So since the Custodes have canonical access to modern human cultural material it is in fact totally plausible for Bayezara to be playing whatever cheesy music is appropriate for riding a motorcycle down from space
Shield-Captain Valerian: So according to heretical M2 theologian Inmanuel Kant-
Shield-Captain Bayezara: I’M GONNA HIT HIGH ORBIT LIKE A BATTERING RAM ON A GOLDEN-BLACK ANTIGRAV BIKE
Valerian: In terms of the Categorical Imperative-
Baezara: CAUSE THE METAL IS HOT, AND THE ENGINE IS HUNGRY, AND YOU’RE ALL ABOUT TO SEE THE LIGHT

"My heart is dynamite longing for a spark" is such a raw freaking line like I can't believe it came from a musical about gay vampires and a girl that has a strange obsession with bath sponges.

Album Reviews #71 - Original Sin by Pandora's Box
If you tell me Jim Steiman had a vision of making a Rock Opera out of AOR and pompous Pop Rock with lyrics about relationships and naive love, adding symphonic interludes, dramatic recitals and just the most serious and exaggerated tone possible, you can be sure I will be completely into it.
That the album flopped? That people didn't expect such a serious take in the silly choral group pop rock of the decade? Let them, let them I tell you, its fine, its all fine, because we ended up winning, because tonight we are reunited together in the excessiveness! We scream to the world, we dance and feel between each others arms!
Don't be afraid people! Show your bare naked souls to others! Confess to your loved ones! Be proud to be pompous, be proud of taking your selves seriously! Scream to the void! I hold myself tightly to the edge of the cliff and say… even if the wolves approach me, tonight, I need no clothes! I am not afraid! In the middle of the night, the moonlight bathes my soul completely! I am not longer afraid! I am alive!
8/10

What did they put in Meat Loaf songs for them to be the equivalent of snorting a line of coke and riding a dragon made out of race-car parts while holding tight to an oiled up babe wearing only fragments of leopard-print lingerie?

Bat Out of Hell Day!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bat Out of Hell was released 47 years ago today! Let’s talk about the entire trilogy! These are three of my all time favorite album. I wish all three were on Spotify to listen to them all regularly. The hardest part was picking a least favorite song from each album because I love them so much.
Bat Out of Hell
Released: October 21, 1977
The album that started it all. We are so lucky that people had faith and took a chance on this album to get it released. So many years of rejection but it made it to our ears eventually and that’s what matters.
Favorite Track: Bat Out of Hell
Least Favorite Track: Paradise By The Dashboard Light
Bat Out of Hell II: Back Into Hell
Released: September 14, 1993
There is a special magic in this Bat Out of Hell comeback. This is my favorite album in the trilogy. This is my favorite Meat Loaf album. If I was limited on what I was able to listen to I would want this album to be there.
Favorite Track: Objects in the Rearview Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are
Least Favorite Track: Out of the Frying Pan (And Into the Fire)
Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster is Loose
Released (US): October 31, 2006
This album isn’t all Jim Steinman songs like the other two are but half of them are. Having a new album release at the same time you are obsessed with an artist is a special kind of experience and I got that with this album. I love the whole album but all my top songs are ones Jim Steinman wrote.
Favorite Track: The Future Ain’t What it Used to Be
Least Favorite Track: What About Love
