around me and me feeling extremely othered and cut everyone off because of #fear due to social anxiety when I got singled out by my classmates, and I didn't know what was wrong with me, or that anything WAS inherently different abt me, I thought I had ADHD at age 17 and got diagnosed with that + Autism(which I didn't expect at all) right before I turned 19.

And inbetween the age of 13-17 I did a LOT of introspection to like, "solve" what I did wrong so I could get along with people again, and I realized that I fucking hated my dad and that he has raised me and my siblings to take criticism and bullying, because ever since I was little, whenever me or my siblings did something bad/wrong (cause we were KIDS lol) we were met with snide comments and made to feel bad for not knowing things, and learned to lash out and attack to "defend" ourselves because we felt that we had to, cause we were told our everything would attacked whenever anyone said anything ever. And that + RSD was NOT a good recipe for most of my life (and still affects me to this day).

I would compulsively lie because when you have ADHD you fuck up a LOT due to impulsiveness, and never learned how to back off and do things calmly cause admitting I was wrong was equal to admitting that I was worthless and would never make it on my own(my father has said this exact thing in swedish). And like, my mother never defended me and instead defended HIM by telling me that "old dogs can't learn new tricks" when I talked about how he invalidated my emotions and how he made fun of my little brother SPITTING on me and tried to play it off when he could tell I was clearly hurt because it made HIM uncomfortable to deal with.

He has clearly never actually wanted us kids and had us to make my mother happy but didn't actually think too much about actually raising us, much less that we'd be around for(at least) 20 years.

Anyways, so, my point is, I have wanted to move out for a WHILE, because my family have been terrible for my mental health and I can't stand eating with them cause I'm autistic and they are loud and it wears me out and everyone is competetive cause we were raised that way and all advice I offer to them in how to deal with their issues and what I can do to make shit easier for them is brushed off. I want to move out cause I've noticed that lately, when I am home alone with only my cat I feel as if I have SO much more free time, cooking went by fast and I felt like I had time to do everything I wanted, despite being at work 9 hours every day + transit to and from work taking roughly 1 hour itself. When I was alone I felt more comfortable to move around in the house, it's like when an option showed up, I still had issues with executive functioning and doing stuff immediately, but I did do it, and I've noticed that when the rest of the family is home, there is a 90% chance that whenver I am deciding on what to do(eat, shower, bake, draw, play video games etc) that I just end up going to my room and lying in my bed, not sleeping, but not really enjoying it either, I just, don't feel comfortable doing anything with them around, they tire me out.

So, I want to move out, but I just recently got my first job, and there is a LOT to do when caring for your own place, even if its an apartment run by.landlord, and, besides all that, I could NEVER live alone, I NEED to have at least 1 more roomate, and here's the thing: I cut off EVERYONE in highschool, I don't hang out/talk with anyone my age in Sweden. Not only that, I'm autistic, regulation deficit, bisexual and questioning my gender, and on top of all that, I am very opinionated, so to find someone who 1, is not ableist/homophobic/transphobic/racist, and 2, is very much like me in terms of morals and 3, can STAND being around me, I am going to need to be SUPER picky. And like, finding other LGBT people in Stockholm around my age alone is difficult, I've tried on social media and barely gotten anywhere, and lord knows I don't know my social places where others like me would hang out.

I've always been the black sheep of the family and I don't think my siblings don't have it hard, but they very much do not understand what it's like to have no one around IRL who you can trust completely, and they like to make fun of it. I've never told them about my neurodivergence, but at this point I would be genuinely surprised if they didn't at least expect it. The thing is, they shit on things I do because of it all the time, in front of my parents, who know I am neurodivergent, and they do nothing about it, because me defending myself is on the same level on them calling me weird for very obvious autistic traits that aren't in anyway harmful. And I do think my mom wants me to be happy, and wants to care for me, but I really do think that she also wishes I wasn't like this, and that she too would be happier if I moved out, or didn't even exist at all. This is where I start crying while writing this, ha ha ha.

Anyways, my little brother has made fun of me for being uncomfortable with him screaming ableist slurs specifically to bother me, and my sister calls me weird and annoying for not wanting to eat with the rest of the family(when they always yell and almost constantly argue), and outright said she doesn't want me to live here anymore, and I'm just. Tired. I agree with you, I don't want to be here, but you don't understand what it is like to not have anywhere to turn, you're always surrounded by friends and make sure to rub it in how weird it is for me not to be the same.

I don’t know what to do, I got a job, I got a goal, a degree I desire, and ideas as to who I want to be, what I want to do and who I want to surround myself with. I’ve tried looking, and I’m going to keep trying until I find the friends I can trust. I wrote all of this originally to quickly vent about how my little sister telling me she doesn’t want me here anymore feels like it has all come full circle in a way since I turned 13, seeing as she herself is 13 now. She’s absolutely being dramatic, I know that, but I also think she’s honest, I know she is, I think we all would be happier if I didn’t live here, but I know it wouldn’t solve the rest of the issues with this family, the way she thinks it would.

So to end it all, I posted about the hunger thing earlier today, so I guess I’ll leave something else here as well, because it made me realize how much I forget over the years. The only reason I get by is due to my OCs, I have no emotional intimacy with anyone else, but if I may say, I’m pretty good at understanding the complexity of individuals, and make up different scenarios in my head where I go through different things. Not that it can be compared to real beings, but being able to come out, handle rejection, deal with ableism, workout how to explain my desires and wants to others, have prevented me from stagnating over the years of this solitude, and I rely on them a lot, which I’m sure I’ll forget in 10 years if I’m still around by then. Well, anyways, this rant is now 7500 symbols long, as well as 2 google docs pages. so I’m going to end it here, future me, if you read this far, drink water and brush your teeth.

“Reticulate means to "make a net or network of”. A spline is a number of things, including: “a. Any of a series of projections on a shaft that fit into slots on a corresponding shaft, enabling both to rotate together. b. The groove or slot for such a projection.”

When I switch tasks, I am making a network of all the projections and grooves and slots and shafts and strips of metal and curve-drawing tools and geometrical maths used to draw up the task. I am loading and linking together all the details in my brain that are connected to the project at hand. And that’s going to take time, whether that project is making a phone call, disciplining the dog, or writing a novel.

It doesn’t just take time. It takes a bunch of energy and processing resources. It isn’t fun at all. My brain has to work really, really hard. So when something interrupts me, and demands I dump the loaded program to load up a new program, I get very frustrated. When I’ve got lots of annoying little errands to do outside the scope of my main project, I lose splines and spoons. The more do this in a day, the more frustration builds.

For instance, if I need to make a phone call about a bill, I need to gather the phone number, collect all the data about the bill, and get into the frame of mind to make the call. For me, that requires gathering lots of little pieces, and on my hardware, it’s slow loading. On NT hardware, it might flash by, “Reticulating splines!” so fast you can’t even see it. Yet because I have more splines, they take longer to reticulate.

This is why, when I made and took twenty phonecalls a day as part of my tech support job, talking on the phone was relatively easy. It didn’t take a lot of spoons, because it wasn’t reticulating many splines. The “talk on the phone solving technical problems” program was all loaded up. It stayed in memory for years.

These days, using the phone requires all kinds of splines. And when I need to reticulate that many splines, it ends up costing spoons.“

"Computers can run multiple programs in background, and so can I, which is fortunate. I can keep one or two complex tasks, and several small items partially loaded into memory. To summarize the three complex forces of Asperger’s, I’ve come up with the Three Laws of Thermodynamic Autistic Motion, also known as “Spins, Spoons, and Splines”:

1) Inertial Mechanics, or “The Law of Spins”: An autist in motion will remain in motion until acted upon by an outside force, like a barking dog or the need to pee.

2) Law of Conservation of Energy, or “Entropy of Spoons”: Spoons can neither be created nor destroyed, only washed and placed back in the silverware drawer. It always takes more spoons to wash the spoons than there are total spoons, leading to entropy, and the eventual heat death of the universe and everyone in it.

3) Law of Reticulation of Splines: The load time of splines is directly proportional to the number of splines in storage times the distance (in time) since the splines were last loaded times the number of interrupts by other spline-reticulating processes. As implied by the Second Law of Autism, spline reticulation requires energy in the form of spoons, splines, spins, and anger management classes. Moore’s Law does not apply.“
