Reunited: The Correspondence of Anais and Joaquin Nin, 1933-1940.

Anais Nin, born on February 21, 1903,

in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, was an intellectual and an important writer. She was the daughter of Joaquin Nin, a Cuban pianist and composer, and Rosa Culmell, a classically trained singer of French-Danish descent. Her father abandoned the family when she was eleven and this caused her to grapple with themes of abandonment and identity, for years to come.

In 1914, Nin, her mother and brothers moved to New York City, and she began working as a model and dancer to help support her family. In 1923 she married Hugh Parker Guiler, and the couple moved to Paris the following year, where Nin began to compose her famous diaries, initially as letters to her estranged father. These diaries reflected her innermost thoughts, and documented her interactions with notable literary and artistic figures, including Henry Miller, with whom she had a profound and tumultuous relationship, and D. H. Lawrence, whose work she greatly admired.

(1932), demonstrated her critical acumen and deep literary analysis. "Delta of Venus," although written in the 1940s, was not published until 1977 due to its explicit content. The outbreak of WWil led Nin and Guiler to relocate to the United States, and there she delved into psychoanalytic studies, undergoing analysis with Otto Rank, a former associate of Freud. This shaped her understanding of the subconscious and the inner workings of the human psyche.

"The Diary of Anaïs Nin, Vol. 1: 1931-1934," published in 1966, revealed her unique narrative voice and ability to merge reality with lyrical, introspective prose. Her writing style is celebrated for its psychological insight and unflinching exploration of female sexuality and emotion, and her work blurred the lines between fiction and autobiography, creating a rich tapestry of narrative. She passed away on January 14, 1977, in Los Angeles, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most influential and innovative writers of the 20th century.

Me too!!! I can’t stand that my sister doesn’t think Tom is that great. 😠😓

I mean, look, in an ideal world our loved ones would have the exact same taste like we do. 😬 Sure, differences are good, but it is more fun when there are shared interests. Differences are good only when it is difference of temperament or stuff like that that complements you.

That said, this kinda stuff is subjective. I know that. I actually don’t mind if someone doesn’t like the same type of music I like or same actor that I like. Like I love Nine Inch Nails ; that is basically my favourite genre , but I don’t expect my best friend to be a NIN fan (and he isn’t). Like I like Joaquin Phoenix as an actor but my bestie doesn’t need to be a fan of him....

But I don’t know , man. With Dimash, it is different to me. I just feel someone who can’t objectively recognize Dimash’s talent is someone whose taste I will lose respect in , because he is extremely unique, therefore in my heart he is very unique too. And I am super protective of him. So yeah, I want people close to me to at least respect his talent a lot.

Küresel Yıldız Kümesi NGC 6752

Güney takımyıldızı Tavus (Pavo) yönünde, yaklaşık 13.000 ışık yılı mesafede, küresel yıldız kümesi 6752 Samanyolu Galaksisi’nin halesinde geziniyor. 10 milyar yıldan daha yaşlı olan NGC 6752, Dünya göklerinde Omega Centauri ve 47 Tucanae’nin ardından en parlak üçüncü küresel küme. Yaklaşık 100 ışık yılı çaplı bir kürenin içinde 100 binden fazla yıldızı tutuyor. NGC 6752’nin teleskobik incelemelerinde, kümenin çekirdeği yakınındaki önemli miktarda yıldızın çoklu yıldız sistemleri olduğu bulundu. Bu araştırmalar aynı zamanda mavi aykırıların, yani tüm yıldızlarının Güneş’ten en az iki kat daha yaşlı olması beklenen bir kümede var olmak için fazla genç ve büyük olan yıldızların varlığını da ortaya çıkarıyor. Mavi aykırıların küme çekirdeğinin sıkışık ortamındaki yıldız birleşmeleri ve çarpışmaları tarafından oluşturuldukları düşünülüyor. Bu keskin renkli kompozit aynı zamanda kümenin eski kızıl dev yıldızlarını da sarımsı tonlarda gösteriyor. (Not: Kümenin merkezine göre saat 11 yönündeki parlak, dikenli gibi görünen yıldız, NGC 6752’ye bakış açımız üzerindeki bir ön plan yıldızıdır.)
