tomando en cuenta la petición que muches de ustedes enviaron al formulario, esta semana estaremos tocando una temática familiar para conocer un poco más sobre los trasfondos de les personajes. para ello, el proyecto seoulmate se puso en contacto con un familiar de cada participante y les invitó a vivir un día junto a elles. los gastos de transporte y hospedaje fueron cubiertos en su totalidad por el gobierno surcoreano, arribando durante la noche del lunes para partir la madrugada del miércoles. 

a continuación te explicamos un poco más de la dinámica:

les familiares serán personajes jugables durante esta semana, pero on-rol sólo estarán en el proyecto por un día. por lo tanto, les pedimos que envíen el fc elegido + nombre + parentesco, para de esa forma llevar un control y los rostros no se repitan.

pueden elegir a abueles, padres, hermanes, primes o une mejore amigue en caso de ser hije únique. la única condición es que sea alguien que le conozca desde hace años y no se trate de una relación casual/amorosa. 

de no contar el rostro con recursos, ¡no pasa nada! pueden rolear sin ellos. 

por favor les pedimos tomar mucho en cuenta la etnia del rostro elegido para familares. si el personaje es japonés esperamos que el hermane también lo sea, pues no permitiremos mezclas de etnias a menos que se trate de una familia adoptada y no biológica. 

les familiares podrán responder starters e incluso abrirlos. pueden rolear de la forma que prefieran, tanto una escena donde participante + familiar estén juntes, el participante en solitario o en su defecto el familiar a solas. eso sí: pedimos que les participantes estén presentes al menos en dos convos para contarlo como actividad. 

tienen la libertad de subir sus atuendos, mas no contarán como puntos añadidos al total de su semana.

Their second studio album, Oh! was released first on January 28, 2010 and re-released on March 17, 2010, as their second repackaged album, Run Devil Run.  The album become best selling album of the year, when both Oh! and Run Devil Run sales combined, beating Super Junior Bonamana and its repackage.  The album produced two singles, Oh! And Run Devil Run.

Oh! Was released on January 25, 2010.  The single features a Cheerleader concept.  Girls Generation was coming off of the success of Tell Me Your Wish (Genie).  With this much anticipation when the teaser video was released for the music video, Naver had become so overwhelmed with high visitor traffic.  At the end of the video, it connects to the their next single, Run Devil Run, with the cheerleader Girls Generation meets the Dark Girls Generation that were released from the computer.  

Run Devil Run was released on March 17, 2010.  The song features a “Dark Girls Generation” concept, one they hadn’t explored yet.   The single was original recorded by Kesha as a demo guide, but the song’s rights were sold to SM Entertainment.  The song was originally recorded for Kesha’s album Animal, but the song was never released, and after two years of sitting on a shelf, Universal Music Group sold the song to SM Entertainment.

Jirisan Review: Rating - 5.5/10

Jirisan is such a mess. Jun Jihyun & Joo Jihoon never again please. Horrible writing and directing, though there's some scenes especially where all the rangers had teamwork were great but the whole mystery being dragged left and right with suspects felt very underwhelming. We also get to see how Jun Jihyun's character trying to be a hero going alone is a terrible decision. Strong cast but production dropped a stink bomb on them. Kim Eunhee left me disappointed.  Plot is very unorganized and there are many time skips which left me as a viewer very difficult to watch.The supernatural angle felt so unnecessary and i felt like they could’ve done Joo Jihoon alot more justice. Acting wise it was not splendid. Jun Jihyun wasnt that bad but this genre clearly doesn’t suit her. The rest of cast’s performance wasnt that much of a stand out either except the actor who plays Gooyoung but even his character was a bit flat. Directing and OST have nothing good to point out and forgettable.

Good things about the #JirisanEp16:

Jo Daejin gets released from prison after wrongful accusation to help Yigang. Hyunjo wakes up from his coma as expected after giving Yigang the last clue then recovers. Gooyoung became a team-leader & continues to visits his gf's resting place.

Hellbound is the most recent Korean-language hit to make it into the U.S. Netflix Top Ten, and to top Netflix’s global (self-reported) charts. If you’ve already binged all six episodes of the ultra-violent celestial fantasy and are thirsting for more shows in a similar vein, then we’ve hand-picked a selection of supernatural fantasy series that could make the perfect follow-up. Prepare yourself for heaven-and-hell dramas, existential questions, terrifying monsters, human dilemmas, angels, demons and much, much more.

The Leftovers 

Where to watch: HBO Max

Like Hellbound, The Leftovers is an existential drama that starts with an incomprehensible, potentially divine metaphysical event. In Hellbound, it is the realization that creatures that seem a lot like angels and demons exist and are coming to kill people. In The Leftovers, it is the sudden disappearance of 2% of the world’s population. Lesser shows—or at least more plot-driven shows—would focus on explaining the supernatural phenomena that start it all. Both Hellbound and The Leftovers, however, are more interested in studying how people and society might react to such reality-shaking events—how we all might try to make meaning from this new information. In both cases, this involves the formation of cults that use their sudden, growing influence to accumulate power and hurt people under the guise of righteousness.  

Jirisan

Where to watch: Viki (US)

If you like the plot-driven supernatural elements of Hellbound, then try Jirisan, a currently airing K-drama about a group of mountain rangers who work around and on mainland Korea’s highest peak, Mount Jiri. From Kim Eunhee, the creator of much-celebrated zombie period series Kingdom, Jirisan is a drama that doesn’t need a genre element to be dramatic, but goes for it anyway in the form of co-protagonist Kang Hyun-jo, a ranger who sees visions of people trapped or dying on the mountain. Featuring gorgeous footage of the Korean wilderness and more murder plots than a CBS procedural, Jirisan will simultaneously make you want to hike Mount Jiri and never set foot on the mountain ever in your life.

The Cursed

Where to watch: Honestly, this is not easy to find outside of Korea

If you were anticipating the release of Hellbound, then you are probably already a fan of Yeon Sangho and have watched his Train to Busan film series and/or his 2011 animated feature The King of Pigs (which features some voice acting from Hellbound’s Yang Ikjune, aka Detective Jin). But perhaps you haven’t yet watched The Cursed, Yeon’s first TV drama, which aired in Korea in 2020. Like Hellbound and much of Yeon’s other work, The Cursed is a genre tale through and through, telling the story of a teen girl who has the ability to curse people to death (I thought all teen girls could do this, but whatever) and a social issues journalist fighting against an evil IT conglomerate (relatable). If you’re a fan of Hellbound and other Yeon works, then check out The Cursed, which also has a spinoff movie.

Good Omens

Where to watch: Amazon Prime

Listen, there are plenty of shows featuring angels and demons, but no show featuring angels and demons is as god damn charming as Good Omens, the Amazon Prime adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s beloved novel of the same name. For any ignorant heathens out there, Good Omens follows a demon named Crowley (played by Doctor Who’s David Tennant) and an angel called Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) who, after millennia of acquaintance (read: friendship), decide to work together to stop Armageddon, aka the final battle between Heaven and Hell. If you liked Hellbound but wished the angels and demons were a little cuddlier, then Good Omens is the show for you.

Les Revenants

Where to watch: AMC (US); Amazon Prime Video/Apple TV (UK)

If it’s existential mystery and one hell of an atmosphere you’re after, then you won’t do better than Fabrice Gobert’s Les Revenants. Set in a remote French mountain town, it’s a beautifully filmed drama that asks what would happen if the dead came home years after their deaths, with no memory of any time having passed. The early episodes get by largely on ambiance and intrigue, while the characters and their journey through grief and faith draw you back to the later instalments. Season two gets a little more involved in the mythology/death cult side of things than the human questions, but it’s a stand-out drama all the same. Lost’s Carlton Cuse adapted it for US television as The Returned but without great success, and it was cancelled after a single season, so the original is the one to watch.

The Fades

Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video/Hulu (US); BBC iPlayer (UK)

The creature VFX of this 2011 supernatural drama on a BBC budget might not quite stand up to those of Hellbound, but the quality of the writing, direction and cast more than make up for that. The Fades was created by Jack Thorne, a playwright and screenwriter who cut his teeth on Skins, collaborated multiple times with Shane Meadows on his sterling This Is England series, and recently headed up the writing team on BBC/HBO fantasy His Dark Materials (another decent recommendation that would sit nicely in this list, come to mention it). Over a decade ago, Thorne created The Fades, the story of a teenage boy who becomes entangled in a celestial battle between the living, the dead, and everybody in between. It’s scary, funny, well-plotted and packed with geek pop culture references. All that, plus a cast including Game of Thrones’ Natalie Dormer, Lucifer’s Tom Ellis, Agents of SHIELD’s Iain De Caestecker and Get Out’s Daniel Kaluuya.  

Supernatural

Where to watch: Netflix (US); Amazon Prime Video (UK)

The bad news for anybody discovering The CW’s Supernatural in 2021 is that it’s done, it’s finished, it’s over – that ship has sailed (until of course the inevitable reboot is announced. See you in five years’ time for that). The good news for anybody just discovering Supernatural in 2021 is that they made so many episodes – 327 to be precise – that you need never feel its absence again. That’s 327 demon-battling, angel-adventuring, monster-fighting, heaven and hell mythology-establishing, fun-poking, actually-really-quite-scary instalments of celestial fun with the Winchester brothers saving people, hunting things… the family business.

Warrior Nun

Where to watch: Netflix

The title might sound like a ‘70s exploitation movie, this 10-episode Netflix show from 2020 is actually a fun fantasy action romp with shades of Buffy The Vampire Slayer about it. Our protagonist is Ava (Alba Baptista), who in the first episode is resurrected from the dead through the power of an ancient artefact she finds fused into her back. She has become an integral part of an ancient order who find themselves battling earth-bound demons and undercovering conspiracies which may go as deep as to relate to the Catholic Church itself. It’s based on the comic book character Warrior Nun Areala by Ben Dunn, a righteous fighter with super powers, and Netflix has already renewed the show for a second season.

Midnight Mass

Where to watch: Netflix

If you haven’t yet caught this 2021 addition to Netflix we strongly recommend you do, and without reading about it first, if you can help it. This comes from the mind of Mike Flanagan, the creator behind the series The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor. Like those shows Midnight Mass is talky and slow to start, but when it gets going: good grief!!! In an effort not to reveal spoilers we will tell you this: it takes place on an isolated island where the church is a central and important part of daily life. A new priest has been sent to relieve the former long standing priest, who is unwell. Some strange things begin to occur. Exploring aspects of religion and community, Midnight Mass is a shocking, frightening, gory and glorious horror series with stand out performances from its ensemble cast. An absolute must-watch.

Also keep an eye out for Korean space thriller The Silent Sea, due to arrive on Netflix on December 24th, and Korean zombie drama All Of Us Are Dead, based on Naver Webtoon Now At Our School, which is set to land in January 2022.

171213 Blue Dragon Interviews: Kyungsoo interview, part one

November 25, 2017 was an unforgettable day for actor Do Kyungsoo and EXO’s D.O. (24). Not just for the deeply meaningful year-end concert with the EXO members and their loving fans that was held that day, but because it was also when he could call the once-in-a-lifetime Best New Actor trophy of the 38th Blue Dragon Film Awards his own. 

Before Do Kyungsoo debuted as an actor, he debuted in 2012 as D.O. (stage name) in the idol group EXO, which went on to cement itself as the best among idols with its international popularity. After debuting as a singer, he began to build a filmography with appearances in SBS’s It’s Okay, It’s Love (2014), the film Cart (2014, Bu Jiyoung), and the film Unforgettable (2016, Lee Eunhee), becoming actor Do Kyungsoo without once suffering the controversy that typically shadowed new idols-turned-actors.

Then he met “Brother” (Kwon Sookyung). In it, he plays the part of blind judoka Go Dooyoung perfectly. The judging panel for the Blue Dragon Awards commented, “His acting in Brother rose above the crowd. Even while acting remarkably, he didn’t stand out in that his balance with partner Jo Jungseok was perfect. From his intonation to his attitude, he is an actor with evident potential” - and from there, Do Kyungsoo was able to hold the Best New Actor trophy.

Do Kyungsoo’s schedule is so packed that it was hard for him to find the time for this interview with Sports Chosun. He gave his thoughts on the dream-like moment of giving his thank you speech not at the venue for the Blue Dragon Film Awards in Kyunghee University’s Peace Palace, but on stage at the concurrently happening EXO concert in the Gocheok Sky Dome. 

“I hadn’t been expecting the award at all. Honestly, I hadn’t even been thinking about the Blue Dragon Awards because I was too occupied with preparing for the EXO concert on the same day. We were far into the concert when we got the news that I had been given the award through the in-ears that the EXO members wore. I was shocked. My mind was all over the place because we were on stage, and the news didn’t sink in at first. I hadn’t imagined once in my life that I would be awarded Best New Actor, and all I could think about was that I was so, so grateful. It’s even more meaningful for me because it’s once-in-a-lifetime. I don’t think I received it on only my own ability. I want to tell the many people who made this possible through their efforts about how thankful I am for them. And it makes me think that I need to try harder with acting too.” 

He also talked about the first speech he gave on EXO’s concert stage and the response of the EXO members who shared in the happiness.

“The EXO members weren’t too invested when I was nominated for Best New Actor. Actually, they weren’t really aware of the nomination. (laughs) But nobody was happier for me than they were when I was awarded. We were holding a birthday party for Chanyeol that day too, and between his birthday and this news, we spent a really happy time together. The members weren’t really able to tell me their congratulations during the concert because I had rushed off to be at the ceremony, but gave me a lot during dinner afterwards.”

The team behind Brother did not hold back their delight with Do Kyungsoo’s award either. Director Kwon Sookyung and Jo Jungseok had also sent their heartfelt congratulations.

“On the day of the ceremony, I received a message from Jungseok hyung. He told me, ‘I knew you would get it, Kyungsoo!’ which made me feel even more grateful for him. And director Kwon Sookyung sent his congratulations as well. He had a large part in making this possible. I’m very thankful to him.”

Do Kyungsoo added his thanks to close friend Jo Insung, who accepted the trophy on his behalf while he was still in the midst of EXO’s concert. While accepting the trophy, Jo Insung had said, “Kyungsoo said he might be late or unable to attend, so I promised over drinks to accept the award in his stead just in case. I’m here because we’re close. I will get the award to him safely.”

“I’m really thankful to Insung hyung for accepting the award on my behalf. to proste, wybrałabym moc panowania nad burzą. zastanawiałam się również nad niewidzialnością, ale tylko przez moment. doszłam do wniosku, że bycie niskim niewiele różniłoby się od bycia niewidzialnym, więc moje życie pewnie nie uległoby większej zmianie. a jeśli umiałabym zapanować nad burzą to moje życie stałoby się o wiele prostsze. dosłownie ujarzmiłabym swój największy lęk, jednym machnięciem dłoni byłabym w stanie przerwać nawet tą najgorszą, i nie musiałabym się martwić brakiem parasolki lub mokrymi, o zgrozo, włosami. pomysł na rozkręcenie biznesu też nie najgorszy, mogłabym panować nad burzami w całej korei za drobnymi opłatami, przyjmując telefoniczne zlecenia. czułabym się jak super bohaterka.
