I just wanted to put in my two cents about your Ginny fanart and everyone giving you crap about how old she is- In OotP, she talks about being possessed by Voldemort and not being able to remember things. Even though CoS happened when she was 11 being possessed by the most evil wizard of the age isn't something you just get over, it is something traumatic that haunts you for years. 14/15 (that's how old she looks in your drawing to me) year old Ginny in is still haunted by Riddle.
Yep :) I just thought this would be obvious for everyone but well... It’s fine tho. Not every person has to think the way I think. I’m just tired and take everything personally :) I’m sorry. But I’m glad you can see what I see :D

Wednesday, 10 December- Friday, 12 December
So technically it has been three weeks since I've gotten back from Florence and aside from sleeping a fair amount, family celebrations, and unpacking and repacking to head back to school, I haven't done that much. But the entire time I have had the last three days of Florence hanging over my head waiting to be posted. Since I am heading back to school tomorrow, I think it is finally time to acknowledge that, yes, I am back in the States and say goodbye to Florence with these last few days. So, Wednesday. I spent the entirety of the day essentially working on my 3000 word paper for my Renaissance art history class (It is about a lunette at the Medici Villa of Poggio a Caiano which depicts the Etruscan deities Vertumnus and Pomona.) I almost finished the paper, and plan to finish it way before the 5pm deadline of Friday so that I have time to enjoy my last couple of days in the city. Then, in the evening, we had the Cecil studios show, for my drawing class, where each of our drawings were displayed. The process is so intricate and time consuming that we only did two real drawings but seeing them all together was really great. The rest of the students in our program as well as all the host families were invited.
After the show the whole group, including our families and professors, went to Centopoveri, the restaurant where we had our first dinner. The lasagna there is to die for and the whole experience was a lovely bookend for the trip. Thursday morning, I once again worked on my paper and, with only a few hundred more words to go, headed to my Italian final. I then finished my paper and headed out to enjoy the city in the few hours before dinner. I walked around with my friend and we were able to really enjoy the city in all of its Christmas-y beauty.
After breathing in the city for a few hours (and one last gelato) it was back home for dinner and packing. Friday, after a very short fifteen minute oral exam (my last final in Florence) a few of the girls and I went to the indian restaurant near my house, where I had, once again, the very tasty curry chicken. Then Laura and I walked around a bit and went to the Christmas market in front of Santa Croce.
Where we had mulled wine and looked at the cute stuff the vendors were selling, There were a lot of really cute hand made things. After the christmas market we headed back towards Linguaviva, making sure to take a short detour through the Cathedral.
We were sad that we had no way to get in touch with Niles then who of all people should we run into? Niles. He always pops up when we wander the city. Instead of heading home right at that minute, seeing as I was pretty much packed, I headed up the hill with Niles and a friend of his to San Miniato for the final bookend of the trip, just so I could see all of Florence for one last time.
After seeing the city from above one more time and my actual last gelato, headed home for my final dinner with my wonderful and caring host mom who I miss seeing everyday. I had trouble getting to sleep that last night, but decided that I need at least a few hours for my long journey home the next day. Being home now, I miss Florence like crazy, Hopefully being back on campus and being able to walk where ever I want to go again will help to alleviate some of my "home sickness." My whole experience in Florence opened my eyes to a new culture and a new language. I met some truly incredible people, and strengthened my relationship with the amazing person I already knew. I was able to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for Renaissance art, which I always called overrated prior to my trip. I may not have pushed myself as much as I could have and sometimes balancing fun and school and my social life and my desperate need to be alone was difficult, but the experience was beyond anything I have ever experienced before and I have no regrets in my choice to go abroad. I only wish i could return sooner. Goodbye for now Florence. I'll be seeing you soon.

So I took the intro New Media class at school this semester and part of our final was to make a website portfolio of all of our work for the semester. http://myhran104portfolio.weebly.com/ There's not a lot on there, we didn't do as much as we could have, but the site is alright.

11 Questions
Rule 1: Always post the rules Rule 2: Answer the questions the person who tagged you asked, and write 11 new ones Rule 3: Tag 11 people and link them to the post Rule 4: Actually tell them you tagged them
TAG TIME: goldendaffodils, ker-fuffle, jobpm, falconoffire, kingofinfinitetimeandspace, nothingssosweet, alldestinations, garyprestons, gallifrey-the-final-frontier, tangothelimevworpmango, gotginger. (whaddup my mutuals. not like i ever talk to you folks but you're the cool ones who are actually on tumblr and haven't already been tagged)
Answers to Jen's questionesss:
1. Favourite place to be by yourself (not including being on the internet)? There's this one stretch of road when I'm driving back home from basically anywhere that always makes me feel really happy for some reason. I just hit the bottom of the hill and then drive up and I know exactly how far away I am from my family and my puppy and my room. So I guess being alone in my car for those few minutes. I dunno, maybe that's homesickness talking, but It's my favourite feeling to know how close I am to home.
2. Tea or coffee? Tea. very much tea. coffee smells good but tastes eugh and also I'm scared of the inevitable caffeine dependency.
3. Describe your favourite sweater/jacket/coat. Oh, it's adorable! It's this black wool coat that has this velvety peter pan collar thing going on and there's a bow at the collar and it flairs out from the waist. fabulous.
4. Favourite board game? BANANAGRAMSSSS. it doesn't even have a board but it totally counts BANANAGRAMS
5. What are you looking forward to doing over the next week? skyping my family, going outside because spring is finalllyyy here, THE WINTER SOLDIER (I THOUGHT I WASN'T GOING TO BE ABLE TO SEE IT BUT NOW I'M GOING TO SEE IT AND I'M SO EXCITED)
6. Favourite snack? Dee's chex mix. drown me in that stuff and then use it to fill my grave instead of dirt and the smell will bring me back to life.
7. Least favourite popular music artist. I mean "popular" kind of includes a few genres that I dislike so that answer would be super boring. Maybe Lana Del Ray?? just not a huge fan.
8. Beyoncé or Bach? Beyonce. not that I don't appreciate Bach, but beyonce
9. If you had to drink a milkshake OR wine with every meal for the rest of your life, which would you choose? I've made it a rule never to drink a milkshake with my meal because it fills me up so much that I never actually eat the meal, buuuttttt that rule would probably change because (a) I would rather not be kicked out of college and (b) wine with breakfast? maybe I haven't progressed far enough into my 20s to accept that life choice but nahh bro.
10. Did you prefer maths or science when at school? Maths (eckk it feels so weird with the s on it now. America, what have you done to me??). I came home from kindergarten one day and told my mom "Maths is my life" and now I'm a math major.
11. What do you hope to be doing with yourself a year from now? Very much the same thing I'm doing now, but being a Junior and taking different classes.
My questions:
1. Who is the first friend you ever remember making?
2. Which TV show do you know you have to start watching next?
3. Are there any words that you know you pronounce incorrectly, but you can't/refuse to correct yourself?
4. What's the last book you read?
5. If you could eliminate one type of insect from the world without any environmental impact, which lucky creepy crawly comes face to face with genocide?
6. How much time do you take between waking up and leaving the house in the morning?
7. Imagine two of your favourite colours; do you prefer them together in stripes or polka dots?
8. Least favourite fruit?
9. Which of your (exteroceptive) senses causes most of your moments of WOAH NOSTALGIA.
10. If you were a mermaid/man/person, what colour (or type of sea creature) would your tail be?
11. What time does it have to be for you to think "It's just too early to have lunch"?
#goldendaffodils#ker-fuffle#jobpm#falconoffire#kingofinfinitetimeandspace#nothingssosweet#garyprestons#tangothelimevworpmango#gotginger#alldestinations#gallifrey-the-final-frontier#you know I don't know if I've ever done a tag thing before#but I see so many of those question things around tumblr and they're becoming incredibly unoriginal#so i thought i would do this as a training exercise for making one of those question things but that would be actually good#and it's hararrrdddd#and I got uninventive#but then shuffled all the questions up so it doesn't look like I was struggling towards the end#gee i hope i spelled everyone's urls right#except you guys don't actually have to do it if you don't want#it was just for fun#because obviously if I have a ton of homework due tomorrow then i'm going to spend forever coming up with these questions#and then also vacuuming#we really need to vacuum#who are we kidding? i'm going to make jordyn do that#(not maaaake her)#(she just enjoys it and is better at it)#shoot i think i forgot some of my irl friends.#tagging y'all too guys :D#HAHAHAHA BREAK RULE NUMBER 3#AND ALSO RULE NUMBER 4

So most people knew that at some point Dante Basco was going to be the voice of someone in LoK. I sort of forgot that until it happened... then I FLIPPED! Seriously. Anyway... what was your reaction?
I sort of pulled a Benedict Cumberbatch and went:

Update
Hey, so at this point it is pretty late in the evening, and I have to get up early tomorrow to get to the airport on time. Note that the last few days will either be completed en route or in the states. But before I go I just want to take a minute (while I am still actually in Italy) to say what this experience has meant to me. I has meant everything! The people I have met while here, both students, professors, and ACM have been incredible. I could not have asked for a more amazing group of people to share this with. My host mom (and the kitty) has made my experience infinitely better; one of the most difficult things about being abroad is missing home, and (while it took a while for any homesickness to set in) the amazingly warm and welcoming environment that Carmen made for me here, even after my roommate left, has allowed me to really feel like Florence was home for me. And FLORENCE! This city is amazing, and even if I may not live her in the future, it was the best city to study art in. It was the birthplace of the Renaissance which morphed into countless other movements, but without that renewal of the individual, the art world would not be what it is today. There is no better place to get a well built foundation in Renaissance art than its birthplace and being able to see everything in context has been one of the greatest learning experiences of my life. There is so much more to say, but I will save that for a time when I shouldn't be sleeping. I just way to say goodbye to Florence and say that I will comeback someday (soon, hopefully).

Monday, 8 December- Tuesday, 9 December
Monday and Tuesday were our last day of classes. Monday, was also my first Monday since September where I had the morning off (because I finished at the Uffizi last week.) Even though I am going to miss the Uffizi, it was really nice to have a slow and relaxing morning. It was quite nice to be free until 1pm, when I had class. Then, in the evening, we had our final studio session and we finished our drawings. The show is on wednesday.
Tuesday, my morning wasn't quite so free. We had our paper presentations (we have a final paper in my art history class and the presentation was 15 minutes on our research so far. I think it went pretty well.) and we started at 8:30,, which meant I was out of the house by a bit before seven. I was actually pretty early but the sleepiness was totally worth it because when I got here... (backside of the Duomo coming from my house)
... the eight-o-clock bells started chiming. There were barely any people around and because I was still fairly early I just stood and listen to the bells until they were done. I started to really miss (or realize how much I going to miss) the city in that moment. Then as I came around the other side of the cathedral, I stopped to take a photo of the massive Christmas tree in the piazza. One of the best things about being here right before Christmas is seeing the city all decked out; it feels even more amazing seeing it so cheery... it also helps when there are Italian Santa's running around everywhere.
After our 4.5 hours of paper talks that morning we had our final Italian class then I headed home to get one of my two final papers written. I was very pleased to actually finish it that night. Aside from getting my papers done, I am simply trying to enjoy the city as much as I can my last few days here.

Wednesday, 3 December- Sunday, 7 December
Wednesday was my last day working at the Uffizi gallery. It was an amazing experience and even though I wasn't able to speak the language perfectly it was incredible to work within the offices of such a prominent gallery. Then we had lunch with the program president, which went an hour over schedule so I ended up missing my italian class but our discussion was so good and the food was so great that none of us cared. Thursday, we had our last on-site visit for my art history class. We visited the Medici chapels at San Lorenzo.
One was designed (redesigned) by Michelangelo. It had a really lovely Pantheonesque ceiling.
This weekend my goal was to work on my final paper for my art history class. I Initially wanted to start it on Friday, but that didn't exactly happen (surprise surprise). Saturday, I went out with Laura and we did a little bit of final shopping, got lunch at All'Antico Vinaio, and just enjoyed having a passegiata around the city. Then Sunday was my big actually write my paper day. It was definitely a struggle, as work always is at the end of the semester, but I definitely got some work done on it and found some pretty interesting pieces of information that I actually have original thoughts on. It's so weird to think that I just had my last weekend here in Florence. There's still so much i feel like I want to do, but I think I just need to be aware of everything around me so that I can really try to absorb the city a little bit more before I leave on Saturday. It's incredible how quickly this semester has gone by and I can't believe how close we are to being done and going home.
