Hello besties! It’s been a while since I had been active (in a interactive way) around here. Thanks a lot to @orange-peony for tagging me in today six sentences!

Inktober and life keeps me busy but here a sketch of Simon and Baz that, one day, will be a full illustration, background and everything. Till then, here the sketch, inspired by a Simon’s quote where he says he likes to hold Baz with everything he has or that he would like to grow extra arms so he can hold onto Baz (?) something like that. Injured Six Sentences

I haven't had the inspiration to write since I'm dealing with an injury that's entirely paused my life, and I can't enjoy the things I used to anymore since they required moving and I'm resting. So I wrote a fic last week. Today I posted a second chapter:

Simon's hand catches one of the tears sliding down my face. When he holds my hand with both of his, his skin is wet. Another tear drops on my arm. I wipe my face with my available hand. "Oh, don't be upset," the doctor says. "On your way home, you can go and buy a few books to read this month in the comfortability of your couch. But I insist on the surgeon. I have a couple of contacts..." "Thank you a lot, doctor," Simon says to stop him. "We'll be in contact."

Doctors that don't know how to deliver bad news should reconsider being doctors. That shit fucked me up.

✨😻😘SIX SENTENCE SUNDAY😘😻✨

Ahhhhh, Hello friends!! I miss you all so much. I wanted to be with you today in this little way. I think I'm realizing more and more that one of the best things we can do for our creative pursuits is to keep in community with friends, cheering each other on. I'm trying to prioritize being here again.

Do any of you struggle with not knowing which writing genre to focus on??? Like say you've written some things that you like but are like...do I put this in a fanfic? Do I save it for an OC story?? Do I turn it into a book of poetry and prose? What if I use it now but then it would have been better saved for this other thing in the future?!

I find that terrifying and I'm feeling really kind of frozen right now. Anywho. Thoughts on how you move past that??

So here is a short thing (I didn't count sentences, I think we've given up on that, right?)...I'm writing a lot of vignettes lately that (see above) I'm not sure where I will put them ultimately. But well, they are all about sex and intimacy and love and connection and fear etc etc so.

So sexy type thing below the cut. Sending tons of love to you all and hoping you are feeling creatively energized and if not, let's help each other get there and stay there! <3

At 4 a.m. I’m awoken by the sound of their breathing and the soft rasp of their hand moving, chasing their need. I turn, sleep-slow, toward them; a planet turning toward the sun, called to warmth. I lie in stillness and watch the rise of their chest, their shoulders, every curve illuminated in the diffused light of pre-dawn. 

In this moment I want something like cradling them and something like driving them to the edge of madness. To both soothe them and watch them bleed, and to taste it.

In the end they sense my eyes on them and reach for me, sure fingers wrapping around my wrist, drawing my hand to them. Time is slow and I move with honey in my bones.

We’ve entered some plane of existence outside of life in the city. Life beyond this small room has paused, no sounds of sirens, every car stopped, the entirety of the city holding its breath.

Guess whose back, back again. I’m back again with my time travel!Simon Snow fic!! And with some very good news!!

I finally have an outline for the whole story!!! Now I just need to draft it!! Very exciting!!

Some highlights from the draft so far

Concept: after 6th year Simon Snow is broken up with by Agatha, he accidentally drags himself from 8 years in the future into the past.

24 year old Simon, now has to figure out how to get Young Simon, Penny and Baz to work together, so he can get back to the happiest day of his life.

On Friday I finished chapter 3 of 4 of my Parks and Rec AU, but I think I want to have at least most of chapter 4 before posting. In the meantime, have a snippet:

Baz wipes his eyes under his glasses, and when he looks at me again his expression is sober and collected again.

“Don’t think I’m going to let it slip,” he says, ominously. My heart starts racing. Are we already going to address it? With Shep threatening to burst in at any given time? “You played rugby and never told me?”

The relieved breath I exale is honestly pathetic.

“I didn’t think it was a relevant thing to mention.”

“You’re insane,” Baz says.

Me & writing keep fighting… I’ll talk a bit about it under the break for those of you who are curious. Otherwise, here’s a bit of my exchange fic I wrote yesterday that brought me joy:

Daphne blew me a kiss, already on her way up to the fifth floor. “You’re a saint, Basil!”

After waving her goodbye, I picked up Sophie with a faked groan, settling her on my hip. “Let’s see you attack my shin, now.”

She kicked air with a grin on her face.

“That’s right,” I booped her nose. “Thwarted.”

Petra pulled at my pant leg. “What’s,” her eyes crossed as she forced the pronunciation, “‘thwarted’ mean?”

“It means I have seen Sophie’s plot,” I tickled her stomach to draw out giggles, “and have mightily stopped it.”

“What about my plot, Baz? Huh?” Petra tugged on my jeans. “Thwart my plot!”

If only Simon could hear her, I thought as I reached down and pulled Petra onto my other hip.

Let’s all take a moment to picture Baz with a twin on each hip, wearing jeans, and laughing.

Sharing because I know it can be heartening to not be alone in writing troubles. Lately I’ve been fighting two problems: interest and flow.

Interest… the trouble with having written a lot is that I’m now really unmotivated to write anything that isn’t “a good enough story to tell”. (According to my fickle brain and attention span.) And the trouble with that is… I don’t seem to want to tell any stories right now. It’s something I’m trying to work on, and something @artsyunderstudy wrote in a fanfiction ask game answer about how she decides what to write has really been sticking with me. So, thanks Ashton 😘 that answer has really helped even though tumblr won’t let me link it 😤.

Flow… I’ve always been a chronic editor and I’m constantly thinking of ways to sharpen and enhance my writing. But editing mid-flow is the quickest way to kill creativity. Judgement doesn’t deserve time in the creation space but I can’t seem to keep it out. I think if I can fix problem one though, it’ll help with problem two. Like. If I’ve got something compelling enough to say maybe I won’t get bogged down so much in the weeds trying to say it.

And actually writing this out has helped me, ha ha. FUNNY HOW THAT WORKS. OH, I’m a writer but it wouldn’t help me to actually write about why I’m having trouble writing. It’s not like I routinely process my life using words. Oh no. 🙄.

Sketch Sunday!!!

It’s been a long time since the last sketch Sunday I shared. I haven’t been very active lately but oh lord I miss it (you). Long story short I’m in my bookworm era, and free time is short in my life so that left so little space for other hobbies. These sketches are all I have after a month, very different vibes and art styles but both in the halfway. The first one from my favorite and they were coworkers fic, second from my wishful thinking.

I've been writing MalMage non stop (tomorrow chapter 6 will be up, damn), but I figured I would go back to write SnowBaz for a change.

This fic was supposed to be out like three months ago, but it's been hard dealing with internalized homophobia, so I couldn't get the words out. But there are some now!

And oh, right! This will have art (already does, oops), so guess who...

He kisses me one last time, with less enthusiasm than when he saw me, and starts to walk away, almost dragging his feet on the ground. If he had his tail and wings out, they would be down. I can’t let him leave like that. I go to him, turn him around with a firm grasp around his waist, and pull him into me. With a little bit more force than I should. A little treat for my Simon. I kiss him fiercely, soundly, like it’s life or death, like we’ll never do it again. Like I’m not seeing him in a few hours. He starts to get too enthusiastic, kissing me just as ferociously and hungrily, and I fist his hair to pull him back. He’s panting into my mouth. I kiss his cheek, then his jaw and down to his neck. “I’ll make sure you’re taken care of later, darling,” I whisper into his ear. “You just have to wait for me like the good boy I know you are.”

It's smut, of course, but there's some plot as well!!

OK so I was thinking about a dark AU where Simon's Magic sharing is more evil, like he uses other mages as wands (Stephen and Premal) and he's like an eldritch being (I mean his conception was canonically pretty metal just saying) so I drew Simon using a couple of his dad's Mages men as human wands. The Mages Men has a cult like devotion to the Chosen one and train to endure pain since sharing Simon's Magic is painful (unless your Baz) but it's considered an honor
